For residential clients in my service area they will receive a free estimate. This estimate is for current home owners and will be conducted on a scheduled time and date. During the consultation I will visually inspect the concerning area, give you the right information to help you make the best decision for your electrical project. You will work with the owner and operator every step of the way this ensures all information is received, handled and corrected in a timely fashion. Depending on the type of service you request I will go over the warranty qualifications. Repairs or any alterations of existing existing electrical systems requires trouble shooting are scheduled for a service call appointment only. HISTORY
Established in 2006.
Goldstream Electrical Services, Inc. was established in 2006. After learning the trade while working for a local electrical company, I received the National Electrical Code license in the State of Illinois and launched my company. Since then I have worked with hundreds of clients on all kinds of projects, from small residential fixes to commercial installations. Currently I live in Buffalo Grove and proudly serve the northern Chicagoland area residents with all their electrical needs.

Currently I live with my family in Buffalo Grove. Originally I'm from Europe/Poland and I've been living in the Chicago area for the past 20 yrs. I grew up in a family of electricians and it was natural for me to pick up that trade on American soil. I love what I do, I do it right and I do it with pride. I've been successful in providing homeowners with all their electrical needs. My clients have always been happy with my services, and I can back it up with references.
Safety is my priority and I always perform my work to meet the code, while keeping the price fair and competitive. As a small business owner I wear many hats, so far I wouldn't have it any other way; it's been a great experience. I like to be engaged in all aspects of running my business. Matt is the guy to go to. Very quick in comms. True to his word. Quality of work, willing to chat while doing the job, and fast turn around is the utmost best of the best. Had my 240v installed by him, for my ev charger using a nema 14-50 that I provided. Everything went as planned and he was very thorough about it all. Couldn't be happier and will do business again. Matt installed 12 ultra-thin LED wafer lights with dimmers in my basement for us and I couldn't be happier.
Communication was excellent. After I contacted him and told him what I was looking for, we quickly worked out a plan using some pictures of my basement as well as a diagram of my proposed light layout. He had some good recommendations on how many switches to use due to my layout (2) as well as going with wafer LEDs due to some ceiling joists and duct work that may have gotten in the way.
He showed up right on time, had all the tools, equipment, and parts that were needed, and was done about 7 hours later.
My basement room is now much brighter, and the dimmers have already come in handy.
I would use him again for any future electrical work.

I am so pleased with Matt's work. He came, saw and installed in less than a few hours. Neat for sure, wore booties while in the house and gave an explanation on how to operate the infloor outlet. Love his work and wouldn't hesitate to call him again,

Fantastic electrician - in fact I think I can easily say Matt is one of the best contractors we've ever worked with. He's upgraded our house to 200amp service and has also installed a Level 2 charger for an EV.
So why 5-stars? 1) He's very good at what he does (have had GC's verify/comment on the quality of his work), 2) He's friendly and explains things in plain language that is easy to understand and make decisions from, 3) He shows up on time and is incredibly responsive, and 4) His pricing is reasonable. Not basement, not exorbitant, just the right amount for the quality of work he does.
I can't recommend Goldstream enough.
Matt is a pro; on time, efficient, reasonable, professional. He performed several mid-size jobs for us with no fuss or secondary labor; highly recommended.

I called Goldstream, and they came sooner than originally promised. The work was done quickly, and competently. I would definitely hire them again.
I got lucky and he was available on short notice. Our conversations were short, to the point, and I felt he was honest with me. His cost came in 10% of what another electrician quoted - albeit a very easy quick job. We'll be back.

Matt responded promptly to my request for an estimate to install a 14-50 NEMA outlet in my garage. At his visit, he inspected the panel to confirm that it was adequately sized (200 amps), and measured the distance from the panel to where the new outlet would be located. He emailed me a fairly reasonable estimate with details of the work later that evening, and he responded quickly by text to a few questions I had about the work. I decided to select Matt based on other Yelp reviews and the confidence he displayed to me while communicating with him.
On the morning of the installation, I cleared off the areas where he needed to work to save his time. He arrived as scheduled, proceeded to work diligently, and finished the work in 3 hours. He was very courteous in my interactions with me. I would highly recommend him for the same type of work and would consider him for any future electrical work at my home.

What a pleasure to meet such a consummate professional. We reached out to Matt late one evening for an emergency call to address a possible short in a wall switch. We were fortunate in that he had an appointment cancellation for the next day and he arrived right in time.
I have never seen any tradesman as competent, thorough, and meticulous as Matt in their work. He checked out all connections in the panel and a suspect wall socket.
He spent two hours including a trip to purchase some parts and the cost was extremely reasonable to boot!

Matt was super prompt in response to my inquiry for a quote. He immediately let us know his availability timeframe, which was a bit later than we were looking to have the work completed. Still, I was able to provide him a write up of the proposed work to be done and he was able to give us an approximate cost. He also answered several questions we had regarding permit requirements. Although we weren't able to work with him on our current project I would certainly reach back out for future electrical needs. He was responsive, helpful and professional!
Matt showed up early on our appt day and completed the project as agreed. Everything was professional, clean and tidy. The whole process was painless. The cost was fair compare to other quotes I received (not the cheapest or the most expensive). I will ask for his help for our future electrical projects.

