I work for a church and with churches there's bound to have repair as the norm. I was researching places nearby and saw this company with great reviews.

Had a previous company come out for an estimate and decided to get a second opinion. The Tech that came out was Pedro. Pedro was awesome. Super easy going, friendly and most of all informative. I showed him the issues that needs attending to and from there he informed me of what needs to be done.

Being new to this position, he understood and informed me step by step of the process to be repaired. I asked for a estimate since the Board has final say.

The estimate came almost right after or the next morning. The person emailed, Joel was great in helping out with finding other alternatives for different types of pricing to show to the Board.

After confirming with the Board for what needs to be done, I sent a confirmation email which was responded by Joel and then a phone call from Kory (spelling? or Corey?) The scheduling process was a bit of a juggling part on my end b/c of multiple things going on at the church but Kory was great in being so accommodating. Had it scheduled for later in the day so there wouldnt be any interruptions.

Day of the Repairs.
The awesome part was that the same Tech showed up to do the repairs. Its great b/c he already been here previously instead of a new tech and then re-showing all of items.

Repair #1 - Clogged sink -
Super fast repair and showed the before/after and potential work that might need future repairs.

Repair #2 - Waterheater replacement -
Ran into some hickups but Pedro kept me in the loop of what was going on and what had to be done. Voltage and sizing was an issue due to the location of where it was. Apparently in the past, the contractors installed the water heater and then enclosed it afterwards, which caused the access size to be smaller than the norm. He had to come back the next day to have a slimmer/smaller unit with the same voltage. It was disappointing but understandable.

Next day came, texted me his ETA and went straight to work on the water heater. Showed before pictures, the process of what he did, and the overall after. It looked great and the process was smoother than expected. Payment was all done digitally and a receipt was sent in a snap.

Will most definitely keep them in our book for future repairs.

Found this company through Yelp to fix the jet tub. Agent came promptly. However, the diagnosis was completely off the mark. He just looked at pump and without any testing, said pump needs replacement. Charged $314 and never called back. After multiple calls, they mentioned part is not available. Felt cheated with the whole experience. The pump was not even the issue. Found another contractor who fixed the whole thing in one visit in less than $100. Would never take biz there. Least I expected was thorough evaluation and diagnosis for the issue. Got zilch for $300 I spent. Don't recommend. This was in May, 2022.

Excellent, friendly, timely plumbing service! Our kitchen sink was backed up. Kory came out right away and snaked it several times. He had to bring out the hydrojet and was able to clear a very difficult blockage! While he was there, he also quickly replaced an outdoor hose faucet that has needed to be done for years. Kory is professional, friendly and on time. Highly recommend.

Our kitchen sink was backing up every time we ran the laundry machine. They did a bit of diagnosis over the phone. Quoted me prices for different scenarios. Came out the next day on time. We have used their service multiple times. They are prompt and reliable. We wanted to install a water pressure regulator. We got an appointment for the next business day. Kory evaluated everything that was required and was able to install everything within an hour. He explained all the work he would do. He did a very meticulous job. My master bathroom came remodeled when we bought it. Turned out the remodel had a poorly installed shower drain that wasn't glued properly and would time-to-time leak into our kitchen. Additionally, the master bath has a soaker tub that had a cracked join and had an access door that hangs over our backyard. Whenever the tub would drain, it would just pour its contents into our backyard. This tub leak was hard to fix and we've contacted two other plumbers to scope the problem but none said they could fix it.

I called Advanced Quality Plumbing on Monday, they came over to scope the work the next day. And on Wednesday, they came to fix it in one day. I am grateful they were able to figure out our issues and fix it in such a short turnaround.

This review was about a job done a year ago. An galvanized irrigation pipe leak in a backyard started leaking badly one morning so I was in a rush to have it fixed (much more to conserve water than saving cost).
I called AQP because I was confused by another similarly named plumber I used and liked very much before. But stupid me, they sent someone out and started quoting around $2500 for maybe a 40-feet copper pipe replacement. Of course I balked at it. They then said that PVC would be sufficient and would only charge $2000, and throw in also replacing a rusting pipe section where this line connects to main and add a valve. And they would send guys to finish it today.

At first I thought at at least my money was spent in getting the job finished promptly. But they sent a teenager 2 hours later to help digging a 40-foot trench from 1:30pm and made a mess. Didn't actually finish until 7:30pm when it's turning dark. The owner Kory came and told me that unfortunately they won't replace the extra section due to lack of time. And worst of all, because the PVC glue was still drying they wouldn't even test that it worked before leaving. A big mess was left behind in the yard (see photos).

I feel severely short-changed for a bad deal: $2K for a 40-feet dig and PVC pipe replacement, without the extra junction/valve replacement originally promised. I was left with a mess, and I spent ONE HOUR the next day going back and forth between the main valve and the backyard to slowly ramp up the water flow to make sure that the pipe was fine.

This plumber will get everything flowing alright...straight from your bank account to theirs.

Made the mistake of hiring AQP to fix a sewer main issue. $8000 later...Kory said they checked their work and everything was fine, but when I asked to see their work on the camera he was cornered and had to admit they did a costly repair but didn't solve the problem.

Taking full advantage, Kory then suggested I needed a huge, exorbitantly-priced ($30,000) sewer line upgrade. Needless to say I'm getting a second opinion. I don't trust AQP for one second. They're a bunch of opportunistic, price gouging con men.

Their sky high prices aren't justified, either. There are other, far more qualified plumbers who do better work and charge less.

For example, AQP's price for diagnosing my problem was arguably excessive (2-3 times that of two competitors I checked with). AQP quoted me $800 and two Diamond Certified plumbers quoted me $241 and $350 respectively. For the same exact thing (running a camera through the line).

I would recommend a Diamond Certified plumber over AQP in a heartbeat. Diamond Certified plumbers are thoroughly vetted and their work is guaranteed by a third party who will investigate and mitigate any issues you have after the fact.

AQP on the other hand gives vague, verbal quotes, uses scare tactics, and provides little to no guarantee.

