John came recommended to me from a friend when my garbage disposal crapped out. He was able to get a part and come and fix it that evening. I could tell that he has a very strong work ethic. Unlike some other businesses, John does not price gouge you and charges a fair amount.

When I added a tip for his hard work, he told me I overpaid.

We have been calling John for our plumbing needs since getting our home back in 2011. He is so reliable and honestly lightning fast. Every single time we have any issues with plumbing he is able to quickly resolve the situation and fix it with quality work. There has never been a problem he could not handle.

From the dishwasher to the clean out in the front yard, he is able to correct any problem. We called tonight around 5:30pm and he was here in no time to help. Give him a call with any issues you have, he is friendly and so helpful! His prices are extremely fair and is genuinely a nice person.

Once again, John saved the day for me. Late last night as I was washing dishes, I had a major water leak coming from the bottom of my old garbage disposal. I left a voice message for John and he called me back first thing in the morning. Since he's closed on Sunday's, John made an exception to come to my condo to replace my garbage disposal. Such great service. I highly recommend John. He's professional, friendly, service is excellent, and his service prices are fair. John has also came to replace my bathroom sink and tub fixtures in the past which he did an excellent job. The above picture is the new garbage disposal he replaced. I'm one happy customer. We just moved into a house when we had a problem with the downstairs bathroom. It seemed to be a drain issue. Unfortunately, we relied on the Internet, which led us to Elite Rooter. They sent someone right away, but this technician was apparently trained to scare customers into paying for unnecessary work. The technician did not address the drain out in the back, only one in the front. Then he said that his snake was blocked and that some kind of flap was broken or missing. We were told that there was probably a collapsed pipe. He even called his manager, who gave us an estimate of over $1200 to send a camera in. We are only renting, so we contacted the landlord. Thankfully, we were referred to John. John came in less than an hour and addressed two of our issues for less than half the price we were quoted (for just having a camera sent in). John was professional, quick, and personable. He also gave us lots of advice to prevent future issues. Thanks so much, John! We will refer you to all of our friends.

A family member suggested Midas Plumbing YEARS ago and I've been using him ever since. Typically able to come out very quickly and has always been able to fix everything for a reasonable price. John is friendly, honest and always includes tips and suggestions.
Since COVID started and with the whole family home 24/7, our household plumbing has really taken a beating! Midas has snaked our sewer line, fixed a toilet, replaced a sink pipe and installed a new water heater--all within the last year.

John was recommended by a friend for an emergency hot water heater tank leak. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue over the phone, and gave me a reasonable quote after sending him some pictures. Thankfully he was available the same day and arrived at the time he specified. He patiently explained what he was going to do and was also conscious about the surroundings, and asked me to move certain things in the garage that could be in the way/at risk. He cleaned the water leak around the old tank and hauled it off, and left no mess after his work. After looking for a Plumber on Nextdoor and verifying on Yelp, I contacted John. He was polite and did respond to my initial emails. He called me back to verify the pictures I sent on the faucets to be replaced. He did a great job even though he ran into a minor issue where a tile was blocking him the access. He managed to get the faucets installed.
He also came back the next day to fix the ring on one of our bedroom toilet where the ring was gone bad and had to be replaced. At the same we replaced the toilet plungers. Overall he did an excellent job.
Based on my previous experience on plumbing costs I have paid to other plumbers, John was competitive but was on higher side. He did give me a discount. Thanks John.

This is the 3rd time we've asked John to help with our drain issue over 15 years. It's an old house and does not have a clean out port to easily unclog the drain from the ground. I have called a few plumbing companies that are either refuse to climb up to the roof (single story) to use the hydrojet to flush out the drain or quote outrageous price to do so. John was reluctant to go to the roof too because he is getting old BUT he called me back to check if I have found someone to fix my problem. It was getting late and already dark and John still went out of his way to come to our house, climbed on the roof and did the work with a super FAIR price. Upon completion of the job, John took time to explain the situation and gave advice what not to use/flush down the toilet to the occupant (it's a rental). I guarantee you that John from Midas is the most honest and caring plumber you can find in this area. I hope he stays in business or train an apprentice to help/take over his business with the same mindset! His service is A+++

John is very helpful and knowledgeable. He came out onsite and was early. He called to say he could be there sooner than he originally thought. I'm so used to service people being late that this was a wonderful surprise.

