This group is great. The best. Super responsive when we had an issue. They offered to come that day. Once here they quickly diagnosed the problem, and they had it fixed within 30 minutes! Super friendly (and dog friendly!) technicians. They started with the let's try this inexpensive fix first, and that's all it took (and no trying to sell me more than I needed).

We used them a year ago as well, when we had a pretty major issue and needed a re-route of some pipes. Also great for this bigger job.

I'll go here first every time.

They did a great job fixing my bathtub! The faucet wouldn't turn off and needed to be repaired and they were able to come out the next day to fix it. They were really quick and charged a very reasonable price, which I was shocked about as usually plumbers wildly overcharge.

They provide excellent services.  Technician came on time and perform a great job.  Gave great advices on maintenance on hot water tank.  All at a reasonable charge.

Really friendly, both over the phone in being accommodating to my schedule, and in person.  I had a pipe burst while I was out of town, and was coming back in town Friday night and was hoping to have water back on by Saturday.  Nathan was able to come out first thing Saturday and was very friendly and polite.  He was happy to answer questions and explain to me how things worked and was able to identify and fix the issue faster than I could've imagined.  He was upfront about the costs and I can say this is a very honest business that does quality work at a fair price.

Came out to give us an estimate. Emailed the proposal, we replied we had a couple of questions but would like to move forward, never heard back (email nor phone). (They seemed very eager though to take $89 for the estimate)

I'm not impressed.  I never had issues with plumbing details at the house until they got involved.  Now, within 3 months time, suddenly the house has had 2 major plumbing issues; each costing over $3,000 to repair plus additional costs to have sheetrock replaced and painted.
It's rather suspicious that once they repaired an issue then suddenly another issue appeared.

Quick to respond and easy to deal with. My 15 year old water heater decided to call it quits and we were stuck without being able to run the dishwasher or take hot showers. I submitted a quote request over Yelp to multiple businesses and they not only did a good
Job communicating with me, they were able to beat some of the other quotes I got and were able to come out in a couple of hours. Jason worked very hard and was extremely polite and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend!

I can't be happier today than right this moment with Capital City Plumbing & Drain. They swooped down like Iron Man and Captain America and saved my day. I left them a message in the middle of the night on Yelp, and not only did they follow up on the message, but they also called me back and found someone to come to my house immediately.

Allow me a moment to rave and cheer over the phone call. That was a professional phone call. The lady who called me asked me proper probing questions, got my name and address, had a great follow-up, and sent me a text message and email with links. When she took my email, she even repeated it back, which is not something everyone does. She is an exemplary example of how to take calls for situations like this, and she deserves a raise. Unfortunately, I forgot to write her name down, and that's on me. Yet, I just found it a breath of fresh air given the morning I've had trying to find a plumber to help me.

Hunter and Mike arrived, on time, well dressed, and were professionals. In less than 30 minutes, they had figured out what was wrong. This situation will require a follow-up, and I am looking forward to it. Who looks forward to future plumbing jobs? Not me normally, but I am now!

Best yet, there wasn't some weird pressure-filled sales situation. They were honest, explained my options, and were fine with what we decided. The prices are more than reasonable.

Had a copper pipe problem and needed a new line. Received an estimate within an hour. Plumber Mike arrived on time and got the job done.

My one suggestion is that they improve their billing process. If the credit card reader on the plumber's phone doesn't work, I'd love to pay online, rather than calling in my cc number.

If I was to describe a bad business model I would take this one as an example. Spoke to them late evening on Friday, was told that someone will get back to me in two hours. Never happened however they did text me Saturday morning. Made an appointment for Monday 9-12, received a confirmation, canceled all my business and took a day off.  At 11 texted them and asked to confirm that someone is on the way. The response was I have you between 12-3. I sent them back their own conformation. Imagine my reaction when I was told that they changed my appointment without informing me. Just see the screen shot.
I obviously explained my situation and the need to go back to work later however they refused to honor the appointment. When I asked to talk to the owner I did not get any reply. This is hardly a responsible business and most certainly an example of a horrible customer service.

I received a call from the owner who expressed his apologies and provided the insight.  While I am still rather upset with the situation I decided to edit the review. Seems that the owner was rather sincere and at least is trying to run the company  responsibly and customer oriented. Too bad for me, it did not work this time.

Fixed my tub leak for less than their estimate and had a subcontractor option to repair the drywall damage the same day they finished.

Update:

Down grading review to 1 star. Issue is not fixed 2 days after their visit.
After their visit My tenant later inform me that after capital plumbing left in the evening they attempted to use the hot water and the alarms in the house went off and they smelled gas. They shut off the gas and were so worried about a fire they wanted to call the fire department

I called capital plumbing all day the next day I left a voice mail about the site situation . I didn't get call back until 6pm but only to ask for payment. They then asked why I didn't call sooner to tell them about the emergency. I called several times without success. Then they told me they would get back to me to schedule someone to fix it that evening. It is now 16 hrs later and no response from capital plumbing. The heater is not fixed and may be in a unsafe state.

