We used Don for the installation of a water heater and some other work at our business and he was great to work with. He was extremely responsive and honest in his assessments and work. I would definitely recommend him for any of your residential or commercial plumbing needs.
Very responsive to quote requests. I sent a quote request late at night and the owner responded very quickly and said he could be at my house the next morning! And at a reasonable price. Unfortunately or fortunately I managed to fix the issue myself shortly after making the appointment and had to cancel on him, but I will be saving his info for the future!
Don is great! He is honest and professional, informative, on time and friendly. Today I called regarding a past due backflow sprinkler test, and he was able to accommodate us the same day. He also fixed a broken outside spigot pipe for us as well. Competitive pricing. Definitely would recommend.

Had 2 toilet repairs and one outside faucet replacement due to frozen pipe issue this past winter. Neat and efficient service, fair and accurate pricing, pointed out possible future problems with suggestions on how to minimize/ prevent going forward. Don and team provided excellent customer service and top notch plumbing service! They were true professionals and on time, reasonable prices, and went above and beyond to satisfy our plumbing needs. We will definitely recommend them to our family and friends.
Solid local business. I liked that a real person answered and he was able to give me competitive pricing. I had called enough places to know what the going rate is. I had 2 hose bibs on the outside of the house replaced because they were leaking. They were the original fixtures. They are working beautifully and I don't expect any problems during the winter. I will definitely call if I need future plumbing work.

Very responsive and schedule site visit immediately. Took their time so I understood what was happening and the rates.... Extremely reasonable.
If I have future plumbing needs, D E Matthieu will be my first call.
With not much experience with plumbers I was hoping for honesty, quality and a fair price (as with all services). Mr. Mathieu responded to my quote request in less than 10 minutes, gave me a reasonable quote (not the cheapest and not the most expensive) and told me what time to expect him the next day. I think I should probably set my watch to him as he came by exactly when he said he would. He worked quickly, cleanly and took care of our issue before we could blink. He also came well under his initial quote.
This is a local business which I am always more inclined to support. Highly recommend D E Mathieu Plumbing.
Don responded to a call for an ejector pump issue. He came out a few days later as scheduled, texted me to let me know his arrival time, and replaced our pump quickly and got everything working again. We've had him out to unclog a kitchen sink line, and recently he installed a backup sump pump for us. At each visit he lets me know when he's coming and shows up on time. His prices are fair, his communication is great, and he is a really nice guy. I'm not looking forward to our next plumbing issue, but when it happens, I've got Don on speed dial.

Don came out to do a consult very promptly after we first reached out. I was solely looking for a backup battery install on our sump pump. He quickly pointed out that our pump was in need of replacement (age and knowing the model). He recommended what I thought was a very fair and the right solution for our sized basement and needs. He also took care of our two toilets that needed valve replacements. Would recommend him to anyone I know in the area with any plumbing questions or issues. Will contact him for all our questions or issues in the future.
Don helped us out twice in one week. He is extremely pleasant to talk to and is very responsive to calls and texts. Both times he came to our house, he was there within hours and exactly at the time he said he'd be there. The additional gentlemen that was working with him was great as well. They'll be our first call next time we have a plumbing need.
I highly recommend DE Mathieu Plumbing. Don was very responsive to my request for a quote and was able to provide the quote based on a picture I texted to him. His price was reasonable, he showed up on time, and was friendly and efficient. I couldn't ask for a better experience.
We recently bought our first house and have had some questions on plumbing just to be prepared when we need to do things such as repairs or maintenance. Don has been extremely responsive and helpful with a variety of questions and is always direct and to the point. We will be planning to use him when we have future plumbing needs - we are very appreciative of the time he has spent helping us out.
One of the most reliable and honest plumbers in the business! I reached out because my master bath water spout was dripping, which drove me nuts. I sent him a picture and he gave me a fair estimate. He was able to inspect it first hand and advised that I needed a new handle, which would take a couple weeks to order. The part came in last week, and would've had it installed last week but I was out of town. It was installed today in less than an hour. And no more dripping! I'll definitely reach out to him for future projects!
I called and spoke with a man who asked that I text him the details and he would check his schedule and let me know. He said he was booked for the next month. I advised this was fine as my BBQ install with the natural gas line in the house was not urgent, however, 48 hours later and nobody has reached out to me to schedule anything.
Don responded quickly and was able to deduce a relatively complicated situation that was causing our shower cartridges to clog up. He provided a fair estimate and took care of the situation prompted. We also found some other issues that Don took care of quickly on a subsequent trip. Don was easy to work with and knows his stuff. We'll definitely be using D E Mathieu going forward.