He was friendly and obviously very knowledgeable. When he got the problem fixed - the main drain line at my house was clogged so the wash basin in the garage wasn't draining properly - I asked if he could look at one more thing and he got that resolved too (the air gap on my dishwasher had gotten clogged).

I can't say enough good things about John. Finding a good plumber is hard enough. But finding an honest plumber is next to impossible, but John is that guy - the honest plumber. I hope we don't have any more plumbing issues, but if we do, I already know who I'll call.

I've dealt with about 5 plumbers in the Bay Area, and John is the best, hands down. He arrives on time, is courteous, and willing to analyze problems to the detail and explain what's going on and what the right fix would be. I called him a few lines to deal with sewer blockage, and also install a cleanout in our front yard. The last time I called him, I didn't even ask for a quote; I just got him to do the job, then paid him whatever he charged. John's a true pro, and the only plumber I want to deal with.

I originally found Midas Plumbing on Yelp, took a shot and hired John for a job. And now have hired him several times for any plumbing need. He is the go to man. I think he has picked up the phone every time I've called him in need, and he's here that day or next day to help. His prices are very fair, and he's a good person. We live in a Eichler and a couple times each year the plumbing backs up. John always comes out and is on time and does a great job!

This last time I called because our kitchen sink was backed up and my hubby was convinced the pipe had collapsed as it was not draining where it typically does in the overflow. Well... come to find out we had a clog on the line for our kitchen sink and washer and they had been draining to a overflow drain. It had been clogged the entire time we lived here! John cleared the clog in no time and even waited a few extra mins until my hubby arrived to explain everything to him!

John is a pro and we don't use anyone else when we have a plumbing problem!!

Is there a such thing as a plumber that is honest, reasonably priced, shows on time?? Yes there is!!!
John came to fix our terribly clogged shower. Explained to us what went wrong and what not to do in the future. The next time I called him to fix some pipes, he was honest to tell me what he currently doesn't have the necessary tools to fix them. Then he gave me advice how to shop for plumbers so I don't end up spending $$$.

Midas Plumbing will now be our one and only plumber for now on!!

John came to our house and worked for 2.5 hours to clear a clog that was really stumping him. He ran 130' feet of snake through our sewer pipe and still would not work. He said my clog was making him mad and he would keep attacking it. He never stopped working and eventually went on the roof and put a garden hose down the air vent pipe and voila, clog cleared!! He was telling me all about my plumbing and that I don't need a new sewer pipe that another company said would cost $10k! I would call John again in a heartbeat. He gave me some tips to make sure my sewer line would not clog like that again. He also got to my house at 7:30 pm within an hour of calling him.

John was amazing. First scheduled appt at 2-3 pm on Sat. He called at 11ish to see if he could come at 1pm. He came on time and provided me with a detailed, honest opinion. I thought he could of totally tried to upsold me on unnecessary repairs but he did not. I think he is honest, friendly and clean. I am glad I used Yelp. Another plumbing issue resolved! John came by to install a new garbage disposal after the one we had crapped out on us. It was quick, painless and reasonably priced. After the installation, he gave me a few pointers on how to address common garbage disposal problems in case we encounter any of those in the future.

WOW, I can finally drop off the kids.. again. 5 STARS!!

Excellent customer service. After destroying the shinazz outta our toilet from a drunken weekend night, we tried everything to fix our toilet -- we bought the snake-thang, plunged the sh*t out of our toilet and nothing worked.

We yelped a few places, and found Midas Plumbing. We called them in the morning and was able to schedule an afternoon appointment. Eric came to the rescue and was able to remove all the waste in less than an hour. He was very professional and knew his sh*t.

Definitely will recommend this place, and hopefully won't have to call them again (lesson-learned, ha!)

