I DO NOT recommend Mike (He-Man Plumbing) & feel he is dishonest!
I called Michael Riley (Mike) for an emergency back up of our main line. After my brief description of the problem, he quickly assessed his price as to the minimum/hr charge regardless of it's duration. He dug a hole in my front yard which is on a slope, trying to find the clean-out for the main line.
After not finding the clean-out close to the street, he then dragged mud throughout my driveway & used the clean-out by my lawn, which is closer to the house & farther from the street where we suspected the problem was (Oak tree roots). He snaked the main line and claimed he ran out at 120' feet of snake & could go no further. Assuming there was no back up for the time being, the problem was solved!!!
Precisely two weeks later, which is today, I called to report that the problem wasn't solved, that sewage was surfacing from the clean-out. He responded that because it's a new problem, he had to charge me the $160/hr minimum to assess the problem. Monday being a busy day, he could not give me an estimate as to what time he might be around Los Altos area. He farther explained that he CAN'T take an hour of his time to come all the way from Palo Alto to Los Altos just to do one job...
I found out today he couldn't have snaked the full 120 feet because there was still a problem within 60' of the clean-out he used. He did not use a camera to check where the pipe might be clogged. He worked for 65-70 minutes & charged me for 2 hours ($320.00 dollars). He left the hole he dug open, & made no attempt to clean up the mud he dragged around.
Worst of all is that he wasn't honest about his work in the first place. He was not professional or courteous about making efforts to resolve the so called new problem, & did not guaranteed the work he performed only 2 weeks earlier.

Jerry is very reliable, honest and friendly. I had gas leaks at two sites of my house, and he was able to reseal the pipes to fix the leaks. PG&E ran a test after and verified there was no more leak. One of the gas leaks was coming from behind my Viking stove/oven unit, and he was able to carefully pull it out without damaging my hardwood floors and then reseal the gas pipe behind it. He didn't charge extra for multiple trips, great guy - I highly recommend him!

Very unprofessional. Set an appt with him and he never showed up. When trying to follow up with him he just hung up the phone.

We hired them to put on a shower fixture and do some odds and ends. the guy put the hose on backwards and never checked his work, this was in a rental property so we did not know this for a week. When I called him back he was nice enough to go over to check it out right away, but then things got worse. He said the parts were defective. When I told him how dissapointed I was that he had not checked his work so that we could have returned the item (which of course by now packaging had been thrown out) he got angry and told me to just get the part call him back and then never call him again. Needless to say we won't be calling him back. My husband took the hose off and turned it around and it works just fine. No defective parts what so ever.

Service was prompt and fixed all three items with good price.
1. Replaced the valve
2. Installed sprinkler irrigation
3. Repair broken pipe from the sprinkler
Service was fast and we confirmed issue was fixed. Satisfied with the service and finish the job before my doctor appointment.

I don't write many reviews, but these guys did an outstanding job on my kitchen sink and faucet installation at a great price. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. Would definitely recommend them for your plumbing needs!

The Plumber is your guy: hardworking, skilled, good rates and the best name. We've been working with him for years. He delivers every time.

We had a leak in our tub spout. Whenever we used the shower, about 30% of the water would continue to come out of the tub spout. This meant we were a) wasting water and b) not getting the best water pressure from the shower.
My father and I tried to fix this ourselves but didn't get too far before realizing it would be best handled by a professional plumber with the right tools and materials.
We called Xtreme Plumbing based on their reviews on Yelp and proximity to our house. They answered the phone promptly and inquired about our problem. They asked me to text them our home address, which I did immediately. A few minutes later they called back and let me know that they were sending someone over. At that time they also told me the estimated cost for the job (hourly labor cost + whatever it would cost for parts).
Igancio came over about an hour later -- admittedly, this was longer than we were expecting but it wasn't a huge deal. He handed over his card, was polite and did not waste any time in looking at the situation. He explained what needed to be done, asked a few questions about the replacements parts we wanted, and went out to Home Depot to acquire them.
He came back about 20 minutes later, got his tools from his truck, and started work. My father and I watched him (mostly because we were curious to learn why we failed and how he would go about the same issue). About 10 minutes later he was done! He did an extremely clean job -- both on the interior and exterior -- of the fitting. He even patiently answered several questions from us about how and why he went about his fix (again, we really wanted to learn about our failure!)
When it came time to pay, he handed us the Home Depot receipt. Perhaps this is standard practice, but I appreciated the transparency nevertheless.
We are very happy with Ignacio's work and will definitely be calling Xtreme Plumbing again when the need arises. Highly recommended!

