Contacted 2 other plumbers, both were no show,
no call. Called Standard Plumbing on Xmas day
and the owner contacted me immediately and said
he would be out first thing Monday morning.
He was here right on time, fixed the break and got
our water back on...we had been without for 4

So, I'm one of the unfortunate Austin-ites that suffered an extended power outage in 2021 with the snow. So to avoid that in the future I went out and bought a generator (Champion 10k tri-fuel). I don't love the idea of having gasoline but we do have Natural Gas to the house so I just needed a plumber to come out and run a line to near the generator.

I contacted quite a few companies, and got varied responses from We dont work on small gas jobs to There's a $100 call out charge to get a quote. This is a job that can be fairly accurately estimated with pictures.

I did have a few come out and got pretty ridiculously high quotes and time estimates to install. Getting a little tired I got a very strong recommendation by a neighbor to give Standard Plumbing a text with the pictures.

Within a few minutes Braulio had responded and gave me an immediate quote and time frame. He offered to come in person to confirm the quote and could do the work that same day. Amazing start (especially compared to the others!).

When he came to confirm the quote and parts needed he was on time and great to chat with. You knew you were dealing with someone who had my best interest at heart.

Well, lo and behold, even though I had 3 other companies in person quoting thousands of dollars, Braulio noticed that next to my air conditioner there was already an unused gas pipeline. That's easy for a homeowner to miss (it wasn't capped so just looked like a pipe) but certainly not for the 3 other plumbers who almost certainly saw it, or chose not to see it, before quoting me to put in a duplicate pipe that would have run right past this one.

He immediately gave me a quote to bring it up to spec for my generator which was literally 1/10th of the other quotes and he popped off to the supply store, came back within 30 minutes and finished job within that hour. AWESOME!

While I shouldn't be blown away by his honestly and great work ethic, compared to the others he's a worlds apart. Truely had my best interests at heart and I've already recommended him to multiple neighbors.

We needed to get our outside hose spigot fixed from a leak. Braulio was the best priced and responded very promptly. He replaced it and made everything really quick and easy. I will be keeping this businesses information close for the next time I need any plumbing work!

I texted Braulio with an issue with one of my rental properties.  The water was coming out very slowly from one of the bathroom faucets.  He told me to replace the aerator ($4) and fortunately my tenant was able to help out and give it a try (I live out of state).  Sure enough, fixed the problem right up.  It is so refreshing to have someone honest that will shoot you straight and give you the $4 fix and not make anything instead of just charging $250 for a service call.  Standard Plumbing will be my new go-to for all of my plumbing needs.

I reached out to standard plumbing a few months after getting a home inspection and he really broke down the details of what each item really meant and what made sense to repair now vs what really didn't need to be done until a larger scope of work was undertaken, saving me a decent bit of money and potential rework hassle since i had been considering getting the individual things fixed ahead of it. In my case, bringing individual parts of a very old water heater up to code vs waiting until it needed to be replaced and putting all the needed items in then.

He was also willing to offer sensible advice for trivial fixes that someone without advanced plumbing experience wouldn't have, so I really can't recommend him enough. He saved me time, effort, and money, and I will definitely return to specifically him when I need to get my full water heater system replaced.

Our water heater started leaking. Very fast response from Braulio! He helped me over phone to troubleshoot and diagnose where the leak may be coming from. He went over what options I had and even recommended following up with manufacturer to check if any warranty was left on the old heater.  He provided a detailed quote of the work he would provide and when he would be able to perform the job.  He also informed me of available city rebates that I could submit. He arrived when he said he would, on time!  Braulio is always very friendly and courteous.  The job was completed successfully and I am very satisfied with the work he did.

Braulio at Standard Plumbing was great! He responded quickly, was willing to provide an estimate over Yelp with photos (which a lot of people aren't willing to do), scheduled an appointment quickly and showed up when he said he would. These are basic things, but he did them all and I really appreciate that! Not to mention, he did great work installing my new water heater, working in a tight cabinet that held my old unit from 30 years ago and including all the items to bring my system up to code. I would use him again.

Update to my last review: Braulio has blown my wife and me off twice since he installed our toilet at the start of the pandemic. That toilet, by the way, has been sliding across the floors by a couple inches, and he ignored my recent message asking if he could take a look at it.