I was installing a water softener and needed a hard water copper line run to the backyard outlet and to the cold water kitchen sink. Midas gave me a reasonable quote so I told them to go ahead and do it. It took about 5 to 6 hours and the job was done. I had to clean up after them and remind the guy to do a pressure check since I wasn't sure if he was going to do it or not, but glad I had him checked since we found a small leak in the line he fixed.

Eric was quick to arrive on Friday afternoon to assess our situation. We had a leak coming from our wash room area and it was coming from the cement slab floor. He recommend we find a leak detection specialist, informed us of what to expect from the other company, then went as far as to help us find someone to come to our house that same day.

Eric is very professional, young (don't let that fool you), he has solid/strong business knowledge of the trade and is very thorough. He communicates wonderfully, works quickly and cleanly. He went in the area where the leak detection company said the problem was (Company name is Bullseye leak detection) and they were 100% accurate. Eric broke the cement slab nicely, quickly seen the problem, fixed the leak beautifully and made sure that he finished the job on Saturday so my family could return home with running water!

The owner called us back each evening to make sure we were pleased with the work and I can't rave enough of how professional and courteous both companies were to our family during this emergency. I would highly recommend both Midas and Bullseye Leak detection companies to friends and family.

This plumber is pretty amazing. He responded to our first phone call. Our water heater was not functioning so we needed someone to come out asap. He was able to fit us in within two hours. He arrived did his diagnosis and gave us a fair price to fix the problem. He was honest and didn't take advantage of our total ignorance of the problem. What impressed me the most was a follow up phone call the next day to make sure the water heater was working ok. Excellent customer service! Midas Plumbing is my plumber for life. John came out (even earlier than my appointment time) to unclog a shower drain. He had to go onto the roof to clear out the vent because the snake down the drain just wasn't working and he couldn't find any blockage down there. He was able to do this job in about 30 minutes.

This is John's company/business and he seems to know how to diagnose well and is pretty confident with the methods he uses. He's quick efficient, professional and friendly!

I highly recommend Midas. I believe in helping the local small businesses over the large corporations!

John, of Midas Plumbing, is fantastic. He replaced my leaking kitchen faucet, grouted around the kitchen sink and bathtub, and snaked out the gunk from my bathroom sink. He's totally honest and explains what he can and can't do, e.g., rip up a concrete floor to search for leaking pipes. His price was quoted up front after identifying what needed fixing so no surprises. John was recommended by my real estate agent who has worked with him for years. I would call him again in a minute. My own experience with Midas Plumbing was not so golden. Midas was highly rated on NextDoor so I messaged John to obtain an estimate for drain repair. Initially he explained he may not be able to do it due to access was limited but he could refer me to someone else. I then received a call from John requesting pictures of the area. I called and spoke to John and sent them. No response, no follow-up, no referral. I appreciate honesty but don't promise to follow-up to drop off radar. Not a good business practice.

This guy came out quickly on a Saturday which was great. He needed to fix a leak and a clog. Right after he left, I realized the sink was still clogged. He came out again and tried, very unsuccessfully to fix it........

Right at this moment, I have another plumber at my sink redoing his ENTIRE job. Once this new guy was able to unclog the sink and turn the water back on, he noticed a leak underneath. Midas didn't even fix that properly. What a joke - thanks Midas, not only did I have to pay two plumbers but I haven't been able to do my dishes in 9 days. Awesome.

John called after leaving a message with his message service. He called relatively shortly after I left the message. I explained how the dishwasher overflow kept coming through into the sink. He priced the project at a fixed price and said he could come over with about an hour. He arrived in the time frame he set and showed up professionally and friendly. Went right into the kitchen, figured out the problem, and fixed it. Along the way he explained a number of details about how the dishwasher and garbage disposal work as well as what we can do to avoid the problem in the future.

Basically, the miscellaneous small food particles that make it through the dishwasher filters were getting caught in the disposal pipe and clogging it up. Excess water was coming out the air vent and onto the counter. We will now run the disposal after the dishwasher runs and help keep it clean and clear.

