Description

I have worked under countless master plumbers across the country gaining a wealth of plumbing knowledge and wisdom. Attended the PHCC for its first year of accredited plumbing courses. Countless hours of training with all plumbing materials, equipment and products. Currently working to create my own program teaching teens plumbing. So far I have a success story in the form of one 17 year old who has been working with me for three years in his free time from school. He is already capable of performing most plumbing jobs on his own. The goal is to have him graduate high school as a solid plumber with all of his own tools and the ability to work well without direct supervision. I am hoping that we can pair him with one of our local plumbing companies saving them the trouble of vetting a potential plumber as well as hundreds of hours of training in turn making this young man a valuable member of the trade community. having the skills to make a livable wage after basic education should afford him the opportunity to easily further expand his formal education without some of the pitfalls that most kids face. He is already a success story. I am hoping to turn this into a much larger program asap.

Shane responded right away (after being neglected by the first few plumbing services I called). He came initially right that afternoon to access my broken water pipe damage under my front lawn. Then he suggested an even earlier date to come out and repair the work so my water would not be wasted. Very refreshing attitude! Shane and his assistant did top quality work in a short time. 10 stars if I could!  I had a bath tub faucet that would not turn off at 8pm. Couldn't come out to fix but FaceTimed me and walked me through the process to fix it. His significant other even came out and dropped off tools I didn't have to fix the issue (Home Depot didn't have the tools either!). The part is now fixed and works better than it did before. Amazing service!  He is incredible. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend!!

So we tried to cap off a water pipe on our own in the backyard...what a bad idea that was. We ended up with our water turned off and no way to cap off the water ourselves and in dire need of help. We called, thinking we would be SOL or spend an arm and a leg since it was a holiday weekend, but not at all! Shane was at our house within ten minutes to save the day and within 15 minutes the job was done and done well. To top it off, we couldn't believe how reasonable his price was; we expected to pay at least twice as much.

We definitely owe a ton to Good 1 Minor Plumbing and will be using Shane for all our future plumbing needs!!! Thank you again for saving the day, Shane!

Shane went way out of his way to drive out of his home territory on Sunday evening to inspect the plumbing situation I have. He let me know right off the bat I need a company with more manpower and heavy equipment for this project. Anyone else would have not even bothered to return a call, which I already experienced from another local company that I've spent thousands with over the years.
Instead of leaving, he took his time to go over what I was dealing with, thoroughly explained what should be done and gave me referrals for others he had confidence in for this job. Even after he left he sent more information. Obviously he loves what he is doing and has a genuine how can I help attitude. I will definitely call him back the next time.

I wanted to install RO under-sink filter in my home. However, existing angle valve was not good fit for my system. There was leak from old system during RO installation and City Filter recommended Shane to me. Shane came quickly on same day and fixed leaking issue. He also fixed the main water shutoff, which was also needed in my home. I am glad he was able to come on same day and fixed issue. Thanks Shane! I will definitely do some additional future work with you !!

Is there a reason we can't give SIX stars!
Shane had come back twice to check on things that were discovered during the fiasco mentioned in first review.  He has gone out of his way make sure some of things I needed done around the house could be done efficiently and even showed me things I could do on my own.
If you are looking for someone fast, reliable and personable - Shane is your guy.  Just know he takes care of his customers: so this may mean a non-emergent job gets pushed back for an older couple with no running water.
While I hope I don't have the need again, I would contact Shane in a heartbeat! His sarcastic sense of humor helps, too!!

Shane came out on super short notice at 3:30pm on a Sunday to help me.  I was trying to install a new kitchen faucet and it felt like the locking nut had been welded to the faucet head. After trying for hours to get the thing pulled apart, I reached out to my sister who asked him to come help.  He showed up 10 minutes later.

His work was art. He used tools I'd never heard of and skills that only a plumber with years of experience dealing with this kind of stuff would know. After about 15 minutes he had removed it!

He was friendly, professional, and did work that I doubt I would have finished if I had all week in just a few short minutes. Incredible. 10/10 would recommend.