The owner responded to my review only to make excuses and ask for payment. As far as I'm concerned they haven't fixed the issue. Let's see if he takes ownership to fix this

Professionalism is alive and well! Capital came four days ago to find and repair a broken pipe. Best experience ever with a plumbing company. As you can see in the screenshot, our water consumption went back to normal the same day they fixed the leak! I've sent all of the necessary proof of repair information to the City of Austin. I should see some sort of credit on our utility bill soon! Shout out to Jason.

Capital City did an amazing job with my bent bathtub spout! They were easy to communicate with. Antonio was honest and efficient and only charged me the trip fee when another plumbing company quoted me over $460! I will definitely use them again for our future plumbing needs! Highly recommend!

We had a pressure regulator, new shut off, and an irrigation double check valve.  They don't normally do irrigation work, but our setup was very non-standard, and I couldn't find an irrigation contractor that would touch it.
Our plumber, Jason, was a very good communicator and a hard worker.  The got the job done, its been a few months and we've had no issues.

UPDATE:
I need to respond to each point this company has made:

1. Our owner has reached out to you multiple times to discuss with no return call.

REPLY: Correct, there is nothing to discuss. When you are hired that is when you have an opportunity to discuss, not afterwards. I don't need to talk to anyone now. Nothing left to say.

2. We do not sell certain versions or old models based off of stock. We purchase directly from a local supplier. The model offered is not an older model. I'm afraid there is confusion. What is the new version your referring to?

REPLY: You are incorrect. You offered me the Navien 240A, some plumbers and plumbing supply stores still have that old model. I wanted, and got, the Navien 240A2. This is the new version of the Navien 240A. Call Navien and get schooled if you need help on their products.

3. We would of been happy to break down your estimate, no problem. We do it all the time. Dispatch notified your technician (we have proof) but he was provided your work number and when we called they stated you no longer work there. We apologize typically our technicians call back promptly but this was an unfortunate situation. It was an honest mistake.

REPLY: You are being dishonest and trying to cover yourselves. We communicated by text, email and phone. You were well versed in how to get in touch with me not only by phone, but also text and email. If you dialed a work #, which I find impossible because I have not had a work # since 1998, you could have connected in other ways if you wanted to. I had to call in to you 3 times asking for the breakdown. Why you don't do that right up front is odd at a minimum, and dishonest at most. I shouldn't have to chase you to get the breakdown I asked for. You dropped the ball, dd not get back to me when you had multiple ways to do so, and left me without hot showers or the ability to use my dishwasher, for a long time.

4. Troubleshooting with the manufacturer is the most commonly used method for determining the issue. Had we not determined the unit needed to be replaced, another company would of and they would have charged for their time as well. They would of called the manufacturer too. It is the best practice. It is frustrating that the wait times are extremely long but that is NOT our fault and YES we do charge for our time. We do know what we are doing. Some issues we can solve right away and other times for more complex issue we need to go through the process of troubleshoot

REPLY: the plumber that eventually fixed everything did so immediately, with no need to hold on long hold times with the manufacturer, and also pointed out something else that you missed that needed to be fixed. I did not tell them what the problem was, I just asked them to come and look at the issue cold, to see if they performed any differently than you.

Sometimes we all make mistakes, but for some reason no one wants to admit to their mistakes. They spin, lie or make up stories. You dropped the ball, period. Take the bad review like an adult, and learn from it, and move on. You have lots of good reviews, hopefully you'll alter your methods and do better going forward, and this will just be a lesson learned.

My main water line valve broke during the infamous Austin winter freeze and I didn't even realize it. My water pressure was low, my sprinklers weren't working, and my grass was dying.  It sucked.  At first, I thought it was an issue with the sprinkler.  Nope.  Next I thought it was my sprinkler water lines....nope.  At that point I gave up and called up some plumbers to get an estimate.  Most of the plumbers quoted in the 700+ range for a replacement....and other fees in some instances. In rare instances, the plumbers never called back.  Welcome to Austin.  

Thankfully, I was able to connect with Capital City Plumbing and they quoted in the expected range (~500ish).  I replaced my valve with PEI to prevent another burst if another freeze were to come to Austin.  The work was complete on time, exactly as quoted, and I was happy.  No more water pressure issues.  Thank you!

Update: Gabriel called and explained in a very polite and patient manner why the guys did what they did and convinced me that they didn't just want their customer to spend as much as possible. They also issued a refund of $89. Changing to 4 stars for the great communication.

