Best General Contractors in Arizona
Luke and his team were very professional and experienced with our bathroom remodels. I felt the price quoted was competitive and they were able to stay on schedule to the best of their ability. I was happy with our finished product and all aspects of my project were completed to my liking. I highly recommend Dwell House for your remodeling needs.

Hands down the BEST contractor we worked with in our home remodel. They installed quartz counters in our kitchen, three bathrooms and bar area. They also did the backsplash in our kitchen. The process was so seamless. They did exactly what they said they were going to do in the timeframe promised. We were up against some strict deadlines and they totally pulled through. I highly recommend them for your project.

Karla and her team are highly recommended! We wanted to replace a basic interior door going to our garage with a fire-rated solid door. After the team re-framed the door, I noticed an issue and when I asked Karla about it, she made sure her installers fixed it 100% properly. A number of different tradesmen came out to do the framing, drywall, and painting and each was very good at their job . We were really thrilled with the quality in the end and would recommend them based on how they made things right once we asked.

Stellar work. Ruben and his crew has preeettty much given our family's home almost a complete facelift. Total kitchen renovation, floor installation, paint, rebuilt our closet, installed lights, doorbell, floor trim, pergola (I'm sure there's more). We are having him redo our bathroom, fire place and a handful of other projects. Super good dude, solid family man and very busy. Glad to have Ruben on our side as home owners for sure.

This is the worst company I've EVER dealt with in my life!! Honestly, they don't even deserve one star.
My mom is elderly and always wanted a walk-in shower, especially now due to her age and arthritis. She's low income and has lived in the same house for almost 50 years. Her house is not in the best of shape, but after years of saving, she finally had enough to make her bathroom dreams come true. She asked me to help her find a good company so I googled affordable bathroom remodel and found this place. They seemed to have good reviews, so we proceeded with them. BEWARE!! They are anything but affordable considering the sub-standard work they do.
During initial consultation, owner Jessika Cabrera came out and spoke with us. At first, she seemed helpful and knowledgeable. She led us to believe my mom was getting an amazing deal with extra senior discounts, etc. She led us to believe the job would be done faster than most contractors in town. She said in the end, the final product would be beautiful and amazing. This company is very deceiving, and we felt they lied to us. They do not do quality work for the money. They even damaged some of the dry wall in mom's kitchen while demolishing the tile from her bathroom - it broke through to the other side of wall into the kitchen. They attempted to fix it, but it still looks terrible. Their work is sloppy and less than standard. They also take way longer to start and finish a job once it's scheduled. The entire job took months to complete, not weeks like they said. Many times, workers would show up for 10-15 mins then leave without saying a word. They wouldn't return for days or even a week at a time. This happened over and over.
Before work began, they required half the total cost up front. They wouldn't even add us to the schedule until this money was paid. Then before demo started, they required another large sum of money. At first, Jessika was friendly and available by phone or text to answer any-and-all questions. After payments were made, she was no longer available. In fact, we didn't hear from her or anyone from her office for weeks. Calls go straight to voicemail and texts go unanswered. Days or weeks would go by and her assistant Shawn would call to apologize about not getting back to us. Some excuses were: they were out of town, busy with other clients, or sick. We also gave them a dup house key and they lost it! Of course, one person blames the other. We still don't know where the key is at??
When bathroom was finally done, they sent a final bill. We were shocked to find they added an additional $415 over the amount we agreed upon in contract -- they said it was for extra materials. I called Shawn and of course left a message about how displeased we were about the entire process and how upsetting it was to learn about the extra fee. She called back and said it was written in the contract that my mom signed agreeing to any additional costs above the contracted amount THEY deem necessary to perform job. Even though these costs were not explained or approved beforehand.
We weren't going to pay the final payment. However, a week later, my mom received a letter in the mail from their attorney stating they would put a lien on her house in 20 days if it's not paid in full! What!?? My mom is almost 78 years old, and they want to put a lien on her house over $415? What about the damage they caused to her kitchen? OR the key they lost? OR crappy work they did?? In the end, my mom paid the remaining balance because she doesn't want to live in fear of losing her house to this awful company! Not sure if they can do that but she doesn't want to worry it.
Save your money, grief, sanity, and time. Don't use this company! I'm not one to write reviews but I'm hoping this will help someone not make the same mistake we did. Please research Planet Remodel as well. We didn't know they are the same company owned by same person.

