Marin SF Electric is a full service electrical contracting company that services residential, commercial and industrial clients. Residential services include large projects such as new home electrical installation, electrical design, lighting up grades ceiling fan installation, GFI and arc fault breaker, smoke detectors, in home generators, service upgrades and in home E.V. Charging stations. From simple troubleshooting to complete installation we do it all. All of our electricians are certified by the State of California and we are licensed and bonded. You'll always get a prompt response from Marin Sf Electric via phone or email and we do free estimates for all jobs. Weekend appointments can be available however it is on a first call first serve basis. HISTORY
Established in 2013.
Marin SF Electric recently changed their name from Auto Charge Electric. Founded in 2013 with over 16 years experience as an electrician. Continuing education is important to me and all of my employees including myself are State Certified or in apprenticeship programs. From the moment I started my apprenticeship in the IBEW Union in 2002 I knew I wanted to own a business. With the growing demand for quality electricians I decided last year it was time to start this venture. I love the challenge of managing the business and enjoy exceeding customer expectations. ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
My electrical career started in the apprenticeship program for the electrical union. I worked my way up from journeyman to general foreman, managing electrical jobs including the Stanford Linear Accelerator, Genentech and Applied Bio Systems. I also taught and administered OSHA classes and certification for Local 617 (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
After moving to Marin in 2008, I was hired as the Senior Electrician for the County of Marin managing the maintenance of county buildings, troubleshooting advanced backup generators, circuitry, lighting and controls, and installing commercial E.V. Chargers.
It's difficult to get me to stop working, but when I do have free time I enjoy fishing, restoring old cars and hiking and biking in Marin with my wife and kids. My father was in the construction industry so I've been on job sites since I was a kid. I have two young boys I'm excited to share the same memories with him.

I thought I had left a review, regardless, his is a great company that sent someone out promptly who was very educated about my issues and explained it well and repaired it quickly and satisfactorily and I will call them again without haste when I need them next!

Asked for consult on site. Got back to me super fast. Showed up exactly when they scheduled.
Never needed to see the final product. Bc they advised me I didn't need the work ... bc repair was so easy. And showed me how to do it. And wouldn't accept an offered 'svc. visit' fee when I offered.
Wow. Well done. Worth the stars. I'll use this co for ALL my homes electrical needs. Including EV car installation.

This is a nimble and responsive electric contractor. Cut to the crunch, no chase required. Licensed, good communication (expectation mgmt).

We needed a 1974 installed Zinsco electric panel replacing at our Novato townhouse, which involved securing a waiver from the city because of it's proximity to other utilities. Len at Marin SF Electric gave us a detailed bid/plan, helped secure HOA approval and handled all the necessary waiver and permit red tape with the city. He also scouted around our subdivision and found an example of how this had been done previously, which proved useful in selecting a replacement panel.
On the day, Len and his team of Duncan, Erin and Eric were professional and observed all COVID safety precautions. They were also replacing all the outlets inside our home and installing a new LED light in the shed. Everything was completed in one day (including co-ordinating the city inspection). They repaired all the exterior wooden trim and an interior partition wall. Even power washing the spray-painted utility markers off the asphalt (at my request). Finally, they also paid mind to our 2x nervous house cats and cleaned up after themselves indoors.
The new panel was fully tested and we were happy with Marin SF Electric's work: from first contact to job completion. This was a tricky job and the flexibility they showed after walls were opened in adapting original plans demonstrated their expertise.

Len and Marin SF electric did a great job.
We had a 200amp panel installed along with some ancillary electrical work.
They were responsive, thorough and made the process easy for us.
Highly recommend and we'll use again!