Shane is not only one of the best plumbers you'll ever encounter, but one of the best human beings. He's a genuinely great guy who can help you, when you need the help the most. I had two issues, one with my water heater and one with my water spigot, that Shane was able to diagnose over a 30 second phone call and solve very quickly. He knows his stuff inside and out, is a master at his craft and is a pleasure to deal with. I wish there was more people like Shane in this world.

Shane is legit and probably one of the few people I would ever trust in my home when I am gone (at least without some level of worry).  His commitment to his customers are second to none.  I have had so many plumbing issues and he came in the middle of the night to save my sanity with a backed up sewer line.  Don't even bother calling someone else.

Update: Shane wasn't able to help us that Saturday night, but he came out the next morning (Sunday) and busted his ass.
He tried to help us get a plumber out Saturday night, talking to other plumbers on the phone and telling them what he felt we needed. Unfortunately, no one could deliver. So, Shane rents a 100ft snake the next morning, and comes out to do the work himself. Even digs a hole in the front yard to install a clean out to get us flowing again, so we could take a shower and use the toilets. He basically did everything he could and then some to to help us out. On a Sunday!!! So crazy! We couldn't thank him enough for giving up his time on a weekend to help us out.

If I ever need another plumber, Good 1 Plumbing will be the first number I call, hands down. Shane is professional, very knowledgeable, genuine and is willing to go the extra mile to help you out. 100/10, would recommend.

Shane, being the amazing guy he is! Wasn't available to come and help me out with an issue I had today as he was booked up but he was able to take my call and text and even turned into a FaceTime just so he can ensure I was doing things correctly. Here's how today went down..
I was in the process of replacing an old toilet with a new toilet (new toilet recommended by Shane by the way)and thought it was going to be an easy job as I just replaced my other restroom toilet last week but boy was I wrong. My water line valve had been rusted and broke off when I tried to turn it into the off position so I sent Shane a text with a Photo of my issue. He called me back in less then 5 mins and walked me through a couple steps and then he sent me a list of what items to go and grab from Home Depot(sizes, names of items and pictures )to make it even easier when I went there. When I came back from grabbing what was needed he asked me to FaceTime him so he can walk me through(step by step) how to remove and replace the parts that were crucial to this job, he even walked me through how to go about Turing off the main water line and how to properly turn it back on with out busting any pipes with the high pressure.(I would have just turned everything back on if it wasn't for his tip)
Overall even though he wasn't able to come by... he still helped me out tremendously and because of that- he deserves this review and some!! Definitely my go to plumber!!!!

Had a serious leak in the house, and this dude came to our rescue.  He paused a job to quickly, let us know how to shut off our water, and then came by after his job to help solve the problem.  He even text us the next day to make sure everything was looking alright.

Shane is incredible at what he does; he fixed the toilet within minutes, I was so surprised and so grateful. Not only that, it was nice having a friendly and familiar face around, he's great company. Also, I didn't realize it until now, but Shane went out of his way on a day that he was off to come help me, which was incredibly kind and thoughtful. He didn't have to, but he chose to in order to help me out. He really is a person you can count on, and it's nice to be able to contact him with any plumbing needs. He'll get the plumbing job done, do it really well, and for a very reasonable price.

I called Good 1 Plumbing because our toilet downstairs was leaking around the base. At least for me, calling a new repairman is like bringing your car to a new mechanic. You're never know who you're going to get and if they are going to treat you right. I can say for sure that Good 1 Plumbing will treat you right. You have nothing to worry about.

I was able to make an appointment online and was given an estimate via email. When Shane arrived, he was very professional and funny at the same time. He quickly diagnosed the issue and got to work. He not only took care of the issue but repaired another issue at no charge and gave me some good advice for the future. After Shane was done, he collected a check for the amount of the estimate and left the bathroom as he found it.

Going forward, I will call Good 1 Plumbing for any new plumbing issues. Let's hope there isn't any.