They are super sloppy and left my yard a mess. They broke my walkway light, left mud all over my fence, left my garden tarp all bunched up with rocks scattered everywhere.

Furthermore, AQP lacks foresight, problem solving skills, and a cohesive plan. They do everything by trial and error--you pay through the nose for the trial, and they make the error. Because they didn't solve the problem the first time, you hire them again, they try something else, you pay, and the cycle goes on. That's how they operate.

There are so many other plumbers out there--you can definitely do better than this motley crew of guys who, frankly, don't seem to give a crap (no pun intended).

Update: After reading their response, I find it interesting that they found my sewer line broken because a week or so before they dug it up, I paid them the outrageous price of $589 to snake the line. They told me they snaked it all the way to the street. That would have been impossible had the line actually been broken! That means, by definition, they had to have 1) charged me $589 for nothing or 2) broken my sewer line. They lie, cheat and steal.

And by the way they consider a Saturday after hours and jack ip their prices accordingly.

I have used their services in the past, and found their prices excessive. Other reviewers have said they have good availability, but that's because few people want to pay their outrageous prices.

This review is not for the quality of work but for the initial helpfullness and customer service / yelp quoting. I called a few times as they don't use Yelp messaging and there was a repeated confusion on the line. They were not abile to provide any closer information on the price so I couod make an appointment except to first say $189 + about $60 for the part, and then just to firmly switch to some wild range of prices from $400 to $815 depending on the type. And all for coming out and just replacing a Kohler shower cartridge (a problem with mixing hot and cold water). It felt like a person on the line didn't have a clue what we were talking about. They didn't even know how the Yelp coupon applies towards the work as well and what Yelp coupons are available.
I hope they will improve this process for some next potential customer. That is the only intention of this review, I don't like giving low ratings.
To say something positive, they mentioned they could come out even the same day.

Hands down, THE BEST. I rarely leave yelp reviews, let alone positive ones :), but these guys deserve it. Stand up guys that are extremely honest and fairly priced. My storm drains were clogged and the flooding had begun, they were out on the property within an hour and immediately unclogged the drains within the next hour. Saved my house from flooding. Turns out there was another problem on the other side of the property that needed to be addressed so I called them back, and they shot over in a couple of hours to start fixing it. This was a gnarly one, so the team called in Kory, who showed up within 20 mins and they diagnosed and fixed it within a couple of hours. Honestly, super impressed with their diligence and work ethic. Definitely my GO-TO folks and I plan on having them on rotation to service the storm drains every other year. Jeremy, Kory, and ____ (name escapes me), are truly an amazing team.

Appreciate all the help fellas!

When our kitchen sink was leaking, we reached out to a few plumbers to get a quote. Advanced Quality Plumbing was the quickest to respond and they were home within an hour after the call, to take a look at the sink and give us an estimate.

They recommended replacing the kitchen faucet, and even recommended a particular brand and model, which made it very easy for us to buy it. Within the next 2 days, we made an appointment for them to come over and not only replace the kitchen sink faucet, but also a couple of wash basin sinks in our bathrooms. They were flexible with the timing to come home and replace the faucets, were very professional, prices were reasonable and handled the job in a clean way. Another bonus is that they accept credit cards.

I'd definitely recommend Advanced Quality Plumbing for any of your plumbing needs.

tl;dr use this plumber!

Yes, they are on time, tidy, friendly, do a great job - all that. What sets them apart is who they are as much as what they do.

Had what I thought was a simple project. Old house and everything is more difficult that you would think and I had to order some really specific parts from Brooklyn.

Took three visits over the course of six months for me to get them the parts they needed. Would not accept payment until ALL the work was done. Who does that?!?

Each technician was a delight to work with and really seemed to enjoy their job - it is like Southwest Airlines for plumbing. Everyone is happy.

Last visit got to meet the owner - super nice guy and dedicated to his employees AND his customers.

Very fast response. I called two company at 4Pm. Kory showed up in 30min. Helped me change faucet and pipe connector which is potential problem for a much worse leakage concern. I was trying to do myself for two hours and really frustrated, and Kory fixed it in an hour!

A few weeks ago, my electrician started trenching in my front yard for a PG&E electrical service upgrade on my home. His crew uncovered a water leak in the main pipe that goes from the water company meter near the curb to my shutoff valve on the side of my house. It was cleanly trenched so a long run of the water pipe was exposed and the leak was easily accessed. I called Advanced Quality Plumbing out to give me an estimate for splicing out the leaking portion.

The plumber that was sent out told me that I had a 1-1/2 galvanized pipe. He said that galvanized pipes were very difficult to work on and the cost would be $665. This seemed highly excessive to me so I told him so and sent him on his way. I called another plumber who was recommended by a neighbor.

This new plumber came out and told me that I had a 1 copper pipe and the first plumber was wrong. He had it spliced in a little over an hour (he had to go buy copper materials since I had told him it was 1-1/2 galvanized over the phone). Total cost was $300. ACP tried to con me, a single, older woman. Too bad for them that I saw through their attempt to cheat me. One star is too generous. Don't call them unless you want to be bilked.

Steve amazed me today with his professionalism, his total integrity, his amazingly low price, his careful expert work, his fantastic efficiency, and his great attitude. Here's my story:

A couple of days ago I noticed the water pressure in the house was kaput, called the City utility company, they sent a very nice man to check it, and he told me it was the main valve to the house (which was built in 1953 or so). It was one of those old-old ones with a circle-shaped valve to turn rather than the new kind with an up-down handle, and it was all corroded and leaky. We figured my gardener had seen it leaking, turned it until it stopped leaking, and didn't think to tell me my house's water wouldn't work. '[Yeah, I know, but he's a *nice* gardener ....] I asked the water guy from the City how long he figured it would take a plumber to repair it from start to finish and he estimated around 30-45 minutes (i.e., equaling an hour of pay-the-plumber time). So I went to good ole Yelp!, found a bunch of 5-star plumbers near me, and called three of them.