My irrigation system was having a low water pressure problem after the city replaced the water meter. I had these guys come out to take a look, for which they charged $89. After they arrived, they were quick to conclude that it was a PRV issue after less than 10 minutes of diagnosis. They wanted to dig the PRV up and replace it, which would cost me $600+. I was very skeptical because water pressure was fine inside the house, it was only the sprinklers that had low water pressure. I told them I needed to think about it. After they left, I watched some YouTube videos on how to tweak the sprinkler valves and followed the instructions, and voila, the water pressure was back up.

Awesome company and wonderful folks! Came out same day and fixed our issue. Very fair pricing as well. Highly recommend!

We had an awful main line clog ended up flooding one bathroom and two bathtubs with sewage. Rito rooter sent out two techs on separate days and they were not able to fix it. We called many other places and they all quoted us over $1k because our toilet (a toro) is unusual and because we don't have a main line entry point in our yard (thanks TX).

Capital City got back to us within the hour and were about to come out a couple of hours after on the same day. They fixed the issue within an hour, didn't have trouble with the weird toilet, and did it all for cheaper than we were quoted everywhere else.

Did they fix the problem? Yes. Was I taken advantage of? Probably.

I was charged $890 to pull a toilet and run an auger down it and clear tree roots out of the main sewage line. The entire operation took 1.5 hours including a trip to the store. The only parts used was a wax seal  and tube of caulk which is $15.

Even if they are charging me for drive time, let's say 2.5 hours of total time, and let's say they marked up the wax ring and caulk to $90, we're still talking well over $300 an hour for a one man crew.

That's not reasonable. This wasn't a weekend or after hours appointment.

But I was stuck with a house with a blocked main sewage line and I couldn't tell my tenant to just deal with no toilets or showers for another day while I found someone cheaper.

It was a bad experience.

In their defense, they did show up in the promised window, they did satisfactorily resolve the issue, and the office staff was friendly on the phone. But no one likes being over charged.

Capital City Plumbing & Drain has bailed us out countless times over the last couple of years. They were able to fix a leak from our main water line that 2 other plumbing companies weren't able to find, installed a new homeowner shutoff valve, rerouted old sprinkler systems and water lines, fixed leaky faucets and replaced shower cartridges in our guest bathroom, and handled all of the plumbing work in a recent master bathroom remodel.

They are very professional, always show up on time, and give you honest estimates based on the materials and work. Jeff and his team are the most trustworthy plumbers I've ever come across. I highly recommend them for all of your plumbing needs.

We called Cap City about a leaky dishwasher. It was an excellent experience. Scheduling was easy, communication was great throughout. The dispatch app tells you exactly where your plumber is and when they will arrive. Our plumber, Nathan, was extremely through, knowledgeable, and efficient. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and helped us understand how to prevent future problems. He even went above and beyond to help us move the leaky washing machine to another room so we could treat the water damage behind it. Cap City is our go-to for all future plumbing issues

Capital City Plumbing has fair pricing and great people. They helped me updating some plumbing in my front bathroom. I will definitely call them for future needs!

Our kitchen sink had been draining slowly and one night we realized that while running the dishwasher and the shower we were having backflow in our garage. We consulted a couple of plumbers who suggested hydrojetting and we saw quotes as high as $675 for that service. Gabriel quoted us $250 less than what those guys quoted. When he came to look at our drainage issue, he determined hydrojetting wasn't going to help our issue and recommended snaking instead,
even though it cost less. That's integrity, when you are honest about meeting your customer's needs even when it means you can't charge them as much. At the end of the day, he saved us over $400 compared to the other plumbers. Lesson learned: shop around and definitely give Gabriel a call!

Had a faulty shower valve cartridge which left running water in my shower.  After finally figuring out the 2 water shut off valves in the street and garage, and one sleepless night, I contacted Capitol the next morning.  They had Patrick out the next morning and he did a great job with fixing the problem very efficiently.  Their communication system was wonderful which is always a big challenge.  Would highly recommend them!

Had a really annoying shower leak issues and they found it quickly and fixed it. Easy to schedule, came out quickly, and fixed it for a fair price.

We called Capital City to request a technician to evaluate and repair low hot water pressure in master bedroom sink. They were able to come out the date the day that I called.  Scheduling was very easy, the dispatch tool tells where the plumber is and when to expect arrival.  Our plumber, Nathan and crew were extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and extremely efficient.  Nathan replaced the line going to the faucet, which was coated with calcium deposits. He recommended we replace the faucet unit.  We also them drain to flush our 75 gallon hot water tank, to clear out calcium deposits. We purchased the replacement faucet online, and Nathan's team returned to install the new faucet.  The hot water pressure was even better than before. I highly recommend Capital City! They will be our go-to for all future plumbing issues

This was the first time we used Capital City Plumbing and Drain.  The experience was 100% positive.  It was easy to schedule and the service was affordable.  The plumber, Mike Rider-Clark, showed up on time, and was both competent and kind.  Mike went above and beyond to show us the details of the faucet repair and explain what he was doing.  We will use Capital City Plumbing and Drain again!