When I first called, Shane was in the midst of a job. He told me he would call back within 30 minutes, and he did. He scheduled us for as soon as he could to fix an irrigation leak in our yard. This was followed up by a confirmation text. On the service day, we received a text that he was on his way. Once here (early within the scheduled window), he got right to work, explained the problem to us and took care of it quickly and efficiently. He disposed of the defective pipes, too. He was prompt, personable, and respectful, with a good sense of humor.  We will certainly use this service again, and highly recommend him!

Shane came to my home to replace the shower cartridge that had failed in the morning. Gave me some great tips and showed me how to change it myself if the issues happen again. He also gave me a recommendation for replacing my old non functional water softener, gave me a quote and the brand to buy so he can install at a later date. Honest dependable and over great guy. Shane does awesome work.  He can fix any plumbing problem or answer any plumbing question.  He is very thorough.  He has installed bathroom faucets at our house, installed shower heads, installed toilets, a new water softener and fixed the installation of a dishwasher that was not installed properly.

Our garbage disposal stopped working on Friday night. Luckily Shane squeezed us into his schedule Saturday morning not wanting us to be without a sink for too long. He said it would be a quick job, based on what I described. He was here for less than 10 minutes! He gave us a lesson on what we shouldn't put down the garbage disposal AND taught us how to do a simple fix so we wouldn't have to call unless it's a serious problem! He was kind, funny and professional!

Warning!  This guy is a flake!  I Scheduled a month in advance.  His site gave a 2 hour window.  I wait for 2 hours.  Nothing.  Tried calling, straight to voicemail.  30 minutes after the window I get a text saying he had an emergency and he would see me the next day at the same time.   The next day, I'm waiting.... I call.  No pickup.  I text, no reply.  I Guess my time is worthless?  Super unprofessional.  2x noshow!!! Do not trust Yelp.   reviews are wrong.

Forget the 5 star I would give him 10+ if yelp let me! I had a water leak that I thought was from my bathroom upstairs that was making sounds, and it leaked all the way to my kitchen ceiling. Call a bunch of plumbers wanting to charge me even before looking at the problem. Only Shane return my phone call and told me that he can come in the afternoon but also referred me to another business if I needed to taken care of faster! That right there impress me because who does that nowadays to give up work to another company! Shane even work with my schedule that day because of some errands I had to run. He came to the house went upstairs and check out the problem and told me it wasn't the bathroom but the bathroom sink which I never use but didn't know that it was leaking underneath ad soaking through the cabinet. No wonder my water bill was so high. He replace the broken relay valve and install new ones shut off the water from the sink and also outside. Also one other things he always take off his shoes going in and out. No other business that I have hired have any respect like Shane does! The reviews for him on yelp is true and on the money.  This guy is a straight shooter and will always have my business! He is a workhorse and will get the job done rain or shine. Highly recommend! Don't call any other plumbers until you call Shane first! He's very humble and is like a part of my family now! Thank so much bro!

Had a faulty PRV that needed replacing and called Shane. Him and Abel came out for the replacement and spent a little more time replacing it with a beefier unit. I noticed some loud vibrations later that night and Shane came immediately the next day to diagnose. The pressure was increased and the sound went away until later that night. Called Shane back and he sent Abel back out to help correct the the noise issue. He went back to exchange the PRV and replace it with another unit. Turns out the initial replacement was faulty and the noise went away once it was replaced with a new unit. Shane and Abel went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of and they stand behind their work. Don't hesitate to call them if you have any plumbing needs.

Shane is a seasoned and friendly professional that knows how to run a small yet smooth operation.

After booking our appt we received status updates with a more accurate time frame of his arrival. It's nice that more and more businesses provide this service as it's useful to know a service providers arrival time instead of being stuck at home all day.

He briefly surveyed our property and knew how to tackle our urgent problem and gave us a reasonable quote with alternative options.

After finishing the job, he showed us his work and guaranteed his work with a warranty.

He told us that he goes to each job-site himself to make sure the work is done right based on his extensive experience. As a small business owner myself, I hope he can grow his operation without sacrificing on quality. Some of these plumbing companies will send inexperienced plumbers to your home so they can make a little more off the back of their interns but at the expense of quality work. Hope he doesn't go that route.

