I am delighted to write a positive review for David Moreno, a plumber who was able to successfully unplug our backed up sewer line. We had tried two other plumbers in the past, but they were unsuccessful in solving the problem. David, on the other hand, arrived on time, was very professional and able to explain the problem in clear terms.

David's expertise and dedication were evident from the moment he arrived. He quickly assessed the situation and got to work. He was extremely thorough and persistent in his efforts, and was able to resolve the issue much faster than we had anticipated. We were so impressed with his work that we didn't hesitate to recommend him to our friends and family.

In addition to his impressive technical skills, David was also very affordable. He provided a clear and honest breakdown of the costs involved, and we felt that he went above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied with his work. After 9pm toilet backup. Plunged to no end. Called a few plumbers, Rooter Hero called back at 9:30PM and said they'd be out in the morning. Came out and began the diagnostics. Determined via a camera that there was a blockage in the pipe between the house and street. Same wee camera told them where to dig.

Team dug up front yard, removed blockage, put in new pipe. Toilets once again! Boy is that a blessing taken for granted every day!

Inspector came out, gave approval. Team came back and put lawn back to gether EXACTLY how it looked before. Couldn't even tell we had the yard dug up...no sinking trench in the yard! Picture perfect.

Team members courteous and punctual. Gave us options for maximum repair, to middle repair, to minimal repair. Felt good to know we had choices and good choices at that.

Felt OVERWHELMINGLY SATISFIED, NEE THRILLED with team, service, and repair from start to finish.

I contacted Rooter Hero yesterday because of a water leak below the bottom edge of my toilet.

I first spoke with Gavin on their web site chat, who said I would receive confirmation of my request for service with a date and time they could send someone out - I requested that they call, text and email me, and that's what they did - all three methods.

I called their number and spoke to T to confirm that they had my correct physical address and phone number, and then heard from Cecilia to confirm my appointment for today during a 10:30 am-12:30 pm time window. On the day of my appointment, I received text, email and phone call from dispatch who said that Alex C. would be arriving between 12:45 and 1:30 pm, which he did.

When Alex first arrived, he confirmed with me that he had permission from the landlord (which I had received even though he was not home today) to undertake the necessary work, then removed the toilet from the floor and determined the source of the issue.

He left for about 30 minutes to buy a part that needed to be installed, then returned and completed his work.

I paid via credit card (I could have also paid by personal check, as I did for the prior visit by Juan (see previous review)), e-signed on his device, and received his business card with his personal number, so the landlord could call and speak with him about the work that was done.

I received an email from him with a PDF of the invoice for the work that I paid for, and two photos of the before and after of the site that needed repair. I will be forwarding these to my landlord for his files.

During the entire process, Alex was friendly, helpful, kind, and very clear in describing what he did. I will be requesting Alex for any future work if necessary and highly recommend that you ask for him as well.

I would also like to note that their truck said they do HVAC work, although I didn't need it. I'm sure everyone who contacts them will receive the same kind of outstanding customer service.

I rarely write reviews but happy to write one for David Moreno. Our plumbing gave up on us and everything had to be redone. David and his team worked so hard, including on weekends, during more than 7 days. They dug, they crawled and they had to get rid of 70 years+ of awfulness accumulated. They were extremely professional, courteous, and did an impeccable job. Highly recommend!

I had a leaking shower fixture. They fixed that ok. However then they tried to convince to replace the main water line. Hey it's been working for 30 years with no issue. If it is not broke why fix it? The bottom line is that they were trying to convince me to do an unneeded $3k repair. I asked for a breakdown of parts & labor. They refused to give me an itemized estimate. What a bunch of shysters.
I will never use this company again. There are many choices for plumbers. Buyer be aware. Dishonest company. Use someone else. There are other 1 star reviews that had worse experiences than me.

I hate backed-up toilets! I called a local plumber in Morgan Hill hoping the flushing problem was minor; the helpful young man suggested that I pour a 5 gallon bucket of water into one of 4 toilets to assess if it was draining properly ... it was NOT! Standing water almost overflowed again He then recommended a rotor service after I tried to use a snake to run thru the pipes. Enter Rotor Rooter who came within the hour from San Jose, and Roz (female) was briefed and initiated work on the outlet pipe exterior to the house. Reasonably priced with a 30-day guarantee (and much lower than I expected from a plumber). So far, so good after 2 weeks!

Absolute rip off. They charged about $75,000 total to fix our plumbing (the city's tree's roots are an issue on my street regarding this). After tearing up BOTH of our bathrooms and leaving our yard an absolute mess with their equipment, we finally received an itemized invoice from them after all was said and done.

They left the bathrooms torn up, so we had to pay for a complete remodel, which was overall cheaper than the $7,000 they charged to remove our 1 bathtub, WHICH THEY TOOK WITH THEM. They left their wheelbarrow and a pile of dirt, so I guess they think that was a fair trade?

Just don't do it.

When I called last night, the staff on the phone were super friendly. They were miraculously able to confirm a tech could come out today - Super Bowl Sunday.

It was a quick turnaround time and exactly as promised. I received a call this morning, earlier than they said, to follow up and let me know the tech was on his way before he was due between 10-12.

Adhemar showed up happily to assist me with my clogged drain. The quote was given up front and despite having to spend five hours at my house to complete a simple job, and even get a Field Manager, Tony, out to discuss next steps, the price remained the same.

Adhemar was very communicative and willing to explain everything to me along the way, so I knew what was happening at all times. Considering the delays due to unforeseen circumstances in the pipes under the house, Adhemar was extremely patient and very friendly! Tony was also helpful and upfront about the issues and explained possible solutions.

In addition to the exceptional customer service, the company is extremely reasonably priced as well.

Called Rooter Hero after we discovered water leaking into the wall from our tub. They arrived the next day to do the repair and convinced me along the way to switch out the tub fixtures. I was given a quote which ended being over twice the amount my insurance would cover. In their words, they could not reconcile the cost with the amount of work done / damage that needed to be repaired.

And when asked to provide documentation to support the amount, the plumbers gave me the run around. They promised to call me back multiple times and never did. The insurance agent sent multiple messages and emails, and was ignored constantly until I got involved. I was given promises that it would be taken care of but the issue is still unresolved at the current time.

To top it all off, the repair was faulty and it required multiple visits. We're 2 months into this now, and I'm still looking for closure.

Asked Rooter Hero Plumbing Bay Area East for a quote for replacing my 40 gallon water heater. Very simple project. A technician came in a few hours, inspected the heater and stated that he needs his supervisor to provide a quote. Supervisor came within an hour and gave a quote more than 3x of what other companies were quoting for the same heater model. Obviously I went with another honest company and they did a great job.

We had a clog in both of our showers and they would not drain. I hit up Rooter hero and they were able to get here within an hour and help us get this fix. I especially had a great experience with Edgar who was the plumber that came out. He worked fast and did a great job with explaining what happened and how to prevent it in the future. He was very knowledgeable and got in and out really fast. I really appreciate the great work and recommend this company to anyone who has plumbing issues

Our kitchen sink got clogged up so I searched online for someone to take care of it and found Rooter Hero. I'd seen their van(s) around town so I called them and made an appointment. Prior to showing up, they sent a text message with the person's photo who was going to show up. I'm sure that's a big plus for many people. I'll attach his photo to this review. :-) Dispatch in Southern California sent Jonathan Cena out.

There was an outside access point that he rooted all the way to the street and I assumed he was done but then came inside and used a smaller rooter to snake from the sink. He noticed our small drain leak and fixed it, no charge.

Jon was quite the gentleman, very polite and always concerned about the surroundings and clean-up. I told him you clean out the drain and I'll take care of the cleanup.

If/when I ever have any plumbing needs, I'll certainly call this company and ask for Jon. He was superb.

I called on the day of my appointment to confirm arrival and received an operator who assured me the plumber would reach out.
To make a long story short, I waited four hours in my home, and nobody called or dropped by.
With so many plumbers out there, don't waste your time with this company.

Jeronimo and David M. came to our home to provide an estimate for snaking a clogged kitchen sink and doing some other minor plumbing-related repairs. They offered to snake the sink clog for a very reasonable price so that we could use the sink again even while we were waiting on other estimates. They were very friendly and efficient. They also wore disposable booties inside the house.

Had a leak under my family's mobile home. It being a mobile home, the plumbing is above ground, no digging. Rooter Hero quoted my family $8k to fix the leak, and blockage causing the leak, by installing a clean out. Called a different company and they offered to cut a drain from an existing pipe, drain the blockage, and repair the pipe for at total of $700. Rooter hero's plumbers were overzealous about doing major work to fix a small problem.

1, The customer service staff is so professional and always available 24/7.They can patiently listen to me then dispatch technicians.

2, The technicians come on time.Wearing blue suits,dressing up as the same cartoon character on the company truck.

After they throughly check the pipe and sink, they point out the real problem and give a final and fair price.After they unclog the kitchen sink,they clean up everything.

3, They can focus on the job,get the job done in no time and move on to help more people. The technicians are fully trained with real skills.

These guys are terrible. Called for a snaking of the main line back in June, and dude showed up with (no joke) no cutter for the end of the snake.

Not surprisingly, clogged up again a few months later. Against my better judgment, used them to clear out the main line again. Spent 5 minutes poking through the clog, but three weeks later it's clogged again. No warranty.

They're just in business to try to upsell you on digging up and replacing your main line. They're uninterested in actually clearing the pipes in a satisfactory manner.

Never Again. Our hot water heater started leaking water. I called Rooter Hero to come out and fix the issue. Plumber told me it couldn't be fixed and that I would need a new water heater. Lame, but it is what it is, so decided if I was going to need a replacement, might as well switch to electric since the house is on solar.

Hammered out the details on tankless water heater that the technician told me was very reliable and would last me 20 years. The next day he came back and told me the county wouldn't issue a permit for it because that unit was so unreliable, so they were going to have to do a hybrid electric system, but it was going to cost another couple grand.

I got them to go back to their initial price, but something felt off. The price they gave for the unit was more than double the retail price and I was getting serious used car salesmen vibes.

I said we needed to step back and think about it now that the problem was taking longer to fix anyway.

Turns out that part that couldn't be replaced cost ten dollars at my local hardware store and took 5 minutes to install, so either the initial plumber was incompetent and doesn't know how to do basic repairs or was purposely hoping I was clueless and desperate and he could just upsell me to replacing my whole unit. Either way I will never do business with them again and highly encourage others to avoid.

Julio S. From Rooter Hero came out to snake / unclog my bathtub drain. It was done quickly without any hassle. They also did me the courtesy of adjusting the drain stopper, which was misaligned and partially blocking the drain. They did not charge me extra to do the adjustment. Rooter Hero was the most affordable of the three plumbing companies to clear a clogged drain. They were great.

Very unprofessional service. They do not care about the customer at all, and simply charge outrageous amounts. I had to change a faucet that was not working. The technician first quotes 600$ for it, and tried to upsell saying that plumbing is expensive. When I told him flat out that I won't pay it, he immediately reduced the price to 520$. The work only involved 20 minutes of Labour and 520
Is outrageous. I called another company who did the same work for 300$. I will never use them again. You should be ashamed of trying to cheat your customers to fill your pockets. Rooter Zero Plumbing sounds more apt name for this company.

These guys are a joke. Had them recently come out for an estimate for a water softener replacement. During the initial consult, the plumber asked what I do for work (not really any of their business, but sure, told them. Red flag number one). Was promised estimate next day, never received it and had to follow up two days later (as well as receiving multiple calls and texts from dispatch scheduling the original appointment that was already completed). I'm assuming this is due to the fact they outsource and subcontract their dispatch and plumbers. Get your appointment system fixed. Finally received the estimate, was quoted $6500 for a simple water softener replacement! Gotten estimates elsewhere and it was $3k on the high end for a water softener replacement. Laughably ridiculous, and a big waste of time. Avoid.

We suddenly had clogged drains which flooded the laundry room and backed up the kitchen and laundry room sinks. One call to request service, one call back to confirm service time, one call to confirm on their way, one service provider arrived and did the job...all on a late Saturday afternoon. We made our dinner date on time because they were so prompt and responsive! My neighbor had used their service in the past so they came recommended. Could not be happier.

Very unreliable service. Yesterday, I called for an urgent appointment as my HVAC has stopped working. Yesterday I was told someone would come between 5 and 7 pm. I called multiple times to check and I was told someone is on their way. Then at 7 pm when I called again I was told that the technician has clocked out so no one will come tonight. I agreed for someone to come today morning between 9 and 11 am. No one called to confirm new appt this morning. I called multiple times and was told again and again that technician is delayed. Each time the standard response was Someone will call you and confirm the appt. No one called for over 2 hours.

I lost trust that they will come and help me fix the issue. so at 1 pm I have finally canceled the appointment and found someone else.

We had an inspection yesterday again to check the work from the previous failure. Rooter Hero failed to do the work correctly and the city of San Jose failed us once again. This required Rooter Hero to go under the house again to fix the repair and now we have to wait for yet another inspection. Terrible company to work with please stay away from them.

I had a leak in the front yard and so I called Rooter Hero. Edgar was the guy who helped me out. He was very nice and detailed about his estimates, and he was very honest about the problems I was having so that I could better understand my situation. It was a collapsed sewer line (upper lateral). They had to do alot of work to remove junipers and dig the sewer out. They did a great detailed job and was pretty much done within one day minus inspections. Also, I had him do the horizontal drains under the house. He was willing to match an estimate and ended up saving me alot of money. They finished that job in one day as well. So far I have happy tenants with everything working. It was an expensive job, but I feel like they paid attention to the details, my concerns, and they cleaned it all up nicely. I liked that they took pictures and videos of my issues. Also, estimates were done quickly even after a long days work. Edgar made sure to take care of me. I appreciated his and his crews hard work. I will use them again for a job in the near future.

These guys were on time, ready to work, ready to negotiate, and did a detailed job. Thanks again!!

Water was backing up out of the washing machine drain pipe onto the garage floor, so I set up a plumbing project in Yelp and requested for quotes. Rooter Hero was the first to respond, answered all my questions, and set up the technician to come the next day. Their dispatch said that he would be arriving between 3-5 PM.

Ismael arrived pretty much at 3, took a look, and quoted me for the drain snaking / cleaning (standard price of $257, but $77 with the coupon.) He got right to work and did the job quickly. Afterward, he went into the crawlspace under the house just to check to see if there was anything about the pipes to be worried about. He gave us a few recommendations for future reference.

Ismael was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, communicative, and pleasant to work with. No pressure tactics. He even went out of his way to check the dryer exhaust duct while he was working behind the dryer. He wore a mask at all times, and put on booties when he came in the house. He cleaned up after himself before he left.
It was a great experience overall, and I would use Rooter Hero again.

I reached out to rooter hero plumbing yesterday to get a plumber to check my garbage disposal pipe. They sent Omar early this morning, in the time slot they specified.
Omar was really nice, friendly and punctual. He checked out the issue, explained the problem and presented a possible solution. We decided to change the pipes, and he brought the material needed and made the repairs in a timely, professional manner.
I also really appreciated the fact that he wore a mask and shoe protectors in the house.

I used Rooter Hero 3 months ago to repair a drainage problem. The drainage pipes are old. It was a big job, with the pipes running around 100ft from the house to our cul du sac pipes. The problem pipe area was 6 feet deep.

The Rooter Hero Project Tech, Ruben Gonzalez and his helpers repaired the pipe area and explained the problem clearly. I will use Rooter Hero again and request Ruben to manage the problem,

I will never use this company again! They were horrible. Not only did they not fix the problem after charging a ridiculous amount but they never came back to finally fix the problem. We were told repeatedly that the service man would be back to fix the issue but it never happened.
The service man never showed when they said they would. We had to keep calling and calling all day just to be told at the end of the day that the service man would be by the next day...this went on for 3 days and ruined our entire weekend.
The manager was incredibly rude and basically told me Well I'm leaving for the day so I guess you going to wait until tomorrow. Then once again nobody showed and nobody called to tell us what was going on.
My Husband was so disgusted with the treatment that we finally gave up and went with another company....THANK GOD!!!
If you need a Plummer this is NOT the company you want to use!!!!
I don't want anyone else to get the snow job that we did. Just looking out for my neighbors and giving you a proper warning about this shady business

Called these guys out to check and quote repairing a leaking pipe. I figured $500-$600 to repair. I was knocked off my feet when I received a quote of $2500. Needless to say, I thanked them for their time and called another company who promptly came out the next day and replaced the line for $300.

I also called a few other companies who quoted me $500 - $600 sight unseen.

If price gouging is what you're looking for then these are your guys.

I had a fast response with the appointment manager and excellent service with the technician 8505 Juan Carrasco on August 20th. Juan came back on August 23rd to replace a filter that wasn't available on the 20th visit. However, the filter was not the best size and he suggested that I order the correct size, and that he would come back and install the new filter for free.

I sent a text message to them on August 26th, saying that it had arrived. No response. I sent them an email on September 7th and got an email back saying that my request would be passed on to Juan right away. Then silence. I sent another email on November 2nd. This one got ignored. I sent a third email on November 14th, saying that I would leave negative reviews if my request continued to get ignored. Yep, ignored.

I had a very unfortunate situation where a pipe below my bathroom sink had bursted and was overflowing my apartment. Thankfully, Julio came by and turned the water off. He replaced the pipe that caused the issue, replaced a pipe below our kitchen sink that was having a leak, and gave us great recommendations that needed to be done. Our building is very old and went on too long without proper maintenance so a lot of work was needed. He fixed all our pipes in the unit and installed new faucets that now all look great! He was extremely thorough and made sure everything was done properly and took the time to explain to me everything he was doing. We really appreciate all the work he put in

On president's day weekend I had a faucet start leaking badly. We reached out to a company we found a good yelp review, and Rooter Hero responded a short time later.. NOT the actual company we reached out to. OK.. I guess these guys are the after-hours crew.

They come to my house and give me an estimate just shy of $1k. Um. OK. What does that include? No itemization. They didn't even really look at the faucet to see if it was fixable before providing this estimate. The estimate itself is completely without itemization.

My wife pushes back and they immediately reduce it to around $700. Still no itemization. Still not a lot of real time spent looking into the actual problem.

We say hell no, obviously. This is very predatory.

I ended up waiting until after the three-day holiday. Brought in a different company, and $200 worth of faucet tightening (and showing us how to do it) he was on his way, all the time apologizing as it was their minimum service fee.

So.. AVOID these people.

We have had major issues and Rooter Hero has been working around the clock for almost two weeks now at our house. These guys have shown up (rain or shine) with smiles on their faces while working on a not so pleasant job. They are beyond pleasant, always kept us in the know, always told us what to expect in the next days work, etc. Great team!! Shout out to Gio and Johnathan and their team who worked on our house in Concord, CA! Amazing guys doing an amazing job!! I 100% recommend them! I called this company on Saturday because our main line' cap was blown open the bathrooms and sinks were not clogged up just couple of toilet paper around the main line.
They said they are sending Ignacio to clean the main line . He sends a snake in and he says it's not working you have tree roots. After couple of hours he comes back and says there is a viberation in the main line and he can not fix it. He leaves us in limbo with poop and paper towels all in my back yard which was much worse than when he arrived

Called them at 4pm for a drain cleanout and was told there was availability that evening. No call back, even though I was told I would get a call in 20min. Called them at 530pm and was told no one is available and delayed until the next morning!
They came on time and snaked the cleanout, but didn't clear the clog and demanded payment!?! Forced to pay on the spot with no resolution. The only solution they offered was a $30k rebuild of the drain line!?! Absolutely a waste of time and money.

This is the second time I used Rooters Hero's service. Last time was extremely satisfactory (and I left a 5-star rating). But this time it was a complete disappointment.

My problems were the same as last time - sewage backup (at a different property). This house does not have a clean out so the technician offered to do it from the roof. The new price was reasonable so I authorized it. About an hour later, Tony from Rooter Hero called me and told me I have a broken main line in front of my house and he needs to clear the concrete, dig the pipe up and fix it. And he gave me a $4k estimate which is way out of my budget. I asked him if he can send the snake down again and try it one more time before I spend $4000 on a sewage backup, he went very impatient and told me he has done everything he can (that he snaked it 4 times already). I told him that for that amount of money I would like to shop around and ask for second opinions - he did waive part of the fee since my problem was not resolved. This is the reason why I'm giving 3-star instead of 1.

After they are gone, I sent new requests on Yelp asking for quotes to fix the main line - at this point I did believe his professional opinion and did think my pipe in front of the house is broken. The first company who responded (Abound Plumbing) came to the property, send the snake up to the roof, and literally ONE minute after the snake went in, problem solved! And the culprit is just bunch of baby wipes. The Abound tech ran some tests and told me that my main pipe is perfectly fine. Their service price is higher than Rooter Hero but as far as I'm concerned, it's much better than an unsolved sewage issue or $4k fixing a non-existing problem.

I hope Rooter Hero can improve their tech's service, or improve their equipment.

They charged me a lot of money for the very little that they have done. If they had spent the time and couldn't solve the problem or at least offered me some alternatives or temporary fixes, I would have thought they deserved the money. Only reason I am giving 2 stars is because at least the guy gave me a small discount after realizing I am very upset. I will never use this company again.