The first one had a recording saying he's out of town until Nov. 7th. The second one told me no way would it take just a half-hour or so when I described the problem, said he couldn't fix it until Friday or Saturday (this was Weds afternoon), and asked me to text him a photo of the old corroded leaky valve so he could text me an estimate -- which I did. While I was was waiting for him to text back, I called the third one -- Steve! (yay!) -- and got a very professional lady who took my number so he could call me. (Is this beginning to sound like Goldilocks and the Three Bears? Sorry, LOL).

Well, Steve called back almost before I could put the phone down; he asked me to text him the photo -- which I did -- and then (unlike the Second Bear, above) he *immediately* called me back! I asked about how much he figured it would be, and he *asks* me Are you over (some age that I'm over, forgot what age he said), because I give a Senior Discount. Like, he *asked me*, I didn't have to ask! He then estimated it would cost $150 to $200 and said he could do it Friday AM (i.e., before Bear Number Two whom I'd called before him), so I said Great.

THEN, Bear Number Two texts me back with *his* estimate. And now I will leave you hanging with intense curiosity until the end of the story, whereupon I will Blow You Away with the difference between Steve and that other dude.

So, this AM (i.e., Friday), Steve calls me around 8:30 AM (which I'd asked him to do) to say he's on his way. He arrives at 9 AM as promised. He is courteous and friendly and professional, and gets right to work; first shutting off the water intake at the meter and then starting doing his Plumber Thing while I go in house and web-surf. Soon the doorbell rings ... he's done! The job took him all of 36 minutes to do.

His bill? (Itemized of course) ... under $140 on my Visa!

It was easy to find and schedule Advanced Quality Plumbing through Yelp. Advanced showed up, same-day, to replace a worn-out gushing garbage disposal with a happy new one. The two installers were quick, knowledgeable, polite, and efficient. The disposal works great so far, but if a problem arises with the disposal, I can call Advanced to take a look at it, free of charge. Great service.

I worked with Kory, Joel, and their team to replace a shower value and fixtures in my bathroom. I live in a condo, so it required HOA approval and water shut off to the building. I reached out for a quote through yelp and they responded right away and then followed up with a visit to my home to look at the job. They confirmed their original quote, which was definitely reasonable. They provided what I needed for the HOA and were flexible with dates to get the work done. The day of install was great - their team was prompt, clear, and the installation looks fantastic. What I appreciated most is they were so prompt I'm communication, clear, and honest. I definitely got the run around from other companies on cost and insurance, but not these guys. They were awesome - fully recommend them!

My husband spends countless hours vetting contractors with Consumer Reports and Bay Area Checkbook.

As we had a leaky kitchen faucet and a noisy garbage disposal, we called Al, and he came to our house near the end of his workday. He ripped out the garbage disposal, replacing it with a top quality Insinkerator. He installed my beloved Hansgrohe faucet, all in 1 1/2 hours.

His price is very reasonable.

Just bought a house and called for a quote on the work that needs to be done to get it up to code.

Got a call back after 20 minutes and started going through the things to that need to be done. I mentioned there was some water damage in the crawlspace and I was told 'oh we don't do crawlspace' and was hung up on without even getting to the other items I had .

I can only assume these guys have massaged the Yelp reviews somehow after this experience!

Kory and his crew were very friendly and professional throughout the entire install process of my new gas line. We converted from an electric to gas range and needed an increased line size in the garage to the existing appliances out there, then a new line in the crawl space to the kitchen. The piping is super clean and well done, and I love the very thorough documentation via email in both the estimate and invoice. Even though his crew took slightly longer than he expected, he stuck to the initial estimate. Kory's straightforward approach and fair pricing were very welcomed compared to other contractors who came out to bid the project. This company rocks. After an incompetent plumber failed to find the source of a water leak coming from the 3rd floor shower and exiting the 2nd floor ceiling resulting in a large portion of my ceiling being turned into swiss cheese, Advanced Quality Plumbing quickly identified the source of the leak was a simple gap in the caulking on the bathtub valve. A new showerhead and new caulking in the tub/shower, problem fixed. They saved the day, were very honest, trustworthy and professional. I will only use Advanced Quality Plumbing for all my plumbing needs moving forward.

We had a copper water line leak in an interior bathroom wall that fed a shower/tub. I called and spoke to the office manager, Joel. He was very nice and helpful. He said that they don't charge a service call unless they have to open up a wall to assess the situation. I discovered that we had a removable floor in the closet that allowed access to the pipes in that wall so I called back and set up the appointment for them to come out. A very young guy was sent out who looked like he had very little experience. When he saw the pipes in the wall he told us that the exterior wall to the house would need to be torn apart to fix the problem. Not only did that sound very expensive to tear up the outside stucco, but it also sounded completely unnecessary since the plumbing was on an interior wall and not touching the exterior wall. This is my mother's home and she just passed away. We were about to have a house load of people coming for her memorial service. There was no way we could tear open an exterior wall at that time. He offered to cap it off to stop the leak temporarily until we could have the work done. I thought that was a good solution until he said it would be $619 to do the temporary cap. Having been in the hydronic heating trade with my exhusband for years, I knew putting a cap on would be a 5 minute job. Turn the water off to the house, splice the pipe, put the cap on, turn the water back on to the house. The guy checked in with his boss and his boss says they would do it for $539. I said no thank you and decided to call my exhusband. They then said there was a service charge for coming out. I told them that I had talked to Joel and he said they only charge a service charge if they have to open a wall to access the situation but this guy didn't have to open anything. He was able to assess the situation fine from our existing opening in the closet. So after confirming with Joel, we weren't charged for him coming out.
My exhusband ended up coming over the next day to cap it off and when he saw it he said it's only a pin hole leak in the copper pipe and he was able to quickly repair the leak instead of capping it off. No need for tearing into an exterior wall. He didn't even need to tear into the interior wall. He was able to fix it within our existing floor opening.

I would never recommend Advanced Quality Plumbing to anyone! Aside from some friendly and kind service from Joel upon my first call, the rest of the experience with the technician and the owner felt like a con job. It felt like they were trying to take advantage of us.