To date his work has been solid and we would definitely go with him again.

Our kitchen sink was clogged up. I was able to schedule and book Shane thru his website in the morning. Shane had been communicative about his ETA. Shane was able to unclog our sink. I was asked by someone who does not speak English to get a plumber. She didn't want a plumber - especially because of her language barrier. So she waited years until there were many issues / problems in the house. Many times, I was wiping up yucky stuff leaking onto her floor - it was so gross!

So I was looking for someone friendly and patient. If you search for plumbers in the Bay Area by highest rating, Shane comes up #1 BY FAR. I'm familiar with Yelp, so I read through some reviews because it's nearly impossible to have a 5 star history like that, especially in a job like plumbing.

The house owner that doesn't speak English said this about Shane - just from observing him working on all the plumbing issues (some serious):

Shane is hard working, fast, efficient, and has an honest and positive personality. He leaves your house with everything repaired and fixed very well. And the customer (she's referring to her feeling) is left in their home feeling happy with a sense of peace.

I find her feeback of Shane significant because you can imagine how amazing he is if so much is said by someone who can't even speak directly to him.

It's rare to find a human being with this level of dedication and care - especially bringing it to his work, and even more so, in a difficult customer service role like plumbing.

I read his mission statement and I absolutely agree Shane treats every customer like his own immediate family. In fact, my brother also does plumbing and other work - and I already know (because we asked) he would have CHARGED MORE!

Shane's not just honest about pricing, estimate, etc. He's also sincere with whatever kindness and respect he brings with him when he's in your home.

He also patiently answers all your questions. Some service people give off a vibe like DON'T BOTHER ME! because they want to save time and make the money. But Shane is positive and patient - qualities that make customers at ease to bring up any issues / concerns (no matter how small).

Maybe one day if he grows a sizeable company, he can write books about customer service, being a great human being, and give motivational speeches or construct customer service programs / training for all types of corporations. (A multi-billion dollar industry).

In my experience, when a plumber leaves your house, you're like omg. Maybe they stepped all over your house in dirty boots, acted like they can't stand fixing your stuff. But with Shane, you wonder when you'll see your new brother again!!

Wanted to gone some major props to Shane and Good 1 Plumbing

Needed 4 bath sinks installed and Shane was not only quick but the installation was on point -zero issues
Was on time and on quote which in these days is never the case when you're needing help on a project like this.
And reasonably priced too

And none of the usual charges and extra work out of left field like some plumbers in town

A bit overdue and I apologize to Shane.   I've delayed installing a Pelican whole house water filter for months.  I truly believe in supporting local business owners, especially during economic hard times CV19 created.

I found Shane on Yelp.  What was consistent were his 5-star reviews.  Without hesitation, I called Shane and he met me about an hour later.   After diagnosing and assessing equipment, we negotiated a SUPER reasonable price .  A few days later, the work was completed with no problems.

Shane provided a thorough walk through with the filtration system and cleaned up after himself.  He even fixed a few pipes which needed maintenance due to the age of the home.  

I was extremely impressed with his level of care and professionalism.  I will definitely hire him again.

Shane is such a cool guy. Not only is his work too notch. He has the best prices hands down. He's courteous, smart, and doesn't try to trick you into doing unnecessary things. He recommended a very reasonably priced water softener for me to buy and he installed it in a few hours. Next week, he's gonna install a reverse osmosis system for me too.

I called up Shane to fix my garbage disposal system in the kitchen sink.
He was so prompt and came by the same day to take a look at it. He fixed it in just 5 minutes !!!
And on top of that he gave us good suggestions on how we can maintain these systems.

I scheduled online, wondering if it would go smoothly. I didn't expect a plumber to be internet savvy, but Good 1 Minor Plumbing was on point. It was soooo convenient! When you have a husband and 3 sons, plumbing issues are bound to happen. Thanks to one particularly talented child, we were unable to resolve a toilet clog ourselves. Shane to the rescue!  Our water main broke on a Saturday at the beginning of a holiday weekend.  I called Good 1 and got a call back in minutes.  It was about 7:00pm and Shane was there in 15 minutes.  He diagnosed the problem, got the parts he needed and I was able to take a shower that night.  His amazing attention to the smallest detail to prevent future problems blew us away and the time he took the time for those details even if it took more time from his Saturday night. 
 