John wrote up a professional receipt and pointed out the 30 day warranty for this type of job. He'll come back and clear the pipes again if the problem recurs within 30 days. My sense is we'll be fine.

Thanks to Midas and we'll happily call again, considering Midas our plumber.

Amazing! John called me back in about an hour. I got quotes up top 600. To replace a garbage disposal! He came within 2 hrs. Quoted 270.00, I had a small leak from sink, he replaced washer on that too. Total 290.00! I will definitely call him again if I ever need plumber for anything! He was in and out in 30 min.

After reading YELP reviews, contacted Midas plumbing to get an estimate for replacing a pedestal sink and faucet. I got a live person who answered the phone and was easily able to set up an appointment for my preferred date/time and the over the phone estimate was reasonable.

On the day of the appointment, Eric arrived right on time, was courteous, knowledgeable and checked out the materials making sure we had everything needed. He made a quick trip to Home Depot to get a missing part and got to work on the job. He worked quickly, efficiently and got everything done without any problems. PLUS, he came in under the estimate and left everything neat and cleaned up. Very pleased with the service and highly recommend Midas for plumbing services. I'll definitely use them again when I have a plumbing job!

Wow, very impressed, showed up in a half hour when I had a new dishwasher installed and the hot water angle stop was stripped and it couldn't be hooked up. Checked out the pipe which was old and warned me it might break loose if he replaced it but that was the first option. Explained what he'd have to do if it did break. Luckily that didn't happen but appreciated the warning. Replaced the valve quickly and everything worked great, even took a look a slow sink upstairs and cleaned out the hard water deposits while he was here. Nice guy, very much recommend his service.

About as pleasant of an experience for which one can hope.

Had a stopped drain in a single bathroom sink. Had tried all the home remedies, to no avail. Jumped onto Yelp and looked for a reputable plumbing service, and I was not disappointed.

Called John, who answered promptly on his cell, traded information. He said we would be working another job but gave me an estimated time of 1pm. Showed up at like 11am (that's right, two hours early) to see if he could take a look. After inspecting the situation, John gave me two possible scenarios and their respective prices before continuing. I appreciated the upfront nature of the possible costs.

It took him a whopping 10 minutes with a hand crank snake-e-doo-dad (not the technical term, I'm told), and this 40 your old sink is running smoooooth. Wrote him a check, he provided a professional-looking invoice, and that was that.

Thanks, John, for being prompt, professional, and most of all, effective. And thanks to Yelpers for giving props where they are due and getting business to those most deserving.

It's so hard to find honest professionals and I'm very glad to find John from Midas Plumbing. John saved us from being without a sink for a few days. We originally had another plumber come fix our kitchen sink but after many hours of going at it, nothing seemed to fix the sink. The original plumber says he needed to wait a few days to come back for another attempt. This is when John saved me from my frustration. Found John from all the positive reviews from Yelp. So glad I gave him a call. He was very knowledgeable and explained all the plumbing logic to me that was easy to understand.

Long story short - John came and fixed our sink problem in ample time. Charged less then I would expect for job that someone else had a difficult time fixing. Explained all the work done and suggested ways to keep the sink running healthy. He is my go-to plumber from now!

I cannot really say anything that has not already been said.

We have called upon him twice now for a clogged waste pipe - icky business.

He has come over same day and even earlier than was expected so he could help us out. Removed toilet because we have no easy access clear out. He cleared the waste pipe of tree roots and debris, replaced toilet, caulked the base, and cleaned up. All in under an hour.

Rate is very reasonable. He is quick, polite, cleans up after his work, and best of all, honest. I can talk with him about whether it would cost effective to do further work with the pipes or not. Greatly appreciate his services.

We'll probably be calling for a third time again, once that darn tree blocks our pipes again. :) But at least we know we can count on John!

So I started my search for plumbers by getting estimates from plumbers in my area with high yelp ratings. I chose Midas because of the direct phone estimate and the ease of scheduling. Also, he took my call at 6pm rather than forwarding me to answering services.

John arrived at my house and he was very profession. He examined my faulty shower valves, gave me a verbal estimate, and even worked with me on the price.