AMAZING! After receiving word from a tenant about an electrical problem, i called Marin-SF Electric on a Friday afternoon and they provided an appointment for Monday morning. I was impressed at how knowledgeable they were. They were extremely efficient about their communication, texting me to advise of the appointment time, texting me again when they were on the way, and texting a third time when the work was done. They fixed the problem quickly and professionally. This is the first time I have used Marin-SF Electric but definitely NOT my last time. I cannot recommend them more highly. OUTSTANDING!
Duncan and Aaron really helped me out today. With so many people struggling I cant say I had an emergency, but since I cook 3 meals a day for my elderly husband, I needed my dishwasher and garbage disposal. They were both not working because of a PG & E power outage which burnt the outlets connected to my d/w and garbage disposal. The owner, Len contacted me and was so caring. All of the 3 team members I dealt with were professional, courteous and helpful. Thank You! I highly recommend Marin SF Electric.
We were so impressed with Len and his crew installing our generator. The work was done quickly and professionally with leaving the job site cleared of any debris. Our generator had many issues from the time it came out of its crate. Len had to come to our home several times to make sure our generator worked correctly. Len was outstanding in making sure all issues were corrected with our faulty generator. He worked very hard and was able to correct the many issues our generator was delivered to us with. We recommend Len and his wonderful crew. Outstanding service and dependability. It is not often you find a great company with dependability and great service. Thank you Len again for all your hard work in helping us with our generator.
The pros:
Len was quick to call me back and schedule an appointment that same week. He showed up just about 30 minutes later than agreed, no big deal. The work he did was also high-quality and passed inspection without any issue. I felt the price was fair. Plus, as a designer I appreciate their branding (logo, trucks, etc) and felt it relevant for Marin.
The cons:
Our dishwasher suffered some collateral damage due to a mounting screw installed for an electrical box. It punctured a hose and leaked water and needed to be replaced. Len was visibly and verbally frustrated, but basically told me that he wasn't a plumber and I would need to deal with this myself; he would reimburse me for the repair. I had to spend time finding the part (which wasn't easy) and then time with a repair person to get everything back in order. Less of an issue, I also found parts/debris left behind at a couple of the areas he worked at, including one of his screwdrivers (which I returned).
Unfortunate things happen, but I feel it could have been handled a little better so the onus wasn't on me to repair his mistake. So a ding on customer service. But the work quality was strong.
Duncan and Colby did fantastic work updating the electrical in our very old house. They arrived early, worked very hard, were extremely personable, and were such a pleasure to have in our home. We would give 10 stars if we could!
The quote was $120 /hr. Len fixed the garage circuit in one hour. That was fine. He charged me $175 for the time. When I pointed out that the quoted rate was $120, he said that the first hour was $175.
There were some other factors in the charge which were not explained at the time, but Len agreed to refund the difference, and I appreciate that.
Very professional company with friendly and hardworking employees. Job needed up being much cheaper than expected, and also finished faster than expected. Will be reaching out in the future for my electrical needs.
I live in an old house in Marin and had a bunch of things going wrong at once, which made me worried that what seemed like a simple breaker flipping and furnace not lighting/ blower stuck might be a bigger issue with shorts in the system. I called Marin SF on a Saturday and Len came out within an hour. He figured out the problem and fixed it within an hour. He was communicative and great to work with.

Len is the best! So happy we called on him for our household electrical needs. We live in an old house and when the power went out, we knew he had an electrical issue on our hands. After a thorough inspection, Len installed a handful of new circuits and everything is running smoothly now. But what I am most impressed with was Len's professionalism and the care he took to carefully explain the issue and all of our options.
As new home owners, we always fear we're somehow being taken advantage of due to naiveté but with Len, I am confident we were in excellent hands.
These guys came to my home while I was at work ( next day after I called). They listened to what was wrong and solved all 5 of my issues and pointed out a faulty plug on an area heater as well. They left a great and complete note and offered to come back if I had any issues.
I can't be more satisfied. These guys know their stuff. If you have electrical issues, call them!!

Lenny and his team are professional and experts at their craft. He responds to emails and phone calls which can be a challenge for some tradesmen. He is punctual and does very clean work.
He upgraded our service, added outdoor lighting, moved this, fixed that, and we added 220 for a hot tub as well. I couldn't be happier with all of our improvements. Lenny is your man. Permits and inspection handled as well by him.
Awesome service! Came in and found the problem in a couple of minutes when other electricians couldn't figure it out. Got out here quickly too! Really stand up guys can't recommend enough.
I had a problem with a GFI Receptacle that I had installed. It did not turn on....I panicked and called Lenny, he walked me through it, and it turned out that I hadn't pressed the reset button hard enough. Now it works.
He is great!!!!

