Best Deck & Railing Contractors in Arizona
We had a complicated situation. They came in and easily solved it for an affordable price. Looks amazing. Our patio pillars were sinking due to wood rot underneath. They raised the roof above, replaced the wood, reinforced the floor, fixed the tile afterwards. They made a hard job look easy. I highly recommend them!

We had Vlad check out a wall in our home as a pre-purchase due diligence. He showed up to the appointment on time and was able to provide an estimate by the end of the next business day. His estimate report was less than ideal as he was unable to provide a breakdown of his pricing. His estimate was much more than expected because he wanted to cut into other walls. We did ask him to look at a ceiling, so I understand why he was providing information on that. After a slow process in trying to have him break down the pricing, he was able to give use an estimate on just the wall we needed repaired. We paid a $125 estimate fee in which we were advised that this could be applied to the wall repair when we were ready for it. Come a couple of weeks later and we are ready to fix the wall following purchase, Vlad has been non-responsive and not returned any of our efforts via phone call or text message. This lapse in communication is a serious red flag and I will not let someone that cannot even follow up with communication work on my house. He was fairly responsive during our initial inquire, however now that we want the work done, we feel totally ghosted. Perhaps the job is too small for him to even bother? That's fine...just SAY SO. I even gave him a chance by reaching out via yelp before I wrote this review. He responded, but it was a very non commital response. If you can reply via yelp, why cant you call us back??
I am not one to write a poor review...so this is more so a cautionary tale for others. We are first time home buyers and wish that we had done a little more research about general contractors before moving forward with this company.

Jeff is such a great southern gentleman. Really good and conscientious handyman. I truly, highly recommend him for any home repair you might have. Really, you'll be happy you read this.

Daniel and his brother just finished installing a new Black stair railing with horizontal stainless steel balusters. It was done in 3 days. If I could give them a 10 star review, I would. They started the job by making sure that my Living and Dining room as well as Kitchen area were all covered in a wall of plastic so that nothing would get dirty. The plastic went all the way to the ceiling, by the time the job was done, the rooms were still clean. They are very professional and courteous. We love the new staircase! I will be using them again for sure!

Pool Deck re-surfacing project went great, 2 days to complete the job, very neat and professional. I had the old deck removed, they fixed 4 cracks that were pretty deep, re-textured and then put the color on. I was very happy with the finished project. My pool guy said it's the best that I have seen

If Arizona can only contribute one natural wonder to the list of world wonders, I feel the awe inspiring Grand Canyon, in all its glory, should be removed, and Tony and his team at Budget Pool deserves to take its spot.
Our old 1970s pool was bad. Really, really bad. It was a mosquito cesspool. The surface was cracked. A skimmer and auto filler wasn't working. The dogs were using it as a toilet. The equipment was ancient and broken and energy inefficient. It was ugly and the pool line tiles were BLUE and YELLOW. The decking was falling apart and oddly shaped. Our situation could not have been worse. We just pulled the curtains shut and pretended the pool didn't exist for six years.
We had around ten companies come out to give us bids, and the results were all over board. I began to wonder if there was *any* trustworthy company out there that could do the job at a fair price. Some companies would charge the cost of a house to repair our pool, ultimately leaving us with the same ugly pool we already had, but functioning; others seemed to have no clue as to how to repair it; others have yet to even get back with us, and in that time frame, Tony has already completed the entire project!
This was our experience with Tony:
-I saw his many five star reviews, and noticed their consistency. I felt good about having him out to give a bid (even though my husband was getting increasingly annoyed and losing faith at my lack of decision making after having ten companies out. He is now ecstatic I held out for Tony).
-Whereas we had to wait many days for most companies to send out an estimator, Tony responded the *same day*. He said he'd be there at 2:30. At 2:29, we heard him at our doorstep. At the strike of 2:30, he rang our doorbell. Talk about on time!
-Whereas most companies took a considerable amount of time assessing, scratching their heads, and trying to up sell or talk us out of our dreams entirely, Tony took about three minutes. He listened to what we wanted, saw the vision, and advised yes--he could make it all happen. In fact, he made us a promise: I will turn your jungle into a palatial resort. Tony kept his promise.
-Whereas most companies waited weeks to send a bid (many forgot to send a bid altogether), Tony had a precise, itemized bid the following morning.
-The bid he sent us was the most fair and reasonable bid we received, and allowed us to include all of our dream additions to our pool. Other companies told us in order to get such a fair price, we'd have to lower our expectations significantly. Another company, for the exact same project, sent a quote $10,000 higher.
-When we shook on the deal, and I handed Tony half the money up front, it was not more than one minute later that a crew was at our door, ready to begin.
-Whereas most companies would take months to complete their projects, Tony advised he could be done in four weeks. Two weeks later, we had a completed pool.
-Whereas other companies advised us of doomsday scenarios and all the costly pitfalls they may run into, Tony remained positive with a can do attitude. He worked hard to resolve issues quickly and made no excuses.
-When there was one minor communication issue, Tony owned up to it, took full responsibility, and immediately resolved it. That shows *character*.
-I spent several days of my life watching Tony's crew, mesmerized by their exacting standards, checking every square inch of decking with a level. I am a perfectionist, and they exceeded my standards.
-They kept their work area clean.
-They worked until sundown. They worked weekends. They worked so hard!
-Any question I had, Tony was responsive.
-Tony understands service. He's nice. He's kind. He's humble. He's funny. He's hard working. He takes care of both his customers and his team. He's all business. He's got a good thing going on!
-The last thing Tony cared about was money. What he cared about most, was that we were happy with his work. The bid remained consistent with what was originally agreed upon, and I feel we got value for our money.
-Tony is licensed, bonded, insured and offers a 5 year warranty. He takes pride in his work. He's working more than a dozen jobs at a time, but makes you feel like you're his one and only.
-And most importantly, as promised, Tony and his team turned our nightmarish eyesore jungle into the most gorgeous palatial resort. We feel like we are living at the Phoenician now. What was once our biggest headache is now our favorite spot on our property. A relaxing, beautiful oasis reprieve. The kids and us love it so much, we are swimming in February!
Thank you, Tony. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making our dreams come true! You have been a blessing to our family. We possessively did not want to share your information with anybody, because we wanted to keep you all to ourselves. But now that our pool is complete, we are ready to share our best kept secret (you) with the world :-)