In that message, I also requested a quote for help with a toilet/plumbing issue (in a different bathroom) and a fridge water dispenser problem.

He ignored everything except to say he can't fix the fridge thing. I guess he's busy, but the half response-brush-off was rude.

If I could give Braulio six stars, I would. Our water heater started leaking badly this week; it was a nightmare scenario, especially since I don't know anything about plumbing and leaking water kinda freaks me out.

He asked me to text him some pics and quickly diagnosed the issue (we needed a new water heater).

He was out here the next morning, had it replaced in a few hours for a fair price, and did some extra work on our pipes at no additional charge.

After another plumber flaked, I reached out to Braulio. He responded almost immediately with a quote and availability the next morning. He showed up on time and did the work (new faucet install) in under an hour. Looks great and works great. Highly recommend!

I'm going to echo all the good reviews. I already had a quote from another plumber, so I knew what needed to be done--replacing the home shut off valve and the pressure relief valve. Other plumbers wanted to make an appointment before giving a quote but Braulio gave me a quote right away, which I really appreciated. The quote was very reasonable, and he was responsive when I had questions, and he got me on the schedule quickly, and he did the repair--plus a few other repairs I added on--quickly. He also told me I didn't need a more expensive repair that another plumber had quoted on my toilet that was running, and he fixed it with a cheaper and faster repair. He was also very pleasant and went over all the work done when I asked him to show me how the new valves worked.

Long story short-- he was great and I recommend him!

I was in need of relocating my water heater from the house interior to the garage. No small thing considering ending and moving water connections. I called Braulio from a recommendation from a remodeler that uses his services all the time. Braulio came by the house that afternoon, assessed the job and had my estimate by that night.

Our 21-year-old hot water died. Braulio had us send pictures, gave us a quote right away, and was able to come out the very next day to replace it. He let us know he was coming, showed up within the estimated time window, and had everything replaced and operational within a couple of hours.

Been without hot water for 5.5 weeks from the snowstorm waiting around for another plumbing company (with bad response time and attitude) to get inventory on the same tankless water heater we had. I ended up calling around town to distributors and found my own unit that I purchased and started looking for licensed plumbers to just install. Braulio was the quickest to respond with SAME DAY SERVICE and A REASONABLE QUOTE during these tough times!!!

I can't say enough good things about Standard Plumbing and its owner Braulio.  He quickly replied to my inquiry for a replacement water heater after the Feb 2021 blizzard.  He scheduled us quickly and kept us updated on his arrival by text.  After looking at our water heater, he found that only a small part had broken. He thought the water heater was in good condition otherwise and recommended only replacing the part, which was 1/10th the cost of what I planned to pay to replace the entire unit.  He said it was no problem to return the new unit he'd brought with him.  He showed me the part that was broken and gave me suggestions on how to manage the remaining years of our existing unit.

Having a plumbing emergency is not fun but Braulio is professional, knowledgeable and a man of integrity.  Plus he's a really nice person.   We are already scheduling him for another project at our home.  Highly recommended, thank you Braulio!

I've been super lucky with repair people in Austin, so I can be pretty hard to impress. But dang...these reviews about Braulio don't lie. He communicated with me almost instantly via text, and I really appreciated not having to play phone tag. His quote was totally reasonable. He came out on a Saturday morning, exactly on time, and had the whole job done in less than three hours. He took credit cards. My friend who has done a bit of plumbing pointed out all the things he had done well, saying it was clear he knew what he was doing. Plus, as many people have noted, he's just a nice, chill, friendly guy. I'm definitely adding his name to my contact list, and I hope y'all don't overbook him now, so he still has availability the next time I need plumbing work!

I sent a request on Yelp for emergency assistance reinstalling toilets some flooring contractors had removed. Our water heater was leaking, so we called Standard plumbing. We left a message and within minutes, our call was returned. Braulio showed up within 45 minutes as promised.
He was professional and his quote was reasonable.
Within a few hours, we had a new water heater. From the time we called to the time he drove away, it was less than five hours. All this considering our water heater is in the attic.
His work was clean, efficient, and took the time to go over everything, including warranty.
In light of the pandemic and physical distancing, he also ensured he kept his distance, wore gloves and ensured his and our safety.