He has such an amazing work ethic and believes in helping people.  His prices are beyond fair and he didn't charge me for a weekend emergency visit.  I had a great go-to plumber but he wasn't available and I'm actually happy!  I found Good 1 now and can help a great local business and receive kind and compassionate service from an incredibly detailed plumber.  What a gem!

Summary:
Professional, honest, and great communicator. I found my new plumber. Better than Fantastic Rooter.

My issue involved a kitchen sink that would drain very slowly. Shane responded to my Yelp message within 10 minutes and was at my house within the the hour. Shane asked a couple diagnostic questions in regard to the frequency and degree of our drainage issue. We answer his question and also explained that another plumber snaked the drain a year earlier but the problem came back again.

Shane and his apprentice proceeded to the clean out the drain. Upon removal clean out cap, we could see all the gunk that has been accumulating. After snaking 75 feet of the drain, we filled the fill sink with water and observed the sink drained as expected.  

At this point a normal plumber would have given me the bill and be on their way. However, Shane suggest we fill the sink a couple more times. As he was not full convinced that we cleared the drain based on well the sink drained (audibly) and through observing the vortex formation in the sink. After the 2nd or 3rd fills, the sink drain slowly again. Shane et apprentice snaked the drain again. Afterwards the sink drained faster than before. He and his team cleaned up the site nicely. Before they left, Shane offered some great tips for drain maintenance to mitigate the drain from being clogged again.

Shane is clearly an experienced plumber and has great communication skill as explained each step and his logic behind it. I would not hesitate to call him again.

Shane is an honest, responsive and friendly plumber. He was very responsive to Yelp messages and quoted me a very reasonable price for the work I wanted him to do. We had him replace 4 bathroom faucets in our home for a very reasonable price. He arrived on time, took all the right Covid-19 precautions and completed the work in a very efficient manner. Talking to Shane while he was working on the faucets made me realize that he is a very experienced plumber and knows his craft very well. Looking at his work on the faucets, I decided to call Shane back to replace our water main supply valve and add a new valve for controlling the irrigation. His work on these valves was also top notch and very reasonably priced. I'm glad I found a good plumber who is honest and can be relied upon.

A few month back my mom was complaining about her faucet being difficult to operate and that she wanted it replaced. I saw the great reviews on yelp and reached out. Shane was quick to respond, we set up an appointment and he can and conquered the extremely stubborn faucet. But the replacement faucet was to tall. Shane scheduled a call back the following day  so my mom could go and find something that had a suitable replacement. She ran in to Shane at the hardware store and he helped he select a better replacement. The next day he came and set the new faucet in place and mom was happy.
Now come this week, we found that her electric tankless water heater is leaking and she calls Shane on Sunday and he was so nice to stop by and see what was going on. He told us to shut off the breakers to the water heater and that he would return Monday to look at it and walked us through the options to replace it. We gave him the green light and he ordered the replacement and returned Wednesday with his electrician and removed the old unit and installed the new unit and mom is happy to have hot water.

Our tub drain backed up Saturday evening (too late for tool rental).  Good 1 Plumbing had great reviews, and when contacted asked some initial exploratory questions.  After identifying severity of issue (unpleasant odor, but could definitely wait until morning), Shane arranged to be here around 10am Sunday.  Texted several minutes prior to inform us he was en route.  Arrived shortly after 10, surveyed the situation, and proceeded to get to work.  Problem solved within a short amount of time.  After completing the work, Shane shared several options we could pursue on our own to better ensure these types of issues don't repeat themselves.  Needless to say we are very satisfied.  Shane is personable, professional, and took the time to explain and address our concerns.  IF there are future plumbing concerns, Shane will definitely be our first call.

