I'm a 3rd generation plumber. Plumbing runs through my blood by default. I have attempted to work outside the field of plumbing but in the back of my mind. I took a brief break to serve my country for the U.S. NAVY as an Aviation Electronic Technician (AT2). But while serving I continued work part time with the family plumbing company. When i was honorably discharged. I wanted to be a part of the High Technology Hi-Tech to maybe part of improving peoples lives through technology but it always seemed no satisfaction eventhough i would do my job well, the end result was just consumer products like Ipods. So I decided to go back to my passion, which gives me a sense of satisfaction after each plumbing job that i do or be a part of. When a customer is happy im also happy.

The only plumbing company who picked up their phones after hours!!! They literally saved the night.
Had a broken hose spigot and water was gushing everywhere. Arturo and Greg came fast to the rescue. They replaced the spigot within minutes and had water flowing back in the house like the salmon of Capistrano -- Amazing.
Having no water for the night would have been a nightmare, but these guys saved us.
Thank you Castillo Works Plumbing. Arturo and Greg, hey thank you guys for what you do. We will definitely give you guys business again anyway we can and recommend you to everyone we know in San Diego.

Castillo Works Plumbing is top-notch work and professionalism accompanied by extensive knowledge for easy understanding and customer communication! I would recommend them 1000% of the time! The work provided is not just excellent, the aesthetic of the finished product is also taken into consideration. Clean lines and great spacing thats pleasing to view without having an eye-sore of a job.
My particular situation involved a gas leak that was caught by a drywall repair installer. The installer mentioned that the leak could either be coming from my water tankless heater or my furnace. I decided to contact the plumber for the water heater first who happen to be Castillo Works. I got in contact with Mike who took a bit of info from me and was at my residence within the hour. He was very thorough, but unfortunately, come up short. He didn't have a gas detection device on hand at that particular time. But knowing the severity of the situation, he was kind enough to come back the following day to do one more check with the device. Sure enough, the next day, he was able to find the leak. It didn't come from either the furnace no the water heater but from a faulty dryer installation job done by a third party hired by Costco.
Here's how Castillo works won me over. Mike could've easily found the leak, got paid for coming out and detecting it, then been on his merry way. Instead, Mike resealed the dryer connection properly, only charged for the detection and not the sealing, and made detailed notes so I can reach out to Costco Customer service so I can get paid back the amount due to the third-party faulty installation. Even mentioned giving Costco his number if they gave me any trouble. He truly went beyond my expectations when it comes to providing exceptional customer service.

Taking a shower and of course the Moen shower handle comes off in my hand. Well as in all things, stuff breaks in our 30 year old Home. This occurred at 4:30 PM on 4/5/23. I found the phone number for reliable Castillo Plumbing and sent Ely a text; he responded in 15 minutes and his very polite and clean workers came over early the next morning and installed a new Moen Shower control. (see pics) This job involved installation, welding, etc (see Pic's) They were done in under 2.5 hours. In a world of mediocrity these guys do excellent work.They are clean, respectful and polite.
I looked for a plumber on Saturday morning to have my leaking water pressure regulator looked at. I called another plumber I had used before located here in EASTLAKE but after 40 minutes did not hear back from them so I called Castillo Works. Eli promptly answered and answered all my questions, he asked for a few pictures, I hung up and sent them to him. He called me right back and said he would be at my house in 15 minutes, he was there in 10! He got on site, looked at the valve said he could fix right then and there! He quoted me a fair price and was in and out of there in 1.5 hours. I did not require him to wear a mask, but he did, which was nice, he was clean, courteous and professional. I highly recommend Eli or anyone on his staff and will use them for any future work!

Art came on a Sunday after being called that morning. He expertly fixed a pinhole leak in an very awkward location that was hard to access and work around. However, he did an amazing job of fixing it and clearly communicated options with excellent follow up.
Art came out on time for the installation of our hot water heater. He was professional, neat and clean work, and just an all round nice guy! Very responsive when I called on a Sunday morning and were at the house by noon! Great pricing for a Sunday! Thanks again Art for your help!
Yesterday my hubby noticed standing water in front of our kitchen sink- I messaged Castillo Plumbing for a quote to replace our garbage disposal. The price was fair (included installation and 3 year warranty).
Greg came today to replace our garbage disposal- he was very efficient and explained that the reason for the leaks is it wasn't tightened all the way (was installed prior to us purchasing our home) and the seal and inside had corrosion.
They applied the 15% off Yelp Check In and it was easy to pay online (they accept PayPal). Excellent customer service- Highly recommend

We called Castillo Works Plumbing with two separate issues--a clogged overflow drain that needed to be snaked and a HVAC unit that wasn't heating properly anymore. Both issues were quickly and professionally handled, we were given a great price, and advice for how to get the best life out of our repairs going forward. We're happy to say we have moving water in our drain and heat coming from our heating unit! Thank you!
I have used Castillo Works Pluming on three occasions, one of which was for emergency services at 7PM on a weekend when our water valve to the fridge started to flood our second floor. Art came out to fix the problem even though it was late at night. They are my go to for plumbing issues (Art just fixed an issue with a clogged kitchen sink) and he has also installed a water hose valve in the garage in the past. Can't recommend this business enough to anyone with issues. Immediate response, same day fixing of problems. Super friendly as well. Extremely reasonable pricing. Rarely write yelp reviews but they definitely deserve the praise! Outstanding work!

In a pinch, Art dropped everything to rescue the day/enlivening. Our water heater unexpectedly gave out while we were hosting Airbnb guests. Art was professional, kept us informed of status, and did a great job installing a new water heater that he ran to Home Depot to purchase for our house. I am so appreciative of the level of customer service and work quality. Highly recommend Art and I will use the business again in the future.
Don't use them, or at least call multiple plumbers to get quotes. The owner has calm demeanor and he will lure you in. He knows that works. Also, if you are in a real hurry, they will promise to send someone fast. But once you are in, they will rip you off, but you will instead leave a 5-star review because your plumbing issue has been solved, the initial impression in the phone was good, and you don't know how much you would have saved with another plumber who is honest but less smooth talking.
All you need to do is get quotes from multiple companies, and there are many more honest plumbers in National City and San Diego than these guys. Check out the negative reviews buried under all 5-star reviews and pay attention to their mentioning expensive. They are telling the truth, for example, this one:
Called Castillo for information on needed cartridge for shower faucet. Guy that answered quoted $350. When I told him my handyman, who moved to Texas, said it would be way less, he said then maybe he should come from Texas to fix. I found that to be rude, curt and out of line. Surprising when all their reviews are so good. Perhaps it was just the gentleman that answered the phone. Have called elsewhere and prices are considerably less. They were the highest.
My water heater went out!!! gave them a call they were the best price and literally came to my house in an hour and completed the job quickly and very professionally !!
I definitely would recommend them and will be using them for some other household repairs as well !!
Our Tankless Heater needed a check valve replacement, I called Castillo Works Plumbing and they were fast with giving me a quote over the phone. I had them come the following day to repair and they completed the check valve repair and additional flushed my system within 60 mins. They were very affordable and I recommend. I will use them for now on for any plumbing needs.

Amazing service! Our water heater started leaking this morning and we looked for plumbers here on Yelp, it looked like most plumbers can't get out until the next day at the earliest until we contacted Castillo Works. Art answered the phone and asked for our location, size of water tank and pictures of the leak/tank. He was able to source a 50 gallon tank and get to our house within two hours! Art is very friendly and knowledgable with the system, he went above and beyond by re-routing some lines along with the water heater install to make sure it performs more efficiently than the previous set up. Their work service van looks like it has everything they need for whatever situation may come about during their service, I would definitely give them a call if you're in any situation whether it's an emergency or a job that can be done at a later date. We've found our new plumbing service! Tagay!
I live in Chula Vista and on one of the hottest days of this summer, my air conditioning stopped working. The day before a company had blown in cellulose attic insulation. One of the workers had stepped on a cable and disconnected the air conditioning. The broken connecting wire was replaced with a longer connector and my air conditioning was up and running.
I appreciated Castillo Works for answering my call and coming out the same day. He was professional and knowledgeable. He sent me pictures of the attic.
I was not having a good experience by the plumber my insurance company set me up with so my friend recommended Castillo Works. Called them and the next day Mike came out and found out I had TWO leaks. They were very responsive, providing updates, time estimates, etc. If I need a plumber I would use them again!
Needed Plumbing service right away on a Saturday and Castillo works not only responded right away, their service and quality of works was by far impressive. I will definitely keep their number handy for any services they offer.

Our toilet needed replacing.
I purchased the toilet from Home Depot, along with all the necessary parts. I called Castillo on Friday afternoon and they were able to come out Saturday morning.
Technician Greg called me early Saturday saying he was going to be a few minutes late--I really appreciated the call. When Greg arrived he was courteous and respectful of me and my property. I was super impressed with Greg's attention to small details in the installation of my toilet. He did everything carefully and completely, testing for leaks and making sure all the seals were tight.
There is NO doubt that I will call Castillo again in the future, and I will be asking for Greg. It was great dealing a company that appreciated my business, treated me so courteously, and did a great job. My thanks to Greg for a job well done!!

Greg was AMAZING! After waiting 1 week and trying 3 different plumbers who could not do the job, I contacted Castillo Works. Greg responded promptly, came out SAME day (within 2 hours of contacting him), charged me normal rates (did not take advantage that it was an emergency situation). He was upfront about best case / worst case scenario and successfully achieved the BEST CASE SCENARIO given limited options! He was kind, respectful, and treated the residents (adult residential care facility) with the utmost care/concern and worked hard to clear the main lines so they could shower.
Will use him if I ever have a plumbing issue again! Thank you Greg!!!
Wow!! Talk about fast and responsible. I contacted them about my furnace needing repair. They came out same day and did a diagnostic. The next day they came back with parts to repair. Pricing was reasonable! Terrific job!! Definitely would use them again!
We have used this company a few times over the years. Most recently, our garbage disposal broke and we developed a small leak under the sink. We were able to reach the company and schedule an appointment right away. When they came to the house, our disposal was replaced and the leak was fixed so quickly! It has been working fine ever since. Pricing is fair.

the past week has been very rough, especially because of the time of year. Both Our garage door opener of 21 years and our H2O heater went Kaput. The search was on for a Family Owned Business for both repairs. Luckily, my search for a Family run Plumbing Business was very successful. Castillo Works Plumbing helped me in getting Rheem to send me replacement parts (no charge), 'was a wonderful surprise. Mike was very responsive each time I called with a question and the response time of his Crew was the very best! My Family and I who suffered through this time of No Hot Water, are very grateful. This company is awesome. I got someone to come over the same day to fix a kitchen sink leak. Greg came over and was able to finish the job and left everything clean and in order. Will only go to Castillo Plumbing for plumbing needs. Not only did they fix this leak, but they also replaced a water heater in the past. These guys are legit.
Called them on a Sunday and they were right out Monday morning at 9:00 to fix my leak. Greg was very professional and knowledgeable I would highly recommend them and hopefully I get Greg again.
This place is amazing. Recently our thermostat started acting funny, we tried to replace it but it still didn't work. My husband found this place on Yelp and I called first thing in the morning to see if they could come out that same day and they said yes! I ended up asking if they could come first thing the next morning and they were here at 0800 and done by 0900. Art was so polite and worked fast, I am supper happy with their work and would recommend them to anyone. My house is getting nice and toasty atm and I couldn't be happier :)

Art is AMAZING!!! He is actually one of the best repair technicians (for anything) we've ever worked with! Very polite and kind! We're in Chula Vista and it's going to be a HOT weekend (in the 100s!) I had to get someone out today! Last night our AC sounded different. I got nervous about it breaking down because it's been so hot lately, so I turned it off. After calling 12 different businesses that advertise same-day service, NONE were available. Then I tried Castillo Works, told them what was going on, and they asked what our address was. Before I gave them the address, I asked when they would be able to come and take a look at it (because two other companies I just called asked for our address then tried to schedule us a week out). Art said, as soon as he gets our address, he'll be ON HIS WAY!!! And he was! :) He was here shortly after our call and was able to tell us what was wrong within minutes! He gave me a quote (a very fair one at that!) and went to work - AND FIXED IT! We are SO happy with his service, we will call them back for all services they offer if or whenever we need them! We will also recommend them to our family and friends!!!

I used Castillo Works Plumbing a few years ago and they did a phenomenal job installing a new tankless water heater and connecting a water line to my fridge. Oh how things have changed.
I called them on a Wednesday asking if they could come out and look at my drains and dishwasher line. They came out that same afternoon and after looking at everything let me know they would be back the next day (Thursday) between 9:30am-10am. Well Thursday came and went, without a call or text from them. I'll be looking for another company to do the work.
Our water heater failed on Saturday morning and started the calling for plumbers in the area. I was told by a friend if we could survive the weekend and wait until Monday our cost would drop. Long and behold Castillo was the first to pop up and decided to call. Mike was awesome in giving a quote, technicians came within the hour. Greg was the technician that installed the unit but I appreciated his relaying of technical information and chat. The job was very clean and life is back to normal. Our water heater started leaking on Wednesday. We reached out to Castillo Works and his team that night and they came and purchased a water heater and installed it within a few hours the next morning. We are very happy with their service!
This is our second time using Castillo Works Plumbing. The first time was for a clogged shower. This time it was for two clogged sinks. Our technician was Greg this time. He was very courteous, respectful, professional and efficient. Highly reccommend this company! A++++
Called in to have a clog fixed in the shower. Got quoted 110 then said it has to be seen first in case there is a main line issue. After being seen he quoted at 250, and me being desperate to get it fixed ASAP didn't say anything. He said it could be the mainline and then had to wait another day since their equipment was not available. I trusted because they have done some work in the past.
The clog was fixed on day 2 in our shower. No mainline issue and I'm paying same amount. Paid in cash and said the receipt will be texted later in the day. Never received, followed up again and to no avail.
The stress of having to deal with the clog was resolved. They are nice people but had to chase for an invoice.
Greg came over because of leaking pipes under a bathroom sink. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and diagnosed the problem quickly. The cost was very reasonable. Definitely my go to plumbing company!