Fixed my water heater when it broke. I texted him, as I usually do, and he responded that he will be at my house in less than 10 minutes! He replaced the part and we have warm water again. In the past he has installed a dish washer and fixed plumbing in my bathroom. He gives you an honest estimate and that is rare. I recommend you get in touch with Standard Plumbing if you need a plumber that is great and honest! A rare find!

I've been fortunate to not need to call a plumber in the past 10 years but water heaters have a limited lifespan and ours (a cheapo, inefficient model that was original to the house) was on its last legs.  Braulio is easy to work with - he promptly returned my calls when I requested a quote and again when I wanted to schedule his services.  He showed up on time (5 minutes early actually).  The work was completed efficiently and cleanly and done for a fair price.  Braulio even did a quick check of our garbage disposal, which had been making a terrible noise (turns out a small piece of a plastic lid had gotten in there; he reached in and fixed the problem in like 15 seconds).  I hope to not need a plumber anytime soon (who does?) but if I do, I'm definitely going to call Braulio / Standard Plumbing.

We had a leaky shower head that was wasting water and causing mildew buildup in our shower from being wet all the time. Once we reached out to Standard Plumbing, Braulio contacted me within minutes to assess the situation, give an estimate, and set a time for repair. He was on time and the repair took less than an hour to complete. Great work. We will definitely be calling Standard Plumbing for future repairs.

My hot water heater died and Braulio came out the same day I contacted him to look at it. He then came back the next day and replaced the whole unit. He was very professional, quick and took the time to explain the issues and options with me. I would definitely use him again.

If you're reading this, you're likely about to request quotes from several companies. Stop. I can save you time and money.

We had noticed a garbage disposal leaking for a long time, and it finally had gotten to the point where we needed it replaced. We got a new one and needed it installed by an expert.

Braulio quickly gave me a quote over the Request a Quote tool on Yelp. (btw, that's super easy for this job, Yelp, how did I never use that before?) And much like others have said -- he actually gave a price to do the job, and not just a we can charge you to see it, and then charge you to fix it. His pricing was very fair, and he was able to fit us in that same day.

I heard back from the other companies several hours later and not a simple one compared in that department, so glad I made an early decision to go with Braulio.

More importantly -- the work onsite was great and painless. He knew exactly what he was doing, and it showed.

He went above and beyond just hooking stuff up. He also noticed where the previous garbage disposal and the tubes around it had been incorrectly installed in the first place, and made sure to re-check and tighten up all pieces. And then talk to me about it to make sure that we were satisfied (which we were).

Exactly what you want - do a good job, charge me a fair price.

The next time we need a plumber, he'll be at the top of our list. Assuming he is available, I expect he'll be in higher demand soon!

Working with Standard Plumbing to get my water heater replaced was a breeze.

Braulio quoted me in a few hours over the Request A Quote tool on Yelp. He was one of 3 people that actually gave me a price range through the tool and not just a we can't know until we see it. His price was not only the cheapest, but he also had the first availability. (which is super important when it comes to hot showers)

After he arrived at 8:30AM the next morning, he quoted me a firm price for the install and a ballpark for the hot water heater which was dependant on Home Depot's prices. We shook hands and he was off to work.

He worked alone, but it only took a couple hours to completely install the water heater. It was way less painful than I thought it would be.. I'd recommend Braulio to anyone! I sent a message via yelp first and was given the flat fee upfront for the service which I appreciated. Braulio then got in touch and came over within the hour. He took at look at my old disposal, told me the expected cost of the same unit and went out and grabbed it. He came back, finished the job and left me with my disposal good as new, now I no longer need a bucket under my sink. I will definitely call back if I have issues with anything else in the future.

I just moved into my house and realized that while there is natural gas in my kitchen, my laundry room was only equipped with electric connections. Big problem since I own a gas dryer.  Enter Braulio to the rescue. He called me back soon after I left a message and we scheduled an appointment. He installed a new gas line from the main gas line down to the laundry room. He is friendly, professional and knowledgeable and got the project done for the price he had estimated before he started. When my water heater stopped working, I was sure I was going to need a new one, given its age (~14 yrs). Braulio saw that it was in good condition and asked me whether I wanted to try to fix it instead. He saved me a lot of money that day.

