HISTORY

Established in 2012.
Mauro has been working in the plumbing industry since 2001. He was an employee and partner before deciding to launch Mauro's Plumbing in 2012. His satisfied and complimentary customers were his motivation to take a risk and go out on his own. I get immense satisfaction from the gratification I see on people's faces when I've completed a job. Often times when I get a call the customer is stressed. They may be experiencing a plumbing emergency and are concerned about the cost. Problem solving, explaining and demystifying plumbing to my customers is a HUGE part of my job and something I take great pride in doing well. When possible I always try to provide my customers with options. If it's a simple problem they can fix themselves I will let them know how. If it's a bigger problem with a greater cost involved, I will educate them on a short term less expensive fix versus a long term more expensive solution.

I am originally from Brazil and emigrated to the Bay Area in 1991. My attraction to living in the United States was the opportunity of working hard and seeing tangible results. My dream was to have my own business and with hard work, perseverance and making connections I have been able to accomplish that. We are a small family owned business and we take great care to provide excellent customer service. I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish as well as English.

I hired Mauro's Plumbing to fix a pipe leak and replaced the water shutoff valve and the pressure relive valve.  The crew showed up on time and prices were fair compare to other quotes I have received.  

Juan was very meticulous when replacing the shutoff valve and the pressure relive valve.  The crew were friendly, knowledgeable, and worked quickly.  I would recommend them for future work.    

They are a bit slow on responding to Yelp messages, but they are responsive and easy to communicate with over the phone; I would suggest calling them instead if you don't get a response from them right away.

After a few months of our slow draining sink we decided to call a plumber. We contacted Mauro's Plumbing and were able to book an appointment the following afternoon.

Our first impressions were not great... Luiz and Javier arrived almost two hours late due to their previous plumbing job running longer than expected. And after snaking the drain, a pipe broke and water began leaking through the downstairs ceiling. It wasn't their fault, though, the galvanized pipes were about 80 years old. They said they would have to come back and replace the broken pipe. I asked how much it would cost to change the whole sink drain pipe and they gave an estimate of $2,500.

The following day, they arrived nearly an hour early and began working immediately. Luiz said they will do their best to finish the job in one day. These guys work HARD. They went non stop from 10:00am - 7:00pm. I didn't see them stop to eat lunch, snack, or even sit down to take a breather. I thought there was going to be a huge mess after the job was over because they had to open up our ceiling, remove 20 feet of piping, plus and additional 70 feet of piping in the crawl space and replace them. But they got the job done and cleaned up EVERYTHING as if the new pipes magically appeared 9 hours later. You can literally just sit back, drink a beer, watch the game, and these guys will fix your plumbing problems with no fuss and no mess. In the end we were charged exactly $2,500.

Initially I was going to give these guys maybe like 3 or 4 stars or not bother to write a review but they were so incredibly hard working, kind, and professional that I felt obligated to do so. I see now why they have 5/5 star reviews.

We just moved and were dealing with a clog in our new sink. Home warranty sent the worst actual plumbers in the world, said they couldn't snake cause there wasn't a clean out, would have to follow up with me but never did, just took my money and ran.

Mauro's came out same day, and had the snake drained and cleared in under an hour, all while being super professional.

My under sink hot water pump started making odd sounds and, the water gets cold too soon (the back-flow valve is inside the pump itself and seems to be stuck open).  And, oddly, the radio control button that starts the pump (ours does not operate on a pre-timed schedule 24 x 7 all day long or, worse, run all of the time) now seems to now get triggered by our garage door opener - never did this before.  Mauro came out to inspect a few days after contact and gave us his estimate - we're still considering it as it was pretty high.  He was polite, competent, efficient and the estimate came quickly, but as I said, it was unexpectedly high.

Mauro himself came over and determined the rattling in the wall above my toilet was not a plumbing issue. Not only did he explain why it wasn't, he offered a suggestion of what it might be. Even after his analysis he volunteered to go in the attic crawl space to see where the pipes and air vents and fanning system might be to aid me in figuring out the specific problem. As he was up there he noticed a pipe could be more secure so he secured it. He went above and beyond. Amazing in this day and age, especially because the plumber my HOA called was going to replace something in my toilet (even though my toilet was working just fine) or cut open my wall. When I do have a plumbing issue, I will immediately call Mauro Plumbing to do the job. They have the expertise, care and want to solve your problem. Thank you so very much!

Our p-trap under our sink was dripping and we had a new faucet to install.  They responded within one day.  They made an appointment the next day.  They did a great job we're in and out in a hour.  Thank you.  No more dripping water under our sink or above ou sink.  Thank you!

Wow we were so happy with Mauro's Plumbing.  Yelp really came through. Called them up out of the blue on the day after New Year's Day.  They called back the next day and sent some nice men over here the day after that. We had a sump pump problem so I was looking for a plumber who dealt with sump pumps. We also had a clogged sink. They advised on the sump pump, dealt with two other minor things AND snaked the sink. They told us that we had a gross clog of hair and yech about twenty five feet down the bathroom drain pipe! All clear now. They were on time, professional, polite, competent, efficient, easy to work with and altogether, GREAT!  We will definitely use them again!

Our water heater broke this past Monday, and we had water pooling under the crawlspace. I was able to get in touch with Amy from Mauro's right away the same morning, and the plumber (Mauro?), was able to come within a couple hours. They shared what the issue was, the quote to fix it, and they were able to do the work immediately in less than 3 hours, including replacing the tank with a new one and fixing the plumbing. Fast, friendly and responsive!

We needed someone to fix a leak in the pipe coming out of our tankless water heater. I called Mauro's Plumbing. Mauro came out that same afternoon to do an estimate. When none of his workers were available to fix the pipe, Mauro came back two hours later and did the job himself. And now we no longer have a leaky pipe. He was fast, friendly, and efficient.

Two of our showers had issues (temperature control and water leak). I called Mauro's Plumbing and was able to setup an appointment the next morning. They sent over their plumber named Johnny. He was very efficient in correcting the issues and more importantly he came off as a friendly and decent young man. He is a great asset to their company and employees like Johnny are the reason I will continue to call upon them for any plumbing issues I have in the future.

Our pipes leading out from our laundry system had a lot of grease and build up and we needed a fix quickly to prevent our attached sink from overflowing and Mauro's plumbing came to our rescue! They provided a fair quote and were in and out within an hour and also came back just a few days later to do the repair. Would recommend!

The service was good, but the quote was off by 60%. They quoted me $180 service plus $10 parts for a wax ring to be replaced but I was charged $310.

Should have called these guys before i went to HomeDepot and then Berkeley Rentals. Oly and his assistant did great work clearing out my sewer lateral. GUYS, listen to your wife before you go renting a 100 foot auto snake and spending twice what Mauro's will charge. From now on I will be calling Mauro's for all my plumbing needs. Great job!

We were required to have a water heater installation upgraded as a result of an required inspection by Berkeley City. The city sent us a list of requirements for all the upgrades. Mauro's team did the work quickly and efficiently. When the inspector came for the re-inspection, he told us that not only did they meet the requirements but they also installed a sensor that was not requested. The inspector said that because it was installed, the next inspection period had been satisfied and date extended. Thank you Mauro!

Highly professional, impeccable work, so responsive I'd have to call it instantaneous. When my water heater stopped working, Mauro personally came within a few hours of my call. He arrived early. Gave expert advice. Got it running. Would not accept payment. Cautioned me that my 14-year-old unit would likely break again. Of course, he was right. The very next morning, 8 a.m., I asked him to replace the unit. Within an hour, his ace team of Juan and Jose arrived. They located the unit I wanted and installed it before noon. SAME DAY. I didn't think this kind of workmanship still existed. HIRE THESE GUYS!

Mauro's workers worked fast and fixed the issues. End result is functional but it ain't pretty.

I was referred to them by my realtor. I think I was able to schedule within a couple of days for a shower that had no cold water. Two guys came. One older knowledgeable guy, not Mauro, and a younger guy who spoke English. In the end they accomplished the 2 jobs pretty quickly. I will say communication was really difficult initially but became easier later. I wish I spoke Spanish. They cleared a shower line and replaced some laundry spigots that were old and leaking

For the Laundry spigots they had to add extension pipe pieces they had in their truck. They were different sizes and they used a shorter one where the longer one should have been because of the window sill was in the way. I tried to communicate this but it got lost in translation. He was able to do it but the spigots are at different angles now. He did have to dig into the wall, which is fine, but they put a bunch of silicone caulk in the inch wide crevice- probably would have been better to use spackle. See pic. It really isn't pretty and I can't paint that silicone caulk, but it works. 4 stars.

We had a good experience with Mauro's when we needed a fix to get our new washing machine working. They were able to get someone out to give us an estimate within a couple of days, and then were able to complete the job same-day after they gave us a quote. Their pricing was reasonable, and we'll definitely use them again!

I have been having issues with my drains since I got my place. Tried to do the work myself. Had another plumber come out who wanted to charge me more than my car payment just to fiddle with it and no guarantee.

Came to our house to fix a bathtub leak and couldn't find it after an hour of trying. After they left, it started leaking again immediately when we ran the shower. It was coming from the shower head-- which they hadn't bothered to inspect. Considering the high reviews on Yelp, we were shocked at the crap service we received. They were so unbothered and unconcerned  when they told us they couldn't find it. They knew they were getting paid and did nothing to earn it.

I had a wobbling toilet and Mauro's team came by fixed it by replacing the flange.  During the initial quoting process, Mauro dropped by and provided two recommendations. He even told me how to do it myself. It was good that I did not attempt the DIY project as it took some expertise the perform the repair work.  Thank you Mauro's Plumbing!

Mauro's Plumbing did a superior job on my house.
The main job was to clear ALL drains in my house.
My house was built just after WW2. The drains are cast iron. Over the years this house has settled & the drains build up rust and some disintegrate. .
This was large job. Mauro's plumbing gave me a fair quote, had all the right tools, did the job in a timely manor and cleaned up all of the mess.