I had a mysterious water leak in my rental property (like 25,000 gallons a month), and Capital City came to try to find it, and they couldn't find it. This was largely because my renter had the flu (which could have been covid) so the plumber was in a bit of a hurry to check the inside, and spent most of his time looking for trouble outside. My renter told the plumber he was SURE that it was not the toilets, so the plumber only briefly looked at the bowl in each toilet and moved on.  (Also worth noting is that my renter does a lot of cryptocurrency mining, and those machines are LOUD, so it's not a surprise that the plumber did not HEAR any water running.)

Capital City recommended a specialty plumber that uses sonar equipment.  They came out and instantly found that the guest toilet (in a bathroom my renter never uses) was actually at fault, and then, since they are fancy specialists, they charged me THREE TIMES AS MUCH as Capital City had. The plumber at Capital City was VERY embarrassed about this, and told me to forward the report and invoice from the specialists to him. Capital City has promised to send me a check to refund me 100% for BOTH his initial visit and for the payment I made to the specialty plumber.

They didn't have to do a full refund.  Clearly it would make sense that I should pay SOMETHING to have professionals find the leak, but this is an honest and honorable company and they said it's only right that I should be fully compensated, as penance for their mistake.  I think that is absolutely EPIC.

I now have a go-to plumber FOR LIFE, both for my rental property and for my own house.

Just know you will pay $200/hour for them to source materials. In my case I paid $400 for two guys to sit in traffic to go get one part that took 30 mins to install. A bit ridiculous and a bit frustrating this was not communicated before. I even asked one of the guy prior to them leaving to get the part if I was going to have to pay for them by the hour to get this part and he said no, I hope not. That would be ridiculous.  I understand time was spent to source the material but this was a bit outrageous. $680 to change a cartridge!

Response: of course you would respond that way but I spoke to Gabriel and he did straight up say we are charged for the techs to source materials. He agreed to reduce the rate by one guy vs two guys sourcing the materials which is why $100 was taken off from the initial $680. If you want to get technical 2 hours to source. 1 hour for the actual job (30 mins for blowing 30 mins for installation of new cartilage).  And of course the invoice doesn't say I was charged for 2 hours of travel time but rather 3 hours on site doing work was is inaccurate! And the estimate that was provided was for something that wasn't even done so completely inaccurate. And I was also quoted the day before verbally from your tech a different price. Doesn't seem like I'm the only customer that thinks it's unfair you guys charge your regular hourly rate to source materials or be on hold for a phone call. Respond how you want but this is all accurate information and your future customers should know you will charge $200/ hour for 2 guys to sit in their car.
And it wasn't 4 hours. I guess you're adding another hour for the time I was talking to Gabriel about why I was being charged $200/hour for them to sit in their car during peak travel time. Thank you for not charging me for that haha ridiculous.

After getting a few quotes I got the best price for the replacement of my water heater from cap city plumbing. Very prompt and were there on time to do the job and the whole experience was awesome!

This is a local family owned business not a big corporation. They provide great service for less than you'll pay for so many others. They're knowledgeable, punctual, and thorough. They aren't just a great company to hire - they're a great company to work for. They treat their employees like family. Call them! You won't be sorry.

I had some challenges with CCP&D in the very beginning and almost walked away from having this company install my tankless water heater; I am so very glad I didn't. This was after the 2021 big freeze, and the company was over-inundated.
The assessment, planning, and estimate took over an hour...very thorough. Work was schedule one month out (again, inundated). Unfortunately, the planning details weren't fully relayed to the team that came out to do the work, so they were challenged, and it took them longer than it should have.

This was the only company that agreed to install a Takagi tankless (I bet they don't do that again), which has cut my gas bill by 75% (really!)
They explained along the way what was being done, left everything as found, and provided a nice neat stack of components explaining what each was...explaining like I'm an adult not a child
They honored their original estimate even though the Takagi gave them some unexpected headaches...
When they had to come out for a short follow-up, I wanted to pay because I knew the estimate/payment did not cover all of the work they had done. They would not let me give them more money! Who does that?? Overly honest people, that's who
Both the initial and install visits were a pleasure; these guys were great to have in my home. I made them let me buy pizza bc they were that much of a pleasure. They said no. I ordered it anyway.
Quality quality QUALITY. And great service overall for the new tankless and its exhaust, running a new gas line, and clearing my water lines from the freeze.
Just look at the pic of the new tankless; that is a clean, beautiful installation. C'mon now!

