Established in 2003.
Good Plumbing INC started in 1982 by Jim McMahon (Not the punky QB from our 85' Bears ). He was a local neighborhood plumber who took care of everyones plumbing needs. He bartered service in the community and helped others who couldn't afford it. He was coined as the good ol' plumber. His son Brian, who followed in his footsteps started what is now today Good Plumbing. He continued to grow the business with the simple rule of following his dad's code of ethics and trustworthy reputation. Good Pluming has grown significantly and still operates under the same good ol' standards and strives to maintain its reputation in the Bucktown community, as well as the rest of the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Every effort is still made to remain competitive in pricing while focusing on serving the best interests of our new and existing legacy of customers.

i have to say that these guys ACTUALLY came through for me on a shower mixer issue.  They came out and problem solved as per Delta's suggestions and then came back after i received the part which was under warranty.  

the other plumbers on yelp were a disappointment.

I live in a newly constructed condo, but some of the contractors workmanship was shoddy. After only 6 months, the garbage disposal began leaking due to being installed improperly.  My sister called Good Plumbing after seeing some favorable recommendations from neighbors on the Nextdoor website.

She was told it would be $300 to remove the garbage disposal, reseal it and remount it. Not knowing any better she decided to go ahead with the job and Pete arrived a short time later that very same evening. He said he'd be in the area and could stop by on his way from another job.

Pete completed the job effectively, but his customer service left something to be desired. When he was done I asked him if there would be an additional charge in the event he had to come out again. He seemingly took this as a personal attack on his job performance and stated there would be no reason for him to come out again. I attempted again to get my original question answered, but he insisted it wouldn't be necessary. And when it came time to pay for the bill (via CC) he insisted on writing down my sister's full name, address, card number, zip code AND 3 digit security code on the back of the card. We both took issue with this for obvious reasons... it's simply not wise or safe to have that kind of information laying around on paper. Pete said it was GP policy to write down all that information and preceded to show us his clipboard containing a stack of customer receipts. All the receipts contained names, CC numbers, zip codes and security codes. I assume he was attempting to reassure us, but it did the exact opposite. I theorized if his truck was stolen then the thieves would have a field day charging up customer's credit cards. Pete balked at this suggestion stating that he'd never had a customer's information stolen in 35 years. And that previous customer's had charged upwards of 40k for certain jobs. As I said, Pete wasn't winning any customer service awards... Being dismissive of customer concerns isn't exactly the way to build rapport or loyalty. Also, it's 2021...there's no need for any service provider to be taking down customer's information.  Not when there are a plethora of payment apps available that safely process payments. My sister plans to cancel her credit card and request a new one once the charge for Good Plumbing is processed.  

Adding insult to injury, a couple of male friends told me later that we had been severely overcharged for the service provided. One friend said we'd been raped. Pete replaced the mounting bracket for the disposal which retails for about $20 because he said he didn't like the way our existing one looked. Then he sealed it with plumbers putty that costs about $5 at Home Depot. It maybe took him 15 minutes to do the job. I don't know what the average  cost is to fix a leaking garbage disposal, but I do know the Badger model I have retails for $110. So basically, I could've had two new ones for the price we paid. That didn't feel great, but you live and learn. Next time I'll use Task Rabbit and save a few bucks.

On a positive note, I appreciated Pete's prompt response... it wasn't an emergency, but the same day service was a plus. We called a few other places and was told it'd be anywhere from a few days to a week for someone to come out. Pete also wore a mask (properly) following Covid protocols. And so far his work has been solid. We haven't had any problems.

Haven't had the need for a plumber in years so I turned to Yelp to navigate the field.  Used their request a quote function and 2 plumbers responded but only 1 with an actual quote.  That would be Good Plumbing.  Scheduled an appointment for the next day and plumber was at my door shortly after the scheduled time.  Described my two issues (needed the toilet wax ring replaced and a leaky shower faucet).  He replaced the ring in about 20 minutes.  He said that the previous plumber didn't set the ring correctly so he made sure the toilet was set by using an 2nd ring.  Above and beyond!  

As to the 2nd issue of the leaky shower faucet, he checked it out and said it would require a new cartridge but he didn't have the part nor the approval to turn off the water to do the job right.  No problem, he gave me an honest answer and quote so that I was informed should I schedule another appointment for repair.  

To boot, they took $50 off for the Yelp discount for the ring replacement.

Worst Customer Service ever! Inconsiderate to others time. First appointment was made on Sunday for yesterday Thursday at 12-2. They were supposed to call when they are on there way, but by 130pm I called my landlord who called them and was told they were on there way! 245pm I call and they are still on there way. No apologies given just that they are short of staff. I rescheduled and they told me they could come today Friday more 8-9am. It is 940am and I'm still waiting. Hence, bad customer service. So disappointing!!!!
Follow up.... finally arrived at 10am finished in 20 minutes and charged $349.00 even with my landlord buying faucet. WOW!!!!!

I had two toilets not working-one clogged and one not filling up correctly. I called 4 Seasons Sewer and Plumbing Good Plumbing Inc.  I called at 5:30 PM on a Friday afternoon and they said they could come out that night.  Joseph and Javi came out. They were efficient, polite and they fixed my problem. They gave me a quote which was a little pricey, so I only did part of the recommended work, but both toilets were working when they left. They gave me a discount and it was all very inexpensive in the end. Great Experience with this business-many thanks.

I called Good Plumbing at 8 pm on a Sunday and was shocked to get a hold of a real person. We had accidentally broken a valve and had to have the water off to our unit. We needed to get help quickly. They were able to get someone here first thing on Monday morning and fixed the issue. The plumber was prompt, friendly, and knew how to resolve the problem right away. We are very satisfied and would definitely recommend to others!

Honest conversation with the owner who sent out another honest guy. My issue ended up being a slight tilt of the sewer pipe back towards the toilet which would cost a lot to level out. I appreciate their honesty that we have only had one issue up to this point and that it wasn't worth fixing unless it becomes an ongoing issue.

I received a call from William 11/16/18.  We had a great conversation.  I believe the communication problem was a computer glitch.  William wanted to resolve the plumbing problem.  An appointment was set for this Morning 11/19/18. The proposal was reasonable and the cartridge for the cold & hot water replaced.  A job well done.  I will hire this company again!

We had some sediment that was shaken loose and was blocking our faucet (inside the faucet) and ruining the pressure.  I called and made an appointment.  They came out on time and were very nice, but didn't do anything to fix the problem.  He said he didn't have the right tools even though I told them exactly what needed to be done (they needed to run water backwards through the kitchen faucet to loosen the impediment.  

He was here over an hour, and left the fixture slightly askew, fixing nothing.  Charged me $150.  So, in the end I worked from home for a day, paid $150, and ended up in slightly worse shape than when they started.  I went to home depot the following weekend, got a rubber hose and some duct tape and was able to mostly fix it myself using the method I thought they'd be prepared to do (but more professionally without duct tape).

They were nice and on time, otherwise I'd give them 1 star.

Cheers to Good Plumbing.  I called to get an emergency service and he (name escapes me right now) informed he could not get out until 5 days later due to the amount of service calls he had.  He understood my situation though and due to that, was honest and helped me find someone who could help.  A person like that cares about the customer so wanted to leave this review.

