I can recommend Connell Plumbing without hesitation. We had an issue with our catch basin which they diagnosed very efficiently. We decided to have the catch basin removed, and they recommended an excellent plumbing contractor (Morning, Noon and Night) since this project was beyond an ordinary plumbing project. In the future, if we have a need for a plumber, Connell will be our go-to choice.

Ever since I got a new faucet in the bathroom sink, I've had trouble with clogging in the drain. I relied on handymen to unclog it. This time I called Tim Stefl Plumbing. Will did a great job in getting the clog out, and also put in a small part that lets me pull out the stopper completely, so I can clean it before a clog starts to build up. In 25 minutes the job was done. Excellent! Highly recommended.

Reliable, easy to communicate, timely and quality work. He installed holiday lights for me and moved two TV's across the rooms on wall mountings. Highly recommend and value for money.

I recently called this plumber for an emergency situation with my kitchen sink and was blown away by his exceptional service. He was quick to respond and arrived promptly and worked efficiently to fix the sink (and even cleaned the kitchen afterward). His knowledge and expertise in the field was evident and he was able to offer helpful suggestions to prevent future issues. The plumber was also friendly, professional, and respectful. I highly recommend this plumber and will definitely be using their services again in the future. Five stars all around!

Of course on the hottest day when we needed air conditioning, ours failed. Since we have used Stephens for many years, we had confidence in brands they recommend as well as service they provide. They were swamped but came within a couple days, and since we had an old system, took the time to bring us up to date on new equipment, laying out options of cost and efficiency. We also needed a new heating system and water heater. All in all, they replaced everything, were extremely neat, and considerate of our schedule by coming a day earlier than they had planned, and finished in the time frame they predicted....an expensive project so wanted, and got, reliable skilled workmen.

Augustine responded very quickly when my in-laws were having issues with an upstairs toilet.  He came out same day and when it turned to be a simple issue, he didn't charge a service visit fee and showed them how to fix it and maintain it.  They really appreciated his honesty because they are retired and on a fixed income.  Thank you!

Tom was great we had our two sump pumps go out and he installed our spare sump pump in just a little while for an excellent price. I will definitely use Tom again. He has been one of the most responsive and excellent contractors I have hired on Thumbtack! Definitely call Tom!

A few years ago we were struck by lightening... It blew out electricity and some of our plumbing... Lane owner of Whiting Plumbing, came to the rescue and repaired what needed to be repaired... He was so pleasant and did take such PRIDE IN HIS WORK we decided to upgrade our old plumbing... He made us feel very comfortable and we felt the estimate was pretty REASONABLE for the amount of work that we chose to have done... He returns calls promptly... He has been on time for any appointment made... AND he stands behind his work... Very knowledgeable in his field... VERY PLEASED... * * *

Since moving into This Old House 2 1/2 years ago we've found issues left and right that needed fixing.   For almost that entire length of time, our upstairs toilet was out of commission.  The downstairs one always had to have the handle held to flush completely.  Also we discovered a leak in the basement everytime we flushed it.   The kitchen faucet was constantly leaking.  The basement laundry basin was nonfunctional and in recent months the upstairs sink kept getting clogged.    In short it was a mess.

Of course we had to prioritize that against old gutters, inefficient windows, an old radiator, and general maintenance.   To top it off I was laid off last September.   So money of course was as Simply Red would sing..too tight to mention.    Yep showing my age.

Things thankfully turned around for the time being and we finally were able to tackle the plumbing this summer.

I searched Yelp and Chalmers was among the three I reached out to.   One I didn't hear back from and Chalmers and another company reached back saying to contact for more details.

I read the Yelp reviews of the remaining contender and those scared me off.  I saw Chalmers had all positive  (albeit only a few).  

I took a chance and am glad I did.  David was courteous on phone as I detailed all that needed to be done.  I scheduled a free estimate and he came by promptly as D showed him our situation.

The price he came back with seemed pretty fair so I agreed to have him do the work.    He finished everything on my laundry list within 2 hours.   It ended up for the toilets that both had shoddy work on the wax ring which caused the leaking.    Replacing the toilets and putting the wax ring properly solved the leaking issue.  He was very professional and through during the whole visit.    And I was very pleased with the results.

David's the real deal.  If you need any kind of plumbing work, take a chance on him.   Flush the rest...LOL.

Paul and Dave came the same day I called. They replaced our primary sump pump and the battery for the backup. I especially appreciated them taking time to explain how it all worked and what the typical lifetime of the equipment was.

