had a clog issue in my bathroom with water backup. it was late evening and when I called gater rooter I got a quick response. they asked me some details on the call, explained what they need to do and the pricing upfront. then within 30 mins they came and resolved the issue by snaking it out. they also helped us understand the source of the clog and what steps we can take to address it long term with estimates. overall very professional and timely help! thank you!

This is a repeat of what I wrote on another occasion. We recently again had need of Art's capable hands for a home plumbing problem. Everything I wrote before applies, so I am gratefully resubmitting this review: I wouldn't hesitate for one minute to recommend Art Hansen for a plumbing job.  We are a senior couple who had put off some plumbing repairs in our 1924 Palo Alto home until we could ignore them no longer. Not knowing where to turn, I looked at the reference page of Yelp and I was convinced immediately that he was our guy. Art was everything a professional plumber should be and so much more. He's thoroughly professional, responsive, diligent and highly skilled. Understanding what some of our plumbing issues were (past tense) with our vintage fixtures, he went about remedying our long standing problems. He took pains to explain the nature of the problems and the possible remedies. Had I known how  little effort it should take to flush a toilet or to stop a faucet from dripping, we would have called him long ago. I want to add that our problems were not trivial. This was not a question of a washer here or there. Parts (difficult to find) were required, and Art had to return several times to complete the job. He did all work neatly and cheerfully, actually working with my husband to find sources for the parts. We recommend him with confidence.

I've had to call Cedric and his team 3 times and each time has been great service. Despite having to recall on one of the services, they came out late night and fixed the issue in no time at all, and partially refunded the cost, guaranteeing their workmanship. They are very knowledgeable and professional. I'd call them again for sure.

We called Palo Alto Plumbing Heating & Air tonight, a Sunday at 5 pm. We needed the thermocouple replaced on our water heater. The owner answered the phone and came out and fixed the problem all within 90 minutes. I really appreciated the quick service. And the price was reasonable, too. I always like to pick a locally-based company whenever I can and I will definitely call this company again based on our service tonight.

Dependable gentleman. Hardworking and honest. Hes busy and that is a good thing. If he wasn't busy, I'd be worried when calling.

These guys are the real deal.   Had a stoppage in my cast iron main sewage line.   The team showed up on time as promised, worked tirelessly to snake and hydro clean the line - and we are up and running again.   Enrique suggested that I consider replacing the cast iron lines with PVC at some point to avoid problems associated with aging cast iron.    Will definitely hire these folks again for any plumbing related needs or replacements.  

Invoice received via email with Quickbooks and payment was a breeze.  Pleasure to work with a professional company that has high integrity in all regards and priced fairly.

UPDATE 9/25/2020:  Enrique and his team came back to do a few more jobs for me in the last few days, including adding a secondary cleanout for the main line in front of the house; great idea and it was done flawlessly with total regard to quality and asthetics.   These guys totally rock and stick to their firm quotes.   Can't go wrong with this operation, give them a try.

I'm very impressed with this company. I had an emergency, was freaking out, and ended up with this company at my house. I'm almost, almost, glad my plumbing exploded. From the lady who answered the phone to the crew at my house, I was happy with the service. Nick and Adam came out twice, over a 2 day job, and made sure I knew everything that was happening as well as reassuring me that they would fix it / find the problem. They were very respectful, personable, and professional. They cleaned up after themselves really well, no evidence left behind. I wouldn't hesitate to call this company again and / or recommend them to others.

Our water heater was broken on Sunday.  The water was coming out of the heater unit and it has started to flow through the garage.  I had the suspicious that the unit is broken and it turn out to be true as well.  We then closed the gas pipe and water inflow to the heater unit.  This unit (Bradford white) was replaced in 2014 by Advanced plumbing.  However, it has broken in less than 7 years.  I was thinking that Bradford was a reliable brand and can run for atleast 10 years.  So, called up the same company (Advanced plumbing) for a quote to replace this unit again.  But their quote was way way too much as compared to other companies that I had talked to.  One of my friend referred me Vince from VIP plumbing.  So, I have called up Vince on Sunday itself.  Since Vince doesn't work on Sundays, he asked me to send the pictures of the unit and he would come on Monday to replace the new unit and also mentioned that he would lower the price if I get a quote from other companies.  I had also called up Plumbing Care Inc and they showed up to look at the heater unit and provided me quote for three different heater units.  I felt that their price was ok but wanted to check with Vince to see if he can lower the price.  So, Vince was kind enough to lower the price compared to the quote given by Plumbing Care.  Vince came over today (Monday) and replaced the heater unit and made the system up and running.

I am really happy with the way Vince installed the unit and the professionalism.  I would highly recommend Vince to all my friends.

Over the years I have used Guy Plumbing many, many times.  They always come out very quickly, usually the same day.   The work they have done for me has always been high quality.  Everything from toilet repairs to  faucet installations to helping me detect a problem with our water line.  

I also appreciate the fact that if there is a job they can't do, they simply tell me that on the phone and will often also tell me the best place to go to get the job done.  The folks they refer to are of similar high quality, and I trust their recommendations.  It's also nice that when you call, you pretty much always get a real person, and that person knows their stuff.  No waiting on hold, no callbacks where you have to explain your problem again and again.