I contacted Rooter Hero to make an appointment for fixing some pluming issue At my residence.After changing appointments several times they promised me to provide services 4-6 pm on Friday. This time I was sure that they finally would come and take care of the problem. Guess what? On appointment date Between 4pm-6.30 ,I called the company seven times and each time a new person got the call asking me the same stupid questions like what was the pluming problem or asking my demographic information . Thanks god !! after hours of wasting my time , I found out there is no technician at all! And they all were playing games!
As it was weekend I had no choice but contact other pluming company to pay double the regular service fee. NEVER TRUT THESE GUYS!!!!

I'd give less if I could. Not so heroic. I called at 10:00 in the morning. Was told they were busy and would text me when on their way. 3:00 called to see when they were coming. Was told would be here between 4:30 and 6:30. At 6:15 got a call saying they wouldn't make this time, but could come between 9:00 and 11:00. p.m.! Or next day, between 12:00 and 2:00. Got a call that morning saying they couldn't make that time, but could do 4:00 - 6:00. I asking if they could guarantee, as I had already wasted one day waiting for them. No guarantee. I said, forget it...
Found Andres Tellez, Handy Bay Plumbing. Showed up early, did a great job, charged a very reasonable rate. He gets five stars!

I needed a drain line snaked between atmospheric river rainstorms ... so I was expecting all such businesses to be busy.

Rooter Hero was quick to take my call and gave me a half hour arrival window only 90 minutes after the time of my call. I was delighted to receive service so quickly. Alas, after waiting nearly an hour after the window had passed to inquire, I was given a new 2 hour window about an hour out. Midway through that window I received a text stating that they were very busy and giving me a new, later 2-hour arrival window and asking that I call if it was not going to work for me. Luckily, I guess, the 3rd time was the charm and technician Edgar Sanchez and his helper showed up and quickly and efficiently snaked the drain of the roots blocking it via a convenient clean-out at their advertised $77 drain clearing special price. Edgar was friendly and professional and so I assured him I'd mention his good service. I have taken one star off this review due to the scheduling snafu I understand that they were busy, but I cannot understand why a 10:30 window has to unexpectedly be moved twice to ultimately be closer to 4 pm if they knew they were busy. As a result, I spent much of the day waiting around for them to show up instead of doing errands I needed to do. Had the schedulers been realistic about their technician's availability & workload, they should've been able to provide a more accurate service window from the start.

Started out positive. They showed up at 11 pm. I was grateful. They were unable to fix the issue and around 1am said it was a broken line under the house. $375 and they left saying they would call back Tuesday. If you're reading this Rooter Hero's, don't bother!
My regular plumber came today, 20 minutes it was fixed. Just needed to be snaked. My plumber said if Rooter is in the name they work on commission. Hope this is helpful and best of luck with plumbers.

I called Rooter Hero when my hot water tank failed, because they've provided good service in the past. The dispatcher would not give me an estimate for replacement over the telephone, even though I knew exactly what replacement tank I wanted. She told me an plumber would come by and provide an estimate for $49, which could be put towards the cost of the job. The plumber came by in a few hours, which pleased me. However, the estimate was ridiculous: $4,000. If the dispatcher had been able to give me a ballpark estimate, I would not have wasted the plumber's time or my $49. I found another company who was able to do the tank replacement for less than half the price.

We had our whole bathroom system back up in our home. Grey water in the bathroom shower and bath. We have used this company almost every other year for this same issue with our old clay pipes and roots growing through. It was usually just snaking the system and it would clear.

Now the plumber and the other person that showed up were nice, but it seemed like we were convincing them to try every avenue to help our situation. It was like they were trying to check off boxes as fast as they could to get out here.

After they were trying to snake the shower drain which seemed like 15 mins. They said that the head on their snake was too big to go around the corners of our pipes from the drain. So they didn't have to tool to do the job? But then I was still charged when it's not my fault they did not have the right tools.

Next step they said is to go under the house and asked if I wanted them to do that. I of course said yes I need this fixed I have a one year onle in the house and I can't live like this. After he was out from under the house he showed me the leaks in our system. I had mentioned how they use to snake the drain from the roof. He said he could but because I have a wood shingle roof he doesn't think he can. I explained to him again we have used this company almost every other year since we rented here 12yrs. They have snaked the pipe before, and we hired this company to put the clear out. (Main was clear drains were clogged still) The plumber called his supervisor and he kept saying but look at the roof like he was hoping his supervisor would say don't do it. Even after he said it was ok for his plumber to do it he stated again about the roof.

Once on the roof there are 2 spouts they snaked only one saying it was the right one and they don't need to do the other one. I hope they were right, I would have checked both just in case. After this, I was left in not only the same spot but messier then it was before. They were here for an hour and a half barely spent time snaking the drain, went under the crawl space, then on the roof in that short amount of time. You have to account for they had to reel the snake back in using our garage plug before they even started the job. This was after fiddling with it in front of their van. Almost like they spent more time trying to reel in the snake then actually putting it in the drain. Then all the time in between to prepare to check the next box as fast as possible getting different clothes on to go under the house etc. I was told by the plumber before he went on the roof when I asked him what our next step was, he said it was to have your landlord to get someone to fix it. I was so confused because who else do I call to fix a plumbing issue but a plumber which is who I called.

After the roof, I was told there was nothing they could do today. That at 4:57pm I was told they would have to come back tomorrow to cut the pipe and it would be $3,000. I understand the plumber doesn't make the prices but he is part of the face of the company. The face he showed me the day of Nov 30th was one of not trying and going through the steps as fast as possible. I have all the receipts of getting the call from the company at 2:46pm for a 30 min arrival time. So from that time to 4:47pm all that was done.

Not only did I feel like I have to pep talk the plumbers to try every avenue to help me. Saying I can't live like this, my daughter can't live like this, is there really nothing else that you can do. Almost pleading with them, but I also got charged $177 to clean up, wash off my driveway and call someone else to pay them to actually do the job. Very disappointing experience with a company I've used for more then a decade, but probably wont ever use them again. Sorry but you were not my Rooter Hero this time around.

I ended up calling a plumber that employs himself from Pop N Go. He spent an hour snaking our drains putting in some effort he got the clog out. He even rinsed my shower and bathtub clean and wiped every surface down. Now that is the service we need.

On another note when was showing the plumber our issues we were having. Explaining how the landlords don't like to pay for regular maintenance or large fixes. Then he asked me if they were Asian. I awkwardly said no. Just a weird thing to ask and make that prejudicial assumption that made me feel uncomfortable.

We engaged Rooter Hero when we were in an urgent situation. Our sewer line failed on a Friday night. With little time to research and tenants living in the house we had no choice but to use their services. We needed a segment of the line replaced. We had tenants living in the home, there was no water and we could not get any other plumbers out on a weekend. The cost to replace this small segment was just under $8000 and did NOT include a washout. It was not even proposed even though they told us we should replace the entire line. We later found out after having two other plumbing companies come and give us a quote that a washout should have been included since there is risk to the rest of the line failing. We also found out we paid 200% more than we should have. The other companies also did a video inspection and during that time it seemed the new segment had already shifted. We did contact Rooter Hero regarding the shifting of the segment and the over charge. They put us in touch with their 'compliance' guy who then sent out the SAME technician who did the repair to inspect his own work? This made no sense to us. We have since heard nothing from Rooter Hero regarding the over charge. I urge you to read BBB reviews before using this company. There are many claims for over charing and taking advantage of people with their pricing. It looks like they have had license issues in the past as well.

I had a great experience with this company about six months ago and then yesterday was a disappointment. I had called on Monday for an appointment they offered me one on Tuesday morning. I received a confirm text someone would come on Tuesday morning And I would receive a call from a dispatcher. No dispatcher ever called me so I called the company and spoke to a gentleman early Tues am and he said someone will call but they'll be here Tuesday between 10 and 12. No one showed up. I called again and they said someone will call me and come out that day. Person by the name of Jacqueline left a message saying that someone is coming out Wednesday between 10 and 12 I worked on Wednesday and can't do it. I called back. They said they will get someone else to come on Tuesday and no one called. I called back later in the day and actually spoke to a dispatcher Jacqueline who said she left me a message which I didn't receive. Perhaps there's something wrong with their system. I took off time to work to be at home and this is really frustrating. Then the representative said they called because they had a person to come over but because I didn't pick up the phone they went to someone else because they had so many people to service. That makes a customer feel good. They didn't leave a message when they had another person because they had too many other people who needed help.

I am happy to write another review but the attitude is, we have so many people if you don't pick up then we go to the next one even though I had an appointment scheduled and I took time off from work to be at home.

We recently purchased a place and weren't sure of the condition of the drain system, so I had Rooter Hero proactively snake our sewer line. Eli showed up on time, was professional, courteous and efficient. I don't think I could have asked for an easier service call.

The level of communication was spectacular. While there appear to be several different departments [incoming call center, scheduling, dispatch, ...], they were all working with the same information and everything was seamless.

The next time we have any plumbing issues, I know who I'll call [and will absolutely request Eli].

Do NOT recommend, incompetent and unreliable. Rooter Hero hires clowns

Needed a simple drain clean out in San Jose - Appointment was from 4-6pm, blew past 6pm, no phone call, total flake on the appointment. Finally heard back and decided to show up after 9pm! Ok we wanted it fixed but...over the course of the next hour, he proceeded to spew nonsense about possible causes and accessing blockage through roof vents and exterior of house. All sorts of rambling and nonsense because we come to realize he had a damaged rooting tool from a previous job and is essentially trying to avoid using it, when it was clearly the only tool to use for the job.

Once he finally stopped with this, he at last got to work on the job at the bathroom drain, but did not have basic necessities, like gloves or clean up supplies, left the job a total mess.

Took over two hours, until nearly midnight to unclog the drain because the tool was not in proper operating condition. Will never hire this company again and suggest you STAY AWAY.

Would appreciate if Rooter Hero could learn from this and clean up their act.

My son was taking a shower at 11:00pm on June 30 (the eve of a holiday weekend of course) and sewage started backing up into the both showers and toilettes. I called many plumbers that said they were open 24 hours, but none were willing to come out that night. As we all know, you can't go without plumbing even for one night. I was able to get in touch with Rooter Hero. The technition got to our house around 12:30am. He was very nice and very professional and was able to determine the problem within a short period of time. He was able to get a temporary fix so we could use the toilette and even take a short shower. The next day, another tech came out and assessed the situation. He gave us 3 options for repair/replacement and described the pros and cons of each. We made our decision and he got the job started immidiately. The whole team worked hard the next day and finished the job by the end of the day. We only had to be without water/bathroom for one day. They arrived on time, were very clean and respectful and finished as promised. I would highly recommend Rooter Hero. I'm so glad I found a plumber I can trust.

Incompetent and fully unreliable. First schedule, nothing got done. Second attempt they didn't show up.

Rooter came to install a water circulator in January. The plumber checked the water pressure (had nothing to do with the issue I'd called for), and maybe a couple of other things, besides charging his telephone that he said was desperately needed. The water circulator was never completed. They didn't charge me for this. (Hooray)

We continued to collect the pre-shower hot water and use it for our plants.

In May I called again and was given a next day appointment for arrival between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. At about 10 a.m. I got a call that he was on his way from Santa Cruz to Aptos and it'd be about half-an-hour. At 11;20 a.m. I got a call that he wouldn't be here until 1 p.m.

I had rearranged my day to be available in the morning, and vcouldn't be home in the afternoon. Do you want to reschedule? I was asked. No. I'll find another plumber.

Called for an appointment to get my only shower fixed. I got one for two days later with a two hour time window. Two hours before the appointment they called and pushed it back for 2 days! I get not being able to guarantee a time but that's what the window part of an appointment window is for. Pushing it back days right before the appointment window is unprofessional, inconsiderate of customers time and needs. If you can't fit me in just tell me that upfront. Don't schedule me and then be shady. If I can't trust you to be honest about that why would I trust anything else you advise?

Jimmy and John did an amazingly quick and complete repipe of my mobile home. I wasn't expecting it, but after they looked under the house and showed me the photos, there wasn't anything else to do. They had told me I wouldn't have water in the house for two or three days, but they set up a provisional line in 24 hours for which I was very grateful! They cleaned up everyday after work and were very sensitive about my needs as a disabled person, always making sure there was an easy path from my car to my lift. I will definitely use Hero Rooter again if I have another plumbing job.

They took us to the cleaners and ruined our hardwood floors. They never did fix what we called them out for and charged us for something that did not need to be done. Instead they flooded our laundry room and kitchen. They called a company out to dry out floors for several days. Our mistake in not following through as now our kitchen floors have expanded and there are gaps in the floor. How can a plumbing company not know to turn water off before removing the hoses???? BEWARE!!!

Then I found Rooter Hero Plumbing from the Google search. They took my information and immediately dispatch a technician come over.

Came to my moms house for a mainline backup. She is renting and the property has no clean outs. So they gave the option of pulling the toilet or running a cable through the vent. Don't have a choice and gave them the go ahead to go on roof. They cleared the backup but tried to upsell her a clean out. Her not being the property owner, kindly told them it wasn't her decision. So they leave without checking if everything is draining properly. Come to find out, the bathroom and kitchen (on same line) are still backed up. Instead of taking care of the issue, they told her it would be an additional charge to clear the secondary line. All three plumbing companies I have worked at would have checked everything before leaving and trying to charge an addition cost on top of the $400 for going on roof. Don't recommend. (I'm out of town otherwise I would've took care of it myself)

My little apartment bathroom sink was clogged pretty badly. I found Rooter Hero who promptly gave me an appointment the next day. Josh showed up professionally on time and had great patience and courtesy to listen to my problem description. He understood the situation in no time and assured me that the problem could be fixed shortly. While he was trying to snake the drain, there was a little problem with the machine. Instead of using that as an excuse to reschedule for another day, he quickly went back to his shop and got another machine to work on the drain. Just like magic, the drain clog was cleared in just a few minutes. Josh really earned my respect and trust of doing plumbing/drainage work from now on.

One comment about why rooter hero does not get a higher rating. I think it must be due to not all technicians working there has the same technical know-how. I had seen one who just did not know much about the trade. So, please make sure you pick the right guy when you call RH.

I just have to post a huge positive review for Rooter Hero. My elderly Mom was experiencing a toilet flood at her multilevel senior living apartment. I called them late in the evening and they answered my call and got a technician on his way. I had to call them off because the building owner said I wasn't allowed to bring in my own plumber. When I called to cancel, they were so full of kindness about my situation! So, now I have a go to company for rooter problems!!! Because I know they will respond!!!!! I had the standard clogged sync on a Thursday evening and I called Rooter Hero and they said they had availability. The first concern was after hour plumbing fees and they said their fees are the same regardless of hour. When asking about cost they said they will come and give an estimate before any work, and I can just say 'no thanks' if I want. Then when I confirmed they said a plumber would be out within an hour.

Within an hour David M. arrived and assessed the situation and provided a quote. I approved and with a simple snake and 20 minutes the issue was resolved. David put everything back as to how it was before he arrived and we were done.

I always contact Rooter Hero whenever I get an issue in my house. They are upfront with their prices and very reliable. Most of the times they will come on the same day I call them. very professional

Today we called because our garbage disposal was not working. They arrived within a few hours. Marco Cantero did an amazing job identifying the problem and he investigated also an issue we had with the water pressure. He fixed both within an hour.

Called a couple plumbing and rooter hero was the first to be able to respond so that's good. Julio came and was professional and polite and tried the $77 snaking solution which unfortunately didn't work as the issue turned out to be main sewer pipe slippage about 85 feet away from access point and required the much more expensive sewer repair after additional diagnosis. While expensive, we were kept informed of all the cost of each step and provided estimate. All works were completed per estimate from cost and time perspective and Julio kept us informed throughout. Hopefully never need additional services, but if I did, wouldn't hesitate to call rooter hero again and would recommend them

Kitchen sink plugged up with slow drainage both sides. Earnest from rhp came to our rescue. Not only did a perfect Aplus job to remove the plug, also figured out the previous installer created a kink in the pipe . Earnest went ahead to remove the kink by cutting short and adjust the slope of the pipe. Now there is a strong drain visible!

allied air: at first, I was pretty confused when I called Allied Aire and reached Rooter Hero. I had hung up double checked the number and called again thinking I missed a number or two. once I got to speak to someone, I heard Rooter Hero Heating and air as the dispatcher answered. I asked question about why Allied Aires number is going to them, they told me that the two companies merged. then said that they will send the appointment over to the local San Jose shop and they will give me a call to confirm. soon after I got a call from Nancy the local dispatcher and I recognized her voice and she explained to me that the two companies merged and all of Allied Staff was still working. She got my appointment booked and sent out their sales manager.
the sales manager John-Alex was very helpful with helping figure out what system to install. I was on the fence about either doing a regular heating and air system or a heat pump system. I would like to commend how patient John-Alex was with all my questions and helping me decide. we went with the heat pump system and I couldn't be any happier with my choice. pricing was a bit more than others but when I compared quotes it was a no brainer especially with the warranty ( I'm big on warranty ). Once the they came to do the work they worked around my schedule and the install manager Jose and crew kept me in the loop with everything they were doing. Seems like I'm the first heating and air client to post this review but great work Allied Team

Big thank you to our technician Victor who came out and did 2 homes that had the drain backed up. He is very professional and knowledgeable and very efficient. He came within 1 hour of the phone call, and they did not overcharge simply because it was an emergency.

After he finished the 1st home, he quickly drove to the 2nd home within 20 minutes and started working on it. He was able to clear out the drain after 2 other plumbers were unable to do it. Rooter Hero and Victor did an excellent job today and we are extremely happy.

Our furnace suddenly died recently and Rooter Hero came to the rescue in just 3 days! They were extremely thorough, professional, and responsive throughout the process and the furnace has been working like a champ. I would definitely recommend Rooter Hero as your first call!

I have been a customer with Allied Aire for over 25 years because of the great customer service I get with Nancy Nuessle. She is now with Rooter Hero Plumbing and I will do business with Rooter Hero because I know I am in great hands if Nancy is there.

She is very friendly and professional and always lets me know how much she appreciates our business. She goes above and beyond with following up after the job is done. In fact, she was on her way out, and helped me with a problem I had with my water heater. It had nothing to do with the work they did on the furnace. John Gonzalez called back and told my husband how to remedy the problem, and it was fixed in a few minutes. Customer service is very important to me and Nancy and John are wonderful examples of how a customer should be treated.

It is now April 13th and still no response from this company. In the interim I have gotten quotes from other companies. I signed a contract this morning with a company which 1) showed up on time for the quote, 2) provided an itemized cost estimate and explained it thoroughly, 3) had the correct size AC unit identified, and 4) promptly responded to my questions. It is so nice doing business with a company that focuses on customer service. Added bonus, the cost is less than Rooter Hero. Clearly Rooter Hero is doing the bare minimum and charging a premium for it. Please do your homework, there are lots of better options out there than Rooter Hero.

They're worth more than 5 stars.

Second time I've called them in three years (different drain this time). Easy to schedule, including on a Saturday. Very pleasant person who answered phone and scheduled - highly professional. Received an email AND text confirmation.

Window was for this AM between 9 and noon. Received a text at 815 am letting me know someone would contact me soon - message also sent as an email. David called me at 830 am said he'd be here between 9 and 915 am. He arrived at 914 am (on time!) - face mask, gloved hands, covered his shoes with booties.

He looked at the job and confirmed two drains for the $77 special. Quickly got to work, checked in with me. Explained what he was doing. When finished, he walked me into both bathrooms, explained what he did, told me about the 30 day warranty, and both bathrooms were spotless - no sign that he had been there working to clean out drains.

Very complete work. On time. Exceptionally professional. I tipped David well because was such as nice, kind, friendly father of two boys (we joked about how our similarly aged kids clog our toilets and don't tell us).

Any time I need a plumber, I'll call again. In a day and age where customer service can be questionable, Rooter Hero (and DAVID!) are all about great service, fair prices, and outstanding work.

I've being using their services for years but their recent quotes become ridiculously high: removal of a regular filtration system (APEC) is $592 which is the double of the total cost of the filtration system itself and the installation cost; $13000 quote for leakage which was then fixed by another plumber with only ～$2000 ... Called to file a complaint, was transferred to manager, then never got connected

Price was as quoted by telephone staff. Nuff said.

Need I say more? Angel Vasquez! Came, saw, and conquered.

We were dealing with a leak with tub, it caused over 100's of dollars in our water bill. Angel came through, looked at everything, consulted with me, ensured that I knew what we're stepping into, and fixed everything in a jiff.

He's a good guy and wasn't offset like other plumbers. Rooter hero's pricing works extremely well for my family too. Being that I am a disabled veteran it means the most to me to see that we can get a percentage of the bill knocked down.

All in all, my highest recommendation for this company if I was able to give 10 stars you'd see them!

Very satisfied with the trench-less sewer replacement job (100 ft from house to the street) that they did for me about 2 months ago. The entire job took 2 days -- they needed to dig deep in hard clay to prepare for the replacement -- but there were only about 2 hours during which the sewer usage was interrupted. The crew that did all the digging (Michael, Cisco, and Rudy) worked very hard and were pleasant to interact with. I also had a toilet replacement done by Julio (who also supervised the sewer job), at a better price than any other estimates.

