Best Electricians in Chicago, IL

Needed 3 dimmer switches installed - $30 total.  Didn't charge by hour (most electricians I called wanted $125/hour.  They just cut me a fair deal and even picked up the parts I needed for lower price better than Home Depot was charging.  These guys were great, highly recommend.  Great Value.

I cannot speak more highly about Vlad who came out to provide consulting about a recent electrical project.  He was very insightful, knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this company, especially if Vlad is the technician sent for the job. Thank you again!

Could not say enough great things about Milan at MD Advanced Electric. Hired him to hardwire my pool pump. I kept getting delays in my pool install, and Milan was super flexible. The day he came out to do the work, it was well over 100 degrees with the heat index. Milan got all the work done quickly, and even took the time to show me that all the safety aspects of the install were working.

Would absolutely hire again!

I just called this company as they were one of the ones I was referred to through homeadvisor. Just odd, I simply ask if they do work on mobile homes as far as installing a faucet. He said that mobile homes are sort of out of their jurisdiction as far as plumbing but they do work in single family homes. We have an estimate for the faucet install from another company so I was just curious. I see on their website they do all sorts of handyman services so I ask about possible other jobs as far as that but I did say the faucet install was what we needed now. He said no they really don't work on mobile homes but what's odd is he goes this is such a strange request was no big deal just a question, I was only talking to him for less than a minute. Very strange lol

I wish I could give Bright Electric 10 stars.  We've used them (and Elton) for 2 jobs now in the process of moving in to a new home and had 2 very different experiences, but both were very positive.

First, when selling our townhome, the buyer requested a necessary change to the wiring and breaker for our A/C.  Previous to this, we weren't aware there was an issue, but committed to fixing it.  I contacted Elton via e-mail and described the issue and sent pictures.  He gave me a run down of his costs and a general estimate range.  He was on time and worked quickly, while still explaining everything and ensuring that we had the documentation necessary for our buyer.  Then he managed to come in at the low point of the estimate.  It was such a good experience we wanted to use him for some electrical issues at our new house.

So when I spoke to Elton concerning our new home (detached single) I indicated that there were several outlets that needed to be changed to GFI and 3 lighting fixtures I wanted to replace, but also said I was considering additional outlets in the kitchen and wanted to get an indoor switch installed for one of the outlets for outside the house that had to be replaced.  Elton came out and not only gave us a reasonable estimate, but also walked me through all of the electrical aspects of my current house so I'd know more about it.  Since it was going to be a short job (4 hours or less) and a very reasonable price, we decided to let Elton do the work.

This job turned out to be way worse than projected, through no fault of the estimate.  Once the previous light fixtures (installed by the previous home owner) were removed, it was discovered there would have to be some major issues corrected to get the new lights installed up to code.   This took several hours and additional materials more than what was originally estimated.   Then when installing the GFI outlets (about 9 total, I think) one outlet turned out to be very tricky.  The lights look great, the switch is great, the outlets look great, and Elton stayed with us until 9:30 at night to get the job done.  There was some additional charge for the extra time and material, but it was nowhere near what the cost should have been, because Elton didn't want to charge us way over what was estimated.  We paid a little more than was asked because that was still a discount over what we could have been charged and because we felt bad.  We got a walk through of all the work done and how everything would work moving forward.  If we ever have additional electric work to be done, I will be contacting Bright Electric and would recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, hard-working electrical contractor.

Can't say enough about this father and sons team.  They were on time, professional and respectful.  They did an amazing job at an unbelievable price.  I highly recommend them!

Gino is very responsive on the phone, and that gave me a lot of confidence that there wouldn't be any gap in communication.

Santiago did a fantastic job patching drywall in three units of our condo building. He was on time, and a fast and conscientious worker, and was happy to communicate status whenever asked.  He even was willing to touch up the paint on the wall of one of the patch jobs, and that wasn't in the estimate.  (We didn't have the paint, though, so oh well.)

Based on reviews from others, I guess they may be good. But in my case it did not go well at all from the start, or I should say it did not even start. We have small but multiple lighting and rewiring projects to be done at my residence and asked them for an estimate. They responded my online inquiry promptly and asked more information including taking pictures, which was the first week of September. After a few days of no action,  I asked for update on estimate, and the office manager responded and said to me it would take two-three weeks because they have to sort out their October scheduling at that point. I simply trusted her words and waited for two weeks, but no response. I again contacted them to see what's going on, and they said they were going to look at it. A week past after that and again no response. Finally I told them its has been almost a month since I asked for estimate, and now the owner replied that he would look at it. As of today, there has been no response since. They just lost a potential customer that was ready to hire, who was even considering them for future projects we have been planning. It is unfortunate because most of reviews here are good, which was the mainly reason I waited for such long period to just get an ESTIMATE. It would have been nice if they let us know our projects are too small for them and they would not take it, rather than leaving a potential customer high and dry.

Wow!  Added 3 surface mounted spots in the ceiling and a wall switch in our 100+ yr old house in Wilmette. Zero mess. Nothing to paint or patch. Ryan arrived - covered everything with tarps - neatly laid out all the tools and parts needed, consulted on location with my wife and finished before 3pm. Could not be more satisfied.

Josh is a great electrician - and a nice guy! He promptly responded to our request, arrived right on time, and did an excellent job. All of this, and at a pleasingly affordable price. I'm extremely satisfied. If I need additional electrical work in the future, I'm definitely using him again.

Called and they came within a 1/2 hour! Fixed our problem, were honest, professional and courteous. I would recommend them for any electrical issues you may have.

I called and spoke with Gabe who asked to call me back in an hour, 48 hours later I have yet to receive a callback or a text.

Very satisfied! Called, got my appointment same day as he was willing to come in the evenings to accommodate my schedule.  Electrician replaced my light fixture without charging any extra for extra parts and from the hourly rate he had quoted which was VERY reasonable.  Overall, couldn't have worked out any better.