They did some sump pump and septic repairs for me. Pricing was good and they were very responsive and reliable. I'd definitely recommend them.

This is the first time using this company and the service was great!!  Called in the  morning and Mr. Travis was here by early afternoon. He is professional and knowledgeable.  If you're in need of quality plumbing services at a fair price, he's your man.  Would definitely call again.

I used Karl Meyer recently after calling a couple plumbers I normally use and chose Karl because he's responsive, diligent, got the work done.  Wasn't a small endeavor, replaced 18-20' of cast iron pipe from a home built in the 1950's ranch.  I knew it would be around $1,800 - $2,000 with all the labor (6 hrs and two guys) and they actually came in under the estimate ($1,700).  Did a professional job and got it done.  What more you want in a plumber?

They were timely and diligent. Gave us notice when they were on their way, cleaned up behind themselves, and walked us through what was happening, and left us with a little advice for maintenance in the future.

Be aware of some issues I had as a customer.
I had an appointment with Four Season with a 3 hour window...they didn't show and didn't even call...I had waited the 3 hours. I made another appointment because I needed three hose spigots repaired due to a little leaking. Perhaps new ones are needed?, I asked. The plumber said they were. He was so obese he had trouble reaching under the kitchen cabinet to take a look...so I held a flashlight for him and he looked from afar. He had such extreme body oder (not perspiration...more acrid than that) that it was hard to be near him to talk. I also needed a new thermostat installed in my shower...I had the part from the manufacturer. I asked how much it would be to install the thermostat..he quoted $374.00 and the new spigots would be $587.00 each...I needed 3 (wow!). He said I needed to cut into the walls to install cut-off valves for them, even though I can turn the water off for the building. He would have to cut holes in two of my interior walls and one wall under my kitchen cabinet 13 x 13 inches and I would have to hire a carpenter to put plates over the holes (pretty!), because they don't do carpentry. He had told me they would have to come back to do the work, since he wasn't a plumber...he said he was an assessor. Five times he said they needed 24 hour notice to others in the building (two other units). I told him (5 times) that the other units were aware and agreed to my turning off the water that day. Something was wrong...he was hard to understand and at times made no sense, it was hard to follow him. I told him I had hoped to get my shower fixed that day since I had the part...he then said he would install it...(he was a plumber after all!!). He had told us the prices and wanted to have a signature to OK the quote even if it was for a later date. I didn't notice he had changed the quote for the shower to $550.00, maybe after I signed. It took 45 minutes). He said he checked after installation and all was working perfectly. When he left...he had shut off the cold water to the shower in error and the water was 110 degrees and could not be turned down (Yikes!!!)  Later I asked him why the charge had changed from what he quoted. He told me it was because I wasn't doing all the work at once, since I decided to postpone the spigot work until later. (He hadn't told me that.) Another guy came the next day to correct his faulty work. This guy was great. A couple of days later, my neighbor had a handyman doing some work and I asked him to take a look. He said the spigots only needed a couple of cheap washers which were easy to install from the outside and showed me how to do it (scam alert!!!). Dealing with customer service was difficult too. They said they weren't known for being inexpensive! I eventually got a refund for the change in price from the verbal quote...but only after the mention of the BBB of Chicago. Previously, they just seemed to want to argue.
PersonalIy, I would never trust them. It seems that they are more interested seeing how much money they can get out of you than doing good honest work, which they didn't do either. I saved about $1800.00 by not doing the unnecessary work they suggested. Btw, my plumbing was only 20 years old and had been inspected by the city and passed. Everything was up to code.

Where to start! I woke up this morning to my toilet aggressively over flowing into my apartment and bedroom. I tried fixing but made issue worse. My apartment was beginning to look like a fish bowl. Minus the fish and pebbles. As a kid, I always wished for a flood because I thought it'd be cool to be able to go swimming in your house. My childhood dream almost came true until JBlanton plumbing arrived. A young gentleman by the name of Dooley short for Kyle Dooley (I guess) came a knocking. I felt like Maucauley Culkin in Home Alone when his parents finally returned home. All in all, from time of call to arrival was 20 minutes. He fixed my toilet, gave me a couple different options to choose from, and we settled on fair price. Honestly I wanted to pay more. I couldn't believe the urgency JBlanton had after I shared my situation. Can't wait for my toilet to break again so I can see good work in action.