Shane came out this week and installed a whole

Let me preface this by saying we will definitely hire Good 1 Minor Plumbing for any of our future plumbing needs. I sent them a quote late last night for an emergency repair of our kitchen garbage disposal. Shane, the owner, called me this morning and explained that we may not have to get it replaced after all. Shane is a life saver! Our toilet was clogged and nothing we did helped. I finally gave in and contacted a plumber. I sent out a couple of requests and Shane responded almost instantly. Shane responded to my call on Sunday evening about a water heater pilot not lighting. Turned out the water heater needed to be replaced. My wife and I found Shane via Thumbtack. We initially contacted him for a suspected gas leak which occurred after a bad plumber came to fix our water heater (and completely ripped us off)! Shane is a very efficient communicator, responding almost immediately. While he was unable to come out and help us, he let us know that our gas leak was a major issue, spent a loft of time on the phone with us, and had us promise we would get it sorted. You can tell he really wanted to help. It's good to know there are still good people out there.

We also had a sink clog, and instead of charging us for his services, he gave us very specific instructions about what to order, and offered to walk us through fixing it over the phone.

Overall, I would recommend Shane to anyone in need of a plumber!

Shane did an awesome job, i had a decorative outdoor faucet i needed installed; the set that was there had a long pipe and that needed to be re-done. Shane wanted to make sure it would look great not leak and be installed correctly. This meant he had to re-do the line coming from inside the garage and make a semi-custom fitting. He provided a recommendation and verbal quote for installtion. I purchased the Fleck 5600SXT 64000 Grain water softener online, and it was delivered to my home in 4 days. I've had Shane come out twice now. He very professional, honest, and always ask diagnostic questions first . He'll have you send pictures and he will tell you if it's an easy fix that you can do. Keep in mind, he has to make a living and can easily just come out to fix these easy problems, but he is honest. He doesn't take advantage of that. I stumbled  upon him by mere luck and I'm glad I did. I now have a reliable plumber. So far, he's done two jobs for me. He's installed a sink for me; stopped a leak that was the fault of a contractor trying to play plumber. I'm glad that I found a plumber that's honest, good at what he does, and local. In an area where it is hard to find good service without a lot of attitude and apathy, Shane at Good 1 Minor Plumbing truly shines. This guy installed a reverse osmosis water filter under our sink and a new disposal.

He did the job exceptionally well, but that's not why the 5 stars. In an era, where Yelper's routinely hand out 5 stars for showing up at the job; Shane actually earned 5 stars with his knowledge, recommendations, personable attitude, and beyond awesome cleanup of all extraneous hoses, traps, and puking free flow drain I had been living with for the last 7 years. He even came back to inspect for leaks the next day at no charge...IN. CALIFORNIA!  He is very detailed oriented and really knows his plumbing.

Now, our family can drink water free from pesticides and other contaminates that the local water company is unable to remove and we can actually hold a conversation when the garbage disposal is running.

Shane saved our marriage and protected our health! Ok, that last line was  sarcasm, BUT I do find myself looking for plumbing projects so I can have him back. Thank you Shane!

Just had Shane come out for a clogged kitchen sink. I called in the request, he called my back within an hour and let me know he was 30 minutes away. Showed up right when he said he would.

Talk about above and beyond... He snaked our main drain out to the street, pulling out a bunch of roots. He had to do it twice as the first did not completely clear the line. And he fixed a couple of small things I damaged when I tried a bit of DIY beforehand. And on top of that, Shane provided a couple of great maintenance tips for drain lines and roots in pipes.

Shane and Good 1 Minor Plumbing are exactly the kind of people/businesses I want to give business to: honest, fair (price he charged me seemed very fair), courteous (showed up in face mask, took shoes off before coming inside, etc.), professional, prompt, individually owned. I contacted Shane through Yelp for a dripping bathtub faucet. He was out of town but was willing to walk me through steps over the phone. I told him I would prefer him to come take a look at it when he gets back in town. He called me the day he came back and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. He arrived on time, took a look at the faucet and knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He made every attempt to fix the faucet in the most time and cost efficient way possible. He was very friendly and professional and I appreciate all the steps he took to help me and resolve the issue. I will definitely be calling him back for any other issues that may arise.