I was able to contact Art on a Sunday. Texted him the pictures of the leak and he was able to get me a set of estimates. The leak was coming in from a pipe that's coming out of a concrete slab. I believe it was called a manifold. Art came by bright and early, Monday. He was able to diagnose that it was only the cap that was leaking. Tony was able to snake himself inside by using one of the HVAC vents. This was impressive! It saved me money since we didn't have to cut through drywall to get access to the leak. I totally lucked out that the leak was not underneath the concrete slab. Tony and Art you guys are awesome! You found yourself a loyal customer. Thank you!

Castillo Works Plumbing, Mike is super reliable! Mike is very considerate and offers price matched! Easy to talk to and gets the job done fast! Good quality plumbing work and will keep on using them again. Mike will try to make time to finish the job asap. There are not a lot of plumbing company you can trust, Castillo Plumbing proved to be the best among the rest. Quality, reliability, and affordability all in one company!
We needed our water heater replaced. I called, and Art responded right away. He scheduled me for the next morning. Greg and Tony came promptly the next morning. They installed my new water heater in a timely fashion. All three of those guys were very friendly, professional, and courteous.. We will definitely use this company for any future plumbing. A hose connected to our water heater all of sudden starts spraying water all of a sudden. We called Castillo Works Plumbing asap. Greg came out in about 15 -30 minutes and did a great job with the repair. Greg also made some recommendations and told me of a couple possible issues that I should fix. However, no pressure to purchase a service or repair was made.. Highly recommend Castillo plumbing and Greg to anyone in the South San Diego and neighboring cities.
We needed work on our tankless water heater and reached out to Castillo Works, they first told us they would be here by noon and they never showed up till 3:45p. When he got here he explained the two repairs that can be done, we decided to go w replacing the unit for a new one at $2,000. He tells us he may be able to do it the next day or day after so we agreed. Next day we reach out for any follow up and do not hear back till hours later when he calls and says that the heater we need is nowhere in all of San Diego and the price jumped to $3,000. We ended up calling the Water Heater company and it turned out we were still under warranty so we got the parts shipped.
We still wanted to continue business w them and reached out once we got the parts, he tells us he wants to pick them up so he can have it ready and install the next day so we agree. He never shows up or let's us know he's not coming, we've send multiple messages and no replies. Im so glad he never picked up the parts, he has ghosted us completely.
If they don't want to do the job that's fine but don't leave customers in limbo and have the decency to reply to our messages.

Great communication! They showed up on time with a mask and did a full assessment of my gas line problem. They were polite and gave me all my options. He was VERY knowledgeable about everything (even outside of plumbing) and their 5 stars shine for a good reason. I hired them for my job and I'm sure they'll exceed all expectations. Thanks for being reasonably priced and I can't wait to see the outcome of the project!
Update post- project: Project turned out great! Communication throughout was excellent and all of my annoying questions were answered. They ended up being able to reroute my entire gas line around my house with all new piping (as requested), as well as add a water spicket out front, and change the garage disposal tube which was too long. The owner, Eli, is also super knowledgeable about all things home (not just plumbing). As a new hone owner, he gave me some other great pointers, including somethings to make my home more safe and some things to look out for.
All of the employees who came to work at my home were respectful, Covid safe, and did excellent work! They had to open up my wall and go through my cabinets and their repair work was top notch. I'll definitely be hiring them again! Thanks guys!
My water heater finally gave up after 18 years. Castillo was there the next morning with a team and a new tankless and had it installed that day. Excellent work and the team was always in communication.
My kitchen sink was plugged and Greg came in the same day that I called for service and added me as last customer because I had a family event on Saturday. He came Friday and worked at fixing and it was the sewer line. He recommended I buy a new garbage disposal and he came back next day. Then he came Saturday morning to make sure everything was working. He didn't charge me for another day's work. I saw their yelp reviews as 5. That is why I called.

Our garbage disposal leak late Saturday night. I made the call to Castillo Works Plumbing Sunday at 1:00 PM and someone answered. I got the quote and was able to schedule same day service. After a couple of hours, the job is completed and we can now use our kitchen sink. Technician arrive on the scheduled time, very courteous, tested the unit for leaks after install and left the area clean. Great job and pleasant experience!

I've been having a week filled with plumbing issues. And the one issue I knew needed to be addressed was our water pressure for my house. That's where I called Art for him to replace our water regulator valve. He was able to come by the same day to replace the regulator. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I told him that I was a first time home owner and taking care of big home repairs is all new to me. We had our kitchen sink clogged up and spewing fluid contents out whenever we turn on our garbage disposal. I found Castillo Plumbing at Yelp and with their outstanding reviews, I tried to give them a call. I initially spoke with Greg, he's very professional and courteous. He told me Art will be coming over at around 1pm to take a look of the problem. Art was equally professional, he's in constant communication with me. Eventhough he's very busy with his previous commitments, he let me know the estimated time he will be coming over. The unclogging of the sink was nicely done, very meticulous, explains what he's about to do and careful not to dirty up the place. I certainly appreciate them and would definitely recommend them to our family and friends.
Just an update, two years on & I'm still relying on this family-owned & operated business.
These guys are the best, and most recently they helped us repair a plumbing disaster at my mother's home when water pipes burst. Art replaced everything - regulator, the 25 y/o original water heater, utility sink, washer valves, gas line for the new dryer (that replaced a 30 y/o dryer!). He even repaired the drywall.
He took a complete disaster, and now it's a dream laundry area. Awesome work! And still the most fair & honest prices, hands down.

I hired this company after failed attempts from 2 other plumbing companies to install a toilet in my bathroom. Ignacio was the plumber who correctly installed my toilet. Just had Castillo install a tankless water heater. Less than 24 hours from phone call to finished installation and at half the price of the first estimate I got. Very good experience!
Our laundry room tubs drain gave out and left a tubful of water all over the floor soaking the rugs as well as flowing into the kitchen. After cleaning up the mess we called Castillo plumbing to come out and look at the drain. They were able to schedule us the same afternoon and the technician Greg came to the house and quickly diagnosed the problem as a shattered collar in the drain. He wasn't able to get the part because it was near on 6 PM but did say he would get it the next morning and return to install it. Just as promised he did come out with the new part and installed it very professionally. The service was great, the price was reasonable and the communication was outstanding. I would highly recommend Castillo and definitely use them again.

Our house main water pressure regulator failed and I have American Home Shield insurance but they could not help me that day. I called Castillo plumbing and they came that same day I called them and Mike replaced my valve in a few hours and I am so glad they were available that day. You can count on them. After having used Castillo Works to install a new water heater, I had some plumbing issues that I called them for. Luckily, after talking with Mike, he worked through the issue and we figured out it was an error on my part (pay attention when you DIY!) Mike was able to help me diagnose the issue over the phone, and was very generous with his time. Once again I have used the professional services of Castillo Works Plumbing Heating and Air. I am a multiple repeat client, and this time I needed to replace an older toilet with a brand new one I purchased at Lowes. So yesterday Art (a technician who has performed previous work at my house) arrived with co-worker Greg. Both gentlemen were very amicable, respectful, and highly efficient experts in their trade.
After having the toilet seat/bowl installed first by Greg, it was discovered by Art that the toilet tank itself had some some noticeable cracks and therefore was rendered useless. Art offered to take me back to Lowes to get a replacement, but I offered to handle this myself, since I knew they had a busy schedule. Art said he could come back the next morning which he did, and he called me to let me know he was on the way. Art easily installed the tank, finished off some caulking, and that was that!
The quoted price I originally got from Ely the owner was to my satisfaction, and my overall experience once again with this company was excellent. I will be using Castillo Works again very soon to have another toilet installed as well as having my drains cleaned out. Castillo Works guarantees their work and takes pride in their work and staff. I always refer my friends to Castillo Works for any plumbing, heating and air conditioning needs.

Our hvac suddenly broke down in this heat wave, i texted him at 8pm and responded right away. He came at 7:30 in the morning, diagnosed/ordered parts and our ac is running smoothly again in less than 2 hrs. This review is in regards to requesting an on site consultation and estimate of repairs. Called to schedule an appointment and requested an estimate of repairs. Immediately received a text message from owner requesting a breakdown of our plumbing concerns. Our concerns included a leak in the cold water supply, gas sediment install, tankless water heater flush, and a loose wire on the tankless water heater. We provided a list of repairs and photographs. In place of scheduling an on site consultation I received a text message with an estimate of repairs. I was quoted $150 if I wanted the estimate on letterhead. Pros - Responsive and reasonable pricing. Upfront fee is applied as a credit. Cons - Does not offer free on site consultations. In our instance we wanted multiple repair estimates. Paying out of pocket for every estimate would have defeated its purpose and exceeded the cost of the repair itself. If you are not looking to shop around this is a great option. Owner is extremely responsive and quote was reasonable.

My water heater broke down on Easter Sunday. I was very worried that no one will be available to repair. I got lucky that this company helped me right away. Ely is very prompt and professional. He came on time and followed covid safety protocol. Ely gave me a quote through phone then after we talked about prices (which is reasonable) he came back and gave me information between replacing my current water heater or changing it to a tankless heater which helped me decide to what I want. It was already late afternoon and he said he cannot do the tankless heater because it needs to be ordered, they don't store the equipment in their shop because once they buy it and store it the warranty starts when the equipment is bought (some companies does that) so you thought you still have a two year warranty when in fact you only have 6-1year left. I need my water heater fixed that day. THE RECEIPT STATES that if I decide to CONVERT it to tankless heater within 2 months the price I paid NOW will be added to the payment on the conversion. Which is great! It's like you're paying in installment. IT'S NOT HEAVY ON MY POCKET!
I asked to customize my drip pan by putting additional pipe that will keep the water directly to drip on the floor in case it leak again (photos attached) $95 additional charge with labor.
I also opt to have an expansion tank to help control the pressure build up on my tank ($250 with labor, photos attached. They also replaced my old water pressure regulator ($425 with labor).
Art came to do the everything and he is GREAT! He is very good at what he does, very polite and professional. I can tell that he is a hard worker. He showed me the invoice and it looked like Ely gave me a small discount (very nice!) Art mentioned a few good things about his boss. No wonder his workers respects him and works at their best and gives THE BEST SERVICE!
When Management and workers has a very good relationship and respects each other, it shows on how they work! I WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! GOOD LUCK TO ELY AND HIS WORKERS!
I discovered Castillo Plumbing today and I'm really glad that I did! We were having issues with what we thought was a clogged pipe. We have a sediment filter on our mainline and it failed causing a leak in our garage. I called and Art returned it immediately. The sediment filter had to be cut/removed with a new copper pipe installed to the mainline. He did a great job! He was friendly, reliable and reasonable. Did I say that it was on a Sunday? Working with Art has been such a nightmare!! Says he will come at a certain time, then comes hours later or not at all. After setting our shower drain a half inch off level we we're told we could prop it with a rock to make it level as well as a shower valve set to far from the stud. Coupled with a lack of communication and missed appointments our project has been set back weeks. Only for him to tell us I told you to tell me if there were things to fix. How would I know what need to be fixed, go ahead and call another company.

Ely came to the rescue only about 10 minutes after we spoke on the phone in the morning. He was luckily already nearby and came to investigate our water heater no longer making hot water. A quick diagnosis and quote were given, and he actually had a new water heater installed and operational by that afternoon. I have used this company various times and was always pleased with the service and outcome. Unfortunately, that changed after my last encounter and I will not be calling them back. I won't use names, but overall I had a bad experience. I had a leak and saw water stains on my ceiling. I called and they were very prompt about coming out to take a look which was appreciated. They spent a while trying to figure out what it was and they did, and fixed it the next day, which I was very pleased with. When they got here, they let me know they needed to cut into the drywall and that they DO NOT fix that. I said that was perfectly fine, actually that had happened to me previously and I contracted another company to come do the drywall. So fast forward, they complete the job and then they tell me they'll be back to fix the drywall. Oh ok, cool, that was unexpected given what I had been told but ok then I just work with one company now. Now this is where the service just goes downhill. Trying to get them to come out to finish the job was a nightmare. They told me they would call or come, and I wouldn't receive a call. It kept getting pushed further and further back. They showed up and said oh I don't have the piece big enough needed, I'll come back another day. Then just more waiting trying to get them to come out. Zero communication. When I'd finally get in touch, they'd apologize because it seems they had forgotten about the work they were supposed to do. Finally gets done and it looks terrible. My ceiling looks ugly and they used some sort of spray that got all over my other wall and there are now white splotches all around. Look, if you don't do drywall that's fine. But why make me wait over a month to get it fixed only to now be an eye sore. I am probably going to have to call someone else anyway to fix it. It was so frustrating and there was zero communication. I'm all about good service and even though the plumbing job was done well, I unfortunately will not be calling them back after having done a few jobs with them. I wish they would have just told me to go with another company for the drywall like last time instead of trying to do it all. And communication is key, I did not appreciate that I was the one having to try and track them down to finish the job.
Would definitely recommend! Called one evening due to a leaking water heater and was told someone could come out the next day. Art reached out and arrived w/in minutes (if not seconds) of estimated arrival time. He diagnosed the problem quickly and suggested we purchase a new water heater. After agreeing to the estimate, he ordered the water heater and came back a couple hours later to install. Art was quick and did a great job. He was very polite and left the area neat and clean. He even went over monthly/yearly maintenance steps we should perform. Would definitely call again for any future needs.

I immediately search for a plumber. Highly recommended was Castillo Works Plumbing by one of our church member Bro Dante.
I called Ely and Art; immediately they responded to my emergency and inspected over the weekend (Sunday) and same day gave me an estimate.
To my surprise, they schedule me the next day (Monday). Art and Juanito demo the concrete and replaced the Main pipe with copper piping within same day.