The job was done efficiently and with minimal intrusion. Furthermore, when he was done, the work sight was clean and there was no sign that he was there. I definitely found a good plumber and I can't say enough good things about him.

After my garbage disposal broke, I picked up a replacement at a certain home improvement store (one might even call it a depot ;-). The installation of the new unit was going beautifully until I tried to reinstall the j trap and discovered that the joint coming out of the wall had completely corroded and wouldn't reinstall without copious leaks. I heaved, pulled, and swore like a sailor trying to remove the pipe from the wall, but was defeated by the gods of ancient plumbing.

Fast forward a bit and I scheduled an appointment with John. He was polite, professional, and worked quickly to saw off the old pipe, install a new one, and reconnect the j trap. He then went the extra mile to make sure that it was working without leaks. I would definitely use his services again!

I had an emergency situation where the handyman that I had scheduled 2 weeks in advance to install 2 bathroom sink faucets was unable to do the job at the last minute, and I had family from out of town coming to visit in 2 days. I called John and asked if he could come to do the installation the next morning. He was able to schedule me in.

When he came out, he was very friendly, professional, and efficient. He charged a very reasonable rate for a licensed plumber (the previous company I hired at $90/hour I found out later were not even licensed plumbers). He did a great job and he was obviously very experienced and knowledgeable, so I felt very comfortable having him do the installation. I regreted not having called him sooner. I highly recommend his services, and will definately use him for any plumbing needs in the future.

Thank goodness for Yelp! I would've never found out about Midas! I'm new to the area & needed a plumber nearby, post haste! John Hong had a very quick response time! He got straight to the root of my plumbing issue promptly after arriving. John was very courteous and helped answered any questions that I had. John is as professional and honest as they come. I've used his plumbing services a couple times now. He is always prompt, courteous, and gets the job done quickly and quietly.

His rate is fair - not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive. And there is no negotiating or haggling, because there's no need to. He doesn't play games. For example, he gave me a quote on a shower cartridge replacement to fix a leaky shower. After some investigation, it turned out he only needed to replace the seat and washer. And so the final bill was cheaper than his estimate. Most unscrupulous contractors out there (with lots of reviews on yelp) would just have charged me the estimate I agreed to. But not someone with integrity like John.

And rarely do you find someone that's this good and is readily available. Every time I've called him (weekday or weekend), he offered to be over within half an hour.

We had pinhole leak in copper pipe embedded in ceiling. We opened up ceiling and found leak location. Called Midas and Eric arrived in less than an hour. He examined problem, made copper pipe repair, and reduced initial estimate because it was very straightforward job. Eric is a young man, very professional, takes pride in his work, and knows what he is doing. Wonderful for work he did for us. We have an old house so I am sure we will need him in future.

Found! A trustworthy plumber. I found John at Midas on Yelp and it did not steer me wrong. I had several old, loose faucets and other work that needed to be done. I am not impressed. After getting a quote from John and setting the scheduled appointment for services 2 weeks in advance, John cancels 2 days before the date. He states he does not want to do the job.

If that was the case, why didn't he say this on the day of the quote instead of last minute? This is not professional.

Came on Yelp quickly and browsed around for plumbing services, based on the great reviews I called John at 4:45 right before getting off work, and told him my issue with the old faucet that needed replacement. Definitely 5-star plumber n this area. My Kenmore economiser 6 losts pilot from time to time after 11 years. There is intermittent hot water. After contacting 2 plumbers, one was bed sick and the other never responded, I left a text message for midas plumbing around 11pm. John called around 2pm in the afternoon and showed up 30 minutes later and replaced the thermocouple within 30 minutes. John is very professional and reasonable in fee. I highly recommend him.

Excellent service timely and professional! Our main drain line was clogged. John did a great job clearing the blockage by running heavy duty snake from roof air vent and then tested thoroughly to confirm good water drainage by running water from two bathroom showers, toilet and even washer at the same time. After a co-worker's recommendation, I called Midas Plumbing the other day to get my shower fixed. My co-worker wasn't lying: the service was incredible. Not only were the prices amazing and affordable (my friend's plumbing problems cost a total of $500 with one plumbing company, but Midas Plumbing gave him a deal of around $200), but the staff was great. John came out to take a look, and he was friendly, courteous, and on time. He was at my door in less than forty minutes and was ready to deal with my shower, which he did so very quickly.