Ameer is able to response super quickly and offer helps. Although I am not using his service at the end because I need a thermal imaging device for leak detection in my house, I still want to give him a 5 stars review for his friendly and professional attitudes.

The folk came out to my house and did the roto-rooter job on the main line. I was told that the blockage was due to tree roots and was charged $272.00. A week later, the line was backup again and I called back the comapny and was told that I have to pay $272-10% discount if I want them to come out again. If the clog was due to tree roots, how could it possible that the roots will grow back just within a week. Obviously, they did not do a good job the first time. Hell NO! will not reccommend.

Literally came over to my parents Julie past 9pm on Memorial Day weekend to help us move a fridge. It was one of those urgent and important tasks and it was awesome to get his response asap and have the whole situation resolved in an hour. Thank you!

My mom & I have used Master Plumbers 3 times in past 2 months. Jimmy44 successfully diagnosed and repaired a leaky pipe in a wall of my mom's condo. The problem had stumped 2 previous plumbers and two contractors. Mark came twice to address additional leaks in mom's kitchen, and do plumbing maintenance.
Both Jimmy and. Mark were professional and courteous. They were careful to always wear shoe covers in the home and clean up after their repairs. The booking/communication process was smooth and the plumber always showed up when scheduled. Aside from the plumbing problems that brought them, our experiences with Master Plumbers were entirely positive.

I called for an estimate and the receptionist said she would have someone call back in 15 minutes. I received a call in less than 5 minutes. He said he couldn't come out for another week and that I should call around for another plumber. Thank you for your courteous call back!

Sam, Ino, Jonathan, and Will were an incredible team to work with. We needed to get our sewer lateral into compliance after buying our home, and from the first phone call with Sam, I could tell that Avalon is a straightforward, honest company that strives to do its best for customers.
In the process of shopping around, companies were only giving us quotes for complete replacement. When Avalon came to the house, they did a detailed exam and pressure test, and told us that the system actually did not need a replacement and just needed some repairs to get us to code. In the process, they saved us so much money and time, and as new homeowners, it was VERY appreciated! A special shoutout to Ino for doing the work on the sewer lateral with a smile, and leaving the cleanouts and area around it in better shape than when we moved in. Highly recommend this company to anyone!

Buyers beware!!
Almost exactly 2 years ago, Matt installed for us a new garbage disposal unit. It fell apart a couple of months ago. Why? Because he did not use plumber's putty where he needed to. Basic stuff, right?! The unit finally was shaken loose and it broke down: leaking and foul-smelly with spoiled food inside. ONLY 2 years later, I had to pay for a new unit not because the unit stopped working but because it was not installed correctly. Frustrating.
Speaking of BASIC work not getting done correctly, Matt replaced the flushing mechanism for one of our toilets. He did not pay attention to where the water level was in the tank before he replace the mechanism. The tank started to leak very soon. He came back and corrected his work. And he charged me $75 for correcting his work.
Then there was a bidet on one of our toilets that was leaking. He fixed the leak but he tightened the knot so much that I could not replace the bidet when it broke. He came back and 'fixed' it and again, he charged me $75 for correcting his work.
I did tell Matt I would not use him ever again and I told him I probably would not write him up on yelp etc. And I didn't. But this garbage disposal issue is beyond reasonable tolerance. I am beginning to worry that the job he did for us in the crawl space will go bad soon, too.
The take-away here is it's extremely frustrating to see so many jobs Matt did developed into problems in very short time. I don't want this happen to those of you considering Matt for your plumbing jobs. For those of you who have praised his work recently, hang tight.