I have an older home and I was extremely pleased with Don and Andy's work when fixing my pipes under my sink. They are punctual, courteous, honest and priced my job fairly. I ran into issues after the job was done and they came back out the following day and fixed the new issues that came up. If you have an older home( my house was built in 52)) and want a plumber with experience... need I say more. I will definitely use D E Matthieu from now on for all my plumbing needs.
I had low water pressure and connected with Don on Yelp. He came out at the agreed time checked a few things and provided me advice on getting the problem corrected. He removed an old water filter and suggested I call the city first and he be happy to come back if that didn't solve the problem. I offered to pay him and he refused payment but asked to keep him in mind for future work. Don, you'll be the plumber we call.
Don Mathieu and his son just left and I didn't want to wait another minute to write this review! After reaching out to him this morning as we suddenly realized we had no hot water from our 10+ years old heater, to a newly-installed water heater by 2pm, our experience with Don was outstanding every step of the way. His responsiveness was great (even to all our questions), with a comprehensive, no-suprises quote, and fair price. And the workmanship was excellent!

Don is great! Our company was having an issue with brown water and he came out, diagnosed the problem and recommended a solution at a very reasonable price. I will be keeping his name in my phone for home plumbing issues because he is so honest and fair.
I would like to add, I called for multiple bids and he is the ONLY plumber in Warrenville that even bothered to call back. He came out that day and fixed the problem right away. We couldn't be happier.

Excellent! Don is honest, timely, and fair-priced. He responded quickly to my inquiry, provided me a fair quote, was able to come out same-day, and even arrived right on time! He is experienced knowledgeable. I had an outdoor faucet explode when I used it for the first time in spring. He replaced the faucet, cleaned up after he was finished, and even replaced my soaked insulation and patched the drywall. I didn't expect that! I've read most plumbers refer you to someone else to repair walls. I am very happy with his work and will definitely enlist his services in the future.

Don installed a sump pump in my basement. Other plumbers weren't sure how to fit it in around the other utilities in the space. Job was done well and quickly. Very satisfied.
Showed up on time. Knew the unit I purchased (from Lowe's) wouldn't fit before even opening the box. While Don & his assistant remove my old water heater, I ran to a plumbing supply store to get a model that would work (I have a small utility closet in my garage, so space is very tight, but Lowe's didn't sell any models thinner than the one I bought. Paid quoted price, which was about 25% below what Lowe's installation would have cost.

During the recent polar vortex I had a pipe burst. I got three referrals from a trusted source. Had to leave a voicemail for the first two. Called Don Mathieu and he answered. Told me he would arrive in 3-4 hours. Three hours later he was at my house and had the pipe repaired an hour later. The charge was much less than expected. I knew my hot water tank needed to be replaced as it had been leaking and was past warranty. I hired Don and he just completed that job. He was on-time, efficient, competitively priced and left no mess. He's very friendly and informative, highly skilled and very fair. What more can you ask for! He's definitely my new go-to plumber and I highly recommend him.

This guy is the best! Had a loose faucet that became a more complex problem and knew I needed to get a plumber into help. I was reluctant to call one out of fear I'd be over charged or sold something I didn't need. Found Don on Yelp - he emailed me right back and was at the house within an hour. No hidden fees, no selling - clear hourly rate for work performed. He finished fast, showed me a few things and was happy to watch me test his work. VERY fair pricing vs any other quote I got and clearly trustworthy guy. Will always call him in the future!!
Don has serviced my house for two separate projects over the last year and we've been nothing but pleased with his work. The first was a remodel project in which we had extensive plumbing done to move the laundry room from the basement to the first floor. He provided a detailed quote up front and stuck with it. He showed up to work on time each day and even worked when we were without power during a large storm.
The second time was today when I called up due to a clogged sewer line. He came out within hours and had everything wrapped up before 1pm. He explained everything that needed to be done and never tried to oversell or upsell anything.
Very trustworthy and dependable. Highly recommended.