Ely is very quick to get you scheduled and fair pricing. He makes sure the job is done and provides warranty with his work. I always reach out to Castillo Works for any plumbing needs, from my tankless water heater installation to sink/plumbing repair.
Called these guys to come out to take a look at a fog horn sound issue coming from the pipes. Art came out with someone on the morning of 10/28. They checked a couple of things and wanted to check the water pressure and install some sort of device that will alleviate the pressure to see if that helps. They didn't have the pressure gauge or device so they said they'd be back. 1pm comes around and they're still not back. I text Art and he says they'll be back around 4pm instead. He then calls back and says they won't be able to make it as they're busy with another job. He says they'll be back next day after lunch. I agree in hopes I'd see them. Well as you can tell with the 1 star, they never showed up or even called. I took some time off of work so that I could be home for them to do their thing. Super disappointed in this company after seeing all the rave reviews. Completely wasted my time the past day and a half. I highly DO NOT recommend them after this fiasco.

Called for a plumber, my water heater was leaking a little. Castillo came out, the plumber barely looked at anything stayed 5 mins and told me I needed a new water heater and house water regulator. He quoted a price of $2600. The next day I decided to call around and get another opinion. The other company I called sent out a plumber he took a look at the water heater and fixed the leak in about 5 mins. He said the knob was loose, and tightened it , he explained that the piece that was dripping can get loose and it was an easy fix. Since he was there I asked him about the house water regulator, he used his gauge to determined the pressure. He said yeah your pressure is a lil high but I can fix it. With a tool he turned a knob on the side of the regulator to release the pressure. So all was taken care of by the other guys and I saved $2600.

Had an emergency leak to my main water line on a Saturday. Tried my luck and Called Castillo works plumbing and to my luck they answered my call. They quickly dispatched someone to my home in a manner of minutes to check on the problem.
From there it was history, came in fixed my main line and we had water again in a couple of minutes. Very professional, prompt and knowledgeable.
This happened in Jan 2020 and til this day no issues. I felt comfortable to write a review after the service to date to ensure that the job was properly done, which it was.

I had to get my leaky only 7 year old gas water heater replaced. Out of the blue I called Castillo Works and Art answered. Art and I talked a bit about what I wanted, his recommendation for a water heater at Lowes or Home Depot, pricing and scheduling. Conversing with Art gave me a good feeling so I said I will go buy a water heater now and call him back to schedule. As soon as I came back from Lowes, I called Art to schedule. I text him my address and he text me right back and said his plumber technician Greg will be coming. I contacted Greg and he arrived at about 1315. Greg was no less than outstanding. Courteous, interesting gentleman, super competent and skill. He obviously have changed out many many water heaters. He answered all my questions and concerns to the fullest. Contacted Castillo team on Sunday the day before Memorial Day and received a very good priced quote which was scheduled for Tuesday. Other plumbing companies wanted double the price for this small job (approximately 15 feet of new copper run for hot water line exposed run) Brian from Castillo's team showed up on time and did a fantastic job. A new water line was installed from my water heater to laundry box met my expectations. Thanks again Castillo team for your prompt response.
I called around 8 am for a simple plumbing issue (noisy pipes) and asked about their availability. Surprisingly, they said they could be at my house by 9am. I decided to replace my 10 year old water heater since it was probably best to get it replaced before it brokedown. Ely and Art were professional, knowledgeable and competitively priced. Ely is the best! We found his business when the main pipe in our yard broke (ruining the front yard). He came out right away and did such a good job that we used his business again when we decided to install a whole-house filter and a reverse osmosis filter under our sink.
With our next project (air duct cleaning), he'll be getting a call from us soon!
My household hired Mr. Castillo and his team on three separate occasions, for three separate repairs.
The first time was for a leaking pipe in my ceiling. Mr. Castillo arrived, explained the entire repair/replacement process, and was in and out within the day. The same goes for the following day when his team member replaced the segment of the ceiling that had to cut out.
The second occasion was when our (old) garbage disposal started leaking. Mr. Castillo arrived within the hour, with a replacement unit, and finished the job without any issues!
The third occasion was when our kitchen sink started leaking. Mr. Castillo's employee determined the sealing between the under-mounted sink and the counter had to be refinished. He even opted to install our new kitchen faucet and drinking water faucet.
For each job, Mr. Castillo and his team members were prompt, extremely competent, and very accomodating to our needs. His pricing is fair and was agreed upon. HIS TEAM'S SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. I would absolutely recommend Mr. Castillo and his company to anyone in San Diego who needs plumbing related services.

Discovering your water heater having water leaking water early in the morning is not a way to start your day.
I talked to Ely over the phone and he was very knowledgeable and he was available immediately.
When I met with Ely he didn't try to sell a more expensive water heater or even a tankless system. We talked a lot about the pros and cons of a tankless system and eventually I went with a traditional water heater.
Great service, very patient in explaining everything to me.

Woke up one morning to find our garage partially flooded from a water heater burst. Called Ely and they showed Up about 30 minutes later. Assessed the problem, gave me an instant quote which I was satisfied with. After agreement they gave me a few instructions on items I needed to move away from the area to allow them to work, which I did. They went right to work gutting the wall and removing the broken heater. They had to tent off the area and brought in some fans to dry all the wet walls. After about 5 days of drying, Alex returned and installed the new heater, patched up the walls very nicely, and even redid some bad piping. Once finished Alex let me know they would write up the bill and email me.
Ely and Alex we're both awesome and understood exactly what needed to be done. The price was reasonable and the service was great. Excellent work. I will definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.
Ely came and fixed our leaky water heater on a very short notice and did a great job for a very reasonable price. He also discovered that we had a problem with our water pressure regulator and replaced that as soon as he could get the part. So far, we are very happy with his work and would definitely call him again if needed!
Used them to repair our A/C. We had used them years before for our downstairs unit and had a great experience, this time was the opposite. They said they could be there same day so I cancelled another company. They showed up after 5 just to say they would have to come back the next day. Next day showed up 2 hours after agreed time, fixed a leak, by the next morning wasn't working again. Each time they came, they showed up hours later than they had said. Ended up getting what I thought was a new unit which turns out to only be part of a unit. Felt very misled about that. Very nice people but was a bit frustrated

We called several well known plumbing services you see advertised and only Castillo Works Plumbing was going to do all the work themselves without the need for extra contractors. We wanted to install a tankless gas water heater on the outside of our house and a new dryer that needed a non-existing gas line along with external venting in our garage. Unreliable. Technicians were clueless about AC unit. They did not know what to do or how to troubleshoot it. They did not even have a multi-meter to test the capacitor. First day, they showed up at 7:30pm after saying they would be around at 3:30pm. Second day, they didn't even show. Third day, they continued to do nothing and left saying they would be back in a few hours and didn't even show back up. Worst customer service, unreliable, and clueless. Call anyone else, but them for your AC service/repair.

Our bathtub was draining slowly for a couple of weeks now and I finally couldn't take it anymore. Who do I call? Castillo Works Plumbing, of course! Ely and team were amazing. We have gone with them on a couple of other projects and plumbing situations before and they have always been accommodating, professional and reasonable. Most recently with our rental which was a HUGE undertaking.
My tenants mentioned they were courteous, prompt and efficient. That was a huge relief considering that we had a few other bad experiences with other companies. I am so glad we have a go to plumbing company we can trust. You will not regret hiring them. They show great pride in their work and reputation. CASTILLO WORKS WILL GROSSLY OVERCHARGE WITHOUT FIXING THE PROBLEM. I have a 14 month old air conditioning unit from A Shea homes new build in the Village of Escaya, that was only used during the summer of 2018. I turned on my unit in June and noticed that it was not cooling. I called SHEAHOMES and they refused responsibility since it was past the 12 month period. On 7/24/19, I called CastilloWorks who came over the same day and within 10 minutes Ely told me there was no freon in the system and that most likely there was a leak. Ely then stated that he would have to come by the following day because he didn't have the dye, which was necessary to find the leak. Ely stated that it would be a $65 charge for the 1st visit. Ely returned on 7/25 and put the dye into the system.
On 7/30/19 a different person from CastilloWorks came by to check for signs of leaks now that the dye had went through the system. After his inspection I was informed that there were no leaks from the evaporator in the attic nor the condensor outside. CastilloWorks had determined that a leak was in the lineset (within the wall) and without confirming that their was an actual leak in the lineset of the wall, they charged me $550.
I asked Ely if he would complete the leak detection and make the repair. He responded that he would send me an estimate for repairing the possible leak in the lineset however after five days I have not heard or received anything regarding making the repair.
On 8/11/19, I was able to get a second opinion from a different air conditioner company. After checking the line at the condensor and evaporator in the attic, the leak was found in the coil at the evaporator in the attic.
I contacted Ely and informed him the the leak was found in the coil in the attic and asked why they failed to check it and he has yet to respond. CastilloWorks has proven to be inexperienced and not knowledgeable when it comes to troubleshooting for potential leaks. Do not use CastilloWorks!
A sink at our tenants got disconnected underneath from a horrible job that a former and apparently unqualified plumber did.
Castillo Works was great. Got back to me quickly and communicated well. Got to the job early, had all the parts they needed on hand, and completed the job quickly. This time I got to check the work and they did a very professional job!

Excellent service received when I had a water heater issue and needed to have it replaced asap since I had to be out of town the following day. Castillo plumbing arrived in the time that was given and did a very clean job on the water heater replacement. Will definitely use them again for future repair issues.
Out bathtub and sink were clogged, one company had come in and gave us a $3200 quote because according to them it wasn't a clogged but something else was wrong with the plumbing. Castillo Works Plumping came in and within 30 minutes both were working properly and the service charge was minimum.

Called Ely again for a broken main shutoff valve. It was not an emergency but they came in first thing in the morning. Before noon time, they changed the valve and regulator. He also showed me what to watch out for in the house we just moved in to. Service is outstanding and price is competitive. Definitely recommend Ely and his team.

One afternoon, our original water heater had leaked all over the garage. It was finally due for replacement after 15-16 years of usage. As particular as I am when looking to hire a professional, I can honestly say that Castillo Works Plumbing was the only company that I needed to contact.
That same evening, I submitted a quote and received an immediate response from Ely. Correspondence mainly consisted of additional information, specifications, and pictures. Despite the short notice, I was able to schedule an appointment for the following afternoon.
Ely was punctual and receptive to all questions and concerns. With the options explained, I opted for the additional accessories to be up to code. The installation was completed within hours and sooner than expected. He even had time to take a gander at our A/C unit!

Same day service!!! I used Ely Castillo Works Plumbing last year for my air conditioner and had fast, easy service. This past Friday night my air conditioner stopped blowing cold air. I called Castillo plumbing at 8:00 monday morning about a toilet issue. I had broke something in my fathers toilet tank while installing a self cleaning toilet seat. I Spoke with Art, who was Amazing. Showed up same day before noon, fixed my toilet with in 30 minutes and only charged me the $60.00 service charge. I have saved his contact information for all my plumbing needs. I will use Castillo plumbing again. Make sure you ask for Art. He was amazing, very courteous and always wore his mask.

After purchasing a new home and replacing the toilets - the primary toilet was giving us problems and would not flush properly. I contacted Castillo Plumbing and they came out that night, plunged and cleared the line. Unfortunately, the clog came back and without hesitation Greg and Art came back! Again same day service! I've been using Castillo Works for years. Everything from a small leak in my home to a complete underground plumbing redo in a condominium complex. Always very responsive and super knowledgeable and honest.
We had a broken faucet in the bathroom and called CastilloWorks two days ago. Not only they came within hours after we called them, they fixed it quickly. It works beautifully now, and we're very happy with the result.

Art went through the extra mile making sure the water heather installation passes the city inspection providing all the requirements.
I can't say enough positives about Ely and this company. We called him for a home inspection we needed done and he was able to schedule us in immediately. We had a home inspection by him for heating and air and he was so SO incredibly thorough. We had two other inspectors come in an hour later than Ely for electric and roof and to give you a picture of how thorough he is, Ely was still inspecting after they both left. He is so passionate about the work he does as you can tell when he talks to you. You can also tell he holds his work to a very high standard, which is important because you want to feel 100% confident about who you hire and you get that with Ely.
What I value most about him is his transparency and his honesty. He is a wealth of knowledge and is willing to share it with you. We learned so much from him and we can't recommend him enough. We will be using Ely for all our needs and inspections in the future.

Ely and his team has helped me through a couple water heater issues in my home. My first encounter with them was 5 years ago when I needed to have my home's original water heater replaced. They were able to take care of that in no time.
Fast-forward 5 years and I discover that my water heater tank had burst due to a faulty water pressure regulator. Ely was able to act quickly and get my water heater replaced under warranty. He also replaced my water pressure regulator with a new unit the same day. Then he began working on completing the work to rebuild the walls in my home surrounding the water heater. All this while working within my home insurance budget and within the timeframe I had requested.
I am very happy with the work that's been done and the service I received. I will be hiring Castillo Works Plumbing for future jobs.
The pilot light in our water heater went out this morning and would not turn back on. Made a few phone calls around but no one would make it the same day to fix it. Searched on Yelp and found Castillo Works Plumbing and saw all the 5 star reviews. I gave him a call, told him about the problem, and he was able to come the same day. He showed up on time and came wearing a mask and gloves. He was very quick to diagnose and fix the problem and didn't give us any run arounds. My wife and I have hired Castillo Works now 4 times. And now anytime I need plumbing, electric and other handyman work I don't want to call anybody else.
They are punctual, reliable and do the job right.
You may say that's not a big deal well for me it is because so many contractors are very disrespectful of people's time.
Castillo works also are very responsive.
You would not regret hiring them!
I am seriously blown away at the amazing service we received today. I had an unexpected, sudden situation with our garbage disposal on a Saturday evening and Art was able to show up on incredibly short notice and made the repair an absolute breeze. He even kindly waited while we ran to Home Depot for a part so we could do the repair less expensively (his suggestion! So grateful for that!!) He completed the repair quickly and efficiently and even showed us how to avoid running into the same problem in the future. I will certainly be recommending this company!
My water heater went out Tuesday night. Found Castillo works plumbing on yelp,read some of his excellent reviews. Then decided to send a message to see about a quote. He responded within minutes asking me to send pictures of my water heater to his cell and gave me a quote over the phone. He was out to my home early the next morning replacing my water heater without any troubles. I have already recommended him to a friend, who's water heater coincidentally broke down today. I have also heard on the Nextdoor app that he has done amazing work for some neighbors in the area.

