They don't keep up their appointments, this happened to me two times in a row. It is always about some emergency and they inform you 5 mins before your appointment window. So, if you have made arrangements to stay home for them to show up, I guess you're in for a surprise. It is purely inefficient planning as I have see similar reviews with same reason.

We had a major issue with the drain in women's locker room at the Northwest YMCA. Luis showed up within 20 minutes of us calling the Elite Rooter. It was easy to identify him as he had the company uniform and his name was printed on his sweater. Luis was well-prepared and professional. He did a thorough and clean job. We are so relieved he took care of us quickly and definitely will do business with him again if needed.

My husband trying to do a DIY project to replace the spout with diverter in the bathroom tub. In doing so he broke the faucet along with the piping inside the wall. At that point he didn't know what to do. He called Best Bay Plumbing and Russell the owner came out right away. He saw the problem and he cut open the wall and repaired the piping along with the faucet. He was very professional and he charged me a fair price. I am very pleased with his quality of work and I recommend his company.

We found Leo here on Yelp and so happy that we did. He's friendly, quick, efficient and best of all, honest! I had originally contacted him about some leaks that were reported through our home inspection. He came out on time and told me there was nothing to repair because the leaks have already been fixed (probably by the previous owner). :)
I contacted him again to install new toilets for us, and he made time for us the next day. He has great, affordable rates and I'm happy we found a great local plumber.

John was amazing on the phone and even tried to help me fix it on my own without a plumber! When I realized I really did need someone who knew what they were doing, I called him back and he was there the next morning. Fixed it. Friendly. Professional. Awesome. I highly recommend and will call again anytime I need a fantastic plumber!

Water heater pilot light would not stay on, made a call to fantastic and they had a tech there within an hour, they were able to diagnose and fix the problem within a few hours and at a very reasonable rate. Not only did they fix my issue but pointed out a potentially hazard cord I had wrapped around a vent. I will be using them for all my plumbing needs. Eduardo was our our tech and highly professional. Thank again!

John Wakefield saved the day! The entire innards of my toilet tank disintegrated, practically overnight. John replaced everything, including the inlet valve. (I thought it might take a re-pipe (very costly), but John rebuilt my toilet in an hour. The tank now fills in 30 seconds, instead of 3 minutes! He is pleasant, honest, respectful, and very detail oriented. I know that no one will see his work on the inside of my toilet tank, but, trust me, it's beautiful!

For years we've known we had a main sewer line problem in our backyard (our house was built in 1949 using Orangeburg pipe for the sewer line - not ideal) but we have lived with the inconveniences, including setting a timer after we started a load of laundry so we could stop the drain cycle of the washer before it overflowed. No way to live. Things came to a head three weeks ago when our shower was filling up with four inches of water and our washer wouldn't drain despite giving it extra time. So then I was faced with the dilemma of whom to call. I settled on Rooter Hero for two reasons: 1) the initial person I spoke with was nice and wasn't pushy, and 2) They said they would be willing to go on the roof if necessary to insert the motorized snake apparatus down the pipes. I feel like I hit the lottery with Rooter Hero. Pablo Diaz was the first person who came from Rooter Hero, and I liked him right away. Pablo is an incredibly hard worker, articulate, and considerate. He's someone you feel has your back. He got right to the business of snaking out our line (including removal of our toilet) and pulled out the largest root ball he'd ever run across. But we both knew it wasn't that easy. The snake wouldn't go all the way to the back of the yard where our sewer line met the city sewer connection. Pablo called for his manager, Sal Sandoval, to bring over the pipe camera. The camera was only able to go 3/4 of the way across our backyard plus there was a sh*%load of pooling water in our pipe), and we all knew that our piping system was shot. Sal outlined the different options and prices (which I feel were quite reasonable considering the scope of the work needing to be done), including the amazing trenchless technology, and I knew that my wife and I were going to have to bite the bullet and get an entirely new sewer pipe from the house to the city connection using the trenchless system. Much of our backyard is a deck made of pavers so to dig all of that up would have been costly and time-consuming. Yesterday, Pablo showed up in the morning with workers, Ruben and Rolando, and Sal also showed up to make sure the work was moving ahead as planned. They started the work of digging two holes, each about 3 ft. by 3 ft. and 6 ft. deep at either end of the back yard. In our case, they also had to dig a much larger hole of about 3 ft. by 8. ft. because a previous owner had re-routed the sewer line to get around a swimming pool that he had installed. The angle of that re-routed sewer was one of the sources of the problem and the reason that neither the snake nor the camera could get past that area. Once they exposed the existing sewer lines, which were in complete shambles as we expected, they called for Raul and Joe, the two trenchless specialists to begin pulling the remarkably flexible new sewer line under the ground using a hydraulic cable. The pipe comes in 20 foot sections, which are welded together on-site as appropriate. We needed 60 feet of pipe altogether. Jose, their permit guy, also showed up to take a video of the work to show the city. I should also say that before the trenchless work started, Pablo had to convince the city to let us go ahead with the work without the inspection because of the dire need to get our toilet services, etc. back working. Without Pablo's persuasiveness, my wife and I would have been waiting several days if not weeks to properly use our services. Pablo and his crew worked through lunch, and continued working until 7:30 p.m. to connect all the new piping. Pablo was determined to get everything working for us at least on a temporary basis before he left for the day. He did that, and it was a joy to take a shower without feeling like you were on the Titanic. This morning Pablo and his crew came back to finalize the hook-ups and get everything ready for the city inspector. Everyone with whom I came in contact at Rooter Hero was great, including Karen, who works in their office and discussed contract options with me. Pablo, Sal, Joe, Raul, Jose, Ruben, and Rolando were all fantastic workers and nice people too. I have no hesitation in recommending the San Jose office of Rooter Hero for any of your plumbing issues.

