I'm a home owner and recently did a complete gut of bathroom plumbing in my home but unfortunately I didn't get it all quite right. When the Village inspector came by he was very kind and gave me a specific list of things that needed to be reworked to bring the plumbing up to code. At some point I decided I'd rather just hire a plumber who can do the work. That's when I called Connell.
They arrived on time which I appreciated but that was the only place they scored positive points with me. The two men who came out were boisterous, loud, rude and talked all over each other - which was very confusing to sort through to figure out what they were actually saying. One of the men stepped into a brand new tub with his work boots... really? You couldn't have pointed out the copper work from outside the tub? But I digress.
What they did tell us was this - We're going to have to pull it all out and start over... well, half the water can stay but everything else is wrong. When I asked specifically what was wrong with the PVC I was told that I used the wrong kind of PVC to which I replied, I thought Schedule 40 PVC was acceptable whereby they informed me that I had not used schedule 40 PVC. The pipe has SCH 40 printed right on the side.
When I asked about the water I was told that all my water lines need to be 3/4 and I had used 1/2 in certain places. The men from Connell informed me that while the 1/2 wouldn't affect performance that it was simple not up to code. I challenged the men on their point as 1.) I had specifically asked the village inspector what size copper to use BEFORE I installed it and 2.) the inspector had already come by and had no quams with the diameter of my copper pipe. After a pause one of the service men responded Well, it depends on the specific situation but when I pushed him to tell me which circumstances required the treatment he was prescribing he informed me that it specifically pertained to the installation of a whirlpool tub.... which we don't have and could be clearly seen as our normal, standard tub is already in place.
Did we end up using their service? No, we didn't so I can't speak to the quality of the work. They wanted $6000 to do the work and of course that's before complications and scope creep which are inevitable with a project of this size. FYI- we had another plumber give us a quote and he quoted us $1600 for the same work.
Final verdict - pass on these guys or at the very least get a second opinion. I was appalled by the dishonesty displayed on our site visit.

Outstanding quality of work. Brandon has ability to solve problems and make good decisions. Great communicator during all phases of repair or installation. He always asks homeowner's preference.
I requested a second stair rail for safety. He made a duplicate of the original oak rail in shape and color. So impressive!
I've had Brandon back several times and will continue to do so. He is a craftsman and an artist.

I recently called this plumber for an emergency situation with my kitchen sink and was blown away by his exceptional service. He was quick to respond and arrived promptly and worked efficiently to fix the sink (and even cleaned the kitchen afterward). His knowledge and expertise in the field was evident and he was able to offer helpful suggestions to prevent future issues. The plumber was also friendly, professional, and respectful. I highly recommend this plumber and will definitely be using their services again in the future. Five stars all around!

We live in a first floor condo and discovered water backing up into our kitchen sink from the units above. The condo association contracts with Stephens plumbing, and a plumber was dispatched to our place very quickly. He roto-rooted the pipes, and had the huge clog undone in short order.
The plumber was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Even though we didn't have to pay because our condo association covers these charges, I would recommend Stephens for anyone in the area looking for a plumber.

We had an issue with our sink and there was a leak all over our basement. Although not a super emergency, he came out right away and fixed it. We have not had problems since. Great to have great professionals in our neighborhood who can provide quick, efficient, and affordable services. Support local businesses.

Tom was great we had our two sump pumps go out and he installed our spare sump pump in just a little while for an excellent price. I will definitely use Tom again. He has been one of the most responsive and excellent contractors I have hired on Thumbtack! Definitely call Tom!

Whiting Plumbing does quality work for a reasonable price! They don't advertise too much so you must have been referred to them by family or friends. Lane is knowledgeable and prompt! We've used Whiting Plumbing to re-pipe our old house with new copper pipes, put in a new higher toilet, unclog and put a new wax ring on our upstairs toilet, and complete the plumbing when we installed a new tub! He also installed a new wash tub and faucet in the basement and installed a new faucet in the kitchen! I feel Lane is honest and reliable. I would recommend Whiting Plumbing to anyone who needs a plumbing problem solved!

The plumber I last used was very good, but he does not work on Saturday. I did not want to wait until Monday because the drain I had a problem with was the laundry tub drain that my water softener and iron filter also use. I already pulled the tub out and when my hand snake could not clear the drain I called Chalmers after I saw the very good reviews on Yelp. He gave me an estimate for rooting the drain over the phone and I told him to do the job. He came out within a few hours, cleared the drain and charged exactly what was quoted. The 60 day free rooting service warranty for the same drain was a nice warranty they offer. I would highly recommend Chalmers for 24 hour or any regular plumbing service. I can tell you who not to call. You have probably seen their yellow billboards all over advertising 24 hour plumbing service. If you do not mind giving someone all your money call them. You will probably end up paying the monthly rent for one of their billboards after you pay the bill!

just plain rude! calling for a service and kept insisting i'm doing a sales call how could a business treat future customers like that?! first of all if you're professional w/ what you do you need to learn how to listen FIRST and asses. your customers explanation before you jump in to some sort of BS conclusions. that's not how you do business!