Keith was able to replace two of my shower panels with new shower systems we bought. The drywall guy was able to repair my drywall back to the original state. Price was reasonable. The project lasted about 3 days. There were some miscommunications and misunderstandings along the way but I'm glad we figured everything out. I'm 76 and have had many plumbers through the years. I had a water heater problem; it had ruptured and water running out the garage. They cam within a few hours. Three men worked for 3 1/2 hours giving me hot water again. They cleaned up with a wet vacuum.

On Sunday afternoon both sides of my kitchen sink were completely clogged. I spent hours trying to fix it myself by pouring hot water, vinegar, baking soda with no luck. Most business was closed on Sunday. I saw Advanced Quality Plumbing open on weekends. I called them, their service guy came within 40 minutes. He took apart the pipe, snaked for almost half an hour, and fixed the issue. I saw lots of black gunk came out from the pipe, it's the grease accumulated over years. The service guy (sorry I didn't get his name, I kept social distance because of the shelter in place order) was very friendly and professional. He cleaned up the floor and cabinet afterwards, and gave me tips how to keep the drain clean. Thank you so much for the prompt and excellent service, especially during this difficult time period of covid-19. Really appreciated.

I had a problem with a drip leak in my main bathroom shower that another plumber was not able to figure out and wanted to rip everything out to fix. I called Alfred Williams Plumbing for a second opinion. Steve was able to figure out what the problem was (it was an unusual fixture that won't take a generic HD or Lowe's replacement fixture without leaking) and was able to get me fixed in rapid order. Steve was on time, efficient, and very reasonably priced.

They will be my first call the next time something goes wrong.

Called Alfred William's plumbing and got one of those fancy operators that entered in all the information and offered to schedule a time tomorrow. Got a call back a few minutes later from the plumber and he said he could be there in an hour. True to his word he showed up, went promptly to work on our leaking P trap under the K sink.

He prefers to work on 1950 and newer plumbing issues, but tackled our hodge podge of cast iron, chrome plated brass and plastic 1927 setup. Swapped in new black plastic plumbing and took the time to stress test it 3 times to make sure it held.

Appreciate his hard work and great pricing ($120 an hour labor plus reasonable priced parts).

Should you look in Websters dictionary for the definition of satisfaction: timely, competent, thorough, professional, friendly, knowledgeable, flexible...need I go on? Advanced has it all. I had a toilet fill valve that needed replacement. I called 11 plumbing companies this past weekend, and left my data with three (the others had no interest in my issues...I could NOT leave any message, text, voice or otherwise with 8 different companies. I called Advanced Monday AM, and they inserted my call needs for the 11 to 1 PM slot. Keith showed up at 12:25 and was gone by 1:00 PM. Issues fixed and my home is now (plumbing wise) back to better than normal. My family & I are very impressed with the work he completed. I will never need to call any of the other companies, apparently my job was too small for their pocket books. I'd list them, just for spite, but then my post would find the toilet....but wait, that's the subject here, they fixed my toilet. Look no further if you need a plumber. Awesome people make for awesome experiences and ultimately, awesome companies!

Our house has had some plumbing misfortunes through the years....fortunately Steve has come to the rescue each time!
This time we had a clogged drain in the kitchen. I called just after noon on a Monday and Steve arrived, unclogged the drain, and was on his way by 2:30! You just can't get better service. Oh...and he did this for only $104.00!

We had to call a plumber out to clear a clog in our drains. Advanced Quality Plumbing was able to come out the same day. When they were running late, they made sure to call us and let us know. Our plumber's name was Marc and he did a great job. He made sure to check all possible sources of the problem. We have an older house that has been re-plumbed, so we appreciated that he listened to us explain the history so he could best solve the issue. He explained what he was doing so we knew what was happening and what we were paying for. Marc also did a great job of cleaning up. We appreciated the great service.

Just in case any one wondering why every review here talks about Steve, this Alfred Williams company is Steve's company and he is self-employed.

The kitchen sink in my home got clogged by food and I called Steve's phone number on this Yelp page (answered by a receptionist from an answering service company that would pass the message to Steve). Then Steve called back to me in 5mins, and agreed to come to my home immediately. He did, and pinpointed the problem immediately. The problem was a bit tricky because the blockage seemed to be deep down the pipe. But Steve worked very fast and proficiently, tried multiple times to use his machine to unclog the pipe, and finally fixed the problem. Steve also did multiple tests to make sure the water started flowing well and no leakage or the like. The entire process took 2 hours and Steve charged me $117 (for the service) + $10 (for the new pipe connection he installed), which I felt pretty reasonable given the amount of work and effort he had put into fixing the problem.

Highly recommended to everyone in the south bay area who has a plumbing issue.

Once again, Steve to the rescue!! I thought I did all the homework and figured a clogged valve kept a normal stream of hot water from filling up the tub within an hour...but Steve arrived the next day, and within 15 minutes located a super clogged pipe from the water heater and OMG...running hot water!!

I had a leaking Moen kitchen faucet. Prior to coming out, Steve asked for the model # of my faucet. The day of the appointment, Steve replaced the cartridge to the faucet in about 5 minutes and problem was solved! Price was extremely reasonable. Before I called Alfred Williams I called another plumber who had 5 star reviews on Yelp as well and they immediately made the assumption that I needed a new faucet without even looking at the faucet. I'm glad I didn't listen to them and called Alfred Williams instead. Not all 5 star rating companies are the same!

I just found my brand new Rent-A-Husband.

My previous plumber is now just focusing on heating and air conditioning, and so I'm back to my old tricks ... trying to do this stuff myself. How hard can it be, right? So of course my phone calls are always panicked and desperate, always trying to throw in some humor. Here's how it all went down;

Steve at Alfred Williams Plumbing; Hi, this is Steve, what can I help you with?

Me; I purchased a new bathroom faucet, and I was removing the old one, and then about 90% through removing the old one, I realized I can't get it out (even with Jedi mind tricks) and discovered that I am NOT a PLUMBER nor a Jedi.

(crickets chirping)

OK, so he didn't think that was funny, and happy I'm not giving the guy a star rating based on how he laughs at my jokes. For all I know the guy could be a silent laugher.