Have had a broken toilet handle for the past several weeks that has been kept functioning with duct-tape. Contacted Mauro's for a fix and was able to easily schedule an appointment at a time that worked for my at home work schedule.   The technician was on time, and arrived with necessary parts due to having received photos beforehand.  The repair was quick and efficient, with great service and attention to all COVID protocols.  I highly recommend Mauro's Plumbing!!

My tenant had an issue with their shower handle breaking after many years of use.  The water wouldn't shut off all the way because of this, but I couldn't replace the shower handle because the screw that held it in was rusted into the shower cartridge.  The simple solution was to replace the shower cartridge.  I hired Mauro's Plumbing for this job.  They were very responsive when contacted by phone and email so everything was easy to schedule.

Mauro's crew came out to replace the shower cartridge and they had a really difficult time removing the cartridge.  Not surprising since it's an old shower.  They started using heavier handed methods to remove the shower cartridge and ended up making a massive mistake.  They accidentally scraped the inside of the shower valve leaving a large scratch.  This ended up creating a leak that was never there before and in order to fix this problem, the entire shower valve needed to be replaced.  A relatively small job ended up being a big, expensive one.

I spoke to Mauro about the issue and he didn't even want to listen to me.  He became very defensive and just said that his guys didn't damage the valve, but there's no other possible explanation.  The leak didn't exist at all before.  The damage looked fresh.  I even had a different plumber look at the valve and he said that Mauro's guys definitely damaged it while pulling out the shower cartridge.  That type of damage doesn't just appear out of nowhere.

I understand that mistakes can happen despite people's best efforts.  I just wish that Mauro was more understanding and didn't immediately dismiss any notion that his crew could've made a mistake.  Admitting fault and coming up with a solution is what truly great businesses do.  It's unfortunate, but Mauro's Plumbing completely failed when it came to this.

Stay away.  While Amy who works in the office is great, Mauro is a crook.  Don't believe a word he says.  Maybe he was good, but now the customer is nothing but $ to him.  If you hire him be prepared to hire someone else to redo his work.

Mauros Plumbing helped address a leaky shower head that had plagued me for years. They identified the correct shower cartridge, helped me order it and installed it for half the price of Olivero's. I will be using Mauros for my future plumbing needs.

I almost hate to write this review because I don't want them to get to busy to take care of me but.... I own multiple properties in the east bay and have used Mauro's for over a decade.

We were very impressed by the Mauro's Plumbing team.  We had a buckling in our ceiling and we called them to inspect for leaks.  
The assistant got us an appointment, same day.  The team was prompt and went to work to find the leak.
They spent 30 minutes to identify the problem.  For now we are ok.
They didn't charge us for the inspection.  Wow!
These guys are real pros.  If we need a plumber, in future, we will call Mauro's Plumbing.

Definitely satisfied with Mauro's Plumbing!

Mauro came to survey and a few days later Amy facilitated two great technicians to get some work done for us. They replaced our outdoor water main and pressure regulator, replaced our kitchen faucet and troubleshooted a complicated drain link which required going into our crawl space to address. We hired them again a few days later to fix a disconnected shower drain.

They stand by their work. Almost two months later we noticed their was a leak under our sink which was related to the work they did prior. Amy promptly scheduled a visit to get things fixed, no questions asked.

Lastly, they are reasonably priced. I fielded multiple quotes for the work above (make sure you get at least three) and one local plumber quoted me almost double the price!

So glad I went with Mauro's plumbing. And so should you!

P.S. The technicians are courteous and wear masks and shoe coverings while working.

Sewer ejection pump malfunctioned.  Mauro's master plumber recommended an upgrade from the model that was installed in 2005 (that model never worked consistently).  We have two months labor guarantee, should it stop working.  So far so good.

I've dealt with many plumbers over the years.  I think my experience earlier today with Mauro's Plumbing has set the bar quite high.  They responded quickly and professionally with their dispatcher picking up all the appropriate details of the requests repairs.  The team of two they dispatched arrived right at the agreed on time.  They were courteous, communicated well and set to work rapidly. The team divided their tasks and worked with remarkable efficiency, installing a dishwasher disposal and unclogging a long problematic drain that a handyman had earlier failed to correct.  They were like a plumbing commando unit really!  Highly recommend this plumber.

Alright, I'll admit they are good. I was reading these yelp reviews and picked them for their consistent feedback.

I called in this week to schedule an appointment and they are on top of the communication. They arrived as promised. Ardelio (hope I got that spelling correct) was courteous and was happy to answer all my questions.

The issue was basically my main line was blocked and they were able to clear it out. If in case it wasn't cleared out, they actually warranty their work for several months which is great! Puts my mind at ease. Will consider them and recommend them for plumbing needs.

Jose and Luis were great! The people who were supposed to install my range couldn't find the gas shutoff and refused to install it. I was able to get Jose and Luis over a couple of hours later. They located the shutoff in a secret compartment under one of our drawers. They were able to shut off the gas and detach the range. They were fast, efficient, and courteous and I would 100% use them again.

Had two slow leaks that weren't urgent but were annoying. The team came in and found the source, fixed it and charged me exactly what they quoted me -- easy and as promised! I definitely recommend and will use them again for future plumbing needs. They are professional and know what they're doing.

What a fantastic place! We had an issue with a loud whining noise coming from our pipes whenever the water in the basement was turned on, and other very respected plumbing companies could not figure out the problem. Mauro came out and first thought the issues was due to our pressure regulator that was broken. But when after replacing that the issue was not fixed, they kept investigating and in the end found that something was stuck in some old pipe in the basement. They fixed it and charged surprisingly little for the amount of time they had to put in.

For our future plumbing needs I will immediately call Mauro and not bother with any other company.

These folks are amazing!  My toilet needed a new part.  When the guy arrived yesterday, I took him to the bathroom and I went to get a snack so I could sit in front of the TV until he finished.  Well, by the time I got my snack out of the refrigerator and before I could make it to the couch, HE WAS DONE.  We're talking about less than five minutes!  I was thoroughly impressed.  My toilet works fine now.

A big shout-out, five stars, and tons of gratitude to Mauro and his team.

I have a basement bathroom with an up-flush pump that had stopped working. I was dismayed when my call to Mauro's went to voicemail, but just two minutes later Amy called back and was able to dispatch Mauro to my place within an hour or so. (A word to the wise: DON'T be put off by their voicemail message which states We do not do emergency repairs -- that doesn't mean they can't come out right away, because they absolutely did!)

Mauro quickly diagnosed the problem as a failed flotation device, and not the pump itself, which would have been FAR more expensive to replace. (I point this out because a different well-known and respected Bay Area plumber told me on the phone We don't open them up; all we can do for you is just replace the whole pump. Buyer beware!)

Mauro called his supplier to source the part, gave me a rough and reasonable estimate, and was back with the part (and a couple of helpers) in just minutes. They completed the repair quickly and efficiently, cleaned up after themselves, and even came in significantly lower than the quote Mauro had provided.

These guys were awesome! Plumbing emergency in the morning and they were out 5 hours later and fixed the problem! I called probably a dozen places and got voice mail or they couldn't come by for minimum 2 days. Office staff lady was kind and kept me informed every step of the way. The plumbers were prompt, polite and covid cautious. Definitely recommend!

I don't often write negative reviews, because running a small business in today's environment is incredibly difficult, and each needs our support. However, Mauro's Plumbing needs to be called out for their unprofessional behavior. First they didn't honor the scheduled appointment, cancelling hours before they were supposed to arrive. These things happened, so we scheduled another date and time. I called several hours before the rescheduled appointment time to confirm they would indeed be coming to the tenant occupied apartment that needed a new water heater. Amy confirmed that they would call me when they were on their way so that I could be there (per the tenant's requirement for entry).
Well they never called, and when they did arrive it was after the appointment window provided, further angering the tenant. They went into the apartment without anyone from building management present, took a few pictures, and left. The tenant made sure to let me know what happened and how they felt about it, so I called the office to get a better understanding of where there might have been a misunderstanding. They didn't have the decency to return my call. The next day I get a text that, yes, the water heater needs to be replaced (uh, yeah...that was the stated purpose of the visit), but Mauro is too busy with bigger projects so good luck!

Maybe you've got a nice expensive project that is more worth their time than my little old water heater/gas line replacement.

My water heater died at a few years old, the warranty was near useless (Rheem), and I needed to find a plumber fast. I dreaded contacting all the places that charge outrageous amounts for estimates and gouging prices for repairs.
Then I found Mauro Plumbing. Their price was very fair (not dirt cheap but that's OK), they were able to come take a look at it, I got the parts from the manufacturer, and they installed them the next day. They were knowledgeable and did a perfect job. Also a pleasure to deal with.

I have been using Mauro's company for many years and today his excellent service moved me to write a review--which is saying a lot because I hate Yelp!  

I had already asked my super skilled carpenter to look at my shower handle and he couldn't get the old one off without more tools.  Oh no worst fear, my 13 yr. old son going days without a shower!

First, Mauro himself came to my rescue on a same day notice.  He was only scheduled to conduct an inspection of the problem because he's the owner and has plenty of skilled guys of his own he normally sends out.  However, lucky me, Mauro was near the end of his day when I called!  He arrived like a monk at my doorstep, not a plumber.  Once he realized we couldn't turn off our shower, he jumped right in...

The cartridge you bought doesn't fit the old one, he whispered.  What should we do?! I asked.  My worst fear creeping up again, reschedule for another day?  No. he warmly assured me.

Like a zen master, he quietly broke off the warped handle (with his hand, no tools required!) and began assembling old parts with new parts, all while teaching me how the pieces function together.  Am I really learning how to install this alongside him as the crisis is being averted?!  Yup!  That's the magic of Mauro and his incredible team!

I have used Mauro on several occasions, and now they have become borderline fraudulent in my opinion. They continue producing inaccurate and outrageous billing.  Every time I have to call and get the bill corrected, and this time as opposed to being apologetic, they have become belligerent.  A couple of years ago, my experience was in general positive.

