Best General Contractors in Arizona

We called George at Contessa Stone to come give us a quote for a new fireplace mantle and overmantle. He came and looked at the fireplace we had and worked with us on a design that both my wife and I loved. He gave us a timeframe for the stone delivery and the installation and Mario who did the installation of the Stone was really great. He truly cared about the work and took his time to make sure it was done right. The whole process was really smooth and any small issues were resolved very quickly. I would definitely recommend George, Mario and Contessa Stone to anyone.

I've known Tim Mullooly for over 10 years. He built the patio I designed in the picture above for a good friend of mine. In 2009, Mullooly Construction remodeled our house inside while we lived here. He phased the work. Performed very well, and coordinated his subcontractors well. I recommended Tim to several other friends and he did a great job for them too. I even recommended him for a remodel of a rental house our church owns. A couple years ago I hired him to oversee the replacement of our old windows. Tim is honest, completely trustworthy and does quality work. My background was in commercial construction so I know quality when I see it.

How often do people have nice things to say about their contractor?  Luke at Vista General is amazing.  

This is the second time I've used his company in a major remodel and I'm just as happy as ever.  What's more, I've referred other people to hire Luke and they too sign his praises and, I'm told, are hiring him for more work.

Lollis construction gave me a estimate on a bath remodel . They were in the middle on price .  I liked the way they looked so I went with them. I couldn't have been more pleased with them they were courteous on time and on budget . Their work was excellent. I have never had a a better experience with a contractor. I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone.

I needed a quick repair to a home I was listing, the garage ceiling sheet rock had fallen off.  Joel Stark was suggested, my seller called him and he was out that day.  They had the repairs, garage and a settlement crack, completed quickly, and absolutely perfectly!  You could never tell they were there, even the ceiling paint matched perfectly.
In my opinion, you can tell a true craftsman by the small jobs, where every detail counts.

I had spoken with 4 different companies to inspect and repair my house fire sprinkler system in Scottsdale.  I'm selling my house through corporate relocation and the relocation inspector had limited understanding of fire sprinklers.  Larry provided honest and practical advice that avoided unnecessary repairs.  I didn't receive the similar level of consult and advice from other companies.  Very much appreciate his honesty and top notch expertise/service.  Highly recommend and big thank you again!

We had a crack in our interior bedroom door which required the door to be replaced. After trying to replace ourselves, we called a professional to help. Stan was kind, professional, and managed expectations very well. Would definitely use his service again.

We had a grab bar installed and a wall repaired and repainted.  They did an excellent job and we would definitely use them again.

Rick and his team were amazing. They were highly skilled in any job that was given to them. The attention to detail was above any other contractor I have used. They listened to what I wanted and produced exactly as I detailed.  The final  example of their commitment to customer satisfaction was how clean they left the job each and every day. I've been meaning to write this for a while. Chuck (William Ahl) is as good as they come. We had moved into our home last year and it had a large load bearing wall that we needed removed that was adjoining a sunken in living room. Chuck was the first contractor that was able to tell us right away what the scope of the project was going to be and how he would get it done. From the onset, he was always very professional. He kept good records, always showed up on time, and was very pleasant to be around (we had to live in our home during the construction). It was a big job but him and his right hand man Evan did a fantastic job and it turned out beautifully. A few more things I appreciated where Chuck took the extra step: 1. He always cleaned up after every day as much as he could. We were still living in our home and we appreciated that everything was kept as neat as possible especially since we have little kids. 2. He does not ever compromise safety. He will always do the job right the first time even if it means more work. We have peaked ceilings and he took the time to put up temporary supports while putting up the new beam. 3. He prides himself on his work. He won't cut corners. He has a high standard for himself and will make sure whatever project he's doing will be done right every time. In addition to our load bearing wall Chuck also made us a beautiful custom chimney cap, filled an old doggie door, and took out some really big columns. Our new great room is now complete and absolutely beautiful! I definitely hope to use Chuck again for future projects and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to start a small or large project. He is licensed and insured so he can do anything!

Total remodel of two story home (which included removing and laying new tile and hardwood stairs on both floors, added additional lighting throughout house, removed and added new doors throughout house, removed old wall paper and repainted every room (including ceilings), extended patio deck and handled all permitting through the city, installed new ceiling fans, prewired electrical for new TV's and bar area.

Most important, this was a very honest and trustworthy family to work with, which was our primary criteria for selecting them in the beginning, they were outstanding!