After asking me how old I thought the previous faucet was, I knew this guy was prepared, and boy was he ever! Steve didn't even mess around, and drilled that sucker out with some power saw. Uh, yeah ... I don't have one of those.

Now with the fun part ~ the original installation was so rigged, the new faucet couldn't fit with the sink. So we needed a new sink, and he told me he would have to come back tomorrow. I let him know he could come back in 2 days, and he said he would call to set up a time. In both appointments he gave me a one hour window, and BOTH times he was EARLY!!! You have got to love that.

So Steve, my new Rent-A-Husband, get ready for my calls in the future, and I promise I won't try to do it myself.

We noticed a lot of water dripping under our kitchen sink this morning. I crawled under the sink but could only tell that it was coming from the main faucet, and that the flow increased when I turned on the water, hot or cold. Steve has done excellent work for me in the past, so I called his answering service, and he called me back within seconds.

Before scheduling an appointment, Steve asked me a few questions. It turned out that the solution to the problem was very simple. All I had to do was pull the flexible metal hose out from the fitting above the sink and tighten the fitting between the hose and the faucet. Problem solved. No charge.

Steve replaced my broken kitchen sink faucet the same day I called. When I called, the phone was answered by a real person, and Steve returned the call promptly. I'd called another guy, but was sent to voice mail, which just said 'Mailbox full' and hung up on me.

Called and got an answering service who took my information, told her I needed to locate my clean out. Got a call back from Steve who tells me that is not my specialty...never heard of something like that from a plumber before. I told him I thought that was strange and that they may want to indicate the fact that they won't locate or touch a clean out on Yelp (where there is no info on their services), that is when he began interrupting me and trying to speak over me - so he could tell me no one else has ever minded. If you won't touch a clean out your potential clients should be made aware of that, so should your answering service. If you care about your Yelp rating you should exercise professionalism during phone calls.

I honestly, can't complement Alfred Williams highly enough.

I needed a faucet replaced, which to be honest I was feeling a bit ashamed about since it really is the sort of thing I should have been able to do myself (I couldn't for the life of me work out how to remove the old one!)

Anyway, I called Alfred Williams, and the call was taken by a highly professional lady who took my details, asked what help I needed and told me a technician would call me in 15 minutes. And in 15 minutes, a technician, Steve, did indeed call. +1 for calling when they said he would.

So, I arranged for him to come and do the job at 10:30 this morning. He arrived at 10:33. +1 again for being punctual.

He then did the job, quickly, cleanly and well. Everything was done in about 45 minutes.

He was a nice chap as well.

The best thing I can say about the whole experience is that if I have any other plumbing needs in the future, I won't even think about calling anyone else. These guys were excellent.

This was easily the best plumbing experience of my life.

We called last night at 8 and Steve called back within minutes and showed up early on a Saturday at 7:45am. He didn't go into quote mode. Instead, he did a quick inspection and started working. Unfazed by the fact that our drain conduit was worn, he climbed up the roof with a snaking tool and just started clearing pipe.

Incredibly friendly and intelligent, he is not your typical plumber type. He mentioned he use to do QA for an electronics company and it shows. He's cool under inconclusive circumstances and doggone nice.

Steve finished in under an hour and now our kitchen and garage doesn't look like Dagobah. We ran a load of clothes without flooding the garage again.

And even though we didn't get any other quotes, I'm certain that had we gone to one of the big-ad-in-the-yellow-pages guys, they would have been here all morning and we would have paid double or triple. Why? Because we've been there.

I am certain our crazy house is going to need more plumbing in the future and actually look forward to calling on Steve again.

BTW, Steve is is middle name, but he is the proprietor of Alfred Williams Plumbing.

I've used Alfred Williams Pluming twice now for various leak problems in my townhouse and have been very happy both times.

Steve has fixed leak problems with my sink and just recently helped us solve a problem with our shower/tub leaking into our downstairs kitchen.

He's very nice and professional and always has our best interest at heart. The answering service is great for taking our call and message and making sure it gets to someone.

Steve is the BEST! I have called him out to my Santa Clara home more than once. I was referred to him by another plumbing company that specializes in larger jobs like re-pipes.

The last call I had with Steve was to clean the drain pipes to my laundry just because I had the washer being replaced. He really went out of his way to do it even though the venting and drain were installed improperly (even though he pointed this out I already knew it).

Steve just left my home a few minutes ago and I would recommend him to any and all for plumbing issues. Let me start at the beginning---a few months ago. The faucet in my laundry room developed a leak. It wasn't a leak, it was more like a gusher. Asked husband for help; which never came so I decided to do the next best thing. I wrapped up a new faucet as a Christmas present. It sat on the end table for a long time. I finally asked him if he was going to be able to install it for me. His answer was that he probably didn't have the right tools for the job and to go ahead and get someone in to do it for you. So, I looked at all the Yelp reviews and called someone (not AWP) and left a voice message. I even sent a request through their online contact information. I waited and I waited and I waited (7 days). I called back again and again got voice mail and this time I politely requested that if they could not do the job to at least please call me back and let me know so I could find someone else. Guess what, I'm still waiting for that call. I gave them 2 more days for a response and then I called AWP! To me there is such a thing as common courtesy. Don't tell me that someone couldn't have called and told me that they were too busy, didn't have the manpower or bandwidth to help me.

When I called Alfred Williams Plumbing--first thing, I didn't get a voice mail; I talked to someone directly. They said I would have a call back within 15 minutes. It wasn't 15 minutes it was more like 2 minutes! I explained what I thought (notice the word thought) I needed and also asked about my dishwasher. Steve explained I really needed an appliance repair person for my dishwasher problem. So, he gave me the name and number of his go-to person. I will be calling them soon.