I actually can't think of a service business in the Menlo Park area that I would recommend more highly - Guy Plumbing is awesome.

Confirmed a 12-2 appointment. They never came and never called. I called to find out when and was rescheduled to the next day.
When I called to confirm the next appointment, I was told there wasn't a guarantee anyone would show up. I told the lady I was finding someone else (another company) then to do the work. She then committed to a time. The plumber arrived during that time window and quoted a very high price to clear two drains. There was a separate price for each drain. Then when the work was finished I was told he was there for three hours which was not true he was there working for two hours because we had not agreed on the price.
They also expect payment up front which is ridiculous - I told them I'd pay when the job is done.
Over all - the plumber John is a salesman with overly high prices. He may do good work, but the entire operation is sleazy.

My new favorite plumber in Morgan Hill is Thomas Plumbing! We had two back-to-back issues, a leak in a kitchen pull-out faucet hose and then a bad air gap and clogged pipe in the dishwasher which came to a head the very next day. Between Ricardo and Dean who each responded to the various issues, each was handled very professionally and competently. And because the two issues occurred so close together, Dave helped out by discounting the labor charges. Thanks to all of you!

I called the business number on their website at 9pm with the intent to leave a message about getting a plumbing service this week.

The guy who answered was SUPER RUDE and acted as if I called his personal phone.  This is a listed business phone number.  The conversation was ridiculous.  He acted like I was committing the most egregious crime by calling his business line at 9pm.

Summary:
(1) SUPER RUDE customer service.  Guess what?  There are tons of plumbers out there, and most people prefer to hire people who aren't super rude and should possibly be in therapy or psychoactive drugs.
(2) DIVIDE YOUR PERSONAL CELL PHONE LINE FROM YOUR BUSINESS LINE.  There is modern technology that allows you to let customers leave voicemail.

PS - I don't know how this business ended up with a high Yelp review.  I know lots of businesses incentivize their customers to review them on Yelp and they'll get 10% off or something.  I'm guessing a lot of these reviews weren't done without some incentive and from the bottom of their heart.

I had an old leaking shower cartridge that was stuck in the valve. Most plumbers recommened full valve replacement which might have required shower replacement due to its age.

Jerry was friendly on the phone and quoted me a reasonable price to do the work. He even gave me some hints to try before his appointment. Well, his advice worked! I got the cartridge out and replaced it myself. I will certainly call Jerry with any future plumbing problems I have. He knows his stuff!

We were in the process of remodeling our kitchen and needed a plumber to connect everything (sink, garbage disposal, faucet, dishwasher (Bosch) and our new gas range top to our existing gas line)  Chico came out same day to provide an estimate, followed Covid-19 protocols and made sure that we had all the right equipment for install date.   The quote was very competitive and we chose him to do the installs.
We had a delay with our tile installers, Chico was very flexible in pushing the date by a day.   On the day of the install, Chico and his crew came and completed the job quickly, fixing a substandard job that our developer had done with our plumbing.  
Everything looks great, we are so happy with the results.

My condo were 40yr+ old and I needed someone to replaced the original shower over tub faucet and 2 shut off valve within the 3 hour time window my HOA gave me (as my unit doesn't have its own water main, the whole building need to shutdown its water service). Clear drain was able to finish the work with 2 ppl on-site and they worked professionally and handled ll the clean up afterwards. I would appreciate their professionalism to get the job done.

The faucet of our Roman tub on the second floor started leaking and because of a bad repair effort done by another plumber, it then started leaking through the ceiling into the downstairs kitchen. This time we called BG Plumbing and they did an awesome job. Baldomero from BG Plumbing came and stopped the leak in no time and at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend BG Plumbing for all your plumbing needs.

I would give AquaLogic a 6 out of 5 if I could. Eric and Jacob are super courteous and very responsive. They installed a water softener, a under-sink reverse osmosis and backyard bypass for our house. Unlike other vendors who try to sell you over-priced systems, you can shop your own softener and have them brought it to your home. The work quality is superb. We had an installation error partly at my fault. Eric quickly fixed it to my full satisfaction. Here is my two cents: Send AquaLogic an email with pictures when you need their help. They may not have time answering the call during daytime. You'll get ripped off buying a system from large businesses like Costco. AquaLogic guarantees instant money-saving and first-tier work quality. Our family is quite happy about having such an excellent local plumbing business.

This company came out to do an estimate for a panel replacement.  They charge a fee just to come out and give an estimate. They really tried to play up the danger in our current electrical system and use fear to get us to sign.  Their offer for service was initially triple what is the going rate for this service is elsewhere. I felt very bad about the whole situation and the estimator wouldn't promise the same price unless we signed that day.  These guys way overcharge for the same services you can get elsewhere.  I had multiple other electricians come out and give price quotes that were literally half of what this company's best offer is.

Routine service, annual check with these guys who are contractor for one hour service plan. The plan charge is 20 per month. Using a power wrench, the one guy stripped the top cathode bolt and kept going until every speck of rust in the heater was let loose and completely clogged hot water system for house and required immediate replacement of water heater. Expecting two people the next day but only one shows up? Took entire day and 3400 dollars. I was suckered and don't want the same thing to happen to another senior.