And I intend to have them in my home time and again for any plumbing needs. CCP&D is THE honest, skilled, friendly family plumbing company of yore.

Capital City was very responsive and accommodating to my situation. I needed a PRV and shutoff valve installed and they were able to get a team out within 48 hours to do the work. I had reached out to several companies and they were competitive. Some others quoted absurd amounts for what is a very simple job - seemingly trying to take advantage of the crazy market we are in at the moment.

On top of that, there was an issue with the estimate and they were able to sort it out with no fuss. Very customer focused approach and they will be getting first shot at my business for larger projects down the road.

I hired them to install a water softener and they were very professional and quick. I called around and everyone was way more expensive. They were fair and honest. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend to my family and friends. Thank you guys

I first used Capital City Plumbing in 2019 to replace a toilet (they were recommended by a trusted home inspector who had them on their preferred vendors list), and they've returned a couple of times since to fix various leaks in our bathrooms and kitchen. They are always professional, polite, honest, efficient and know their business, and charge a very fair price. I also appreciate that they arrive on time, or even early. I wouldn't use any other plumbing service, and recommend them without hesitation.

Asa and Ryan diagnosed our tankless water heaters after the snowpocalypse in February.  They were the 3rd plumber we called in two months after enduring cold water in our kitchen, laundry room and guest bath.  They ordered and installed a new recirculating tank which took special tools and a lot of crawling around our attack and troubleshooting.  Ryan went the extra mile and found a breaker to our pump had been shut off!  Now we have an abundance of hot water and feel confident we have some diligent professionals we can rely on to finish the job.

I first used Capital City for tankless water heater maintenance about 18 months ago.  Gabriel was excellent.  He noticed that my tankless was actually incorrectly installed, and rather than ignore it and do his job, he showed me exactly what was wrong with the installation, so I was able to get the homebuilder to correct it.  He was very responsive, clear, and professional.

Recently, I had Capital City come out again for tankless water heater maintenance, since about 18 months had passed and I was due.  This time my technician was Asa.  He was good about answering all my questions and explaining what he was doing.  He was on time, polite, and professional.

So I've had two great experiences with Capital City.  I'd definitely recommend them.

Needed a toilet installed, but the job turned into much more due to some unforeseen issues. Lucking, Nathan from Capital City Plumbing & Drain, took care of all the issues and did a great job. He explained and showed me what the issues were and let me know the cost before proceeding. I never felt caught off guard.

Hey, y'all! Let me quickly set the scene:

We're currently waist-deep into a complete bathroom renovation (so not fun), and the hubby and I got a gorgeous and big, new, two-person tub for the reno! It's been ongoing dust for weeks, and yesterday was FINALLY the day that our contracting team was officially going to finish installing and decking in said tub. Hallelujah!

Alas, at about 7:30pm, they discovered that their plumbing work had a leak that they couldn't fix.
*insert some choice words here*

I quickly took to Yelp in despair and searched for 24/7 Plumbers. Enter Capital City Plumbing.

I got an immediate response from Gabe, the owner, that he could be over in 30 minutes! At freakin' 8pm on a Wednesday, y'all! Talk about awesome sauce!

He and Nick came hurrying over like a pair of plumbing superheroes, immediately assessed the situation, and got straight to work! By 10pm, they had it fixed (thank Baby Jesus that they carry just about every possible plumbing part conceivable in their van), and they even left the bathtub full and waited for 30 more minutes outside in their van, just to be 100% sure that their work was perfect and that the leak was solved!

Well, their work WAS perfect, and the leak WAS, indeed, solved!

I cannot recommend Capital City Plumbing enough! It may seem strange for me to get so worked up about a plumbing company, but, when you need one, you REALLY need one, and they really did knock it out of the park! It's too awesome to now have an official, excellent go-to plumber!

Oh, and please don't let the small number of Yelp reviews chase you away, either! I almost did that, Yelp snob that I am, but I'm so glad that I didn't! It turns out that they're new on Yelp, but they've been in business for 15 plus years! Their experience and professionalism is obvious!

Having hired a few different plumbers we won't use anyone else. Highly recommend capital city without reservations. We called originally to rough in a shower remodel and then helped us with several other projects including water softener. They are great at communicating cost with clear explanation of what they are doing including timeframe. When you schedule a day and time they actually show up. Jason, our plumber, was very professional and explained things very well. I love that the owner and master plumber is very close to his business and stopped by when they installed the water softener.

