Yes, James the plumber is great!  Local guy.  He has done my septic clogs for many years.  Very reliable.  I have had him come when nobody is home, do the job, leave a bill, I mail him a check. Of course he knows where I live! --------------------- [4/13/11:  He recently installed a new water heater and told me where to get one myself so I did not have to pay him to fetch it.  There was a very  minor problem with the installation and when I called him I told him no rush, anytime this week to fix it.  He was there the next day fussing and highly apologetic.  It was obvious that the imperfection bothered him more than it bothered me.]

Michael and his team are great. He's installed a garbage disposal and the thermo couple on our water heater (twice bc it's a crappy water heater). Very responsive, very thorough, and reasonable price--he even checked in after the jobs to make sure everything was working! I would hire him again for any plumbing needs.

Ameer is the best plumber in the Bay Area if you need someone that is nice honest and fast you need him. Ameer came with in an hour of me calling he fixed my outdoor faucet after it being knocked off. I will be referring all my friends and family to him! AMEER THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Nice on the phone, but didn't show up for the appointment. When I called them, they said they were too busy to make it and couldn't reschedule until the following week. Are you kidding me, you make a mistake and I get pushed out a week.

If you value your time or need something done quickly, don't call them.

Literally came over to my parents Julie past 9pm on Memorial Day weekend to help us move a fridge. It was one of those urgent and important tasks and it was awesome to get his response asap and have the whole situation resolved in an hour. Thank you!

Came on short notice late in the day and got the initial problem solved. Then took the initiative to make things even better than they were before. All while being very relaxed and cordial. Really great.

Avalon Services is our go-to company for all plumbing related issues.  Will and his crew came through for us when our water main broke recently and he has also worked on our water heater and external hose bib in the past.  

We called them frantically in the morning and they were out the same afternoon to determine what the problem was.  Within 24hours they had us back up and running!  They had to dig about 120 feet of trench (through poison oak and underbrush on a hillside) from the meter to the house and suggested adding a spigot at the halfway point in the line to make it easier for us to water the garden.

Fantastic service with our clogged drain!  Matt is extremely helpful and responsive to our plumbing needs.

Our guest toilet was constantly filling the bowl with water, which meant the flapper wasn't holding the water in the reservoir. I've fixed these myself before, but this current toilet is special and I couldn't service it directly. The Power Room was incredible.

John -- in the store, he quickly helped me identify the toilet model I had, the parts inside, and provided instruction on how the pieces fit together.
Art -- the new owner was super easy to work with, sent texts on the iPhone with estimates and line item costs. Not only that, he got us schedule very quickly.
Chris -- the guy who came on site hit some snags while trying to install the new parts, did some thinking, did some research, and found a way to get the new parts to fit smoothly. He tested it and did a demo for us at which point we found related problem requiring him to more time. He was pleasant, easy to work with and kept saying, I'm here to make this work. I'll make this work. And he did. He was pleasant. He had a genuine smile. And he was dedicated.

This is kind of too bad.  Reading the reviews makes someone think that kind of experience is what to expect.  I guess I would give this company more slack if it didn't advertise that it gives 100% response time within 1 hour.  See, I haven't even gotten that far.  

I went to their website, filled out a request for quote form (because it isn't an emergency) on Monday afternoon.  Waited.  Called them Wednesday afternoon at 1:20pm because it's not an emergency but I am trying to get a quote, and left a voice message with all the details I put in my request on their Contact Form - and mentioning in the voice message that I filled out the Quote Request on Monday.  Today is Friday.  Nothing.  No, it's not an emergency.  But four days to still not reply to a request for quote when they advertise what they do is what is disappointing.  I don't doubt the great reviews from other people, and I am a pretty patient and understanding person, and maybe it's just unlucky; but to advertise the response rate the way they do is disappointing, something people should hear about, and reason for the one star.  They might notice that.

We were required to have a water heater installation upgraded as a result of an required inspection by Berkeley City. The city sent us a list of requirements for all the upgrades. Mauro's team did the work quickly and efficiently. When the inspector came for the re-inspection, he told us that not only did they meet the requirements but they also installed a sensor that was not requested. The inspector said that because it was installed, the next inspection period had been satisfied and date extended. Thank you Mauro!

Bought $70 worth of plumbing supplies at 1 pm on Saturday afternoon an hour later I return these off the shelf items and they charged me a 25% return charge.    What da heck!  25%!    Last time I will ever purchase anything from these folks.

Tom Cortez suggested that I make my laundry room inside my home more spacious, by rerouting 220 electrical outlet and lint outlet all on one side.  My existing water heat was so hard to get to as my dryer was on the left side and washer was on the right side.  Lint trap behind dryer was blocked as my room was so small and dryer was pushed back to the timber block wall.

He suggested that a stackable washer and dryer to have both on one side of laundry room.

His crew installed everything in A timely matter.  
If I had a questions or concerns, Tom, got right back with me on the phone.

I highly recommend Savior Plumbing.  I found them in my Diamond Certified book.  Their scoring was a 5 stars in that book.
