Stefan was great. He responded very quickly and got me a quote without too much back and forth. He got the work done the same day and followed up quickly when I flagged an issue after he left. I am so glad I called him!

Darrell was the answer to my prayers! I own an old building and had a major leak that no one could figure out the cause of. And then along came Darrell and Sims and Sons. After a year of run around it was finally corrected properly. Next we had an old outlet short out. Once again Darell came to the rescue and fixed it. He showed me how a previous handyman had Jerry-rigged the wires and what needed to be done to turn it into a safe, permanently working outlet. I trust Darrell and am so grateful to have found someone honest! I have since had him out to my home, another old quirky building, for both electrical and plumbing issues. I can highly recommend Sims and Sons!

Super nice and professional. I live an an older condo building, and my unit had an old fuse panel (with actual fuses). Marcus was very prompt on all his visits, and made sure I understood exactly what they were going to be doing. They never once lost patience with all the hoops I had to jump through with my condo management office. The work was competed on time, and they respected the construction time in my building. The workers were very polite, and all of the work looks amazing. I highly recommend

His prices were reasonable and we were able to get scheduled within a few days. He and his team did high quality work very efficiently. We'll definitely call him next time we need electrical help!

Hm.  I'm not sure if this company ever served me, but I ended up in a spot on the Yelp website where I had to leave a review or at least stars... so 5 stars or zero stars?  I'm more of a five star person, so there you go.

I contacted Ryan after running into a problem installing a new light fixture.  I reached out late Saturday morning and he was here by that afternoon!

He was kind, and professional and even took the time to explain to us where the issue was with the existing wiring (even though I'm sure it was obvious it mostly went over our heads). In no time he was at work putting in the new fixture while chatting with my husband and myself and even getting in a few pats on the head for our very eager puppy who was so excited to have someone new in the house.

When all was said and done we had a safely wired, fully functional light fixture in our living room much more quickly than I had anticipated. His pricing was fair and as he left my husband and I breathed a sigh of relief that we had finally found an electrician nearby that we feel we can count on for any future needs.

I would happily refer anyone looking for an electrician to Ryan.

During the excavation work as part of our pool project, the electrical feed from the house to the garage was severed.  The concrete was going to be poured in 2 days, so I had to have the electrical work done quickly.  Boz came by within an hour to assess the situation.  He sent me a fair quote that night.  His team, including Rolando, came the next day and worked in parallel with the concrete team.  They finished the job in 2 hours.  Amazing service!

Rogelio did a good job on our building. Repaired some outlets, in the apartment, garage, and outside of the building. He shared photos of his progress. We talk over the phone to clarify details and got a quote on the spot for additional work that was necessary and was finished the same day after getting the parts needed.
He is also bilingual, what helps communicating easier for a larger population group.
All good overall.

Wow! We are so happy with our experience with Tweaks & Finishes.  Jose and Rodney were excellent communicators from start to finish. They listened to what we were hoping to achieve, gave their suggestions, worked speedily but with great precision, and made our place look fantastic!

We had everything from electrical to painting done in our condo, and it all looks and works spectacular. We will definitely be using their services again and HIGHLY recommend them!

Neville and his team are amazing! I cannot recommend them highly enough. We went through 3 electricians before I found Blacklite online and Neville was the only one who was able to fix our issue. First, we had a problem with our dimmers which caused some of our overhead lights to flicker. They fixed it right away and Neville even stayed longer to help repair the messy job left by the previous electrician.

Next, they installed the Doorbird doorbell system which was a complex process due to our previous system setup and a faulty device that I had received from Doorbird. Neville reached out to the company personally to try to resolve the issue and he kept me in the loop via text throughout the process. I could tell he cared about getting the job done right and I appreciated the extra time he took (off the clock) to make it happen. Get it done right the first time and hire these guys!

Tom and his crew do such great work! Highly recommend them. They installed 4 outdoor outlets in our yard and also trenched wires underground so they were no longer exposed to the elements. They were on time, flexible, and just care about doing the job right. Tom is a really nice guy who walks you through all the work ahead of time. Don't hesitate to reach out to him!

Alex responded to my posting quickly, was clear on costs, and came out at 8am the following day as promised. I gave wrong information on parts and he was ready with solutions to salvage the job and gave great advice. Would definitely hire again.

I have used Fixer twice for various jobs around my new home. I had two Fixers come each time, and each time I found the Fixers to be easygoing and pleasant to work with. However, I have found the work quality to be hit or miss (I had to have a job done by the first set of Fixers re-done by the second set of Fixers) and I struggle with the business model. Because they charge by the hour, there doesn't always seem to be a real incentive to work quickly. The second go-round, I was initially charged over $900 for, essentially, hanging towel bars, hanging pictures, and installing several plant hooks in the ceiling.

Second, most things are automated and you have to be careful about the billing process. The first time I used them I was sent a bill for a service that wasn't performed because the Fixers were running behind and ended up not being able to do the work that day. Still, I received a bill. The second time, I received a bill that was not adjusted for the picture frame one of my Fixers inadvertently broke after she hung it incorrectly. Both times, the issues were resolved after I emailed and texted with the company (phone calls don't even seem to be an option), but if I'd had a credit card on file, I assume I would have just been charged automatically, and I had to be proactive about addressing problems that weren't of my making.

I appreciate the convenience of the service and I'm willing to pay a bit more for a company that pays its people well--assuming that's what it does. But between the excessive expense and the various issues I've had with billing, workmanship, and timeliness, there won't be a third try for me. Good luck ya'll.