Patrick and Mike came out to my home in a timely manner and they were efficient and polite with a price list and estimate available.  Great company and I would recommend them to anyone with Plummer issues. Honest and professional

We called Capital City Plumbing about a leaking kitchen faucet. The two guys who came spent under 5 minutes looking at my sink and said I just needed to replace the faucet. For that they charged me $89. I asked how much it would be to have them come back and put a new faucet in--they said very clearly that the $89 I spent that day would go towards the faucet installation, so the total would be $105 (it usually costs $184).

When I called Capital City Plumbing to make an appointment the next day, first of all it took three or four calls to even get anyone on the phone. When I spoke with someone she said no, it would be just $184 for the faucet, they wouldn't credit me the $89 I'd already spent. I told her the guy had definitely not said that, and she sold him down the river, saying he was a new employee who didn't know what he was talking about. I asked if she would honor it since he did say that and she said she would have to check and just never called me back. That was after just rudely telling me she would take me off the schedule if I didn't want to pay them almost $300 just to install a faucet. Well Capital City you have just lost yourself a customer. I had hired them once before for a medium-sized job and now I will never call them again. I understand plumbers are busy now but you could still operate with integrity and act like you care about your customers. Terrible customer service and shady business practices!!

Update to respond to office manager: thanks for your response, but you are misinformed, Jenny did not call me back to say you would honor what the technician said. I waited several days and then hired someone else. No one called me back until after I posted this review, at which point the owner left me a voicemail message. Well it was too late by then, so I didn't feel the need to call back. I understand mistakes happen, but I'll look elsewhere next time I need a plumber.

Positive experience with replacing a faulty shower cartridge, definitely recommend. Highly communicative, arrived as quoted, took care of the issue expediently.

My water main broke and my water had to be shut off, which was a drag. Nathan and his crew went above and beyond the call to get my water main replaced.   There was a scheduling issue with their regular digging crew.  So, they rented the equipment and did the digging themselves.  I could not be more pleased with how quickly they got the job done and my water back on!

They gave me the best price both times. So now I don't get other bids. I will always call them first for any future plumbing problems.

We just had Antonio and Ty out to our home to replace a water heater. They were timely, professional and patient with our questions. I'm picky. I've lived in Austin for forty years and Gabriel is the best plumber ever to work in our home. His support team is courteous, pleasant and professional. Gabriel is the real thing; a plumber's plumber. He is very efficient and his prices are very competitive. Look no further.

We hired Capital City to replace our 20 year old conventional water heater with a tankless.  We hired them since they were able to provide a photo-based estimate, and also had a competitive price.  On the installation day, they were on time, and got the job done as advertised.  The techs were also great to deal with.  Sadly, just a few days later, the winter storm froze and broke the brand new water heater (lesson learned - also drip hot water!).  Even though thousands of people needed plumbers, we were able to get Gabriel out to assess our problem within a few days, and he also called to update us on the status of getting a new unit (which was challenging, since so many tankless heaters broke).  We got our new unit installed this morning by two great techs, and now we've got hot water.  No more cold showers!!

Super nice guy who went above and beyond. I thought it was a simple problem, but it turned out to be significantly more. I was quoted a very fair, and despite the fact that it was at least twice the work, he only charged me a little more than the quote. Will definitely use them again.

Our air conditioning drain pan was filling up every 2 days. This would shut off the air conditioning and leak through the ceiling into our dining room. Multiple visits by another company failed to fix this. A visit from City Wide Plumbing fixed the problem. 3 days later our drain pan is dry and ac works great.

These guys made it a no brainer. They were lower in cost than any of the other 11 bids I received for the pressure reducing valve and right in line with the others for my sewer line clean out repair. I figured they'd probably have a poor rating or be brand new, but to my surprise they've been in business for almost a decade and had the best reviews out of the 12 companies I looked at.

They were quick to communicate via text responses. They were able to give me a bid that on the high end would be $200 more at most via phone by sending them pictures. When I was invoiced it was only $25 more than their lowest price. They were fast with the repair. Nathan and Nick were here around 8:15 in the morning and gone before 10:30.

I hired Capital City Plumbing after checking out their wonderful Yelp reviews. They did not disappoint. They came out within an hour last night to change out a toilet valve and two sink valves, after my decision to do it myself ended up in an leak because the valves were too old and rigid and split. Nick was efficient and so polite. They also came back today to install a new toilet. They have online notifications letting you know your plumber is on the way and when he will arrive.

We've had a deteriorating water line situation for weeks, finally pressure became so low that we had to call someone.  Looked at neighborhood recommendations, picked Capital City more or less out of a lineup.

1. Called on a Sunday afternoon, a real person picked up the phone.
2. A visit was scheduled for the next day.
3. Received live messages from CCPD and Gabriel the next day, reliably updating on ETA.
4. Gabriel did a quick fix to a toilet, and estimated the main job.  Nick came as scheduled 2 days later and replaced 2 main valves off the city line.  The price was reasonable for a job that seemed time consuming.