Mike Counsil Plumbing is running a scam.
On Wednesday 4/27 our concrete workers accidentally broke a pipe connected to sprinkler lines. We called Mike Counsil Plumbing(MCP) to come fix that pipe as we had to shut water off at the main. I wasn't home so they While there they talked my mother into getting a 12 thousand dollar new water line in place because they saw a leak at the main shut off.
While under the house for the pipe they claimed it stunk of sewage meaning the drains are bad. At the end of Wednesday they fixed a pipe, got us to sign the 12k contract for water line and promised to return the next day to inspect under the house. We trusted it, and a neighbor also had issues with water line so it sounded reasonable.
Thursday comes and two individuals from MCP show up, I'm assuming they are here to do the inspection. No they immediately tell me all the plumbing in my house is bad. I need new water lines, new drains quotes me 60 thousand dollars. I'm stunned I don't have that money, we haven't lived here that long how was this missed in an inspection, we remodeled with licensed contractors how can this be possible! They wanted me to sign so they can have people over today. They wanted me to sign a 60, grand contract on the spot. Several times the price dropped, when I mentioned our prior remodel, the already signed contract for water line, eventually dropping to 49 thousand an 11 thousand dollar discount which sounds great right.... So I called our contractor and told him what they told me, his advice was to not pay them or sign anything. He would reach out to plumber who worked on our house to come take a look.
Anyway Friday comes and our plumber comes over and actually has to fix another pipe the concrete guys hit. He looks at everything for the house. No issues with water lines, yes our drains are old but it's not urgent(later quoted me $2000) to redo those drains, and no sewer smell. He also looked at our water line, pointed out an obvious cut in the sidewalk where it was at least partially replaced. There was a leaky value which was later fixed when I called San Jose 311.
MCP charged me $1,700 for the repair they did
Other charged me $350
MCP quoted me $30,000 for drains
Other quoted $2,000
MCP quoted $30,000 for water pipes
MCP quoted $12,000 for water line replacement
Neither of these two were necessary
This is disgusting business practice preying on my elderly mother or the fact that I'm a dope who doesn't know about plumbing. I told the individual who came to my house that I thought he was scamming us and his response was that our reputation is too good for that. I'm calling their reputation out as utterly worthless. I called on Friday 4/29 to file a complaint I was told a field supervisor would be made aware of the concern. Also they made us come to them in person to cancel the $12,000 contract even after I accused them of a scam.
I urge people to never use Mike Counsil Plumbing not only because I don't want you to be ripped off, but so you do not inadvertently feed into an organization that will target their customers as victims.

Management is very rude, disrespectful, and dishonest. I will never use this company! I do not recommend this company. Call another company that is more professional and actually cares about people.