Knowledgeable. Sincere. Upfront. Honest. Responsive. Dealing with Ely was like working with family, it doesn't get any better than knowing you're being taken care of by someone you can trust.
Had issues with our 13 year old water heater. The pilot light was no longer staying on. While other companies would have quickly quoted an entire replacement of 1300.00+, Ely immediately recognized the issue as a simple burner replacement, which is 1/5 of what it would have cost to replace a tank that still has some use in it.
Ely was quick to respond. He was available on a Sunday. He arrived when he said he would. He came prepared with all tools and materials. He was quick and informative about everything he was doing and very professional.

I am so impressed with Alex and his company. First something is to be said about a 5-star Yelpeview. To begin, Alex provides his cell phone-- immediate contact :)). Never have I trusted a plumber to do a correct if not stellar and honest work and I've worked with many plumbers in LA, La Jolla and Pacific Beach for over 10 years. On top of that, I am working out of town and trusted Alex to resolve plumbing issues in our rentals in San Diego without my being present. And yet again on top of that, he proposes fixes that are not bandaids to an issue. I always have a choice of fixes Alex proposes. I am beyond pleased that his troubleshooting skills are holistic. Alex has come through for me in the over two years I have asked him to help. He is the only plumber I trust in San Diego. I hope he can be cloned so that I can ask for his assistance in Los Angeles.

We have mixed feelings about this business. Ely is obviously competent and knowledgeable, but the same cannot be said for some of the people he sends out without supervision.
If you have an emergency such as a leak or an issue with a hot water heater, this is probably a good company to call - especially if Ely comes out himself.
He bid on 3 jobs for us. We did not accept the first bid but - because we had faith in Ely - we had him bid on another two jobs that we went ahead with. Ely worked alongside his team on the first job, and it went extremely well. However, despite our contractor going over with Ely the details of plumbing work needed in our bathroom, the guys who came to do the work made a lot of mistakes that a qualified plumber would not have made. This led to work having to be redone, which caused delays.
To sum it up: I dislike posting less than stellar reviews, but I am doing it now so that other people can make more informed decisions when they hire a job to done by Castillo Works Plumbing. Based on our experiences, if Ely supervises a job it will be done well, but some of his workers are not competent to do anything other than very basic plumbing work.

My first encounter with Ely was with my AC unit back in June '19. It was no longer giving out cold air to my house. He was able to repair it for a decent price and was practically done in a day (started in the late afternoon one day and finished the next day in the morning...So I'll consider it one day). He gave me the option of replacing the parts to last me another year or two, or change the entire unit, which was not in our budget at the moment. I opted for just replacing the parts (so I can eventually save if needed), and he said that if we do end up changing the entire unit (external and internal units), he would credit me the price of the repairs that he did. That made me feel at ease, especially knowing that replacing an entire unit costs a lot.
He's very knowledgeable, friendly, and I feel like he doesn't rip off his costumers. He's detailed with the work he does and is honest.
I called him last week because my water heater recently busted, flooded my garage, and ruined the drywall foundation where the water heater sat on. I called Ely's company again to fix it ASAP. He was able to come and replace my new water heater, removed damaged drywall, and aired out the foundation. No moisture was found on the foundation (thank goodness). He added an expansion tank, drip pan, and discovered that the pressure regulator was the culprit of the damage. So he was able to replace that as well. His workers are also very friendly and nice, and their work seems reliable. I would totally recommend him to others. Thank you Ely.
Ely came earlier than expected which was good. He diagnosed the issue and recommended that we make repair to prevent future issues. He completed the job in a timely fashion. I highly recommend him for your HVAC issues.

Even one star is too many stars, should be an option for zero. Checked out the website link from this yelp page and it went to some kind of anime site. Since they had so many 5 stars review, I decided to overlook that as a mistake. Called the number listed and spoke with Art yesterday. He scheduled me for 10 AM today and asked me to text my info to a different cell number than the one listed here. Well, 10 AM comes and goes and no one shows up, no confirmation text yesterday, no update on when they might arrive today. Called the phone number listed here to inquire. The person says Hello and I ask is this Castillo works? He then replies F--- you and f--- your mom. Well isn't that a nice how do you do? I then called the number I was asked to text my information to and today that is Brian, not Art. He has no idea about my appointment and has no explanation for any of this. I asked him to have the owner call me and have not received a call. Save yourself the time and look elsewhere. I don't know how this place has all the 5 star reviews, let alone how they can even run a business. I called Eastlake Plumbing instead and they are sending someone out in 30 minutes.

Our hot water heater started leaking on a Saturday afternoon. Castillo plumbing answered my call right away and they had a new water heater available. They were also willing to install the new water heater on the weekend with no surcharge. Their plumbers were courteous, showed up when they said, wearing masks, and worked efficiently to get the job done. I also called them to replace a faulty hose bibb outside. Would recommend.
The servicemen who came to repair my bf's condo were very informative and pleasant. They actually know what exactly what was wrong, instead of bullsh*tting us like he first consultation we had with another business. Repairs were done in a timely manner and the cost was accurate and not too high. Only minor problem we had was the repairman kept rescheduling with blame it on the rain. otherwise I Highly recommend these guys for your plumbing needs!

Skill and craftiness when faced with a dilemma of installing a bigger water heater in a tight and smaller place. Instead of giving up and saying it's not going to work, he used his resourcefulness and know how in making revisions to the piping locations and even made it better installed than the original setup that was installed by the contractor when the chapel was constructed! So happy and contented with the way Castillo Works and Plumbing treat their customers and the excellent result of their works! Cannot say anything more for they complete what is lacking in this write up.
Ely saved the day by showing up same day, with all proper PPE, and fixed my gas line issue. He was professional, communicated my options and was completely transparent with all of his work. He went out of his way to professionally fix the issue while saving my kitchen cabinets which were blocking the area that needed repair. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. Back in December 2016, when my baby was barely 2 months old, I decided I wanted to take a bath with him, but our tub faucet decided to break and the water wouldn't stop. I freaked out, panicked, especially being postpartum and suffering with anxiety. Castillo was great when they came out and we got two options: pay just to have the plumbing capped so we could turn the water back on or a higher price so they would come back in the future to also re-install a new faucet, we picked to pay higher so we could have them come out in the future. Job was done well and very quick. Our faucet was ridiculous, it is a single handle/hole Roman tub faucet and the tech that came also said they weren't comfortable with drilling another hole since the tub was fiberglass (I was already trying to research to find a faucet and it seemed the type was nonexistent). Yes, weeks turned into months and now 4 years later after many searches, the company that sold the previous faucet finally came out with a replacement. Here I am so damn happy and have my partner contact Castillo and now, we're being told we're ridiculous and they would never honor it because it's been so many years. The new quote they gave at first was $350, which would mean we will pay 800, then after some back and forth, it was $250. Then more back and forth and other excuses like it would be out of warranty, so basically telling us we should be grateful. But I am not complaining about anything being wrong or needing a replacement to utilize the warranty of their work, only to finish the job they started and I am sorry as a customer that it did take this long, but the product was nonexistent and we were told by Castillo not to drill a hole so we were stuck and honestly thought for awhile there wasn't going anything that could ever be done unless we remodeled the whole tub area. The final option now is they'll honor the price of $100 if we have all the parts so the job is easy and quick for them, which we're not plumbers so I have no idea, but also for us to show them a certificate to show our place was cleaned/sanitized because of COVID or wait until COVID is over before they come in. COVID is real and I completely believe it's real and would never want to endanger anyone's life, but are they asking this of all their customers? And to wait for COVID to be over? I work in the healthcare field and COVID will not be over for many months still so that brings back the point about it being many years, which would seem it doesn't actually matter to Castillo then. I also don't understand why the response we get back also is that it's been over 5 years when it hasn't. It just f-ing sucks cause I hate writing negative reviews, but I was excited and thought this was finally going to happen then being treated like crap as a customer, as though I'm lying or to swindle me to get more money, that just sucks. Make sure to never just go with a verbal agreement, it's a lesson learned and I know I should know better cause now my only option is to be a sucker or go to small claims court or something so clearly I'm a sucker cause it's not even worth it. Icing on the cake, they're saying we're harassing him as a customer and threatened to post a reply to this review with screenshots of our text messages, but my partner and I could also do that, but it's not worth it. I just feel dumb being excited, thinking finally after all these when there's finally the type of faucet we need that isn't something we have to custom order and pay $1000 or more (since at that price we might as well never have a working tub or save our pennies to hopefully one day be able to remodel in many more years), that I was finally going to have a working tub to bathe my babies in. Oh, I also didn't appreciate some texts he sent insinuating we wouldn't follow COVID rules or something like we wouldn't wear masks or that we're so rich or something because his response is he/his employees needing to leave jobs where people didn't follow rules and that he's not rich, well guess what, I'm not either and I would never not follow COVID rules, it saddens me they have to deal with customers like that. I don't think there's anything that can really rectify this now and I'm sure the owner will reply, maybe with screenshots of our texts or blame me for waiting this long, all of this just sucks.
After a quick search through Yelp this morning, I found Castillo Works Plumbing and contacted them in an effort to resolve my water heater issue as I found out the night before, I wasn't getting any hot water. I've had this issue before a few years back with the burner going out, however it was easily resolved with a few resets that time. This time around was different. When troubleshooting and doing multiple resets with a result of 7 flashing lights each time, the water heater detected a faulty valve which I knew wasn't something I could easily fix on my own; therefore professional assistance was definitely needed to get the job done accordingly.
Thanks to Ely, he gave his recommendations over the phone after explaining to him the issue. In addition, it didn't take him very long to get to my house after contacting him for assistance. Upon meeting, Ely was very approachable, communicative, friendly and knowledgeable. He did a thorough assessment and diagnosis of a faulty valve board and burner which he removed and replaced. The job was done within the same amount of time it took him to get to my house (20-30 mins) and just like that, I was getting hot water again, but with the quickness! It used to take a few seconds longer to get hot water, but this time around, on a low setting, hot water pours out instantly. Along with the service for the water heater is a 1 year warranty.
Overall, I was satisfied with Ely's service and happy to have my hot water running again. Thanks Ely! Yay, no more cold showers! Haha... Gotta love homeowner responsibilities, lol.
Updating and adding more kudos to this excellent company for their quality of work and for their customer service as well. They recently came to our place (again) but this time for water heater. They promptly showed up within the hour of our call on a cold Sunday morning. And may I say, for a weekend call, their rate is very reasonable. Art and Ely quickly went to work on getting us a replacement.
The quoted amount for the tank, parts and labor were much less than we even imagined, and before the end of the following day, we had hot water and also our heater back on.

Our water heater broke, and they were able to offer same-day service. They were able to work in the garage without me worrying that I needed to be at home because it was a work day. I only needed to open up the garage for them. They brought a replacement heater, and they did a nice job drying everything out. They also helped to fix our faucet in the front yard. Very professional and courteous service; reasonable prices; good communication too. I will call Castillo Works for all of my plumbing needs in the future.
Super professional, polite, knowledgeable, and punctual. Art fixed the issue quick, and took the job minutes after calling without hesitation. I highly recommend these guys. Last Thursday morning around 6 a.m., I found out that our hot water is not working. I texted Ely around 7 a.m. and asked if he can send someone to check our water heater. After an hour he sent Art to our place. Our water heater is 11 years old and the warranty expired already. Ely called the manufacturer and inquired if they were able to get the parts but since we are out of warranty, the parts needed to fix the issue is no longer supported by the manufacturer. Since the parts and labor will equate to be the same as a new power vent water heater, Ely recommended to just replace the whole unit. That same day we got our water heater replaced. I admire the company's dependability and honesty. My parents had a problem with a leaky faucet and a drain that wasn't draining in their kitchen. I let Castillo Works Plumbing know of the situation and they were on it! They replaced some piping in my own house and I was satisfied enough to have them work on my parent's home. It also helps that they (the particular staff that came over) were also bilingual (Tagalog) so that made my parents that more comfortable to have people in their home they can understand.

I had a water heater issue pop up last night. I called Castillo this morning at 8:00 AM and they had Art out to my house at 9:00 AM. He quickly figured out what was wrong, helped me coordinate the warranty covering the new water heater and install, so now I have a new water heater same day covered by the warranty. Very thankful for Art and Castillo. Would strongly recommend Castillo to anyone.

Called around and Castillo price for a new water heater was much less than some quoted and/or was not more than others offering less immediate service. He came and did the job that afternoon saving me from having to apologize to my tenants for a long weekend without hot water. They were good sports but luckily they did not have to face cold showers.

Ely came out as scheduled troubleshooted the issue gave me a fair price for the repair. Went up and down my stairs and into my attic where the repair on a faulty sensor was done he cleaned out my drain line and poof my AC is back to running like new. Had an issue where my A/C wouldn't blow and was tired of producing copious amounts of sweat inside my home despite having more fans than the Chargers have now (exactly 3). I learned that magically wishing your A/C would just start working again... doesn't work.

Another company recommended my mother replace her insulation in the attic at a cost of thousands of dollars. We had our doubts about the recommendation, so we called Castillo Works for a second opinion. Ely came to the house and explained all the ways to make heating the house more efficient. He reviewed diagnostic tests to evaluate if it was the duct system versus the insulation. He also recommended what he would do in my mother's situation. He was very honest and spent over an hour talking with me. When we were done, I asked him what we owed him and he said nothing! All this information, his time and a recommendation without a fee. If anyone in business wants to know how to gain a customer for life, just follow Ely's example.