Aww, yes...being a homeowner is so much fun. Within our first 2 weeks of owning a condo we discover a leak in our spare bathroom....sigh.  

Like in most desperate situations I turned to Yelp for help and noticed the fabulous reviews for Good Plumbing. I called them up,  had a nice chat with the very cheerful owner (Andy), and had a plumber scheduled to fix the leak!

Good Plumbing sent Kevin over to my condo who was not on time, but actually 10 minutes early for the appointment- nice!! Kevin was very knowledgeable and nice...even my neurotic pup warmed up to him within minutes!  He fixed the leak within half hour, took a few pictures of my master bathroom to get me an estimate for a future renovation and was on his merry way.  The total came to $127, which both my husband and I thought was a little expensive, but then again Ive never hired a plumber so that's probably what they cost.  And I was psyched that they took credit cards since I never have cash on me and couldn't seem to find my checkbook once again.

Let's hope I don't need a plumber again in the near future (besides the renovation project), but I'd definitely call Good Plumbing again for any plumbing needs!

I emailed them through Yelp for an estimate around 8pm and got a response the next morning! Bill set up someone to come out that very day but I ended up having to reschedule a few hours beforehand. Bill was understanding and we found a time that worked the next morning.

The plumber who came, Joe, called on his way to be sure the time still worked,  and then arrived on time. He checked out the situation, told us exactly what needed to be done, quoted a very affordable price, and he fixed our problem in a under an hour. And that included a trip to the hardware store for parts. Joe was also friendly, especially to my very curious toddler, which I appreciated. Bottom line: fast, friendly, professional, affordable.

Called the company regarding a broken water heater on SUNDAY morning, somebody showed up around noon, and replaced it with a new one before dinner time! The price is not on the low end, but definitely a very reasonable one.

Some miscommunication in the middle of the job but most of the issues worked out eventually. Hope they could improve to be more frank up front, so that next job (sure we will call them again) will go more smoothly.

I wanted to leave a 5 star rating as Good Plumbing INC because they turned a bad plumbing experience around quickly and provided me with a great service and fixed a broken water pipe in my home at 10:30pm!  

I was stood up by another plumbing company when i was in need of emergency service while other companies wouldn't provide service until the next business day.  I couldn't wait as I had water flooding my basement and Good Plumbing came to my rescue within 45 mins of my call!  Also want to mention the office personal was incredibly friendly and helpful with instructions on how to shut off the water in my home to prevent any further water damage.  

Good Plumbing showed up with all needed tools and materials to fix my broken water pipe and had it fixed in less than an hour.  Pricing was reasonable and I don't think I was charged the emergency service fees.  I truly stumbled upon a gem and will be sure to call Good Plumbing for my  future plumbing needs!

Our condo association has recently contracted with Good Plumbing and Four Seasons Plumbing on some emergency plumbing needs. They are responsive and most importantly - provide 24 hour service! Because sewer backups always happen on Sundays or in the middle of the night, right?! My only criticism is that we sometimes have to go back and forth on details due to errors on their part, but they always fix them and do great work. Bill and his team of plumbers have literally saved our plumbing!

Ronnie to the rescue at 10pm at night!  When our sump pump alarm went off, we called Goode and Ronnie came out right away. Sure enough, there was a clog.  I cannot say enough about this company and Ronnie. They are professional, honest and dependable. Our Condo unit will only use them moving forward. They were quick and attentive and a pleasure to deal with. Honestly not a bad word to say about the service or the job they did. I guess I was just a bit shocked at the price - $200 for an easy fix that only took about 25 minutes or so, and for which I had already purchased the supplies (just couldn't get something removed on my own, which is why I ended up having to call). A bit steep, so just a heads up to check on the prices of any jobs they're going to do just to make sure it's in your price range. Otherwise, you're going to get a company that is easy to work with, in my experience.

I was out of town on business when my main sump pump failed during rain and snow melt. My back up took over. The back up alarm went off which alerted my wife that there was an issue.  When she called me it was midnight. I called 3 plumbers all of which were less than interested in my business. I found New Century on  line, called, and Kevin answered right away. We scheduled the repair, he kept me up to date via text knowing I was out of town and had his guy get there pronto. When I got home, everything was done, dry, clean, and all at a great price!!!!

After calling a number of plumbing companies this morning to fix a severe clog and being told that they had no availability or that I would be placed on a waiting list due to the many frozen pipes because of the weather, Good Plumbing promised that they could assist in the afternoon. I called around 3 pm, and the owner of the company Bill, once again echoed that promise. I then called again at 5, 7, 8, and by 10 pm he gave me a final promise and a contact number for one of his plumbers. That plumber also promised to be at my place no later than 11 pm. It is 1 am and the plumber is still not here, after he supposedly left his last job (purportedly 10 min away from my place) an hour ago. I finally canceled the job after being told that he is 30 min away.

During this time I explained to Bill that had he simply informed me from the outset that he would place me on a waiting list (as other places did) but can't promise anything, I would have either moved on to another company or not held him accountable. Yet, he continued to make false assurances. And I fell for it (desperate times I suppose cause one to believe anything, even that the plumbing fairy exists). I have NEVER been misled like this for any services and I feel quite silly for believing that a plumber would actually come by midnight .

I suggest that Bill not promise customers services that his plumbers cannot provide when obviously aware of the time restraints and lacks the capacity to follow through. While Bill offered to give me a 40% discount, it's inconsequential.

I am left with a broken sink and unfortunately the apology is hollow as I did not set up any other appointment because I cannot afford to take another day off. This is service at its worst!

Most absurd business I've ever dealt with. The first time I called, I was told a plumber would be calling me shortly to let me know his availability for the night. 5 hours later, no one had called. I called the service center for a second time, and they sent out an urgent request. No one called me to set up a time. Called the service center a third time, got a different person, who said that she could not make the plumber call me, only pass on a message. ...excuse me? Then why are you in business? I was told I could continue waiting or cancel the service request. Since it could have been days until something was scheduled, I obviously cancelled. Ridiculous.

I found out I had a leaking kitchen faucet on a Saturday afternoon. I called several plumbers and they were the first to respond. 2 hours later the they  promptly arrived at my house on time. They quoted me $201 but they offered a $47 off coupon so I expect to pay $154 to replace my faucet. They  ended up charging me an extra $50 because they had a hard time removing the old faucet. I wasn't happy with the surcharge but I paid it.

The owner of good plumbing contacted me regarding the billing error as they bill by job, not by hour. He informed me that the charge was an error and he promptly refunded the $50 charge, provided a voucher for future services AND apologized for the inconvenience. I never contacted him about this issue. He took it upon himself to resolve this issue. Customer service is definitely important to the owner. I would recommend them,  as well as use them again (although i hope I never have a water problem again LOL) They arrived on time, were knowledgeable and most of all, the owner wants to make sure you are happy. They are honest and fair and  that's important. Their prices are reasonable as well.

These guys were awesome.  We had a bad leak that was going from our first floor bathroom to our basement.  Fast response, a plumber was out here within a couple of hours.  He was able to pretty easily identify a pretty tough problem (corroded pipe in the wall), and saved us a ton of money by not immediately tearing up our tile floor and instead, went to the source in the wall.  We will definitely be calling these guys again!

