I was in a pickle! I had a leak and my bro-in-aw the plumber was out of town!  I had a leak in the supply valve for the whole house, a fixture that looked original to my 1920s era bungalow.  Every time I had to shut off the water to the whole house - because many of the fixtures do not have individual shut-offs - I crossed my fingers when I turned it back on.  Well the last time my luck ran out.  I came downstairs in my stocking feet and found the (new) wet carpeting soaked.  I had a leak.  Lacking my BILs support, I turned to Yelp and found a good review for JSR plumbing.  I called the number figuring Id be leaving a message while my carpeting moldered, but Jeff picked up.  I described the situation and he agreed to come over.  Jeff came over, tried to tighten things up but no dice.  He wound up figuring how to replace the whole leaky valve and was patient while I had to dick around with my town's permitting process.  Short story - no more leak.  Jeff apologized about the price but I disagreed (remember my BIL is a plumber) and countered that not only was the problem fixed but mucho anxiety alleviated when I have to turn the damn water off in the future.  

You wont go wrong with JSR plumbing.  And they will help you sleep at night.

I had called Szabo Plumbing to repair a leaky toilet wax ring on a tenants apartment and was quoted $275, which I considered fair, considering a licensed plumber and fully stocked truck would have to drive there and do the repair. What I didn't consider fair was when the shut off valve didn't work, they charged me an additional $200 to put a new one on. Now I understand if I called them out for just that repair, $200 may be reasonable, but they were already on site for the other repair.
Not to mention they never contacted for any additional approval prior to replacing it, just a text message from the plumber onsite stating the new total would be $475.
I contacted Wade, to discuss the upcharge and was told I actually recieved a discount as they normally charge $250.00 per valve, but he would talk to Kevin himself and see if anything could be done.
As I was away on vacation, I told him I would contact him in A week when we returned.....well, called him twice since returning, NO CALL BACKS.
I decided to check my Credit card, and now see, they not only charged me the $475, plus an additional $14.75, not sure for what reason, as I never received an itemized invoice e-mailed as promised.
I've always considered them fair in past work they had done for me, but as of now, have lost confidence in Szabo Plumbing and will no longer use them, nor recemmend them to friends and family

UPDATE: Upon  Kevin being made aware of this situation , he personnally reached out to me, apologized for the error, and made things right. I will continue to recemmend them and use them as a first choice for my future plumbing needs.
It just shows he is truely compassionate about customer satisfaction, THANK YOU AGAIN KEVIN FOR TAKING TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY DAY TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Very responsive. They replaced the sump pump quickly. Their prices are also reasonable.

Had an emergency where a valve broke in my shower and needed quick service. They were here in an hour and very professional. Also explained everything to me and showed me what they were doing. Worked around my budget as well. Great people!

I could not be more happy with Roc's. They rodded out my main and were nice enough to guide my jack of all trades, master of none husband in the right direction. I saved a lot of money and from my experience with plumber's they could charge whatever they want and you will pay because we all need water in our home, right? Not these guys though!! Rocco himself actually came to my house to assure me that everything was going to be fine and that if anything went wrong he would work with me on payment!! I can't even begin to say how happy I am with them!

Kevin really came to the rescue when I was out of hot water for days. He showed up in an HOUR when others said they were too busy to come out. He came, accessed the problem, restarted the hot water heater for me, waited to make sure it was still running over time, and the issue was fixed.

I can't thank him enough for his time and excellent service. I recommend Kevin and will definitely be calling him in the future!!

Dunbar's is great! Happy to find a great, reliable southside plumber. I called them this morning around 9am, and Angelo Dunbar himself came out within an hour. We had a leak from our tub that was causing water to drip into the ceiling of the room below. Angelo gave me an estimate, then ran out for parts. He returned only 3 hours later, ready to fix it! Turned out to be a bad gasket seal on the overflow valve, which he replaced easily. He also tightened up the nuts around the base of our drain, keeping it from draining while my kids are in the tub. To top it off, he and his assistant cleaned up the drywall mess they had to cut through to fix the problem. Excellent service! Everything taken care of the day I called! Thanks, Angelo!

We recently bought our first house and have had some questions on plumbing just to be prepared when we need to do things such as repairs or maintenance.  Don has been extremely responsive and helpful with a variety of questions and is always direct and to the point.  We will be planning to use him when we have future plumbing needs - we are very appreciative of the time he has spent helping us out.

Used them twice.  Once for a drain block and once for a bad kitchen faucet that had to be replaced.  

Helped guide me in the right direction of a new faucet as well so that the process of the purchase wasn't overwhelming or one I'd later regret with a bad product.

Had a tub stoppage. I contacted on Yelp and they came the next morning. Incredibly communicative and friendly and helpful. Cleared the stoppage and we have not had a problem since. Thank you so much!!

Can't thank Above the Rest Plumbing enough for fixing our emergency plumbing issue. They came out on a Saturday didn't charge me for the visit came back Sunday morning and with in few hours the issue was fixed. They do great work, honest, dependable, and efficient. I can't recommend them enough.

