Our dishwasher failed while we were away and the significant water damage (about which we initially were unaware) not only slowly created mold inside our walls; it ruined most of our kitchen cabinetry. Since our house was built in 1984 the kitchen had been updated but never fully remodeled (including the original fluorescent lighting and drop-ceiling!). We had no intention to undergo such significant a project but the timing would never be better.
Our insurer provided a list of its approved contractors but because the economy is so strong here in AZ, few responded and even fewer provided a bid (of the 18 GC's contacted). During the mold remediation process (a terrible experience we wish upon no one!), we were referred to Copper State Remodeling, a fully licensed and bonded General Contractor. Are we ever grateful!
Mike Byrnes, its owner, came to our home the same day we contacted him and expediently provided a comprehensive bid: Seal the rest of the house off (we lived in it throughout...), repair walls post-mold remediation, demo/remove all cabinets, drop ceiling and equally dated lighting, etc. His crew then installed new drywall/texture, redesigned our HVAC (making it more efficient), fully upgraded LED lighting, painted, and even completed minor structural improvements.
Mike as project manager, most capably coordinated and oversaw each subcontractor, the cabinetry company, appliance delivery/install, and the granite fabrication/install. Each and every individual who came into our home was the utmost in professionalism, competence, consideration, and also friendliness--including being most dog-friendly!
Copper State Remodeling was competitive in its bid. Most of all though, we appreciate the significant added value Mike and his team brought to our home. We're extremely satisfied and fully enjoying our new kitchen and family room--including its previously 'hidden' vaulted ceilings.

This company is by far the #1 steel building company in central Arizona. Very professional and quality is #1. So far I have seen numerous steel building companies that will sell you a steel building kit and dump it on your property after you pay for it. Then finding a company to professionally install it is almost impossible. And of the very few companies that sell and install steel buildings I was told by one installer that the parts would all sit on my property for 6 months or so until they could schedule an install (about a year later). So not only would it sit there collecting dirt and dust and sit in the hot sun but it risked being damaged or even having the metal stolen or blown away during monsoon season.- No thanks. Someone recommended SOUTHWEST to me and WOW!What a difference from the other companies that just want your money. They really care and do incredible work. Yes the price quoted may be a bit more than one of the other companies. But not only will the building be better quality but getting it done without all the headaches and delays make it the best company and best deal by far... I had a 40x60 building built and hopefully will get a 2nd one in the near future. (My business is growing) And when I do it will be just one call to Southwest.

Brad has done 2 projects for us, he built a Casita on our residential property. We had been working with another contractor that had drug their feet and Brad and his team came in and got the job done quickly, during the beginning of the COVID issue. He really came through for us.
The second was a commercial project, he remodeled our office, at our business in Chandler. We had a quick deadline to get it done and they did an amazing job, excellent price and it was done on time.
Highly recommend Brad and his team!

PDG Construction is the best handyman service in the city. I have never worked anyone who was as honest, clean and meticulous as PDG. They are very knowledgeable and do great work. I recommend them to all of my friends and family.

Steve and his team renovated our 1950s Arcadia Lite home this summer. We met with nearly 10 contractors to get quotes and Steve's pricing and schedule were in line with or better than most but we went with Steve based on the comfort level we had with him after our first meeting. Steve asks all the right questions and provided suggestions and inputs that made our project so much better. Our work included removing multiple load bearing walls and installing beams in our ceiling and support footers; associated drywall work and some additional drywall work; installation of all new flooring and baseboards; retexturizing of the entire great room ceiling; movement of electrical switches and outlets and installation of new recessed lighting and chandeliers/fixtures; plumbing in our laundry room; addition of a tankless water heater and the associated electrical work; removal of microwave and cabinetry and replacement with a range hood and accent backsplash in the kitchen; and the addition of an island in our kitchen. Steve was a great communicator and the only reason the project took longer and cost more than originally quoted was because of work scope we added. In fact, Steve offset some of that increased cost with cost reductions in other areas. We couldn't be happier with the results and when we complete additional renovations over time in our home we will contact Sun Country Renovations without question.

They responded to my questions, scheduled and worked very promptly to demolish and dispose the pool fencing at my rental property.
I am very pleased with them, so I will call them again if any handyman job is needed in the future.

Had a large sliding glass door that didn't slide any more... Called Phoenix Sliding Doors and was answered right away. Unfortunately they were all booked up but I scheduled a time for them to come out. On the day of they called me to let me know they were on their way out. Maurice and Melissa showed up and worked their magic! I can now open and close my door with one finger!! They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves and put furniture back after they moved it. I would highly recommend them! From door knock to them leaving after the repair was done, was 45 mins. Thanks Maurice and Melissa for bringing life back to my Sliding Glass Door!!

