Had flooding in the basement yesterday and called rescue from their yelp reviews.  They were at my house within 2 hours. Ended up being a broken ejector pump that they replaced on the spot and kept everything very clean.  Great guys, prompt and clearly very experienced.  Will definitely use them again and recommend.

Our toilet flooded in the middle of the night on a Sunday. I didn't want to risk serious water damage, so I did a quick search & found fast response from Discount Plumbing. I requested a quote on yelp and they responded within minutes & they said a technician can come out & gives me a FREE quote with no obligation. They arrived in minutes and my toilet soon was able to flushing like it was brand new! I appreciate them walking in with booties and walking me through the whole process & answering my questions. Scotty is great! He's always arrived on time and is very communicative. I was making some updates to my kitchen and needed him to install a new sink. He even advised on the size of the sink (he was familiar with my kitchen from a previous visit) and suggested a company to purchase the sink from since I was having trouble finding what I wanted at Home Depot and Lowes.

I can't begin to thank Joseph enough for all the great work he did today! Our water heater decided to go on strike sometime last night and my husband and I were grumpily forced into cold showers this morning.

We did try some of our own research and trouble shooting to no avail and gave up an hour later. The first plumber we called couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone, so we next tried Rocket. They answered immediately and said they could have someone out that afternoon.

Joseph absolutely saved us and was a pure delight to have in my home. He was even extra early to the appointment, which was perfect! He listened to us, talked us through everything, gave us a quote, and then in no more than 20 minutes had the water heater back up and running. He was even kind enough to look at my leaky garbage disposal and fixed that in 30 seconds. He answered all of my questions with the patience and understanding of a saint, and made recommendations for future appliance purchases (the brand he has in his own home). I couldn't ask for more in a plumber.

Wow! I found Windy City yesterday on Yelp and called. The owner called me from his vacation in Mexico to make sure what I needed done and assured me it would be taken care of TODAY.
Robert came today and called me several times while doing the job on this rental unit. What a nice, courteous man.
I will use them again and have actually put them in my file as the plumbers to use on this building.
As far as I am concerned...JACKPOT! Customer service plus....

As usual, I wait until the last second to do any home repairs and this was no exception. I had the day off the next day and hoped to get some work done. I emailed Eugene through Yelp and received a response almost immediately. Not only is he a smart, super nice guy but he texted me that he was available the following day! He came over, assessed the situation and just got the work done on the spot. Really reasonably priced, fast and just good natured. I would use Eugene and First Chicago Plumbing again in a second. Really great resource to have for the future. Thanks again!

Great work again from Sound Plumbing. We needed some fittings replaced on our service lines and the work was done well and promptly. I will use them again.

Very professional, prompt and clean work. I chose this company after contacting several places for estimates to replace a water heater. They were very accommodating and allowed me to choose the water heater of my choice with the help of their expert advice. I feel they did a great job efficiently and thoroughly.

UPDATED 8/26:

The owner of this company, Jesse, called me to apologize on behalf of the contractor who charged me for not doing anything. He confirmed that the initial consult from Captain Rooter IS free, and promised to issue a refund. Removing one star due to the earlier experience, but adding three to my overall rating because it meant a lot to me to get that call. If I end up using their services for another project that goes well, I'll update this again to reflect that.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:

I've never left a bad Yelp review (it's true, check my profile), but I want to warn people because I hate contractors that do this (and Captain Rooter said on the phone that they were different). I woke up to a very loud persistent jackhammer type sound coming from the bathroom around 4AM. It eventually stopped an hour or so later, but it was alarming enough that I called Captain Rooter's 24/7 line during the chaos and booked a 9:30AM consult, which I was told was free.

The guy arrived this morning, and looked into the toilet tank (I had removed the lid already). He then diagnosed it as trapped air in the pipes and said there wasn't really anything to do. He said if it happens again, it's a whole building problem and I should contact building management. He then said I owed him $125 for coming out, but if I had $50 in cash he would take that instead to save me some $$. I don't have cash on me, and said I didn't think there was a charge. He said he would call the company and I could Zelle them. The lady on the phone was like, Yep, there's a $185 service fee, here's where to send the payment -- when I corrected her and said that the plumber had said $125 she went, Oops, yes, it's a $125 service fee if he touched anything. At this point, I have been on the phone paying longer than the plumber looked at anything.

I paid, he left. But I feel really taken advantage of. Being a solo female homeowner is a privilege, but it also sucks, because contractors see you as just someone to charge $125 for two minutes of no work for during a free consult.

We were having some electrical issues so I called Sims and owner Darrell himself was at our home within an hour! He diagnosed the problem and quickly and efficiently fixed it.  He is super knowledgeable, transparent, personable, and follows Covid safety protocols. From now on Sims will be our go to electrician.

Chris came exactly on time to fix a clogged drain in our bathroom sink. He did the job quickly and charged a very fair price for his work. I would highly recommend ABV and definitely will use them again.

Working with CJ plumbing was great. Dmitri was very responsive for setting up an appointment and helped me pick appropriate parts.

Lenny came out to our place to install new fixtures in a shower. He showed up on time and completed the job in a timely manner. Altogether a great, professional company.

I did the Yelp thing where they send out requests for quotes to a few vendors and Mike replied right away, and once I had a chance to call him he was able to get to my place about an hour later and fix my kitchen water pressure and connect the water line to my refrigerator. Mike was cool and personable and obviously good at what he does, and the price was fair and in line with a couple other guesstimates I had looked at. A good experience overall and I will call him first next time I need a plumber.

A&Y was the first to respond to my request for a quote (to replace one toilet and repair another) and gave me what I felt was a good price. Juan and his assistant showed up in less than one hour and performed all necessary work very efficiently and with no surprises. They cleaned up after they were done and I couldn't have asked for more. They are now my go-to plumbing company. Highly recommended.

Contacted Noel on the weekend to see if he can replace two faucets on Monday and he come over a did a fantastic job.  We will call him again.  Thank you Noel!