So if you're expecting a person from Good Plumbing to come out, you may be confused. They sent out a guy from a different plumbing company.  Why, I'm not sure but it is in my opinion that they should be up front about this or at least explain what is going to happen.

Here's my full story:  I made an appointment with Bill from Good Plumbing.  Waited on the day of appointment but since I had heard nothing I decided to give them a call to see if they were still coming.  He had completely forgotten and apologized.  That is fine since he waived the fee for the plumber to come out when we rescheduled (something that he eventually had forgotten he did after the rescheduled appointment by the way...).  I rescheduled for 9am... Bill reassured that he would get it right this time and even offered to make us a priority by stating that he'd get someone out here between 8 and 9.  The plumber called at 8:30 to say he'd be late... he eventually came at 10:10.  Gave me the excuse for his previous appointment taking longer than expected.  Did have an appointment  before 8am?  Did he forget that we were a priority?  Maybe, maybe not, I don't even care at this point.  I was also confused because the plumber ended up being from a different company than Good Plumbing.  Back to the issue at hand... I had a minor leak going on in my bathroom.  We basically just needed to repair the wax ring.  After getting a quote for the wax ring, I decided that the price was too high for me.  What bugs me more is that, after the plumber left, I get a call from Bill.  He tells me he will reduce the price by 25%.  I think to myself, wow that is a big price difference.  I was actually put off.  Why would you quote me a higher price from the beginning?

All in all, after speaking to both Bill and the plumber, this company is unorganized and gives me bad vibes. I did not have any work done with them but have communicated with them as well as had visit for a quote and I would be wary.

My water heater started to leak and needed to be replaced.  Based on Lowes recommendation, I originally tried to get another company to perform the installation.  They botched the job, and I ended up contacting Bill at Good Plumbing.  He was very responsive and helpful.  Bill had a plumber at my home the following day to replace the heater.

These guys did a great job.  I live in a very old building, and the water heater had been retrofitted into a tight closet right next to my furnace.  It was a difficult job, made worse by the old and problematic plumbing in my building.

They did a great job on the initial install, but had to come back the following day to complete the job.  The job couldn't be completed on the first day because of leaky valves in the building plumbing.  Despite the job being more difficult than anticipated, they did a great job finishing the work.  Highly recommended.

Earlier today while cleaning our basement, my wife noticed a significant amount of calcified gunk and a small pool of water on top of our water heater.  After a few minutes of diagnostics (read as: i picked at it a little while then shrugged) I started calling plumbers.  I found Good Plumbing Inc. through a google search after calls to a half a dozen numbers I found here on Yelp.

Brian, the president of the company, answered the phone himself listened  patiently to my rather inept description of my problem and informed me that he'd have to call me back in 5-10 minutes to let me know if someone was available to come out today.  He actually called back... In 5 minutes, no less!  Anyone with a fair amount of experience dealing with business owners in the building trades should recognize what a miracle this seemed to be.

Brian informed me that his guy Kevin would be out to my house within an hour.  Yeah, you heard me, within an hour.  That's right, he was offering to get me a plumber in less time than it takes to get an order of sesame chicken and egg rolls delivered.  You can imagine just how close I was to plotzing when 30 minutes later Kevin called to say that he was about 20 minutes away and how I very nearly wept when he actually showed up in 20 minutes.

As for the actual work, Kevin was a really great and charming guy.   The job was done quickly and professionally, and Kevin cleaned up not only the mess he made, but also scrubbed off the previously mentioned calcified gunk before leaving.  

The price was more than fair considering the quickness with which they responded to our call.

These guys are great!

After calling a number of plumbing companies, I had that stressed  feeling of, crap, I'm going to get ripped off.

Until I called these guys after reading all the yelp reviews...

The gentleman who answered the phone was so helpful and cheery. He informed me of their process and rates and I was sold. So I booked  them and said, send one over!

Unfortunately, I had to cancel last minute because it turned out that a friend of a friend who was a plumber was already on his way!

But I still say 5 stars because I didn't feel like I was going to get ripped off and even when I had to cancel, he was so polite.

My boyfriend and I recently bought a house and needed a new kitchen sink and dishwasher installed.  He and I weren't sure who to call for the installation, so we decided to Yelp it and settled on Good Plumbing.  My boyfriend spoke with the owner, Bill, and quickly made an appointment for the next day.  We were happy with the estimate and the fact that the plumber was able to perform the service that same day.  I will echo what another user said about communication between us and Bill.  He was very quick to take care of us and we enjoyed his services.  Five stars!

UNPROFESSIONAL! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! This is one of the worst guest service experiences I have had to date.

I began my phone call (which costs $99 by the way--I found out when the bill was written out for me) by telling the operator I needed an emergency response if it was possible, and notified them I had an appointment in about an hours time. They told me they would check with their plumbers......

10 minutes later I called back because I hadn't heard from them...

After a long game of phone tag and inaccurate time quotes the plumber arrived over an hour from my initial call. My appointment was missed.

The plumber was about to crack my pedestal sink from the wall until I notified him it was unnecessary and helped him to move the base from the wall so he could reach the piping.

He finished and threw his gloves on the ground! The trash can was right next to the sink. He didn't tidy anything up, or attempt to leave things the way he found them.  

He wrote up the bill and it cost $149. This accounts for:
-the service call which never confirmed a plumber was on the way.
-waiting for over an hour on an EMERGENCY CALL.
-missed calls being returned with multiple failed time quotes.
-the missed time commitment they were notified of when they took the call.
-almost damaging my sink because they didn't know how to do their work with a fairly common sink set-up.
-leaving me a mess to clean up.

This happened December 19, 2014. Almost a month later, I started receiving calls at 7 and 8 in the morning asking me for payment. They only then tried to collect on my card...none of my business why they waited so long, but definitely curious.

They apparently attempted several times because a few days later, the activity showed up on my bank statement. I called back to speak with the manager about my experience, and the person on the phone was argumentative and stubborn. He told me he would take the $50 service charge off and I would only be charged the $99 for taking the call. He also told me his manager would call me, but with no time to expect a call. He rudely and abruptly ended the call.

It has been a couple weeks now, and I have left messages asking for them to call me back. Nothing. This company is entirely unprofessional and cowards for ignoring my phone calls.

So I called with my plumbing issues and talked to the guy (Brian)? and he said that they would been out to fix the pipes as soon as they were done with another job. So I am thinking it was going to be a while. Well really quickly after they came and solved my issue. The were very professional, took care of business, and got out! Always appreciated.

So much so that I called on them again when I had another plumbing issue all together. Again they arrived faster than a delivery pizza!

So glad that I am not waiting around to let someone in and then sit there and babysit wondering if they are actually getting work done.

Would gladly call them again knowing that they are fairly priced, excellent with solving my plumbing issues, and their ridiculously fast response time!

I can't say enough good stuff about Good Plumbing.  They are very professional, courteous and skilled.  

They came out the same day and Jan my plumber went above and beyond the call of duty.  He backed me up when it turned out that I had a defective sink.  It was a slight imperfection in the porcelin not noticable until you tried to put in the drain pipe.  I called the store I bought it from and Jan explained the problem.  