When I was younger, like, say 17 to 19, I worked summers with a highly regarded plumber in La Grange, IL.  We worked at everyone's home, it seemed, from Brookfield, La Grange, Western Springs, Oak Brook, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge and beyond.  Particularly in those last handful of towns I mentioned, we worked in what for me at that age were downright privileges.  Giving no addresses here, but on many an occasion we were seen in and out by an escort service - or maybe better to call it a Butler Service as I don't want minds going the wrong way.  I was back and forth to the truck, footies back on and back to the Quarters, the truck, the Quarters, and so on.  I sure did need to go to that truck a lot!  And back.  And ironically, today, I am a University educated Design/Builder.  Hmmm.  Anyway, it seemed that everywhere we worked or any store we stopped into, my boss, the Owner, was loved by all.  And we picked up work simply by being out and about, people seeing us and saying Hey Mike, We've had this problem, blah blah blah, could you come take care of it?  He'd smile and MAKE the time to very professionally show himself scheduling their appointment in his nice, clean books.  And sure enough, we would  be there as he said we would.  Some of the nastiest jobs (I was the young helper) we did with shoes off, foot covers on, etc.  WHY am I writing about this, my experience with a different plumber?  Because I am extremely critical after all of my GOOD experience.  Most don't meet my standards.  Plus, soon after that (youthful) experience, I changed my University Major from English/Journalism TO Industrial Technology/Construction Engineering.  I'm a tough customer AND the really big plumbing companies now work for me.  Sooo:

HINSDALE PLUMBING CO.  Victor is its owner and President.  Victor first worked in my home in Clarendon Hills, IL (next to Hinsdale) almost 18 yeas ago, around 1999 or 2000.  He was doing the work himself with the same professionalism, dignity and class that I knew existed, but was RARE.  In the years since, my wife and I have never hesitated to trust Victor and his company along with the fine young professionals he trains and trusts to represent him and perform the often laborious and/or complex troubleshooting and repairing of the waterworks we depend on each day and take 'so for granted'.  Usually, it takes losing warm water in the dead of winter, water pressure in the shower, the Kitchen, or worse, like our home last winter: sudden need for all new Laundry Machines, this summer: breakdown of our Water Heater Tank.  We know we can trust Hinsdale Plumbing Co. to be responsive, to keep their word on WHEN they will be there, and they will be fairly priced.  We have come to trust them enough to send them out to Lisle - outside their region! - to override the service team at a condo we own and take over.  We prefer having Hinsdale Plumbing service our Lisle (Four Lakes) Condominium rental.  You won't go wrong!

Professional, friendly, quick and fair. The best plumbers in the neighborhood. I only call Glennon when i need plumbing work done.

So if you're expecting a person from Good Plumbing to come out, you may be confused. They sent out a guy from a different plumbing company.  Why, I'm not sure but it is in my opinion that they should be up front about this or at least explain what is going to happen.

Here's my full story:  I made an appointment with Bill from Good Plumbing.  Waited on the day of appointment but since I had heard nothing I decided to give them a call to see if they were still coming.  He had completely forgotten and apologized.  That is fine since he waived the fee for the plumber to come out when we rescheduled (something that he eventually had forgotten he did after the rescheduled appointment by the way...).  I rescheduled for 9am... Bill reassured that he would get it right this time and even offered to make us a priority by stating that he'd get someone out here between 8 and 9.  The plumber called at 8:30 to say he'd be late... he eventually came at 10:10.  Gave me the excuse for his previous appointment taking longer than expected.  Did have an appointment  before 8am?  Did he forget that we were a priority?  Maybe, maybe not, I don't even care at this point.  I was also confused because the plumber ended up being from a different company than Good Plumbing.  Back to the issue at hand... I had a minor leak going on in my bathroom.  We basically just needed to repair the wax ring.  After getting a quote for the wax ring, I decided that the price was too high for me.  What bugs me more is that, after the plumber left, I get a call from Bill.  He tells me he will reduce the price by 25%.  I think to myself, wow that is a big price difference.  I was actually put off.  Why would you quote me a higher price from the beginning?

All in all, after speaking to both Bill and the plumber, this company is unorganized and gives me bad vibes. I did not have any work done with them but have communicated with them as well as had visit for a quote and I would be wary.

I had the drain to my sink and garbage disposal back up on me over the weekend. I called All Plumbing & Sewer on Monday morning and they were at my door within an hour. These guys had the problem resolved within a half hour and now the drain runs great! Pricing was very reasonable and the service excellent. I highly recommend.

Pete is a very knowledgeable plumber.  He is straightforward with the scope of the work and pricing and a very fair person to work with.  I appreciate his craftsmanship and use him whenever I have the need for a plumber.

Second review and another job well done by two polite, respectful gentlemen. I requested a quote and got a prompt response. The price was  the lowest and I shopped it. A & D has earned my loyal business.