We set up an appointment for today (Wednesday) between the hours of 12-1. I was
delighted to have him show up at my door about 11:25 AM. I took him back to my laundry room and showed him what I thought (again that word) was wrong and that I had a replacement faucet which I purchased at OSH. Steve gets to work and once he has removed the old faucet he realized that the new one wouldn't work. I thought I was doomed. Not so fast---I still had the part that I had taken over to the hardware store. So, I gave it to him and lo-and-behold, he just replaced a rubber gasket. Which, by-the-way, I had asked the clerk in the plumbing department at OSH if it was possible to do. He advised me nope; easier to replace the faucet.

So, if it weren't for Steve and his plumbing knowledge and repair capabilities, I would probably still be without a working sink. He was efficient, took great care with his work and I was delighted with the cost. We have cats and he took care to make sure that they didn't escape out the front door when he had to go out to his truck.

Steve did a great job; he explained things to me so that I understood the problem and the solution and he tested the faucet several times before he finally signed off on the job and left my house.

I recommend these folks highly and now I know whom to call when I need a plumber.

I am sorry that this is such a long review but I wanted people to know the steps I had to go through before I found AWP.

My 6 year old jammed the 1.8gpf toilet with too much toilet paper and my husband just left the house. I tried plunging it with our basic plunger, flushed and that just caused water to rise ever-so-high-almost-to-the-top-of-the-rim....Uh-oooh....Did a quick nextdoor research on plumbers and Alfred Williams Plumbing popped up and with great yelp reviews.

I called Alfred William's to the rescue. The dispatch person relayed the info and Steve called within 10-15 minutes and got my address. He came within 15 minutes and cleared the toilet with his special toilet tool and voila! Steve was careful not to drip gross toilet water on my floors. He wrapped his tool in a towel to catch the yukky stuff.

Working flushing toilet! Yay!! Cost $75 for the 5 minute fix and wonderful functional toilet. I learned Steve is the owner of the business.

NOTE: Cash or check for now (until he gets the credit card service up and running.)

LESSON: teach kids to use appropriate amounts of toilet paper with each flush! There's a first time for everything....my daughter has never plugged up the toilet.

I highly recommend Steve. I had a clogged shower drain and I called 3 different plumbers to get pricing. Steve answered right away and was straight forward (no sales pitch), and his pricing was a bit lower than any of the others. He was nearby, so he was here in 10 minutes. He did an excellent job in a really short time. I found out that a couple of my neighbors have also used his service and were super happy. If I ever have any other problems, I'll definitely be calling Steve.

I highly recommend Steve. I had a clogged shower drain and I called 3 different plumbers to get pricing. Steve answered right away and was straight forward (no sales pitch), and his pricing was a bit lower than any of the others. He was nearby, so he was here in 10 minutes. He did an excellent job in a really short time. I found out that a couple of my neighbors have also used his service and were super happy. If I ever have any other problems, I'll definitely be calling Steve.

Excellent service! After calling down the list of highly rated, but unavailable plumbers, Nelson Plumbing referred me to Steve. He was here within an hour, had me text over photos of my leaky shower and sink so he could make sure he the correct parts, quoted a reasonable price over the phone, fixed both in under an hour, and charged me the same reasonable price that he had quoted. Steve did great work. I was able to get a same day appointment for a leaky toilet, which he fixed very quickly and then was able to remove a built-in water filter system and a soap dispenser from our kitchen sink (something I had been wanting to do for a while, but was reluctant to call a plumber for due to cost). I had called Master Plumbing first because last time Alfred Williams had a longer lead time and I was able to get someone from Master Plumbing right away. But this time Master Plumbing said their soonest appointment was almost a week away. So I called Alfred Williams and gave them the details of my problem (a hard to find leak under the kitchen sink), and they said someone would call me back to schedule an appointment.

Within a few minutes, Steve called me back and said he had a cancellation so could be over in 20 minutes. He examined all around the underside of the sink, tried filling up the sink and letting it drain, used the garbage disposal, tried splashing water on the countertop, basically went through all the paces, but couldn't find anything that would have caused a leak. (The leak is very intermittent, and we only see the result when there is a small puddle of water under the sink, but there are no water stains on the walls or pipes). He finally said he wasn't able to see anything that could cause the leak and told us we'll just have to keep an eye on it.

We did find that there was a small amount of water that seemed to seep in through the faucet fixture, but Steve didn't believe it was enough to be causing the leak. But he said in order to fix it, it might be better to replace the entire faucet for a new one since he would have to remove the whole thing to putty it up anyway, and it wouldn't guarantee that the leak would be fixed.

We told him we would think about it for a day, so he scheduled us in for an appointment in two days (when he would have time to do the job) and told us we could call him the next day to cancel if we changed our mind.

I asked him how much I owed him for today's visit, and he said no charge.

Steve also helped us a few years ago when our garbage disposal started leaking. He replaced it with a new one, and also fixed a few other nagging things around the house to fill out the 1 hour minimum. He has always been very nice to work with and seems very honest and conscientious. We would gladly recommend him to others and plan on continuing to use him for our needs as well!

I called Alfred Williams Plumbing today to fix a leaky toilet, got an answer service but Steve called back within 15-20 minutes. I called at noon and he was able to come a few hours later on the same day and not only fixed the leaky toilet but replaced the parts of the others in my house at my request. He charged very reasonable rates, more so than the last plumber I used. I will be calling him in the future if I ever need a plumber. Highly recommend!

Called Alfred Williams after reading the reviews on yelp. Called them sunday night after I noticed water leaking in my garage onto my car. Our house has old galvanized pipes and we needed to get repiping done but have been pushing it back.

I called their number and was greeted by a lady who asked for my info and what the problem was. She then told me to wait for a call. A few minutes later someone called and we scheduled for next morning at 10.