The store owner drove out with a new sink.  After a somewhat heated debate between the two about whether there was a defect, Jan took the time to fit the drain pipe and fitting onto both sinks to show the store owner the slight tilt in the drain pipe when fitted into the current sink.

It should be called Great Plumbing!

We wanted a disposal installed and they sent out Anthony, a nice guy who's been a plumber for a long time.  The underside of our sink was a little tricky but he attacked it with no problem. An hour later and we had a disposal installed and Anthony gave us some tips to keep everything running smoothly.  

I will never go anywhere else for a plumber..

Oh yeah, and after the part was installed, he gave me a business card which is also a coupon for $25 off the next job.  Slick!

Got up at 5 to get to building by 7am. I am not a morning person. Plumber was supposed to be here at 7am to fix water leaking through ceiling.

He never showed up. I called him. No Answer. I called the Express Plumbing number and was told he would figure out the issue and call me back. That was an hour ago. I just called again and they didn't answer the phone.

The guy was apparently nice when he did show up on Tuesday to look at the problem (I wasn't here). He said it was a simple problem and would take 40 minutes. He said he would be back with parts but didn't give an estimate. Nice-ness does not mitigate unprofessional behavior.

I don't mind being cancelled on due to an emergency (I am aware it is pouring buckets out). A cancellation is better than a no-show.

LAST MINUTE edit that added the extra star: Just got a call apologizing and saying that they can't find the person that was supposed to be here. He also offered to send someone else out. Though I had already called another plumber, I do appreciate the eventual call.

However, new plumber came and found a huge leak caused by several issues and as I watched him remove the lead pieces with hugely corroded holes in them, I had to agree.

I called Good Plumbing late at night when with a leak coming through my ceiling. They came out in an hour. They were done in an hour and a half and allowed my landlord to pay with a credit card over the phone. Couldn't ask for better service.. thanks for the quick and great service guys!

Sweet relief!  I think I found a plumber I can trust!  

I called in the morning, talked to Brian . . . he answered the phone, took my info, outlined a plan and let me off the phone.  

Pat and Jeff show up exactly according to plan, assess the 3 issues and make a recommendation.

We have a quick question/answer session; they clearly know their stuff.

They complete the work, charge a fair price and they are off.

How many times has my wife complimented vendors that have come to our home?  NEVER!  Always late, always, difficult, always trying to sell more and more.  Not these guys.  Got a text from wife when they left:  those guys were great, could not have been more professional.  Can't tell you how happy it makes me to have a happy wife.  My wife is actually always happy but I like when she is especially happy.

Couple side notes:

We were prepared to spend more.  Pat and Jeff made it clear they could do more work but it would not solve our pain.  Can't wait to refer these guys.

We were in talks with another plumber in Chicago who has a lot more Yelp reviews and a better ranking:  late, rude, sarcastic, expensive, would ask to call back but did not call back, has a distaste for questions, has a full mailbox on his phone . . . complete disaster.

I typically choose the most stars balanced by the most reviews.  In this case I went with my gut . . . it paid off big time.

As a licensed home inspector who sees a little of the good, plenty of the bad, and a truckload of the ugly, I can personally say I have been impressed with Good Plumbing's work since I live in a home completely plumbed by Brian and his crew from the ground up.  It was not an easy task, either, with several unique fixtures and demands.  That was three years ago and we haven't had a worry since.  Even if we did, I know that Brian and Andy would be all over it like white on rice.

I've referred Good Plumbing dozens of times and they have not let my clients or referrals down which is incredibly important to a guy who lives by referrals.  

Most recently I had them back to install a whole house filter that in itself was a daunting task.  Disconnecting the 1 1/2 main, sweating joints in a tight closet.  It came out beautifully and Jan couldn't have been more courteous.  Keep it gents, my reputation is riding on it!   RN

I'm going to say right up front that I've not used Good Plumbing for a specific service but plan to do so as soon as a need arises.

After a week of trying to diagnose a water heater problem I broke down and called Good based on the Yelp reviews. Brian answered the phone and was straight up about the fact that they don't really do water heater maintenance. He direceted me to Design Temperature for my problem and they were at my house early for a same day appointment. The problem is fixed thanks to the referral from Brian and no one tried to sell me a new water heater that we didn't need.

I found Good Plumbing on Yelp and called when my hot water heater died.  They came out that night and had a new water heater installed within the week.  The plumbers they sent were very nice and professional.  

I also needed a new toilet, as my bowl had cracked.  The toilet they brought out was too big for my bathroom, so they said they would order one and get back to me.  

They never called back.  I have called them repeatedly and gotten different excuses about the toilet since.  They said they didn't have one in stock and would have to order one.  Then 2 weeks later they said they would email me a list of toilets that would fit my space so I could choose one to order;  I never received an email.   This began at the end of August.  I'm writing this on October 1 and still don't have a new toilet or even an appointment.  

I gave them extra chances because I was happy with the work they did for me previously, but I am going with another plumber who has better communication skills.

If Good Plumbing responds quickly, they seem to do a good job.  If they put you off at all, call someone else.  I guess they don't want the business.

Good Plumbing is one of the most professional and quality-driven companies with whom I have had the pleasure to do business. From the initial request for an estimate, to having the leak in my basement repaired, I was impressed with the outstanding service and courtesy I received.

The plumber (Tony) who came out was prompt and polite. He was able to assess the situation immediately and fix the leak at a very reasonable price. In this day and age when it is generally the rule and not the exception for companies to miss scheduled appointments or not return phone calls, Good Plumbing treated me with respect and consideration, and I appreciate the integrity and exemplary manner in which they handled their business.

This was the first time I needed to contacted a plumber, and it was a joy to work with a company that knows the meaning of quality work and efficiency the way Good Plumbing does. I look forward to doing business with them for years to come, and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

This company is totally professional. After waiting a full day, I finally learned that their computers crashed. After realizing from their written log that they missed their commitment with me, they made me a priority the next morning and offered a discount for the oversight  & inconvenience. Ruben was our plumber. He diagnosed the problem in about two minutes and also made another key recommendation that would eliminate another problem down the road. Good Plumbing is our #1 choice for plumbing issues from here on out.

Our business hired Good Plumbing back in January for a large plumbing overhaul which required city permits and effective coordination with our General Contractor. I found their team to be experienced, professional, knowledgeable, and keen on working against a stringent deadline.

When the city plumbing inspector arrived and made some recommendations, both Andy & Brian leveraged their vast experience to resolve the issues head on.

When I have plumbing issues, I dial Good Plumbing's number without hesitation. Way to Go, Good Plumbing - you guys ROCK!

Excellent experience. The day of the appointment, the plumber called to say he'd be there in an hour, and lo and behold he was there in an hour.

He addressed the problem I'd called him for (leaky toilet), and before stepping out to pick up some parts he asked if there was anything else he could take a look at. As a matter of fact, my bathtub faucet was a little leaky too--so he fixed that as well.

Courteous, prompt, effective, and he didn't make me feel like a dolt for not knowing anything about plumbing. Reasonably priced too.

I almost wish something else would go wrong so I could call them again.

