Our clean-out drain was clogged and our toilets would not flush. I called Brad and he returned my call quickly and came out that same day, which was much appreciated. I immediately lost a lot of man card points when I was not able to locate the clean-out entry point when Brad got there, and I was duly embarrassed while I was nervously looking for it with Brad for the first 20 minutes of his visit. I could sense that Brad was losing patience (rightfully) and not having a good time dealing with this idiot (me). I tried to make a little conversation and lighten the mood, but I pretty much got the silent treatment for the remainder of his visit. He finally suggested that he remove one of our toilets and go in from the inside of our house with the auger snake. I realize this is a pain and I felt bad, but it worked. We found the clean-out on the side of the house, rather than the front yard, where I could have sworn it was, like the girly-man that I apparently am. He then moved to the side of the house and successfully cleaned out the pipes. Hooray! He replaced the toilet perfectly and left our house in great shape with all toilets a-flushin' and drains a-drainin'. But then he retired to his truck for the next 45 minutes while I was waiting inside with credit card in hand, missing my son's high school baseball game, I might add. I realize he had to pack up some tools and the auger in his truck and total up my bill on his tablet, and that takes some time. But I can't imagine that it takes a full 45 minutes. I feel like he was rounding me up to 2 full hours of his time at $85 per hour. So I guess I paid him $64 to get his truck in order and reflect on the day's accomplishments. Total bill was $300. Then I noticed I was charged $13 for caulk, $9 for shims, and $12 for bolts to put the toilet back in place. I would have let him use my toilet caulk or shims for free if he had just asked.
Anyway, I'm very happy that Brad was able to fix our problem quickly and completely, and I guess $300 is about right for this type of service in Austin. But I do have a problem with his general attitude and the extra 45 mystery minutes. I think we would have gotten off on a better foot if I had been more prepared with locating the clean-out. I may not know where my clean-out is, but I have other talents and people like me, gosh darnit.

Noticed a very minor leak outside that wasn't currently even effecting my water bill. Cody came out, took a look and gave me his honest opinion even though it meant them not getting my business right away. I appreciated it tremendously being a single parent/income household and now knowing it'll be a costly fix. I will definitely be giving them a call back once I'm ready to handle the fix.

I just have to give a huge shout out to Gilbert at Blue Dragon. He has replaced both my water heaters and most recently replaced my Pressure Relief Valve. He does great work, at a great price and most of all is a genuinely nice gentleman who has always been super responsive and helpful when I email him with plumbing questions. He gives me very thorough information and I appreciate him so much. You won't go wrong calling him for your plumbing needs.

I had over 10 plumbers come and bid on my somewhat complicated plumbing issue. Only 4 of them followed through with an actual estimate which ranged from $800-$7000 (no kidding!)
I was trying to put a WD connection in a tight closet on the second floor of a condo. I could tell that once they say the closet most plumbers thought it just couldn't be done.
David came in and had a clear vision of how it needed to be done. He also suggested i get a flood stop device that no one else mentioned at all. they came in did the job. cleaned up after themselves, and came in at the low end on the bid ranges. ... what more can you ask for?

We called Cap City about a leaky dishwasher. It was an excellent experience. Scheduling was easy, communication was great throughout. The dispatch app tells you exactly where your plumber is and when they will arrive. Our plumber, Nathan, was extremely through, knowledgeable, and efficient. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and helped us understand how to prevent future problems. He even went above and beyond to help us move the leaky washing machine to another room so we could treat the water damage behind it. Cap City is our go-to for all future plumbing issues

We called a month ago for repair to the water line under the sidewalk in front of my mom's house, the service was quick and the cost was reasonable, considering the difficulty of the repair. In addition, they installed a governor line for her to help reduce the blasting shower water to 50%. I noticed water from the sidewalk flowing into the street coming from the same area this past weekend, and we were worried it was the same line leaking, I called and was told its still under warranty, and they came out right away, and the broken line was actually the next door neighbors this time, apparently the sidewalk is giving way and collapsing on these water lines. I really appreciate the quick response time and for the great customer service for my mom. I have recommended this company to my other neighbors.

Before buying our house we had a hydrostatic test done, which determined the outgoing cast iron pipes were very, very leaky. The foundation is slab, so fixing this would require tunelling under the entire width of our house (over 60 feet).
We got about 5 estimates for the job and A&T was the lowest. Rick spoke with me extensively about ways that we could mitigate cost. His crew came out and got to work immediately--the entire job, start to finish, was done in 2 weeks. They were respectful, clean, considerate, and honest. I nearly cried handing over the first part of the check (it's a lot of $), but knew we went with the right people and did the right thing by the end of it.
We've since hired Rick and his crew for other (unrelated) odds and ends and their prices are always reasonable, information accurate, and their work impeccable. Couldn't recommend them more highly!

Dave was the third plumber to look at my problem (a tankless water heater that had very low pressure and wouldn't heat the water). It took a lot of diagnosis but he finally diagnosed the problem that the other plumbers could not. I will definitely call him again!

Abel is a fantastic plumber. He was very responsive when I had a plumbing emergency and has been my go to plumber ever since. (Old house, what can I say?)

