Howard Simons is brilliant - not to mention very kind. I had been told by 2 other electricians that my outdoor light fixtures needed to be completely replaced - that the wiring was burnt out and useless. I put off replacing them for a few months and in the meantime, other electrical issues arose throughout my house (bathroom outlets and outdoor outlets). Based on all the excellent Yelp reviews, I thought I would give Howard a try -- thank goodness I did. He showed up on time and worked for several hours. I kept popping my head outside thinking he must need something, but all I saw was Howard going in and out of his truck completely immersed in his work. He not only fixed what I had been told was impossible, he saved me both my time and money by not having to replace light fixtures that he was able to repair! His work did not stop there...he stayed to answer all my questions on exactly what was done, and explained how he fixed things. Howard Simons clearly knows his stuff, enjoys his work and is simply a very nice man! Thank you Howard!

Five stars to North Shore Electric for integrity and good customer service! I recently purchased a ceiling fan for my home, expecting a contractor to install the fan. Unfortunately, the member of the contractors' staff who was supposed install the fan had a family emergency so was unable to do the job. Then, I spotted a North Shore Electric truck at a neighbor's house. I asked the electrician if he could install the fan. He quickly came over and worked diligently to install the fan. Unfortunately, after several attempts -- and quite a bit of effort on electrician's part -- it became apparent that a wiring issue in my nearly 100-year-old home made it impossible for the fan to function properly. The electrician, who was hard-working, neat and courteous, and helped me identify some possible approaches to rewire the house - but didn't charge me for the failed attempt at installation. I would definitely call North Shore Electric for help on a future project and happily pay them for successful work. I recommend North Shore Electric.

Goran arrived on time, identified and addressed the issue while on site, and had the best rates of anyone we found in our service area. Two thumbs up!

I am a huge fan of Small Tyme Electric. I manage a few properties throughout Chicago and I have used them every time i needed anything done. Wether it's some minor updates or a complete remodel. Norh Is an amazing person. Such a pleasure to work with. I always have the worst luck when it comes to contractors so when I find a good one I hold on and don't let go. I'm willing to share with you as I want to keep him working for years to come so he's always there when I need him!

We have a new go-to electrician. Mike is extremely responsive and detailed in his communications. He agreed to help install a new light switch for my elderly aunts. (It turns out, they are neighbors!) Unbeknownst to me, a caregiver fixed the light before Mike even got there for the appointment. Instead of being annoyed, he double-checked the work and made a change to make sure it was safe. He did not take any money from my aunts, and instead gave them a card and reassured them if they had questions or problems, they could call him. Kind, honest, conscientious and detail-oriented. Had a great experience setting up two outdoor security cameras with Jaime and Adrian's help. They were able to fit me in on short notice. I very much appreciated how communicative the team was. Jaime called me when he was a few minutes away, checked in with questions during the job to be sure it was satisfactory, and made sure that I was aware of their progress when it looked like they needed more time than originally anticipated. While my total cost was a bit more per hour than I had been quoted by others, having two guys come (versus one) likely did make a difference in how quickly they got it done. Looking forward to having them back.

Sam came to my home to add a 220 line for a hot tub I had installed.  the work was impeccable and he took the time to explain things, did my special requests, and even came back to hook up the hot tub after they delivered it as part of my job. he is very reasonable and quick to respond.

Eddie helped me install some z-wave 3 way switches.  What a lifesaver-- those things don't play well with LED floodlights we found out.  We got it working eventually.  Very professional would use Eddie for any electric job!!