Called Good Plumbing on Wednesday morning and they were able to come out on Friday.  Pat called about a 1/2 hour ahead of time as was expected.  Pat and Jeff showed up on time and rodded the kitchen sink drain pipe (was a good clog).  I thought the cost was kind of high ($450 quoted but received the yelp discount so ended up at $403) but I don't know what a good price is for a 30' rodding (heh 30' rodding).  Either way, so far so good.  The sink drains without leaking now.  We'll give it some time and make sure it continues that way and will write back otherwise.

They also looked at the sump pump and confirmed that all was in good condition.

I would recommend them to whomever asks.  Paid by check. Not sure if they take CCs.

Christmas night my dishwasher started backing up.  Monday morning reached out to plumbers through yelp and received a nice steady response of replies, very few contained prices and the ones that did were pretty high.  In the meantime tried some professional drain cleaner, seemed to fix it for a while.  Finally, Wednesday I was willing to admit defeat, this is when I received an email from good plumbing stating he would reduce the price due to him getting back to me a little late.  It was still a little more then groupon or angies list deals but when asked if he could come out today (weds.)  He stated yes.  Dominick showed up around 4 and by 4:30 I had my dishwasher back.  They did a great job, fast, courteous and priced fairly.  If I need a plumber again, I will make sure to call them.

I was initially concerned about Good because their estimate took one third the time of the other plumber I had in to provide an estimate.  I was also concerned because their estimate was about half of the other plumber's estimate and while I like a bargain, I like knowing that the estimate is thorough too.  However, when they arrived to do the work they were prompt, professional, the work was quality and despite having to pay extra for parts that weren't in the quote, I found the pricing fair and competitive.  

There was a mystery leak that appeared under one sink they plumbed, but after pointing it out to them, they were able to diagnose and fix that problem readily and did so without complaint.  I will now be calling Good for my plumbing needs first.

I really wish I had the same experience with Good Plumbing...
The estimate went great, it was pretty clear that [name removed] knew what he was talking about and we thought the price they gave us was fair.

Unfortunately everything turned sour when beginning the actual work. The main problem was TERRIBLE communication. We arranged an appointment to meet the actual plumber on the first day of the work, along with the building maintenance people. [name removed] called 10 minutes before the appointment to let us know that they did not think they needed to be there to meet us (the appt. had been talked about on 3 different occasions). We had driven 45 minutes (we had not moved into our apt. yet) and taken time off of work for this appointment.

Everything kept getting worse and worse. Since the meeting was canceled, we were not able to meet with the plumber before he began the work, and consequently the job was done wrong and our shut off valves were put in the wrong spots (behind future appliances). We were on a tight schedule and had to shut off water for the entire building to start the work, so there was no way to have the valves moved the next day. Now if we need to use our emergency shut off valves we will have to pull out our dishwasher from under the counter to access them.

We explained the technicalities of the job repeatedly (and provided scaled drawings) but were not listened to. Eventually a very bad situation arose when the work was not finished on time and we were not told - they knew the electricians were supposed to start the next day but did not feel it was their responsibility to tell us. Delays happen very frequently with contractors, and we did not mind that the work took longer than estimated, but what was a big problem for us was the way [name removed] talked to us and told us we were crazy to think they would contact us and that we should have a general contractor for the job. My father and step father are architects, and my husband has worked in this field as well - it is obviously unreasonable to think you would need to hire a general contractor for a small kitchen job in a condo building. I doubt all you other Yelpers had GC's for your small jobs, right?

The next day I called to check on the status of the job, since [name removed] made it clear that we needed to chase them down if we wanted to know what was happening, and the conversation did not go well at all causing a very stressful scene.

We really wanted to just stop working with them and forbid them to come to our apartment again but being desperate (and not wanting to be homeless) we had to bite the bullet and let the plumber finish the job.

Both [name removed] and the actual plumber [name removed] were decent to deal with, and we wish we had only dealt with them but unfortunately our experience with Good Plumbing was very stressful and insulting. [name removed] kept criticizing how we were handling our apartment remodel and mentioning they do not like to deal with people who do not have general contractors. Yes this was our first home and it was very overwhelming, but the plumbing was a very small part of the work and it was by far the most unpleasant experience.

This could have been a very simple and pleasant job, and I wish we could leave the 5 stars that others are leaving. We don't think it is unreasonable to show up as scheduled and as discussed (especially when meeting the client, knowing they are going to be late to work for this meeting), and most importantly - let your customer know what is going on with the project!

The name Good Plumbing is actually not a bad description, because our plumber [name removed] actually did nice clean work (except for the initial problem with the valves, which was not totally his fault since he was told not to meet us). However, in a service industry this is one company that has ruined what could have been a good job with incredibly unprofessional customer service.

The Scene:

Washing Dishes on a Saturday Afternoon

Action:

I was washing dishes, and I casually reach under the sink to return the dish liquid.  Drip drip; I had a WTF moment.  I grabbed my flashlight to get a better look;  mold had formed on the wood (of the cabinet that hides the pipes) and the pipe was steadily dripping.  Arrggh, I ran to the computer and immediately searched yelp.  After reading all the reviews, I was sold.  I called and explained, to the owner, the situation.  He informed me that he could have someone out to me on Sunday morning.  I told him that I will call other places to see if they can get someone out to me today.  He responded that he would call me back in 5 minutes.  Barely 5 minutes, he calls me back and told me that someone would be over in 45 minutes.  He called back afterward to mention that the plumber was on his way.  Within 15 minutes of the second call, the plumber (Jimmy) arrived.  He assessed the situation, mentioned something about how the original plumbing was done, and ran to get his tools and parts.  After 20 minutes, the job was done!
I highly recommend Good Plumbing, for both the service and customer service.

I read the reviews on Yelp and I myself was blown away with this company. I called them and they had someone at my house in a hour and a half. I had many bad experiences with plumbers before. I always felt taken to the cleaners and the work/timeliness was always average. This company rules. They came in - identified the problem and fixed it. I had been hearing water running back into the well and my pump was going on and off and making weird sounds. It all took under an hour to replace my failing ejector pump, pipe and stop valve. Their people are professional, fast, timely, knowledgeable and great! I would recommend them highly to everyone.

Update to the review and thanks to Bill for reaching out. After communication issues (wrong email address I understand), my husband got a revised quite back from Good and we agreed to go with them. Their plumber, Paul, was prompt and did both items we asked in the time allotted. We have only been in the house a week (part of the reason for delayed review update) but all is working well. We will definitely be using Good again for our plumbing needs!

I called them three times on three different days to set up an appointment and always received their answering machine, which has a mailbox that was full!!  What kind of business doesn't answer their telephone or listen to their messages?  I decided to move on and am trying other places.

Had two slow draining sinks and a washing machine that had water that trickled in. Joseph was courteous and creative in solving all of my problems. I couldn't use the online Yelp coupon but he offered me a discount for paying part in cash. I appreciated his thoroughness and polite attitude. And I get a future discount on his services. All in all a positive experience.

Bill provided awesome customer service over the phone.  The plumbers came by shortly after with full confidence to get the job done after another company could not.  They knew exactly what to do, what tools to get, and showed me what they were doing the whole time. Thought I got a crash course.  I will def use them again and again for my other properties. They were professional in front if my tenants also. They took the time to hear my concerns and I didn't feel rushed.  I would recommend them.