Their website stresses the 3 Q's (Quick, Quality, and Quiet), which I thought was great, because I always found calling a plumber to be a hassle. Because of their great prices and friendly service, I'm definitely going to be a regular customer. I would highly recommend Midas Plumbing to anyone.

Oh, and I forgot to add, Midas Plumbing is open 24/7, so you can call just about any time and have someone pick up your call. How great is that?

John is wonderful! We've been using him for various plumbing jobs over the years. He has replaced bathroom and kitchen faucets, repaired leaks, replaced toilets, etc... He's always prompt, professional, quick and fair. Today, I called about a leak under our kitchen sink and decided to finally replace the faucet. He came later in the afternoon and was in and out in 30 minutes. He even offered to pick up the faucet on his way, but I figured I would want to see it before buying it. I called Midas Plumbing on a Sunday morning to replace my kitchen faucet, and John was available the same afternoon. He was very flexible about his hours. I ended up calling him at 2:45pm and he showed up at 3:05pm at my front door. I was impressed.

He quoted me a price on the phone, which was as low as any plumber I called, and he stuck to it even though the old faucet was harder to remove than he had expected. He was done in less than an hour. What else can one ask for in a plumber? I'll be calling him again next time I need one.

while doing some home repairs, I accidentally hit a copper pipe in my wall with a nail. As soon as I heard the hiss (of water) coming from the wall, I shut off the the main water line and went to Yelp to find a plumber. I saw Midas Plumbing was 24 hour. I called at 6:00pm and was told he could be there in about an hour. He came around 7pm and was out before 8pm. he work was excellent with very reasonable rates. I hope to not need a plumber for quite sometime, but when I do I know who I will be calling.

What can be said about a man with a 5 star average except that he deserves it. John is on time, clean and efficient. If he says it will cost $200, he will charge you $200 even if the costs go over. Every time I have worked with him the service has been over and above what I expect from a plumber and I feel bad paying his low rates. I always tip John and recommend him to all my friends, neighbors and even other construction companies. I won't use anyone else for plumbing woes.

Perhaps if John himself came out to do the work, our toilet would function properly now. Instead he advised his employee to come out. Despite our subsequent to complaints to John himself, we are left with a dysfunctional toilet that does not flush sporadically. When it does, we often must keep the handle depressed for a long time before it works. John said this a hard water issue???!! Are you kidding me??? I will gladly delete this post and re-post a positive review if John were to reconsider his analysis and MAKE IT RIGHT (please!).

I try to change the faucet for my old bathroom vanity, after 5 hours I still have a leaking issue just under the sink. I give up.
Next day I try to find some plumber in the craigslist. I saw Midas can come in 40 mins and do the free estimation. If the price is not reasonable, I will call some other guys. He gives the affordable price and did fix the issue. And also he gives me some ideas if I want to DIY next time. I feel the services is great and the price is fair.

Had a pipe break in our front yard (underground) on July 30. I called a local, well known plumbing company twice and each time was told the person I needed to speak with was not at her desk. I called Midas in the morning about a plumbing problem in the kitchen. He was able to schedule me for an early afternoon visit. He cleared the main line that was backed up, and then explained to us why running the disposal was causing blow-back on the other side of the kitchen sink. It turns out we have a smaller pipe. He was honest about the issue and explained that changing the pipe was not worth the cost. I probably could have save him a trip and our cost, but at least we got the main line cleaned out. I see it as regular maintenance--yes, homes need that too! Overall, I recommend Midas wholeheartedly.