Tony his team literally saved me from a nightmare.  I hired someone who was getting their company up and going to make my brick wall higher in my backyard.  It was originally only 5ft tall and everyone could see in my backyard. This new company completely botched the wall and was not unstained it correctly.  I had to fire them on the spot but they've already created such a mess.  I contacted Tony to come check out the horrible job to see if he could provide me a estimate. He came out the next day and let me know what all needed to be done to correct the issue and finish the job.  The estimate was a fairly priced for the work ahead.  I agreed and he came back the next day with his team.  They had my wall done within hours which included reinforcing and correcting the problem from the first company.  He was super professional,  cleaned up their mess ALONG with the previous company mess  and the communication was great. These guys are the real deal. The Holmes on Homes of Arizona! They helped me create a suite out of two bedrooms. They punched through a block wall on the side of my house and installed a new exterior door. They also put in a new opening between the two rooms. I saw my vision for the space come to life. The price was quite reasonable and the quality of work was outstanding. They have an eye for details! Additionally, they are pleasant and professional. Truly a find.

Our dishwasher failed while we were away and the significant water damage (about which we initially were unaware) not only slowly created mold inside our walls; it ruined most of our kitchen cabinetry. Since our house was built in 1984 the kitchen had been updated but never fully remodeled (including the original fluorescent lighting and drop-ceiling!).  We had no intention to undergo such significant a project but the timing would never be better.

Our insurer provided a list of its approved contractors but because the economy is so strong here in AZ, few responded and even fewer provided a bid (of the 18 GC's contacted). During the mold remediation process (a terrible experience we wish upon no one!), we were referred to Copper State Remodeling, a fully licensed and bonded General Contractor.  Are we ever grateful!

Mike Byrnes, its owner, came to our home the same day we contacted him and expediently provided a comprehensive bid:  Seal the rest of the house off (we lived in it throughout...), repair walls post-mold remediation, demo/remove all cabinets, drop ceiling and equally dated lighting, etc. His crew then installed new drywall/texture, redesigned our HVAC (making it more efficient), fully upgraded LED lighting, painted, and even completed minor structural improvements.

Mike as project manager, most capably coordinated and oversaw each subcontractor, the cabinetry company, appliance delivery/install, and the granite fabrication/install. Each and every individual who came into our home was the utmost in professionalism, competence, consideration, and also friendliness--including being most dog-friendly!

Copper State Remodeling was competitive in its bid.  Most of all though, we appreciate the significant added value Mike and his team brought to our home.  We're extremely satisfied and fully enjoying our new kitchen and family room--including its previously 'hidden' vaulted ceilings.

Just finished the garage project in Willow Valley, AZ. 40X50 with three large doors. I am a weekender and retired. The project was finished from inception to completion without me lifting a finger. With all projects of this magnitude there are always SNAFUs. The strength of a company is how they handle the problems. Southwest's team handled my very small punch list very quickly and with exceptional professionalism. My close neighbor built a 50X60 garage, sub-contracting himself; his turned out very nice, but he and his wife were constantly discovering they had to have other professionals come in to complete their project. Much less stress the Southwest way.

I only let the best and talented people to work in my home. I needed new custom cabinets added to my new home. I contacted keith to do the job. If you want a perfect job then there is only one person to call. He will be my go to guy as long as I live. He is a gentleman snd a fantastic human being. He cares 100% about all his customers. You will never find a better contractor in the state of AZ. His work came out gorgeous and as soon as I can I've been sick, I'll post all the beautiful pictures of his work. KEITH WILL NEVER overcharge his customer. Hi prices are very fair. If you don't want any headaches or worry's and great work Keith is my go to man. If you are smart make him yours also. The best of the best. Orders cabinets straight from the manufacturer and measurements were perfect. If you want everything done the right way? Keith only knows one way! THE RIGHT WAY! Don't call anyone else unless you are not using your brain and you have money to through in the garbage. Best quality work, best prices, and best human being on the face of this earth. I cannot begin to explain how disappointed I am in David Zarate and D Masonry Construction. He poured my foundation slab on my house addition and messed it up being off by about 6 inches on one side which would have caused a HUGE problem if the General Contractor that used him didn't make it right. David then promised me he knew how to pour a tennis court and that he had poured several for customers before. So I trusted him which was a BIG MISTAKE. Look at the photos I uploaded.  Don't take my word for it just look at the photos.
1) The court was not level and appropriately sloped as when General Acrylics came to flood test it before they striped it, there were puddles all over the court of water just sitting there.
2) The court surface finish was not done correctly.  It was suppose to be done in a light broom finish which he said he knew how to do that no problem.  He did not and the court was anywhere from rough to smooth all over different parts of the court.
3) He didn't suspend the wire mesh in the court right in the middle of the 4 slab like he is suppose to, to ensure no wire mesh is exposed on top of the tennis court.
4) Crooked tennis posts.  He never bothered to ensure the tennis posts sleeves were set straight.  Look at the photos.  Unreal.
-Then when I asked him to please make his mistakes right, and pay for me to get a true tennis court company to correct these items, he told me he wouldn't and claimed he didn't do anything wrong!!!!  Look at the photos!  
If I could give a 0 review, I would... unbelievable to have someone take advantage of me like that.

Very dishonest and difficult to work with. Save yourself the headache and find someone reliable.