Highly recommend Arrow Plumbing.
We purchased a home from an over zealous do-it-yourselfer who caused more harm than good.
Bruce was very thorough, explained everything to us, and completed more work than we originally requested without pressing for time.
The cost was on par with what we expected and it was well worth it.

Our ejector pump went out and John was able to be here within an hour. He provided excellent service and we couldn't be happier.

This is the first time using this company and the service was great!! Called in the morning and Mr. Travis was here by early afternoon. He is professional and knowledgeable. If you're in need of quality plumbing services at a fair price, he's your man. Would definitely call again.

They came within a reasonable time (2 1/2 hours )from when I called for service. Unfortunately they only rodded for 30 minutes. As soon as they cut some roots and water got through they stopped. For $300 they could have rodded some more roots at least for another 15-30 minutes especially since they were not providing any type of warranty. Drain clogged up again in 2.5 months.

Very knowledgeable, professional, reasonably priced and personable in fixing a bad leak. Would definitely try to use them again.

So far so good. Have a odd space where my toilet sits under a banjo counter. need to replace it and out of 3 companies, this one is so far the best. The came same day and right on time. Actually took measurements and promised to get back in a day or there about with a firm estimate once they locate a model that will fit. Professional and responsive. I will update once estimate received and if I choose them for the work. I sued them for an HVAC replacement and they were excellent, so I bet they will pretty darn good ont he plumbing as well. Wish us luck!

We placed a NO HOT WATER call back on February 19, 2022 for an 8 Unit Condo building that our office manages. Tech came out the following day and placed a call to their Supervisor to help assess the situation over the phone. They determined that a new, larger system was required. Installation was scheduled for 2 days later. They required a deposit of half the balance and the remainder upon completion. They were barely going to leave the property once the installation was completed, until payment was received (which they ended up driving to my home office to pick up a company check). COST = $4,400. Less than 2 weeks later, there were reports of issues with water temperature and/or pressure. Full disclosure, Residents of this building had experienced issues in the past, but they had gotten worse after the installation of this larger system. They did come out a couple of times, to check things out, at no additional charge, but one visit resulted in installing a part that has proven to be pointless. With that visit, they would not leave until payment was received. One of the Unit Owners had to use their own credit card on the spot. COST = $678. When they came back out in mid March, some adjustments were made to the equipment and that was followed up by poor attempts to access units to see if that had helped matters. Not once did the tech on site give my office a call to get help in accessing units. About three weeks later (mid-April), we sent, via email, what each unit was experiencing with the water pressure and/or temperatures. We had to follow up the first week of May to have a tech come back out. For that visit, we were told that they needed to gain access to every single unit. Owners and Tenants had to change their plans or work schedules for that day to be present. I even coordinated with one of the Unit Owners to get their keys, since they could not be present, and we wanted to make sure they'd be able to gain access to that particular Unit. By the time I arrived, their tech had come and gone...with no phone call letting me know. To be clear, I was on my way to the property when I found out their tech was arriving shortly. Point being, they were not there long at all. After at least 1-1/2 days of trying to get in touch with the owner or a manager, I was finally able to set up another visit for May 9th. For the SECOND time, I made arrangements for techs to gain access to each and every unit (as directed by J Blanton). For the SECOND time, Owners and Tenants had to change their plans or work schedules for that day to be present. I even coordinated with one of the Unit Owners to get their keys, since they could not be present, and we wanted to make sure they'd be able to gain access to that particular Unit. Upon my arrival at the Property at 11:20a, I could not see any of the techs around so I called their office only to be told that the techs had met with someone and saw what they needed to see and left...and to expect a proposal later that day...oh...and they really didn't need to get into every Unit. With the proposal, they provided the Condo Association with two options: 1) install an additional hot water heater for $6,215 and HOPE that it will resolve the issues or 2) install a traditional tank for $14,325 that will most likely resolve this Condo building's issues and concerns with water temperature and/or pressure. When I spoke with their specialist, I explained our frustration and disappointment in the way things had been handled and in their overall lack of communication. We believe that if they had as much motivation as they did in collecting payments, perhaps they would have done their due diligence from the beginning and suggested we install the equipment that would have likely resolved the issues from the start. We feel the Board could have made a better financial decision had the professionals at J Blanton advised and empowered us with more knowledge from their initial visit. Last week, we reached back out in hopes that we could resolve matters, but they have yet to reply.