My toilet was overflowing whenever it flushed, so I called Mauro's. They fixed the toilet within half an hour for a reasonable price ($140). My plumber seemed pretty knowledgeable about his craft, and I really appreciated his evaluation of the problem and the speed of his solution.

The only hiccup I experienced was with scheduling. One thing I found a little frustrating was that they don't schedule specific times for plumbers to arrive, but time frames (as in: The plumber will arrive between 5 and 6). This could be difficult for people with tight schedules. My plumber also arrived at my door thirty minutes earlier than I had scheduled, though he was very flexible and seemed completely fine with waiting for me to return from work. This didn't cause any problems.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. First, here is the TLDR: They refused to do the job when they showed up, because it was a 2 story building A FACT I HAD TOLD THEM IN ADVANCE.

I am a property manager in the bay area and I have worked with multiple plumbers on a range of projects. I had a particular challenge snaking the plumbing vent on the roof of a 2 story building. I called several plumbers and they said they couldn't do it. Mauro's said they could. Great news... or so I thought. First, the rescheduled the first meeting. Ok. That happens. Then they showed up early without calling. Ok, that's not so bad.  I ask the dispatcher/office manager if they have a ladder with them. She doesn't know. So I bring my own. Ok. Still, everything is fine if they fix the problem.

And when I get there, its one guy instead of the 2 they said. Uh oh. This is a 2 person job.  Ok, the other guy is supposed to be on the way. Ok. This person was named Olly.

So now the guy want's to try other things, to explore and see if he can find the problem causing the plumbing mystery. I say ok, but I also want them to do the job I asked for because other people have fixed this but the problem keeps coming back.  The guy keeps going I can fix this in five minutes. I can. I am magic!  Of course, he doesn't know what the problem is. He is just hoping that he finds something that lets him NOT try the difficult work.

Now look, if they had said beforehand Oh, we can't get our snake equipment onto the 2nd floor roof. I would not be giving them a bad review. That would be disappointing and I would move on. But they wanted the business so they took the job. And I want to be clear. When setting up the appointment I asked the scheduler Can you get to a roof vent on a 2nd floor roof? I want to make sure. If not, that's fine, I can call someone else.  All that was days before when we were scheduling.

So, I'm there, I speak to Mauro on the phone. I explain that the guy can look at whatever he wants, but I still need them to do the job I brought them there to do. He says ok, asks to talk to his guy. His guy says We won't do it.

What really makes me mad here isn't that they couldn't fix the problem. I've had other plumbers try and fix this, none of them got bad reviews. What makes me mad is that they couldn't tell me in advance that they couldn't do this WHEN I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF THE SECOND STORY WAS A REASON THEY COULDN'T DO IT.  

The net result: with days to go before the holidays I have residents who may experience a plumbing backup and families that I cannot let use their washing machine and I have to start over finding a plumber who CAN do this job.  But on the bright side, I have one less plumber to call since I will never call them for anything ever again.

Javier & Juan just completed a difficult all day job in an outstanding manner. They were diligent in explaining exactly what needed to be done and stopped to let us know when any potential difficulties arose so we could make informed decisions. They worked constantly, with a minimal lunch break and made sure that everything was cleaned up afterwards. This is the second time I have used Mauros' Plumbing for big jobs and trust them completely. They are worth waiting for if their schedule is backed up.

Wow. I have no idea how Mauro finds such great plumbers, particularly in this red-hot construction market. They've been out three times. The first time to fix a toilet that wouldn't flush properly. It was so much better after they worked on it, we had them come do the same thing to another toilet. Then the first toilet started running and they came back and fixed it for free as a warranty issue.

Everyone that came by was nice, polite, clean and punctual. They give us a one hour window to expect them and then took that seriously. One guy was 15 minutes late, but called within the window to apologize and give us a new ETA. They all put booties on before stepping on the carpet and carefully tidied up after they were done. It could not have been a better experience. The prices were quite reasonable too!

Not that I need more competition for Mauro's time, but I have to give props to the amazing team at Mauro's Plumbing.

Mauro is knowledgeable about all kinds of plumbing including gas lines, and he always makes sure that the job is well done. Amy, who runs the office, responds promptly and really works with you to make sure that your issues are resolved.

I've hired other plumbers in the past, but these days, I don't even bother to comparison shop for projects because Mauro is so fantastic.

They didn't reattach pipe next to sink trap, found a big puddle underneath my sink today. They had cleared the clog in the drain pipe very quickly and his service seemed fantastic at first, but to find this now makes me wish we had gone with someone else to clear the drain.  
I look underneath my sink for a sponge and find a puddle, a loose sink trap, and a fitting not even screwed on. Look elsewhere.

My shower faucet handle broke during the evening which caused water to shoot from the fixture and I couldn't stop it unless I turned off the water main.  I thought I would have to buy a whole new faucet so I picked it the next morning and then called Mauro's for assistance.  They were very responsive and sent someone quickly (we set up an appointment that day.)  Their plumbers took a look at it, told me they didn't need to install a whole new faucet but had to find a replacement part and went back to their shop.  It took a little while, but they came back, did a quick job and it cost less than the replacement fixture.  It was a big relief and they were competent, efficient and friendly.

They are really busy, so call ahead and be flexible.  They will try their best if there is an emergency.  They work with water, gas, and even earthquake safety shut offs for gas lines.

I called Mauro for several jobs after. He is amazing. Every job is done in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, he has a very rude office manager Amy. I don't know why she is always angry. She was rude on the phone, in the email. She didn't care to understand the situation or simply ask questions. When I question about her decisions, she simply told me to find someone else to do the job if I don't agree with her. I really enjoyed Mauro's work and attitude. I would like to call him again for future work. Frankly, I have to simply reduce a star because I have to deal with Amy before I can get to Mauro.

I really use yelp as a barometer of the work companies perform.  Mauro had great reviews, I looked at what folks said about the work and expertise advice and gave them a call.  Got a call back after hours and the ball started rolling.  Mauro came out and gave great suggestions for me and said he could do all of the work I needed.  The day he came out with his two employees they got busy.  The two employees he left to do the work did a good job, they took their time and fixed things that were exposed after they got into my pipes.  I recommend them because the work was great, the timing was great and the price was fair.

We learned that we had a serious gas leak in the house. After PG&E shut off the gas we were pressed to find a solution asap. We called several plumbers and learned along the way that the least expensive solution was to replace the entire gas line rather than dig a section under a concrete slab in the garage. Most of them priced the job by benchmarking prices to the more expensive Albert Nehman while others lacked the communication skills (not English-language skills) to explain the job or did not bother to examine the crawl space under the house.
When Mauro and his team arrived, he diagnosed and clearly communicated the new gas line route, explained the city code requirements and priced the job fairly. We waited a few days for him to start the job, but it was worth it. His amazing team worked hard in terrible weather to finish the installation in two days.  The job was done with city and PG&E inspections and was completed in timely fashion.
I have managed a Facilities department for a large retailer and dealt with many, many vendors. I found Mauro's Plumbing to be professional, fair, honest, thoughtful, and trustworthy. We will not hesitate to use them again for other projects.

We just had a fantastic experience with this company. We were desperate because our sewage pump was broken, and the smell was horrible. Mauro's men came out almost immediately and assessed the problem, got the part within a few days, and showed up earlier than they said they would to fix it! That's a huge bonus. Their prices are quite reasonable, I think. They charged $360 for several hours of unpleasant labor while wading in sewage. I highly recommend Mauro's.

This review is long overdue. Mauro came to the rescue and was able to fix my water heater on very short notice.

A giant storm came through in December of 2014 that dumped a ton of rain and knocked out the power for an extended period of time. As a result, the sump pump in my basement stopped working and the basement completely flooded. Since the basement is also where the water heater lives, I not only had a soggy basement to clean up but also had a broken, flooded water heater.

I called around to a few other plumbers before finding Mauro. Every other plumber told me over the phone that the only option was to replace the water heater and required that I pre-purchase a unit before they would come out to fix it. Mauro, on the other hand, told me that he would come assess the situation before recommending next steps. He arrived on time, was super friendly and honest and was able to get the existing water heater back up and running very quickly. It's been almost two years and the water heater is still cranking away.

I never thought I'd leave a review on yelp for a plumbing company, but these guys really do deserve to be recognized for their fine work, friendly employees, and straightforward business ethics. From Amy in the office, who is always friendly and pleasant to speak to whenever I call, to pragmatic Mauro who gives reasonable quotes and good advice, to the various considerate, cleanly, and punctual employees, this really is a great company to work with.  I had over at least a half dozen plumbers for estimates and was really bummed out about either their attitudes or their sky-high prices-- but now that I've worked with Mauro, I don't even bother getting other numbers because I know he will give me a fair price.

Mauro was able to purchase parts very quickly and connect our water the same day. He also made recommendations for better placement of the backflow unit, to prevent it from being tampered with.

With all of his great reviews, I am sure he is in very high demand. But despite the demand in his services, our requests have always been responded to very quickly and treated with great importance. Mauro's wife, Amy, takes all the calls and is very friendly. When Mauro is busy with other jobs, she always takes down my questions and has them answered by Mauro as soon as he is available. They manage their time and customer service very well and make an excellent team.

He came and have the faucet leaking fixed with only 30 min, considering my undersink space is very tight and fixture a little complicated (to me at least!).  Afterwards I asked him to diagnose another problem and he gave me a realistic pros and cons solution. Will definitely call the office to set up the service call again. His rate is apparently industry standard. Like we all know Plumbers are expensive in America, unless you marry one!!!

I normally don't do reviews but this experience was above and beyond my expectations. To start off I had a leaking shut off under my sink and leaking main shut off. Javier from Mauro's was called to assist. He started by repairing the leak below the sink. he then soldered the main line and installed the new shut off. After he left I tested all the faucets and toilets. Our main bathroom flushed but did not refill. I called Mauro's and was greeted by a very attentive receptionist that called Javier back out. Javier returned, cleaned out the shut off valve, replaced the hose and replace a float in the tank. This fixed the problem! I was notified that they would review the situation and possibly get charged for the re-visit. To my surprise i received an email today and was told there wouldn't be any further charge. When you need a plumber, Call Mauro's!