I've used BBG for handyman services and have been so impressed! Their handyman (Bill) really goes above and beyond with ensuring the job is done right, and that the area is neat and clean afterward. He was prepared for the job with the parts that he needed, prepped the area, showed me what he was doing, and even took care of some cosmetic stuff, which was a nice touch. He also showed care for my pets which is very important, making sure we didn't have any escapees while he was coming in and out of the house. Great guy and he does great work! Highly recommend!

There were a couple very positive things that came out of this.
Enrique responded rapidly and was able to help me upon short notice. The work he did exceeded my expectations. I am very satisfied with the physical nature of the work he did.
However, his payment structure and lack of payment system is quite bothersome. There was no clarity as to how I should structure payment so I had to be the one to suggest how to proceed with payment. He suggested I pay through Western Union which is something I've yet to be asked.
After completing the job, he then proceeded to pester me for payments even though I was busy completing my own work during the weekend. Without even letting 24 hours pass, he was contacting my friend, who was helping me, trying to follow up for payment. I thought I had made a payment within that time frame, but in my business, the transaction was not confirmed via PayPal.
Within 36 hours of the completion of the job, he sent me a lien notice stating that he would charge an extra $400 on the job. Note that this all took place over the weekend when most people are not conducting financial transactions.
The lack of professionalism and the ambiguity of the contract services need to remedied. I am a specific situation since I am remote and not located physically in Arizona. Those who choose to contract in person will likely not have to deal with such circumstances. However, those not located physically in Arizona need to be aware. My intention had never been to not pay for services and to be treated as such within less than 36 hours is completely unprofessional

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I ordered tile my wife and finally agreed on, we were told by the man working ( MIKE ) that it was in stock and he would call when it was ready to be picked up from the store in a few days - after three weeks of calling off and on it was finally in and ready to be picked up! My wife went to get it and ..... it was the wrong tile???? he ended up telling her the factory sent the wrong stuff - to make a long story short Mike lied to us repeadedly trying to cover his mistakes. We still have not received our tile and have tried to just get our money refunded so we may go purchase new tile, but he said there would be a restocking fee - we didnt change our minds on the tile or try to return it for no good reason - he order the wrong tile and that was 8 weeks ago...... what horrible customer service by an arrogant employee!!

We hired Homework/Tri-Star (same owner/company) to remodel our kitchen. A simple project - basically a matter of installing new cabinets, fixtures & appliances in a simple galley kitchen. They highlight their experience with midcentury homes like ours. There weren't any unwelcome surprises in the walls - no weird plumbing or electrical problems, everything as anticipated. It should have been straightforward.
And yet, every part of working with this company was difficult. Main issues:
DESIGNER: They require a fee up front for a design, rather than doing traditional bids. The designer was a nice person, but not detail-oriented from the beginning - designing a kitchen island, for instance, and not noticing there was no way to get power to it (until we pointed it out). She was friendly but did not seem overly excited about or invested in our project. We should have walked away at this point, even after paying.
She re-did the design, and we went forward with building. On our scheduled completion date, as the appliances were delivered....and she had failed to measure correctly for the refrigerator, a true rookie error (and something that ANY correctly used design software will detect!). The fridge didn't open anywhere close to 90 degrees. Worse yet, NO normal-size fridge would fit between the cabinets. We had to choose between ripping out and re-doing the new cabinets, or putting a smaller, specialty fridge in an awkward spot.
I had even asked her whether she was certain the fridge would fit - I should've carefully measured it myself, but THAT'S WHY I HIRED A DESIGNER. Managing details is the heart of a designer's job, right? Homework agreed to re-do (within reason) the cabinets if needed, but she did not refund any part of her $1,000 fee. It would have been better, and free, to use software at Ikea or Home Depot. Lesson learned.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: right before our start date, they changed our project manager without explanation. The guy was nice but didn't know even the basics - in what order to schedule tasks, when appliances get installed, how cabinetry is hung, which contractor does what, etc. We had problem after problem after problem. Though Homework management downplayed our concerns, and they tried hard to coach and supervise him, he was fired partway through our project. A mess ensued as a new PM tried to take over.
SUBCONTRACTORS:. The countertop guy was great, but most of the others were very unprofessional. One of the subs took 30 minutes of my time to complain about how poorly he was treated and paid by Homework. None of them were adequately supervised by the PM - by the end, we took turns staying home to watch them....if I wanted to babysit subs, I wouldn't be paying a general contractor!
The electrician had to be called back three times to repair shoddy work; by the end I had to ask Homework not to let him back in our home. At one point he covered up a jagged hole in the drywall and an *open* junction box with live wires....by hanging our phone over it. The plumbing under the sink started leaking before the project was even done. The tile guy never got around to sealing any of the grout. I had to point out each of these problems to the PM, days or weeks afterward. He clearly hadn't checked the work.
OVERALL: I will say for Homework that they aren't shady - I wasn't worried they'd skip town with my money. They came back every time I found another problem. They returned my calls. The kitchen is nice, though I now worry that the subs took some hidden shortcut that could cause a disaster later on.
But for $50K I expect more than not shady. The project ended up taking 3x longer than planned. We paid the full contracted price; they offered no compensation for the long string of errors that cost us a lot of lost work time and money. They didn't even have to cover the cost of re-doing cabinets, because we decided to just get the smaller fridge - by then, I couldn't stand the thought of continuing to deal with them.
Their only small concessions, which I had to argue for, were 1) cancelling a change order to install an outlet that was overlooked and 2) buying a $60 trim kit for the range, which PM#1 mistakenly told me was included. That's it.
You will see on Angie's List and Yelp that the vast majority of my reviews are positive. I take it seriously, saying something in a public forum that could affect someone's livelihood. I purposely waited four months after our completion date to post this, so I wouldn't do anything in anger.
A couple of the employees, and some of the subs, were great people who seemed knowledgeable and experienced. But somehow together, they add up to less than the sum of the parts We've done a kitchen remodel before with another company - we experienced 1/10 the hassle, and the same cost, for a much more complicated project. Believe me, Homework earned this negative review.