There must be a reason that Shane got more stars on yelp than a clear summer night, right? If you want to know the reason, then you should hire him. My house's main valve was leaking from excessive water pressure. Shane professianally installed a new PRV and a ball valve. He is a very friendly, knowledgeable, and honest guy. I can't say enough about Good 1 Minor Plumbing! I called him on bis day off for an emergency with our toilets and he was at our home within 30 minutes! Shane responded almost immediately to our plumbing emergency. Our garbage disposal stopped working right before hosting an event and we needed a fix fast. I would recommend Shane whole-heartedly! He's so easy to work with, and does an amazing job. I needed to have all of the cartridges in my showers and faucets replaced (love Gilroy hard water!), and thanks to him, I didn't have to pay for any of the parts. He recommended that I reach out to the manufacturer because they should still be covered by warranty and viola, free parts! He happily worked with my crazy schedule and now I have water pressure again.

Excellent response time, less than half an hour. Able to work me in next day for my unanticipated sink install. Fast hookups for sink, garbage disposal, and dishwasher. Saved me money by cleaning some of the old equipment, avoiding buying new. Offered instructions on how to keep the drains clear and avoid future problems. Cleaned up everything and had very reasonable charges. I'm hard to please because I'm a 65 year old female and I'm always sure someone's taking advantage of me. Good 1 was great.  I'm confident I got more than I paid for (in a good way). I will definitely use this company for all my future plumbing.

Shane from Good 1 Minor plumbing is the LAST HONEST PLUMBER.

Most plumbers are money hungry and take advantage of people. Shane is the total opposite; he was very transparent, competent, reasonably priced and understanding. Called him on Sunday regarding my clogged toilet, which later turned out to be an issue with my sewer pipe. Before calling Shane, I had called several other plumbing companies, they all wanted to charge just to come out and diagnosis the issue, some wanted to charge weekend rate in addition. I explained the issue to Shane over the phone and he explained estimated cost based on the information I was giving him. He stated he would not be able to give me a specific amount on the cost until he assessed the issue in-person but would not charge to go out and look. He came out later that night and tried to solve the issue in the least costly manner. That night him and I thought the problem had been resolved, after taking out the toilet and running several tests. Shane then had to come out two more times because of a problem that was out of his control and due to an old sewer pipe. In-between every visit he would check-up and follow-up on the status of the problem. It has been one week since he last came out and my toilet is running great.

If I have any plumbing issues in the future, Shane and Good 1 Minor Plumbing is who I'm calling.

OMG this guy is awesome. My insinkerator didnt work, i gave this guy a call and walked me through how to restart it. His advice worked and i couldnt thank him enough. I have Shane in  for multiple problems with my house and rental property.  On my recommendation, my son also used him.  Every time he has solved the problem or installed new plumbing in an effective, efficient and honest manner.  He uses common sense solutions and does not try to inflate the difficulty of the work needed.  He is respectful of property and easy to work with.  As a sole proprietor, jobs sometimes have him running behind schedule, but he is very good at communicating when this occurs.  He is also very good at fitting in emergency jobs.  Shane charges a very reasonable amount.

If I could give more stars, I would! I looked for quotes on my clogged sink fairly late in the day, around 5pm. I had 4 responses, but Shane was the only one who could come that day. He was waiting for someone to pay him before he came to my house. The other customer was quite late with his payment, but he still came to my house. He worked for 2hrs to make sure I had a working sink, even getting up on my roof with a headlamp on because he knew as a teacher I have a fixed schedule and would have a hard time scheduling another appointment. This experience was hands down one of the best service experiences I've ever had! You won't be disappointed!

Great experience! Had a leak and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Shane was able to get here within 30 minutes. He did all the tests to see where it was coming from. It turned out to the water heater.  He told me what I had to do and didn't charge me 1 cent. Definitely saving him as the #1 plumber!!!