Another company came and tried to get my business but my spouse was set on this guy. So happy I waited!!!!The other company came by trying to sell me a new water heater telling me how fast they could install it and how old mine was. They only wanted about 1500. I told them I was already waiting for someone to come out. So glad I did. John was very honest and fair. He saved us so much money and I found out we have a great water heater and its not even that old! Thank you so much John!! Loved having hot water tonight. I checked YELP and saw so many good reviews for John Hong that convinced me to call him. He came over 40 minutes later after finishing the job he was working on at the time. He decided to fix the valve by trying to replace the internal mechanism rather than replacing the valve. Replacing the whole valve was a big job due to limited space around it to work with. I was impressed by the effort he put forth to try to replace the internal parts. After these efforts failed and replacement of the entire valve became the only option, he did a high quality job fast. The entire job took less than 1/2 day and at a very reasonable price of $350.

This is a fantastic company. I highly recommend them for your plumbing needs.

Called Midas after finding them on yelp. They quoted a price and thought that might be a bit high so I shopped around.

Went with another plumber due to an ad for much less. After the other guys came and tried to snake for only 15 min, they started to quote me for installing a new cleanout($$) since they said they couldn't get snake around the pipe bends from where they were trying. I sent those people away and tried more of my self help.

The next day I called back Midas to see what they could do. After a little more effort than the other guys(~100 feet of snaking), my sewer main was cleared. Yay!

Wrote James from Midas a check and was pleased with the service. I felt Midas tried to really solve the problem w/out trying to simply gouge me for money in my time of need.

Will definitely keep Midas' number handy for my plumbing needs.

I called Midas on a Sunday. John came over in the afternoon as scheduled. We discussed the works needed, and I was quoted a flat fee (plus parts) upfront. He was courteous the whole time, and took time to explain how some of the pipes used (by the previous house owner) was of the wrong part and can be corrected next time. John had to run to the store to buy a stem for my leaking faucet, there was no extra charge.

I'm keeping his card and will definitely call him next time I need a plumber and recommend him to my friends.

I have lived in San Jose for over thirty years. In that time, I have used the services of many plumbers. None of them compare to John. He is trustworthy, honest and expert. He tells you exactly what is wrong and how he will repair it. I like the way in which he regarded my intelligence and that he did not condescend because I am a woman. I know that I have stopped looking for a new plumber. I have finally hit the jackpot.

Sink got backed up pretty bad on a Saturday night. Tried to fix the problem myself but decided to call a professional and I am glad I did. Didn't think I was going to be able to get someone out on a Saturday night, but I found John on yelp and saw the excellent reviews. He arrived at my house in about 10 minutes. Within a few minutes he gave me a quote and then immediately got to work. He is polite, friendly, honest and works quickly. Within the hour he was able fix the problem and told us how to prevent the same problem in the future.

John, I will be calling you in the future for any plumbing problems at my home. You earned my business!

We just remodeled and switched from a single kitchen sink to a double sink, we needed a new drain config. under the sink. We have a disposer and dishwasher so that needed to be taken into account with the config. We called Midas based on their reviews. The person I spoke to on the phone spoke a very poor English and had issues understanding what we wanted, but we scheduled a plumber to come out and give us a quote. He arrived on time and took a look, although language was once again an issue. He quoted us $285! For a few pieces of plastic and less than an hour of labor. We asked him how much it would be if he hooked up the dishwasher too, and suddenly it jumped to $450, for something my husband can do in about 10 min, it's just attaching a couple of hoses. While my husband and I talked it over, he went and got his tools and started getting ready to work, without us even saying if we would go with them, luckily I stopped him and told him we were going to get a few more quotes and we would call them back. It was a bit tricky to get him to leave, as if getting multiple quotes is a strange thing, having just remodeled, I know this to be the norm. Having finally gotten him to go, we called a few other plumbers and got some phone quotes, had Drain Masters come out, they were quick and professional and even with some extra parts we ended up needing our total only came out to $190.

Looking for a good plumber, don't look any farther. John is incredible--professional, personable, gives great advice, will do The Home Depot/Lowes trip for you, gets the job done right and at totally reasonable prices. I've used him for a number of projects and can not recommend him enough!