Steve was on time and after cutting through the wet section of our drywall was able to find the pinhole leak in our pipe. He suggested a repipe, something we already knew we needed, and said he could refer us to another company. That was fine. He then suggested that we could put a clamp on the leak as a temp fix to get us up and running until we could do the repipe. I said ok since a repipe wasnt going to happen that day. He then said that he did not have a clamp with him but had to go out to his supplier to find one. I suggested Lowes which was a few blocks from where we live. He said he'd rather go to his supplier just to make sure that he finds what he's looking for in one place. I said ok. After about 30 minutes he came back and started putting the clamp on. He had previously pulled out some insulation and said if I had a bag that I could start putting it away. I was a bit offended. He repeated his comment. So I got a bag and started putting the insulation away thinking this was the first time someone has asked me to clean up for them. Once the clamp was on Steve asked me to check for leaks. I said it looks ok. Then I asked how much is was going to cost, remembering that he never gave me a chance to get a quote. He said he'll figure it out in
a moment. He then proceeded to his van to write up the bill as well as answer another job call, all the while watching me clean up after his mess. He came back
from the van and gave me a bill for $104.69!! 97 bucks for labor and 7 bucks for a clamp. I was outraged but didnt say anything. It didnt seem like a fair price to me. I've had sections of pipe replaced that took a few hours that was more reasonably priced than a 5 minute clamp
install. He basically charged me for the trip to the store for the clamp that he didnt have. I paid the bill, but will definitely never call them again no matter what problem I have.

Called Alfred Williams plumbing for a plugged drain, left a message with an answering service, and within 5 minutes Steve (owner and sole employee) called me back. Steve gave me a one hour window when he could come later that day, but said he would come earlier if he could. He called one our before our scheduled time, asking if it was OK to come immediately. I said yes, and in 5 minutes Steve arrived. After I explained what I had tried, Steve checked out the situation, climbed up the roof and power snaked the drain vent. Problem solved in 45 minutes start to finish! And he gave me a great referral to Nelson plumbing for a copper repipe, a service he doesn't provide. Nice to work with a pro that knows what he's doing.

A year or so ago I put together a list of recommended service providers, for example plumbers, so that when an urgent plumbing event happened I would already have the best person to call based on the experiences of others. I obtained the information from Bay Area Checkbook, Yelp, BBB, State Contractor's Lic Board, etc. Alfred Williams Plumbing was on my list. So after discovering a toilet leak at floor level, I called them for help. Steve came out, removed the toilet, installed a new wax seal and reset the toilet in a very short span of time. The fee was reasonable. I was quite impressed. I have his card and for future plumbing needs I regard Williams Plumbing as a first choice service provider.

Plumbing issues are just a part of life but you rarely find someone you would call... the only plumber I would ever use. I recently had a third wonderful interaction with Steve. So we called this company to come take a look at our water system to see why our water pressure is as low as it is. The guy didn't even have to come out to help us! He just gave us a few tips on something that could be causing the issue and sure enough, the issue ended up being resolved! I wish we could've paid him for his advice.. :) but would we recommend this company? OF COURSE! 5 stars for these guys, absolutely fantastic

I too was refered by Nelson plumbing to call Williams. Steve was super nice, made an appointment with me, was on time. No mess, no fuss. The price was very reasonable and he was done in an hour. My toilet was continually running, even with the valve shut off. He replaced the valve and fixed the toilet in less than an hour. I was worried it would be extremely expensive and messy. No problems here! Would recommend to anyone!

Yelp was right! Steve is on time, professional, thorough with reasonable prices. He returns calls consistently and is there when he says he's going to be there. So rare in the maintenance/service industry, yet so important to me. He asked questions initially to make sure he had the right parts when he came for the repair. He worked quickly and replaced parts on three of my sinks so I can remove hair, debris before they go down the drain. I was happily surprised with the cost. I wish there were more people like Steve in this line of work!

Had a leaky shower/bath for a week that was getting progressively worse and I procrastinated until Memorial Day to take care of it. After reading reviews on Yelp I decided to give Steve a call and within 30 minutes he was at my house taking care of business! He had all the parts he needed in his van to repair the leak and even went so far as to drive to the local hardware store to pick up the one faucet handle he didn't have.

I could not be happier with the service and reasonable cost. Seems like a genuinely nice guy but very professional. I will be calling upon Steve again in the future!

What a relief it is not to hear the drip, drip, drip in the background. Thank you Steve!

Our under-sink cleanout in the kitchen broke (the part the plug screws into split in two) and we also had been hearing that glug, glug, glug when we dumped a pot of water down the kitchen sink. With the great reviews in Yelp and Checkbook.org, I called Alfred Williams Plumbing. Steve (aka Alfred) arrived just before our scheduled time, had a quick peek, and within minutes had used a $10 solution to solve what I thought would require repiping of my under-sink drainage system. I'm sure other plumbers would have spent 4 hours repiping my kitchen, but Steve used an expanding clean-out adapter and within minutes that problem was solved. He probably saved me $800 or more with that clever solution. He then got to work on our stubborn clog and even cleaned the sink cabinet and floor to better than when he arrived. What you have with Alfred Williams Plumbing is someone you can trust to treat you fairly and solve the problem you have, not the one that will get him the most money. I am happy to say I have found a plumber that I will call on again and again.

He successfully unclogged a bathroom sink drain, noticed a drain pipe leak and repaired it, and corrected a dripping bathtub faucet. The price was right. This was our first experience with Alfred Williams, and we are very pleased.

I was referred to Alfred Williams Plumbing by Nelson Plumbing. This was for a rental property and it is a manufactured home with old plastic piping. Nelson Plumbing to suggested l call Alfred Williams because he had experience with manufactured homes. I called at 10:30 a.m. today and Steve met me at 11:30 a.m. After understanding what the problem was, he immediately went under the house and found the leak. He advised repairing it was not worth the time, that repiping was the way to go, or I would likely be having another leak as this type of piping is really bad (I knew he was correct, as I had been advised by a few plumbers over the years that I need to get rid of the old plastic piping). He told me exactly what and where the problem was. He was very nice, very knowledgeable and I appreciated his honesty. He charged me $60 and was there for about 40 minutes. I will definately call him again if I have another plumbing problem.