I have worked with many different contractors over recent years and the best company that I have ever worked with, by far, is Heritage Millworks. The pricing was very fair and most importantly, the quality of work and attention to detail was phenomenal. I am a bit OCD and very much an attention to detail person and I was very impressed with not only the owner but all 5 of the workmen placed on our job. From the onset, Nate (owner) was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to figure out exactly how things needed to be laid out. Heritage installed large squares on our living room and dining room ceilings. The layout in this area is vaulted and has a few odd corners to would normally be difficult to navigate. However, Nate easily figured out exactly how to work with this space and make it look just stunning. He also added a large decorative piece to every square which made the entire area pop, look extremely expensive and just incredible. Throughout the various stages of our job, every workmen took extra time to be thorough, professional and perform extremely high quality work. All of the men were knowledgeable, friendly, professional and showed an attention to detail and thoroughness that I have never before seen. The final product really is awe-inspiring. I cannot recommend Heritage Millworks enough! I greatly look forward to working with them again!

Keith and his crew just completed my kitchen and the results are excellent. I would highly recommend using Arizona Kitchens and Refacing to do your project. This won't be the lowest quote, but their work is worth the extra cost.

Based on the couple of positive reviews here on Yelp, I contacted Homework remodels for assistance with my renovation. I think Yelpers got this one wrong...
My experience is from one year ago and just now got around to writing the review.
We did not have a very good experience with Homework Remodels. We have a 1940s historic red brick house that needs some exterior work. I contacted Steve, he came out and we discussed everything I wanted done to the house including new roof, new gables, new front porch, new front door, repair and restore casement windows, etc. From then on, I have not heard back from Homework Remodels (except the one time they called to tell me someone was going to come and look at the casement window exteriorly). NO quote or contact ever received after that!
I guess he must be doing really well and doesn't need my business.

We moved to Scottsdale about a year ago. Our house was in need of renovation. Our master closet was anemic and our master bathroom was in desperate need of an update. We weren't quite sure how to go about it....then we met Courtney Roberts at Habitat Renovations. Courtney came out to our house and we created a plan that would work for the space. Courtney was amazing! Bobb Bodisch, supervised our project. Bobb communicated with us regularly, letting us know what to expect. We are thrilled with the results! Thanks Habitat!

I cannot begin to explain how disappointed I am in David Zarate and D Masonry Construction. He poured my foundation slab on my house addition and messed it up being off by about 6 inches on one side which would have caused a HUGE problem if the General Contractor that used him didn't make it right. David then promised me he knew how to pour a tennis court and that he had poured several for customers before. So I trusted him which was a BIG MISTAKE. Look at the photos I uploaded. Don't take my word for it just look at the photos.
1) The court was not level and appropriately sloped as when General Acrylics came to flood test it before they striped it, there were puddles all over the court of water just sitting there.
2) The court surface finish was not done correctly. It was suppose to be done in a light broom finish which he said he knew how to do that no problem. He did not and the court was anywhere from rough to smooth all over different parts of the court.
3) He didn't suspend the wire mesh in the court right in the middle of the 4 slab like he is suppose to, to ensure no wire mesh is exposed on top of the tennis court.
4) Crooked tennis posts. He never bothered to ensure the tennis posts sleeves were set straight. Look at the photos. Unreal.
-Then when I asked him to please make his mistakes right, and pay for me to get a true tennis court company to correct these items, he told me he wouldn't and claimed he didn't do anything wrong!!!! Look at the photos!
If I could give a 0 review, I would... unbelievable to have someone take advantage of me like that.

They gave me a really fast quote and their installer was supposed to come out to confirm the measurements. After my prompting the installer scheduled to come out this past Saturday but he never showed up. I texted him and no response. Dont do business with this company, very poor service.

READ THE BELOW STORY TELL ME IF YOU'D LIKE THIS COMPANY TO DO WORK FOR YOU!!!
Two disabled people living in Carefree, AZ area used this company to add a bedroom in a garage area for a nanny to help them with their small children. The original contract (dated 10-25-17) was fine, any changes made Verde astronomically over charged them. Her husband passed away January 2018 who was handling the job and his wife was totally lost being disabled herself. She was a good friend from high school she asked me to help her. As I reviewed this additional contract she was being charged for items she didn't receive and Ken Verde (owner) of Verde General Contracting refuses to credit her for soffit lighting of (4 can-lights for $3500) they didn't install reason being is all the a/c duct work had to run through them and they couldn't put them in. Ken Verde still feels they are owed the money. There were changes made that Verde never had change orders for but it was very evident these were done and she had no problem paying for those. Verde General Contracting has sent threatening lien letters to her when she only owes $4836.00. My lord if the poor woman isn't devastated enough from the loss of her husband in January then a few months later she lost her mother. We tried the Registrar of Contractors they wouldn't help her at all so here she sits with an unfinished bedroom for her nanny that could be helping her right now. A list of items not done properly: a can-light installed in ceiling instead a light fixture over the bathrm sink, drywall unfinished, paint unfinished, exterior doors installed with no seals on them, moved plumbing made a mess of the concrete while doing so, this list just goes on. She has two young children and Verde General will not contact her to complete this job for her. She's exhausted just trying to keep up with the kids all by herself now, thanks to Verde General Contracting..