If you are searching for a reliable and professional plumber, look no further. Rooter Hero is all you need. I found this company from Google search and browsed their website before I call their number for an appointment. Since it is not an urgent need, I scheduled my appointment 2 days later. I received an email confirmation immediately, a live phone call (not a robo caller) 45 minutes before my appointment time, and a text to my cellphone. David Sanchez (my RH Angel) arrived within the appointment time. I live in an older home where a nearly 60-year old tree roots got in my front water pipe, so I need to get it clean out periodically. David advised I should get it cleaned annually even I don't have clogged drains in the house to avoid more damage done in the pipe. He wore gloves and mask during his service that was Covid-19 compliant. He is professional and courteous. My problem solved!

Their price is reasonable and their response time is quick. I wish I have known them sooner, after I have encountered some greedy plumbers. So I highly recommend using their service for all of your plumbing needs. I know I won't look anywhere else now. Thank you David S, my Rooter Hero!

These guys are scammers, this should be illegal.

I had a bathtub faucet that started dripping. Rooter Hero came out the next day and quoted me $7,257.62 to fix it. SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS.

I went on youtube, watched a 5 minute video, and after an hour and one trip to the hardware store, I had my leak fixed for $37.54.

I understand these are professionals and they need to make a living, so I was prepared to pay $500 for something so trivial to fix. Instead, they quoted me for basically gutting the whole shower.

We were originally pleased with the company. My mother was told and believed they would come back and complete the inspection and the clean up 4 days after digging up the yard for the pipe replacement. That was 28 days ago. We received no updates, courtesy phone calls, nothing. We can't even get a payment receipt from this company. As she keeps me in the loop, we have called multiple times, and the most recent response we got was, I'll call you back in 10 minutes. That was 8 days ago. My mother was also told, I will give you the City's number, you can call yourself. That is absurd to tell anyone, let alone a 78 year old women. We now have ants coming in from the hole that was dug under the kitchen window. We do not need an apologetic reply from Lyndee Tanner of Rooter Hero Plumbing, Business Manager or any other business manager. What is needed is a completed job.

If this isn't being taken advantage of and lied to, I don't know what is.

Our neighbors also need plumbing work done as we have all lived in this neighborhood for many years. Unfortunately, after they have seen what's going on, they have chosen to go elsewhere.

In short, I do not recommend this company.

I never like paying for plumbing as I have done this work in my early life...but when a water main breaks you gotta get a crew out to get it done. Rooter Hero is not the cheapest and I have had some issues with them in the past....But let me tell you about a few people that really made it all happen and changed my outlook on the company. David Moreno (project lead) GOT IT DONE!....He did EXACTLY what he said he would, when he said he would do it. (that means a lot to me as a customer). Did the project take longer than expected? Yes....(but it always does and it was NOT David's fault) - David took a lot of care to make sure it was perfect. He went above and beyond and put in the extra mile to make sure everything was done well and the job site left as it was found. There were two other workers, Ruben and Omar (new hire, just a kid) but boy did he hump too. David really stepped up and did a great job. These things are never expected and are never a fun experience as a home owner but these guys did a great job in making sure everything was done perfectly. (and that says a lot coming from me as I have a lot of experience in plumbing and general construction work). If you hire Rooter Hero...make sure you get David Moreno on the job - you will NOT be dissatisfied. San Jose, California. Oh and only 4 stars because they are NOT inexpensive and do try to over charge. My review is more about about David and the others.

I came upon an issue at my house and had many businesses to choose from. I choose this one because of the conversation I had with someone through the message system.
I had a scheduled time to come out and they moved me from that time and when they called the guy who I spoke to was very rude and told me if I didn't like it I could cancel! Very unprofessional for being that I'm a new customer.

I am taking my business elsewhere so thank you!

Beware of this customer service when they haven't even came to my house! Very disappointing.

This review is over due. When you see these guys, not sure you should be happy because you got help or you should be sad because your shitter got a big problem! Well, imaging your business in a busy day...the place is full of customers, and the toilet is out of order! Well, when your neighbors' bathrooms also got the same problem, things couldn't have been worse.
Booking with Rooter Hero is essay and quick. They came on time and finish the job professionally. Found a big junk of tree root via camera. Worked for hours until dark. Problem solved! Thanks Marco and Rooter Hero! You have found your saviors guys! Call them! They're worth every penny!

I needed a sink replacement. Rooter Hero came and gave me an estimate for 600 if i provide my own sink and 800 if they provide. It sound pricey for a 2hrs job but i decided to go ahead. I was notified 30 minutes later that the pricey they quote me was for garage sink installation and that the in-home installation is $900 and $1400. I was not very happy with the switch. Its convenient that they have the garage installation price available at the initial quote. How many service call they have for a garage sink vs. an in house sink? How many people actually have a garage sink? In any case, i did not wanted to waste more time and unhappily went ahead. They call me back 30 mins later saying that they do not have installer until 4 days later. At this point I decided to bite the bullet and go with someone else.

It looks like the company is mostly servicing rooter. Their installation and repair services are offered for plumbing completeness but are not well processed.

I unfortunately would not recommend. I had an emergency where my water pipe broke. They said they'd try to get someone out same day and I had to keep calling for them to eventually say that they had no one and had to wait the next day. The next day they came out and quoted me 4X the price that a different plumber quoted! It was just insane and totally unrealistic. I can understand maybe $100 more dollars, but the difference between $2300 vs $400 quote is not acceptable. The other plumber finished in 30 minutes and little damage to the house. Rooters wanted to cut a 3 x 3 ft hole in the house to fix a 1/2 inch pipe. Overall, I was not happy with the quote!

I didn't receive a call until 11:57 am at which time I was told that a technician could be at my property in 60-90 minutes with drive time. I informed the caller that I already had another company scheduled for the 1-3 pm window for an estimate and I didn't need two techs in my home at the same time.

I give them zero stars since they never attempted to make it over here after missing three scheduled two hour blocks of me waiting plus another three hours on top of that waiting for them to either call or show up. I missed work today to take care of this. I'm sure they have scheduled as well. But don't book an appointment if you can't make it. So apparently they get a freebie since you can't give a zero star review. They get 1 Star for the dispatcher trying to get a plumber over.

I had an appointment scheduled yesterday Sunday from 8pm-10pm. I was called at 8:59pm and was told he would be over before 12:00am. No call no show. Left a message on yelp after the missed appointment and was told the plumber had to leave and was not able to show up. So I called back 6:30am and scheduled from 9:00am-11:00am since they have a whole new shift of plumbers I was told. 2:00pm and still no one showed. I did get a phone call at 2:10pm I answered. Heard something for a second and then click. They hung up on me. A minute later another phone call. But click, the same thing. They hung up on me. I give up.

We had a blockage in our main line. They came out and removed the blockage. They ran a camera through the line to determine the cause. It turns out to be a failing anti-backflow valve. They gave us a quote for repairing it. The drain clean was $77.00. We are happy.

I was unlucky of calling this company to replace a broken faucet that was preventing my shower of shutting off. The technician came on time at least in more or less an hour after I called, but then even before starting he said: what you want me to do because it will cost a lot and take a long time to replace the valve, and I need $129.50 just to open and look if it's broken, and if it's broken, it will cost $699 to fix plus the parts. So I was in a hurry without water and it was getting late so I took the gamble: silly me, after 45 seconds of examination, of course it was broken, and because was late his office was closed and he didn't have the parts so he'd need to go to home depot and if he couldn't find the part, he would need to break my wall to plug the pipe that would add costs and etc.... So I bit the bullet and he went to the home depot around the corner to purchase a plastic stem for the price of 5 bucks, and after 10 minutes everything was finished. Total price: $778.50 for a 15 minutes job plus the trip to Home Depot. Just to give you a perspective: The president of the United States makes $198 per hour. So plumber is the job of the riches.

EDIT: The day after I left this review, someone from the company called me asking why I left this review and after I explained the reason I was told that it's not their practice to charge for assessment and diagnosis and that this was wrong and that someone else was going to call me again to address the situation and blah blah blah, and of course no one ever called.

Called Rooter Hero due to a toilet issue and Greg did an outstanding job of fixing that issue. He was very friendly and very helpful on Saturday.

Kyle and Jose did an outstanding job today.. They were professional and courteous. Excellent workmanship in getting our shower valve replaced and then the installation of two vessel sinks for our bathrooms.

Jeremy supervised the project and did a good job coordinating activities and ensuring everything was done to superb standards.

Not only did they respond quickly via Yelp, but they were able to come out the same day for a non-urgent service call. 2 different technicians ended up supporting my 2 different needs: one for a clogged sink and a 2nd for hot water heater maintenance. Both were stellar in terms of friendliness and ability to communicate the details of their work. I honestly only gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because they neglected to inform me what I had to do in order to flush my hot water to get it back up and running (opening all the faucets to remove any air pockets, etc.). We were without hot water for over 3 hours and I ended up having to Google a solution. When I called the company for support, they had no solution and only offered to send someone out the next morning which wasn't acceptable. But I fixed it on my own.

Rooter Hero has such good commercial so I thought I'd give them a try. I had a clogged kitchen sink and ask them to clean out the main drain. Rooter Hero of San Fernando quoted me $77 so I though, okay. But after cleaning it out the plumber said that I would have to pay $1200 to have my drain hydro jetted. Good thing that I decided to call someone else. The other plumber only ended up charging me $200, however the problem was not fully solved because he said that the problem is not the main drain and I really don't need any hydro jetting. So finally I decided to just go to Home Depot. Paid $10 for ZEP and it solved the problem. I am so glad that I did not end up calling back Rooter Hero and pay the $1200 which is way too pricey.

We requested a quote to have a sink removed and replaced. A consultation appointment of our service request was scheduled for today between 1pm-3pm. After rescheduling a few times throughout the day, the specialist finally arrived at 7pm only to tell us that this company doesn't do sink installations even after we were very clear in our initial request what we wanted. We definitely wish the service and communication was better.

I called Rooter Hero at 7:00 on Saturday morning, explaining that we had a clogged sewer line. Sona took my call and was polite and understanding.

I received a text 30 seconds later describing the appointment I had just made. The repair was scheduled between the hours of 9-11.

I received a second text a short time later, telling me that our technician, Nick, would be arriving shortly. Nick arrived a few minutes after nine.

After explaining the situation, Nick went right to work, and 30 minutes later, the problem was resolved.

This is the third time we've worked with Rooter Hero in the past couple of years, and each time my experience has been the same: Great service, knowledgeable technicians, and a very reasonable price.

I recommend Rooter Hero to anyone who appreciates fine customer service at a fair price.

I wouldn't trust this company for as far as I could throw it. Just as you see in a few other reviews, you may have a minor plumbing issue.

You call them to have them resolve it for you.

They will absolutely create a fictitious large problem for you so they can charge you a large sum of money to handle work that you don't really need.

Go to craigslist and get an independent for small or more significant issues.

But, use these guys to your own peril.

Rooter Hero saves the day! My Labor Day Monday was a disaster my old sewage system finally gave out. I called rooter hero to come out to help me fix my plumbing issue and my friends ( Adam, Rudy, David, Antonio, Angel) really pulled a job that I thought would take a minimum of 5 days they pulled it off in 3 days replacing my whole sewage system under my house to the front of my house. Although the cost was really high I feel as though these guys worked so hard they deserve a raise I never seen anybody replace a whole sewage system under a house so fast with no leaks. I had a laundry line that was clogged and called Rooter Hero. Johnny came promptly at the time promised. Our laundry line is very narrow (1), but he had a snake that could get through. He pulled out some roots and asked me to test it. When it was still clogged, Johnny persisted and ran the snake to 75 feet -- at it was cleared! I appreciate that Rooter Hero gives a 90 warranty, and charges by the job, not by the hour.

Appreciate them coming out the same day, tech was nice but unhappy with the service after. We had multiple back up after their initial visit and couldn't get any answers as to why other then paying them to come back out for additional work. Phone # provided was to an answering service which is always frustrating. After paying for additional inspections on the line we waited over a week to get the recommendation and video back which didn't provide much info about the problem. Suggest going with a smaller local plumber who will give you their direct # and who can provide more information on the reports. Won't be back!

Omar was great. Really friendly. Explained everything in detail that he would try. $77 deal for unclogging from under sink, but didn't work. He said it would be $280ish for snaking. Tried snake, didn't work. Then he said has to use hydrojet. Which they wanted to charge around $1000. That's too steep, out of budget. I called around and got a quote for $350, which is a lot more reasonable. Everyone has their prices tho

Wow - AMAZING.

I had a leaking shower, it's an older house and the cartridge was calcified over and I was afraid to replace it myself. Jose from Rooter Hero showed up, wore boot covers, a mask and gloves. He took apart the old shower, faced a few problems and could easily have said too old to fix... but he found the part needed and fixed it perfectly. He saved me so much stress and a lot of money by doing the repair instead of a more complicated replacement.

A shout out to the team of Jonathan Cena, Michael, and Anthony and their boss - Sal Sandoval. Amazing guys! Friendly and courteous, but thorough professionals. They did a marvelous job fixing the pipe/main water supply which had cracked due to the presence of a redwood tree. They not only fixed the problem which was buried in concrete, they also cleaned up the entire patio from all the waterlogging. Will continue to use Rooter Hero for any plumbing problems.

In the special, all it says is a proper-access and the special seventy seven for cleaning is not valid and we need to give two hundred and twenty. Absolutely unprofessional and wasted time.

We needed quick service to replace a water valve in order to hook up our new refrigerator. Rooter Hero sent out David Sanchez within an hour to come and take care of the problem. He was very honest in his assessment and was able to fix the problem very quickly. We had contacted several plumbers in the area who were unable to do same day service. Will definitely use Rooter Hero again, they were professional and reasonably priced.

We had water leak outside. Rooter Hero sent an inexperienced technician over that could not even find the shut off valve. They asked for $390 to uncover the leak that took about 5 minutes of digging. After that Sal the supervisor came back with $2764 quote for repair. When I asked why he is asking for so much money for something that at most take 2 hours to fix, he gave me the usual answer: parts, labor, permit, warranty. He was not willing to send me an estimate.
Rooter hero Plumbing is a rip-off. Don't call them even if you are desperate.

Had a major clog outside to the main drain. Humberto arrived within 45 minutes and he brought out the medium sized router and quickly cleared the drain. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely call Rooter Hero again and ask for Humberto.

We've used Rooter Hero twice. The 1st time was a clogged bathtub and the gentleman (is this politically correct?) worked on it for about an hour. It was a stubborn clog. We were pleased.
2nd time Julio came out and he was amazing. Main sewer was clogged. He tried from an entry point in backyard and the snake would not go far enough, it was being stopped by something. He climbed under the house and found where it was stopping. The snake would not go past that point. Julio next climbed on the roof and checked the venting. No go. Next I pulled up the downstairs toilet and Julio routed it as far as he could go. Still plugged. Julio went to the sewer access point in the front yard and he determined it was a clog on the city side. I called the city and meantime Julio routed the city line and got it cleared. The city came out and just flushed water down the drain (which did not clear it any more). Julio then put a camera down the line and inspected the pipes under the house. Super pleased with Julio and Rooter Hero and the fact that even though it took hours they did not charge for extra time. Highly highly recommend Julio and Rooter Hero.

We had a sewage backup and when they came, my very first question was whether or not it was my responsibility or the city's and they said, definitely mine. So I didn't bother to call the city to ask...Hours later and with an estimate of repairs from $3K to $20K, I decided to first call another company for a second opinion. The other company didn't even need to come out and with a quick look on a google map, told me that it's something that might be the responsibility of the City of San Jose. I gave the city a call and within 15 minutes, they were out and had fixed the problem for FREE.

The Rooter Hero guys that came out were courteous and professional and stayed for several hours to help troubleshoot the issue so I'm giving them an extra star for that, but I would have expected them to advise me to call San Jose if there was any chance they would cover it.

100% happy with John Alex Gonzales. We have to snake our pipes every 1-2 yrs. He did the job right. Gradually fed the snake as it turned and once the 75' snake reached its end, he ran it for a good 5 minutes so the snake scrapped the walls of the pipe. He also ran hot water.
In the past (before I understood the right way) we had other plumbers not do the above so they can UPSELL you on hydrojet which is $400 - $1000. They would run the snake, stop and push it 2 feet and not run it long enough. So it will clog in 6 months and they come back and upsell you on hydrojetting. For some places its a bit of a scam. Some come out with cameras etc. Thanks John!

This shop is a complete scam. I had the exact same experience as previous reviews on the sales process. Thankfully I thought the quotes were high from my research online and I was able to confirm that by having two other well reviewed and licensed plumbers come out. The price quotes from RooterHero were 8-10X higher so while I get the owner claims they may not be the cheapest, I think they are ripping people off. I would also add that what they told me was the problem ended up not being correct at all so I would have paid 8-10x for the wrong solution.

The unfortunate part is that I heard of these guys from my mom who paid them a similar 8x more than other plumbers charge to replace a water heater. She was not so lucky and ended up hiring them to do the job.

I will be helping her file as many claims against the company as we can figure out how.

After writing this review, I did further searching on Yelp. There are reviews similar to mine and other reviews here for locations of RooterHero all over the country. While it's just my opinion, this would lead me to believe that these sorts of business practices are standard and not just one-off scenarios. Please look around for yourself. Had a kitchen sink clog and emailed Rooter Hero about it. They quickly responded within 20 minutes and set up a same day appointment. A few hours later, Adam arrived promptly within the time frame we arranged and took care of the clogging (by means of snaking) in a professional manner for $77.

He did also offer to go into the crawl space to inspect the pipes for any potential damages for an additional $399. Seeing that this was the first time we had problems with the kitchen sink, we turned it down. But will go back if this becomes a persistent problem.

I took off a star because when asked what's causing the clog and how it could be prevented in the future, Adam seemed disinterested or lacked the knowledge to educated me on the topic. Otherwise, job well done!

Time for an update,
And wow do they deserve FIVE BIG STARS AGAIN!
Tony saved the day again.

We were having a water back up issue in our shower, we called rooter hero and requested tony again as he has been to our home before and done a great job last time.
He came very quickly from the time the call was placed, within an hour all of our pipes were cleaned out and working again.
Told us all this knowledgeable information we needed to know so this wouldn't happen again.
Thank you tony! You are awesome, our go to man for all plumbing issues.

Today we had to call Rooter Hero Plumbing. We called around 8:30 am., the lady who took the call was very nice and helpful, she said someone was going to call us back within an hour, we got a call from the dispatcher within 15 minutes to let us know someone was coming within an hour. A gentlemen by the name of Julio Aquilar arrived within 30 minutes, he knew what he was doing and used the proper equipment and cleared the clogged drain in less then an hour. Julio seem very knowledgeable, professional and very clean.

Like the previous reviews...

Run as fast as you can away from these guys. These are a bait and switch con scam. I usually do not write negative reviews, but when you run into a business like this group of con men you have to protect the miss informed Home owner.

They send out a tech, he then looks and then calls the con. The first guy says I am calling my field manager, he will give you all the options. I should have immediately told them to leave, but that old feeling of I gone this far so I will stick it out, oops.

The field manager comes out and gets garbed up to go under the house to give me an estimate. First thing I noticed, he doesn't have a tape measurer.

Now mind you this is a small nick in the galvanized pipe, a mist leak, about a foot from the valve. The floor and access to everything is completely open.

So he comes back, stating they have to go back to the union to replace the pipe, remember no tape measurer. It's way in the front of the house. He is going to give me 3 options, oh boy. I don't exactly remember the numbers but you will get the roundabout numbers of 12K to just fix the one pipe, 18K to replace the hot water run, and 23K to replace all the pipe. Of course all the scare tactics.

Ah, when I hit him with you did not even take a tape measurer with you underneath the house to measure the copper length, his response oh copper is not that expensive. What??????? Geez 50 feet of is $65 at Home Depot..

So my response is get out of here(clean version)

They didn't show up until 10:26am
The tech name David .
He worked 10 to 20 minutes and said i can not fix it or unable or take an advantage senior citizen said we have to call his team coming for inspection cost me 325.00
and 2000.00 to replace sewage pipe from Kitchen sink to sewage pipe.
I told him no thanks.
Called other plumber take care slow drain in 10 minutes and charged me $70.00

A few weeks ago i called this business to help me fix an issue with a pipe leaking in my ceiling. A guy came and told me yes we can see one of the pipes is leaking. I asked him to show me because he brought his tool to see through the wall. The guy just flashed the tool in my face saying did you see that? I never saw anything but the guy wanted me to pay more than 2000 dls.

Later on I found out that the issue was not in the pipes but the washer machine was leaking. I fixed the washer machine and the issue is gone.. So the guy was clearly lying to me and wanted me to pay 2000+ for nothing.

At the bottom of the estimate says If you are unhappy with the provided service please call (888) 929-4376 and ask for the Operations
Manager. Please allow him/her 24 hours to get back to you, if you don't hear from the Operations
Manager by then please call the Owner at (818) 925-6096.

If you're a resident plumbing service. Please keep it residential. Take on a job too big for yourself. Took my money, left a mess, all the plumbing wasn't up to code. As soon as Rooter Hero found out that the job is done incorrectly. They vanished, no reply, no calls. Gabe... supposedly the region manager. We are reporting rooter hero to the State board. Unethical work and scam for big projects.