Braulio never disappoints. We hired him to reroute our kitchen sink water supply lines after a major leak. He was on time, courteous and considerate. The job was impeccably done  (our GC complimented on it!) and his rate very reasonable.  This is the 3rd plumber we hire for various jobs and he is by very far the best we've had!

He wont take every job...some jobs are just too small and should be left up to the homeowner to just replace the small stuff.  However, for the stuff that matters, needs permits, corrections or major installations, Braulio is your man.

Great service!  I had tried to DIY my clogged sink.  I was unsuccessful in unclogging and was unable to tighten the slip nuts.  Now I had a waterfall under my sink!  Braulio answered my phone call while he was on a job site.  He was able to make an for the following day.  The day of the repair, he sent a text message with a time of arrival.   I left my office to meet him at my home and he was already there!  After I told him my story, he knew exactly what to do.  I appreciate him being on time, quick repair and great price!  I have found a new plumber and highly recommend his company!

I can only echo the other reviews. Braulio is fantastic - quick to reply, straightforward/reasonable pricing, and very friendly. It's like having a good friend over that's also an expert plumber. I have contacted and used many other plumbers in Austin, and they can't hold a candle to Braulio. When my water heater started leaking I knew I was in trouble. But it didn't stop working right away so I had some time to shop. Then it went out completely and I needed to have it fixed. I contacted several plumbers including Braulio, and he had the best price, the brand of water heater I was looking for (A.O. Smith), and availability that day. He had the new water heater installed that afternoon, did a fantastic job including adding the components now required by code, and did not add anything to the original quote. I highly recommend this business and will use Braulio again for any new plumbing needs.

Braulio did a wonderful job removing an old vanity and installing a new one in my guest bathroom. I sent him a message via yelp and he was very quick to respond and gave me a quote on the spot without requiring pictures or having to come see the job. He came on time for the appointment and worked very efficiently and even swept after himself before leaving. The new vanity looks great, and I will definitely be using him again this fall when we put in a new tub later this year!

We found Standard through Porch.com.  Braulio replied immediately with a quote for the job that needed to be done, tank-less water heater installation.  I didn't have to waste my time setting up a consultation AND a service appointment. All I had to do was send him some photos of the install site.  I contacted him on Tuesday and he completed the job on Thursday!  He was on time, efficient, knowledgeable, personable and VERY affordable.  Another company was going to charge me 3 times what Braulio charged us!! I will definitely use him again for all my plumbing needs.

The pilot light in water heater went out last night and I couldn't get it restarted. I called Standard Plumbing this morning and Braulio was able to diagnose the problem. He had me send pictures of the unit to determine if could replace the part or would need a new water heater. Thankfully it was the former. Within minutes he replied back with a reasonable price and was able to begin work in about an hour. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and I enjoyed our interaction. We had a garbage disposal that we thought needed to be replaced. We reached out late one evening and Braulio was able to come the next day. Thankfully our entire garbage disposal didn't need to be replaced and it was a quick fix. Braulio was extremely nice and helpful through the entire process and we will be using him now for all our plumbing leads.

Standard Plumbing was very quick to return to my inquire. I am really impressed by his integrity, and here is why. Braulio showed up on time, and did a through diagnose. I saw water stain on the ceiling of downstairs, we suspect the bathroom above it might had a leak. But after running shower, flushing toilet multiple times, he couldn't find any leak. But he did point out that standing water on the bathroom floor might get through my upstair bathroom tile grout. He also helped me removed a bathroom shower door to prevent more water get on the floor. Guess what, since he didn't find the leak, he didn't charge me for the visit.  I would recommend Standard Plumbing, and would definitely use him again.

I used Standard several months ago and just forgot to leave a review. Had a simple install of a garbage disposal, but when Braulio saw that prior plumbing setup under my sink was all out of whack he went ahead and fixed it all up for me at no extra charge.  He was fast, kind, and clearly very good at what he does.  I remember telling him that after that initial visit that I think he's won my business for any plumbing needs from here on out.