He fixed my bathroom and kitchen sinks and got me a new garbage disposal for a reasonable cost. I thought I would need a main line clean out (mucho expensivo) but he said no. He is totally punctual. Alfred williams plumbing was the BEST experience in my life when it comes to plumbing.I called 3 or 4 companies to see what is the best price. One company came and told me $900.00 just to fix the leaking pipe in my kitche,. and then he said he will call somebody to disinfect the mud that the leak created under my house... that means it will cost me more than 900. I told the guy that I'm still checking around he then called his boss and explain to her what he will do. He said he will cut the wall under my sink etc etc. People sometimes think that women are plain stupid when it comes to some mens job. One company called me and do a lot of sales talk. I told him that he is a good saleman but I really don't trust them. Next day guy came from this company, I was not home that time and my husband was home. He called me and told me that they have a better deal. So i talk to this guy and he told me $550.. I was alittle happy that it is cheaper but I know that there is a catch then he said I will disinfect the mud etc etc and the TOTAL IS $$$$$$$$$$2400.00...again 2400.00 I SAID WHAT$$$$$ forget it but he won't stop explaining to me what he will do but I told him no no no forget it but he wants me to listen to him what he will do and got mad at me when I said I know and undersrtand what he is going to do an again told him that we will call him he then said he can lower it to 1800.00. I was very upset to think that people really will take advantage of you BIG TIME if you are not careful.

NEXT DAY MY HUSBAND CALLED ME FROM WORK AND TOLD ME STEVE CAME AND LOOK AT THE LEAK. HE SAID HE CAN DO IT FOR $380.00 OR MAYBE LESS AND WILL GIVE US A SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT. HE WILL WAIT FOR FEW DAYS TILL THE MUD DRIES UP SINCE IT STARTED TO DRY UP. FRIDAY STEVE CAME AND FIXED THE LEAK AND CHARGED US $180.00 RIGHT $180.00.

WHEN THESE DISHONEST PEOPLE CAME AND TOLD US ABOIUT THE AMOUNT (FROM $900.PLUS TO $2400.00) WE HAVE TO PAY I WAS VERY STRESSED. I HAVE THAT MONEY BUT I AM SAVING IT FOR MY 2 DAUGHTER'S SCHOOL AND APT. RENTAL.
I PRAYED THAT NIGHT AND GAVE IT ALL TO GOD. I KNOW GOD LISTENED TO ME A SEND STEVE TO HELP US.

Selected Alfred Williams Plumbing from the Consumer Checkbook (have never gotten a loser based on their ratings). Have had them do a number of jobs : disposal replacement, kitchen sink faucet replacement, bathroom shutoff valve replacement and a washing machine clogged output drain. They are always prompt getting back when called, arrive at appointments when scheduled. Quality work, I have never had to call them back. Very reasonable rates.

I found Alfred Williams plumbing on Angie's list. I called many other plumbers first to have them come out to clear a blocked drain in my tenants home. Other highly rated plumber charged between $!25 and $175 just to come out. Another charged a $250 flat rate for drain clearing. None could come within a 2 day window. Then I found Alfred Williams! They charge no base fee to come out. In addition, they could come out that day. It turned out that the tenant simply did not know how to disengage the bathtub drain, and there was no blockage at all. Steve was very pleasant about the whole thing, and we agreed on a very nominal fee for his coming out. I just encountered another plumbing problem. Steve returned my phone call within 5 minutes and will be here tomorrow. I recommend this company without hesitation!

This is how its supposed to go. I called and the phone was immediately answered. The receptionist took some basic information and said I would get a call from the plumber in 15 minutes. In about 10 minutes I got a call back from Steve. He offered to arrive in 2 hours, but I had a conflicting appointment, so we scheduled for the next day. Upon returning from my appointment, I received a call from Steve asking if I wanted him come over. He said he moved up another appointment and knew I would be available later in the afternoon. He arrived within 15 minutes, fixed my problem within the hour, cleaned up after himself, collected his very reasonable fee and was on his way. Albert Steve Williams is the man to call if you have a plumbing problem.

Our very old water heater started a slow leak and so we called multiple firms to get an estimate on the water heater. We also checked on checkbook, Angie's list, yelp, etc. for references and Alfred Williams (though the plumber goes by Steve) was the plumber we chose to replace our water heater.
He has an answering service which is really nice as you talk to a real person who relays your message to him and he typically calls back in 5-20 minutes. He gave us a quote that was competitive with the other over the phone quotes. I had done research in the past on water heaters and what parts are and are not neeed as I knew we would eventually need our unit replaced and his recommendations confirmed what I had already read. He also did not try to sell us any unneeded extras. He came within a day since our repair was not urgent and spent about four hours hooking up the new water heater (our plumbing is from the 50's so several of the pipes were a bit hard to work with). He was professional, knowledgeable, and has years of plumbing experience. We were very pleased with the installation and have not had any issues since it was installed. We would definitely use him again in the future.

Alfred Williams Plumbing has helped us many times, for years and I finally looked him up on Yelp. The positive reviews are accurate: he is prompt, calm, hard working, honest, uncomplaining (given that some of the work has been hot, muddy and uncomfortable). He responds quickly; and is very reasonably priced. The business has been around since his father, Alfred, started it. As other Yelpers mentioned, Steve is very smart and just plain nice. He's been out to help my mother, mother-in-law, sister and friends. I always recommend him!

I had another plumber come out over my sink faucet that was leaking - he changed the washer out - wow I had already done that and charged me $96 dollars - Steve came out - took a look, told me what I needed and rescheduled a couple days later because I needed a new faucet - he suggested brand names and where to buy. With the Holidays coming up I knew time was not on my side so buying what I need and having it in stock were going to limit my chances. Steve had given me his cell number and we talked a couple times when I was at Lowes. With his expert advice on what to look for everything was worked out but the best part is I felt I had found a plumber who knew what he was talking about, willing to be a partner in my leaking faucet issues and solve the problems. He came back the next day, having already given me a rough idea what I was up for price wise and coming in around that amount my problems are now all solved! I didn't find him on Yelp - but in reading the reviews I can see having a new one can only help him and sing his praises. But like someone else said earlier I kind of want to keep him a secret because he is worth his weight in gold. He did say he only does small jobs not big ones and his business card kind of states all the the jobs he is willing to tackle. Nice guy and best part like everyone said turns up on time!