I'm in the midst of acquiring multiple estimates to remodel our master bathroom. So far, FHR Construction stood out the most. Oron, the owner, was very energetic and came up with a few interesting remodeling suggestions. He explained the construction process thoroughly and a project manager will be assigned to oversee the project. Their graphics designer, Jeremy, then put together suggested bathroom designs into multiple 3D images. That helps a lot in identifying changes needed and envisioning the overall bathroom layout, prior to start of construction.
Also, FHR construction has a huge selection of stone and tile which is more reasonably priced than other nearby showrooms. their attention to detail, quality of products and services exceeded my expectations.

Called Jerry to replace ceramic tiles on ledge in front of window that had been replaced. He directed the job to Darren. Darren found that the job was more extensive than previously thought - he showed me all sub areas that had to be replaced. Darren was courteous and efficient. He left the area perfectly clean. One minor problem surfaced after a few weeks. It was repaired properly at no additional cost. Throughout this job, Jerry has always promptly returned my calls or texts. He stands behind his work. Will use him again.

Just to let you know how incredibly frustrated I was with this rep Lani. I would give this a zero star if I could. Lani called only 20 minutes before the scheduled 2:00 PM appointment saying she will be late and asked to reschedule. So I agreed to see her at 3pm instead. At 3:11pm she called again saying she just finished her morning appointment and can she come now or reschedule. I asked how soon she could be here and she said 17 minutes. So I agreed. Lani showed up at 3:30pm with more bad news. Now she wanted to reschedule because her iPad was at 1% and she couldn't do her presentation. I was beyond frustrated and at that point I opened my front door and told her to leave immediately. What professional would not even have a charger and cable with them?? On top of it she knew she was not going to have enough battery life left when she called me the very 1st time at 1:40pm. I am so appalled and will never deal with your company. How disrespectful.. she completely wasted my Sunday.

BEWARE: I hired David with Mohave Leveling to level an addition on my mobile home and add additional supports underneath. He requested a deposit of 20% for materials which is always a risk but I proceeded and sent the deposit. Once he received the deposit He immediately disappeared, would not respond to countless calls and texts. At the time of this review he has still not responded or made it right, if he does I will edit this review

I hired Wendler Construction to renovate my home, he in turn hired D and J Construction to frame parts of the original house, an 800 sqft addition and garage. They did a horrible job... they used 2x4's when the plans called for 2x6's, used wrong footings on the front wall of the house, used wrong calculations on the truss fabrication thus not allowing enough room for the hvac duct work, and had to reframe interior walls and a new skylight, which they did wrong resulting in having to purchase a custom skylight. Wendler Construction's lack of experience, skill, and ability to manage my renovation, caused over 5 months of delays and tens of thousands of dollars in additional costs. And then halfway thru the project, right after Christmas break, Wendler Construction quit on me. After almost a year in construction, I am still finding mistakes made under Wendler Construction's management. I would not recommend them.