I found Midas Plumbing on Yelp after waking up to find water backed up in my tub. I was in a bit of a panic. I called Midas Plumbing and John answered on the second ring. I explained the problem and he said he could be here within 45 minutes. John arrived promptly, surveyed the problem, and got right to work. He had to snake the main plumbing line and was able to resolve the problem in very short order. He was very friendly and courteous. I would definitely bring Midas Plumbing back for any plumbing needs that I have, and I'm glad to have Midas Plumbing and John on Yelp.

Absolute best experience ever. Called at 6:30 AM, got an an immediate answer, and shows up at 8:00AM. By 5:00 same day our entire water main from the meter to the house was replaced, including a new trench, new Cu pipe, and replacement of sod and clean-up. Great price, great attitude, integrity, professionalism, and quality.

My house is 65 years old. We were getting up 4 times a year in the middle of the night with a clogged sewer line, DARN TREE ROOTS !! I had finally had it and called John for an estimate on replacing our old sewer line. When he came over, I told him we had standing water in our line. He sprang into action and snaked it 2 times. He got a big glob of roots out. He was so nice and tried to get me to wait until next time to have it replaced. Anyway, I did have him replace our sewer line. They had to dig 5 feet down and 36 feet across. They put everything in our front yard back the way it was, even our brick walkway. His father supervised and even helped the men. He was also very kind. I highly recommend them and would use them again. Hopefully I will never need them again!!

After I saw great reviews for them, I had hired them in February, 2013 to fix a leaky main water pipe joint. The leak started happening again at the same spot so I called them over the weekend to report this. John called me right away and had James come and fix the leak in 2 days.

Great job and reasonable price....Thanks John and thanks Yelp. This is a professional guy who came in on a Sunday and did the job on the same day. He had to work on a muddy crawl space and had to cut and replace a leaking pipe. It is definitely less expensive than All Star Plumbing which did several jobs in my home on some easier jobs and I ended up with bigger bills from them. Would surely use him again but hopefully not too soon.

Found this guy on craigslist, and checked his reviews on yelp, let me just say they are all correct, he is honest, very timely, and does good work. I had a toilet problem and he fixed it fast, gave me the best options, and did good work. I would recommend this guy as well as do business again.

With a house full of relatives from Denmark, out toilet broke down. Truly the stuff of nightmares. We called Midas Plumbing and John came out first thing the following morning. As usual, he fixed the problem in no time and our toilet is operating perfectly. The Danes are coming back today and we are happy to let them know that they can actually use the main bathroom. Our kitchen faucet was leaking so we tried to replace it with a new one. While trying to turn off the water supply to the kitchen sink, we found out that the shut-off valves for hot and cold water supply were both broken. And the new sprayer hose did not fit into the outlet fitting. Called John on a Sunday afternoon around 2 pm - He quoted us over the phone, came by around 5 pm and fixed all the problems + replaced the faucet within an hour! John was professional, polite, and honest! We are very satisfied with his excellent work and the reasonable rate. We highly recommend him and would definitely use his services again.

Let me just say that this guy John ROCKS!!!! This is my 2nd time using this plumbing service for my rental property and his is an exception to the rule. I was having a problem with my water heater. I just wanted an estimate on how much it would cost to fix the issue... a couple of other plumbers i called just told me that first needed to visit and check it out which would be $100 right off the bat. I scheduled an appointment with John to look at a bathtub drain leak with water seeping through the kitchen ceiling (lighting fixture) below. He provided some estimates on the phone based on what the problem could be, showed up on time, and did some troubleshooting one by one to isolate the problem. Without cutting through the ceiling, he was able to figure out the problem with the drain hole seal and overflow valve - and re-sealed everything with a high-grade seal. In fact he found that there was no seal put in place on the drain before, which seems to be the root cause. Everything seems to be fine now, but he said that if anything leaks again to call him and at that point we might have to cut a hole in the ceiling to see what's happening with the drain pipes. I am happy he found the obvious problem without going through any unnecessary destructive or complicated route, saving me money. FYI - the ceiling does not have any damage or mold in case you're wondering. His rates are very reasonable, as others have mentioned. I will be calling him for future needs as well.