I called Mauro's Plumbing to see if they could fix a leak with my irrigation control valve. They don't fix irrigation systems but since I was unsure what the problem was, they were kind enough to come by to see what they could do. Their team came and were able to find the problem. Although they couldn't fix it, I appreciate their willingness to stop by, spend 20-30 minutes digging water out of my lawn, and take a look - and at no charge. I will definitely call them should I have any plumbing issues in the future. They were friendly and helpful!!

Although they couldn't fix it, I appreciate their willingness to stop by, spend 20-30 minutes digging water out of my lawn, and take a look - and at no charge. Mauro is the BEST!  He is efficient, and quick, does quality work, and will return if there are any problems. He is also extremely pleasant,  friendly and  likable. I have two properties where he has done quality repairs. Today he fixed a leaking water pipe under the house. His quote was lower than the first, and I would have used him if it was higher. Because  I know I can trust him.
He always says call me if there are any problems, and leaves with a smile.  Of course, I hate to have plumbing problems, but I don't worry about what the outcome will be after his work is done.

Mauro's plumbing is my 2nd plumber. I love the price, Mauro is really professional. Maybe my case is not urgent, so it's not like every others review you can call right away and they come. They are super busy, so my case wait until both side available already 1 week later.

I also like how Mauro and Amy teams up and work together on schedule, so before the working day came, I never talk to Mauro. Amy is so fast at responding email, so I use email to ask Amy a quote, it's $120+ part. To my surprise, Mauro encourage me to use CREDIT CARD.

I wish I use Mauro's plumbing as my 1st plumber, because my 1st experience was pretty expensive. I spend $440 changing kitchen faucet, which I think I was rip off.

I will keep using Mauro's plumbing and recommend them to you.

I give them stars for coming quickly; called at 4 pm and got an appointment for 9 am  for what I thought was a leaking garbage disposal.  However, the two repairmen diagnosed the problem as a faulty kitchen faucet hose.  They were unable to replace it, as it needs to be ordered; frustrating, but understandable.   They recommended buying it online; so I sat down at my computer as they were working, and started looking.

They left quickly (no charge), once they figured out they couldn't fix the problem on the spot.  I would have appreciated them helping me order the right part, and would have been happy to pay them for their time; it took me a long time to narrow down what to buy, and I'm still not sure I ordered the correct fitting.  When I asked, one of the guys came over and pointed to the screen, saying, yeah, just get one of these.  He was pointing to hoses of the wrong brand, that would not have fit.  

Also, my biggest complaint... while they were diagnosing the problem, they were using the faucet, which was continuing to drip into the cabinet underneath, the reason I called them...  Several hours later, I went to look into the cabinet to see if I ordered the right type of fitting (I went by the model of the faucet, not realizing there are 3 different types of fittings), and realized they'd left a ton of standing water in my cabinet, even though there were towels right next to the sink, that I'd been using to dry the area the night before...  Like most newer cabinetry, these have laminate interiors, and the water was eating away at the laminate, after  sitting there for hours.  Not impressed with these guys.  I'll be installing the hose myself, with the help of YouTube.

The search for house maintenance professionals is so overwhelming.  Going off internet searches I requested a quote from Mauro's.  I cannot recommend them highly enough.  They were on time, came with in 2 days of my call, talked me out of the more expensive repair that I thought that I needed, added in a repair on an additional project while they were here and spoke to me like I was an intelligent human being.  The specific plumber who came out was named Willy.  I will definitely skip the internet search the next time I need a plumber and will call Mauro's directly.

Had a great experience with Mauro and his team! Amy was very helpful on the phone. Mauro came out to look at my water heater and didn't even charge me for that! Unfortunately the whole water heater needed to be changed, but Mauro and his team came back out just a few days later and replaced the whole thing with no issues. The one star is for the scheduling and prompt visit at the scheduled appointment time.

However, I cannot say that I was impressed.  I had a leak, which had been previously identified by a leak detection company to be located at the 90 degree elbow right before the shut off valve to the house, after the water meter.  Oly, who was the assigned plumber for my appointment, took a look at the issue and immediately diagnosed it as a leak within the plumbing in my slab foundation.  I tried to explain to him up front about the leak detection findings, but he didn't seem to listen and quickly concluded that I was out of luck and that I would probably need to call my insurance citing the issue as something very major.  He even turned off the shut off valve, looked at the water meter and said he knew it was a leak in the foundation because he could see the meter still spinning.  

After he left, I thought to myself, his assessment doesn't make any sense.  If you shut off the valve to the house and the meter still spins, that means the leak has to be between the meter and the valve, and not somewhere in the foundation AFTER the shut off valve.  I'm no plumber, but that seems to be a little bit of common sense.  And if the professional conclusion after the mentioned diagnosis is exemplary of the work done, then this all might be for my own good to not have proceeded any farther.  

Anyway, I called another respected local plumbing company, had them over within an hour to diagnose the issue.  Guess what?  Their findings were exactly as the leak detection report suggested - the leak was from the 90 degree elbow right before the shut off valve.  They had the issue identified, fixed and the water back on in the same day.

Don't get me wrong, I think Oly had good intentions here.  But truly, all his diagnosis did was to put me in a place of unwarranted alarm.  Though I thought it through after he left and was able to avoid making a claim to my insurance after some thought, I can only imagine what this reaction could have caused another customer to do next.  I'm sure this company has done great work for others, but in my own experience, I cannot say that the diagnosis was well thought out, nor was the issue given anything more than 10 minutes for a proper diagnosis.  All in all, I think we both could've avoided wasting each other's time.  Especially given the fact that I had scheduled this appt two days prior and chose to wait due to the high reviews this company has.

Excellent work from Oly.  He really knows his stuff and inspires confidence!  I felt I was in good hands.  20 feet of galvanized clogged pipe was replaced with copper pipe.  Two kitchen faucets were replaced.  I finally have hot water and good hot water glow in kitchen.  It feels like a new kitchen with updated faucets.  I love the touch sensor that can turn it off and on with just a tap on the faucet.  Some are touchless.

These guys know their business and very professional!!! I have worked with a few other plumbers that were mediocre and never solved my problem, but Mauro's is simply the best and solved my issue. I had a blockage in my mainline. They analyzed the situation/ problem to see the best way to solve it and explain to you what is going on, so learned a few helpful things as well. The rock retaining wall on my daughter's Kensington house finally put enough pressure on an old house supply pipe that it sprang a leak at a joint.  It was a Saturday so my choices were limited.  I ended up getting big chain company out, but they showed up without parts to fix an iron pipe, and gave me an exorbitant price to replace the whole line.  I ended up fixing the leak temporarily with a strip of inner tube.  Based on Yelp reviews I called Mauro's Plumbing.  They sent out Jose and another plumber who looked at the line replacement and said not a problem.  The job looked big to me:  tunnel under sidewalk, tunnel under rock retaining wall, trench up the hill, under walkway and another rock wall to the house.  Their bid was very reasonable and we set up a date.  That day I came by at 10 am and they had already gone under the sidewalk and wall.  I came back at 3:30 and they were just finishing hooking up the new copper line.  They also installed a T and 2 valves at no extra cost. Later that afternoon they filled in all the diggings so well that my daughter didn't even notice that the yard had been dug up - it looked the same as before.  I give them 10 stars.  They are competent, hard working and really nice people.  Will hire them again.

Mauro's Plumbing came and installed a new gas line for our house. We had a gas line break and not up to code so we looked around and found Mauro's. He and his guys were able to make a appointment with us sooner than other companies, they ended up having a competitive/reasonable price for the job. We had a little miscommunication with them as far as permits, PGE, and timeline, but other than that they did a good job and we had hot water and a heater again.

Mauro's has done a lot of work in our 100 year old house, and every time they are efficient, pleasant and reasonable in cost.  I just realized that I sound like Belle M. from six weeks ago.  Not related!

Oly (or Ally), the plumber, just unclogged a bathroom sink that was clogged beyond the U-joint (I had even tried a snake), changed the drain pipe and replaced faucet washers.  It was dry and clean under the sink when they left.  

Oh -- Amy at their office is friendly and efficient.  I really like this company.

Mauro and his staff are very friendly and they do great work: clean, professional and in a timely manner.  It is hard to find a qualified and licensed plumber who knows how to replace gas lines.  Not to mention, Amy in the office is organized and responds pretty quickly to any questions you may have with bids and scheduling.  

First Mauro came for a free estimate, he was very knowledgable about pipes and how the work should be done per the county code.  He gave me an outline of what the job would entail and gave me some options to reduce labor/prep work.

2 gas lines needed to be replaced and the HOA company was 3x the cost, Mauro and his helper came on time, only purchased the best parts to code for inspection and installed.  After installation, he checked 3 times to ensure everything was sealed properly with a soap test.

He also called to make sure I passed inspection and that I was satisfied in the work done.  Paying with credit over the phone is convenient as well!

It's hard to find good, honest local experts...  I recommend you add him to your speed dial now!

Plumbing problem with our old Berkeley house. Another plumber quoted almost $1000 to deal with a shower flow issue. Their plan was to back flush the pipes. Oly from Mauro's came, quickly diagnosed the problem as a stopped up shower head, and replaced it with one from his truck. Also fixed a wobbly toilet. All done quickly and for a reasonable price.

A tiny bright spot in a messy and expensive situation: from start to finish, a warm, efficient and professional experience. Oly came, he diagnosed, he drove to Grohe supplier, and he conquered. I hope I never have to use Mauro's again, because frankly it's a total bummer dealing with a leak like this, but if I ever need a plumber, I'll have Mauro's on speed dial--and I would be happy to see Oly again, just because he's a really nice guy who really knows what he's doing.

