We had a GFCI outlet installed in our bathroom. Stefan was on time, professional, and did good work. Communication was easy.

Mr. Sims made time in his busy schedule to come look at an electrical problem I've been having with my a/c wiring for over a month now.  He and his brother were very professional, came in masks and took the time to assess the issue. While this specific issue was not  their area, Mr. Sims recommended a licensed professional who was able to do the work.  It was especially timely since I'd had several popular vendors to come out but they were unable to diagnose the problem or actually fix the issue.  

Perhaps the best part of the experience was the follow up to make sure my issue was taken care of.  Customer service from this team was amazing and I highly recommend this business.

We had issues with an outdoor outlet nuisance tripping during heavy rain, even after having a new cover installed.  Unfortunately this outlet shared a circuit with our bedroom and office outlets, so the tripping caused heavy disruption.   It was particularly bad very early one morning after a stormy night, which left me scrambling at 7:15am trying to find an electrician.  Greenline answered immediately and was able to come out later that afternoon.  After some troubleshooting and exploratory work, the recommendation was to put the GCFI outlet on a dedicated circuit to prevent further disruption.  They came back the next day and did so quickly and efficiently, and even replaced the cover with a more durable one.  They also thoughtfully replaced our old and worn bedroom light switches and a scarred outlet for free - I really appreciated their thoughtfulness here.  They did all this for a very reasonable price and were easy to work with and communicative every step of the way.  I highly recommend them if you need any electrical work done!

While trying to install a new lighting fixture in the basement of our 1920s home, we encountered some truly baffling issues that, among other things, affected the outlets in our living room upstairs. After trying to troubleshoot the issue every way we knew how, we consulted Yelp to see if there was an electrician nearby who might be able to sort things out for us.

After reading the glowing reviews of Ryan Electrical Power and Lighting, it was an easy decision. Ryan responded to my request almost immediately and was at our home in Oak Park within an hour.

As we expected, our electrical issues weren't exactly straightforward but Ryan took his time to locate and remedy the problem and, in the process, eased our concerns about the safety and longevity of our wiring.

Ryan was extremely professional and courteous (he chatted with my dad and explained everything he was doing every step of the way so we know what to be on the lookout for in the future) and his rates were really fair. (When we inquired about the possibility of installing our new Nest Thermostat, he even recommended that we just call an HVAC professional who would probably charge us less!)

While we hope we don't have any electrical/wiring issues in the near future, we most certainly will call Ryan first if anything comes up!

My tenant was not able to get power in half of her apartment. After calling Highlights, they were able to send over a tech within 30 minutes. Ben arrived and was wearing a facemask due to COVID and was able to troubleshoot and solve the issue within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, four days later my tenant lost power to 2 of her rooms. After contacting Highlights, they sent out Ben and he was able to find the source by cutting a portion of the dropped ceiling to find a hidden junction box in which he was able to rewire and restore electricity not only to both of the rooms but also to a ceiling light fixture in the hallway that was not working for awhile. Ben was able to reattach the portion of the ceiling wall that he cut into as well. I was very pleased by Ben's professionalism throughout the duration of his services. Rogelio did a good job on our building. Repaired some outlets, in the apartment, garage, and outside of the building. He shared photos of his progress. We talk over the phone to clarify details and got a quote on the spot for additional work that was necessary and was finished the same day after getting the parts needed.
He is also bilingual, what helps communicating easier for a larger population group.
All good overall.

After attempting to install a new light fixture myself I ran into an electrical road block.  Jose of Tweaks & Finishes responded promptly to my request for an estimate, and scheduled the service call for the same day!  Jose, accompanied by Rodney arrived on time, and treated me and my home with such care and respect.  Jose was extremely knowledgeable, and quickly diagnosed my electrical problem-explaining the issue(s) found along the way.  A quick replacement of a burnt out dimmer switch restored my lighting, and mended the mess I created. Jose and Rodney also cleaned up the wires behind my many wall switches which they found to be a safety hazard, and installed my new ceiling light-all at a reasonable price within my budget.  Both gentlemen were kind, professional, and mindful-cleaning up after any small mess that was made.  I am thankful to have found Tweaks & Finishes, I am looking forward to using them again in the future for a painting project. After my husband and I failed miserably at installing a light (and disconnected two other lights in the process), we called Blacklite -- and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Neville arrived right on time, fixed our lights, installed two dimmers and figured out the source of another lighting problem within an hour. On top of that, his workmanship was impeccable. Highly recommend for a variety of tasks! We've used Fixer for pluming and thermostat help and have been very pleased! They are the go-to solution for small jobs but bigger than DIY. Edgar was our fixer this morning and was great!
