Proctor Custom Builders General Contractor
We added a new room to our house, and also a couple of cinder block walls to separate the front yard from the back.  Proctor Custom Builders did both projects, and we couldn't be happier.  Everything was done exactly as we wanted and in the time frame promised, the crews were professional and thorough, communication was excellent, and cleanup was thorough.  We highly recommend them.

I got lucky finding this guy!!!!

I needed walls and floors replaced from an old roof leak.  He was also skilled to handle a hidden water leak in the laundry room.

Come to find out, George is more than just a handy man.  He's a professional contractor with lots of experience building houses.

Extremely impressive with how quick George responded to my request.  George is assertive, responsive, friendly, and knows what he is doing.  He is accommodating and helpful.   He also helped me move some items in my house.  Just an overall great and trustworthy guy.

C & H Roofing General Contractor
Best roofer we've ever found here in Phoenix.  When others could not (or would not spend the time to) find a leak in our roof, Nick was diligent and located the leak and fixed it right away.  He's been out to repair our roof several times after big storms and every time came out right away, found the leak and fixed it at a reasonable cost.  We highly recommend Nick and C&H Roofing!  -Peggy and Steve Kvam, N. AMA Construction General Contractor
We recently purchased a foreclosure property where the water heater had burst, causing damage to the stand and drywall surrounding the water heater.  The bank replaced the water heater, but refused to repair the damaged drywall and it quickly became laden with mold.

On a referral from our Realtor, we hired Wayne Glashagel (Owner of AMA Contstruction) to repair the water heater stand and surrounding drywall.  Wayne drained the water heater, disconnect the copper pipes, remove the water heater, tore out the water heater stand, sprayed Killz on the moldy areas and rebuilt the stand from the ground up.  Afterward, Wayne reconnected the water heater to the plumbing.

Wayne was very courteous and professional, arrived early for the appointment and did a fantastic job on the repair of the water heater stand.  It looked brand new and the drywall texture matched the existing texture perfectly.

I would highly recommend Wayne for any general contract work.

These guys repaired two chips in a new tub.  They did a great job.  I cannot tell where the chips were in the tub.  You should consider them for your project.

Fortress General Contracting, Inc General Contractor
Unfortunately this company is not reputable. They do ok work, however they could not match our existing ceiling in an addition.  We had traditional tongue and groove pine ceiling that is still used in building all the time.  They installed the new ceiling intermixed with our old ceiling and proceeded to stain the new boards with an airless sprayer after they were in our house. Not only did this leave a layer of stain everywhere that I had to scrub off and can't remove from all surfaces, it did not match the beautiful pre existing ceiling.  When we complained we were told that was the best they could do. It was so far off from our original ceiling that it was unacceptable. They offered to install the new ceiling in place of the old material but expected us to pay for all of the material and labor involved.  After going back and forth and the company owner trying to make us sound like we were the bad homeowners trying to stiff him he agreed that he would replace the old ceiling and we could just pay what we thought was fair. We honestly didn't think we should pay anything to replace the ceiling that we absolutely loved, but we did agree to pay for the materials.  When it was all said and done he charged us the full amount. We were left with a ceiling that looked nothing like our original, beautiful ceiling and a hefty bill that would remain as a lien on our home if we did not pay.  The fact that they were unable to match the ceiling should have been brought to our attention before the additional new ceiling was installed. It is just better for you to go elsewhere if you want a morally sound company that stands behind their work.

About 6 months ago we had our 30 year old bathroom remodled by this company. I was so impressed I have told several of my friends about them. First off, I am not a designer of any kind and not at all current on the newest trends in decorating.  The owner of the company told me to go to a few differnt wholesale places to look at tile, sinks, faucets, mirrors, medicine cabinets etc.He met me at one of the places to get the sinks, tiles and faucets.  I am on the frugel side and he understood.  I was attempting to do a tile design for the bathtub area, I had selected mostly things form the clearance area. Long story short, he helped me pick the tiles, some of the clearance tiles I picked didn't have enough tiles. So he showed me some others that were not that much more and it turned out better than I expected.    I am a person that uses coupons and always tries to stretch my dollars as far as I can.  I had picked out a standard sink and faucet-of course I went for the lowest price.  He was pretty straight forward when he said, That style is way out of date and it doesn't really go with the style you said you want.   He showed me some on top if the counter sinks, that were actually a good bit more money and the faucet I picked didn't work with the counter top sink. As I was looking at the displays, I knew he was right.  I had been looking at Home Depot and Lowe's for a few years to get an idea what I wanted.  I didn't see the cabinets or medicine cabinet anywhere else.  He ordered the stuff from Lowe's for me.  So now we had all the stuff to start the work. Each day they arrived on time, I work from home, so I got to see how the whole thing went.  THe leader guy, Brian was very picky, which I think was a good thing. One day, Brian arrived a bit before 7 am and stayed outside, at 7 he came in and started working alone.  About 10 minutes later another worker came, I could kind of overhear their conversation, Brian was very clear, but not mean, when telling the guy, it's not okay to be late, we made a promise to start at 7 that means get here before 7, start working at 7. The worker said something about his daughter and Brian just said, call me and tell me so I know.  I was very impressed with the level of professional service and the care they took to make my bathroom look so great!  I am so proud of our new bathroom, everyone compliments the sinks and the amazing tile design.  This bathroom would look great in a model home.    They did the job in exactly the time frame they said. The only negative, is one of the workers got some stuff on the carpet in the hallway, they did have the whole area covered in plastic, so I'm not sure how that happened. He tried his best to clean it, we need new carpet anyway and I can't even see it now. I wasn't that mad, because he showed it to me and aplogized and it's old shag.