Braulio is absolutely amazing! He looked into a water heater issue we had on 9/20/2019, and not only fixed everything incredibly quickly, he spent the time showing me how our water system worked and why we were having the problems that we did. We heard about Braulio from a neighbor who was raving about him, and we are absolutely fans as well. We will be using Braulio with all of our future plumbing needs, and we highly highly recommend him.

We had them out recently to try and figure out why we had a puddle in our yard. He was quick to get back to us, and we loved that he was located in Manor. We also appreciated his knowledge and honesty when he correctly stated that it was a problem with the city's water line. We will for sure hire him again if we ever have another need for a plumber.

My husband and I just moved to Austin and Jim is the second plumber we've tried. Needless to say, we won't be using anyone else. He showed up on a Friday night in bad weather within 30 minutes, fixed our kitchen sink for a good price, and texted two days later to make sure everything was working okay. Excellent service...highly recommended!!

Stan's used to be a very good company. Their techs were paid an hourly rate so there was never a need to rush through and do a half-fast job. When the new management took over (Strand Brothers) they changed it so the techs get paid per call, which makes it in the techs' best interest to do the minimum and get out.
In addition, if the tech gets stuck in our infamous Austin traffic, they aren't getting paid for that. To make up the difference, the tech has to push repair parts, which they now earn a commission on.
This is a very common place pricing strategy used by many A/C companies, and I was saddened to see Stan's had become just another A/C company.
Also, service has been really luck-of-the-draw. They have some great techs, but also a few very not so great techs. That's probably why most of these reviews are either 5-star or 1-star. Good luck with that.
They even took away their long standing senior citizen discount policy. I handle the paperwork for my wife's mother in Sun City, which is what really prompted this review. There's just been a downward trend the past couple seasons, and I just found out why.
The 2-star Meh. I've experienced better rating for Stan's is the best fit. Not amazingly terrible, but the quality/price ratio just isn't what it used to be.

They came out quickly and diagnosed the problem and took the time to give me recommendations on how to control the roots growing in the pipes. They also gave me a quote on having everything dug up and re-piped. They were very knowledgeable and professional.

This is the second time I have used Plumb & Order and both Wyatt and Kirk have been so so great. Each time they've been able to not just stop the problem, but full on fix the issue in the same day. They are friendly, educated, professional, and don't give you the runaround. I trust their expertise and especially as a woman homeowner, appreciate having a tradesperson I can trust.

I have been planning to replace my 15 year old hot water tank with some kind of Tankless Water Heater for many years. I have researched many residential and a few commercial water heaters and then read reviews. I also inquired with a number of local and a national plumbing company in Austin and what I got were a lot of excuses and reasons why they didn't think I'd want a tankless water heater!?
Jeff at Thunderbird was the first plumber I have talked to who not only sold the model I wanted and needed, but he also came to my house and gave me a written quote the same morning I contacted his company.
The system he installed (Navien 240-A) is far more advanced than what I had been reading about for years. It's a South Korean brand I have never seen before, yet it was simple to operate and very sophisticated inside. I looked up the technical details, the diagrams, and read reviews, like these here in Yelp. It's rated at 200,000 BTU's max, has a very high flow rate (11 GPM) and still works with my 1/2 inch gas line.
I had planned to have this tank installed outside my house, as they do in many commercial buildings and restaurants around here (like NXNW). However, because this tank is so efficient, the exhaust is more like my drier. It did not need expensive stainless steel vents, which can cost as much as the water heater !
My tankless system provides instant hot water, because it has a recirculation pump built-in, which worked with the existing plumbing in my house. There is no cold/hot/cold water sandwich - just a stead supply of hot water when to turn on the tap, run a shower, or fill up my whirlpool tub (which I could not do with the old 50 gallon tank).
This is a HIGH TECH UPGRADE to my home and an improvement that will reduce the cost of natural gas and wasted water. It's exactly what I wanted and the workmanship is worth showing off. I'm taking pictures and sharing them with everyone.

I had a slab leak and rather than doing an exploratory dig, another plumbing service recommended Mark for a sound test. He came out, felt around, and said No need for the test, you have a hot water leak right here.
So he saved me some money there, since the test is like $300. I told him where I thought the pipes were and by cutting through drywall and backtracking, he was able to isolate the leak and cap it so it affected only a single bathroom.
He recommended re-piping around the leak rather than digging up my foundation to fix the pipe itself. I agreed. He also suggested using a PEX product for hot water lines, since it was cheaper, but I went with copper instead.
The re-piping took a couple of hours but was uneventful. He also re-piped a cold water line to my refrigerator that had leaked, capped an indoor propane line, and (ultimately) replaced a utility sink that had been leaking. It's been about 2 weeks since and I haven't had to call him back.
He showed up when he said he would and his work has been very good. I'd say his pricing is just above average. He's not the cheapest I've hired but he's not the most expensive either.

Olvin and his crew did a great job. I had a small patio that needed tiling. Olvin gave me a reasonable quote. On the day of installation, they showed up on time and completed the job as we agreed to. And the finished job turned out great. I'd highly recommend him.

Broke my spigot on the side of my house. Spot-on was out here quickly and very communicative about prices and the prices to complete the project correctly.

Very expensive. Ask for quote before you give him the job. I ended up paying up to $135/hour