He came over and was able to quickly take care of the issue that ended up being a tightness problem and was very professional, communicative, and kind. I had an unexpected plumbing leak that flooded through the 2nd floor to the downstairs kitchen. I have never had to call any business for home plumbing help and decided to take a chance on Shane. I hit the jackpot. He showed up with a friendly demeanor, mask,was super nice, helpful and had a plan. The source of the leak ended up being something minor to fix that just happened to cause a lot of damage. I was able to fix it myself. Our water heater went out while we were out of town. Shane talked to us while we were out of town, met us as we came home late on a Friday night, took a look at the water heater, got it squared away so it would quit leaking water until he could replace it on Saturday. He picked up a new water heater for us on Saturday morning and got the job done. He works hard, is efficient and really seems to care which is a rare find.  If you need plumbing work done, we would highly recommend that you call him.

I just had my upstairs toilet installed last night by Shane and his helper. Shane showed me the problem with my old leaking toilet and what the last installer screwed up, or just left alone without properly repairing the last time. We had a leak in the faucet of our shower over tub for several months.  We had several other plumbers come out to fix it and spent $1000.  None of the other plumbers fixed the leak.  Shane fixed the leak in about 30 minutes for a very reasonable charge.  He is a really knowledgeable and nice person and easy to work with.  We would call him again for any plumbing problem and recommend him.

I've found him ... the perfect plumber! I knew such a person existed somewhere in the bay area, but in the three decades that I've lived here, I will confess that I haven't had the best of luck with home repairs. Well, at the risk of sounding melodramatic, I think I've found my plumber for life, lol. So, I'm not going to be repeat some of the other reviews and tell you how Shane is so goddamn honest (he is!), how his prices are down-to-earth fair (yeah, he was lower that anyone else I contacted!), or ... well ... let me just tell you that his work is impeccable (he knows what he's doing!), that he's punctual (came right on time!), and that he'll go out of his way to explain to you what he needs to do and why. Shane took care of some rusty and corroded pipes leading out of our water heater. He was very thorough and made sure he did the job perfectly the first time around. As he worked on the repairs, we struck quite an engaging conversation that I thoroughly enjoyed. A skilled plumber and a truly nice guy ... highly recommended!

I'm not sure if I've ever written a yelp review, but I had to write one for Shane's excellent customer service/work/pricing.  I purchased a whole home water filtration/water softener system which was delivered to my house.  I went out for the day with my girlfriend during which time my husband decided he was capable of installing the system himself.  I returned to an extremely leaky system.  I called Shane and he offered to come over immediately (this was around 8 p.m.) to put a temporary fix and stop the leakage.  He then came out the next day to properly install the system and did a fantastic job.  He totally saved me!!!  I will definitely be using Shane for all future plumbing issues.  In addition, his pricing is totally reasonable.

I needed an urgent fix on my clogged kitchen sink and found Shane on Yelp few months ago. Shane was a very sharp and friendly plumber. He explained the issues to me in detail very patiently and proposed his solutions with pros and cons for my consideration. He was super considerate to take off his shoes without needing my request as he entered my house. He did his work very cleanly and carefully to make sure not to mess up my place and he also cleaned up all the trash upon finishing his work. He helped me remove the garbage disposal and drain the clogged kitchen pipe which works just perfectly until now. He is passionate about serving the community and is committed to offer after-service support. I feel very good about his work attitude and honesty to his customers. We had a guest bathroom shower that had not worked for years. We'd turn the water on and nothing came out. Shane of Good 1 Minor Plumbing came out to identify and resolve the problem. First, he arrived at the scheduled time. The problem turned out to be quite complicated (too complicated for me to explain). When the initial solution did not work as assumed, Shane went through a series of tests until he was able to identify exactly where and what the problem was. It ultimately required some cutting of the shower tile (that required no replacement), and the replacement of piping and other related parts but the shower now works for the first time in a long time. I was very impressed with Shane's technical knowledge of plumbing and his systematic approach to identifying the problem. He also cleaned the work area in the bathroom after he finished, which I appreciated. I would definitely call him again if we have plumbing issues in the future.