Alternative Portable Buildings General Contractor
Alternative Portable Buildings.  I was looking to put a medium-sized shed  (8 feet by 12 feet)  in my backyard to store mostly chairs and tables for large family events.  I had researched several shed companies listed on Yelp, and the reviews of the other companies were mixed at best.   I found Alternative Portable Buildings reviewed on another website similar to Yelp, and the company had glowing reviews.  Alternative Portable Buildings has an excellent website where you can discover most everything that you need to know about the building styles and options, and the prices for all of the possible combinations.  I didn't want to make a major purchase like this without seeing one of their sheds in person, so I went down to the business location to see the buildings that they had constructed on the premises so you can get a better idea of the style, quality, and dimensions.  The company was located a fair distance from where I live, but I would recommend taking a trip out there so that you can see what you are buying.  Based on what I saw at the business location and on an in-depth conversation with owner who is extremely knowledgeable with many years of experience, I scheduled the construction of a shed.  The owner and his son arrived on time.  They did an AMAZING job of putting together a solid storage shed that will probably outlive me.  Even though they had the entire building constructed in about 7 hours, the quality of construction shines through.  The building is perfectly symmetrical, and all of the corners are super tight.  I had considered going with a smaller shed, and the owner suggested getting a larger size.  Boy, am I happy I got the larger size.  It is absolutely perfect - no too big, not too small.  I am completely satisfied with quality, value, and service of Alternative Portable Buildings.  Before you have a shed built by another company, do yourself a favor and visit Alternative Portable Buildings.  There are cheaper companies out there, but you will probably compromise on quality if you go with a less-expensive option.  I am thrilled to be first customer to review this company on Yelp.

Modern Group General Contractor
This is a general contracting firm. I had not used them before, but I have known Jeff Rassmusson for 15 years and he has done various elements of remodel for me in 4 previous homes in Scottsdale. Jeff now works at Modern Group.

The particular job that he oversaw involved installation of hardwood floors, drywall, removal and installation of master bath cabinets, tile work, repair and painting. He is a hands on overseer. I am impressed with not just the quality but the pricing on what I received. I would certainly recommend Jeff and his firm along with all the trades that they use to execute a plan.

Meritage Homes Corp General Contractor
If this could be a NO STARS it would be!!!

I personally have NOT bought from Meritage, but with the experience that my family member has has I will NEVER purchase from this company no matter what development it may be.

Our family has had issues since day 1 of move in from the solar being hooked up incorrectly causing a $300+ payment for over 6 months, walls falling down due to the incompetence from the washer/dryer installation (causing the water from the washer to drain into the wall instead of where is should be), cracks on the interior walls of the house that are actual gaps that you could hide things in that they continue to claim a landscaper is to blame.  (not sure how that works since the landscaper works on the outside and these are interior walls).

I have to say there have been multiple requests to fix items and they fail to follow through with satisfaction.  I have to say WHAT A WAY TO RUN A COMPANY WITH NO REGARD FOR YOUR CUSTOMER/HOMEOWNER.  Thanks for making someone's dream a NIGHTMARE!

Wendler Construction General Contractor
I hired Wendler Construction to renovate my home, he in turn hired D and J Construction to frame parts of the original house, an 800 sqft addition and garage.  They did a horrible job... they used 2x4's when the plans called for 2x6's, used wrong footings on the front wall of the house, used wrong calculations on the truss fabrication thus not allowing enough room for the hvac duct work, and had to reframe interior walls and a new skylight, which they did wrong resulting in having to purchase a custom skylight.  Wendler Construction's lack of experience, skill, and ability to manage my renovation, caused over 5 months of delays and tens of thousands of dollars in additional costs.  And then halfway thru the project, right after Christmas break, Wendler Construction quit on me.  After almost a year in construction, I am still finding mistakes made under Wendler Construction's management.  I would not recommend them.

Nor'easter Development LLC General Contractor
Our home was damaged by a water heater leak. The owner of Nor'easter determined early on that we were a small job. We learned later that what he meant was that we were low priority. Several weeks later (he admitted that the job took longer then it should have) we have a home repair job that ran well into 5 figures that seems to have been done properly and looks nice.

Communication is definitely not the strong suit of this contractor. And anytime that we the consumer are positioned between a contractor and an insurance company you can rest assured that the process will be confusing. I still don't have the numbers sorted out!
