Talked with Pat on a busy day. He was upfront and honest, he couldn't get a guy out right away.  Not what I wanted to hear, but the truth. All in all, this place does what they say - even when it's not the news you want to hear.

So somewhere along the line, I convinced myself that everything was fine, and the bathtub was really too large to expect a heater to fully fill, and it takes awhile for faucets to heat up, and that the odor I noticed and everyone else didn't in the shower was in my head, and that they wouldn't be able to get the heater out of the closet anyway.  After 18 years, my condos original water heater gave up on subtlety and completely died last month.  Zero hot water and it was time to admit maybe something was amiss.

Mac was amazing and responded to my voice mail with a quick text.  He gave a reasonable quote and didn't try to up sell.  He had someone out the next morning.  It took some creative planning for those guys to figure out how to get the old heater out but they did it with ease in the end.  My fiancée asked them at one point how much longer before the new heater was in place and they said it was already installed!  

Mac checked up a week later and we are reveling in hot water!  Thanks for making a frantic crisis shockingly painless.

We recently had a water heater leak and had a great experience with Rescue Plumbing. They were very responsive and sent a professional at the same day. The plumber confirmed the call 10 mins before he arrived. He analyzed the root cause issue was the valve worn out and suggested to replaced a new brass valve.  He fixed it very quick and our water heater is no loner leaking. He is professional and helpful and also explain how to maintain it in he future. We will definitely use them again. Thank you!

Our toilet flooded in the middle of the night on a Sunday. I didn't want to risk serious water damage, so I did a quick search & found fast response from Discount Plumbing. I requested a quote on yelp and they responded within minutes & they said a technician can come out & gives me a FREE quote with no obligation. They arrived in minutes and my toilet soon was able to flushing like it was brand new! I appreciate them walking in with booties and walking me through the whole process & answering my questions. Definitely took the customer service to another level with that. Plus, the 10% coupon helped..

Scott responded right away, was very easy to work with, solved the problem and charged a very reasonable rate.

I've dealt with plumbers who are good at their work, but bad at communicating, and others that communicate well but don't do the job very effectively.  Scott is the best of both worlds.  He sent me several texts over the course of 24 hours updating his status and ETA.  That's a real comfort when you need the plumber there right away.  Highly recommended.

UPDATE: Brian, the owner, immediately reached-out following this review concerned about our experience. We contacted him and walked through everything. He offered to correct the issue at no additional charge, bring all necessary parts, and send plumbers he could personally vouch for. They completely redid the toilet and redid the piping under the sink. The correction was above and beyond what we would have expected.

I can appreciate that things don't always go as planned and the response is even more critical. He wasn't defensive but really wanted to help us out. At 7 months pregnant without working plumbing - I certainly appreciate how easy he made it.

Not a good experience. Highlights:

-had them come out to quote work for a faucet, disposal and toilet fix
-told us the parts we needed to supply and we had them ready to go
-show up and immediately say we need valves replaced for another $300. If it was that blatantly visible why was it not included on the quote?
-insist that the drainage is correct even though the individual who quoted us said it was absolutely wrong and needed to be changed or overflow from a blockage would go into our dishwasher - at a minimum they need to get their story straight. We still paid the full quoted price even though none of this was adjusted.
- didn't look closely enough at the toilet issue upon quoting to let us know we needed a new handle. Ok, I can take part of that blame we should have asked/had greater general awareness. But, because of that the job was left incomplete. From a pricing standpoint, initially I was told the toilet would be tossed in for free, then the quote was amended to $97 for the toilet which we were charged and told it's be another $90 to come back and install the handle - basically, double. So we still have a non-functioning toilet.
-the job took several hours to complete with at least one extended break (for a faucet, disposal and toilet)
-they were on time and generally pleasant to us
- could not supply a labor warranty to us upon completion

-pricey, conflicting stories and an inability to correctly quote even in home results in 2 stars..

We had a nasty problem with our plumbing. Apparently, when the house was built 77 years ago, there was a problem with the pipes underneath our basement floor, which came to a head and caused drainage problems in our basement bathroom. Two different handymen were unable to unclog the pipe, so we called in this company. They were incredibly patient and professional, moving from a simple fix to more complicated, and finally doing the necessary work of digging into the basement floor. Throughout this whole effort, they were extremely courteous, concerned about bringing dirt into the house, and communicated with us regularly about the progress of this project. I highly recommend them. And, they like brownies.

Windy City Plumbing are an amazing group of people. We have an ongoing issue with some back-flow from on of our drain pipes and Chris has come out a number of times to help us relieve the issue. They have gone out of their way to help us keep our building honest and stress that it's a building issue and not a local issue. They are courtesy and always go out of their way to make sure we are being taken care of. We will definitely be calling them for any future needs. We appreciate them greatly!

We had our first plumbing issue since becoming homeowners and after reaching out for a quote through Yelp-Jose not only responded immediately but was able to come over and remedy the issue 30minutes later! He was prompt, courteous, informative, honest, and fair$. I am excited to have found our go-to plumber for any future issues we may have. Cannot recommend Jose (& his team) enough!

Kevin from Green Tech has a laid back, friendly, interpersonal style, but he is very honest and professional. We needed some work done on our sump pump backup system. Kevin came out and gave a free estimate, suggested we first try replacing a fuse in case we were lucky enough that it was causing the problem, and even came out and replaced the fuse for free when we couldn't figure it out. We ended up needing a new backup system after all, but he was very thorough in explaining options and absolutely did not pressure us. He noted a few other things that were done incorrectly by other plumbers, but when I asked about fixing them he recommended we just keep an eye on it and not to waste money if it wasn't going to cause problems. They did a great job installing the sump pump backup, and were even flexible with a payment plan for us.

The guys were friendly and informative. They also were more than kind to my curious 4 year old that wanted to know exactly what they were doing. They gave advice and suggestions. They seemed trustworthy and not just out to scam you for more money which is really appreciated. It's more important than ever with costs of things going up. I know it's a necessary thing to have done but it's refreshing to know that they informed me how to keep this from being a yearly thing or a major undertaking/large repair job. Thank you!

Adam was very professional and knowledgeable. He helped me clean and maintain my sump pump as well a upgrade it. He gave advice as to how better maintain the equipment. He also looked at the big picture and gave feedback on other areas outside of the issue he was resolving.

Enis did a great job fixing a shorted out breaker and replacing some outlets. Work was done quickly in a single visit. They had availability a couple days after I called.

Poor communication also. Dimitri said he'd think about it, when I proposed a resolution where they paid for part and I'd pay for part of it. Then ghosted me. Also was very aggressive and mocking on the phone. Not someone you want to do business with.

Noel was very professional and I would Highly recommend him to any homeowner.  He replaced drainlines for my kitchen sink.  He was also able to come out the same day that I called about the leak.  I will be using him again and recommend him to all my friends and family!
