I've called this company about once a year over the past seven years or so, and they're great so I keep calling. One time early on, our downstairs toilet was backing up a lot, and then we noticed the kitchen sink doing likewise when the dishwasher was running. The serviceman said the block was in the pipe that goes out under the street, hence a CSJ problem. He took a photo of the joint or valve out by the sidewalk with the cap off and showed me the water sitting in the pipe. Fifteen Dollar also took care of calling the city for me, and their truck was out later that day to clear the line. I think they really did charge me only $15 for that.
About two years ago, we had an old water softener removed. A different plumber came out, and he did a great job removing the softener and rerunning pipes to fix up where it had been. It's nice looking work. There was some water and salt still in the bottom of the unit, and he dumped it square in the middle of our front yard. Which, admittedly, is only about 15 feet wide next to our driveway but... right. in. the. middle. A good half gallon of slurry, chunky, salty mush. I called the office, not happy, and left a message with the dispatcher. About an hour later, during a lively phone conversation I was having with the serviceman, Fidel arrived. He tried to mitigate the damage, but the ground was too soaked with salt sludge to do much. He forthrightly took responsibility for the damage and said they'd absolutely take care of it even if they had to dig up the grass and dirt and replace it. He said to wait a few months to see what all would die, and then he'd come back out. A few months later, they dug up the big dead bullseye and laid down new dirt and sod. Thanks, Fidel, it grew in great! Apparently, the original guy actually somehow truly didn't know salt kills grass. Yeah.
Over the weekend, we realized the downstairs toilet was leaking from the bottom. Nasty smelling stuff too-- for the first day I thought my four year old and two cats had suddenly taken to peeing on the floor. I called FDSD and Andrew came out in about an hour, maybe less. Super guy. Problem looks fixed, definitely not easy work for me or my husband, and I don't feel like I paid too much money. He also tightened up a leaky R/O valve under the kitchen sink. I'd forgotten about it, even though I've been walking on a towel and stepping around household cleaners for two days. We'd tried fixing this one ourselves and were going to have at again, but Hey, while you're here..! Took him less than five minutes; I don't think he even charged me.