This review is rather atypical. Because of a hiccup on my side, I couldn't actually use Rooter Hero service but can review their response time and scheduling professionalism. I had a sewer line emergency on Friday 11pm. Next morning I called another drain company (just call it Company S for this review) per friend recommendation. That company S only has answering service. For customers in emergency situation, response by voice message is very difficult. I waited for company S till Saturday afternoon, and finally decided to call somebody else. I found Rooter Hero. The experience is totally different. Whenever I called Rooter Hero, they always had a live person to answer, to look for available technicians in my area, and made scheduling. I also got a text message with the technician name who was on the way to my house. It is very assuring. It shows Rooter Hero is a professional business.

Then thing took a unexpected turn, the other company S showed up at my door without calling, several minutes before Rooter Hero arrived on time. I didn't check carefully the company logo on Company S van, and let them start the work right away. So when Rooter Hero arrived, I realized I made a mistake. They responded to my emergency professionally but I couldn't use their service. It's my fault. Later I called to offer them a voluntary service charge, but Rooter Hero nicely declined it. So I want to share this story and give good rating on their availability, response, and professionalism.

I had my business with the company back in 2016, was originally pleased with the services until last week when the drain broken and water over flow everywhere in my backyard. I looked back the receipt and called them up as I thought I was supposed to cover for 10 years part and 5 years labor warranty. The person came to my house, take a look at it and said the pipe for hot water was installed wrong and not under their warranty. They looked at the receipt and said back then, the pipe was there already and they just rerouted and adding drain and such for the work. My problem is, I had them came and and pointed to them what I need, they run the whole line from my house to the guest house, if they saw or even notice the pipe was wrong, why didn't they say anything at that time, yet, continue doing without letting me know. I paid over $15,000 for their work and not even negotiate, so what is so hard to let me know the pipe is wrong and need another pipe instead?!?!? Then they charging me almost $1000 this time to have it fix while MVP only charges me $650. Never again Rooter Heroes. Very disappointed!!!!

I want to give compliments to Omar, who was sent to our home as the plumbing technician. Omar is very respectful considerate, and kind. Above all, he is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He walked me through step by step, answered my questions, and educated my family regarding our specific plumbing issue and how to prevent this issue from reoccurring in the future. During the entire process and repair, Omar was present and available. Omar worked diligently and was not in a rush to fix the clogged kitchen sink. He was thorough and detailed which was reflected in his demeanor and work. For any future repairs, I will definitely be utilizing Rooter Hero Plumbing and requesting Omar specifically. Again, I had a plumbing issue and decided to go with Rooter Hero Plumbing without any insight or recommendation. Although I was concerned due to people's personal plumbing stories, repairs, and nightmares, Omar and Rooter Hero Plumbing were the complete opposite. Cheers to Omar!

We called theses people on Monday to come out and hook up a ice maker. We just purchased a new refrigerator. Our old refrigerator had a ice maker but it stopped working. They came in the morning looking at the fridge and left to purchase something. They took all day but worked less than a hour. This cost me $702.00. I totally feel gouged. I woke up at 4 am this morning went to the kitchen for a glass of water to find a inch of water sitting on our new floors flooding all the way out to the garage down the driveway and into the rain gutter. I shut the water off took every towel in the house to dry up. Its still wet underneath making mold. The biggest problem is it look like the floors are
damaged in half the kitchen. I will wait to see if they improve. They said they would fix any problems with the floor. I will keep posted what happens.

So far I appreciate their quick response to my complaint. Hopefully the floor will look better as they dry out. I called Home Depo to come out and take a look. My new floors are water resistant, but I think being submerged under water for so long has damaged at least part of them. At this point as long as I finish this episode with my floors looking as they did before this started, I will be happy. It would make me so happy to be able to change this to a positive narrative. I would like to mention I called this company for this project because I had them out weeks before to clean out a bathroom drain. That guy did a great job and we were very happy. It's sad but most of the time if I have a good experience I say nothing, but if its a not so good experience I feel the need to voice my truth.

Do not use this company their are crooks, their not host people, they take advantage of older people and women. We had used them about a yr ago due to some plumbing issue that the told us had to do with how old are pipes were, so us being clueless and not getting a second opinion went through with it and they charged us 27,000 w/10yr warranty. Originally it was 32,000 but my grandmother is a senior and the gave us %15. Well recently had another incident where our toilet was getting clogged so we end up calling them since I re call that are documented stated that we get free clogging services. Well at first they were going to charges us $400 for them to unclogged the toilet but my grandmother told them no because we get free clogging services but apparently their was some wrong with the water level wasn't going down which indicated that something else was wrong so they called the specialist to bring the camera to show us what was in the pimps just as they did last time and they used the same like that are pipes are old and they gave us 4 different option from 2800 to 13,000. We were going to go with the cheapest which was to flush the pipes to get all the debris out and they told us the price was that much was because of the machine they used which was it was going to cost 2800 with a 1/warranty. But after speaking to our family members and friend they were telling us that they were over charging me and my grandmother and to call around for a second opinion. So I did came across a great honest family own business called fantastic rooter plumbing came out check everything and said that nothing was wrong with our pipes and he had showed (which I saw) me that the toilet had a part that was taken out making you think that the toilet isn't draining properly. Mind you I watch him and I clearly saw that the piece was out. I had no clue nor did rooter hero plumbing educated us on how to check if water level and to fix common issue that are easy to fix. Thankfully I was educated by the other company and was told that shady plumbing company do small things to make you think something is wrong. I wasn't able to watch rooter hero plumbing due to I had to step away from the house which I had left me grandma alone while they were here. Thankfully the other company saved us from paying 2,800 which is with senior discount originally was 3,200. I as well told the other company how much they charged us to get all new pipes and they said that they over charged us by a lot and he just did a job flushing Walmart pipes for 10,000. Never will I use this company again, always ask for a second opinion especially with this company since they overcharge and always watch what they are doing. Please be careful because now days their is not honest ppl in this world all they want is your money. Do your research about the company and reviewed. Don't want this to happened to your love ones.

I had a clogged bathroom drain. I called Rooto Hero Friday morning, and they were able to come out the same day! And early! Like in 2 hours. 12p-2p, pretty good considering it being a Friday. The repairman, Marco was very professional and pleasant. And he liked my dogs!
He had my drain working in no time at all. And he also pointed out issues that might come up later.
He was respectful of my property, and there was no mess afterwards. I'm changing to this company in the future. The prices are very good as well. Thanks Marco my drain is working better than ever!!!

I am a repeat customer, happy with the initial work done 3 years ago for a kitchen sink drain pipe, under the garage, which needed replacing. This time it was for a bathtub backed up with hair that I could not reach. The initial appointment was scheduled later that evening, but with the backlog that they had we rescheduled to the next afternoon. John arrived, looked at what work I had done and then got busy. In about 20 min. the drain was running clear, John had cleaned up the tub and was on his way to a call in Gilroy. We had no problem with waiting until the next day and were very happy with the price ($77) and the time it took to get the job done. John sent us an email receipt while I was walking back to the house.

We have been without house water since Thu night when the leak was first called in to Hero. Hero inspected the problem site and indicated in absolute terms they could effect repairs. Since then we have had 4 visits on site to repair the problem. As of this moment I am still without water 4+ nights. And Hero has been paid for repairs that are ineffective. I want to know when someone will be on site to successfully complete these repairs. I believe this is a completely reasonable request. As of 5 days into this ordeal I do not have water.

My bathtub spout was not working well and I did some DIY experiments, which made it even worse. My bathroom was unusable because of this and I contacted many Plumbing companies in San Jose. Many were busy and also quoted exorbitant rates, but finally I was lucky to call Rooter Hero. The lady who spoke to me was very courteous and was genuinely interested to help. Even when they did not have availability, they tried hard and gave me a late evening appointment. David Sanchez was the technician and he did a great job. He was quick, effective and the price was very fair. I would strongly recommend this company and David.

First, I would like to mention that I'm speaking on behalf of my mother. We had a pipe burst underneath our house which cause six inches of water to settle. Who knows how long it was there. The point is it's started smelling like a sewer in the house. We called a restoration company to have it cleaned out. Now the house smells like roses.

We were referred to this company to have our pipe fixed. The person who gave us a quote to fix the pipe gave us two options. He stated in his work order that the tech needed to break through the concrete to reach the broken pipe. If you refer to the picture you can see all the details of the work that needed to be done.

Once the work order was completed he quoted us first at $8300 dollars and the second quote at $15,465!!!!!

Obviously this was complete utter bullshit. So I went down under the house myself and found exactly where the leak was coming from. There IS NO CONCREATE UNDER THE HOUSE! It's fucking SOIL. I don't know what bullshit this company is playing, but it's obviously FRAUDULENT. I wouldnt be surprised if they charged someone else a ridiculous amount of money for a simple repair.

I will be reporting this company to the Contractor State License Board of California.

Look closely as the work order. The final estimate was 7300. It states in the work order that the deposit shall not EXCEED 10 percent. 10 percent of 7300 is $730. They wrote in the work order a 1000 dollar deposit!!!!

Alex was awesome! My main line backed up during the shelter in place, gray water coming up thru my shower and tub , and we only have one bathroom! Ahhhh! I contacted RH at 4pm on a Saturday, by 6:30 my drains were cleared and working great. Alex was professional and kept 6 feet away from my family even while my 3 and 5 year old were following him around and asking questions. He even hung out while I ran my washer to make sure the backup was clear! Thanks for saving us Alex!

Hate to say but they ask too much for the service and parts. 3-4 times higher than other plumbers. I can be overcharged only once. Will never use this company again.
They charged $920.72 for changing a garbage disposal. $351.16 for changing a pop up and got the problem in two weeks. I waited for 3 days and the technician finally came. He quoted $700 for changing the faucet. I realized I was overcharged. I paid $200 to other plumber to change the new faucet and the pop up was useless and thrown away. Overcharging without limit is my first expression.
I got the call from the manager the same day I posted my review. He agreed to refund what they over-charged the first thing on the next day. But until now nothing happened. Unreliable is my second comment about this company.

Wow - great service! I called in the morning, the Rooter Hero truck pulled up in front of my house two or so hours later, and my pipes were unclogged in no time flat. The price was both agreed upon in advance of the work, and also reasonable. Oh, and Adam, the plumber who did the work, was both pleasant and clearly knowledgeable.

Called about 10 am and made appointment for 2-4, no call no show, I called to see if they were running late at 4:15 they were waiting for a technician. I can understand, said they would call when that happened. 6 pm no call so I call they give same answer. They call at 9 to tell me technician will be out at 11pm, I have no water so I'm like ok I have no choice . Then calls right back to tell me the technician does not have what he needs to do my job,,,,,he needs a crescent wrench and a pipe wrench! It's a water pressure regulator that I bought already! Don't waist your time!

Today I interviened and had my 85 year old mom's plumbing problem fixed by ANOTHER company for $810.00 in just an hour!!!

Rooter Hero Plumbing provided the FREE SEWER INSPECTION and provided my mom 6 options to fix her leaking main sewer line.
Rooter Hero Plumbing offered:
two options of WARRANTIES a 5 year warranty or 10 year warranty
and 3 PRICE RANGES.

The Rooter Hero Plumbing 6 quotes ranged from $6,054.94 to $15,208.70 were from November 15, 2017.

$810.00 ALL WORK DONE TODAY, IN ONE HOUR, BY ANOTHER PLUMBING COMPANY

I have called AND emailed Rooter Plumbing for a response to why the differences in price, are different parts used depending on warranty chosen by client, and to provide evidence to support their claim my 85 year old mom's main sewer drain is broken.

My water heater sprung a leak this morning. Water wasn't dripping out, it was pouring out.

I called Rooter Hero Plumbing and Adam Colon was at my house in a few hours. He diagnosed the problem, went to pick up the part, and the leak was fixed in a short period of time.

The company is great. There is a very nice and professional lady who schedules the appointments, and Adam is terrific.

I called Roto Hero last week to come and take care of a slow draining shower drain. They gave me a two-hour window for a technician to arrive; when it was 1/2 hour past the end of the window I called to see what happened, since no one showed up or contacted me. 30 minutes later the company dispatcher called and said someone would be over within the hour. I cancelled, since I had to leave the house.

Yesterday I called to reschedule an appointment for today, with a 10-12 window. The same thing occurred. No one here by 12:30 and not even a call to tell me they would be late, so I cancelled again.

Completely unreliable - I would go to anyone but Roto Hero for a plumbing problem.

My bath tub/show drain had been draining slowly for a while. I knew I had to call someone. I have been seeing the ad for $77 unclog any drain she said they would send someone out to give me an estimate. I was thinking why would I need an estimate for something they would do for $77 but I didn't say anything at the time. I had an appointment for the next day between 9 & 11 am. The plumber showed up right at 11 am. I was getting a little worried at that point but my worries were put to ease as soon as I went to the door to let Michael in. He was a very knowledgeable, friendly and polite. I asked why they said that that this was an estimate and he explained that the service was for a straight forward pipe cleaning. Meaning that if it could be cleared with a simple snake of the drain, $77. If they had to unclog from a different point it would cost more. (i.e. roof access or other clean out pipe). Luckily for me he was able to clean out the clog with the snake. I appreciated the fact that he did not try and upsell anything or say that I need additional work. He said if I had any problems with the drain backing up to let him know and he would take care of it. He cleaned up everything and when he was done showed me that the drain was working perfectly.

I want to give a big shout out to my plumber Michael. Next time I have any plumbing issues, I will request him! Thanks Roto Hero!

I have never had to use a plumber before and after seeing the prices I was overwhelmed. After hours of troubleshooting with google and possibly complicating my situation further, I bit the bullet and checked the responses for the request on a quote Yelp automatically sent out to the top nearby plumbing companies. Not only did Rooter Hero plumbing respond within the hour, the information and options they provided, as well as resources for current discounts they had accessible on there website(following my expressed concern regarding prices), was the kind of service you would expect from a mom and pop shop or friend- honest, informative, and understanding.
John came that evening and within ten minutes everything was back to working order. He was so great I let even more of my pride down and asked if he could install the garbage disposal I had bought months prior after mine broke- something I was still absolutely positive that Google and me would be successful at fourth try around.
I cannot tell you how great this experience was- as someone who is fiercely independent and likes to know how to take care of things myself- John didn't mind me watching and learning, nor did it slow him down. He explained how my piping worked and was super flex on time. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, and honest- he was upfront about cost and transparent with what was necessary to do and what I could hold off on(not my apartment). He didn't try and recommend additional services and even let me know some specifics on the type of sink faucet I should buy(mine leaks horribly)- a great boost for my next attempt to install hardware I have no business doing- I'm sure shortly before I contact them again and request John's help for a faucet install.
Possibly the best experience I've had when needing a super/maintenance tech/professional to fix something in a place I've lived.

Don't make the same mistake that I did. I learned the hard way, and it cost me a lot of my hard earned money. In summary, I ended up paying about $450/hr to have my pool deck drains cleaned. I asked them to stop the job before it was finished, because they wanted to charge me even more for some special tool to use when they found some roots in the line.
The service guy spent a lot of time asking my wife how much our pool cost, and other personal questions, which made it seem like he was probing us to see how much money we make, so they could charge us more.
Then, as the final insult, they broke one of my nice brass drain covers (how do you break a brass cover?). I gave them the receipt, and they promised to deduct it from the invoice. But they never did.
Update: They did end up reimbursing me for the broken drain.
Stay away. I can't recommend this outfit.

I researched 2 different companies and got quotes from both. I decided to go with Rooter Hero Plumbing because of their great employees!
Sal and Mario were professional, and very detailed. They went underneath my home and took pictures of the pipes and the damage that was done. They went so far as to insert the camera into the pipes and show me live footage of the different areas that were damaged. They gave me 3 different proposals and explained the difference. After we made our decision, they started to work immediately. It was a 1 1/2 day job, and when they finished, they left everything clean. Last summer, 2019, my husband and I decided to hire a company to change all the pipes under the house to copper. I explained to them that I had some major work done summer of 2018 so some of the work wouldn't be necessary. Manny, the owner of the plumbing company went under, and found all the work with the exception of 1 pipe was not done. I explained I saw photos of completed work? Evidently they weren't from my home. t took many, many phone calls and documented photos to get a return call. Eventually our money was returned in full, but it wasn't easy. This second time was a bigger job and the work done and customer service was awesome. Edgar Mata was so friendly, knowledgable, and hard working. Juhuru from Rooter Hero Plumbing came over today to fix a leak in the shower that has been going on for years. I had called two other plumbing companies in the past. One of them said that the shower seemed fine and it was likely due to a problem with the water softener. The water softener technician came over, serviced the water softener and said that this had no effect on the shower inside in terms of pressure. Another plumber then came over, looked at the shower, and said I needed a pressure regulator. I then called Rooter Hero Plumbing. They showed up today. They fixed a part inside the shower handle and put on a new shower handle. This fixed the problem. So, so very simple. Thank you Rooter Hero and thank you Juhuru.

Rooter hero arrived at my rental property to fix a simple plug at our washing machine drain. It should have been a quick $77 rooter yet - rooter hero decided to try and take advantage of a property owner that was out of town (Me) The manager explained that my pipes were old and there was a plug that was rock solid - snaking would not work / he offered a several thousand dollar pipe replacement which I declined - he followed up with A $400 camera service and a $700 power flush that he explained was the only way to clear the hard plug. The manager explained that the plug would not clear without a $700 power flush. They scheduled the $700 power flush on Monday afternoon. I flew into town on Monday morning before rooter hero arrived - I simply placed our garden hose in the washing machine drain and started running water - I quickly reached full hose flow with NO BACKUP AND NO BLOCKAGE. The Original $77 rooter service had worked fine . I crawled under my rental property and discovered that all of my pipes were updated abs and were in excellent shape ( rooterhero told me my pipes were old and needed replacement - they claimed to have a video to prove it yet were unable to send the video :(. I called rooterhero and informed them that my pipes were working perfectly after the $77 snake service and wanted to know why they had demanded a $700 flushing service later that day. The manager seemed surprised that I was in town and that I knew my pipes were all updated . He quickly apologized and claimed it was all a big mistake . He instantly zeroed out my bill- no charge for snake or power flush - my entire service was free. Were They worried I would report them for fraudulent activity? Long story short - rooter hero attempted to rip me off for several thousands of unneeded repairs then they reduced it to $700 of unneeded flushing and $400 of camera work. It was a con a rip off a sham! They ended up crediting me for all of their snaking services . Rooter hero should be shut down for fraud and misrepresentation. They prey on desperate consumers at their time of need - these guys are scum bags - don't believe anything they say or recommend . I have documentation to prove all of my claims and welcome any challenge from this awful company. If you've received a fat bill from rooter hero challenge it - hire a home inspector to validate their claims . RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

Last Sunday my showers backed up and the toilets wouldn't flush! I called Rooter Hero at 2:30pm and they were out by 4:00pm. The technician, Luis, was friendly and was confident he could get to the root of the problem and he did! His Supervisor, Sal, also came out and sent a camera down the pipe to show us exactly where the issue was.
Their price was fair and the work was done quickly!

To Mr. Akhorian, the owner of Rooter Hero, perhaps instead of responding to critical reviews with self-aggradation and empty platitudes about your company and your employees, you could focus on addressing the issue: your apparent scamming and conning of vulnerable customers including senior citizens:

Just look at the critical reviews on Yelp to get a sampling of the unethical and shady business practices that occur often. For example,
(1) you don't honor published discount coupons:
(2) you overcharge for minor and major work;
(3) you use pressure tactics in an attempt to get commitments for future work;
(4) you discourage efforts to get second opinions (probably because the other opinion would show the additional work is not required as others have mentioned);
(5) you perform allegedly shoddy work that needs to be redone (as mentioned by others)
(6) you don't keep scheduled appointments nor do you call to re-schedule;

Maybe you should spend more time addressing these concerns and the image and reputation of your company would improve and you would receive fewer negative Yelp reviews.

I called them as I had an emergency in a commercial building. The initial plumber, Gabe was unable to clean out the clog in the sewer line. I was no longer at the location but he told me he was pulling up mud and that he had used several different attachments with blades on his snake and everything that came up was just mud - to him indicating a broken line. He then said his supervisor could come out (for an additional charge) and use a specialty tool that has a camera. His supervisor called me and verified the initial claims that Gabe stated however there was a discrepancy in the story...Gabe told me it was 30 or 40 feet towards the street, the supervisor said it was 30 feet from the back of the building - a major difference when you are discussing a possible sewer line failure.

The property owner then went to the property as we were told the cost to fix was going to be significant ($10,000 range) and we had to shut down all the businesses in the complex. When the property owner arrived, the story didn't make sense and the supervisor refused to show pictures from the camera. He then decided to call a different plumber who came out and snaked the line again. It took him about 10 minutes and he pulled up wipes, not dirt. There was nothing wrong with the line.

So, three businesses were shut down and lost money and Rooter Hero tried to scam us into spending approximately $10,000 into unnecessary work (and the businesses would have been shut down for two days). The work was completed within 10 minutes by a different plumbing company.

TLDR: Rooter Hero will scam you into unnecessary work. Never use them.

I reached out to Lyndee and heard back from both Lyndee and Ron, the local manager. They were very professional and seemed eager to win my business, so I agreed to get a toilet installed through them. They indicated there was a toilet available but had to confirm, and we tentatively made an appointment for Friday, 10/11. On Thursday, 10/10, so I called Ron to check the status of the toilet and told him I actually preferred to meet on Monday, 10/14. He told me they were still trying to locate a toilet. Monday came and I still had not heard anything so I went out and bought a toilet from Home Depot and installed it myself. On Tuesday, 10/15, I got a call from their office telling me they located a toilet and wanted to set up an appointment, but it was already too late for me.