Hot water heater went out. I didn't have any success lighting it myself. I called Good Plumbing for service,  Dominick came by, the trip fee was free.

But then turned around and  charged $100 service charge to turn a knob and relight it. (I was unable to be there so a friend was there and paid him.) I don't think I would have.

There had to be a reason WHY it went out but he didn't/wouldn't do anything else to find what caused it to go out. Said it would probably have to be replaced.

It went out the next day and he came by, lit it again and told me to call the 800 number on the tank. No charge...Oh thanks!! I didn't have paper work on the unit or where it came from so that was 800 number was no help.

Ended up calling Sears and the tech came by and vacuumed it out, relit it and has ben fine since then.

Also want to mention he had been in the area so we ended up accomadating his schedule so he wouldn't have to make another trip to my area.

I called to recoup maybe half of the cost. Come on? 100 bucks to turn a knob? Very disappointing. I thought it was really bad business. But no one ever called me back to rectify. So beware. Call Sears!!

We called Good Plumbing a few days after moving in to our fixer upper bungalow when the water seemed to be trickling out of our shower.  I called early in the morning and received a phone call a few minutes later setting up an appointment for later in the day.  I told the man who took the call we found them on Yelp and a historic bungalow website and noticed they had a special for July.  I ran off  to work and my husband handled the appointment.
It turns our there wasn't much that the plumber could do expect blow some air in the pipe.  He took off the faucet and tried to move some of the gunk that seemed to be loose in the pipes which took about 20 min.  We now have just enough water for a shower. He told my husband that we would need to bust out the wall and replace the pipes for a true fix.  
We knew that eventually we would need to replace pipes and re-do most of the plumbing, so I understand that he was only able to band-aid the situation.
The cost for the 20 min appt was $245. That was without the Yelp discount of $47. I called two days later to explain the situation and ask about the discount (normally I'm not that cheap but felt that anything would make that $245 feel better) and he said he would check into it and send a check for the discount.  Then I never heard another word...no call back or check. Bummer.
I understand that plumbing may cost more than I expected, but I do expect a business to honor the discounts they place on Yelp or at least follow up with my questions.

I had my waterheater start spouting water out of the bottom and there was no stopping it (at least with my limited plumbing knowledge).  It was after 5:00 p.m. and another plumber I called said they were done for the day and they couldn't help.  I found Good Plumbing here on Yelp and called them.  Brian, one of the owners, answered the phone and said that he didn't have any plumbers that could help me at this time of night BUT he said I can walk you through it so we can stop the water.  What a life saver!  He was super patient as I fumbled around and clumsily followed his great directions.  
Then we scheduled an appointment for the next day, that fit into my schedule.  The plumber who came out was very nice, handy, and tried his best to bring the 11 year old water heater back to life.  Too bad it was too old to fix, but they gave me a good price on my new one, which they installed the next day and when they left, the basement was cleaned better than I would have done.  They also replaced the cruddy old pipes with brand new copper, and removed the random pipes that didn't seem to serve any purpose.  
These guys were great I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

These guys did all my plumbing in my room addition back in 2003. They were very good in getting done on time. I had a minor leak in the bubble tub but they came out and fixed it within 24 hrs. I would use them again.

Our water heater went out....I called Good Plumbing on Friday afternoon because of reviews on Yelp and reach Bill.  I told him the name and model number of the Hot Water Heater we wanted installed and he said he'd get back to me in 30 minutes with an estimate over the phone.  He called and said computers were down and he'd call first thing Sat. AM.  No call by 11 AM on Sat so I called again and spoke with Bill.  He said he would call or email with an estimate within the next hour.  No Call No email so we are going with VANGUARD--also good reviews on Yelp.  Jan came to our house late Friday afternoon, emailed an estimate on Saturday AM when he said he would and will install on MY schedule (Tuesday afternoon).  I wasted time with Good -- INCONSIDERATE, UNRELIABLE -Plumbing Co.

I would recommend this company to anyone!  I called last night at 11 pm, thinking I  had an emergency, and this company was honest enough to tell me that it could wait until the next day (so that i did not have to pay emergency costs).  Further, when they came, they did not create a false problem - they stated what had likely happended and that there was nothing for them to fix.  How is that for honesty?!?!  I wish all service companies could be more like this.

I had received a notice from my management co. that the water was being shut off because another unit owner was having some work done. I was having some issues in my unit so I figured rather than inconvenience my neighbors twice, I'd schedule an appointment concurrrently.

I read the mostly positive reviews, so I called Good Plumbing. A guy answered and asked what the problem was. I started describing and he cut me off mid-sentence and said he'd call me back later. I described the problem and I told him the time frame the water would be shut off. He said his guy would get there as close to that time as he could. I understand that if there was an appointment before me, they can take longer than expected. The guy called about a half hour after the water was shut off asking if there was anywhere he could park. I told him on the street? I do live in an area where street parking is difficult, but not impossible during the day. I got another call from him to confirm the address another half hour later. He had the wrong address!!!! Somebody messed up big time there. It took him another hour to arrive. No way it shouldn't have taken that long.

I explain the problem and he starts to work on it. The problem was worse than I had hoped, but by the time he had finished, the water had been turned back on, so the job couldn't be completed.

He calls the shop to see what I should be charged. $49.00 for the service charge. What? I was told it would be waived if they completed the repair. So much for the $47.00 yelp discount. I ask the name of the company to make the check payable. Four Seasons Plumbing. What? I thought I had hired Good Plumbing.

After the plumber left, I went into the area where the work was performed. He made no attempt whatsoever to clean up. Also, I live in a very old building and the water pressure is not that great. After he was finished, it was even worse than before he started. Much, much worse.

We had a positive experience. Our kitchen sink clogged, and even after removing traps and snaking the pipes, the clog persisted. We searched Yelp! and called Good Plumbing. They were very pleasant and scheduled a plumber early the next morning. Anthony arrived early and quickly routed out the pipes and cleared the clog. He shared some tips on usage and cleaning of our disposal and grease trap. The fee was $247, which seemed a bit high, but the whole experience was very pleasant and our sink was ready for our dinner party that evening.

I called Good Plumbing when my water heater started leaking yesterday. They answered the phone on the first call and were very courteous.  

I had them come out to the place which they did the same day. The plumbers were very friendly and did a nice job with replacing the water heater. They made quick work of what seemed like a big job.

All in all my experience with Good Plumbing was 'Good' and I am happy with the service I got from them...

Good Plumbing did an excellent job installing a water heater and hooking up the water to my refrigerator.  Jan was very nice and professional.  He covered his boots so as not to track dirt into the house.  

The water heater however has not been performing well. The water temperatures fluctuate a lot when the faucets are turned on and then the hot water eventually becomes warm.   The day after it was installed they came immediately and tried to adjust it but the problem was still there.

It took a while for them to follow up but then they analysed the situation and replaced the water heater.  

Since my issues, the person who was responsible for ignoring my problems has been let go.  As I said, the plumber Jan was terrific and the water heater has been working very well for over 1-1/2 years now.

