I was recommended to Duplex for my home electrical needs by a long-time friend who is an industrial electrician as the company my friend uses for his home needs. Greg and Steve at Duplex where terrific and fixed my complicated electrical issues in my old home.  I was impressed with their practical approach, as they explained what was needed for life safety and what was an optional fix if I wanted to save money.  They truly understand their craft and put customers first.  They are also extremely reliable with scheduling, which can be rare in the repair and maintenance industry. I replaced many outlets in the house and it turned out that I installed something wrong. As the result, some lights and outlets stopped working. I was really worried that the problem may cause danger. I called around and finally got Jeff to help me immediately. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. He helped me identify and fix the problems right away. In addition, he helped me examine all the outlets that I replaced and fixed some problems there. Finally, he helped me replaced two ceiling lights, two outside wall lights, one CGFI outlet, and one fire alarm. He is very patient and nice to work with. He helped me with many tasks beautifully.

Everything went well. I am very happy with his work and attitude. I would definitely call him again if I need help with electricity in the house.

I am so glad that I found David on YELP. I read the reviews and contacted him through an e mail on his website. He replied immediately and I set up a date for him to come and give an estimate. He was on time and not only gave a very reasonable estimate but was able to stay and do the job. He spent over 3 hours at our house and we love the results. Had a great experience with Randal Electric. I'm selling my condos in Chicago and some very minor electrical work popped up on the home inspection report. I called a few different electricians on Yelp in the area and a lot hung up on me because my request was too small for them to set an appointment. I communicated with Randy what I needed to be done and he was confident that it would be a quick and easy fix, plus he'd be able to put me down for an appointment the next morning. Eddie was my electrician who was right on time this morning. He was polite and professional and after he was finished with the breaker he even asked if he could review the home inspection report to make sure everything needing an electricians attention was covered. I appreciate honest businesses in home services. While searching for electricians I ran across CR Electric and they tried to upsell me on an entire new panel a 4-6 hour job that would have been unnecessary and over the top. Eddie was able to make the breaker safe and eliminate the double tap breaker installed by a 10+ year old alarm system company that I never used in 7 years of owning the property. I'm glad I called Randal Electric and if I need electricians for the next 4 condos about to go on the market I know who I'll be calling!

Edwin is responsive, friendly, and solved our electrical issue promptly. He also installed electric to our deck. Highly recommend.

Where shall one begin? This was the question that plagued myself when searching for an electrician and now has beset once more. In the latter case it is about how to describe the immense work ethic, professionalism and unfathomable attention to detail that these electricians possess. As a matter of course one should assume to be nervous while having others check and repair a utility that has the potential for catastrophic consequences if done incorrectly, but in this case, that anxiety was relieved as soon as I witnessed the replacing of a single electrical receptacle (outlet), deservedly so since about 20 more needed replacement and/or repair. The attention to detail and most importantly, safety that was undertaken when doing the work, was carried out so eloquently, so refined, so meticulous, yet at such an impressive speed was truly a conglomerate of qualities that no other contractor or tradesmen could possibly hold, at least not in my experiences (especially having worked in trades). This was the real deal and so very comforting due to the age and condition of the amateur endeavored wiring practices in my home from previous residents that could only be described as a patchwork of old and barely useable to ancient and likened to a powder keg with a lit match on the rim. Electrical work is absolutely not my first 'rodeo', I do know quite a bit and the parts that I didn't, were refined by being privy the sheer and unadulterated professional installations by these guys, as well being shown technique to improve my own electrical work. In essence, I know what faulty, shoddy work is, and the work done, namely by Erik, and Homer, is the opposite. For lack of better terms the work was; top notch, dead on, perfect in every possible way! The only thing that was better were the rates for the volume of work (whole-home and garage device replacements). I can sleep at night knowing that my building will not perish in flame, nor myself in my sleep due to the absolutely top quality work done by these men (especially Erik). I am still astounded that I actually found honest contractors who stuck to quote, were really reasonable in cost, and best of all did the work with integrity and pride and even arrived before they were due, very likeable and courteous as well. No shortcuts, no trickery, just quality and solutions. If you are in need of an electrician, there is absolutely no other choice. You will absolutely not find better. I worked in trades and I couldn't, until now.

Exactly what I expect from a contractor. When I told them I had issues with doors not closing properly because they weren't tight enough on the hinges, they didn't go to extremes that other contractors have in the past that were a lot more expensive. The provided an easy fix that was quick, inexpensive, and fixed it right.

Always on time, clean too. They have been saved to contacts in my phone and they will always be used in the future for my house and rental property.

The first snow of the year was very heavy.  Add to that there still being leaves on trees and you have a weighted disaster just waiting to happen.  As what happened to me.  Our lovely neighbor's rather large tree branch snapped off taking with it our power lines and electric box.  It proceeded to land and break our fence.  Power lines were exposed and therefore deemed unsafe.  Electricity was to be shut off immediately by Comed.  We would need an electrician to fix said box and line.  Apparently this was happening all over the neighborhood, so electricians were in high demand even as I proceeded to call local ones recommended to me by Yelp.  No answers or not available were my results.  That is, until one referred A to Z.  They sent out a nice gentleman by the name of Barry and he was there within three hours of my calling.  He was very courteous and professional.  I'm unsure how his rate compared to others, but desperate calls call for desperate measures.  We already knew we would have to use our insurance deductible to get everything fixed so after consulting with our insurance and receiving their approval we hired them.  They were supposed to come later that afternoon, but the electrician got stuck on the South side.  We were to then spend a fabulous night before Halloween with no heat or electric until he was to come the next morning.  This wasn't their fault, but for a pretty penny I was hoping they would still arrive as soon as they could that day.  At any rate, the next morning 3 staff members arrived and got to work.  I missed my daughter's Halloween party while they were here, but so be it.  Electricity was needed.  One of their staff seemed a little strange, but the other two were sweet enough.  My power was eventually restored and Halloween went on as planned.  I really wished I didn't have to deal with A to Z, but that's what happens in an emergency.

Called for a big job, replacing kitchen and bathroom wiring. He was late to the quote and no-call, no-show for the actual work. I called him to ask how far away he was and he said he forgot about it and can he come the next day instead.

I called these folks to come help me with a project when I got 3/4th in and couldn't figure it out. They were able to schedule a time the next day (!) and they showed up right on time, got done in 30 minutes, and did everything I needed. Professional and competent. Can't ask for more than that! Nino and Andrew were good guys, and clearly knew what they were doing. Much appreciated! I'll definitely be using Fixer in the future.