I was happy that the company reached out and was willing to work with me, but I really expected a plumbing company to be able to get a toilet much faster. Home Depot had an entire row of toilets in stock. I know each company has its own procurement process but sometimes the customer can't wait several days for something as common as a toilet. If the procurement process isn't flexible enough to meet customer demand, then perhaps some changes should be made.

So the million dollar question - will I use Rooter Hero again? It depends. If I had a drain clog that needs to be snaked, I would not hesitate to call them up. However, if I had a more complicated plumbing situation that required replacement parts (water heater, toilet, repipe, etc.), I would probably go with another company that could get parts right away.

I'm increasing my original review by one star because I thought it was considerate of them to reach out after reading my original review. But in the end, they did not deliver within a reasonable timeline. Ironically, while this was going on, I received another coupon in the mail from them for the exact same toilet promotion.

Beware! 3 guys spent 4 hours and although they replaced some pipes under the house, they charged $5250 for one year guaranty. If I had paid $8000 they would have guaranteed for 3 years. I am 82 years old on a fixed income and feel taken advantage of. The city is coming out to inspect the work and I will be asking more questions then. I will say the men who did the work were polite. But as I said beware. That was $450/hour per person.

They identify the problem and solution with professional and friendly manner. They followed up after I purchased the new faucet and came back and installed it with no issues. They only charged for the installation with competitive rate which included taking the old faucet and disposing it. They told me to call them immediately if I had any issues. So far no issues.

So after a fishy experience with another company, we decided to get a second opinion. The first guy that came out ( John ) was extremely professional and diagnosis the problem Unfortunately he was not able to fix it, but he said that his supervisor would be able to come out in a little bit. Marco was our hero! Our condo's release valve was clogged and he was able to snake and resolve the issue in a short amount of time. He was also able to fix the drip under our kitchen sink. We were very impressed by Rooter Hero's top notch customer service when we called for a consultation, the text notification when the technician was on his way and all COVID safety measures enforced. I had terrible experience. Two guys came, worked on my kitchen sink, it was drained slow. Before they start one of the guy asked me where is the access to go under the house. I asked back, why you need to know now, mine is just slow, usually if you use the snake, it will opens. They tried to get more money from me.
They started work and made so much noise under my house, like scraping pipes. I thought they are going to break our pipes. Anyway they finished.
Next morning I saw my kitchen sink was completely backed up. Worse than it was before they did.
I called them, they said they are going to send people 8-10AM. Nobody showed up. I called again, they changed the time 10AM-12PM, nobody showed up, this repeats till 5:30PM. Nobody called me back. Around 6:30PM I give up and made an appointment with another plumbing company.
All day I could not to go work and stock in the house.
Next morning the other plumbing company came solved problem easily. Nothing big job, they used snake same as Rooter Hero used.
Rooter Hero called me after I solved the problem, said they are going to send people. After 2days later! I asked them money back. They said ok, but I did not see the amount credit back to my account for over 10 days. I ends up dispute my charges.

Rooter Hero to the rescue! I sent a message out on yelp for help with my dishwasher not draining and received a message back within a few minutes. John and Abraham were able to come a few hours later and were amazing. Although they typically don't work on appliances, they were able to clean my dishwasher filter and then figure out and fix how it connected to the sink and garbage disposal. They were patient, polite, kind and determined which I really appreciated! Not only did they take their time to make sure the job was completed, the price was as reasonable as could be!!! I had John Castaneda as the service technician to unclog our kitchen sink. He is professional and courteous. He explains the situation and give the estimate to honor the special $77 since we have clean out right under the sink. He used the snake tool and pushed all the way 75 ft. I have used other plumbers in the past, but he really stands out from other where some are lazy or stop the snake as soon as clog clear.
He cleaned up after the work is completed. I highly recommend him and will only ask for him in the future.

Our Kitchen sink was backing up and not draining properly. Found Rooter Hero Plumbing via Yelp. Called phone number to schedule a Sunday appointment at 8:00am. Was advised to expect a service visit call today Sunday between 11:00am to 1:00pm. Then at 11:30am received a phone call from dispatch to advise that only one technician was working, and they could not make the scheduled appointment and asked if I want the service on another day. Wow what a waste of time. A bad customer service experience from the consumers perspective. I would not recommend this plumbing service.

I had a $77 drain cleaning coupon received in the mail. Called for an appointment on Friday & scheduled for Saturday between noon & 2pm. I immediately received a text confirming the Saturday appointment. On Saturday at 12:15pm I received a live phone call saying the technician would arrive in 30 minutes. I also received 2 text & 2 email messages saying he was on the way. Technican arrived at 12:55pm & got right to work unclogging the drain. He was COVID-19 prepared with mask, gloves & wore shoe coverings in my home. It was an easy fix unclogging the drain but also explained how a pipe has started to get internal corrosion that will continue to cause the drain to run slower than normal. A new pipe would cost $340 that I was not prepared to spend right now & need to get other quotes. I also received a quote to install a gas shutoff valve for a BBQ island grill I am planning to purchase in my backyard (gas line is already installed). The quote was a whopping $800 & that's not including the other pipes needed to run under the island. Overall the experience was good, the timeliness & notices of arrive appreciated! Technician Jonathan was knowledgeable, professional & personable. I would recommend this company for small jobs but have no experience with larger jobs. However, the quotes received to replace the pipe under my sink & quote for the gas shutoff valve appears a bit high.

Fantastic service from Rooter Hero all the way around. Sal the project manager was excellent and Eddie, the guy who did all the work, was superb. Together, they were communicative, friendly, helpful, and on time.

There were two massive jobs Rooter Hero ended up having to do for the house. One huge job was replacing all the old galvanized pipes, which were original to the house that was built in 1947. They arrived immediately after the back up, snaked the pipes and then showed me the inside of them with a camera they had snaked in. The pipes were so old, you could barely see the semblance of a pipe. It was entirely filled with roots :(. Oh no, Oh no, Oh no, is what I thought. This is NOT what you want your pipes to look like when you put a camera in them. My blood turned cold. I knew this would be a massive job. They gave several quotes that offered a number of options to go with, so you could choose the level of work they would do and the benefits and risks of doing less work versus more work. Also, every option comes with a warranty.

For that first job, they dug up the entire side yard, and pushed away tan barks and removed pavers. Yes, there was dirt everywhere in piles and the yard looked terrible, but still, they kept everything as tidy as possible. The job took a whole week, and was thwarted by rain. But in the end, they put it all back, soil, tan barks, pavers and all - nicely. Then, underneath that soil and tan barks were sparkling new, root free pipes. Yay. For now.

As some serious (un)luck would have it, a few days after that job was done, a leak sprang in a water carrying pipe under the house. You could see that it was rusted in that spot, so it really was a perfect storm of all pipes going awry at the same time (again, because they are about 70 years old). Same thing, Sal and Eddie came out. They tried to get the job done as quickly as possible so the water wouldn't be off for too long. It took several days, and they went over and beyond and stayed until 1 in the morning the last day to complete the whole job so that there would be water the next day when it was supposed to storm. Like the first job, they offered a number of quotes and replaced all the rusted out water carrying pipes with sparkling new ones. Yay. Yay again. This time for real.

Did replacing the whole entire plumbing system of the house cost a pretty penny? Yes. It did. A very pretty, pretty penny in fact. Despite that, Rooter Hero had competitive pricing and really, the best prices around for what they offered. Better pricing than all other places. They returned a few times since to check the pipes and have offered extra attention to the work they did. Great job Rooter Hero. Yay. Five stars.

I would like to share my positive experience with Rooter Hero plumbing. They were very quick to come our house for water heater issue.
Mario from the Rooter Hero came early morning to see the problem.
We came to know the water heater is bursted. Our Cabinet was all wet and water all over the drywalls. He was at my place almost over a day to drain the 48 Gallon water heater and pulled it out of the closet area so we could dry out the walls and area of the property. His Manager, Sal also came by to give estimate to replace best water heater to us.
I highly recommend Rooter Hero for their prompt, professional and helpful services with reasonable charge.

Our kitchen sink was backed up by my own doing (threw a bunch of stuff down the disposal).

Wasn't able to get our usual plumber out on New Years Eve, but I called these guys before 12pm and they had a slot between 2-4. They actually called to say they could come earlier, which was fantastic!

Omar showed up and was friendly, clean, and straight forward.

He had 1 look at the problem and after a few taps on his iPad, showed me how much it would cost. It was a lot more than I thought, and I did see on this page a $77 drain deal. I mentioned this to him and he asked me to show it to him and he changed the cost to $77. Easy peasy.

He kept the area clean, did what he needed to do in about 40 minutes, and I gave him a cheque. Super easy transaction.

If this happens again (after the 30 days that they guarantee of course), I won't hesitate to have him out!

This company just sent a tech to my house for garbage disposal diagnostics. I was told in writing by the owner that diagnostics is free of charge. So I asked very specifically what the cost would be to come out even if we end up not hiring them; again I was told that the tech would just leave and would be free of charge. All I asked for was diagnostics to see if the repair /replacement is reasonable once they quoted me. I had two different companies quote me $295 and $325 and they said that was labor AND unit cost. Rooted Hero quoted us over $900 to replace the same exact disposal that we have and when we asked for the cheapest unit, it was still $700. Just their labor is over $500. So obviously we said hell no. The tech that came out tried to charge us $77 for coming out and I told him that I have in writing your employer telling me that this was free of charge. He said the $77 was for unclogging our sink but the diagnostics was free. Again, I have in writing that we only asked for diagnostics and not any extra work that you could charge us for. He said that he was not told that this trip out was only for diagnostics so he was pretty disappointed that he had to jiggle an Allen wrench under the disposal to unclog our sink and not get the $77 from us. That might be an issue he should take up with his employer since he was the one that told us this trip out was FREE. To summarize, DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE HIRING THESE PEOPLE. Labor JUST for replacing the disposal is OVER $500. This does NOT include the unit cost. Go elsewhere please.

Had a backed up toilet the evening before I was bringing home a family member from the hospital. I contacted 4 plumbers to see if I could get someone over to unclog the toilet right away. Rooter Hero was the only company that was able to come over within a couple of hours and take care of the problem. The service person..Edgar Atayde, was very efficient and professional. Introduced himself, handed me his business card and assessed the problem right away. He even honored an expired coupon that I had. He had protected the floor and his shoes upon entering and when he was done told me if I had any more problems with it, he'd come back to service it at no cost, within 30 days. Never call this company! They are a nightmare. I called them for a clogged drain. First of all, they were 1 1/2
hours late and I had to call to see if they were ever coming. The technician came out and was unable to use a snake to clear the drain from the outside. He claimed it was a problem that he would have to solve under my sink. He left for 1 1/2 hours to get a cloth to put under the sink so he wouldn't get anything wet. He then said that he need to change the pipe under the sink. I asked him how much this would cost and he said $287.00 (the original quote to snake the drain had been $77). He proceeded to do his job and I went to work. When I got home from work my husband said he charged us not only the $287 but an additional $405.95. I called to complain. and spoke to the manager. I told him that I had been quoted $287. He finally agreed to refund the $405.95. I have called twice since that initial call and they keep telling me that they are working on the refund. I have yet to receive it.

In addition I had to call and have them come out 3 more times because the pipe that they keep installaing keeps leaking.

I think this company creates problems so that they can charge more money after they come out. Their technicians also are inept and have no idea what they are doiNg.

Used the get a quote feature on YELP and got a response within minutes. To my surprise Rooter Hero was open on a Sunday and they dispatched someone within 2 hours. Michael provided excellent service, he was wearing face-covering/mask put booties on and sanitized my sink after he was done. We had a very backed up kitchen sink and I was so relieved to have it taken care of today. To my surprise, there was a $77 coupon for drain cleaning on the router hero website. I was so happy to not have the situation cost me an arm and a leg. Michael went out of his way to communicate all his steps, he was pleasant and courteous. When Michael was finished he spent a good 5 minutes sanitizing the sink area, faucet, etc. Really good to see all the precautions he took to ensure his safety and ours. I felt very comfortable having Michael in my home. I will use Rooter Hero in the future for any plumbing needs.

Please don't use the company. I had a broken valve in the backyard water pipe because my contractor accidentally dropped a piece of furniture he was moving on it. They came out and gave me an estimate of $1200.00! My contractor told me to say NO. So I told them I would find someone else. Then he left and 10 minutes later came back and said he would do a temporary fix for $250. I had him do it because I needed water and my regular plumber was out of the area till the next day. I called my regular plumber and told him what they were going to charge me and he was shocked. He said he could fix it for me the proper way for less than $150. The tech that came out from Router Hero gave me a story about they are expensive because they have to pay insurance and are bonded, blah blah blah! What a rip off. I'm a senior too and they totally took advantage of me. Im glad I didn't pay the $1200 and just did a temporary fix for $250 which was even a rip off.

I would give 0 star if I can. Terrible company from technicians to the supervisor.
The customer service would set up the same day appointment with you but the technician will never show up. Do not believe technician will show up late evening and weekend.
My first appointment was May 13 6-8 pm and the technician show on May 14 noon. This is my investment and tenants has a clogged toilet. Technician called me and said it would cost me $329 to fix. I told him I have other plumber came before charged me $150. He immediate matched the price for $179 and said my pipes have problem if I want to pay extra to use camera. I said no camera but I did not tell the technician I did it with other plumber and nothing wrong with the pipes. After the technician finished he told me there is 3 months warranty. On Aug. 1, my tenant called me he has same problem. The second technician showed up on Aug 3 to fix the clog. Less than 2 weeks, Aug. 15, my tenant called me again and said same problem came back.This time I requested to talk to the supervisor because I was dissatisfied with the service. The supervisor called me back, OMG this is the worst person I ever talked. He kept saying my pipes have a problem when the technician told me to repair. I asked him your technician never checked my pipes how do you know my pipes have a problem. Then he said your warranty is over you need to pay to do the service again. I can not believe this is license plumbers and their job just lasts 3 months. I am out of my warranty for 1 day.

FYI, I called Value Rooter for the same job, and I paid only $77. Job Well Done!!! I know who to call next time. Definitely not the HERO.

I seldom need plumbing services but after calling Star Rooter and got no return call (twice-and the answering service didnt know anything either) I called Rooter Hero. Talked to a very knowledgeable lady and said the dispatcher would get back soon. Within 10 min they called and sent tech Victor and said he would be here in 30-40 min. Victor arrives right on time and very professionally knew what machine to use to clean out my mainline and was done within 15 min and got me running again. He followed all covid 19 protocals. I would give 6 stars to Victor if I could. This was all accomplished on a Sat afternoon from 5-6pm. If you can get Victor you should. And he works for the company, not as a contractor as so many in this field are. Thank you Victor!

Sending in an update.

Owner contacted me after posting the previous review and was very courteous. He offered to refund the charge and also reimburse for the parts I had to buy by myself asking me if I can change the review.

I was also told that instead of sending in plumber, they had sent a drain technician which explains why the person who showed up had no idea about parts and how to fix the leakage.

His office as usual never reimbursed for the parts and I had to follow up with credit card company on the dispute process. I would have been happy at least if they would have followed up as the owner said, but looks like owner has no control over his staff.

Yesterday we had a gentleman Johnny Castaneda come to fix our clogged sewer drain pipe. I call the main number and they told me that someone would be out to repair/clean the drain between 9:30-10:00 am. Johnny arrived on schedule and was very professional. He used the proper equipment and cleared the clogged drain in less that 1/2 hour. Friends of ours have used this same service in the past and recommended us to Rooter Hero. I felt the cost for the repair was very reasonable. I would strongly recommend Rooter Hero and Johnny Castandeda to others.

I rarely use a plumbing service. But had to use one today. So I called a place called Rooter Hero. I had heard their add on the radio, and decided to give them a call. They came out a few hours later, to fix a leaking toilet. Omar was the technician that came out. He was very professional, had a mask, and put booties on his feet, upon entering the house. He immediately showed me what was going on, and had it fixed a short time later. He also answered questions about a shower, and sink question I had, and was very knowledgeable. They really live up to their name, Rooter Hero!

Mario of came and said to just hold your hand over
opposite side of sink , turn water on, so pressure will not back up and clog other side. Sink cleared but...I still have ongoing problem but not totally clogged. I asked him to use the snake if needed. He said for $77 coupon he does not use the snake. I could pay more for that. I discover later that he should have.

I was having a problem with my main line to my plumbing backing into my house. I called Rooter Hero and they were prompt to come out within a few hours to help fix the problem. They were knowledgeable about what was happening and what further needed to be done. While their I mentioned that that my garbage disposal was broken and wasn't working either and the gentleman said I can look at that. He help me fix it also. As I had tried several times myself. Nowadays not many people go out of their way to help extra. This company and their service providers do. Even telling me they would be happy to put a call into my landlord to explain the exact problem more thoroughly to him. I will be using them again if needed in the future.

We called Rooter Hero for a clogged sink, and the price was excellent. However, we decided to call them to install our bathroom vessel sink, and it was absolutely over priced. The plumber was here for 5 hours, left more than once to get supplies. He didn't even replace the angle stops. $692 bucks worth. Am I the only one that thinks this is way over priced? Not to mention it took over 5 hours.

On Nov 2 at approx 3:30 PM, we called Rooter Hero to fix a clogged drain. We live up on the Summit. A gentleman named Eric & his helper arrived approximately 4:45 PM. Eric was courteous, knowledgeable and cooperative. He cleared the drain problem and accepted the stated amount, which was very reasonable, and did not charge us for travel time. They were gone by 5:45 PM. It can't get better than that.

Angel Vasquez did a great job! My neighbor's pressure regulator failed several of months ago and his house was flooded as a result of a midnight flush. Lots of damage and they moved out for several months. I had an old pressure valve and had wanted to switch it out for some time. I contacted several plumbers via Yelp. Most would not give me an estimate over the phone but for one. It was $500.00 with the regulator. Rooter Hero, via Yelp, said they would dispatch a plumber to give me a free estimate. I called, confirmed it was a free estimate and set a time. An estimate was my real intent since I thought it was best to hire from a smaller operation. That was until I met Angel Vasquez. From the moment we met he sensed that I was skeptical about anything and everything. As an older woman and new to hiring professionals, this was a big deal to me. He immediately put me at ease by explaining the job to me and answering all of my questions. He did not rush me to make a decision which I found refreshing. Then when he quoted me $335.08 for the work including the valve (Watts LFN45B-M1), I felt very comfortable about hiring him for the job. He finished in about an hour. But instead of leaving when the work was done, he asked me to turn on all the faucets to get all of the air bubbles out so he can be sure that everything was alright. It was. In general, not only am I a skeptical consumer, I am also very demanding. Angel Vasquez met all of my expectations and I would not hesitate to contact him for any future plumbing needs. BIG THANKS to Freddy Ponce and to Rooter Hero!

So I called one of the 5 star established plumbers about my stopped up bathtub drain. They came out, took off the drain access cover in the side of the tub and pulled it up to show me how old it was, pointing out that I had really old pipes that were likely rusted. So, they suggested replacing the pipes ($2100!) and said that snaking the drain probably wouldn't work (and would cost me ~$350!). I said no thank you.

A bit apprehensive, I picked up the $77 coupon for a Drain Cleaning from Rooter Hero. Would the low price equate to low quality? Would I regret it later? I figured I'd give it a chance, and a few hours later Freddy arrived. He was super friendly, assessed the situation, gave me my options, and let me know that the cleaning would be warrantied for 90 days. I gave him the thumbs up to start the work. One of the snakes kinked and got stuck, due to the U-shape of the drain (which the expensive 5 star place didn't want to attempt), so he let me know he was going to try again. He kept at it, and finally let me know he was done. At this point, I'd set my expectations low, that it wouldn't be cleared. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to a tub full of water, and he released the drain plug, and it all flowed down quickly!

Had 2 items to fix. Technician fixed only 1 item out of two.

Pros:
- Absolutely great and fast appointment setup and follow up handling.
- Item 1. Kitchen sink clogging was fixed

Cons:
- Item 2. Bathroom faucet needed tightening. Technician didn't have a right key to do the job. As a result I was left with same loose faucet. Sounds like an easy job but it wasn't done.
- Billing. Initially gave me estimate for both items. Then when one item was not fixed he didn't adjust billing saying ... that he gave me initial estimate based only one first problem. What a ... BS!

Service Technician Jose Romero arrived within an hour of placing a request with Rooter Hero, early on a Saturday morning. I experience intermittent issues with my shower/tub drain and on this particular morning, the water was draining very slowly. I had tried to clear the drain myself several months prior and had lodged a snake brush in the pipe (so much for trying to be DIY), and a different company's plumber came and assured me he had removed it.
Jose used his powered drain auger to snake the line and to my amazement, pulled up part of the brush that had supposedly been removed by the previous plumber. He cleared the clog and was finished in less than 20 minutes. He was very friendly, protected the area in which he worked and even cleaned off the surface around the drain. I appreciated his professional demeanor and would highly recommend him!
Oh and he was also able to hook it up with the $77 drain clearing charge! Can't beat that!