Called on a Tuesday for help with an obstructed bath tub drain.  Jim arrived on Wednesday within 15 minutes of the originally communicated time estimate.  Within 30 minutes, he had repaired the issue (using a vacuum, he removed the ball that my son had drained) and confirmed that the installed drain stopper was the wrong size/model.  He ordered a new one for us and returned the following Monday to install.  In total, we spent $320 on the parts & labor and Jim was in our home for about an hour total between the two visits.  While the price seems a bit steep, we were happy with the service, timeliness and responsiveness.  I would call them again should a plumbing need arise.

My husband and I had a new shower installed recently in our Chicago property. All was fine for awhile, then the shower head started leaking. It became a nuisance. we also noticed we were having trouble getting hot water. Time to call a plumber. We called Good Plumbing on recommendation from a friend. We called on a Wed. and they came out on Thurs. in a timely fashion.  A reasonable quote was given for the repairs. He replaced the mixing valve, put on a new nut on the shower head. Ever since, the shower has been working well. Good Plumbing seems to know what they are doing.

this company is also Four Season Sewer and Plumbing.  They answer the phone with Sewer and Plumbing because there are multiple companies. I needed my water tank replaced, it was leaking, so I didn't want a service assessment fee, when the plumber needed to bring the replacement tank. I did research on various models and determined a Rheem was better than a Bradford White which plumbers prefer to install.  When I called Four Seasons on a weekend which William aka Bill was off, the guy answering  set up an appointment, yet failed to show. The owner, WIlliam, apologized, offered me a discount of $50.  My gut told me to avoid them, so I chose Good Plumbing instead. The plumber was Dominick. Will get back to this whole Four Season/Good Plumbing thing.
Dominick came with a Rheem tank, drained the old tank, there was water on the floor, running to other parts of my basement which he wasn't concerned about.  I wet vac'ed the water. He didn't say he was going to get that, so I assume he would have left the water. There was a problem with the Rheem, the ignition wire was faulty. Dominick did call the Rheem customer service line,  Rheem was going to Fed Ex the wire overnight and have one of their technicians install for free.  Dominick told me he would have to charge if I wanted him to do it, but it was a simple thing that the Rheem people couldn't mess up.  This was on a Monday around 5 pm, so I hoped the wire would get to me Tuesday, then the technician the same day, so I would only be overnight without hot water. I wasn't angry or yelling. Dominick informed me this wasn't his fault and I was the one who chose to go with the Rheem and if I went with the Bradford White, he could have gone to the plumber supply store and get the replacement piece and I would have hot water.
My toilet was running, so I figured he would make an adjustment and fix it.  He replaced the whole flushing mechanism, but gave me a discount. When he gave me the paperwork/bill, the invoice has both Four Seasons Sewer and Plumbing and Good Plumbing on it.  Dominick explained how WIlliam bought out Good Plumbing and kept the number, I mentioned my experience with Four Season, and Dominick said the situation sounded familiar, I bet he was the one who took my call and blew me off. So I used the company my gut told me not to.  I paid $1150 for the tank exchange. This was consistent with other estimates I got from plumbers on yelp. Home Depot sold the tank for $386 plus tax. that is $764 for labor.
    It turned out the wire didn't leave the Rheem factory until 2:30 pm Tuesday, the regular shipment time, Fed Ex did their part and I had the wire on Wednesday.  The Rheem technicians were busy and would not be able to install it until sometime Thursday. This was too long of a wait. I gave a good amount to Good plumbing, seeing this was going to take much longer than I thought, I was hoping they would install this wire without additional charges.  I talked to WIlliam/Bill, who directed right back to Dominick.  He said this wasn't my fault, and I wanted the Rheem, as if this was my fault.  I wasn't as pleasant as I was two days prior. He wanted $99 to come back and install the wire.  Still negotiating, he would be in the area, so reduced the charge to $49.  The water heater works. Now I paid $1200.
  My toilet still runs. This isn't something they could say it was my fault. When I talked to Bill/William, I said maybe the mechanism needs an adjustment, not it was installed wrong.  He told me it would be a $35 service fee to adjust it.  I am reviewing their invoice.  It does not have anywhere on it that their work is guaranteed. It says all materials are guaranteed to be as specified.
 This isn't what you want in a contractor.  They are nickel and diming here, missing appointments, leaving areas messy, no guarantee for labor. You tube doesn't have any videos to help me fix my toilet with this flapper less mechanism, but I ask at the hardware store.
Try someone else on this list.  If they answer the phone, Sewer and Plumbing or anything other than the name of the company, you shouldn't use that company.  Good luck

Bill, the owner, is a great guy and goes above and beyong to make things right.  Although I had an issue with one of the service guys  that came out, long story short, Bill made things right again and reached out to me personally. He seems very fair and I will use them in the future.  It is easy to forget about customer service these days and I was very pleased with how this company handled my issue. I would recommend Good Plumbing to anyone!

I found Good Plumbing on yelp. We needed two toilets replaced.

They were responsive and punctual. The price wasn't higher than what other plumbers offered us.

However, after the toilets were installed  and they left, we noticed that one of them was not stable and was shaky. Turned out they didn't  bother securing it or gluing it to the floor. We called and they came to fix this. After they left I realized they fixed it only for one of the toilets but not for the other.

The plumber's name was Matt. It could have been worse, but next time I will try someone else.

I did Accounting Services as an independent contractor with Good Plumbing, Inc.  The owner, Brian McMahon, refused to pay 4 past-due invoices dating back to 02/2009.  I made many attempts to contact him about this matter, most of which were ignored.  He only responded twice, stating that he would pay the due amount, however he never followed through.  The work was done correctly, on time & in good faith, but as of this writing they are still unpaid.  It has become apparent that he never intended to pay me for my Accounting Services from the start.

Beware of  this company.  Good Plumbing, Inc. is now operating at 800 Roosevelt Road Bldg. B Suite 318, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.

Had to call good plumbing on the fly while staying at my friend's apartment to fix a leak in drain pipe. Gave Good Plumbing a call and could not have asked for better service. The plumber arrived not too long after the call was made and fixed the leak quickly and with efficiency. I would highly recommend Good Plumbing for on the spot  plumbing issues.

Had water pouring through basement ceiling when I ran water in kitchen sink - what a mess!  Called Saturday night, and Paul came to my house within 20 minutes.  He assessed the problem and told me it was a big job, and asked if it was okay if he returned Monday morning (New Years Eve day).  I agreed. Paul was at my door at 8am sharp on Monday and he worked diligently until 3pm.  It was very apparent that he not only knew what he was doing, but took great pride in his (excellent) work. The price was very reasonable.  I will ask for Paul at Good Plumbing for any future plumbing needs - and have already recommended him to several friends.

I made an appointment for today (Monday) for between 8am-9am last week.  No one showed and when I called to follow up the guy who answered, after simply saying 'hello' when aswering a business phone, said he couldn't tell me when or if anyone was coming.  He did say he could get someone out this afternoon, but having already planned and taken time off of work because I had a morning appointment, that was not going to be helpful.

So I called these guys around 2:30 p.m. and asked if they could come fix a clogged bathroom sink.  The guy--Brian, I think he's the owner--said he'd send someone between 3:30 and 4:30.  The plumber arrived early, took a quick look and quoted me a price.  It all happened very fast!  The price was a little more than we were comfortable paying and we declined the service but then the owner called me back and gave us a lower price in exchange for gaining a customer.  I was sold instantly because businesses rarely go out of their way to gain a customer and I am a sucker for great customer service.  I'm the kind of person that uses the same service for years and I will definitely use these guys again.  Oh and Paul was the plumber's name.  He's fast and efficient.