Highly recommend Matt for quality and service. He installed a Tesla wall connector in our garage. He was honest about his recommendations and gave me choices. He showed up on time and worked 6 hours straight. His prices are competitive but his skill is what I would use him again for. Matt has been out to our home twice, once to correct a code issue to have the ground attached to the street side of the water meter and most recently to correct some wiring issues and install new fixtures and dimmer switches. I could not agree more with all the other reviews, Matt is extremely competent, efficient, and clean. He communicates exactly what he is doing and performs the work expertly without shortcuts. He is able to accurately price by phone/email. I am thrilled to have found Matt and will most definitely use his services in the future.
Matt was great - he was able to give an estimate without having to make an appointment to come to our house, showed up on time, was efficient, fairly priced, and improved/brought up to code some of the work - all without making a huge mess. I'd hire him again and would highly recommend him.

Matthew was great to work with. He installed the wiring, fans and lights in my home. He was very professional and easy to communicate with. I will definitely use Matthew again for future electric projects.
I called Goldstream to see if they could come out to look at some electrical issues in my house. Unfortunately, we are out of the service zone, but Matt was super helpful. He even stayed on the phone with me to explain what the electrical issue may be, answer my questions and offered suggestions on what to do. I can't speak to anything but our phone call, but I have to imagine that if you are in their service area, they are the best place to do business with.
We wanted to add can lighting to our living room, a fan to our family room, along with a few other minor electrical projects. We shopped around and knew immediately upon meeting Matt that he was the one for the job. He was extremely thorough and made sure we knew exactly the process. He was open to suggestions and provided his professional opinion when a decision needed to be made. Matt wanted to make sure the project turned out how we envisioned. We called Matt to replace a ceiling light fixture in our bathroom that had broken. He tried to repair it first, but ultimately had to replace it. He was very nice, very professional, and knew what he was doing. Cost was as quoted. Thanks Matt!
Matt and Goldstream are everything that you could want in a contractor. From the first interaction, Matt made the whole experience easy. He scheduled a quote over text message, showed up on time, and offered a fair price. When he came to do the actual work (installation of recessed lights), he was meticulous and clean. He also made several excellent recommendations on how we could utilize wireless technology to avoid the need for opening up drywall (saving us money that we would have needed to otherwise spend on drywall repairs). We'll definitely be using Matt for any electrical needs in the future.

Matt is as good as it gets as an electrician. He is a true professional who is very knowledgeable about his work. The most exceptional characteristic of Matt is that he is courteous and honest. We have Matt out to our house twice to install some additional outdoors sockets and to fix some deteriorated wiring in the basement. In both cases, Matt has been very communicative prior to the job, letting us know exactly when he would arrive and how much the job would cost. On the day of the job, Matt was right on time. His workmanship is first rate and he always takes the extra time to review his finished work with us. You can't get a better electrician. Highly recommended.
We needed a conduit box moved so we could have some new windows installed. Although the project was more complicated than it initially appeared, Matt investigated the issue and devised a creative solution. He was friendly, professional, efficient, and is obviously extremely knowledgeable. Very reasonable rates. I would highly recommend him and will certainly call Goldstream again for future electrical work.
How often do you need an electrician in a lifetime really, but when you do, you need someone who is reliable, punctual and honest on work you know nothing about, especially on short notice.
We were closing in on a house, and a few days before closing, the lender threw us a curb ball on 2 electrical outlets that needed to be fixed. All the other electrical companies my husband called, was either having to leave a message on a machine, or too busy and had to schedule after a few days. I found Gold Stream Electrical, through Yelp, & Mathew, the owner, took my call and after hearing our plight, rearranged his busy day schedule to accommodate us that early afternoon.
With our luck, I had my fingers crossed that this guy would show up at all. Much to our surprise, he came right on time, addressed the issues in minutes. With time to kill, he went through the whole house giving us solid useful advice. Simple electrical fixes that can wait & be taken cared of in the future. None of the moaning and groaning, of how difficult and time extensive each job would take.
He even gave us a discount.
I am officially a fan, & my faith in electrical service personalities has peaked. I will definitely recommend this company to family and friends.

Matt is the only Electrician I use. He has done countless projects around my house and I couldn't be happier! His quality of work went way past my expectations and he makes sure the job is done right.
Matt and Goldstream Electrical are fantastic. I've used them several times now, for big jobs such as changing my main breaker; and some smaller jobs such as installing a switch for an overhead light and putting in some new outlets. He is a great electrician, always wears footies on his shoes when he's indoors (even though in our house you really don't need to), does great work for a reasonable price, and is VERY reliable. Goldstream is my go-to electrician now, you won't be disappointed if you give him a try.
Matt did a great job! He was super responsive via text message (even when I texted him on accident!) and explained everything in a way that I could understand. I had a couple add-ons to our order and he was able to let me know cost in advance, and let me know what he would have to evaluate at the house in looking at it. Our house has older electric and he explained to us what needed to be done and why. They were clean and timely and did everything in the exact way I would expect. This company does not take shortcuts and is fair in price for the quality of work that they perform. I would hire Goldstream again (and we just may need to when we replace our entire electrical panel!!).
