If I could give more stars I would! Stefan and his staff were EXTREMELY helpful, kind, professional, and quick with the repairs that were needed in my building. I would highly recommend this company for any of your electrical needs!! They even missed Superbowl Sunday to help me out, now that's some great service!! ;) Thank you again AC/DC!

We had an electrical emergency with smoke filling our basement and no obvious source - scary!! I called Sims and Sons and they got here amazingly fast. Masked as appropriate, professional, courteous, diagnosed the problem quickly, and fixed it plus bonus points for educating us on what happened exactly and what we needed to do to prevent further issues. They will be my go-to company for electrical and plumbing going forward!!

Initially gave them a 1-star rating after they refused to give any idea of cost, unless I paid $135 to get a quote. This sounded outrageous and I complained; the owner called me and arranged a time to come out and quote the work. He was nice and very reasonable. I agreed to the price and work was done timely and professionally. Star rating adjusted.

I was a little mystified and over my head rewiring some outlets in my condo rehab; one light circuit kept tripping a breaker. Based on these great Yelp reviews, I called Ted, and couldn't be more pleased with his service. He was at my door in Wheaton literally within an hour, and on short notice. Knowledgable and friendly, he showed me where I had miswired a plug, and offered some tips for future DIY wiring, all for a very reasonable rate. Highly recommended. Thanks, Ted.

My tenant was not able to get power in half of her apartment. After calling Highlights, they were able to send over a tech within 30 minutes. Ben arrived and was wearing a facemask due to COVID and was able to troubleshoot and solve the issue within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, four days later my tenant lost power to 2 of her rooms. After contacting Highlights, they sent out Ben and he was able to find the source by cutting a portion of the dropped ceiling to find a hidden junction box in which he was able to rewire and restore electricity not only to both of the rooms but also to a ceiling light fixture in the hallway that was not working for awhile. Ben was able to reattach the portion of the ceiling wall that he cut into as well. I was very pleased by Ben's professionalism throughout the duration of his services. We were very pleased with Blacklite Electric's service and would recommend this company for any projects (Large or small).  Neville was professional, a knowledgeable electrician, arrived on-time, and very polite.  We would definitely use them again, if we have any other electrical problems.  Below is a list of electrical issues we had and was fixed by Neville in a couple of hours.  He also provided an estimate the next day on other issues that was not a priority to fix at the time.  

1) Ceiling fan switch not working properly. It would turn on when it wanted to??

2) Wall sconce light fixture. Same issue, it would turn on when it wanted to??

We've used Kinetic Energy for some small jobs and liked them very much.  Just recently we hired them to (1) to remove an existing dual bulb motion sensor floodlight and then, in it's place, set up a Ring-brand motion sensor with a camera and floodlights on the alley side of our garage, and (2) install a Ring-brand doorbell camera/motion sensor on our front door.  The work included making sure both units were connected to our WiFi and working properly.  We got an estimate for the work weeks before we could get on the schedule.  Today we got the invoice for the completed work, and it was exactly the same amount as the estimate.  The installer Steve was very friendly, efficient, explained well what he was doing and didn't leave so much as a speck of dust when he was done.  This is an Oak Park business, owned by Oak Park residents.  SHOP LOCAL!

I had 3 people come out for discussions on our project and Tom came up with great recommendations for outdoor installation of lights and fixed some landscaping spotlights. He was reliable, helped pick out products and did a great job.  I'd definitely recommend him and will use him for future projects.

Outstanding customer service!  I needed same day service at my home.  While the Fixer could not come that day, they gave me the names and numbers of other reputable electricians in the area.  I was really impressed with their helpful service, and I would certainly come back to them.  They deserve to be the top of the Yelp list.