Len and his team have done a number of electrical projects on my property in Marin. They are always very friendly, professional and get the job done right. Len is responsive and delivers high quality customer service. I have really enjoyed working with them over the years and highly recommend them to anyone needing an electrician.
In construction there are three legs of importance - speed, quality and cost. After several years of successful projects with Len our company has realized he brings more to the table than most. Each job on time, value engineered to fit the budget, above and beyond quality. Len and his crew, especially Colby and Duncan, are assets to any project.
Due to the complexity of our projects, Len, Colby and Duncan became nearly part-time residents at our home. There were three phases of the work we hired Marin SF Electric to do: 1) Bring new, beefier electrical service to the house 2) Upgrade the electrical in our kitchen; 3) Upgrade electrical in our bathroom. Each of these three projects presented their challenges due to the age of our house and the necessary interactions with PGE. I was so impressed by the calm expertise that each of these three men brought to their work. It sometimes felt like things were devolving into chaos in other aspects of the work, but they held the center. They were patient and their energy was so easy and pleasant to have around. No posturing and none of the male competitiveness that drives me nuts. They never lost their individual or collective cool, and their workmanship was a combination of artistry and skill. I would imagine one could find less expensive electricians, but really - I wouldn't bother trying. They are the best of the best. I used to resent spending money on stuff that doesn't show, and I lumped electrical in with that. But OMG! The lighting has so improved our quality of life, as has the upgraded service. PGE was horrible to work with, but Len, Duncan and Colby were at our house 12 hours one day - all three of them - trying to work with PGE to get our new service up and running. I was so impressed. I am grateful that all three of them are so young. I won't ever have to look for electricians again!

Len was amazing. Responded immediately, followed up flawless in setting up my home level 2 EV charger, including securing the permit, arranging the inspection, and a super professional installation job,including moving my bike rack. Whilst at my home, he also installed some pendant lights in the kitchen. He is professional, reliable, reasonably priced. There is no electrical project I would not rely on him to take on.

Contacted Auto Charge Electric via email and heard from them in 15minutes. Lost power in my kitchen in am so had no use of refrigerator or stove. They weren't able to come until 5 or 6 pm which was wonderful because I needed help today. Duncan called me to say he was 15 minutes away. He explained in terms that I could understand what had had happened, replaced the GFI, helped me re-label the fuse box, and then as a courtesy, checked out my thermostat & fixed it. He was personable & obviously knew what he was doing. I would use Auto Charge Electric again! Thank you Duncan!

Len Bourcey is the best electircian I've ever worked with and as a Property Manager I've worked with several over the years. He and his crew are honest, reliable, and very competetive. Len is excellent at trouble shooting which is very helpful as we manage mostly single family houses in Marin a lot of which are 70+ years old. When it comes to anything electrical AC Electric is always always always our first choice.

Lenny is the best electrician my husband and I have come across in the Bay Area. Lenny is professional, smart, efficient, honest, and able to problem solve electrical issues with ease. We needed electrical work to install our HotSpring Spa. We wanted the spa to be installed immediately and Lenny made time for us. I was unaware that the spa would work better if converted to a 230 volt operation from 115 volt. Lenny explained this to me and was able to install with his team without any issues. He took the time to make sure everything was in working order before leaving. We were extremely impressed by his work. His prices are much better than other electricians in the surrounding area. Lenny also took the time to check in the following day to make sure we were happy and everything was still working well. We will definitely be using Lenny and his team for future electrical work. Highly highly recommend.
Very professional, dependable, and reasonably priced. Work completed: load calculations for our existing and future electrical loads to help maximize solar output; installation of a new 200 amp main panel in a difficult location; and installation of a new sub panel for new addition including a future EV charger. Power had to be off during this work, but Lenny made sure it was done after I left for work.
I had them over to do some very straightforward electrical work, like replacing fixtures and some difficult issues, like how to get my whirlpool spa to work when the switch broke and the companies who made the switch and made the tub were no longer in business. I also asked them to resolve my problems with a motion sensor light fixture burning out with regularity. They fixed everything perfectly and were knowledgable, prompt and great to work with. The best!!!!
