I searched on-line to find an electrician familiar with older homes. The Yelp reviews for Blue Line Electric (owner: David Zhu) were spot-on. David was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable.  Also, his estimate was very reasonable, and he stands behind his work for a full year.  David will prepare the estimate and do the work too!

I called David on the weekend and he came out right away on Monday.  After the walk-through,  David provided me with some recommendations on how to deal with the old-fashioned chain light switches in our closets (notorious for getting stuck or breaking), and what the problem might be with a set of indoor / outdoor switches and sockets.

He worked throughout the 3 1/2 hours, even with the wet conditions, and  showed me the parts he had replaced and explained how they were contributing to the problem.  He was thorough to the very end, leaving no trace of dust in the closets - another bonus.

I would highly recommend Blue Line Electric.

This is a house in Oakland, worth almost 1 mil. I had never seen so much wasted wire. Seemed like the job was rush. Perhaps no permits were pulled because I doubt a home inspector would of allowed this.

I hired Chris to install a ceiling light in my master bedroom. He is very polite, humble and most importantly got the job done in 15 minutes! He seems very familiar with everything he is doing and has a very reasonable rate. I'd hire him again for any electrical related works.

When the power to half you house goes out and you don't know why...you call Don!  On a dark and rainy night last week he came to diagnose the situation within 30 minutes of my call - now that's service.  He explained that the problem was with the incoming power from PG&E, helped me contact them and explain the situation for their work crew.  Don even followed up with me the next day to make sure that all was well and that the problem was solved.  When in need for any future electrical assistance I'm calling him - thank you Don!

Wish I could give this gentleman 100 stars!! Wife and I had some major electrical issues due to all the storms we had recently. Mr. Kicker came to the rescue at the drop of a dime and was super friendly and knowledgeable! Would recommend him to the pope himself!! Even our dog loved him(which is rare). Before selling my rental home in Sunnyvale, Ken replaced my 100Amp Zinsco panel with a 200Amp main upgrade. He dealt with the city and all permits needed, as well as took care of PG&E and inspections. He also had the stucco repaired around the panel. i recently got my solar installed. The team is great to work with. They are very prompted to provide all the details information you needs. The installation team is also great, they ensure you understand what they are there for and explain to you how they will do and what need to be done. You don't have to worry at all. Great Electrician. The husband and wife team at D & H went above and beyond to help us in an emergency when our power lines were taken down by a large tree.  

The work was done quickly and they really helped out with the county inspection.  Highly recommended if you need an electrician.

Had a very good experience with Gonzalo of GAP electric. Very professional and wore a mask when working on 2 outlets under my sink. Had issues replacing myself but Gonzalo figured it out in no time and now the dishwasher and garbage disposal are all working now.

Max came out to our house on short notice, was very nice and thoroughly went through our a/c system to find out what was wrong. He did not rush the diagnostic,  presented a few options to fix our issues and told us he'd be providing different estimates depending on our budget and what route we want to take. Our antique front porch light was not working and the screws to open it had seized up. MEL Electric came and took great care to get the screws working again, fix it so that it would not happen again and carefully cleaned it. Now our porch looks transformed with a shiny clean and working pendant light. I purchased a Generac 13kw generator from Stallings Electric and installed. Everything from start to finish was excellent communication, install, and customer walk through when completed. I had other bids from other local contractors and their pricing was also the best.