The hose that drains my dishwasher water into my kitchen drain was backed up with goop and was causing a blockage which wasnt allowing the water to drain properly. I called Rooter Heroes at 4:00pm and Omar was dispatched and at my house by 7! Speedy, prompt and reliable service! My 89 year old Mother clogged her drain in the Master Bathroom. I was a bit busy so I called Rooter Hero (it was difficult to pass their $77 offer to clean out a drain and also inspect the drain with a scope for FREE).

They were nice about everything. However, as they started to snake the drain I immediately noticed that they were using the incorrect bits on the snake. I mentioned to them that the bits that they were using would only push the debris further down without clearing the problem. However, they insisted that they were using the right equipment.

Shortly, the ENTIRE HOUSE became clogged and they proceeded to give my Mother five different quotes ranging from $7905 to $15,208.70 to fix the problem. I ended up saying no thank you and rented a snake at Home Depot to fix the problem (in less than an hour). It has been over several months now with no problems after I cleared the problem. I am hoping that my fellow yelpers are aware and that this company can learn and be a better more honest company in the future to support the community.

He went to Lowes and purchased another cartridge but the stem was too long, so the shower handle would pop out and in. Long story short, after of few months, I went to Lowes and bought the correct cartridge with the correct stem length. I should have called their office and had someone else return.

Want to pay upwards of $4000 MORE than what you need to? Call these guys.

Came out and diagnosed an old troublesome toilet as a problem in the waste line. This was AFTER running a scope of the line. They recommended replacing sections of the line which is a BIG deal.

Had 2 other guys come out and they both said, 'try changing this older toilet first. That may do it.' RH never said that.

6 months later and a new toilet at a total cost under $500, things are working smoothly.

Called Rooter Hero for our drains backing up. We used the coupon that we got in the mail. The appointment was scheduled, a text was sent to confirm the time, the tech called before arriving. The drains were unclogged and I was only charged the amount on the coupon and to top it off was given a 90 day warranty. As luck would have it our toilets and showers backed up again, 30 days later. We called again and were able to get someone out the same day. Their technician, David Sanchez arrived, put shoe covers on to protect my floors and ran the elect. snake to clear the drains again. David was very polite! They honored their warranty and did not charge for the service. We were able to use another coupon to run a camera down the drain to get a visual of the drain. Juan Romero the camera man, and David ran the camera as we watch on a monitor and low and behold we could see our 60 year old clay sewer drain, half collapsed in a couple sections. Juan identified with more equipment exactly where the damaged sections are and explained very clearly the work needing to be done. We paid the agreed amount for the camera detection and received an estimate for the work that needs to be done in the future to prevent more issues. Both David and Juan were extremely professional and took a couple hours to detect, fix and estimate the future work. We are so impressed with these guys that I would highly recommend them. We plan on hiring them again to conduct repairs in the future. Delightful guys, great company thus far.

If I ever have to call someone to clear our kitchen drain again (hopefully, not!) I would like it to go as well as it did this time. From making the initial call for an appointment to receiving the notification that a technician would be arriving within an hour to the service call itself, I couldn't have asked for it to go more smoothly or to be treated as well.

Our technician, Edgar, was very friendly and professional. He described what he found and why the clog may have developed. The job was completed in a reasonable amount of time.

Thanks to a coupon stuck on the front of The Mercury News we received the service at a discount, and the cleaning is guaranteed for ninety days. What a deal in all respects!

My review is long over due. I called Rooter Hero on 10/21/2018 for a clog in the sewer line. They came in very promptly, and the person was very courteous. After a couple of attempts to snake out the clog, and charging me $77 just for the attempt, the person said that the problem seems more involved and that he needs to bring a co-worker in to look via a camera for accurate diagnosis which would cost an additional $289. I sensed that Rooter Hero was not sincere in their attempt to fix the clog, and didn't bite on the additional charge for diagnosis and I am sure more charges for the actual repair.

I called another plumbing company. They quoted me $195 for the fix and were available to come in the same day. This time I made sure to ask them what their charge will be if they cannot fix the clog, and they said that they will charge me only if they fix the clog.

My advice to everyone wanting to use Rooter Hero or any other company for fixing sewer clogs is to ask them what they will charge if they do not fix the clog. If you don't hear a clear 'no charge if we don't fix it', then stay away from the company.

When you get a quote for a leaking bathroom faucet and its one of two options that cost either $2,800 or $2,300 you want to get a second opinion. When you get a second opinion and it costs $175 which included the cost of the replacement part @$125 you wonder how on earth the quote was determined. Maybe it was: Ok, this should take me a couple of hours and I'm $150 an hour so I'll charge $3K and see if that sticks.

I have been trying to reach their main office in regards to a bill. The number they gave me was 408 610 2125, the woman's name evidently is Lily, She never answers the phone as she is never there. They don't not check voice mail, nor do they return calls. They also gave me another number. 408-227-1630, and they do not answer their phone or return calls. Hows does Rooter Hero run a business office when there is no office personnel to help those of us who have given this company 28K to do a repipe job. I find it very inconsiderate with the amount we paid, and they flat out refuse to return a call. This is a terrible business practice.

My mother was having a problem with her garbage disposal. Sal and Mario came out at they time they said they would. When they came out they inspected the disposal and there was a smell. They ran a scope down the line and found out the sewer line was broken and waste was backing up. They offered me three options to deal with the problem and said they could do the work the next day in the morning. I decided to go with a full replacement. They offered 18 month interest free financing. The actual work took just 4 hours. The different workers were all professional, courteous and cleaned up. I was very impressed with the work they did.

We ended up having roots through our pipes and Julio was persistent and did not give up in trying to help clear the pipe. He ended to clearing it so that everything would drain. We called about a plumbing back-up. They quickly cleared the backup for the stated price on the coupon. (I forgot what it was, but very competitive). When I asked about inspecting the cause, they got another guy to run a camera thru the line at no extra charge, and showed us where roots were intruding. I was mentally prepared for the big sell to come next, but he told us it was right at the area where the city responsibility for sewer lines meets with the homeowners, and there was a good chance it would fall within the city's range to repair it. They said to check with the city, but they would send us an estimate if that didn't work. So, we are waiting on the city to get back to us.
Rooter did email us an estimate (expensive). But I liked that they did not take advantage of our immediate need to clear the lines and didn't give us a hard sell and also pointed out other options.

Will definitely not ever be calling this group again. We needed to have a quote for a pretty big job, so I had a flyer and called to schedule someone to come out. Mario came out and was very nice. THEN, Sal came out and was pushy. I was not told on the phone that there would be a fee for them to come give a quote...Mario told us initially that there would be no fee, then when Sal came out he said that there would be a $75 fee that they wouldn't waive. THEN they gave the quote which was $8000-$10,000. The other 2 companies which quoted me both came in at around $3,200.

Well, we didn't go with Rooter Hero, they did charge us the $75 fee, and they never actually gave us our quote!! I don't have a problem paying for someone to come out if they give us what they said they would. They were supposed to email the quote to us, and they never did. So we paid $75 for something they didn't deliver. They did finally give us a refund after several months.

A complete rip off. Compete liars at every turn.

I had a clogged toilet in the rear of the house. I called Rooter Hero. Their website had an offer of $77 for putting a camera in the line. But when they came they wanted $399 to put a camera through the line. My husband agreed to pay them this amount before I heard about it. They put the camera in the sewer line, from front of the house, near the street. They told me that this showed that the sewer line was broken in multiple places, caved in, not to code and that it would be $8,000 to $38,000 to replace it.

I work in the construction field and asked very specific questions about what exactly was not to code and asked to see on the camera where the line was supposedly broken. He played at showing me, moving the camera very quickly and saying see here, and here, and here. I did not see anything. He told my husband see these bugs flying out of the clean out. That means the line is broken. My husband, who was standing right there, did not see any bugs fly out.

After this event I had a plumber co/worker come. He had done the sewer line work for the bathroom in question, an addition. He found that the toilet trap way was clogged with calcium deposits. He went into the crawl space and looked for any smell or water or soft places in the dirt that would indicate a broken sewer line. He did not find any of those symptoms.

I got a new toilet and had another co-worker, who had the year before run a new sewer line in the kitchen part of the house that was subject to clogging with grease, installed it. He also went into the crawl space and checked for smell, water, soft spots and found none. The new toilet he installed works perfectly and we have no further problems.

I had asked for a copy of the receipt for the $399. I didn't get it. I asked by email again for this receipt. I was told they would send it but they didn't. In response to a text asking that I rating their service, I voiced my dissatisfaction with the lack of receipt, the lying etc. The owner called me back and said he would refund my $399 but it would take 2-3 weeks. I did get the receipt after that but I never got the refund. That was close to 9 weeks ago.

What can I say. They make up stuff to get you to buy work you don't need. They lie at every possible turn. Save yourself the trouble and upset. Use someone else.

Called them today because the washer overflowed yesterday and made a mess. They texted back right after the call and the tech called to say he would be there within the hour - he actually beat me back home! David Sanchez. Very friendly, explained what was going on re the fluid paths and what he would need to do. I still got the internet deal even though he had to move heavy stuff around to get at the trap. Warranty on the job. Explained their video scan services that help verify all is well with your drains. Highly recommend these folks!

I can not recommend Rooter Hero more highly. We had a pipe burst the day before Thanksgiving and they were over immediately to begin to work. They worked quickly but diligently to fix the problem and when it turned out that the damage was more extensive, they didn't blink. They hustled and got the necessary equipment and saved our holiday. The Night of 1/30/2017
Last night my sewer line backed up. As my regular plumber does not work on Sunday. I placed a call to Rooter Hero as they were the first plumber open and their ad was at the top of the list.

The dispatcher knew who I was because I was in their system because I had been a client in the past I said how so? When she told me who they were I should have hung up. I did not as the dispatcher went out of her way to convince me that not only the name has changed but that they now conducted business differently than before.

Long story short, The technician named George this time, came out and attempted to snake the drain pipe. Exactly the same. Make a horrendous loud grinding sound under the floor boards. He stood there for over half and hour and stated he could not get the snake through the pipe that there was an obstruction. We finally called the dispatcher and told her to call him to pack up and leave so we could get someone who would have some success.

1/2 hour after George from Mr. Rooter Left another plumber was able to quickly and quietly dislodge the obstruction and our sewer was once again draining.

The SCAM. I believe that Rooter Hero or Mr. Rooter will come out to your house and if you are elderly, a woman, or it is Sunday Night or other inconvenient time and your sewer is backed up, the technician will appear to snake the pipe allowing only a small amount of tether under the house and make a horrendous amount of noise. Then they will claim that your pipes are offset or they need to trench to upsell you for services you do not need.

As that has been my experience with them now twice. See Below.

I actually do not like to report negatively on YELP but the public must be warned about a potential scam

Supervisor Gabe was called to our property. He claimed he ran a snake through the line to clear it. When the line failed to clear, Gabe put a camera down the line and stated that the water was too murkey to see anything. He declared the pipe offset and used high pressure scare tactics on my rep to make him think he had no option but to pull a permit and displace our tenants and pay $3900.00 to replace the line and another $700.00 to fix the clean-out put in last year by super honest, reputable, and great plumbers whose name I cant mention here. After Mr. Rooter left the property with the line still clogged my regular plumber was called. Randy came out and cleared the line immediately and charged only $97.50 for the service. I asked my regular plumber. if I would need to replace my line and I was told that some day I will need to replace the pipe to the street. But that wont be until the line starts backing up every few months something I will plan for.

Mr. Rooter refused to give me a refund for the $283.00 charged for the camera work. I should not pay anything, as the original snake was either not done( fraud) or done incompetently. In addition, Gabe bad mouthed the previous plumbers work in the clean out and was suggesting that I pay $700 to have the clean out turned up and out at a different angle. It only cost $400.00 to get it done last year.

In 2011 Mr. Rooter settled with the state contractors licensing board. They are currently on probation for the same activity until 2014you can look it up online.

We had a clogged toilet. The service technician Matthew Sanchez arrived promptly the same day on the given time. He looked at it and gave an estimate saying it works 9 out of ten times. He was done within minutes. We also had some other repairs needed and he told us what to do with them. This was very reasonable (less than 100) and quick. Matthew was very professional and courteous and I'd strongly recommend this service.

Giovanni, Juan, Angel and his crew are the best - hands down! Personable, accountable, and whatever problem you need them to fix, they make it their priority. We had a gas leak that appeared isolated in one area, but turned out to require complete repiping of the lines from the meter. While costly and timely, they put in the time to make sure we could get our hot water back as soon as possible. Very pleased with the explanations, estimates, and ultimately the results. When we called Roto Rooter to come out for a clogged kitchen sink, they gave us an estimate of $350! To unclog the kitchen sink?
We called Rooter Hero and they came within the hour.
Sedrick and Matthew were able to take care of the clog in about 20 minutes, the charge was less than $100.
These guys were great, very friendly and professional. We're very happy with Rooter Hero and will definite refer.

THEY STAND BY THEIR WORK! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

This is an interesting review in that, Rooter Hero was not able to resolve my original issue, but I had an issue with them because of an accident that happened during their attempt.

I called this company to deal with a really bad upstairs drain clog. To be honest, my home warranty company sent two other companies over and they were unsuccessful before I called Rooter Hero on my own to try They were unable to clear it and it ultimately required me calling another vendor for a more advanced fix to finally get things fixed. When attempting to clear the blockage, their snake made a large scratch on the outside of my bathtub.

Rooter Hero never denied the accident and from the start and assured me that it would be taken care of. They sent another company to sand and re-glaze my bathtub and it looks new again.

Because they never cleared my blockage, they made $0 on my service call and ended up having to pay for an expensive repair. To me, this really shows the integrity and pride they have in their company to do the right thing. I would highly recommend them and would not hesitate to call them in the future.

Bravo Rooter Hero! We realized that our drain back-up wasn't a simple problem this time and knew we had to make the dreaded call. The only good part was knowing Who to call; Rooter Hero. We called them for my in-law's drain problem a few years ago (which turned out to be a Major one) and saw their work. It was Very impressive and included having to run a new main sewer line to replace the 60 year old cast iron line. They even made sure to have lines temporarily hooked up every night during the few days of work. Well, we didn't hesitate to call them for our problem and we're glad we did. They did a thorough inspection and offered us four levels of repair...from a band-aid/get it running quick-fix, to a complete replacement and never have to worry about it again fix. We were shown the in-line camera footage and saw that the lines were old, worn, just shot, and had been very poorly repaired in the past. It was Bad! Never wanting to call every couple years, and to not worry about it again, we went for the complete replacement. Believe me, after seeing the bill proposal, it wasn't easy. However, after seeing the work involved, all the parts, permits, the specialized equipment, expertise of the crews, and the incredibly fast time of completion, the expense was justified. The crew was very neat, personable , and even kept one bathroom working for us while they were at work. I can't say enough about how pleased we are with our decision to completely replace the lines and main, and our choice of Rooter Hero.

Do not use these guys! I wish I had read the reviews before calling them. Had them out on 1/19/2019. The plumber was 2 hours past the window but the least of our problems. I had a garbage disposal that needed replacing. I asked for a quote. Quoted $920!!! I asked how much the part is. Told $200. Asked how long to install. Told 1 hour. So $720 labor for 1 hours work! I said we would not go ahead. The plumber said he would make me a good deal if I referred him to my friends ( not going to help them rip off my friends). On the way out he told me I need to replace it immediately- that it is urgent. Tried to high pressure me into doing the job. Only reason I am not using his name is to respect his privacy.

called these guys out to snake my clean out because my toilet was backed up. a technician and field manager came to my house to do the work. Long story short, they weren't able to unclog my toilet and said that the pipe collapsed and they wouldn't be able to do anything without digging everything out and they would send me a quote right away. I didn't get the quote until 3 days later...after we called them to see what the hold up was.

Two days later we called out another plumber who was able to unclog my toilet just by snaking it out without any problems. Not sure why two people weren't able to do the job that one was able to, but I don't think I will be recommending this company to anyone else.

Tech was showed up 4 hours after 2 hour window. He could not snake out the drain. He needed to come back the next day with his supervisor. They showed up the next day and still couldn't get the drain unclogged. They then said they needed to go under the house, then say I need to re pipe the whole house! They provided an unprofessional hand written quote with serval options and still charge me $77 for trying to clear my drain. I SEE other people had the same exact experience with this company.

I called Roto-Rooter and they snaked and cleared the drain quickly! I would never let Rooter Hero work on my house ever again. These guys are either incompetent or dishonest, either way....don't call them!

Our tenant request the service for water heater. It broke down again just a few days after the repair.no warranty no refund. So it's like we spent over $600 for nothing. We have the similar situation for the sink last year and we get a full refund. Maybe they have their reasons but still, this is a really upset experience for us and will never ask for help from them in the future.

David S was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. He saved us by arriving quickly on Memorial Day and snaked our kitchen drain and was done and out within 30 minutes! (We had already confirmed there were no issues with the visible drains and it needed an electric snake.) He gave an estimate upfront, and sent an electronic receipt when we gave payment at the end. If you have a clogged drain DO NOT I will repeat DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE! If I could give zero stars I would! On 6/8/18 Rooter Hero came out to clear a clogged drain at the house. The first problem was they arrived late, then they looked at the clogged toilets, shower and sink and told us it would cost $277 to clear them. When we asked about the coupons they had on line they told us they weren't valid for this job because they had to go on the roof! Since we needed the drains cleared we authorized them to do go ahead and clear the drains.

There were two guys in the crew one was quite large and the other was smaller but not skinny! The large guy stayed on the ground and sent his apprentice on the roof with a small power snake with no cutter on it to snake the drain. When I asked aren't you going to use a cutter on the snake? The large guy said you never use a cutter when going down the vent stack on a house! I told him that's funny because $15 Dollar and Rescue Rooter uses them all the time! He then told me well then, they don't know what they are doing! His apprentice started sending the cable down the vent and 10 minutes later pulled it out with a few roots attached, the big guy then had him send it down the drain again and had me turn on a little water. When I got back out he told me we had two problems, first, we had a leak under the house and they would need to go under the house and check it out and second, we had a major root problem in the line. I asked him how he knew there was a leak under the house? Could he hear it? He said no, but he knew from experience! I then asked when they needed to go under the house? He told me another guy was coming and I surmised it was because the size of these two guys precluded them form going under the house because they would not fit through the access hole! As they continued with the snake with just the cable down the main, I could see where we were headed so I called $15 Dollar Sewer and Drain to have them come out and went under the house myself to see if anything was leaking, there was nothing leaking! When I got back outside they were pulling out the cable for a second time with a few more roots attached. The big guy then said you have a root problem and the camera will tell us where the problem is. They then sent the camera down and as I watched the screen you could see NOTHING on the screen, just black! I asked him how are you going to see where the problem is when you CAN'T SEE ANYTHING on the screen! He told me the snake had steered up the sewage in the line and he knew what he was looking at! He then got his locator and waving it over the front lawn said this is where the problem is and you need a clean out installed right at the sidewalk to solve the problem and then told me it was going to cost $4,375 for the clean out and if they found more problems with the sewer main it could cost more! While he was telling me this the apprentice was pulling out the camera and putting it back on the truck. I told him how about clearing the line of the roots to get the water out of the line and then actually showing me the damage so we can actually see where it's located? he told me we can't clear the line without the clean out, so we have to do that work first! I then told him I had $15 Dollar on the way, so they could get in their truck and take it down the road!

In my conversation with the big guy I found out that Rooter Hero had been Mr. Rooter and they had changed their name a few years earlier. This information was critical to sending them down the road because Mr. Rooter had socked it to a 94 year old family friend about 6 years ago when they charged her $25,000 to put new drain lines under her 5 unit apartment and when that didn't fix the problem charged her another $7 grand to fix the problem! The new company is just like the old company and is run by con men!

Long story short $15 Dollar came out charged $176 because they needed two men to run the snake down the roof vent. They ran their 3/4 snake down the main with a 3 cutter on the first pass and a 4 cutter on the second pass and cleared the drain in less than 20 minutes! I then had Carlos of Trenchfree come out and camera the line and they will be installing a cleanout at the sidewalk for $2,300 and the problem with the roots is on the city's side of the main, so the city will be out to repair there broken pipe once the clean out is installed.

Rooter Hero came out today to unclog a toilet. The visit turned into a more involved issue, with one person looking into the crawl space and saying that I have leaky galvanized pipes. (The pipes are copper). They wanted to return later with a supervisor for additional work. Before they returned I cancelled the follow-up and contacted a plumber who came out within an hour, and the cost was very reasonable and not complicated. The toilet runs fine now, no issues. Beware of this company's practices.

He was very professional and friendly. He cleared the clog and showed us how to keep the pipes clear, and gave tips on using the garbage disposal. Awesome customer service! Rooter Hero Plumbing was called for a slow drain problem in the kitchen sink and garage utility sink. The slow drain led to a decision to replace the rest of the drainage plumbing under the house, per Matthew's inspection feedback. The main drain line under the house had already been done a number of years prior. Also, video review confirmed tree roots from the city tree (that I wish I could remove/replace) were visible in the sewer line. Although the roots were not a problem currently, we gave Matthew and the Rooter Hero team the okay to use their trench-less technology to replace the main sewer line in the front yard too. Let's just get everything done correctly with skilled professionals was my thought.

Matthew kept us informed of the work progress and what to expect with the city permit inspection. Matthew and his team were very nice and did a great job. Everything is working fine. I didn't go into the crawl space to take a look, but his team member Jeremiah did pass on pictures. The City Permit is complete and the bill paid. I still have some drywall holes to repair in the bathrooms behind the toilets and yard repairs near the two front yard sewer clean out access ports.