Our downstairs unit stopped working, it being about 15 years old. I looked on yelp and contacted 5 companies that I thought would be good based on their reviews.
Only Castillo Works Plumbing responded same day. One other responded 1 day later and the three others not at all.
We set up a time a couple of days later for the diagnostic and I was pleasantly relieved at their friendliness and professionalism.
Ely and Frank came out, diagnosed the issue and repaired it in about an hour.

They saw my pics of the plumbing problem. They gave me a reasonable repair cost estimate at par with that of other companies--higher than the low bidders, but lower than the high bidders. And they came sooner than the other plumber and fixed it. And then they billed me lower than their original quote. How could I not be happy? Of course I was!
So I gave them another job on the spot, albeit a simpler fix, and they took care of that, too, and all within budget.

I have used Castillo plumbing on 3 separate occasions, twice to replace some toilets throughout my house and again during an emergency when I had a water heater leak on me and they were able to come right away and help me same day without charging me extra. I called him at 7am as my parent woke up with flood all over the house due to the water heater has leaked. He asked for necessary pictures to identify the problem. Our downstairs toilet flooded from a 3rd party who punctured our sewer line. Because of the major damage done, a number of Castillo workers came over and each did their part, all of whom were very friendly! Their job was done in a timely manner and if there were a few delays, they made sure to update me whether it was via call or text. They were also informative, making sure I knew exactly what was going on and what needed to be done. Their prices too were really reasonable!! Although the 3rd party paid for their screw up, I was surprised at their quotes! Castillo Works will definitely be my family's go to for many things they are capable of fixings!

Over the weekend both my kitchen sink and bathroom sink began to back up with brown water (gross) and of the 3 companies I called Castillo Works Plumbing was the only one that called back. They promptly dispatched Art and within minutes he showed up to my house. What we thought would be a quick fix, turned out to be a two day job. Throughout the whole process Art and his team were on-time, efficient and professional. If I ever need any plumbing services in the future, Castillo Works Plumbing is who I'll be calling.
Castillo Works Plumbing has done extensive electrical work, multiple plumbing installations, and general building projects in my house. Always providing a professional and friendly service. They always take the time to explain the work and to suggest ideas for safety and security improvements. They have always done the best they can to accommodate my schedule. They are respectful and clean the area after completing the job. And now, during the pandemic, they always wear masks and keep their distance while in the house.

10:44 AM: Ely the owner texted. I think he actually tried to call a couple of times, but I missed it.
Ely obviously cares about what happens and had I not been able to find someone else to come out to fix the problem, his calm demeanor and desire to help would have been something that persuaded me to give them another chance.
Maybe the I'm not supposed to be working today guy was already checked out mentally because... heck, he wasn't supposed to be working today.
Either way, I'd say if you decide to use Castillo and you experience something like I did, then get Ely on the phone. Based on his texts, I think he would do whatever he can to get you taken care of.

What a terrible experience.
I RELY on Yelp a lot for recommendations from my fellow San Diegans and with perfect 5 star reviews, you'd think you found the winner, right?
Nope.
We scheduled with this company on Thursday to come out on Saturday. On Friday I called to confirm and ask about pricing, as my 21 year old son actually called to set the appointment.
They gave me pricing, I was happy with their quote. Everything so far was going great.
About an hour after my confirmation call, they called my son and changed the time in which they could come, from 12-4, to 10:00 am.
Okay, not a big deal.
At 9:49 the doorbell rang. Caleb opened the door. The first thing the man said to my son was, I'm not supposed to be working today.
He had Caleb turn the water in the shower. Looked into the hole in our ceiling, which had been cut out previously when I had noticed a circular water stain had appeared.
Came upstairs, turned the water from the shower spout to the bathtub only, stayed in there for about 1 minute, went back downstairs and told Caleb that he thinks it's something behind something, told him again he's not supposed to be working and asked how Monday would work, then left.
WTH?
I have a hole in my downstairs ceiling that is leaking when the shower is being used upstairs. We made an appointment to get it fixed. I didn't make an appointment to have someone come to our house, tell us he's not supposed to be working, TWICE, then leave all within 5 minutes.
I know it was 5 minutes because I called Castillo's phone at 9:56 am to ask WTH.
I'd say use them at your own risk, could be that you are relying on them to fix something, you get up early on your day off, to be told that they aren't supposed to be working and leave you hanging.
Fortunately I was able to call another company. They'll be here in an hour to FIX the problem.

I didn't make a mistake when I decided to call Castillo Works for a leak we had at our home. Ely was not able to speak on the phone when I called but he promptly texted me back and kindly asked me to give my contact information and describe our plumbing issue. He immediately called me and I further described our issue. I asked if he could come in the afternoon to check our leak and he told me to give him a time. I contacted Ely from work and by the time I got home, he and his coworker had already made their assessment of our problem leak. My parents remarked how polite and honest they were and even waived the service fee. I know I can always count on Ely and his team if we have any more issues in the future.
Best of the best. If you found Castillo, you need look no further.
Our Air Conditioning broke down, and I called them at noon. At 1:30 he was at our home, diagnosed, fixed, and done in no time at. I wasn't home, but he kept me in the loop by text messages.
Price was very fair and reasonable. Great guys. They do many things, so next time anything goes wrong, they are my first phone call.

Castillo Works Plumbing definitely lived up to their five star reviews. I tried fixing a bad drain clog myself the night prior. Was at a loss without the right tools on hand. Called them the next morning at 7, they were at my house by 9:30 and had everything unclogged and running smoothly in an hour. Very grateful for the awesome customer service and help. Very reasonably priced considering the nightmare stories some people tell. Will be a repeat customer.. hopefully in the not so near future :).

I had a water leak under my kitchen sink. After another highly reviewed plumbing company could not locate the leak, I decided to call Castillo Works Plumbing.
Ely came to the house to do the repairs. He is very professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. Ely really goes into detail with explaining the issues and his recommendations to repair them.
Castillo Works Plumbing also provides an electronic invoice which includes before-and-after photos of the work, which is really great for record keeping.
If I ever need a plumber in the future, I will contact Ely and Castillo Works Plumbing.

Early Saturday morning my water heater sprung a leak from the water fitting that had corroded. I called Ely who I found on Yelp. Ely immediately sent one of his plumber to assess the situation in a timely manner. He explained the severity of the situation due to the valve that had to be replaced which was in a tight spot. There was a possibility the water heater would have to be removed to in order to replace the valve correctly.
Ely returned with the new valve and fittings and was able to complete the job in a timely manner without removing the water heater saving me a lot of money in labor cost.
I would definitely recommend Castillio Works Plumbing and would definitely call them again for my plumbing needs.

We have used Castillos three times now. Twice for a toilet/plumbing/water pressure regulator issue with Jose, and another (most recent) for an hvac issue with Ely.
Each time they have been on point with their work and professionalism, not to mention - extremely fast response time and turn around time as well!

First off let me preface this by saying I've usually gone with Eastlake plumbing for all my plumbing needs but they quoted me $250 for a faucet install which I thought was a little high so I shopped around. Called Castillo works and asked for a quote. Spoke to Ely who quoted me $175. Fine. Then I asked if I could use the 15% yelp check in coupon that they offer for new customers. He said only if i spend over $500. It does not say that anywhere on the offer but he said he would check with his boss??? Looking at the Yelp site it says that Ely is the business owner who i would assume is the boss???. Ok fine I was ok with the $175 without the coupon. Then I get a text that says they might need to change the angle stops for $130 each. So I responded that the angle stops were new and wouldn't need to be replaced. He said fine as long as they work. The last straw was when he asked me to provide the supply hoses and caulking. My faucet already came with supply hoses so no problem but caulking???? Really?? I've never had a plumber try to nickel and dime so much as this one. Suggestion - If you give a quote maybe start with a quote with everything included so you don't set the expectation with the customer that they are getting an awesome price when they really aren't. Also fix your coupon so it says something like must spend $500
Had a hot water pressure issue after I drained flushed and refilled the tank yesterday. And of course I have family flying in tomorrow. So there was too much sediment and all I did was stir it up and clog the tank outlet pipe along with some of my internal piping. CWP was quick to answer the phone and installed the new tank I about 2 hours. Awesome! Changed all the faucet aerators as well. Six month drain flush and fill will now be on all calendars. My model was around 10 years old. Castillo and I also discussed tankless water heating. Seems like a tough decision but he was really informative. When in need reach out to Castillo Works.
We had an issue with the shower going hot to cold water within a couple of minutes. Our water heater was fine and all the faucets in the house still had hot water. We called Ely who asked us to send him a picture of the shower that was having a problem. He came out the same day. We were hoping it would only be a cartridge in the shower that needed to be replaced. Unfortunately for us it turns out that our whole shower valve needed to be replaced. Ely came out and fixed our issue. Now our guests can enjoy their shower with hot water. Thanks Ely for your quick response and great plumbing service!
I called about 6 plumbers because I needed a gas control value installed in a hot water heater as soon as possible. Castillo was the only plumbing company that could be there same day. Ely sent the estimate via text, and was on site within a few hours. The work was detailed with clear explanations and images. For me, these guys were straight forward, no ambiguity on price, good communication and good work. I will definitely use them again.

Our very old water heater was leaking & Castillo came out after-hours to replace it. This was several months ago now. They did great work and we haven't had any issues with the water heater.
I tried using their services again for our bathroom (issues with our sink & faucet leaking). They responded promptly and I got a call from a technician. He said he would be in my area in the afternoon. He wasn't sure how long his other job would take, so he'd keep in touch. He said he might also come out the next day if he ran out of time. I made sure to be home all afternoon and I never heard back from the company, not on the next day ether. 5 stars for the water heater installation, zero stars for the 2nd experience = 3 stars.

ELY SAVED MY LIFE (and my plumbing) AGAIN!
I noticed my water pressure regulator was leaking from the adjustment side when I took my dogs out this morning. Texted Ely on my way out the door to work and he said he would take a look at it in the afternoon. I texted him around 4PM saying I was going to be late coming home but he had already stopped by and fixed the problem. He sent me pictures to follow up.

I had previously had these guys repair a busted water line in my front yard with great results so when my air conditioner busted and their name popped up I was like Hmmmmm, plumbers fix AC?
At first I was skeptical but their price was better than pretty much anyone else and I really liked my experience with them the first time around so I gave it a shot. Only gripe initially was that I was told I could pay with a credit card and then couldn't but, Ely fixed that by offering to install a new thermostat for free.
Then life got in the way and I forgot about getting that done. A few months passed, and suddenly my AC and heat didn't work. So I called them up, they came out again. Not only did they install the new thermostat for free, months after initially offering it. But they repaired the igniter to make everything work again for free as well.
So basically, these guys don't really seem to be happy unless you're happy. Which is kind of like the very best service you can ever hope for whenever you hire anyone for anything.
Would recommend them 100 out of 100 times. They're the best.

Art from Castillo works plumbing was amazing. He came in and didn't a great job fixing my tankless water heater. He really did amazing work with a lot of attention to detail. He even improved all of the gas connections and made it look much better. I'm now back to having great hot water.
Had a pipe leak under my kitchen sink and texted Ely to ask about it. He replied within 2 hours and answered my various questions. Scheduled for Alex to come over a week later (it wasn't an emergency so no big deal) and he did a fine job replacing the pipes. We also wanted to install a temperature safety valve for our baby room shower, and it turns out we already had such a valve so Alex just adjusted it to a safe level.
Castillo is not the cheapest plumber but I trust their prompt professional service, and their work is good. I am very happy to pay for this level of competence and honesty (Alex could have just installed a new one without telling us we had one already). Will count on them again in the future!

I'm reviewing on behalf of my father Edgar. Our AC stopped working late last year and recently got a taste of summer so after seeing all the great reviews for Castillo Works we decided to give them a call. We got in touch with Ely and were amazed that he was willing to meet the next day on a Saturday.
Bobby came down and was able to diagnose that the compressor went bye bye and we agreed to replace it. He let us know that he needed to find the right part and they would come the next day on a Sunday to install it. Bobby came down Sunday morning and installed the part and charged the system. Bobby knows his stuff.
All in all we are very impressed with the fast turn around and great service! These guys are veteran friendly and gave us a military discount! Will definitely call them again!
My wife saw at 10 in the morning on Saturday that our water heater was leaking. I called Ely and sent him a picture of our water heater. Eli was awesome. We were in escrow and closing in 2 days when our a/c went out. We needed someone right away. He came out immediately when others said they couldn't fit us in for over a week. Repair was prompt and fair. Will definitely use him again.

