Best Plumbing Services in Austin, TX
I don't write too many reviews but this gentleman just hit a nerve. I recently had my water heater changed out and soon afterwards I had some pressure issues. I called the company that swapped out my water heater and they indicated that the problem could be our softener and that they unfortunately do not service water softeners but to search for other plumbers that do.
I jumped back on Yelp and searched Water Softeners Brad B came up with excellent reviews. So I gave him a call. I work in the oilfield, so I know about working in the heat, cold, rain, dirt and sweat. I understand that it takes a toll on your tact. But the snappy and quick response he gave was unneeded. He first had issues hearing so I spoke louder. I told him that I would like to get my water softener serviced. He replied, I don't do that, you need to call a water softener company, plumbers don't do that!
In a firm believer that customer service is always worth paying for. If you want your company to prosper you need to learn to give better responses. Not your attitude. Time is money, and I'm not interested in wasting time on your attitude, I prefer your service or advice. A simple, I'm sorry sir, I do not service water Softeners but I can recommend some companies if you like, would suffice.
I had no experience with his trade but his customer service needs work. I won't be calling him ever again.

I am so glad I found these guys! I had given up hope trying to find a contractor that I was confident could fix my issue and who wasn't trying to rip me off. These guys are honest, straightforward and good at what they do. I can't recommend them enough!

The hardest trade to find in Austin is a good plumber. I read the Yelp reviews and called Gilbert this morning to come investigate a loud noise we had when we flushed the toilet in our guest bath. I was thinking the worst. Gilbert was fantastic. He came within hours of my call, knew exactly what the problem was, installed a new part in the tank and left me a happy camper all in about 30 minutes.
I'm a Realtor, and a very picky one. I have tried plumber after plumber in hopes of finding someone that I could depend on and recommend. FINALLY! I have found a reliable resource. Thank you, Gilbert! You will be hearing from us again.

When our old water heater went out, I contacted Rooter-Man based on their great Yelp reviews. I was informed that one of their plumbers, Curtis Kurka, was available. He arrived soon after, gave me a quote on a new water heater, and suggested other changes to bring it up to code. Upon my approval he had it all installed that same afternoon. I appreciate Curtis and Rooter-Man for the great work, and will use them again in the future.

Capital City Plumbing was able to get me scheduled quickly, showed up
on time, and was great with communication. They also did a great job fixing my issue. I would use them again in the future.

WONDERFUL service. We called to have a new kitchen faucet put in and they were able to come out that day! The two gentleman were professional.

This is a late review but I just wanted to reiterate what everyone here is saying. Pierre and his guys really are the most conscientious and dedicated plumbers, there's just no reason to use anyone else. If they cannot get to you as fast as you need them (what happened when we had an emergency at our place on a weekend once), they will give you the number of people they trust who can. They have fixed a few issues at our Austin homes and have always been prompt and expert. Pierre was also able to help answer some questions I had about an issue I was having with a plumber in Houston! He is generous, and truly dedicated to being the best plumber out there. We are clients for life.

Well, he's done it again.. as expected. LOL
We had a new dishwasher installed by the Best Buy Geek Squad.. (by installed I'm using the term very loosely, kinda like the install was done.. Anyhooo... After they did they're damage, (I had to have my kitchen faucet rebuilt, and they broke a line to my disposal under the sink), I was told, you'll have to call a plumber to fix the faucet and drain.. we can't do that....
So, having enlisted Dave's help about 5 yrs ago and thought (as a former homebuilder) his word AND his work, was/and still is, FIRST CLASS.. and it hasn't changed!!!! He came, looked, got a part and all is right with the world again.. Well done Dave.. Thanks!!!

I can't recommend Abel to Plumb enough. I asked for a quote & got a response in 10 minutes & scheduled a visit for the next morning. Abel assessed the problem & fixed it within an hour. His rates are very reasonable & he's really cool & easy to work with. Call him!

Braulio came and replaced a few 40 year old shutoff valves in my bathroom. Everything turned out great and the price was fair. Thanks!

Came across a small water leak on the main line coming into the house...I was happy to see that Jamie lives in my neighborhood, I mean...how much more local can you get...He showed up in about 30 minutes, gave me what I thought was a very fair quote and got to work...job was wrapped up in about 4-5 hours and was please with the whole process...Looks like we have a new Plumber that I wouldnt hesitate to call for my needs.

I had to call Jim one evening at a little before 7 pm because a pipe had broken and it was going to get below freezing that night AND we needed water. Jim came right away was very professional and obviously well versed in his knowledge. He did an emergency repair in order for us to get the water turned back on.
He came back a few days later to complete the repair, he applied the money I paid for the emergency call to the final repair (which was great). Again, Jim was incredibly professional and very personable. I will call him again and I highly recommend him to any one who needs a plumber.