Unfortunately, I have some experience with plumbers in the Berkeley area (see my other Yelp reviews on this topic). Mauro's was among my best experiences. They were able to come to my house the next day, gave me a ONE HOUR time window for arrival, arrived ON TIME, and was reasonably priced (yes, $150 is reasonable in the Bay Area)! They knew what they were doing, got it done, and went on their way. Best possible outcome.

Long story short, Mauro and Mohammad showed up in my house, spent 3 hours (not a minute less) found out the problem with the camera, ran the snake at least 8 times to clear out the blockage (double checked with camera). And charged me only for the camera and refused my tip. Then gave me a DVD record free of charge ( the first movie of my house, LOL)

They are simply awesome.

Btw, I am in the planning/architecture business and have basic knowledge of the pipes, the problems I had in the house was not simple, it take skills to deal with.

Mauro was available at short notice, even just before holidays. They were willing to work on Saturday, were competent and had reasonable prices. We had a leak in the gas line, they found it right away and fixed it in little time. They also checked all the other connections in the gas line to make sure there were no other leaks. This review is long overdue. Mauro's plumbing has helped me twice now :) I recently bought a house and realized the water heater was not working. Before going for any repairs, I typically get three quotes. First two plumbers told me that I need to change water heater. That was a shock for me since the house inspection had the water heater in a perfect condition. My third plumber was Mauro. He came to inspect and told me something is off. 10 Minutes later he told me that someone had bumped in the gas line outside the house and turned that off. So there was nothing wrong with my water heater! He did not charge anything for the visit either. I felt stupid for not knowing there was something that turns off the gas and could have caused it but I am so glad Mauro was kind enough to show me the system for future reference.
I was just helped by Oly from Mauro's plumbing this time. My water heater drain valve was leaking. One of the other plumber mentioned adding hose bib cap. I didn't want a temporary fix, so I checked to see if someone from Mauro's can come to help. One of Mauro's plumbers, Oly changed the faucet and charged me less than any other quotes I had received. I am pretty sure I can trust Mauro's for any future plumbing issues.

WOW!  This guy is AWESOME!  He is Honest and Sincere, just as much as he is handsome!  Mauro and his assistant replaced a hot water heater in a rental property I own.  They were professional and did a wonderful job -even shared maintenance tips.

The same day, he pointed out a BREAK IN THE MAIN sewer outlet pipe (he stated his nose doesn't lie).  And sure enough, several feel under the dirt, there was a large crack with putrid gray water seeping into a hole right beneath my foundation -a muddy mess!   He repaired it all, same day!

EBMUD called me at 11pm to say my water main was leaking. I had to get a plumber out first thing in the morning! Called several local plumbers and Mauro called us back within 30 minutes. They came right out and fixed our break by noon!!!!

Called and spoke to any to schedule a visit from a plumber. I asked for a next day service and she called the plumbers and made arrangements to accommodate me.  She further said but hold on I win speak to Mauro and maybe he can help otherwise.  Sure as day, Mauro called me and isn't ducted me to do something with my garbage disposal unit to fix what he believed was broken and it fixed the situation with ni need for a plumber.  He is very honest and so are his employees.  Furthermore. They went above and beyond and called me late that evening. Confirm that the issue was resolved and to assure me hey we re available in case we needed anything else.  Definitely using them for any plumbing needs.

Best reliable, honest, and efficient person we have ever met.... He came to our house to unclog a drain in the bathroom ... Before that my husband tried to fix the problem himself but couldn't and I call Mauro and he got to our house even before his schedule time wish we really appreciate and got to work right away ... He told my husband that whatever he had done  before him had clear the clog and that we didn't need to pay him but that if we wanted to ensure that everything was clear he could run his tools thru the drain and we opted to to that, have him check everything and on top of that he installed the toilet my husband had removed the day before....I really recommend him.... Today is January 9, 2016!  He fixed our plumbing issues with a smile.
We have a townhome which has 4 bathrooms. We've been here 12 years and slowly the plumbing finally couldn't take it no more! First the master bedroom shower stopped working so we procrastinated and started using the second bathroom (mines!) with the shower and tub. Then the hot water stopped in that shower/tub....second level powder room is fine, but the kitchen pipes got clogged so we used the powder room to wash dishes!!!! We've been using the first floor shower, the only shower with hot water out of three! Sooooo scared to call a plumber until our $$$ ship would sail in. Well, I first called a plumbing company in Alameda that wanted $75 for just a look-see visit and estimate. Looked at their Yelp reviews....terrible with several apologies from the owner...fishy fishy. Red lights went BLING BLING! Right below was Mauro's Plumbing. Called for the appt, it was set for today...we were soooo nervous about the price. My husband sent me to the ATM to be prepared for the worst. HE FIXED EVERYTHING FOR $175.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUITO OBRIBGADO MAURO! We were soooooo pleased. He was a nice guy, respectful, got right to work and now I can use my tub to soak in! I can kick my husband out of my bathroom....LIFE IS GOOD!  Thank you so much Mauro....We will definitely recommend him to anyone. It is rare when you want to pay more, but with this guy, you want too!!!

We had a 3 year old GE Water Heater go out. After calling another plumber that wouldn't work on any GE product, Home Depot, which sold us the GE and being directed to a sub contractor that told me to call GE, I found Mauro's. Amy walked me through my options, we decided on a game plan, scheduled a plumber to come out that day. Mauro, himself, came over and fixed the problem in 20 minutes! The cost for the visit was so reasonable I almost feel guilty. Great job and hot water!

Mauro came on a Friday morning, after 20-30 minutes contacting his office manager.

I'd give him 10 stars if I could.  

I called yesterday after my home warranty program let me down big time.  Kitchen sink is backed up and draining into the dishwasher so that neither works. Amy was super helpful on the phone and set me up with an appointment today.  I called in at probably 5:55p and she was as friendly as if I was the first call of the day.  Mauro came today, a little late, but Amy texted me to let me know ahead of time.  Mauro walked in was friendly, funny and ready to help.  He easily fixed the problem and went the extra mile to help with a few other random things we needed help with like adjusting the faucet fixture, securing the dishwasher (not previously screwed in) and answering any questions we had.  He even noticed a loose cabinet door on his way out and tightened the screws for us since he had his drill out.

Amazing service all around and a great fix to our problem at a reasonable cost.  I would recommend Mauro's Plumbing to anyone-100%.  While I hope I won't be having any further plumbing problems in the future, I will definitely call Mauro's again.

Wow! Our kitchen sink started dripping this morning and then water was gushing out of the cabinet below. I had no idea what to do. I called a few well known plumbers, none of which had an opening today. I had seen good reviews of Mauro's on Next Door so I decided to give them a try. They returned my call promptly and said they could come in the afternoon. A bit later they called back and had an opening in just an hour or so, even better. When Muhammed and his assistant arrived, they were extremely polite, worked efficiently, and had the problem solved in no time. What a great experience-- Mauro's is my go-to plumber from here on out!

This is the third time we've used Mauro's services and we've been more than happy.  With Amy coordinating and Mauro on the job they make a great team.  We had a situation that occurred last night where we had to shot down our water supply from the street.  Being desperate, I called and left a message at 10:00 at night.  Promptly after they opened, I received a call from Amy saying they were booked solid but that he would make room.  A little while later we Mauro completed the repair and we were back in action.. Mauro's plumbing stands behind their work:
I called Mauro's Plumbing to fix a leak in the drain pipes of our kitchen sink. This required cutting into the wall to expose the leaking pipes behind the sink, and working under the house with the pipes passing though the sub-floor. The original technician that was sent out was a bit new and didn't forecast some of the upcoming problems in his estimate. The job got a bit bigger than what he had thought. Although the work that the technician did on the pipe repair was quality work, there was some collateral damage that needed to be taken care of. Due to the technician's poor communication skills and lack of compromise, things took a turn for the worse and we could not reach resolve. The technician gathered his tools and left in a huff. I immediately called Amy at headquarters and explained the situation. The next working day Mauro himself was at my door to see what happened. 48 hours later Mauro and his team showed up and started fixing any collateral damage that had been done, as well as assessing the pipe repair that was done to make sure it was up to standard. When all was said and done, all collateral damage had been brought back to pristine condition, all work done had been done correctly and professionally, and this was all done at an incredibly affordable price. Although we got off to a rough start, I would highly recommend Mauro's Plumbing. They stand behind their work!!

Wow! A plumber who is ON TIME, courteous, AFFORDABLE!!!! Win WIN! There have been many times in the past I have needed a plumber for a quick job, and they all came up a little short. The fellows at Mauro's made my life simple. Like many of us, I had to schedule my work around their showing up, and they showed ahead of schedule! I'm so glad I found Mauro's Plumbing! We needed a pretty urgent repair on a leaky/nonfunctional shower, and we got an appt next day (which was impressive on its own, but more so since other plumbing companies I called didn't even answer their phone). Oly was on time for our appt and efficiently diagnosed the problem. While it turned into a bigger (and more expensive) job than we anticipated, Mauro's pricing was competitive and they were so easy to work with. Amy always promptly got back to me with answers to my questions, they worked around our schedule for the repairs, and were professional and reliable. I had an additional plumbing need on a Sunday afternoon and even though they weren't open, I left a message and got a call back first thing Monday morning. In both instances, they gave me a few options for the repairs and I never felt pressured into choosing one or the other. I would definitely use them again!

My garbage disposal didn't work. And Mauro was all booked for the week, but said that he could squeeze me in the morning.

I described my problem; Mauro provided over the phone support. He told me about the reset button on the garbage disposal and if that doesn't work he could send someone out. It didn't work.

Amy gave me a cost estimate for their service. The plumber tried to fix it, but after the inspection, he concluded that the unit needed to be replaced. He called and sought approval before proceeding.

Mauro is honest and helpful. And his team was communicative.

Excellent service! Mauro's Plumbing has been so good to us. They've repaired out bathroom sink and fixed an easy problem with the shower that took another company hours upon hours to look into. Sometimes you only have one day to get things done. Today was that day for me. My tenants had a mighty bathroom clog, and I needed someone to come take care of it.