Rob and his team did a fantastic job staining our Tahoe Donner home. It was the first time we'd had our cabin re-stained since purchasing it in 2014, so it was definitely in need of some care. Rob managed to find the original stain color that was used on the exterior and decks. As a result, our home has never looked better.
Rob was very easy to deal with -- he's a friendly guy, with a focus on customer service. As the work dates approached (and once the work commenced), he stayed in regular touch with me by phone, which was helpful since I was down in the Bay Area while he was doing the work.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Rob also provides great work at an excellent value -- he gave us the best quote of the 3 companies we reached out to, and completed the work on-time and on-budget.
We will not hesitate to use United Paint and Stain again the next time the exterior of our home needs a little TLC. They're great!

Jason and his team delivered a great product. We did a full front and back yard landscape job from scratch, so there were many elements. Hardscape, Planting, Turf, Sports areas, Pavers, Structures, Misting all turned out fantastic. Jason was on top of ordering and getting jobs completed even with extreme supply and labor shortages. Would absolutely recommed and work with Flowing Wells again.

We had a roof leak into a very small space behind our water heater. There was small water damage and a bit of mold. Other companies quoted us $1700-2700 because they wanted to remove the water heater. Elias was able to do it for a third of the price without removing the water heater! He was a great contractor to work with- let me know when he was on the way and was very understanding of our wanting to keep costs down. He did a great repair job and we plan to ask him to help us with other projects in the house. Thanks Elias!

Travis and Lisa painted our home exterior and also did some interior painting. They were fast, reliable, detailed, and very reasonably priced. Good, honest people with a great work ethic. I'd recommend them without hestitation.

Refinishing a pool is a daunting and expensive process that few homeowners look forward to. After owning the home for 4 years, I learned that a build flaw with a popular defective bond beam rounded edge style that our pool was installed with never should have been used in the first place as chunks of pebbletec and large cracks started to appear. Based on the cost estimates I saw online, I spent a month interviewing pool companies and collecting quotes (accidentally became a mini expert in all things refinishing in the process!) and after 5 different company visits, I chose Shane and Cool Blue Pools. His communication, professionalism, pricing and quality far exceeded our expectations and we're thrilled to have a brand new looking pool. He finished ahead of schedule, coordinated with my existing pool cleaning crew throughout the process and we couldn't be happier with the experience or the outcome. I'd highly recommend Cool Blue Pools for any pool resurface/refinish project, especially if you've been blessed with rolled bond beam!

Do NOT use this company! Not only did they NO SHOW, for the 10am apt at our home today they DIDN'T CALL to even reschedule or postpone! By noon, my husband had waited 2-hours so he called, left a message and it's now 6pm. NO return call, NO excuse or apology. NOTHING! Thank you Erika, for wasting our time and the time of another company we could've booked in its place.

When we knew we were going to build a pool, we got 4 quotes (wanted more but some company's didn't call us back....). Randy returned my call, agreed to meet at the house to give me a quote. He was the only one who called the day of the appointment to confirm (a professional detail nobody else performed). In honesty, his was the most expensive quote...yet....he also seemed the most professional. His contract is all inclusive: if a price goes up, you don't pay the increase. Once the contract is signed that is all you pay. From the time we signed our contract to the time the equipment was purchased the price went up $7K - we didn't pay another penny!
The quality of the work is terrific. The communication is the best. Randy (the owner) or Matt (Randy's assistant) show up to the site any time there's a sub contractor. I think the thing that really separates Desert Art Pools from other pool builders is that they build every pool as though they are building it for family!
While the pool isn't finished....we are days (maybe weeks) ahead of schedule. Let me ask you this, who do you know that is any days ahead of schedule in this post covid Summer of 2021? Neighbor across the street is months behind (he went with a company that didn't even call us back). Same neighbor has been uncharged thousands of dollars for unexpected work. With Desert Arts, if there's an unexpected expense....Desert Arts has it included -- no surprise contracting!
If you want a team that shows up, does the job, tries to do the job as quickly as possible, treats you like you are family and not just a check....I really do suggest you go with Desert Arts.
We will continue to use them post pool build as our pool service people.

I was ready to contract for my carport, but Steve made 2 different appointments to clarify details and was a no-show/no call both times. One time- I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Second time- this is just bad business. I called Royal Covers and they were almost $2000 less, and 100% professional. Small, local businesses are my preference, but they must keep their word and be professional to be successful! This Owner is neither.
The fact of the matter is that Steve did not communicate with me that he chose not to do the job. He left me waiting for him to show up to an appointment he set TWICE. I have no interest in trolling him, I'm just stating the facts. In the end, I'm happy NOT to do business with Mayfield, and the professional company has no issue whatsoever with the layout or complexity of the job. Just a matter of knowledge and experience.
There won't be a 5 star rating for long if Mayfield continues this level of professionalIsm.