Ely to save the day! My water heater went out 2 days before New Years Eve. Ely was quick to respond. My water heater was still under warranty and Ely did all the calling and worked on the getting the water heater replaced. Turns out he saved me over 400.00 on replacing my water heater. Ely was very informative, kind, professional and responsive to texts. It was a pleasure doing business with Ely and Castillo Works Plumbing Heating and Air. I keep his card handy and will trust with any future plumbing needs.
We had an issue with our upstairs AC and Ely and his team came over the same day I called and diagnosed what they believed to be the issue. Initially, they believed replacing some parts would fix the issue but, unfortunately for us, the issue was more severe and we had to replace our whole unit. Ely was fair and didn't charge us for previous work done. He gave us a fair price for the unit & installation. Art, our installer, was through, polite and professional. We are extremely happy having cool air again and would highly recommend Castillo Works for your service needs.
I requested a quote and received a reply immediately. The quote seemed fair so I moved forward with scheduling the service. After looking at everything I wanted done (since they were already going to be there I figured I would have everything taken care of) they adjusted the price fairly and I was very happy to have everything completed. I didn't need same day service (nor did I ask for it) but I was happy they fit me in the schedule quickly and came out the next day. Both gentleman were very nice and professional. Okay, I waited until all the work was completely done and time had gone by in case I had to complain....but no complaints here people. Nothing but good words to say about Alex, the man who told us what the problem was and the initial quote. Ortiz was the muscle, a smiling, laughing, gentleman who actually did the work with another gentleman. They came by on a Friday, did the work until it was finished on the following Monday and left both my parents very, very pleased.
It seems that all the cast iron pipes in my parent's 60 yr old house were shot and the toilets were backing up daily. Ortiz crawled under the entire house to inspect the pipes and it was just a fluke that he managed to see all the rust and deterioration that was happening BEFORE the pipes failed completely.
So here's the catch...my dad, the old guy who seldom trusts anyone and is the king of skepticism, liked these two guys from the minute they came in. He liked them so much he didn't even want me to get another estimate. WTF??? I almost passed out when he gave the okay.
All the pipes were replaced with an incredibly strong black plastic piping that Alex told us would last at least a hundred years. Although there may have been someone else out there who could've done it for less, I doubt that they could have done it better.
These guys were legit, honest, friendly and professional. Looking for a plumber is like trying to find a good dentist, you dread doing it but you know you have to. A+++++ process from beginning to end...highly recommend this group of hardworking and ethical gentlemen.
I called Castillo works plumbing on a Monday morning and they came same day a few hours later and fixed three issues for me in less than a half an hour! We had a toilet upstairs that wouldn't stop running and had issues flashing, a master bathroom vanity sink that wasn't draining properly and a kitchen sink that was having issues and because they were all minor issues they didn't even charge us! All they asked for was a good review so here it is...We love Castillo Plumbing!

Service is top notch! Woke up to no hot water. Went to work and contacted Castillo Works Plumbing. He arrived fast and troubleshoot the problem. Hurray, hot water when I got home from work. Highly recommended!
They did a great job fixing the dripping of my shower handle.Great technician! Definitely recommend. Will contact again next time if necessary. I have a great experience. Price is also reasonable and cheaper compared with other services. But service quality is great.
Called these guys because not only do they do plumbing but HVAC work as well. My aunt's house is under contract and they needed some repairs on the said issues and we were tasked to be the foremen since they live out of town. They responded to my request immediately and scheduled to do the plumbing the next day. Ely was out of town so we had to wait a couple of days for the HVAC quote.
The AC/furnace unit wouldn't even turn on and he said it's due to a loose wire (bec I accidentally yanked it out when I changed the batteries) and faulty transformer in the inside unit. However the heater element still didn't work and he said it's probably the reversing valve in the compressor unit that is stuck in the AC mode since the heater has never been used ever since they bought the place (other family members lived in the house). But when they actually looked inside the outside unit, there was actually a missing part that is essential in the cold:warm air exchange. He was willing to credit the payment for the loose wire and transformer so we decided to keep working with him.
My aunt had no choice but to replace the whole thing. Replacement was done in 5 days. However, they have noticed on the end of the last day that the water heater was leaking. It was beyond repair plus it was old already so they had to replaced it as well. The unit is inside the house so they even added a Leak detection device. It kind of turned into a comedy because when they tried to turn on the water heater, the breaker became short that it started smoking. In end, they added more breakers to the panel and separated the large capacity appliances on their own.
Not only did Ely credited the payment for the transformer work, but also gave discount for the misdiagnosis of the reversing valve plus more.
I'm glad we called them; it saved us time looking for different contractors for the different issues that came up unexpectedly. Not only is Ely knowledgeable but he'll actually help you understand how things actually work. Thanks again.
Our AC was not working so I called Eli from Castillo Works Plumbing since I had used them a couple of times before for different jobs. We scheduled an appointment for the next day and Eli promptly showed up. He did the diagnostic and told me that two parts needed to be replaced.
He had the required parts in his vehicle so I did not have to wait for these parts to be ordered. After 30 minutes, my AC is back to working condition.
Hard to find trustworthy and professional business but Castillo Works is definitely a company that I will keep using.
I'm in the process of selling my home and a house inspector did a one for the road inspection before closing the deal and discovered that my tub had low water pressure on a Saturday. This was not good due to needing to close the deal the following Monday! I called Castillo Works Plumbing and talked to Art and he came out on Sunday and replaced the broken cartridge quickly and got the water pressure back to normal again. I am very happy with the work that's been done and the service I received. My realtor wanted their info for situations like mine for her future clients. Thanks Art!

This company is responsive. A pipe in our backyard busted and water was gushing out. A call to Castillo Works was good for a quick fix and reasonable cost for an emergency call. I was real surprised with a $50 ASAP response call and pipe fix.
Ely tried to walk me through my problem on the phone but when realized I was stuck, he sent Alex right away. Alex was very helpful and did some quick quality work. The situation was handled professionally.

I called Castillo Works concerning a toilet problem and they repaired it in a hurry. Eli was capable and quick. When finished, he sent me a text of before and after photos, plus an explanation of costs. I've been a happy customer of theirs for 6 years and highly recommend them.

I called this company on Thursday and they came out on Friday and fixed the problem, completing it the same day. Their quote was $1300 less than my first quote from another plumber for the issue, a tree root into the main sewer line. Alex and Ortiz were extremely friendly. And Eli worked with my payment plan. I am extremely pleased and will definitely use them in the future if I have any other plumbing issues.

I called Castillo works plumbing to help fix a noisy shower pipe. Whenever the shower turns on in a particular bathroom it can be heard in the whole house. I called Castillo out to give it a look/hear and they said it may be the valve. I asked if they replace the valve would the noise go away, the response was maybe... well I gave Ely the benefit of the doubt and had the valve replaced. $700 dollars later the noise was still there. A day later I called back again asking why we still hear the noise. The person on the phone said that Ely was in the Philippines (how convenient) and they would send someone over the next day. They came the next day and said, its because you dont have insulation near the pipes. Well shouldn't they have checked that first? So now I have a new valve that I probably never needed and the noise... I think they are paying a ratings farm in the Philippines to have such high ranking. I only gave 2 stars because they came the next day.
Had a leak coming from my ceiling and needed it to get fixed ASAP. After a quick search through Yelp, I found Castillo Works Plumbing, saw the good reviews and called for a quote. They said they'd have to come in and check out the issue. They came in the same day, within 2 hours or so, checked out the issue and told me what was going on. I was informed about price from the beginning and to call my insurance for coverage. He walked me through the issue, told me what he was going to do, and then went right ahead to fix it.
Turns out we had a leaky pipe and it took about 4 hours to get it fixed. I appreciated how he was nice, straightforward, and got the job done. Since they are only plumbers and do not do dry wall, I still have a hole in my ceiling, but they suggested I ask my insurance for people who can cover it and if not, to message him for references. The service was great and I'd probably go back if I came across another issue.
Art and RV repaired the leak in on of our pipes in our front yard and were very detailed with what they were doing. Art and RV immediately knew where the leak was coming from and came up with a plan and promptly scheduled an appointment for us the next morning. Art kept in touch with us to let us know when he was on his way and when he needed to pick up a new part that was needed for the repair. Art and RV came back with the new piece that was needed to finish the job the following day. They stayed to make sure our water was working in all faucets and showers before they left. We are definitely saving Castillo plumpings number for any plumbing needs we have and we 100% recommend them for any of your plumbing repairs. Thank you Art and RV for all your hard work.

Alex and his team were extremely fast, professional and courteous!
This morning my shower didn't want to turn off so I hopped on yelp in search for plumbers in my area (Eastlake) and came across a lot! Castillo Works plumbing gave me a call right back and was to my house in 30 mins! He took a look at the shower asked a couple questions and was able to determine the issue and provided me with a few options. Alex was very informative and after agreeing to the fix he got started and was done installing a new shower faucet in less than 2 hours!

Very grateful to have Castillo plumbing in Chula Vista! I can always rely on his crew to finish a job. I recently had a pesky lawn/garden regulator that needed to be changed out. They came through and stayed extra without charging more. All his work (shower valve, water regulators, hose bibs and water heater repairs) have been top notch. No pressure and quality work.

Our sink faucet is leaking. We've spoken with Eli. He was so patient in explaining our alternatives. No wonder their business achieved 5 stars rating! We found out that we have a faulty built countertop. We will schedule our faucet replacement once we settled the issue with the builder.
My water heater decided to puke all over my garage floor... Not a great way to start the morning. Soooo... I looked on yelp and saw Castillo Works was highly rated. I called and talked with Ely, he came out promptly and gave me an estimate. I had 2 other estimates and he was definitely the most competitive. After I gave the OK for the work Ely came out and installed our new tankless water heater. The work was completed quickly, and Ely answered any questions I had. After talking with Ely more I found out he used to be an engineer for a semiconductor company. I could tell he was very technical and had strong troubleshooting skills. Great service, great price for our tankless water heater replacement. They communicated during the job about what was happening and what would happen. The work was completed neatly. A near perfect professional. I highly recommend Castillo Works Plumbing.
Castillo saved us twice - first our AC broke down in the middle of the hottest time in summer and of course once it cooled down by the end of November our Heater would not start. Both times they came out quick and found the problem and fixed it in a timely manner.

We woke up to our downstairs bathroom flooring, wood, squishing up water with each step! Terrified of where it was coming from and how far it went in the walls, flooring, ceiling, we called Castillo. The reviews were the deciding factor for us, so I'm leaving our review of our experience.
Jacob, a master at everything, arrived and immediately stopped the pipe that was leaking in the ceiling, and opened all walls to set fans going to stop it from spreading. He and another guy checked it all out, caught some potential leaky spots, and put our bathroom back together seamlessly. He was open with everything he was working on , honest, and very hardworking. He really went out of the way to make it as painless as possible. They guarantee their work and did a fantastic job! I've already been recommending them to anybody looking for a great construction team for any project or repair!

We had a terrible slab leak in our driveway that caused us to shut off our water everyday before we left for work. We found Ely on yelp and he worked with us every step along the way. Ely and his team were always on time and kept us updated with what was going on. It's been over a month since the repairs and everything is running better than ever! I consider them my go-to for any issues I have in the future. Would work with them again 100%
Wow, Ely showed up within an hour at my house, fixed water leak and ordered parts, super efficient, highly recommended, great job!
I came to Yelp about six months ago because I needed to repair a leaking gas shutoff valve to my gas log. It was a very involved repair that stretched over two days, I believe, but Ely stuck at it and ended up charging me pretty much what he said he would charge. Wonderful job, and I now have a gas log that works just fine.
Today he just left after another job, one that took him two-and-a-half days because of some complexities. He removed a standard gas heater tank and replaced it with a tank-less water heater. He also hooked up an utility sink in the garage, which was the primary reason for our wanting the tank-less water heater. This project involved attaching new pipes to very old pipes, which caused some problems. Along with the project itself because it involved quite a bit more than I thought it would when I asked him to do the job.
I should also add that the job was unfinished at the end of each of the first two full days. But the original water heater went away after the first few hours. No problem. Ely made sure we had hot water both nights.
I honestly do not know how many of these units Ely has installed, but watching the ease with which he went about his work, I have to believe the number is huge. But he did more than that. When he banged up my walls to some extent to run new piping he did the drywall repairs. And having done a bit of that work myself, I can honestly say he did a first-class job with the repairs. All that's left is to give it a coat of paint.
The one thing I most wanted when I went in search of a plumber is someone I can trust to do the work that needs to be done, to do it professionally, and to charge a fair rate for the work he does. And what is a fair rate? Well, it's not the cheapest guy in town. Chuck in a truck ain't gonna cut it.
I have already discussed several other jobs I need to have done in the near future, jobs I will ask Ely to do for me because I trust him. He's honest, and he is also very knowledgeable. In discussing my various options for a job with him, I also get a lot of information on why certain things are done a certain way. Thus armed, I can make more intelligent choices.
Ely is the real deal. I heartily recommend him to anyone who needs a plumber.
Ely at Castillo Works has been a pleasure to work with. My partner and I just purchased a townhome in Serra Mesa, and were looking to install a ductless mini-split. I purchased the mini-split directly from a distributor. Ely sent his handy HVAC tech, Bobby out to provide us with a quote, which was beyond reasonable versus any other of the 4 quotes we had received from other companies located here in the San Diego Area.
Bobby completed the work, which we were very pleased with his hard work and knowledge, and installed the unit to our liking.
We are currently facing a slab leak, and Castillo Works has already provided a quote in a quick and timely manner. We will definitely be utilizing them to our current and future plumbing needs!

Tuesday, 2/19/2019: Yesterday, I met Ely the business owner for an estimate and survey for a 40gal gas water heater replacement/installation - my gas water heater was installed in 2003 and was at the verge of dying on me and being that I travel a lot I wanted piece of mind that my family was in good hands with a reliable water heater. I was leaning more for a tankless water heater because I was looking for savings in my natural gas bill plus giving me more footprint space in my garage. I received a reasonable estimate and agreed for a tankless gas water heater installation.
Today, Ely and crew arrived on time and commenced the work for a tankless water heater unit equivalent to a 50gal tank water heater. They were professional, neat and courteous and answered all the questions I had regarding my new tankless water heater. They are reliable and personable that I'm having them replace my 27 yr old water pressure regulator and shutoff valve that is corroded and in need of replacement especially now with my new tankless unit. Castillo works plumbing is amazing and accommodating! They did some work for us a couple weeks ago and did an excellent job. We recently had called them this past Friday at 7:30pm and I didn't think I was going to be able to speak to anyone, but luckily Alex answered and was able to fix our clogged sewer/plumbing problem. We had all four bathroom shower/toilet clogged up with standing water in all showers. It was a horrible experience and Alex came to the rescue! He came out really late, fixed the problem and I seriously thought it was going to cost us a lot of money. But he then gestured it was on the house, since they recently just charged us with a plumbing issue a couple weeks ago. We just moved into our new house and had a family friend install our gas dryer, unfortunately, we woke up to a house that smelled of gas. Although, the problem appeared to be a faulty part, our friend recommended we hire professionals to finish the install to make sure we were safe. I called a couple of places but decided to follow my instinct and go with Castillo. Eli was quick to respond, was available within a couple of hours and was in and out very quickly. He even noticed our broiler had an incorrect part and replaced that at no cost! We will most definitely be using Castillo Works & Eli for all our future needs!
DO NOT USE THIS BAD COMPANY! I called Castillo Plumbing because I had issues with my water heater. Ely, the representative seamed to be willing to help with my situation. He came to my home to get the work started. He needed to call the manufacturer to get a code so I kindly asked him if it would help if I gave him a case number that the manufacturer had already given me. Instantly, Ely the rep. from Castillo Plumbing, went crazy as if I had insulted his intellect or something!!! He went off on me telling me that he had not asked me any questions and to remain quiet. But the way he said it was very rude and angry!! Then my son asked in a nice manner if we could open a faucet inside the house while he was replacing the heater? And again Ely went nuts!! I believe that as a paying customer one is allowed to make questions pertaining to the job. We were not trying to tell him how to do his job or anything like that. We just wanted to help but he felt aggravated and became the nastiest person possible. I would never, EVER!! recommend Castillo Plumbing to anyone in the world! Specially not this Ely guy! He is very rude and disrespectful. So many options out there, he should realize that the number one factor to get recommendations is by offering good customer service and being nice to your customers. And just as I told him, if he is having a bad day, he should stay home and not take it out on his customers.