Oly with Mauro's was here today. He was skilled, efficient and energetic, a quality I appreciate when paying by the hour! Loved that I could call and speak with a person at the office directly. Amy was helpful in scheduling an appointment. She even called in advance to let me know that Oly was on his way. Starting off right, he arrived and removed his shoes before entering the house. He quickly got to work installing our new Grohe faucet. Who knew that not everyone can install these babies, as they're so complicated (but beautiful)! He gets extra credit for his creativity in installing the faucet (and disposal air switch) when things didn't quite fit like they should. So happy with the results.

I called to have someone come to check the drain of my kitchen sink.  Someone was here within 20 minutes to look it over.  An hour later: the job, which included replacement of all the drain pipes, was complete.  I haven't been this satisfied in a long, long, LONG time.  I can't recommend Mauro's Plumbing high enough.

Mauro, my hero!

Had a plugged shower drain and a mysterious overflowing toilet in the spare bathroom. Thought the two might be related, but they were not and Mauro couldn't figure out what was wrong with the toilet. A little disappointing, but it wasn't the cause for my call, the unusable shower was.

He tried snaking the shower drain from the shower itself, but the clog was too far down the trap and he couldn't get a proper angle on it. He came back the next day with a ladder and snaked that clog right on out through the vent on the roof. There's a 2 month warranty on his work and the drain works perfectly. Turns out it was a buildup of rust and minerals, which is why my attempts with Dran-O and more hardcore cleaners didn't work.

I thought I would be charged more than the base quote of $108, because he needed to deal with this over the course of 2 days, but nope! $108 it was. Another plumber I had called wanted to charge $250 for the first hour and $250 for each hour after that... NOPE. So very happy with Mauro and will absolutely call again if more trouble arrises.

Best plumber in the Bay Area! Courteous, responsive, and very professional, Mauro was a delight to work with. We are nearing completion of a major renovation that included all new plumbing in a 1925 Craftsman. When we first encountered Mauro (and his 5 star reviews), we needed to have some emergency work done in a bathroom. He was there in a flash and finished the job that day! Needless to say, we engaged him to work on the remaining plumbing needs as well. His assistant speaks very little English, but that did not prevent us from being able to communicate our needs. Each job was done on time, on budget, and without rework.  The extra benefit? We feel that we have established a friendship with Mauro and Amy in the process as well!

OMG! I agree with the others. This guy is AWESOME!!!! We were so expecting an expensive, depressing experience. But I'm happy to say the opposite. Mauro came when he said he would - on a Saturday. He took care of replacing a thermal coupler on our water heater, fixed a broken pipe under our one story house and cleared out blockage in our pipes. All in one hour. He used his time efficiently and was nice to be around. The pricing left us with a grin on our faces, as we were expecting so much worse. Will be recommending him to everyone I see. A+ indeed.

Yes, I'm a little late on this review, better now than never:
Maura is the best plumber I have ever had bar none. Why after another contractor did unnessary work pulling out all the plumbing in the walls and sewer draining pipes underground, which were OK. He (the contractor) was suppose to work in my kitchen, not my bathroom, but he broke one of the toilet water lines  which were OK so he said you need to upgrade you old piping. I said just fix the line you broke and get back to the kitchen where I needed work, not my good working bathroom. He instead tore all wall piping and sewer piping out, deadlining a perfectly good bathroom!! I immediately fired him and started looking for a good plumber to fix what he destroyed. Quotes came in from $1500-20,000. That's when I found Mauro. I'd previously asked the Contractor if he pulled a license. He said you don't need a license for that, but said he would get one. After I check the city of Richmond the inspector said no license was pulled and fined me $481  plus another $250 for a regular license.
In short, Mauro came to the rescue and fixed every thing and turned me on to another contractor that redid my whole bathroom as well.
Mauro and Amy...I don't forget what a beautiful job you  guys did. And I will be asking you to up date my plumbing in my shower and fixtures for washer and dryer in the future. I had a issue with a the kitchen faucet . Went to on yelp and found his contact number.  Sunday afternoon you would think they will charge over time fee and drive time etc etc. But nice lady who answer my call I got me  free estimate and 10 % discount if I went  ahand  have them fix the problem. Guy fix the issue within 30 sec.  He knew what the problem was just by turning on and turning off the water.  Experienced professionals and did not charge me penny.  Didn't even charge for a his gas for showing up at my house on Sunday.  You wouldn't go wrong choosing them for your plumbing needs. Called Mauro's first thing in the morning after discovering holes in the kitchen sink pipes. The woman on the phone was very pleasant and helped get someone out to fix my issue asap.  Mauro was at my house within an hour to fix the issue! I was back using my sink in no time. Great work! We had an emergency on a Sunday. Bathtub and toilet flooded over out of nothing and we didn´t know what to do. We called Mauro´s Plumbing and they arrived in less than 20 mins. Mauro took one look, and knew what to do. 15 mins later the problem was solved. During the last rainy season Mauro urgently installed a temporary sump pump when I had water leaking into my downstairs from the hillside under our home.  I also had him fix a leaking pipe in a tight spot inside the wall which I found by chance while doing some remodeling.  Mauro also installed a sink for me.  

* Very Professional - knows his stuff.

* On time or Amy will keep you updated if he's running late

Mauro came recommended as a great, honest plumber by a dear friend of mine. Well that's what I got and that is what I recommend for you. Amy is always by the phone ready to provide great customer service and Mauro isn't far behind ready to take good care of you and your house for a good, honest price.

Well, sometimes friends are more reliable than online stars would suggest. Mauro is the best and I have tried others. So why didn't he come up higher than Albert Nahman Plumbing & Heating who estimated my work at five times what Mauro charges with less than half the service? I had to wait a week for the highly rated Albert Nahman Plumber to come and do nothing but give me a whopper estimate. Called Pelican and scheduled them to come out a week later. Pat O'Niel still hasn't called back three days later, and I'll never call Michael Your Plumber again. So when I called Mauro on a Sunday and he said he'd swing by in an hour, I was overjoyed. When he charged me $108 to clear the drain that Albert Nahman said couldn't be done I was flabbergasted. When Mauro quoted $700 to replace my 2 line I was dumbfounded. I told him Albert Nahman had quoted over $3K to do the same work (It was really $3950 but I didn't see the quote until later) and so he could have charged me $2k and I'd have jumped for joy. Talk about honest. Talk about service. But don't forget to talk about Mauro when you do.

I will definitely be using Mauro from now on!

Had a great experience with Mauro's Plumbing. Normally if something small came up, my wife and I would try take care of it ourselves. But with the relatively new development of parenting our twin infants, our time and energy is fairly limited. Called and spoke with Amy about a leak in our kitchen sink and Muhammed and Miguel came over the next day. They came within the appointment window, worked quickly and efficiently, and explained the issue and causes to me. When a quasi related issue came up that night, I called and spoke with Amy again the next day. Muhammed came over very quickly, took care of it, and was back on his way. No need to look further ... Reliable, High Integrity and Fairly Priced.

Amazing journey on Yelp concerning the high ratings/plumber options this week. Mauro's came through with flying colors while others failed miserably.

Long review, but worth reading if you don't want to get taken for a long ride.

I received an emergency call from a tenant who stated that the downstairs plumbing was backing up. The system utilizes a ejector pump due to it's below street level location. In addition, the tenant stated that the pilot light kept on shutting off on the water heater. Two issues that needed immediate attention. Note that the property is a fairly high end rental and all mechanicals are serviced regularly and were in fine working condition prior to call.

The FIRST available plumber called off of Yelp (located in Berkeley, top reviews, Angie's list service award winner) came out for a diagnostic. I'm located 3,000 miles away/East Coast and had asked that they call with findings. The technician called and said the ejector pump was out and that relay switched was not working. He quotes a price of $1500 - $1700 and mentioned that the tenant was going on a trip tomorrow and wanted the system fixed. He indicated that he needed to hear back within 1 hour so he could order the pump and schedule the job for the next day. I called him back to inquire what exactly he did to determine the issue? Did he remove the in ground tank cover to inspect the pump for clogs or blockages = NO = he mentioned that the screws holding the tank lid were rusted and that he couldn't/wouldn't take off unless they were going to do the whole job? WTF? The metal tank is literally a sealed cylinder that conceals the ejector pump. The shower, sink and toilet drains run into the tank and the pump moves the waste up a pipe to sewer main - level. How the heck can you determine that the pump is bad without looking at it? I told him I couldn't possibly commit without getting a second opinion. With regards to the Water Heater, he mentioned that he could clean out the pan incl up to heater core for $120, but couldn't guarantee that would fix the problem ... i would most likely need a new water heater priced at $1700 for a standard 40 gallon install. Soooo that's a cool $3500 or so if I would have authorized a fix in a panic.

I was able to immediately get owner Chris's Plumbing /drain clean out up there afterwards for a second assessment. While Chris doesn't handle this type of repair ( I believe he focuses solely on clean outs), he comes highly recommended and I can say he's a true pro who is also extremely reliable, honest and fairly priced. I received a call from Chris shortly after his arrival ... who informed me that the system is fine and that the issue was that the EJECTOR PUMP WAS NOT PLUGGED IN! Chris appropriately removed the tank cover to check and ensure that no blockages were present and that the pump was functioning properly. He also ran the washing machine  to check back pressure and all lines to ensure the system was OK. Perhaps the tenant or guest mistakenly removed the plug, however I can't understand how the first plumber could not possibly notice as the plug is located directly above the tank/pump. Ejector problem solved and I was thankfully not fleeced out of $1700!!!

Now the water heater issue. I called 5 other highly rated plumbers off of Yelp. All insisted that I needed a new water heater (before even checking out the current situation), again to the tune of $1400 - $2000 estimates.

