Sun Country Renovations

Sun Country Renovations exceeded all our expectations. We used them to remodel our kitchen and add hardscape to our backyard.

Our yard was already rather mature and complete but lacked space for our chaises. Steve figured out how to add to our travertine deck while making it appear it always there. He used every inch of space efficiently.

The kitchen was even more impressive.  We wanted more counter and cabinet space to an already expensive kitchen. He was able to match the cabinets and add more countertop space.  We had thought our original builder had done quality work until we saw the quality of this crew. Tile, electrical, plumbing all turned out perfect. He gave us interesting ideas we had not thought of that took the kitchen to the next level. Thank you.

This company never responded which I believe is a very poor business practice.  I have a legitimate need and the means to get my project(s) done and yet not even a thank you but we're too busy right now.

We just completed our remodeling project with Sun Country Renovations, and we were very satisfied with the experience and results.  We were referred to Steve Garrett and Sun Country by another contractor who had good things to say about him.  After checking out Steve and his company online, we arranged a meeting with him.  We were immediately put at ease by his experience, expertise and ideas for our project.  The quote was fair and the negotiated payment terms were reasonable, so we engaged him for our project.

The first thing that impressed us was the diligence shown by Steve's team in keeping our home as clean as possible during the demolition phase.  Steve is a stickler for keeping the job site clean throughout the project, and all of his subcontractors showed the same care.  

The second thing that impressed us was the quality of the work by ALL the subcontractors, including tile work, drywall, and painting.  The subcontractors did careful, quality work and obviously took pride in their trade.  They were also polite, punctual, and pleasant. We trusted them in our home.

All throughout our project Steve gave us good advice and probably steered us away from making some mistakes along the way.  He has a good eye for design and color and what could work within our vision for what we wanted.  We really appreciated his input.

In the end what matters most is the final result, and we are truly happy with the outcome.  The work is high quality and looks amazing.  Steve earned our trust, and we will definitely use him again in the future!

A big thank you to Steve and his team for saving our kitchen remodel. Our previous contractor wouldn't fix their poor installation. We were left scrambling to find someone to take on the job and do it the right way. We are very happy that SCR did it right from demo to install. We are so happy we finally got what we wanted and our kitchen looks beautiful!

We had a leak in the wall behind our shower and had to pretty much gut the bathroom for this remodel. Sun Country gave me a reasonable quote and was very responsive throughout the whole project. Frankly he was very patient with me as I developed my own plan and details for the work. He made sound recommendations, the craftsmanship of the work was good and the end product looks terrific. This work was done about 1 year ago. We did have one problem with the shower drain that required them to do a repair. Stephen responded quickly and did the repair without a charge and without discussion.

We worked with Steve and Sun Country on our home in central Phoenix. We took out a load bearing wall to open the space and needed a very large glu-lam beam put up to support our flat roof after the wall was down. Steve gave us a fair estimate and even worked with us on adjusting it if we were able to do some of the work ourselves. They started the job on time and finished basically when Steve said they would. The subs were very professional and took pride in their work, specifically the plumbing and HVAC subs. The plumber even fixed a pipe under our foundation that was nicked when the concrete guys were taking out some of the foundation to install footings. Even when there was a slight hiccup Steve made sure to address it right away and resolved the issue very quickly. I highly recommend Steve and Sun Country and hope to work with them again.

Steve and his team renovated our 1950s Arcadia Lite home this summer. We met with nearly 10 contractors to get quotes and Steve's pricing and schedule were in line with or better than most but we went with Steve based on the comfort level we had with him after our first meeting. Steve asks all the right questions and provided suggestions and inputs that made our project so much better. Our work included removing multiple load bearing walls and installing beams in our ceiling and support footers; associated drywall work and some additional drywall work; installation of all new flooring and baseboards; retexturizing of the entire great room ceiling; movement of electrical switches and outlets and installation of new recessed lighting and chandeliers/fixtures; plumbing in our laundry room; addition of a tankless water heater and the associated electrical work; removal of microwave and cabinetry and replacement with a range hood and accent backsplash in the kitchen; and the addition of an island in our kitchen.  Steve was a great communicator and the only reason the project took longer and cost more than originally quoted was because of work scope we added.  In fact, Steve offset some of that increased cost with cost reductions in other areas.  We couldn't be happier with the results and when we complete additional renovations over time in our home we will contact Sun Country Renovations without question.

We hired Sun Country for some odd jobs and there is no job that is too small or too big for these guys to accomplish. As nerve wrecking and stressful it is to do renovations to your house these guys have not only exceeding our expectations, but they're extremely communicative to reassure that everything would be completed by the deadline that we agreed to. If you're looking for a company that takes pride in their work, and are affordable, I highly recommend Sun Country. I will never go anyone else- Steve is the best! I'll be sure to post pictures once our home is furnished.

I used Sun Country for several projects (flooring, carpeting, small construction as well as design ideas) and I found Steve to be professional and knowledgeable.  Most of all, I found all of his sub-contractors to be of very high quality.  They were responsive, courteous and meticulous in their workmanship.  Overall we were very pleased with the outcome and would definitely use them again.

Before I say a word, I'll sum up my review by saying that Steve and Willie are quality people who do quality work. I remodeled a home in Phoenix that was in deplorable condition. It was extra stressful because I live in Chicago and needed to do this remotely on a budget. Steve and Willie far exceeded my expectations and made the entire experience a pleasure. They were constantly on site and brought in quality and honorable sub-contractors. They are true craftsmen and meticulous in every way.  I found Steve to be very fair in price. In addition to them going above and beyond, I feel like I've made two new friends. I have worked with contractors in Chicago but have never had a more stress free experience than working with Sun Country Renovations. I cannot say enough!!!

Sun Country Renovations was an awesome company to work with on our home improvements.
They renovated two bathrooms and the kitchen. They were on time, affordable and extremely easy to work with during the process. Our renovations were completed in the time frame they gave us and done to perfection. We are looking forward to our next project with Sun Country Renovations!

Stephen Garrett and his crew renovated our Scottsdale condo. The price he quoted was the end price, the quality of the work was good and they were very responsible and responsive. We were so impressed that we recommended them to a friend for their house in Phoenix.  That was a much bigger job and our friends were also very satisfied. We highly recommend Sun Country for Phoenix area renovations.

I was lucky enough to have a friend refer Sun Country Renovations to me, and I'm happy to recommend them to anyone else looking for a good contractor!  I had a wall demo'ed in my house (which, of course, also means electrical work, dry wall repairs, painting, and tile repairs).  Steve provided the most detailed quote I've seen, outlining every piece of the project and the cost.  He also provided me a very clear schedule, showing what would be happening each day, and listing the names of the people working the job.  He projected 6 days for the whole project, and it ended up going 7, but only because some rain resulted in a little more time needed for the drywall mud to dry.  Steve checked in on the project every step of the way.  Every person working my job was professional, courteous, and very clean!  They went out of their way to contain any mess at the start of each day, and then cleaned up everything before they left at the end of each day.  I have another remodeling project coming up, and I'll be using Sun Country again without a doubt.