My home crawl space access is in the bottom of a closet. Unfortunately, a good amount of dirt floated up into the living area. It's not their fault I bought a home with inside crawl space access. They did lay down sturdy paper on the hardwood floors during their inside/under the house work.

If I have any problems within the next 10 years, my warranty will cover any support needed. The work did cover a number of days and it was pricey, but this was major home repair work. I'd recommend Matthew and Rooter Hero for quality work. Now I just need to find someone to fix those bathroom dry wall holes too.

I found damp patches on my exterior wall. After performing a drain inspection,Rooter Hero told me my bathroom and kitchen were leaky.I asked them to show me some photos, but they refused to do that. And they gave a price from 2400-19000,astronomical figures!! I finally chose to replace a new drain system instead of repairing, because there's no more better choices.
Meanwhile,I also had them to replace a new vanity for me after the new drain system had been done.There were two plumbers worked for my project, one is for drain system, I think he is qualified. But for the other guy who replaced the vanity, I don't think he is experienced and trustworthy.He spent quite a long time on the work and failed to do it well. He didn't seal the gap between granite and the splashboard, besides, the faucet was not installed horizontally!Later, he did fix it unwillingly when he and the city inspector came by my house to do the inspection.
BTW, I asked him to haul away the vanity packing which I've been keeping in my garage since he finished the work two months ago, last time he told me he would haul it away when he came for the inspection. But he refused to do it because of the lack of trunk storage.
My opinion, try to avoid this company.

We hired Rooter Hero to address a clogged shower drain. They arrived and I was a bit surprised that their manager laid out a set of services to replace existing sewer pipes even before looking at the problem below (in hindsight this should have been a red flag). The cost of various possible replacements varied from $2000 to close to $8000. They initially got the drain clog removed, but the guy who went under said that he could see the pipes underneath leaking in many places and recommended replacing the leaking section of drain pipe for around $2500. He said the cost of the work so far could be applied to this amount (around $300). He also said there are several other smaller leaks and those would cost close to $8000 to be comprehensively addressed. We went with the $2500 changes. Recently, after several months we decided to have our pipes upgraded to copper. The plumbers who took a look at the pipes came back with some shocking news. Apparently the section of the sewer pipe that had been replaced was sloping back into the pipes, causing sewer to backup, instead of flowing out of the house. They could not provide guarantee for their work with these existing drainage issues. We called another plumber and got the same feedback. Here is my conclusion about this company

1) They quote exorbitant amount for their services. This is something you might notice in more than one review on this site. It is unfortunate that we didn't see those reviews hidden behind a bunch of other positive reviews.

2) Their actual quality of work seems questionable too. The plumbers who visited after Rooter Hero wondered how any qualified plumber could slope the drain pipe in this manner. This is the the unfortunate part of going to such faceless company. You don't really know who you are going to get from the company to work on your house.

They are a bunch of scam artist.
My sink had a slow drainage issue, so I called them to fix the issue using a $77 Coupon to drain a normal blockage. The plumber confirmed the coupon price with his manager, and started work. After 25 minutes or so he said he was all done. However, when we tested it, my sink was completely blocked now - worse than my original problem when it was draining a little slowly. I asked the guys what's happening here, and he said he would have to come back with his manager with a video equipment to see what's going on.

A few hours later the plumber came back with his manager (Luis).
I explained to Luis that your plumber has made my situation even worse than the original condition with a complete blockage now, and I need this fixed to its original condition at a minimum. Luis said that it was not possible, and it would cost me $1100 to get it fixed.

I was stunned as these guys were pretty much asking for a ransom to fix a problem they themselves created. I have never experienced anything like it. I called their office several times, and was told that a manager would called me. But no one called.

NEVER use these scam artists.

Zero stars. In short, homeowner calls with
Clogged sink or toilet. Hero Rooter sends out tech who says he puts a camera down the line and says the line is blocked after noticing there is no clean out box. Calls manager and he tells you your line is dead and you have a broken sewage pipe. Manager confirms your pipe is broken conveniently where the clean out box should be. Attempts to sign a work order for approximately four thousand dollars ( $4,000).

Call another plumber (with good Yelp reviews), cameras the line for
$150 and gives the plumbing a clean bill or health, snakes clogged sink, states no break in pipe. Puts a clean out box for an extra $300.

Hero Rooter will write a rebuttal saying they did nothing wrong. HOW PATHETIC!

A five star experience from beginning to end. Technician arrived within 45 minutes of my initial phone call. I received several phone calls apprising me of his location. The technician, John Alex, was professional, engaging and extremely fastidious. The clog was not easy to clear, but he deftly resolved the issue after several attempts. I have used multiple companies over the years, but Rooter Hero is by far the most superior. Go with these guys. I'll never use another service. We had a no water situation and I called Rooter Hero San Jose around 3:30pm on a busy Friday. They scheduled us for 6:00-8:00pm but when the technicians were very busy, I was told it would be later but not certain when. The dispatch kept me informed all along the way and were very helpful. Edgar Mata-Valdvinos was the technician and was very professional and fixed our problem very quickly. We were very grateful that Edgar took that last call of the night because he knew we did not have water. We are very impressed with the service of Rooter Hero and would use them again.

Definitely one star only to be able to post the review. Don't waste your time and money by hiring Rooter Hero. Nothing good about their service. At the beginning they didn't finish our project and left it hanging for two months. When they came back to finalize what they supposed to finalize after two months delay, they said they had the last inspection. We checked at the city with the inspectors, and our case still open and no final inspection was scheduled as Rooter Hero claimed. They are super expensive with zero quality and horrible customer service. Their technicians are rude, the whole team never answer a phone call or even call back. They will give you so many promises if you complain to the management, and screw your project up when they receive the money by credit card. If you want quality and respect don't hire them. Management gives fake promises and disappear when you request a refund.

My experience was a lot like that of KK, Mel, Amy, JT and other customers who yelped of being swindled, or almost swindled by a few bad apples at this company. We had a clogged drain, with house sewage coming up through the clean-out pipe in our yard. Customer service told me it would be no charge to inspect the line and $77 to unclog the line with a cable, a similar procedure to how another company cleared such a clog a few years ago, using a cable with a blade on it to cut roots.
When I arrived home, the J and J were already there, having talked to my husband, and with me on the phone, alerting me to severe damage that would cost at least $3800 and as much as $18,500 to replace or repair a broken pipe. J said he put a camera down the hole and saw the broken pipe. He also said he stuck a cable down (without a blade on it, though we asked for a blade), and said it couldn't go far since the pipe was damaged. I asked to see the picture...he said it was too dark! If it was too dark, how did he see a broken pipe? He called his specialist - turned out to be his brother - who told me that replacing the pipe was the best way to go, long term. I'd have to tell them which of my plants they could damage during the procedure! They pressed me to get it done soon, as the sewage would be coming into my house ASAP. This was nonsense, since the clean-out keeps the sewage outside in my yard, and we live on a slope. I said I wanted another opinion before proceeding.
They asked why I hesitated to proceed! I said that this was a major expense! It also all didn't feel right, since the last time, we a cable with a blade fixed the problem.
I learned later, they didn't even put the cable down the correct hole. They put it in the pipe coming from the house, vs the one that went to the street, from what our second opinion told us. Before they left, J asked for $380. I asked why there was a $380 charge! He said there was a charge for the camera and cable, but he had never had me sign ANYTHING before doing any work, and from what my husband told me, he hadn't seen any camera go into the hole. The cable didn't go far, and they refused to put on a blade. I told him I was quoted a no charge inspection, and hadn't approved any work or charges. He said there must have been miscommunication, and said there would be no charge. I asked for a written quote and he handed me a yellow sheet of regular paper with the outrageous prices and different warranty terms on it. Both men were extremely polite, and one shook my hand. I felt they'd told me a bunch of baloney.

I called Roto-Rooter for a second opinion. Bryan from R-R came out, asked some questions, explained what he would do, quoted me a price, pointed me to an online coupon, had me sign a statement of work, then stuck a cable with a blade on it down the correct drain hole, and cranked away. The pipe wasn't broken at all. As before, the pipe had root blockage and the blade on the cable got rid of the roots. The procedure took about 30 minutes and 75 feet of cable, with Bryan then having us run our water for 5 minutes while continuing to clear the line. Voila! The blockage went away, and for $340, total. When I asked what it would take to replace a pipe, he said it varied, and he'd have to insert a camera to find out. He said a camera inspection was $195, but the pipe didn't seem broken, just blocked. He also said replacing a pipe was major work, as the pipe to the house was 3 and the city line was 4 and you'd have to find the connection point, probably somewhere in the middle of the yard where all the plants were.

Thank you, Roto Rooter for honesty, transparency and a solid work ethic.
BEWARE anyone who falls for a Rooter Hero pushing an expensive solution, without supporting data, that could cause more problems in the long run. From other posts, it looks like elderly folk fall for this easily. I can't imagine if it had been my mom or dad dealing with these smooth talkers...

At one of the properties that I manage, the shower head in the bathroom was leaking. The owner wanted it fixed, so I decided to contact Rooter Hero Plumbing to get a free estimate after seeing a coupon in the mail. I called and spoke to a friendly receptionist who set up a two hour window appointment. Another person called back an hour later to give me an update as to when the plumber should arrive. This company has very good customer service, which is a very good sign.

The plumber, Jason Hernandez, came on time and checked out the issue. He checked all the necessary parts and told me that there is no leakage. He showed me how to check in case there is one in the future. Since the shower head (cartridge) and the hand-held shower hose were functioning correctly, all I need to do is to soak the shower head in CLR (Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover) to get rid of the water buildup. He stayed a little bit longer to make sure that there is no leakage. Jason just started working for this company for the past couple of months. He told me that Rooter Hero Plumbing is a good place to work for and takes pride in its reputation.

Even though I did not get charged for the visit, it made me feel good to find a reputable plumber/company. If I have any other plumbing issues, I would definitely use them again. Who doesn't want an honest plumber?

Called for a leaky sink drain. They were prompt and polite.
But, they could not snake the sink, moved the blockage around (blocking another sink) and told me that likely the pipes were broken because the house is old, and we'd have to jackhammer the slab floor. Their recommendation: a $2,717 service to flush pipes and video the system. They hooked the sink back up (it now has a slight leak). We called another service, who snaked the system in twenty minutes, everything is fine, water flowing great. $200 to solve the problem. They sent the estimate and an authorization, but I have never heard from them since. I 'pinged' the CEO on LinkedIn, and filled in comments on their website before this post, but they are impossible to contact. I don't know if this is bad luck, incompetence, or a rip-off. I can not, in good faith, recommend the service. I hate to ding a business, but I think people should be warned in this case.

I have experienced a very serious plumbing issue over the new year holiday. I have called Rooter Hero on Jan 30th, and I was lucky to have Eddie being assigned to my house. He pretty much spent his entire holiday at my place to make sure I have water running everyday when he leaves. He never walked away from the problem and made sure I have water everyday when he leaves. He also fixed my water hose Bibb as he saw it leaking. Other part of the team were are very professional, polite, clean and more importantly on-time.

Trouble with my main line, they gave me options which ranged in price from $2000-$6000, but wouldn't give me the quote in writing. Not sure why....kept telling me he would email it to me. Never did. Meanwhile I'm here unable to flush my toilet or take a shower. Anyway, ended going with another company and charge me $650. Not sure how or why there's a huge discrepancy in prices. I'm giving 2 stars for the original plumber who came out, Sal. He seemed genuine and wanted to help. His boss if that's what you want to call him, Juan acted like he really didn't need my business and that's why he didn't even got back to me. Also beware, Rooter Hero is a sister company of Roto-Rooter, who I was trying to avoid in the first place.

I had them come out and replace a sewer pump. The plumber told me after he replaced the pump that I needed to have a camera go through my sewer pipes to find a blockage because he said sewage was backing into my tank. Having gone through this one other time and $8,000 later, I told him I wanted a second opinion. I had another plumber come out with a camera who told me that there was nothing wrong with my system and didn't want to charge me to use a camera that would find nothing wrong. Oh and by the way, Rooter Hero was going to charge me $699 for that service, and this plumber was going to charge me $250.

This is a terrible outfit. They came to unclog a simple bathroom drain. After first requesting $270 to do it, they agreed to their Internet special of $79. The technician then proceeded to try to snake the drain with a 25 foot snake. He failed after 45 minutes and said that he couldn't do it and the water was backed up more than it was before he arrived. When I asked him why didn't he use utilize a 75 foot snake, he said it was being repaired and he didn't have one. Needless to say, we didn't pay them and now are contacting a plumber

I don't even know where to begin. These guys are amazing! My elderly parents live in Sunnyvale and I live on the East Coast. While I was visiting, my folks had a new fridge delivered, but when it came, it couldn't be installed because they needed to have a new shut off valve installed under their kitchen sink. We called these guys and they were out in a heartbeat. The care and respect they showed my folks was incredible. Knowing I had to head back to the East Coast, Tony and Basilio both gave me their direct numbers and told me to call if my folks needed anything. After I flew back, the fridge was redelivered and the delivery guy still couldn't figure out how to install the fridge. I immediately called Basilio, and he assured me he would take care of my parents. Within a couple of hours, he went out to their house and installed their new fridge for them. My mind is at ease knowing I can call on these guys and know that my folks are in great hands! Not all superheroes wear capes! Tony and Basilio saved the day, and we simply can't thank them enough!

Sooo disappointing. I scheduled an appointment several days in advance. Unfortunately, Rooter Hero never showed up. My original window of time was between 2-4pm. At 1pm, I received a phone call asking if the time could be pushed back from 3-5pm -- I agreed. By 5:05pm, I had to call them. I was then placed on hold for 7 mins or so, before they put Carlos on the phone. He informed me that nobody could come out today until 10pm and did I want to reschedule. Rooter Hero wasted my time once...I would never fall for that again. This is not reputable company...and certainly NO Hero. Please don't waste your time. There are much better companies to do business with.

I have used Rooter Hero in the past for clean out of my sewer system. This past holiday just two days before Christmas my whole sewer system under my home was leaking. Jose R came out explained what the problem was and what my options were for the repair. He came back the next day (Christmas eve) to do a temporary repair so my family and I could enjoy the holiday. He was on time and very considerate. He always explained what he was doing and approximately how long it would take. He came back the day after Christmas to complete the work. Very grateful and satisfied with the work performed. Today was the inspection by the city and all went well.

I had a great experience with Rooter hero plumbing. It all started at about 10pm when I started to have my annually sewer issues. Service Technician Tony Serrano arrived within an hour, I was very thankful for such a quick response because I had my house full of family that was visiting from out of town. Tony stayed over an hour to make sure we were able to use the water that night, unfortunately the water would still not drain. I knew there was a problem because this company has been out here many times for the same issue. The following morning after running a scope inside the pipe we found out the tree roots finally broke the line sewer. We decided to go with the option to replace the sewer line in our front yard. Thankfully Tony's supervisor Juan was able to provide us with financing options that helped us out with the money part of the replacement. Tony and his partner Basilio got to work right away. They ended up staying pretty late into the evening to finish up the work. As they promised the sewer replacement was finished by the end of the day. They stayed a total of about 12 hours that day. The city inspector came by 2 days later and the dirt was all put back the same day. These gentlemen treated my home as if it were their own and that's what made me feel safe with them. I was very impressed with how quick and professional everything was completed. Issues like this are never expected, I was just very thankful for My heroes Tony, Juan and Basilio who were here to save the day and help me every step of the way. I would highly recommend this company to anybody who is experiencing any plumbing issues. You guys are my plumbers forever!

Below is the initial review I gave Rooter Hero Plumbing- after giving them substantial time to right their wrong...I now decided I should update it- They came- They put in a new water heater and for that I was happy and grateful- then I found out they charged me almost TWICE as much as other estimates I got after the fact. It cost me almost$4k to get my water heater replaced and up to code which I was charged for- They never scheduled a follow up visit with the city to have it signed off that it was to code... so I have to Assume it is to code, they also charged me an additional $250 due upon completion-for the city inspector to inspect- yet this was never completed. I called the company a couple of times asking to talk to some one about a possible credit and the completion of the job and got no return calls. I don't mind paying for a job even a little more to get the job done- but I feel they took advantage of the situation knowing of course I needed hot water! That being said the job they did seems to be good, but was waaaaaaay more than most other plumbing companies would charge. ( I quoted the water heater itself and it was less than $1000, so almost $3k in labor for less than an 8 hr. Job???)
This company Rooter Hero Plumbing is named appropriately... they ARE my heros! I called several places before them, starting with Sears because my water heater was a Sears water heater... Sears told me the soonest they could fit me in was in EIGHT Days ...8 Days! Then they proceeded to tell me I was a premiere customer and qualified for discounts for any home improvements I wanted... I replied .... seriously??? I need your help to fix a water heater I bought from you and you are telling me I need to wait 8 days? No I do not want to do any business with Sears! Rooter Hero Plumbing answered the phone, had a technician out in 40 minutes and had a new water heater installed the same day. They (Edgar awere VERY nice and professional and their business is paper free- I received my estimate and invoice/receipt via email. They are my go to plumbing company from now on!

My husband and I run a business out of our home and we found ourselves in a terrible situation when our kitchen sink pipes were clogged and began leaking. We found Rooter Hero through Yelp and were extremely satisfied with their impeccable customer service and efficient costs. My husband said if they were to charge us double the price, we would've gladly paid it. Marcus, Tony, and Juan did a great job and were very honest people to work with. They were in and out in about an hour and found problems in our pipes that we didn't even know we had. We highly recommend them for any plumbing problems, they are the best in the area! We paid under $100 for everything they worked on and our sink pipes are as good as new!

I called Rooter Hero Plumbing because the garbage disposal in our sink was no longer working and was causing a lot of back up and taking a very long time to drain whenever using the sink. I called on a Monday and got a confirmation that someone was able to come the very next day between 12-2pm. The day of the appointment someone called to confirm that Jose Romero was on his way and within about 30 minutes he had arrived! This was really great when often one assumes that they will be waiting a very long time for someone to come but it took barely any time at all for him to arrive. Jose was extremely friendly and helpful and made sure to assess all the potential reasons that the disposal was no longer working. He was upfront with costs which made him very trustworthy. In the end the disposal was just very old and needed replacing so Jose was kind enough to go to their warehouse to pick up a new disposal and within an hour or so came back to install it! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking for friendly/knowledgeable people and efficient service. :)

We called this company last week as we were seeing some blockage in our drain. Pablo from Rooter hero came on time as promised by the dispatch person. We didnt had a very good feeling to start with him. We told him about the situation and he told us that he is going to find out whats going on. He went to our roof with his snake equipment and ran the snake thru and kept telling us that we need to have clean-out built and was complaining about there is something very wrong with our drain. He also ran the snake from the drain opening at the side of the house, but his snake cable was not too big to reach the main drain and we told him from the beginning that we are suspecting a problem with the main drain pipe. He was more keen on getting the clean-out installed rather then getting the drain unclogged. That's why he kept running small snake. After all that we asked for how much it is going to cost us to get the drain unclogged. He asked for $154 ($77 for the 2 snakes he ran), but he didn't fix the problem with our drain as he kept saying that you need to get the clean-out installed and gave us an estimate of $2800 for that. We were very frustrated with him at that time that we just paid him $154 and said we will consult with more plumbers and then decide. He didn't even give us any receipt and left. Next day, we still had the problem and we had another plumber came and fixed the drain with long snake cable and cleared our main drain and we just paid $150. So, what we paid to Rooter Hero guy was a waste. Will not call them again.

Update: After my initial review, I was contacted by the management and they have taken care of refunding my money which I paid even though the problem was not resolved. I really appreciate for doing the right thing. I will give them a try again and make sure they give a written estimate and a warranty before doing any work.

I had a clogged sewer line, they came out and tried to snake my problem a few times to no avail. They then gave me various quotes to replace my sewer line, the lowest starting at 4K just to replace a small part of the pipe and 14K to replace the entire line. I then called another service for a second quote. They came out quickly, and had the line cleared within for 15 minutes for just $200. I know that my sewer line is old and eventfully needs to be replaced, but to be presented this as the only option is shady at best, a own right scam at the worst.

These guys are awesome. We had an appointment yesterday with Elite Rooter right-we waited all day and through our scheduled window and they never showed up or called. So yesterday after Elite never showed we started dialing. Immediately after talking to a lady on the phone at Rooter Hero we were informed that someone would show up within the hour. Luis was here early. Not only that he was wearing those little bootie things on his shoes and he went straight to work. Dude snaked out 75' with the quickness. Nothing but professionalism, manners and respect from this guy. Unfortunately our kitchen pipe is failing or in the process of doing so and it backed up again. It's important to mention that I had to reconnect my pipes because that was our arrangement-I only paid for rooter service-and so after he had wrapped up I reattached everything and it took a while for the pipe to fill up again. Anyways Luis didn't skip a beat man. He contacted the plumbing specialist, troubleshot the problem, inspected the grounds for any underlying issues and then came back out this morning and re-worked the pipe which successfully removed enough of the failed pipes accumulated debris and bought us some time. This didn't cost us any more money due to their guarantee. If you want hardworking folks who see a problem through until it is successfully completed then call this company. Thanks again Luis and Rooter Hero......you really were our hero today and I couldn't imagine going another day without our kitchen sink and dishwasher.