NEXT call was Mauro's. First question they asked was is the water heater leaking? = NO. Mauro's suggested that I may not need a new water heater and that many times when the tank is not leaking and the pilot keep on shutting off, the issue may simply be that a new thermo coupler is needed. Mauro's sent someone out the next day to test the thermo coupler as first step. Sure enough, thermo coupler was the issue. Can't understand why the first plumber was more than happy top perform a clean out for $120 as opposed to checking the thermo coupler and replacing ... the replacement part and service cost less than $120 with Mauro's. $1600 saved.

I need to preface this scenario by mentioning that it may ultimately be necessary to  replace the water heater. The thermo coupler may be a temp fix. I will know if the unit reverts back to shutting off in the near future. Point is that Mauro HAD THE INTEGRITY TO ASSESS THE SITUATION and recommend a drastically less expensive option as first round of defense (the current tank is not leaking - is a high quality tank purchased from a plumbing supply house - was regularly serviced and has functioned flawlessly up to this point).

It's nice to have a Honest Professional plumbers (Mauro's AND Chris's) in your back pocket. I wouldn't think of having anyone else tackle future needs.

Kitchen sink had a spectacular back-up problem...flung water out of the sink once the disposal was turned on. After husband changed P-trap and found nothing there, we needed a pro.  Called Mauro's Plumbing on Sunday and he was able to come out within the hour. Hooray! Very professional and personable, as was the person who answered the phone. Got estimate on the phone and that was indeed  the charge.  Mauro was done quickly and did not leave a mess. The charge was so reasonable we will have  him back for stuff that husband can do :)  Considering how handy my honey is, that is worth ten stars.

Mauro's Plumbing is the one to call if you want prompt, responsive, and professional service. I called them on three different occasions recently, and they addressed each problem to my complete satisfaction. On the most recent occasion, I discovered that the old galvanized pipe serving our main hose bib had sprung a leak just above the ground. It was 4:30 pm on a Friday afternoon when I called Mauro's, and Mauro himself showed up here with a worker at 11 am Saturday morning, on the coldest day of the year, just before Christmas week. Within an hour and a half, they had replaced the failed pipe section with copper pipe and brass couplings. The price was very fair.

I called Mauro's Plumbing because my tenant told me that the toilet was leaking and Mauro was able to come out that same day to take a look at it. He was on time, friendly, and very conscientious.

He quickly determined that the problem wasn't the toilet, it was the shower and there wasn't anything to fix other than installing a splash guard to stop the water from spraying out of the shower. He spent 15 minutes making sure and didn't charge me for the visit. I offered to pay him for his time because I knew he could have been serving another client and he said that he didn't want to get paid unless he did actual work. What a good guy. I've had many other plumbers and repair people come out to troubleshoot different things and they charge for the service call even if they don't do anything.

I'm happy to have a plumber that I trust for future use. I think the only reason his plumbing business doesn't have hundreds of five star reviews is because he just started his own business after working for someone else as a plumber for 20 years.

Fantastic service!!!!! We couldn't be happier with everything about our experience! We have a 3-4 year old water heater that just quit lighting over the weekend. Michael from Mauro's answered our request for a quote right away on Sunday evening, and then called us Monday morning to see when we wanted to schedule an appointment.  He quoted us a price of $140 to replace the thermal coupler, and he turned out to be right about the problem, and his quote is exactly what we were charged. The team that came to the house, Mohammed and Arafat, were right on time, friendly, professional, and did a perfect job. They were even patient with all my questions! I plan to call them next time and every time we have any plumbing or gas appliance issues. They couldn't have been better!
And I have to add that I read thru all the Yelp reviews for plumbers in our area that work on water heaters. We contacted five companies that all had perfect 5 star reviews.  Well, Mauro's was the only one that came through for us!! One company did call back to say they no longer do anything but sewer lateral repairs, even though their ad and reviews say otherwise. And we never did hear back from the other 3 companies!

I highly recommend Mauro's services.  He and his assistant had to come out to our house twice for a problem that was connected to our sewer line.  We found out that we have to contend with the bigger issue of a sewer lateral replacement (darn those clay pipes!), but Mauro gave us some sound advice and was able to get our plumbing temporarily running until we get the big job done.  Service was great and Amy was a pleasure to work with.  She always kept us apprised of their timing.

Mauro helped us fix a shoddy sink installation done by a handyman. He worked fast and efficiently and his rate was very reasonable. After he was done he adjusted our shower head and water pressure at no additional charge. He's a consummate professional and skilled at what he does.

I had a bad leak in my hot water pipe as well as a clogged drain; I called Mauro's and the friendly and helpful person on the phone sent out Oly.   He turned off the water to the kitchen for a temporary fix, then came back out and fixed the pipe.   It was not an easy job, he had to go through the kitchen wall, but did an outstanding job.   I have my kitchen sink back and a working drain, call me one happy camper.   Great job, Oly, thank you!!!

Mauro did a great job! My basement sink overflowed with brown water and flooded the basement. Mauro showed up 30 minutes after I called and fixed the big problem within an hour. While he was here he also fixed a running toilet, a slow sink drain and a drippy faucet. Total damage, just over $100.

We had a clogged sewer line preventing our tenant's toilet and shower from draining (so they couldn't use either).  We called a number of places that weren't able to fit us in until the next week, and initially Mauro's Plumbing said they had a full schedule as well.  When Amy heard our issue, she said she would try to find some room for us, and she did!  It was a huge relief to have it scheduled for that same day.  Oly came out that evening to fix it and he was great. Fast, efficient, professional - he clearly knew what he was doing and dealt with navigating the crowded crawlspace with ease.  He was in and out within an hour, fixed everything, and the price was very reasonable.  We had had another plumber come out two months ago to fix the same problem, but he snaked from the toilet to the drain, whereas Oly went all the way back to the pipes under the kitchen to get the clog out from farther back.  I think this fix is going to last much longer (and it came with a 2 month guarantee!) AND it was less expensive than the original fix.  Highly recommend Mauro's Plumbing and will call them in the future if we have problems!

WoW! I called Mauro's Plumbing for the first time ever. at 3:13pm today. I spoke to Amy who understood my needs & was quick to assist.  By 3:48pm the thermocoupler in my water heater was replaced & Mauro was packing up his tools. 35 minutes. $115. That's all it took. I wonder if that is some kind of record -- shortest turn around time for fixing a water heater, perhaps? Sadly, I find that I am often in need of a plumber. Thankfully I have found Mauro. I have had my garage drain bubble up, my sidewalk sewer line replaced, shower drain snaked, my water heater replaced and numerous other issues that have been fixed by Mauro. Fast, Efficient, and Fair every time.  Having an old house in SF means you need a good plumber.

He recently did work for a friend of mine who was also pleased. She called me to ask if it was safe to leave Mauro in her house alone because she had to leave to pick up her children. Absolutely!

Fantastic service. I've had Mauro out for two jobs. The first involved replacing what I thought was a broken disposal, but he fixed the old one and told me how to maintain it. The second time was for help with my water heater. Mauro saw right away that the problem was something simple that I could fix myself, told me how, and didn't charge me a dime for his trouble. I hired Mauro to replace the gasket  and flange of a toilet (the toilet was loose) and to replace a 3rd floor bathtub gasket which was causing a leak through the 3rd floor ceiling to the 2nd floor.  Mauro came as scheduled and completed the work within the time frame.  Unfortunately the leak continued, however Mauro made himself available the next day to check it out again.  Turns out it was an issue with the hot water knob for the tub and he took care of it (without charging extra).  The cost was good for the quality of work.  He stood by his work, came back to solve the new problem quickly, and was easy to work with.  I respect that and will use him again for any plumbing issues.

Finally called Mauro's and Amy had technician (Ollie) come out within a couple of hours. I can't say how much I love Mauro and Amy. I have a rental house in San Pablo got a pipe clogged on Sunday. It's hard to find plumber works on Sunday but Mauro does. Amy picked up my phone and said they will go check it around 6pm because their schedule was quite full. They did it on time and helped fix the problem very quickly. The next day I was thinking about having Mauro run an full check on the pipe system so I called Mauro about my idea but he told me he did not seem to find any big issue with the pipe and it's not necessary to run a full check, plus they have 2 months warranty and I can give him a call within 2 months if there is any problem again and by that time he could run a camera check on the pipe, that way I can save the money.

What else can you say! This IS the service I am looking for.You guys are the best,  Mauro and Amy.

I have recently used Mauro's Plumbing in an issue I have had with my shower-head pipes that were not properly put together when the shower was being done last Sept. I called Mauro's plumbing while the head plumber was out of town and they sent their other plumber to see if he could diagnose the problem. They came and then after 2 hours of trying to see where the leak came and taking videos, they pinpointed it to the shower head the pipes just needed to be sealed (to my understanding). I scheduled the next day for them to come back a week later and they did. Since there was a lot of water from the leak, it needed to air dry for a couple days before they could put the sheet rock back on to call it a finished job. I will say up-to this point, everyone was so respectful and professional. They even took their shoes off before entering my home and kept their shoes off while in my home which is very much appreciated since I have carpet upstairs and on my stairs. However, the man who did the sheet rock (angelo), was not as professional and I was very unimpressed with him. I Will say, English was not his strong suit, which is fine as I dont really care as long as the work is done right. I made the appointment and he came on Monday (july13th) for 9am, which was perfect because it'd take up to 2hrs and I had to be at work at 12 in Berkeley which is only 10 minutes away. He had trouble finding me and came almost an hour late! When he did show-up, he looked and left my home for 30 minutes without telling me he was going to get supplies. He came back 30 minutes later and started around 10:30. He did patched them up with the first layer and sat in car all-while keeping me in the dark of what was going on. Unlike the other guys who came to work, they kept me in the loop the entire time. I had to go out of my house at 11:35 telling him I have to leave in 10 minutes and if he would be done. He seemed to get agitated at this remark saying he had at least another hour of work before it was done. I told him, i have to go to work and he will have to come back. He asked me when I would be home for that night so he could come back and finish. I told him Someone would be home at 6:30, as my boyfriend gets off of work at 4:00 but had a few things to do. He told me he would come back at that time tomorrow night, I told him you mean tonight because no one will be home tomorrow night at that time. He said yes i mean tonight. I had a feeling he did not completely understand. Which i was right to my surprise he never showed up. I got a text from Amy, the women who does the billing and scheduling and questions, whom is very kind and sweet, was double checking for the following day (July 14th) for him to come. When I told her that I told him it was not a good time as no one would be home, she said okay, what day would work for you. So, he came back on July 16th, in the morning, this time early, around 8:45 for a 9am appointment which was great for me either way. He came in and I greeted him, he was upset with me and starts to argue about that I told him the following day was an okay time to finish this job and that it should of been done that day. I told him, I said no, I said that evening on monday was fine, the following day, no one would be here, but your here now, let's finish it. He was very agitated, did all the work and left without letting me know he was done or that he was leaving. I finally figured out at 11am that his truck was gone and so was he. I dont know when he left but had my garage open for that long!! I have things like tools and what not that could be taken. I was not happy about this. I let Amy know and she adjusted my bill for this frusteration, which I am highly thankful for and did not expect that. I wish I could give this company 4.5 stars because that is what they deserve. They are so reasonable and everyone except one man I had came in contact with was super kind and professional. I would highly recommend them and for any plumbing issues that should arise, I will definitely call to use again.

