This was my first meeting with John Edwards of Happy Plumbing & Drains in Ocean Beach. He is my new hero. It is Friday before Labor Day weekend & he was first to respond to my calls for help. Do you know how hard it is to get anything done on such a Friday without prior scheduling? The diverter valve on my bathtub spout quit working this morning, so I couldn't use the shower. Not a huge deal except that is the only way to get really clean in my place! He was finishing another job in my area so he was here in 10 mins! Saw the problem, bought the part, installed & tested...all within 1 hour. I thought his charge was totally reasonable & I will definitely call him again. Thank you, John. Had a backed up bathroom sink and some concerns about a possibly related slow draining tub. Based on good Yelp reviews I called Joyce plumbing who came out with the clear top priority of clearing the sink that was clogged and not draining at all and second priority to check out the potentially slow draining tub.

Joyce's plumber came and attempted to clear the clog in the sink but was unsuccessful. I was told I would be charged for the work despite their inability to clear the drain but that while they were there he could snake out the tub that didn't appear to their plumber to be draining slow at no additional cost...i took them up on that offer because if I am getting charged anyway I might as well have them snake the tub.

I appreciated the offer to at least provide a positive outcome for their services with the the tub, who knows maybe the slow draining would did improve, I don't know, I didn't notice any difference but as a result i am increasing my original one star review to a two star. The main thing here is the primary reason for the service request was to clear the sink which was not achieved. When another plumber was put to the task from another company, the sink was unclogged within a half hour of his arrival.

Note: After seeing this review Joyce plumbing did call me to discuss the situation and wanted me to reconsider the one star review. In the end I did decide to up it to 2 but I definitely think of it as a solid 1.5. His reasoning was that services were still provided with the tub and that perhaps the second plumber was not concerned about potential destruction of the pipes between the sink and the main and possibly risked damaging them in in whatever method they used to declog it. To me, the bottom line in this the simple truth that:

I called Joyce to unclog a sink and they were not able to perform that task.
I called another plumber and they took care of it with no issues.
As a result I had to pay two plumbers to fix one problem that only the other plumbing company fixed.

Joyce gets good reviews in on yelp and that is generally how I select contractors and have had great success in the past. A low review like this is no doubt  is a rare occurrence for this company and I honestly wish I never felt the need to write it because then I would have had my plumbing problem fixed without having to call another plumber and i would have a plumbing service that I felt confident in for any future problems.

I had received a quote from another plumber to re-route the plumbing due to a slab leak and posted a request on Yelp for a rough guestimate for comparison purposes with the understanding that a firm estimate would be done if I selected the respondent for an on-site visit.  A detailed description of the property and the project was provided.  Willis Brothers were the only ones who gave me the rough guestimate that I had asked for.  The other respondents all insisted on an appointment to visit the property and for a variety of reasons none of their quotes were compelling.  So I made an appointment with Willis Brothers.  What impressed me was they listened to my questions and gave straight-forward answers, even modifying their approach on a couple of things while maintaining the integrity of the overall project.  I preferred copper instead of PEX knowing the cost would be higher.  They did a fantastic job and started and finished on schedule.  The house was a rental and I've subsequently had them do work at my home and highly recommend them.

I called R&R Plumbing due to an emergency with my downstairs toilet and shower, which would not drain. David Starr the technician who came to my house was super awesome. He has great costumer service, explained if plan A didn't work then he'll have to go with Plan B, which was more expensive, but had to be done if needed. He explained throughly so that I could under the process, showed me how backed up my toilet was with the camera. The pricing was very reasonable, I will continue to use your services if needed. Also the technician that was with David was great as well. I did not catch his name.

Two other plumbers couldn't install a kitchen faucet that worked without leaking, but Jerry could! First he identified the water pressure problem and took care of it, then he installed a faucet that is going the distance. I highly recommend him! Honest, thorough, and worth it!

On Sunday afternoon, all of our bathtubs and toilets had a backflow issue.
I requested a quote from yelp and got a very first response from James.
I was hesistant first but after reading other reviews, I decided to give it try.
James received a call. After listening to my problem, he gave me the cost up front in detail.  He patiently answered all our questions and told me he would arrive in an hour. He arrived on time and he immediately diagnosed the issue. (It was the tree root that got into our main pipe!) James cleared out all those roots thoroughly.  He made sure everything is working. He kept his words on the price. If I ever need any plumbing services in the future, I will definitely call him again.

I made an appointment with a competitor and they never showed. I called Jay and he was very friendly and claimed he could be there after a few other jobs. When he arrived, he was very professional yet friendly. He quickly fixed my clogged garbage disposal- and even taught me how to use tool after giving me the wrench free of charge. I asked a few questions about lingering plumbing issues I have- and he provided quotes and discussed options on future work that needs to be down. Jay will now be my go to plumber- honest, fair prices, and friendly man to work with.

We had a great experience with Nathan when our shower drain clogged! It was a more serious issue than we thought and he was super helpful and explained everything well. Would definitely recommend.

Very pleased with experience working with this company. Edgar is quick to respond, professional, fairly priced, accommodating. The tech Christian always arrives on time, is very experienced, friendly, knows his job well and provides good advice.
Hope my water heater doesn't go out of order again anytime soon, but if it does, or when I need to install new one - I'll be calling this company.

Tim did an excellent job, above and beyond.  He wasn't happy with the way the bathtub faucet looked/worked, so he replaced it with an even better one!  He and Tyler were meticulous in cleanup, were courteous and attentive.

I was floored by the response from this person.  I asked for an appointment to walk the property to see all that I needed done. This was the email I received....Send me picture of the concrete. If its new and just done. You might be able to fix it with sand blasting but it depends on what you need done.
Does not seem like he wants to even look at the job to do work. So frustrating

Sergio has done a lot of work for us around our house. What started off as a job to switch out our closet doors, turned into plumbing work, replacing bathroom fans, flattening & painting our ceilings, building a new outside fence and much more. What is also great about Sergio is that he is always on time and is so reasonably priced. We trust Sergio and can highly recommend him!

Bob the Plumber and his crew were absolutely amazing! They responded right away and came in to do the job immediately. My sink is working as good as new! I'm definitely keeping their number saved and recommending them to everyone I know.

We have been using Tarpy for several years now and could not be happier.  Recently, our condensation pump would not shut off so I had to unplug the pump and could not use our central air conditioner.  When I called Tarpy, they we able to schedule me the very next day.
Michael Culpepper was the technician who came and determined the 20 year plus pump needed to be replaced.  Upon completion of that he went through our entire system thoroughly and made some recommendations which were spot on.  My wife and I were extremely impressed with his professionalism and his work ethics.  He took the necessary time to answer all our questions.  We would certainly request Michael again when we have our annual heater inspection.  Thank you Tarpy for another wonderful experience.

I've been meaning to write this review for a few weeks. Our family could not be happier with the quality of work and attention to detail we received as customers from Kevin here at Anderson. He was polite, professional, patient, and clearly very knowledgable. Thank you for the amazing service on our A/C unit Kevin, we will be using Anderson again because of you.

They were super responsive and professional. My neighbor had them out just when I needed a service, and so I had them visit me after they finished. It is pretty corporate in that I had to call into the appointment center and talk to the dispatcher to ask if this person that was already there could come over for an estimate. He was super professional and good experience, cut open some drywall as part of the $49 visit free, plus the $7 fuel charge which was a little silly for driving 10ft...but whatever.

Quote was $710 for a simple 2'' pipe repair. I ultimately got it done by another plumber for $210. Looks like their pricing is really high and very glad I got the other quote.