No compassion for the elderly.
A/C went out in 90 degree weather. I called Stan's & explained one of the residents in the house is my 92 yr. old father, who is in failing health. They responded within 24 hours for the diagnostic. $74.00.
Diagnosis: motor failure
My decision: buy the new motor
Sell: tech said are you sure you want to put money into a 22 yr. old unit, and not buy a new system? ($4,000-$8,000). I said NO.
Resolution: would take 7 business days to get the new motor in (translates to 11 days)
I asked if there was any way to get the motor any sooner, as my father would go 11 days without A/C. I stressed he's elderly and in failing health. They said no. Then, I spoke with the parts manager, Matt, and explained the situation with my father. I asked him the same question: can we get it any sooner? He tried to influence me to buy a new unit, too, just as the technician did. Matt said the motor could possibly be expressed shipped for $125.00, but since it's late Friday afternoon, nothing could be done until Monday. Really? Kick the elderly to the curb and take their money.
I absolutely could not rest with this. Elderly people die in the heat without air conditioning. And, Stan's Heating and Air Conditioning did not care.
So, I put a call out to people & was referred to another air conditioning service company. Not only did this company show up when expected, he had a motor for my unit ON HIS TRUCK, and did the repair in about an hour! Not only that.....he informs me there is a motor shop in Austin, & that every A/C service truck has a universal motor on their trucks!! WHY couldn't Stan's Heating and Air Conditioning do this?
Also, the company I used charged me the same amount for the motor that Stan's quoted, and I didn't have to pay for a service call.
The service company I used is a smaller company than Stan's. So, my take on this is that Stan's Heating and Air Conditioning is about lining their pockets and not customer care. Stan's Heating and Air Conditioning could have done the EXACT SAME THING as the smaller company. But, why didn't they?
Stan's Heating and Air Conditioning chose not to aid the elderly, and one that is in failing health... but instead tried to SELL A BRAND NEW SYSTEM!! When that didn't work.....it would be 11 days to get the part in!!!
REBUTTAL TO Stan's Heating & Air Conditioning's response:
*A technician was scheduled Thursday MORNING to arrive between 6-7pm that night.
*The technician told me THAT NIGHT it would be 7 business days for a new motor to arrive. It was at that service call I was given the time frame of 7 business days. I specifically remember because I asked the technician if there was any way to get the motor any sooner. The answer was no, so I resigned to the fact my only option was to buy a new OEM motor & wait the 7 business days.
*Stan's owner's quote: He (tech) gave the price of an OEM motor, that he assumed could be obtained and installed the next day,
THIS IS NOT TRUE. The technician said nothing to me about installing anything the next day. He TOLD ME THAT NIGHT it would take 7 business days to get the OEM motor in.
*Stan's owner's quote: Because of the rain he couldn't have replaced the motor with a generic motor at that time. So installing the higher quality motor for the same cost made the most sense.
How does that make the most sense? The tech could have simply returned the next day with the generic motor & replaced it; instead of telling me I have to wait 7 business days for an OEM motor.
*I was not given the option of the technician to come back the next day when it wasn't raining, to put a universal motor on the unit.
*Only options I was given THAT NIGHT at the service call was to buy a brand new unit or an OEM motor that would take 7 business days to arrive.
Please, let's not twist the truth.

I spoke with a representative on the phone regarding the fees that were going to be applied to fixing our water heater.
They specifically told that there would be an $89 fee for coming out, NO diagnostics fee, and that they would quote me for a repair once they were out here.
I chose this company because they specifically told me that there would be no diagnostics fee, because I only wanted to pay for fixing the issue, not only diagnosing the issue. I made sure to triple check on the phone that there would be no diagnostics fee.
Once they got out here, they charged me $350 for diagnosis. So frustrating. Ended up turning them away.

No question, I will recommend Kirk and Wyatt to anyone in ATX that needs a plumber. These guys treat your house like it's their own. Couldn't be more impressed with the level of work, professionalism, root causes analysis and overall problem solving. Stop your search and call them.

I'm going to program Thunderbird Plumbing into my phone, maybe even speed dial!
Jeff has been out to our new home twice. Both times I've been THRILLED at his thoughtful service and honest work. We needed a gas line to our dryer and he made time to install it the same day as the estimate so we could have our washer & dryer ready to go when we moved in.
When we had a plumbing emergency he was able to check out everything quickly and reassure me that we didn't need any additional work (the city had done some work previously).
I would recommend Jeff & Thunderbird Plumbing to anyone that needs gas or plumbing work. He is careful, truthful and a genuinely nice guy.

One star for a prompt response and one for showing up when they said they would. But I've never felt so taken advantage of financially. I had a leaky toilet that required ten minutes worth of tweaking, and it cost me over $250. Recommended only for those with very deep pockets.

Olvin responded quickly to my request, reviewed my project, clearly articulated the plan, gave a fair proposal and the next day the work was down. He and his partner were very clean and thorough in their preparation wrap up.

I had a clogged drain that needed to be fixed, and called Nick at the recommendation of a neighbor. He was very responsive, and was able to squeeze me into his schedule on the same day. He was quick, considerate, personable and even entertaining. He was my first call when I needed a plumber and will be next time as well!