Exactly the good experience and professional expertise one might wish for.  We'll definitely go back to CCPD when we need to!

These folks are probably the best plumbers we've ever worked with. They are professional, courteous and have demonstrated they are willing to go above and beyond to get the job done right.

Throughout our bathroom remodel, they provided recommendations on valve placement as well as expert installation of everything related to our new shower system. Upon discovering some shoddy builder shortcuts that had been taken with our water lines, they took the extra time to properly re-route the lines as they should have been in the first place.

When we encountered a leaky valve, they came out to the house several times to diagnose and ultimately replace several parts until everything functioned to their satisfaction.

I am doing a bathroom renovation. Nathan came out to my house to install a bathtub. I had already installed the valve and plumbing myself. After installing the tub, Nathan let me know that the way the valve was currently installed would have resulted in a substantial leak behind my walls. He fixed the valve and piping so now it wont leak. I am so grateful that Nathan was able to identify that issue even though it was outside of the scope of work which I hired him to do. Not only was Capital City Plumbing & Drain professional, thorough, and prompt, they were also very cost competitive. I will absolutely be using them later this year when I renovate my other bathroom. 10/10 highly recommend this team!

This rave review is belated, but I just want to sincerely thank Capital City Plumbing and Drain, and especially Ryan, for doing such great work. We were concerned that we had a pipe collapse and that we would need to completely replace our old cast iron plumbing. That day will come, but for now the problem ended up just being a blockage. Ryan devoted serious time and effort to carefully investigating the problem, and then clearing the blockage. We are so thankful for his patience and focus and expertise! I had what I thought was a small problem turn into the need to re-pipe my entire (ancient) home, and was incredibly intimidated by the amount of work that needed to be done. Shawn was informative, patient, and answered all of my questions before, during and after the work. We have had extensive plumbing repair work with Capital City Plumbing. Huge project (complete new waste water lines 129' of tunneling), very stressful, expensive, and not completely smooth because nothing ever is in repairing and rebuilding. The project began days before the last ice storm, his team quickly became very busy with all the plumbing needs in the area. They still prioritized our job. There were definitely problems on site and things we weren't pleased with. Whenever there was an issue Gabe personally came out and took care of our concerns and made things right. The plumbers working the job were fantastic and very thorough. Additionally we have used them for 2 smaller projects since and again we are very pleased.

Gabe (Gabrial) of Capital City Plumbing & Drain is a testament to an excellent business owner. Within this industry, it's extremely difficult to find ethical individuals and people who own up to any problems faced, but Gabe went above and beyond to make things right for me.

I had a member of his team come out to my house for an emergency visit to try and tackle an issue where a double vanity sink were backing up on the 2nd floor of our house. This happened in the middle of the summer, so turning off the A/C to eliminate the water coming through the drain pipe wasn't a possibility, especially with little children in the house. To make matters worse, the owners of the house were out of the country so I had try to handle things while they were away.

Long story short, the plumber from Capital City was not able to get his snake down into the main pipe due to the builder's design of the double vanity sinks. I was left with a quote for the permanent fix and a drawing of what was required (cut drywall in a bedroom that is attached to the bathroom, probe to find main pipe, and create a permanent access point for the future). With the drywall work being performed by a separate contractor, it was estimated to cost over $1,000 to do.

When the owners finally came back into the town, I told them about the situation and they pointed out a separate access point in the bottom left corner of one of the sinks that the builder put in place for this very reason (to access the main pipe). We were able to run a small handheld snake down the main pipe and in less than an hour, we were able to diagnose + fix the problem + put everything back together.

The night that this occurred, I was charged a large amount due to this being an emergency problem that I called about during after hours. After speaking to Gabe and showing him pictures, he said that he was going to need to get in touch with his employee that did the job. The employee was out of town on PTO for a while and rather than have me wait, Gabe graciously apologized for the oversight and offered me a full refund. Gabe what other owners of small businesses need to strive to be like. I will continue to use Capital City Plumbing & Drain if I need plumbing work done in the future and will happily refer friends over to them. Thank you!

During a recent move we unhooked the washing machine only to find the water turn off was stripped. Nick came  out that day and worked his magic. A few days laterwe had Nathan out to the new place to properly hook up a gas dryer. Both technicians were good guys and very professional. I thought both calls were reasonably priced. Our amazing realtor recommended Capital City Plumbing to us and he assured us that these guys are the best! I have to agree because the whole experience was everything you could want it to be. Nick called ahead and came exactly on time, he was friendly and listened carefully to all our concerns, and he wasted no time to complete everything that needed attention. He initially came to remove two spray hoses and secure valves in two different bathrooms, but he also removed and discarded four old seats, checked to make sure a gas line was capped outside, and that there was an air gap loop properly placed for our dishwasher to drain. He wasn't bothered by any request and seemed to not be phased in the least by my toddlers thundering around while he was working.