When I couldn't turn off my faucet early Saturday morning, Castillo got someone out right away. The plumber showed me how to temporarily fix the broken faucet and that I needed a new faucet. Then he did not even take payment for the visit.

I had messaged this business on the Yelp app so I'm happy of their awareness through newer technology. I needed to fix a broken and leaking water hose faucet and I was quoted almost instantly and had an appointment for a few days out. My faucet was fixed in less than an hour and I haven't had a problem since! Seriously can't get any better than a quick and reliable service for an issue the average DIYer cant do. Glad to have done business with these guys.
I requested a quote from a couple different companies today to replace my water pressure reducing valve (I didn't know what it was called until today). Ely replied within minutes to help me diagnose what the actual issue was. When I called he was able to explain to me what the part was, what it was used for, and how the leak could have happened. He was also able to come today to fix it! I am very impressed and will definitely use them again.
Btw, I also got a response from Eastlake plumbing who told me to go to Home Depot, buy a gauge and do a water pressure test ... if I was going to do that, I wouldn't have asked for help.
What's worst than going home at 0300 and finding a leaking heater in the garage? After looking at YouTube on how to turn the heater off to avoid further damage, I called Eli in the morning and he came right away to assessed my heater. That same day, we got the new heater installed. Very professional, trustworthy and efficient. This is the second time I used their service and will definitely recommend to anyone.

What a great find! We had our waterheater leak on a Friday. Ely came out that night to assess the situation and returned the next morning to do the work. Called Ely and he took care of me right away. One of my properties had a sink that was leaking and it was critical to get something like this fixed right away to avoid any major damage. These guys are legit came out quick for my water heater. It wasn't staying lit when I tried to turn it on and it turned out to be the thermocouple. They fixed it in about an hour! Not only they fixed it in one day but fast and came with a 90 day warranty!
Best and fastest service you can find! We've been having problems with our water pressure, we had another business fix it at first but our water pressure still kept on going up! Thank heavens for RV who knew how to permanently fix our pressure by installing a thermal expansion tank to our water heater. Service was excellent, hassle-free, and now we have nothing to worry about. RV was very informative, prompt to respond, and he gave us the best rate too! Overall service is great!

Danny fixed my shower valve and shut off valves. Excellent work and professionalism! He was working on the shower valve when he saw a problem with a toilet shut off valve. After he finished the shower valve, he inspected the unit's shut off valve and replaced them all on a second visit. I'm glad he caught it and he explained it thoroughly what could've happened if it didn't get replaced as soon as possible. No regrets!
Today I received excellent service..we live in an older home, Art and Rv replaced our washer overflow drain pipe. It was an antique. They purchased the materials within an 1 hour and started the work and completed it in l hour. There price was very v reasonable. We are very happy. Needed it repaired quickly, gotta do laundry. The drain pipe to our new washer backed up into the kitchen sink at 10 pm on a Friday night. After a quick Yelp search, we settled on Castillo Works Plumbing. I called and surprisingly someone answered! I can't remember the name of the man I spoke to, maybe Eli (?). He said they would contact me in the morning for an ETA. Jose called to give me his ETA - he was on time. Jose's customer service is top notch - he even asked if he should take off his shoes before coming inside our home. Clog was fixed - Jose stayed while I ran the fill/drain cycle twice to make sure it worked. This company will be my plumbing go to in the future.
Eli came by the same day we inquired about a gas leak issue in our garage. Not only was he extremely fast, efficient, and knowledgeable, but extremely fair with his pricing! He was very professional and takes pride in his work. He even took a look at another issue and replaced a piece for us at no extra charge!! Highly recommend and will definitely be calling him if we need anything else!

These guys are amazing! I needed a gas shutoff valve installed on the existing gas line behind my stove.
Spoke with Troy from Plumbing Solutions two days ago. He said he'd call me this morning between 0800 and 0900 with the time he would come today. By 1030, you guessed it, no call and he wouldn't answer his phone.
I called Castillo Works and within an hour and a half they had sent out a plumber and completed the job at a reasonable price. I'll be calling them again whenever we need a plumber.
Great service through and through. I called on a Sat after we discovered a gas leak and SDG&E shut the main off. Castillo sent out Jose on a SATURDAY, same day, no extra charge. Jose called and gave a one hour window, then he called and said he could make it even earlier, perfect!
Jose did a very thorough assessment, crawling into the crawl space, etc. He pumped air into the pipes and sprayed soapy water to find the areas that were leaking, he then video taped the leaks to show us. We ok'd the repairs which he said he could do the next day, SUNDAY. The repairs were quoted to take a day or two but he actually finished the same day, and a little early at that. He also replaced some valves and pipe that were not in the original estimate but didn't charge us. Finally, we had to have a city inspector come out and approve the repairs, Jose asked to informed of the time of the inspection so he could be there in case there were questions, no additional charge. The inspector was pleased Jose was there as Jose could show him exactly what he did. Btw, Jose showed up about 30 min b4 the inspection.
Overall, these guys were exceptional from start finish and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Ely and his crew are amazing!!! They helped walk me through how to get my water heater warrantied out. They are timely, clean, and very thorough. I first messaged him through yelp and his responses were extremely fast. His estimate and pricing was spot on, no gouging or hidden fees. I highly recommend them. If any future plumbing issues arise, I will contact him without hesitation.

Beware of this company. DO NOT HIRE. They came out three times to repair a leak under my kitchen sink in less than a six month period. Each time claimed something different and charges an EXORBITANT amount. Staff is not professional or competent. I am a member of the US Navy family and caution everyone to seek services elsewhere. Not to be trusted.
I've been in my townhouse for approximately 10 months now and they have conducted a variety of repairs and upgrades including completely re-sealing toilet tanks, upgrading faucets, clearing kitchen sink drain and just recently replaced a water heater. Each and every time, they are incredibly responsive to getting the repairs done and pricing is always reasonable. If I could provide 6 stars on this rating, I would.

Messaged Castillo Works via yelp because I needed their services. I walked on my family room carpet and felt a wet spot. At first I thought my dog was being a bad boy and peed on the carpet then i took another step then squish again. Oh it seemed like a leak sprung out from the bottom. The next morning, Castillo Works brought out Franklin and a partner of his. They used a gadget and found out the leak was inside the wall. They cut the drywall, found the leak they fixed it. It was a relief it was there instead of coming from underground. These guys are true professionals, explained what was going on and pricing. I would definitely hire them again for plumbing services. They are a top notch plumbing company!
I contacted Castillo Plumbing after a handyman replaced the pressure valve twice in 3 days, but the leaking continued. CWP came out, and confirmed my suspicions...it was time for my water heater to meet its maker. so sad...but within an hour, the guys had the dying beast in their truck, the new water heater installed in the same space! not only that, but they re-routed the pipe that 'handles leaks' through the garage wall and into a bare ground area at the back of a garden section. that way, I don't have to deal with more damage to items stored in my garage. I am a satisfied customer.
Ely was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Within minutes he diagnosed the issue and provided solutions. He is also one of the most honest plumbers we have encountered in a couple decades. Ely will be our 1st call for any future plumbing needs.

Couldn't be happier. I don't tend to write reviews, but I had to in this case. We recently moved out of state and left our home for sale. During escrow we had a crazy water damage claim. Not only were Castillo Works super quick and accommodating, they also addressed some of the the repair requests for the buyers which also saved us a huge headache. We were completely impressed. I believe they conduct their business in an honorable and professional manner. The owner and the plumber handling our job both were great. They were clearly men of integrity, were always reachable and charged us for exactly the work we needed to have done. In fact, they charged a very reasonable amount, and considering we are in another state, we were vulnerable to whatever a plumber told us. Seriously, stop reading reviews right now. We bought a new stove and the gas valve from our wall was hitting the back of it, causing the stove to stick out several inches past the cabinetry. Art came and moved the valve up against the wall, allowing the stove to be pushed into an acceptable position. The work was quick, and the price was very fair. I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.
Quick response: Called Friday evening, they came on Saturday morning and completed the job. Art was very professional. Slight confusion about redemption of the Yelp voucher deal, but ultimately resolved.
Love this family. Ely came to our rescue when our hot water hose broke to our water heater. He also installed it back in 2014. A man of his word. Fixed the problem with no charge. My go to for sure. I highly recommend them.
Contacted Castillo Works Plumbing on a Sunday morning to replace a leaking water heater. Ely and crew came out that afternoon and replaced my old water heater and added an expansion tank at a price less than Home Depot. The crew was friendly, knowledgable, and did a very clean job installing my new water heating system. Castillo Works has come through for us at least four times in the last couple of years. I am one of those people that researches companies on yelp and other sites prior to reaching out to have estimates done and Castillo Works always popped up on searches with excellent reviews. They have fixed our AC unit at least three times and most recently fixed our plumbing issues. They are always quick to respond to phone calls and texts and are always polite and professional. I wanted to install a new gas stove in my kitchen and needed to run a new gas line to make it possible. Alex and Marco came to my house the same day to give an estimate and were able to complete the job the very next day. They were professional, considerate, and did a fantastic job. Very happy I decided to go with Castillo Works Plumbing.
UPDATE: A month after we had the original gas line installed we needed to have the height of the nozzle adjusted to fit our new stove. We again called Castillo Works Plumbing and they sent someone out right away to help us with the modification. We are very happy with the result and highly recommend Castillo Works Plumbing!
Needed water heater replaced and was recommended by a friend of Castillo Works Plumbing. Gave Ely a call and was able to schedule morning appointment. He came on time and suggested additional repairs/improvements. Pricing was fair and reasonable. He was able to remove and replace the heater before the afternoon. Our heater broke and we woke up to 58 degrees in our house! A week before Christmas and everyone was super busy! However, Ely at Castillo works said he would be out that same day! Highly recommend Castillo Works Plumbing! Ely was very knowledgeable when it came to repairing my system. I didn't have any air flow coming from half of the vents in my house. Ely took one quick look at my system and provided a quick diagnosis and he was spot on with the repair. Ely also identified that my evaporator drip pan was not draining and quickly took care of that necessary maintenance for me as well. Ely was very friendly and professional. I sent a message, with pictures, for an estimate to Castillo Works Plumbing, about my leaky Water Filter, and got a quick response from Ely with an estimate included. He came over and fixed the issue, all on the same day. I would definitely recommend Castillo Works Plumbing to anyone I know.
I think it is a hit and miss with this company. You can see from the reviews his good months and his not-so-good months.
I had a leaky faucet and he sent one of his partners to do the job. His partner (Octavio) charged us $140 and when he finished, it all seemed fixed, come to find the leak continued. Granted there is more to the problem then initially expected, however, he failed to inspect the entire sink for any dysfunction. He said he only fixed what we told him to. Wait. You see a leaky faucet when you first arrive and aren't you the plumber to know this is not normal!? Called him to let him know and... interesting... he said immediately That'll be an additional $200 and I can be there tomorrow... WHA!!?
Castillo Works was the only plumbing company that got back to me on a Saturday within a few minutes. The tech, Jose called and said I can be there in 20 mins which he did. He advised me of the charge for what needed to be done for diagnosis / cut drywall. It's was done as stated. The problem was a larger job than we anticipated but definitely will call Castillo Works next time.

So impressed and grateful to Castillo Works plumbing! Eli was quick to respond to my call and then to answer all of my questions. He was at my house with parts to repair my leaking pipes and install a new water pressure regulator at the exact time he said he would arrive. These guys were great! Within 10 minutes of emailing a request for an HVAC technician, I was told to expect a visit from Robert within the same day. Robert was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. There were a few failing components with my 10 yr old Central Air and Heating system. Within a few days the parts were ordered and installed. Parts and labor were extremely reasonable. I would certainly recommend this company for HVAC repair to anyone in need.

Woke up this morning to a busted water heater. Our garage floor was wet all over. Called a couple places, but Castillo had the quickest response time. I live in Otay ranch and he was able to come out within 30 min. Our water heater needed replacing since it was 16 yrs old. Castillo was very efficient and thorough with his work and also practices extreme safety measures for social distancing. I highly recommend!

This is an overdue review. Had the following work done:
May 2018: Emergency repair of fridge water valve that calcified and broke off almost causing flood, work done by ART.
May 2018: Emergency inspection of 2nd story toilet leak. Self repair done after eval but JOSE returned to fix my water filter drain hook up that was done 1/2 assed by a prior plumber causing water to spray everywhere.
August 2018: Replacement of outdoor water spigot that was stuck. Work done by Eli.
Conclusion: Each of these guys were punctual, professional and knowledgeable. Work was legit and prices were very reasonable. It's been hard to find squared away plumbers who aren't trying to upsell you on B.S. Castillo Works Plumbing earned my trust and business for decades to come!