This is a follow up to a stellar review I gave a few months ago. Naturally, as luck would have it, a drain line backed up on a holiday. My wife called Rooter Hero around 2pm for next day service as it wasn't an emergency. Dispatch gave her a time of 11am the following day. 11am came and went. When my wife inquired the day of service, the response from that dispatcher was, Your husband is a repeat client. He should have known or told you there is a 2 hour window. Wow. That's poor customer service. When 4 o'clock rolled around, dispatch said someone would be out soon. No one responded. Not even a courtesy call . So my wife called at the end of the business day and was given a 9am-11am appointment the following morning. She also requested a discount as she and our kids had to sit around all day and wait on a service window that never happened. Dispatch said they would knock off $15, but my wife wasn't happy with that. The dispatcher said the supervisor would call and discuss. He never called.

The next day arrived and 9..10..11am rolled around. Then 12. No call. I called and spoke to dispatch. They transferred me to the business owner who couldn't even identify himself clearly or announce his business name (ie, Hello this Bob from Rooter Hero how can I help you.) He answered the phone, Yeah! I told this subject our dilemma and he said they would respond the following day. They were short handed and prioritizing calls. Meanwhile I'm on my third day of not being able to run water, take a shower, without my garage overflowing. Not easy with a 4 and 6 year old in the house and a weeks worth of laundry waiting. I also reminded him that we were on schedule from the prior day. He said he would call the field supervisor who would call me directly and give me a time that day. He never called.

After approximately four more calls, we were able to get a tech out by 4pm. He had to come from 50 miles away.

The communication, dispatch, relay of information, supervisor preparedness, staffing, and customer service of this place in those two days was atrocious. We were also billed the full amount despite being told there would be a discount. We have used RH for residential and commercial jobs. With assurance of business between several locations that we own, there was zero effort to accommodate or make good on their poor service and communication. In retrospect, I'm thinking when we first used RH, the techs, their uniforms and tools/equipment were super clean and new. The last tech's clothes were ratty as was the equipment. I wonder now if the service I first received was because the client base was small and the company was new. Now settled and growing, they've simply outgrown their staffing and ability. I think we've learned our lesson and will find a new plumber.

We saw the ad in the paper and phoned. Pablo came out and gave us a reasonable quote for through the roof rotor rooter service. Then he called out the field supervisor to do a camera check of the pipes. Pablo was clean and courteous and did a great job.
The field supervisor Sal arrived with a pipe cam and a detector device. Sal told us our pipes were so old and had to be replaced eventually. He used a metal detector device and told us some pipes were leaking in the front yard. The quotations for repairs were in the thousands of dollars.
Pablo had taken photos of the pipes under the house and Sal said he would email them to me. I needed photos to have a company re-imburse us for the rooter service. After several emails that were never answered, I never got my refund from that other company.
Pablo was professional and courteous. I thought Sal was too - but he didn't come through.
These are the people that quoted us 3K to put in a sewer line (they had done so for my neighbor). Then we found out that the City of Santa Clara would do the same thing for $1200.

We had an issue with our clogged air gap. Called them first thing Monday morning and they scheduled me from 5:00-7:00. After 7:00 I called to confirm whether they were still coming. They told me they were running behind so they weren't going to be able to send someone out but would give me priority the next morning from 8:00-10:00. Called around 10:00 and apparently they had had a meeting that morning and weren't sure why they scheduled me at that time. So they rescheduled me from noon-2:00. I get a call at 1:30 telling me they can't make it out today with no reason why and an offer for $50 off my next service. Don't use them! They are very unreliable!

Very frustrating five weeks for new sewer line! Problems with permits--one issued only after we specifically requested it and then issued without a date. Our checks have fallen into any abyss--still not cashed after more than 3 weeks. The job was finished today in what we believe was a satisfactory manner, but we have only copies of the permits (not original signatures). We hope these will suffice in the event of problems.

In Gilbert's defense, the crew was very nice and accommodating, but we had to request, at every step, that the work was done correctly and up to code.

We called Rooter Hero to help us with a blocked drain situation. Multiple drains across bathrooms were clogged with water from one coming out of the drain hole in the other. Rooter Hero sent us their Service Technician, David Sanchez to help. As promised, David was at our door step promptly on time. He was thorough, very patient in helping us understand the problem, absolutely non-pushy in even attempting to convince us to spend on anything unnecessary. He ran the 'snake' and got the drains unclogged in a matter of minutes after that. My best service experiences are when I feel that the service provider did their work with utter professionalism, were cheerful throughout and treated me as a customer should be, with courtesy. David Sanchez was all of the above. I'd give him a 6th star, if there was one. Thank you David and I hope your managers at Rooter Hero recognize you for your sincerity and customer service beyond your strong skills.

I used rooter hero for installing the city clean out. Their quote was better than two other companies. Gilbert Morales was our main technician and I highly recommend him. He was very clever in dealing with our plant box and tried his best to cause the least destruction in digging our backyard. Gilbert treated our project like his own and went beyond his duty. He even cut the plant box and relocated the water pipe for us. I thought installing a city clean out will cause a huge damage to our garden but Gilbert managed to make the final output clean. His customer service level is really a top notch. When you call the rooter hero, make sure to ask for Gilbert.

I am giving 3 stars for the high integrity this company has exhibited upon getting my feedback and I appreciate that the company values the business and has keen interest to provide customer satisfaction. I had a leak in my bathroom that was due to cracked pipe and I was charged 1800 dollars for couple of hours of work. I felt that I was ripped off and I had to provide a harsh review stating my grievances. The manager called me next day, listened to my issue and agreed to refund me good portion of the money and was extremely apologetic. I felt that the company do care about its business and customer satisfaction. The work that they did for leak repair was good.

I would give Zero review if I can for these guys. I called them for a drain backup in all bathrooms in an emergency situation. They had free camera inspection and $77 dollar coupon but since it needs to be accessed through roof, the $77 doesn't apply and they charged me $265 which I was ok paying as well. However after an hour of working, the toilets still didn't work and they said the pipe broke at two places and gave me few estimates ranging from $3500 to $12k+ to fix them. I asked them if there is something they could do temporarily since I had young kids so we could think over it that night and decide as its huge amount. They said they can't do anything about it until they dig and repair the sewer pipe. They left and we had to stay out that night but I called another contractor and they had someone come in morning and they snaked the line and left in less than an hour with everything up and running! I am really frustrated with Rooter Hero where they did not make an effort to snake properly and tried me selling expensive repair options understanding that we need it up and running soon. The $265 I paid just went into drain and they did not solve anything. I would not recommend them to anyone. Stay away from these guys if you can.

I recently called Rooter Hero to help me with a serious plumbing back-up in a 4-plex. Given it was overflowing in a garage, it was important that I get this taken care of ASAP. I called my plumber, and he was busy and could not help me for hours. I called Rooter Hero and they had Jake Barnhart show up within the hour. More importantly, they kept me up to date with his location and planned time of arrival. Jake immediately went to work, but his auger was not the right size so he called for help. Shortly thereafter Matthew Sanchez (his supervisor) arrived with a smaller machine and within about 20 minutes he and Jake had the problem resolved. Given that Jake was there for more than an hour, I feel the charges were extremely reasonable (did not try to up-charge me), and they were very professional. Matthew asked several times whether or not I was pleased and went out of his way to make sure I was happy before they left. I will be calling them again. Thank you, gene (owner)

In the fall I had Rooter Hero come out to check my sewer line. I was having very frequent backups and they were getting more frequent. they looked with their camera and said the sewer pipe was broken. The cost to replace it was about $7000 with a 5 year warranty. the plumber who initially came out could not provide the estimate. Juan had to come, Juan who is basically a salesman! I knew this kind of work could be very expensive so I didn't question it. The work took about a week and a half, they did a professional job for the most part. I did lose some plants but they tried to preserve as much as possible. the inspections were done promptly. In the process of doing this my cobblestone path was taken apart. The last day they were here they had a guy come to put the path back together. He was working until 9PM in the dark! The job was awful. My stones are gray green and somehow some brown ones got thrown in from somewhere and the cutting of the stones to fit was not done neatly. When I complained they told me to have the guy who did it originally redo it and they would pay for it so that is a good thing. Recently my water heater started leaking so I called them again. I had to pay $3800 to have them put in a water heater that cost about $1200 at Home Depot. Bad on me I should have told them forget it and called someone else. Highway robbery!!! and it was supposed to be inspected, it has been a month and I have not had a call from them regarding the inspection. I called them 3 days ago about it, someone was supposed to call me back and I am still waiting! I will never use them again-I feel like I was really taken to the cleaners!

This is the second time I have used Rooter Hero.
My first experience was VERY good. Since I have been cheated by other plumbing companies in the past, when I had another plugged drain, their $ 77.00 sale price was very appealing to me. I wanted to see if this was a scam or honest.
In fact it was very honest and the fellow who came was pleasant, clean, did the whole job, solved the problem and it was as advertised at $ 77.00.
That brought me back as a repeat customer when I had another plugged drain. A different drain problem in a different line a year later.
This time my service provider was Matthew and he was by far over the top terrific. He really worked his heart out to make sure he was doing the whole job and properly.
Bottom Line: I just could not be more pleased and now for the very first time, I have a recommendation to my friends for a really good honest plumber.
A first!
In 30 years I have not been able to make a statement like this before and that includes my 27 years experience as a licensed general contractor who did business with plumbers.
Rooter Hero is a rare find in the plumbing industry. They do it the old fashioned way. They step up and EARN your business.

We had Rooter Hero of San Jose come out to do a camera inspection of our drains and to write up a report of their findings. They promised a written report within one day. First, they rushed the inspection and did not give us time to clear simple clogs in order to run the camera through certain sections of our yard. But even worse, it is over a month since the inspection and they have not provided us with the promised report, despite several calls and emails. What good is an inspection without a written report of where the clogs are? DO NO USE THIS SERVICE!

We had some serious plumbing issues develop and I contacted Rooter Hero for an estimate. Their representative Julio Septien came out and estimated the work for clearing out our pipes (due to water backup), replacing our garbage disposal unit and replacing our kitchen faucet. I thought the estimate might be a little high and of course it is always advisable to get a second quote so I called another company for a second estimate. Theirs turned out to be quite a bit higher so I called Rooter Hero to do the work. I am pleased to say that I feel fortunate that Julio was our plumber. This young man is polite, courteous and professional. He put on shoe covers even before he walked in the door. As he did each stage of the work he advised me what he found or needed to do. On top of his taking the time to inform about the work he was doing he was extremely neat and organized. He completely took apart the pipes under our sink to clear them out and they were very clogged. He was able to keep the mess from the pipes in the bucket he brought. He did the same when he dismantled the garbage disposal. He kept everything contained to a small work area (our kitchen is small) and did not make a mess. Even when he left, I noticed there was hardly a mark on his uniform. This employee of Rooter Hero is an asset to the company and so good at what he does, I would even say he could teach how to do the work to new employees. What I appreciated about him most of all was how polite he was when communicating anything about the job. Good estimates and good work from this representative.

For years we've known we had a main sewer line problem in our backyard (our house was built in 1949 using Orangeburg pipe for the sewer line - not ideal) but we have lived with the inconveniences, including setting a timer after we started a load of laundry so we could stop the drain cycle of the washer before it overflowed. No way to live. Things came to a head three weeks ago when our shower was filling up with four inches of water and our washer wouldn't drain despite giving it extra time. So then I was faced with the dilemma of whom to call. I settled on Rooter Hero for two reasons: 1) the initial person I spoke with was nice and wasn't pushy, and 2) They said they would be willing to go on the roof if necessary to insert the motorized snake apparatus down the pipes. I feel like I hit the lottery with Rooter Hero. Pablo Diaz was the first person who came from Rooter Hero, and I liked him right away. Pablo is an incredibly hard worker, articulate, and considerate. He's someone you feel has your back. He got right to the business of snaking out our line (including removal of our toilet) and pulled out the largest root ball he'd ever run across. But we both knew it wasn't that easy. The snake wouldn't go all the way to the back of the yard where our sewer line met the city sewer connection. Pablo called for his manager, Sal Sandoval, to bring over the pipe camera. The camera was only able to go 3/4 of the way across our backyard plus there was a sh*%load of pooling water in our pipe), and we all knew that our piping system was shot. Sal outlined the different options and prices (which I feel were quite reasonable considering the scope of the work needing to be done), including the amazing trenchless technology, and I knew that my wife and I were going to have to bite the bullet and get an entirely new sewer pipe from the house to the city connection using the trenchless system. Much of our backyard is a deck made of pavers so to dig all of that up would have been costly and time-consuming. Yesterday, Pablo showed up in the morning with workers, Ruben and Rolando, and Sal also showed up to make sure the work was moving ahead as planned. They started the work of digging two holes, each about 3 ft. by 3 ft. and 6 ft. deep at either end of the back yard. In our case, they also had to dig a much larger hole of about 3 ft. by 8. ft. because a previous owner had re-routed the sewer line to get around a swimming pool that he had installed. The angle of that re-routed sewer was one of the sources of the problem and the reason that neither the snake nor the camera could get past that area. Once they exposed the existing sewer lines, which were in complete shambles as we expected, they called for Raul and Joe, the two trenchless specialists to begin pulling the remarkably flexible new sewer line under the ground using a hydraulic cable. The pipe comes in 20 foot sections, which are welded together on-site as appropriate. We needed 60 feet of pipe altogether. Jose, their permit guy, also showed up to take a video of the work to show the city. I should also say that before the trenchless work started, Pablo had to convince the city to let us go ahead with the work without the inspection because of the dire need to get our toilet services, etc. back working. Without Pablo's persuasiveness, my wife and I would have been waiting several days if not weeks to properly use our services. Pablo and his crew worked through lunch, and continued working until 7:30 p.m. to connect all the new piping. Pablo was determined to get everything working for us at least on a temporary basis before he left for the day. He did that, and it was a joy to take a shower without feeling like you were on the Titanic. This morning Pablo and his crew came back to finalize the hook-ups and get everything ready for the city inspector. Everyone with whom I came in contact at Rooter Hero was great, including Karen, who works in their office and discussed contract options with me. Pablo, Sal, Joe, Raul, Jose, Ruben, and Rolando were all fantastic workers and nice people too. I have no hesitation in recommending the San Jose office of Rooter Hero for any of your plumbing issues.

I called Rooter Hero to assist with a main sewer blockage. They came out and proceeded to tell me I had a soft blockage and that it would cost 3K to hydro flush it. I was uncomfortable with the quote and solution. I then called another company who came out and solved my problem within 15 minutes for $88. I did pay Rooter Hero $77 for thier time. I called Rooter Rooter and emailed them to let them know the results I got from another company and they never called or emailed me back. Watch out for these guys. They are not looking out for your best interest. I was also told I would be emailed a reciept which I never got but they quick to cash my check.

Beware of this company! We called them last Dec to repair my 91-yr-old mother's sewer line. Rooter Hero said it would be $27K & after digging 2 BIG holes (1 on Mom's property & 1 in the street), they (Jesus & Giovanni) demanded $20K to finish. We paid them $10K because it was emergency work we needed done. 2 weeks later the work was still not completed & the San Mateo Public Works supervisor advised us Rooter Hero employees had no idea what they were doing. We fired them on the spot (Jan 13, 2015). The replacement plumber finished the job in 3 days! After 3 months of repeated requests & pleas on behalf of my elderly mother we still have not received a refund.

My experience was the exact same as David S. I called around noon and the Customer Service person was nice enough. Said they would call and give me a time. They guy called and said someone would be there between 5-7pm. I called again at 5pm and they said it would be closer to 7pm. When I called at 7pm the dispatcher said he had to reschedule for tomorrow. I asked him to send someone today and he said he couldnt do anything before 1am. What a joke!! They clearly knew they couldnt come and kept stringing me along so they could get my business. If they told me at 5pm, it was going to be closer to 7, what could change so drastically? Maybe they got a big job and mine was not big enough now...Anyway, was a terrible experience. They did not even call me once, did not apologize and the dispatcher was being rude. Will never call these guys again and will let my friends know to do the same.

When I called them again, I was given a time window. They did not arrive during that window. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use this company. I had two small leaks in a 1/2 copper hot water line under my house. I called them just on a Google search and set up an appointment on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. The said they would be out between 2pm and 4pm. Their office called me and said they were running very late and could be out probably by 10pm! I said that was too late. Let's reschedule. So they offered the next day, Thanksgiving Day. I said, no that's ok. I can do a temporary fix in order to get my water turned back on. Let's do it Friday morning. They came out Friday morning and did a visual. Pablo and his partner arrived. He was very nice. His partner went to sleep in the passenger seat of the van. Pablo said, no problem, we can fix this. One leak was a pinhole size, and the other more of a cut in the line (caused by me lol). Anyways, I asked him how much. He said, well....we need to replace this section of copper line (about 4 ft) and it needs a conversion from 3/4 (I believe it was), down to 1/2. Ok fine. How much? Uh....i have to contact my supervisor first and have him come look at it (What? red flag). So calls his super and he said he'd be there in 30. 45 min he shows up. Doesn't even look at what is wrong but gets the report from Pablo. Types in some stuff on his Ipad..wha la....$1600. I was like...uh NO. You're replacing 4 ft of copper pipe with a conversion and 2 90 degree elbows. How in the world does that come to $1600. His response...I really don't know. That's what the 'computer' tells me. Well, me tells me, that is ridiculous! So i start haggling with him, like this is some souvenir i'm buying on a Mexico beach and I get him down to $1150. Still ridiculous! I was in a tight bind and ready to let him do the job just cuz i had zero time to deal with this. Then he tells me he has to drive back to South SJ to get the parts! I live in Gilroy. I said, you don't have 4 ft of copper pipe on your truck and 2 90 degree elbows?? Uh....we don't always carry parts with us. WTF? You're a plumber! You drive a plumbing van! i told them NO THANKS. I'll get another quote since i have the temporary fix. Sent them on their way, shaking my head in disbelief. I have a buddy who was a working plumber, but now is an inspector. Called him and he notified a plumber friend of his and he came out on Saturday when my wife was home and fixed it for free- one leak anyways. The one that was assessable from the 'top' under the bathroom vanity. The other was under the house and he didn't have time to fix that one. But he fixed the top one in less than 30 mins. I knew the one under the house would cost some money, and i was fine with that cuz it was a dirty job. No issue there. He said to call back in the next few days when we had the time and we'd coordinate something. So in the following days, i get on Youtube to become a 'beginning plumber' and watch a zillion videos. A week later i crawl under there and fix it like a pro, while spending $40 at Lowe's on a 3 ft piece of copper pipe, 2 Shark 90 degree elbows and a Shark coupling. It was just one size pipe too. Not a conversion from 3/4 down to 1/2. I even bought my own copper pipe cutter for $8. Man, was it easy. $1100 !! Bite me! These guys are crooks !!

Beware! Watch out for this group. Charge was $250 to snake and run camera to check for damage since the drain had leaked into the ceiling downstairs. Snaked my drain and then would not verify that it was clear, but rather suggested $8,000 worth of work to make sure it would not clog again. Happy to take you to the cleaners on an urgent call. Be careful with these guys. I had another plumber out the next day who was able to verify the drain was clear and tell me that none of the $8,000 in work was necessary.

Great experience! called on Saturday morning for a kitchen drain issue... critical as I was having guest for dinner!!!! spoke with Jackie.. the best! she juggled the technicians around and they made it to our home exactly on the agreed to time. Adrian was very polite and professional ... used the electric snake.. cleared the problem ... all is good. The best $49 coupon on line. Would certainly use them again.

I called rooter hero to perform a leak detection at my house. They came out promptly, took photos etc. and said they would have a report to me in a couple of days. It is now 4 weeks and 5 phone calls later and I have not received a thing. I am out of pocket and will now need to call another company.

Rueben and Luis did a fine job of replacing the sewer line on our property by forcing a new plastic drain pipe through a tunnel created under our property and thus escaping the costly need to dig a trench. Fine job at a fair market price (which I compared to many other such jobs). Careful and clean and very pleasant workers to have around. The clean outs installed at the home foundation and at the property line were exactly as prescribed in the county code, and the job sailed through the inspectors nicely.

i call rooter hero pluming for some issues i was dealing in my kitchen the funny looking Eddie guy who help me was so polite with my grandma not only did he help us wit our issue we were facing , he also help me carry my grandmother to her bed . thank you tech Eddie !!!

This company is the very best. We called them at 10:30 pm on a Friday night because of a sewer line collapse. They came out quickly and determined, with camera proof, that my sewer line had to be replaced. I know they were being honest because this was not a new problem. They gave me a an extremely reasonable up-front estimate for trenchless replacement, waived their initial emergency service fee and their crew was back the next morning to do the work. They did the work quickly, got the permit complete and left the driveway better than they found it two days later. Mario and his crew were polite, friendly and professional. The area manager, Giovanni, is the nicest guy you will ever meet. He worked with me on filing an insurance claim and was very patient in waiting for payment. Most any other company would have taken advantage of the emergency situation we were in, but Giovanni at Rooter Hero did not. They are excellent plumbers who can do anything and are great guys as well. I know others have written negative reviews about this company but I can't adequately express how much I know otherwise and I will be a loyal customer in the years ahead. It isn't often you are treated so fairly and well by plumbers or any service workers for that matter, but these guys will do just that. I highly recommend them.