Wow! What an amazing experience. No one ever wants to have to call a plumber, but I have zero complaints about this experience. I am remodeling a shower and am on a tight schedule. Unfortunately, it is during the holidays.  In order for my next contracter to come in, I had to get my shower drain sorted. We ran into a snag when we couldn't remove the old drain from the concrete slab. I put in a request for a quote to 10 plumbers at 8pm. Braulio responded within 10 minutes. I submitted a request for a quote through the Yelp app and the responded in less than 15 minutes. Within a day they came out to help me fix my leaking shower.  I can't thank them enough.

I'd highly recommend using Standard Plumbing. I reached out to Braulio on a Monday after I noticed my toilet start to leak, and he fit me into his schedule on Tuesday. He diagnosed the problem quickly and was able to fix it within an hour. My wax ring had worn out, so he replaced the ring and reset my toilet. His price was appropriate for the work. I will be using him again in the future for my plumbing needs.

We needed a new water heater as ours was very old and couldn't keep up with the demands of our household. Our water was constantly going cold after two showers in the morning and it made it very hard when we had guests because we had to split showers between morning and evening, to ensure enough hot water. We called Braulio and he recommended the brand of water heater we should purchase. We ordered it and he picked it up for us, installed the new water heater and removed and disposed of the old one all very fast. The price was reasonable he does good work. We had a question about the water heater the following day and he came back out to answer it for us and show us some details about the workings of the new system. We are very happy!

I think Braulio did a very good job replacing our water heater in the attic.  He quoted for different options including tankless, and his prices were below the average of the range of quotes I received.  We chose to work with him because he was the most responsive and provided the most info.  He showed up on time and got the work done quickly.  We are pleased and would recommend.

Braulio responded quickly, showed up when he said he would, quoted a good price, did good work, and was easy to work with. Fixed a broken water supply line in the yard with fast-dry cement so my tenants could have water again ASAP.

I highly recommend working with Braulio and Standard Plumbing. I found him through another site where he responded to my project. His quote was slightly higher than the lowest one I received but I had a good gut feeling about working with him. And sure enough I'm glad I did. His care and attention to detail impressed me tremendously. He had to connect a new gas line to a heater and the original plan had been to run a new pipe by the side of the house but he came up with a way to run it through the wall, hiding the pipes. He did a great job putting back the siding where he had to cut in as well. Finally he stayed and helped me make sure the gas heat kicked in and was working. He's a friendly and personable guy and just was a pleasure to work with on the project. I'd hire him for any future project I have to get done.

My water heater went out and after receiving a few very inflated price quotes, some flaky dropped appointments, a few wasted days with no hot water and general frustration, I reached back out to Braulio to set an appointment. Unlike other folks I talked with, he was up front about his availability so I was able to correctly plan my timing. He arrived on time, he discussed equipment options, he was honest about equipment costs and timing and once the work was completed, he went through and tested everything, showed me how to make changes to the water heater and even discussed my faucet and ways to make it function better.
Bottom line: I will not contract out any plumbing work to any other company at any time unless there is no way Braulio can do it first. He is now my first, best and only choice for any work that might come up. Personable, reliable and honest. So glad it worked out the way it did.

I had a leak under my sink and called them and left a message. They called back within about 30 minutes and came out the same day. My garbage disposal needed to be replaced so they charged $100 plus parts which I thought was reasonable. My sink was fixed by the end of the day.

Braulio is that good! I had him repair / replace my water-main, we started with a quick quote based on text messages and photos. He then qualified the quote with a visit later that day and we setup a time for the repair. He was a little early getting here on the day of service, which was very nice. Braulio walked me through the process and was done before I could make my way home for lunch. I will definitely be calling Standard Plumbing when it's time to replace my water heater.

I was so impressed with Braulio!  He responded right away on Yelp and came out the next day.  My water heater needed to be replaced, a couple tub spouts connected and a toilet installed.  He did it all that morning and was done by early afternoon.  He was incredibly friendly, professional and efficient.  He explained everything I'd need to know for the future and double checked everything I was having issues with to make sure everything was in order when he left.  I would 100% hire him again for any plumbing needs.  I highly, highly recommend!  I'm so happy to have had such a hassle-free experience.  :)

Great company. Fixed a sink drain and shower drain that were installed backwards! They kept clogging, which was very frustrating.  Standard Plumbing came in and fixed the drains in just under an hour!