What really impressed me was that he offered advice about a random issue with our front door that I never would have noticed on my own. He explained what was causing the door to catch and how it would progress and said it was an easy fix by a handyman. Nick also provided advice and assurance about a garbage disposal I was working on at our former home, which really put me at ease knowing I wasn't just tinkering around under there blindly. That was in itself very kind and really appreciated. It gives me such a peace of mind knowing that I can look to them for great service!

Nick came out on a Saturday and saved the day. Fixed the backed up toilet and shower and did it all for a very reasonable price. Super responsive to Yelp ask for a quote requests and did a very thorough job once he was here. Here it is Saturday afternoon, and everything's back up and running, like all the ickiness of the morning never happened. Yay!

I discovered a leak beneath our kitchen sink while changing our water filters over the weekend. I made a valiant attempt to address the problem, but after some blood and sweat, if not tears, I elected to let a professional handle it.

Gabriel was willing to come out on a Sunday, which, although more costly, was much more convenient for us--and still quite reasonable. He solved the problem in a timely manner and was friendly and helpful. He also attached a separate valve so that the washing machine could be shut independently of the faucet.

We discovered around 9 pm tonight (Sunday) that our living room carpet was soaked. Upon investigating, we found it to be our hot water heater. My husband is pretty handy, but was unable to find the problem.  I Googled emergency plumbers. The first four we called, including 2 that have catchy radio ads were unavailable until Tuesday, all while our water heater continued to leak! We called Capital and Nick was here within 30 minutes. They were able to schedule an appointment within a couple days. Their scheduling system is awesome-received a text and was able to track their progress to my house. Shawn arrived,quoted a reasonable price and fixed my toilet! He gave me some good tips on how to prevent the issue in the future. Will definitely call them the next time I have a plumbing issue.

A few weeks ago I needed a plumber to replace my Homeowner Shut Off Valve had the best experience I've ever had with any plumber--and maybe even any contractor. I submitted a quote request to unclog my main drain after my laundry backed up into my garage. Michael responded quickly with a quote and available times to come that day. Once I set the appointment they sent me a text confirming my time 12-3pm. Michael called me at 11:45am to tell me he was 15min out. He was friendly, explained everything to me and took his time to make sure the drain was unclogged. He then ran water through it with me watching to show it wasn't backed up. I tried my hand at installing a water filter I had bought off of amazon and failed miserably. My water valve was extremely loose and water was spraying everywhere. Shawn is awesome!  It took 4 plumbers to find the actual problem-which was Shawn!  I live in a rental and have the worst management company in Texas (RPM-Reliable Property Management). We've had plumbing problems since we moved in last December. They kept sending plumbers out that would just patch it, but Shawn was determined & actually found ALL the problems there really were. These guys were amazing. I had an urgent situation with my kitchen sink that I knew was probably simple, but I didn't have the time or the know-how to fix. While not a truly emergency situation, it was an emergency to me, and they came out after hours, were extremely professional, and it was shockingly reasonably priced. They even stayed a few extra minutes to diagnose another issue that wasn't part of the original call for no extra charge.

We were so pleased with Capital city plumbing. Nick was right on time for our appointment and fixed both of outdoor faucets. Their prices are incredibly reasonable for such stellar service and we will be using the again in the future for sure

Gabriel did a great job on our project. We had some minor tweaks in one of our toilets, and ended up having to get a toilet replaced. Very communicative, professional, nice, and efficient. Highly recommend and will use again!

Gabe & Nick did an outstanding job. They were careful with all the new floors in the house and bathrooms and made sure nothing happened. All the work performed was done perfectly. No other way to say it. When finished with 6 faucet installations, a pedestal sink installation, and a toilet installation they gave us a thorough walk through to show there were no leaks or issues with their work. We will be calling them back for future work. All of this was completed with a price that that was more than fair. Thank you for treating our house like it was yours.

Nick came out and did a very good job.  I had them replace an outside facet that has been in use for fifteen years.   Price was fair and  service was good.

We're doing a lot of fixing up before selling our house. These guys are great. They show up, happy to help and answer questions. They've repaired the household hot water pump (gives us hot water anywhere in the house in about 2 seconds), changed multiple fixtures, fixed a nasty slow drain that has bothered us for years. We will be using them on the next house.

Gabriel has provided excellent, prompt, fair priced service for me twice now.  Several years ago-I had a water main leak and he repaired that.  Now, he was able to come out when fence repairs broke my underground feed from my Water Softener.  He performed the repairs in less than a day-which allowed the other contractor to finish their work.