This might be the first time Yelp has let me down! Had an awful experience with Good Plumbing - one plumber had to call in backup to find the clog that we were pointing out to him, then the two of them spent 3 hours wandering around our property. The pipe they finally acknowledged needed to be routed out clogged again 5 weeks later and we couldn't get someone to come back out and take care of it. Many phone calls and arguments ensued with owner Andy. Would never use these guys again.

So I called here and was told they would send someone out to give us a free estimate to fix our toilet.  That same day a man shows up from the company and as he's coming up the steps, he is staring obviously and awkwardly at my legs the whole time I almost didn't want to let him in my house.  I take him back to the toilet and without even looking at it, touching it, flushing it, he quotes me 245.  I told him he didn't even look at it and he says to me I look at these things every day.. Then why the heck do you come to my house, wake my daughter up from her nap, stare disgustingly at my legs, and then quote me for something you haven't even looked at?  The price seemed ridiculous and even if I were going to pay it, I would have still sent him on his way without doing anything bc of his arrogance and creepy looks.

I called Good Plumbing because of their positive reviews on Yelp and I was not disappointed.  They were very friendly and clear on the phone, they showed up on time (early!), they did a great job, and they charged less than I expected based on other plumbing companies I had called.  I will definitely call them again with any plumbing issues.

When I dropped a PedEgg into a flushing toilet, little did I know what a huge headache I had caused.  After trying out coat hangers, super grip gloves, and even some large forks, I knew I needed to call.  After finding such great reviews on Yelp, I called Good Plumbing right away.  
    My call was answered within a few rings and I was told the plumber would call me back within 15 minutes.  In about 5, my plumber called and said he would be there right away.  He came with a partner in tow and proceeded to struggle for well over an hour to rid my toilet of the egg.  Unfortunately, the design of the egg fit perfectly into my undersized toilet and no hand could free it.  After dismantling the toilet completely, our plumber would not give up.  We knew a new toilet might be in the cards, but both men kept trying to clear the toilet.  Finally, determined to break either the egg or the toilet, they were victorious.  The egg popped out as easily at it had popped in and we were saved hundreds of dollars by keeping our toilet in one piece.       Aside from their quick service and obvious determination to solve the problem, the men of Good Plumbing were kind and knowledgeable to boot.  They even recommended some things for our landlord to fix with our toilet and sink.  If we ever have another plumbing nightmare again, I wouldn't hesitate to call the guys at Good Plumbing again!

The folks at Good Plumbing are great!  They're courteous and professional, both on the phone and in person.  They gave me an appointment right away and the plumbers who came out were great.  After I showed them the plumbing issues, they explained what they would do and the cost involved.  They went above and beyond to get the sink faucet that I wanted.  They worked efficiently (even though my condo was sweltering!) and even cleaned up when they were done.  Great customer service and friendly, professional plumbers--highly recommended!

We had a bad experience with Good Plumbing. They replaced a bad kitchen sink pipe with the wrong part, sawing it in order to make it fit. The new pipe ended up corroding and leaking after a few months. We called to have them return and fix the problem, but the voice mailbox was full for weeks and the company did not respond to emails. Very disappointing.

Subsequently received a follow-up call from the owner who was concerned and seemed very on top of things. Although it was just a leaky faucet, their estimate is likely in line with most plumbing services. I didn't use them but was impressed with the customer service follow up.

I spoke with Andy on the phone and he was very knowledgeable and helped diagnose the problem over the phone.  He sent out a plumber (Jan) the next day and Jan was able to fix all of my plumbing issues (new kitchen faucet which also increased pressure, routed the bathroom sink pipes which have fixed that clog, and also installed a new shower head which gives me more pressure in the shower.  Jan was very courteous and honest with the costs and did a great job.  I would definitely use Good Plumbing again in the future.

I had used good plumbing to take care of a property I used to manage and was always happy with the work they did as well as my tenants were very pleased. But I was very impressed when I had them come out to my own place for what I thought was going to be a nightmare. The plumber that was sent was courteous and very experienced. He had everything on his truck. None of that I'm going to have to order that crap I've heard before. I'm redoing my bathroom soon and I already know who I'm calling when it comes time for the plumbing work.

VERY fast service.  I called and they were here within the hour.  I had called another service and they called me back AFTER the job had already been performed by Good Plumbing!  I also liked that the plumber showed me the parts that he was removing and the parts that he was going to put in place.

Good Plumbing inc did a great job on a residential call recently.  They answered my initial call after work hours, and were quick to schedule.  Pat the plumber called the day of the appointment, did the work promised in a timely manner, and was professional and courteous.  I would definitely recommend Good Plumbing Inc to anyone.

Good Plumbing Inc was very helpful and accommodating. When I called for them to come and fix our clogged sink, they were able to come out the same day, and Paul was nice and helpful. The only thing that wasn't great was that they said they'd be here in ab hour and it was actually 2 hrs later when they showed up, which was then after COB time. It worked out fine though and now the sink works smoothly!

Yelp to the rescue again!  They did a solo trip to the downtown to fix our toilet. A pulley in the toilet was rusted and flap valve was broken. I called them in the morning and they came out the same day in the afternoon on time. Charges were reasonble and I also received a small discount for going through Yelp. The nice thing is that this company runs on a strong work ethic, quality service and customer loyalty...the way good business should be done.

I called this company and was pleasantly surprised. Had a major issue with our toilet and the people that already came said it would cost around 2 to  3 grand to fix the issue. On top of that we already paid for the equipment that they had to rent to come to such a conclusion. Not willing to rip apart the whole bathroom I called and was treated with great customer service over the phone. Dom came on Monday and before doing a thing he spoke with about the situation and surveyed the situation. After 5 minutes he suggested before touching anything to look at the sump pump. And low and behold there was the problem. He attempted to fix the problem giving me tips along the way if it were to fail on me in the future. After several attempts it was clear I needed a new sump pump which he gave me an estimate for. He then was kind enough to show me some other tips on some faucet concerns I had for free. He was kind, informative, and polite. He really represented the company well. I will definitely use them for all future needs as should you.

Had a bad experience with this company.  It started out fine - called and scheduled an appointment to look at our sump pump in our basement that seemed to not be working properly.  A team of two guys came out and looked at it and seemed to diagnose the problem quickly - we needed a new pump.  Quoted about $800 for the whole deal, and they got to work.  Once they were about finished, one of the guys came to tell us that what we really needed was a $4000 pump system.  No explanation for why they came up with this after having already installed the $800 fix they had diagnosed to begin with.  That should have been our first indication.  We told them we'd think about it and sent them off.  After trying to communicate with them via email to find out details, we discovered the real problem.  They stopped responding to our emails asking detailed questions about the pump we DID have installed (ie model name/number/etc).  We felt they were only interested in selling us the $4000 fix.  After having two other companies come over, both of whom said the $4000 option was definite overkill for our situation, we are obviously going to not be using Good Plumbing again.