I can't say enough good about Mauro's plumbing service.  We called the company he was affiliated with about 4 years ago and got great service then - I still had his phone number so this time when we had a serious clog that was backing up into the bathtub, I phoned him on a Sunday night - he answered the phone and came as soon as my husband could be home the following afternoon.  He put in a solid 45 minutes freeing the clog and the rate he charged was completely reasonable.  I agree with so much said by the other reviewers, especially that most of us brace ourselves to be soaked (yeah, pun) by a plumber and it's like with any tradesperson, when you find one who is honest, reasonable and trustworthy, it's really an unexpected pleasure.  Mauro is the best!

Obrigado!!!!  Got up to take a shower to find sewage all over the shower floor. GROSS!!  I called a few 24 hour prospects on yelp only not to get  a return call. I always pray and ask God to let me find someone I can trust. I saw Mauro's advertisement above the yelp list and called immediately. OMG!! someone answered. I was speechless not just because I lost my voice over three weeks ago and it still hasn't returned. Amy answered and said Mauro would be here within the hour. I think he was here in 20 min.  He used the snake a few times and it was cleared. He even clean the patio from all the waste  I wish he'd stayed to help with the shower :)  Hmmm who can I call for that?  Anyway, I am grateful that Mauro was sent my way. He seems to be a very friendly, efficient, trustworthy guy.

I had a clog toilet and I call around for pluming service and Mauro's was the most reasonable price. The customer service was great. Mauro's sent out a plumber and he tried to unclog the toilet with instrument he had, but need a machine that would go deeper. So he made a call to the office to inform them about the issue and they call another plumber of their's in the same area and he came with in 30 min with the heavy duty machine. First he vacuum all the stuff out of the toilet and took it off to get to the pipe. I watch this man work very hard trying to unclog  the pipe and it was so bad he had to get another heavy duty machine to try an unclog the pipe. After all of his hard work he could unclog the pipe.We came to the conclusion the it probably a broken pipe. So he said call the office for another appointment to inspect the pipes. After all of that work he said no charge he did  fix the problem. Other company would have charge me and I'm glad that I use Mauro's Plumbing. He told me I could check with some other company, but I told him no, I still want to use Mauro's, because I experience the hard work and going the extra mile to fix the problem. So I will be calling back to examine my pipe and give them the job. Thanks Mauro's, and I recommend to everyone.

I chose to call this plumber due to all the great Yelp reviews but I did not have the same experience as others.  My toilet was flushing very slow and I was worried something was stuck inside.  Mohammed and his helper came and tried to snake the toilet.  After about an hour, the toilet was flushing better but Mohammed said there was a piece of metal stuck in there somewhere and recommended I get a new toilet.  I agreed but told him I did not want to spend more then $150. on a new toilet as I was moving in a few weeks.  He showed up with a toilet that cost $200.  I told him I wanted the old toilet - that he could just leave it in the tub - as I was concerned that whatever the metal object he said was in there was something I might want.  Then his story started to change - maybe it wasn't metal, it could be something else...if I broke open that toilet to see what was in there - he could not take it away for trash - which I never asked him to do.  I asked if he could send me a copy of the receipt that showed how much he paid for the toilet and he said he would.  It is close to 2 months later and never got proof of what he paid.  The new toilet is nice and they did a nice job of installing it - but I don't trust what he said as he smirked at me whenever I asked questions and never did what he said he would do like send me the receipt.  I never met this Mauro guy and maybe I should have insisted on having him come as I feel that Mohammed took advantage of me.  I just wanted people to not get sucked in by all the positive reviews as I did.

Suddenly and without warning we needed a new toilet and turned to Mauro's Plumbing for assistance. Mauro arrived promptly and together with his assistant helped us with information that allowed us to choose the perfect new toilet which he picked up for us at Home Depot.  Not only was he courteous and helpful throughout the installation, his work was done efficiently and expertly.  We will be using him for all future plumbing needs.

It's Thursday night after a long day at work. Came home  to water and stuff coming up through the downstairs shower again. Those darn roots in the sewer line were at it again!!  Called the plumber  I've been using ...booked until Monday.  Called his referral, also booked!! He, in  turn, said Mauro's Plumbing had great reviews on Yelp. Called Mauro this morning, who responded immediately. I described my problem, was at my house within 30 minutes, took care of the problem with his assistant. Done!!  Courteous, on time, competent and price was absolutely reasonable. This is what service is supposed to be like. Fantastic...will refer to all my El Cerrito neighbors!!

As luck would have it, our only toilet became totally nonfunctional at about 9 pm on Christmas Eve.  We called Mauro's Plumbing and an actual human being answered the phone.  Mauro came by our house on his way home from a Christmas party, fixed our toilet quickly, and gave us a new customer discount.  He was very pleasant and professional.

Within 45 minutes of calling Mauro's Plumbing there was a plumber fixing my toilet. Turned out clog was in the pipe and not the commode so they simply removed the toilet and got to the clog that way. Took about 20 minutes in total and the price was very reasonable.

Mauro himself came to my home on short notice after the supervisor of the mold remediation company called him.  Mauro very quickly located multiple sources of leaking water, diagnosed why the leaks occurred, quickly completed the repairs, and did so in a way that the root cause of the cracked PVC pipes would not recur.  If I need a plumber in the future, my first call will be to Mauro's Plumbing.

It's been over a year since I've used Mauro's Plumbing but I would continue to be remiss if I did not share with others what a wonderful experience it was to work with them. I was replacing my bathroom sink and they helped me with every step during the process. From Amy's kind and considerate communication, to Mauro going out of his way to help, and then the professional, caring demeanor and workmanship of the on-sight plumber. They were honest in their communication, fair - even generous - with what they charged for their time and labor and cleaned up everything when they were finished. And they did it all in a timely fashion. For someone who was a bit nervous about finding an honest, reliable plumbing service and having a physical disability could not work on the plumbing issues myself, Mauro's Plumbing made for a comfortable experience. And my sink continues to function just fine. They obviously have my highest recommendation.

Mauro used to be with Alansi's Plumbing, I'm glad to find he has started his own business.  I always call Mauro for plumbing issues - leaky faucets, clogged sinks, installing dishwasher, water suddenly gushing out of old pipes (!).  He is a true problem-solver; efficient, informative, professional.  Communicates if the malady is isolated or if it's part of a larger deal - with an old house, that's helpful to know.  He's on time.  I love knowing exactly who to call for any plumbing issues.

Last Thursday, January 7, 2016, was my second time calling Mauro's Plumbing. The first time, earlier last year, he snaked our shower drain and we were impressed with how kind, timely and professional he was and how reasonable his rates were. Last Thursday at 3:45pm we discovered our laundry room floor drain had backed up. I called and Amy said she wasn't sure they could help since it was so late in the day. She called Mauro and called me right back to say he was running ahead of schedule that day and would be at my house between 4pm and 5pm. He was there in less than 30 minutes. Unfortunately, after trying to snake the line for some time he determined that our sewer lateral needed replacing immediately (we had an idea that that might be the case) and that he would not be able to clear the line. BUT, he didn't charge me anything since he wasn't able to clear it AND his prompt visit allowed me enough time to call a sewer guy that same day and have the sewer lateral replaced the next day. I will definitely be calling him again the next time we need plumbing help!

Mauro came the same day we called, which was a Saturday, and installed our new toilet and sink (with cabinet) in our newly remodeled half bath. He was on time, very kind and straight to the point. I liked that he assessed the situation quickly, ran to the local hardware store to get the parts that we needed, and addressed all of the tasks without a hitch. Mauro works quickly, but is willing to take a moment at any point in the project to explain what he's doing. He even came back the next day to fix a related, yet unrelated leak int the basement! We've found our new plumber and will call him for all future projects and emergencies.

My experience with Mauro was the best it could be considering what we had to deal with; a plugged up septic system! I had called another plumber who told me they would be there by 1pm. At 1:15 they called to say they were behind schedule and would be there in 45 minutes. 1 1/2 hours later I called Mauro since no one had shown up and my calls went to voice mail. I called Mauro and the receptionist was very nice; said she would get back to me to let me know if Mauro could come that day. within ten minutes she called and told me Mauro would be at my home between 5-6. He showed up promptly at 5 and quickly assessed the situation; it wasn't roots in the clean-out from the clean-out down the hill but roots in the drain between the house and the clean-out. He had to roto-rooter the shower and the toilet several times to be sure the line was clear. Not only did Mauro do a great job in an efficient manner but he is a delightful person to talk to. He told me about his daughter as well as his family in Brazil. I was delighted with his friendly disposition and clear understanding of how to get the job done without wasting his time and my  money. I would definitely recommend Mauro and will be sure to call him if this ever happens again.