A friend recommended Castillo because of his experience of their great work and prices. I couldn't agree more. Mr. Castillo contacted me within minutes. He gave me a time to stop by and quoted me a good price. His work is exceptional.
I called Ely in the morning and he showed up 30 mins later. I told him that I needed my water heater and water regulator replace. He was knowledgeable and told me what was needed and how long it would take. The price was fair and competitive to other plumbers around the area. He and his team completed the job and I'm satisfied with everything that was done! I will consider him for future jobs!
Our hot water heater went out late on a Wednesday night and the wife was not happy because we were unable to take hot showers. I called Castillo Works Plumbing early the next morning and Ely picked up the phone right away and was over to my house in about a 20 minutes. Confirmed it was the hot water heater and had a new one installed by noon that day! All this happened during spring break and I had plans to take my kids out that day so I was thrilled that Ely was able to get this done in a timely manner. He went as far as to take a look at my sprinkler system and showed me how to fix the issues that I had. I would definitely use Ely's services again without a doubt!

We had Castillo Works Plumbing replace 4 bathroom sink faucets. The company would have received a higher review, but the technician did not have all the necessary supplies for the job. But overall he did an outstanding job and we definitely recommend this plumbing company.
Castillo Plumbing was great! Called them at 8 am for a stuck and leaking pressure valve on my toilet. I was replacing the fill valve when I sprung a leak. They answered immediately and agreed to help me the same day. They arrived 45 min earlier than expected! The plumber was very courteous and professional and was finished in a matter of minutes. Stayed to make sure everything was working and even helped me finish the toilet repair. I highly recommend Castillo and will use again!

I hired CastilloWorks for relocating my washer/dryer from upstairs to the garage. Ely Castiilo, the Owner and Art, the Plumber were on top of the issue and the project. We started with 2 clogs - the kitchen sink/dishwasher and the washer. We called castillo plumbing and they came out the next day. He snaked the kitchen clog but then said they couldn't get the washer clog out because he didn't want to damage the pipe. They recommend we cut out a portion of our garage wall and part of the floor to replace part of the pipe. We were quoted $1200 for that work, so we decided to stop there and leave the one clogged. We were charged $150 for them to snake one 2 pipe.
The next day we called another company (George Baird plumbing) out for a second opinion. This plumber had no trouble clearing the washer clog and it only cost $25!

Fast forward almost 2yrs and I'm having problems w my shower going cold after 2 minutes. I call Ely and he comes by and diagnosed and corrected the problem within minutes on a Saturday! He did inform me that I need to run an additional gas line to prevent the issue from recurring, but it is refreshing to know that he was willing to talk to me about the issue and how to address it properly without having to spend a dime for his valuable time. It's nice to know they stand behind their work, thanks!
We had a water leak on the pressure regulator at my mom's house. Called Ely Wednesday night, got a quick quote for the repair, and he came out first thing Thursday morning. The repair was completed quickly and without issue. There was no upsales or other gimmicks. Ely's an honest guy and knows his craft. Our water heater had a leak and needed to be replaced. We called Castillo Works Plumbing and they came over right away to see what needed to be done. They would have replace the water heater that same day but I had other commitments. Art showed up right on time the next day and did a excellent job replacing the water heater. He left the area cleaner than it was when he showed up. We highly recommend this company.

I had serious leak problem with my toilet. The tank was leaking and the metal piece coming out of the wall was totally open. I had to turn all water of in the house or water would go all over the place. I called a couple different companies, I went with Castillo Plumbing because they were very nice and courteous. They had affordable prices and were able to make it out fast. I do not really ever write reviews but with the service, affordability and professionalism that they provided I knew I had to write one.
They were fast to respond to my request. Sent them a message in the evening and they showed up next morning and started working. Their rate was vey affordable compared to other quotes.
I needed the main line repaired. They even offered a few free cleaning services. The team was professional and did a great job! I will definitely use them again and recommend them for your services!
Eli is amazing! After a very stressful 30 hours without a.c. during the hottest days of the year. I have 2 small children and I was freaking out sleeping in 80-90° heat inside. I had been going back and forth with a bunch of no shows over the course of the day. I contacted him at 6pm, he came over IMMEDIATELY and it was fixed within the hour. I wish I had found him Sunday afternoon. ELI deserves more than 5 stars thank you!!!!!

This is our first time using Castillo Works Plumbing and I have to say they are very professional and friendly. We wanted a vanity sink installed to our guest bathroom and it looks beautiful. We will definitely use them in the future for any plumbing issues. Highly recommended!

I had a sudden leak in my water heater, and of course it had to be on a Sunday! I called Castillo Plumbing and within the day they were able to determine the problem, and I had a brand new water heater installed by the end of the day, for what I believe was a reasonable price. My husband saw the paint on the ceiling in our lower bathroom was bubbled, got home and I made a whole in the paint and the sheet rock was moist. Searched on yelp for about an hour and decided to give Castillo plumbing a try since they had great reviews. Called and was told to send a text with our info and then a tech would give me a call. It wasn't a emergency since there wasn't any water actually leaking through. Got a call about 15 minutes later set up a time on Saturday.
Alex came out and checked it out. He is honest, kind and knowledgeable. Had to cut a whole in our ceiling and told us all the options of what it could be. He figured out it was a gasket somewhere under the tub. Fixed it for a great price. We will definitely call Castillo again if we have any issues. Highly recommend! Thank you Alex for the help!

Eli and his crew repaired a major leak coming from an upstairs. bathroom. The leak caused damage to the bathroom ceiling and walls
downstairs. The work was excellent and the damaged area repaired.
Eli stood by his word and damaged areas now look better than they did
prior to the leak. Excellent work, very reasonable price, and very
professional staff. This is by far the best and most reasonable
plumbing company I ever experienced. Will definitely call them again

Water heater was leaking and nearing 10 years old so we decided it needed replacing. Requested a quote and got a call within minutes. We picked up the water heater and they were here by the afternoon to replace it. Everything went smoothly and they were done in an hour!
Fantastic service!! I've called Castillo Works Plumbing a few times for random work before. As soon as I discovered that my water heater is leaking I have called to Ely again. He's always been incredibly quick to respond to my calls or text messages. He's been able to be at my home the same day to diagnose the problem. New water heater has been installed in three hours.

The installed water heater was only 3.5-ish yeas old started leaking. I called Ely and explained the situation and in turn Ely provided a replacement water since the unit is under warranty. Castillo Works Plumbing installed the first water heater and did a fine job and will also say that the water did not leak do to the plumber's installation. However, Ely himself did the install this time and did a fantastic job. You can tell that Ely takes great pride in work and can make a dismal situation better.
Now down to the price; Ely quoted me the labor and that was the price. Castillo Works Plumbing did not try to up-sale or over quote the job. The price is fair and better than other outfits you will see out there including the commercials.
I've used Castillo Works Plumbing in the past for Pressure Valves, Clean-Out access and other jobs like extending the water lines and drain for a sink in the garage and I have never been disappointed or over charged.
I highly recommend Castillo Works Plumbing and Ely's pride in craftsmanship.

Very prompt with courteous service. Unfortunately the person they sent over seemed over his head and inexperienced. He took care of 2 toilets and fixed them. however he was on the phone with someone who was providing step by step instructions and this took 3 hours. While he did a good job, I was hoping they would provide and overall diagnostic on all the plumbing as I still suspect a water leak somewhere. He seemed pretty overwhelmed with the first 2 tasks that I skipped it. I'm still going to have to call someone else to take care of the rest :(
Eli was contacted today. Within 30 min he was able to schedule an appointment and arrived the same day. He quoted me a reasonable price to fix my air conditioner and never tried to sell anything else .
Outstanding I will use him again.

Water heater went out on Sunday, call Eli on Monday morning, Ely said he'd be here around 11 was right on time. Gave an estimate, while tank was draining he went out got everything he needed. Worked in the rain got a new water heater installed. He took the old one and left a clean work area. Very pleased again with his service. Would highly recommend him.
Ely answered my call right away. Our air conditioner broke during a heat wave and we were worried. He and Bruce were able to come out the next day and replace the AC capacitor and fuse immediately. He also gave us advice on fixing lighting fixtures ourselves and cleaning the laundry machine. He was very helpful and professional!
I purchased a new range and when the installers went to install it they found the gas line protruded too far out for it to sit flush with my counters. I was going to have to relocate the gas line to a location where the range would fit. This would also involve tearing out and replacing the drywall.
I found Castillo Works Plumbing on Yelp and requested a quote based on the excellent ratings they had received. Ely texted me back within 5 minutes of requesting the quote. After speaking with him he gave me a quote I found reasonable for the work being performed so I scheduled an appointment.
Ely showed up at the scheduled time and went right to work. He relocated the gas line to a location where I could push my range all the way up against the wall so it sits flush with my counters. He also did a very good job replacing the drywall, including texturing it to match the rest of the wall.
I am very happy with the work performed and will not hesitate to call Ely when I am in need of any plumbing work.

Our double sink in the kitchen backed up, and nothing we tried (Including snaking it) fixed it. We submitted a quote request to 6 local plumbing companies, through Yelp. Alex at Castillo was the only one who called us. The others messaged back, asking me to call them. No quote offered. So we went with Castillo, and Alex. Him and his partner showed up on time, figured out the problem, went to work, and 45 minutes later both sides were draining perfectly. Both guys were professional, friendly, and Alex explained the problem, and what it would take to fix it. He also gave me a price, up front. And that is exactly what it cost when they were finished. No surprise fees or add ons. They even cleaned up after themselves, and left very little mess behind. We will definitely be using them again if we ever have another problem.
Let's start this by saying, Eli was the calm during my moment of panic. Our water heater had a slow leak and when we finally noticed where the water was coming from in our garage it was too late. The leak caused damage to two walls in our garage. And of course our private insurance had lapsed by two weeks so we were going to have to cover the damage ourselves. I have three small kids and couldn't go more than a day without warm water in the house. I called one water heater repair company who came out and quoted me $4,000 for simply replacing the heater (a temporary set up of our water heater on the floor until I could find someone to fix the drywall, then come back and put the water heater back on the based we have on our garage). I was still going to have to find another company to repair the wall. $6,000 was WAY out of our budget.
I quickly started searching another water heater repair company with good reviews on Yelp. This is when I found Eli's company. I messaged Eli hoping
to get response in the next day or so. He responded within 30 minutes. He answered ALL the questions I had. I showed up that same day with a new water heater ready to install. Although I thought our damage was extensive and I was concerned the work was going to take more than a week, he reassured me that it wasn't that big of a deal. He replaced our water heater and repaired the walls for way less than the other company. The quality of the repair work was excellent and it was all completed in four days. We never went without warm water either which was a big deal for us with the kids.
I highly recommend Eli and his company for repair work big and small.

Great service! This is the second time we have used Castillo works, first was for a sprinkler leak we had and now we just had our washer valves replaced. Ely and his team came out, got the job done and even patched up the drywall for us afterwards. I want to thank Eli so much for his help and service today. Im currently sick with the flu but was experiencing problems with my kitchen sink. I ran the dishwasher and it resulted in my side yard flooding with water and food waste. I called him and he fixed it. All of that stress just relieved from my shoulders. Especially before I called him my insurance told me that it isnt a big deal and I should just hose it off. Yea because thats what I want to do after feeding my large filipino family is to do alll of those dishes then hose down food waste and water on the side of the house. Eli is a life saver. Ely to the rescue once again! Water Heater had given up (after 14 years) so I placed a call to Castillo Works and Ely picked up right away. We tried a few fixes over text but when none of them were the problem he came over and took a look. Time for a new one, as all my neighbors have been having to do as our homes were built in 2005. Got our brand new water heater installed, old one removed and left everything neat and tidy. Excellent experience as always!
Had a leaking garbage disposal in the kitchen this morning and Art and Ely came to fix/replace it. Communication between scheduling and them arriving was great. Competitive/reasonable pricing. They were at my house in about an hour and finished the job in a reasonable amount of time. They were courteous as to not making a mess and left the area just as they found it.

After tackling several plumbing issues related to having a rather old house over the past few years, we decided to try a new plumbing service because our regulars were unable to schedule an appointment for several days.
Our usual small cleanout issue was diagnosed as part of a much larger problem by Alex. This was already evident from how quickly the problems had been coming up recently, and rather than charging us for a visit that couldn't really solve the larger issue, Alex gave us an estimate and we made a tentative date for him to come back and complete the rather involved one day job.
Just to be sure, I called out our usual plumbers the next day to get a second opinion. They quoted us a higher price and a two to four day job. I thanked them and immediately called back Alex to confirm our date. Alex and his crew arrived on time before 9am the morning of the job and worked through the day to excavate a significant amount of main line plumbing pipe and put in a new proper install with new cleanouts and routing. They finished by 4pm.
There remained one small clog (through no fault of Alex; it was a kitchen sink issue) the next day, and after calling Alex (who was in the middle of another job), made it out to us within 2 hours and promptly cleaned out the problem. Afterwards we discussed the bill for the previous days' job and the final price was significantly less than what he originally quoted us due to there being somewhat different conditions and work than was originally anticipated. Alex explained everything they worked on and how to avoid future issues very thoroughly and kindly.
In short, we could not have been happier with their service. Prompt scheduling, good communication, great price and excellent overall work.

Ely is very punctual and professional. My water heater leaked on a Friday and I had insurance but they won't send a plumber till the following Tuesday. So I started checking plumbers in Yelp and that's where I saw Castillo Works. I called Ely and he responded right away. I called Ely on Jan 2nd due to my water heater leaking problem. My garage was flooded with water but fortunately we found the problem before it gets worse. Ely responded very quickly to come to our house and replaced the heater in about 4 hours and also provided a fan to drive up the heater stool. We are very satisfied with his service and quality job. I will definitely be giving my future business to Ely after a pleasant experience with him and his crew. I had a burst pipe in my garage above the water heater and it was a stressful ordeal. They came out within the hour and after only couple hours later I was good as new.
