Jake came out on a Saturday Labor Day weekend to help with standing in my basement. He was so friendly and professional explained everything and it turned out to be just a jammed float in our ejector. He refused to even charge the full service fee and just took a small amount of money! Blown away! Highly recommend and will definitely be calling them when we need to do the next project! Martin is so bad, he charged me $100 for put two lights and hang two paintings for 30 mins work, he overcharged me, please be careful ask the price first! Never never use he again!!!

Quick: I needed to replace my overhead microwave unit in my apartment. I reached out to 8-10 different handyman services, fixer was the first to respond. They also were the first to give a quote that was responsible and didn't look the haggle.

Communicative: when fixer reaches out, they have a texting service that they communicate through and have you save in your phone. The texting service Walk's through payment, scheduling, and any changes or updates. After scheduling me a few days later a new appointment time opened up and the texting service alerted me and I made the appointment for the new time.

Professional: fixer had two people come. As soon as they checked in, I received an email/text that said the people had checked in and their estimate for job length. They best their estimated time by 30 minutes which saved me substantial dollars from the initial estimate.

Pro tip: use the Yelp handyman feature for looking for a handy man.

Sent out a request for a plumber to fix an exterior hose connection and by noon the next day Emergency Plumbing had fixed the issue. They were very easy to communicate with and gave a quote through Yelp (rather than making you pay a $50 service call to give an estimate like most other plumbers). The fix was quick and easy and payment was a breeze as well. I would recommend this business and use them again if necessary (but hopefully not necessary!)

We had a horrid sulfuric smell emanating from our basement and making the entire house smell like an exploded port-o-potty. A problem with our sewer drains and grease traps were the culprits. This was a reoccurring problem in the house, but this was the most severe case. Frustratingly enough, we'd recently had another company come out just a few weeks before to (expensively) address the issue permanently. Clearly, it didn't work. When ACE responded to my call, Rich had a thorough conversation to help understand the problem and history. When ACE came, they were friendly and on time. After the assessment, Rich explained the previous company addressed only one of the FIVE drains in our basements. The last company didn't even note/check the other drains. Rich could not have been more patient walking me through our problem, the sources, his remediation plans and recommendations for future maintenance. Pricing was clear and competitive before the team started any work. It has been months and I'm so glad ACE's fix was truly a permanent solution!
Lastly, I had another plumbing issue (much simpler), and Rich was so kind to give me a diy solution that worked like a charm--his rationale: I don't want charge you for something that could possibly be an easy fix. He even offered to be on the phone and walk me through the solution if I needed help. These guys will be my go-to moving forward.

I called them because they were in the area. They came fast and very convenient. Not sure if they where pricey but got the job  in less than an hour from time of call.

Terry was super helpful when our Sump Pump went out during the recent storm, he was immediately available to come assess the situation and offer solution to get us back on our feet. He was really timely, fair in his pricing, and easy to work with. I'd recommend his services without hesitation!!

We had a clogged tub and bathroom sink. Calling Thompson Plumbing was the best decision we made. They were on time and cleaned out our drains for us.
We will use Thompson Plumbing again for any plumbing needs in our home.

After stupidly trying to fix my toilet myself, I cranked a pipe a little too hard and water started flowing. Tim showed up quickly to help, fixed the leak and let me know about some inherent problems with my current toilet. Tim suggested a good replacement at an affordable price.

Tim was polite, professional, and always tried to find the best deal for me.

We called Body plumbing to repair one of our leaking backflow valves. He gave us good price on the repair and he even came twice to work on it after the first attempt did not come out right at no extra charge. His pricing however on testing was good but we found better so we will use another company for yearly testing. We will definitively call him again to get pricing in the future though.

Needed to find a new Backflow inspection company for our home - as our previous vendor chose to shoot up prices beyond our budget.
I was very pleased to have discovered Chicago Backflow.
People I dealt with like Nick, Tiffany, Jessica - and our technician Alan are all superb.  I get the sense this company must be managed very well, because everyone has a very nice attitude and exudes warmth.
Alan showed up right on time at 7am (even with snow falling) and was efficient and had a very kind demeanor.
Price was appropriate.

Thank you, Jon!  I had him out to fix my shower faucet, and he took care of it.  Jon even showed me what to do for minor maintenance issues.  He also tightened/realigned my sink faucet at no charge.  He was on time, on budget (less than Vanguard), and everything works!

PS... make sure you call Jon at The Plumbing Doctor not John at A Plumbing Doctor.  Two different people and two different companies.

North Coast Sewer & Drainage installed a flood control system for my home.   I highly recommend them because they adjusted their schedule to meet my need, offered competitive pricing (best of 4 quotes), did the work they said they would do (in one day),  and included restoration of the front lawn at no extra charge.  North Coast obtained the permit and handled the municipal inspection.  The work crew were professional and tidy.  

What made North Coast stand out for me was how they handled additional work.  They sealed the old interior check valve-pit - which I forgot to mention at time of quote - at not extra charge.  A competitor wanted an additional $2,500 to seal the interior pit and perform unnecessary work - a pipe stint.  I am happy that I called North Coast!

So plumber came out the same day, rotted one stack said the other didn't need rotting.  Now my plumbing is more screwed up then it was before he came.  I ran the washer and all the water for the washer is now being pushed into the kitchen sink, and water is leaking from the stack. Not sure what he did to screw up the plumbing, but now I need another plumber to come out and fix the mistake this company made.

Jim returned my call right away and came to fix my shower water pressure in a prompt and professional manner. My water pressure has never been stronger! Very pleased with his services.

Very pleased with J Blanton Plumbing!  I called around to some other plumbers before contacting them.  When I called a very friendly woman answered the phone right away.  She promptly scheduled me for a 3 hour window, and the plumber Jake showed up on time!  Jake was professional, friendly, and clearly explained to me my plumbing issues.  I will definitely call them again in the future!
