Perry Electric performed a 200 AMP panel upgrade on our Eichler house and the work was great.  Ken coordinated with PG&E so the work was done within one day when we were at work. Ken also stand by for the inspections from the city.

I highly recommend Perry Electric for their good work.

A few years later, still top notch. Was able to fit us in to replace a broken and very old outdoor outlet for us.  Ken and Damien are terrific. Great people and service!

I can't say enough good things about Perry Electric.  Ken, Damien, and Justina are all amazing to work with and do an amazing job.  We had them install some recessed lights, a ceiling fan, and an additional outlet and couldn't be happier.

Two thumbs up for Perry Electric. Very professional, reliable, and took great precautions to protect the areas of the house they were working. They don't do emergency repairs and they are scheduling pretty far out but if you have a project that can wait several weeks, I highly recommend Perry Electric

Just finished working with Ken Perry and Damien yesterday.  They ran lines and installed dedicated outlets in our two bathrooms and did a great job!  Ken initially scoped out the job and took the time to inspect what would we be needed to get the job done (i.e. access to the attic and underneath the house, where the drops were going to be made, etc.)  Very reasonable quote given what we needed and per his explanation.  Once we got through the permitting process, Ken and Damien were onsite, on time and worked quickly, cleanly and efficiently.  Good quality workmanship and just really nice folks and informative.  FYI, Ken was a referral from others that had used him and we'll be referring him to others as well!  Plus, we're having him come back for additional work.  Highly recommend!

The team at Perry Electric did a great job upgrading our panel to 200 Amp and installing a couple circuits to the garage for an EV charger and heat pump water heater. The initial paperwork took quite some time, mostly because of covid related delays and PG&E was extremely slow. Nevertheless Justina stick with it and we finally got the go ahead. The actual install only took a few days and it breezed through city inspections no problem. I especially appreciate that Ken was so attentive to our requests for certain equipment and wire layouts. That shows he has my best interests at heart. Thanks Perry Electric!

Tells me on the phone that they're booked up for months and snottily refers me to a list of electricians on nextdoor.com.  What do I need that for; I've already got Yelp.  Anyway, they say they're on that list on nextdoor.com, so since they can't help me, what good will a list of electricians who are booked up for months do?  What is it with electricians anyway; plumbers always come immediately when you call.

Fantastically rude and snotty.

My wife and I decided to remodel our kitchen.  Seeing that our home is almost 80 years old the electrical needed to be redone as well.  We shopped around and had quotes from 4 other contractors.  Ken by far was the best choice and stood out above the rest!
Ken upgraded our main electrical panel, installed LED recessed lighting, under cabinet lights and added new GFCI outlets in the kitchen.  Ken was always on time, upfront about any issues that would arise, professional and most important he was friendly!!  Thank you Ken for helping me and my wife truly love where we live and enjoy our new kitchen!

We had Ken do a service panel upgrade and re-wire to remove old knob and tube wiring in our 1911 rental. They did a fantastic job, got it done when they said they would and were very clean and accommodating of our tenants.
We would highly recommend Perry Electric!!

Highly recommended. Very knowledgeable, hard working crew, very helpful and accommodating. Got several large jobs done for me and I was very happy with the results.

I really hope that if they expand and hire more people, they will manage to maintain the quality and the knowledge, as well as the trust the build with their customers.

Finally a contractor who shows up on time and completes the job when he says he'll be finished. We hired Ken Perry to upgrade our electrical service from 100 amp box to 200 amp. He knew all the city codes in accordance to the electrical permit and proceeded to do the job in a fast
and timely manner.  When the City of Santa Clara Inspector came to do the final inspection his only comment was you sure can tell this job was correctly
done. I would not hesitate to hire Ken Perry Electric in a heart beat.
He is a true professional.

In short words, Ken is a trouble free electrian. I started to  work with Ken for rewiring my whole house, including changing electric panel. Ken came on time to do the estimation, not very talkative, but took a long list of notes. His price was reasonable, so I hired him. Ken and his helper kept the whole working place as clean as possible, although they had to cut the dry walls. They followed the code closely, which made both rough inspection and final inspection very smooth.
Because I had a good working experience with Ken, I kept asking him to do small jobs, like changing indoor and outdoor fixtures. His scheduler never made me wait for long time.
Recently, Ken changed subpanel of my rental. Again, it was trouble free for me. My tenant was very happy for not being disturbed much. And his job passed city inspection in less than 10 minutes.

Before selling my rental home in Sunnyvale, Ken replaced my 100Amp Zinsco panel with a 200Amp main upgrade. He dealt with the city and all permits needed, as well as took care of PG&E and inspections. He also had the stucco repaired around the panel. I must say that Kens work is very thorough and detailed - he gets the job done right the first time! I especially appreciated his professionalism, honesty and fairness. Not to mention he had kept me informed throughout the whole job. He makes you feel involved and guided as a customer instead of in the dark. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone I know! Thanks to Ken and staff at Perry Electric!

Ken did an amazing job.  He upgraded our main electrical panel it was in desperate need being from 1939z. He was on time and completed the job quickly.  After getting several quotes we felt that Ken was the right person for the job and we are so happy we went with him! We highly recommend Ken for all of your electrical needs.

Pretty disappointed. Called and left a voicemail and then followed up with an email - all I'm looking for is an estimate for a bunch of work to be done on a house I just bought. Ken emailed me back and we set up time for him to stop by today. This morning he emailed to ask if he could come 30 minutes earlier. I told him no problem.

It is now hour and a half after the time he was supposed to stop by and he hasn't stopped by, nor have I received a phone call or email.

Sorely disappointed. And unfortunately, I'm not willing to work with a company that is unreliable and uncommunicative.

Ken is awesome! We needed to have recessed lighting, ceiling fans, wall sconces, a subpanel and misc outlets installed and Ken not only made the process easy but enjoyable! He was patient with answering my questions, quick to respond via email and even started the work ahead of schedule. I would recommend Ken to anyone who needs electrical work done in the Sunnyvale area.

Recently my neighbor upgraded to 200amps service panel and recommended Perry Electric because we were going to install central heat & air.

The owner Kenny Perry showed up on time advised me that our existing panel was sufficient, no need for an upgrade. I was shocked that all he recommended was the pre wiring.  So we hired Perry Electric to do the electrical wiring for my AC and forced air heating.

I can't stress enough on his professionalism, very competitive price, very tidy, showed up on time and even followed up 2 weeks later making sure I was satisfied.

Since then I have hired Kenny to wire my hot tub, install lighting for my cabana and my new kitchen.

Thank you Perry Electric! It's nice to see an honest contractor still exist!!!!!!

I had Perry Electric do some work in my condo last year and it's probably the best experience I've had with an electrician! They were always on time, prepared, very skillful and honest. I'd definitely call Perry Electric again when I have an electric project to be done.

My husband and I decided to remodel our 70 year-old home in Sunnyvale.  This included an overhaul of the entire outdated electrical system: a new expandable panel, new circuits throughout the house, canned lighting in the kitchen and living room, two flat screen TV's installed with all wires hidden in the wall, and a complete rewire for our new kitchen, laundry, and appliances.

Ken Perry of Perry Electric was very friendly and conducted himself like a professional. We were very impressed with Ken's depth of knowledge and experience as he seemed to have answers and options for each of our problems and concerns.  He asked us a series questions and then laid out several options based off our feedback.  He is a good listener and has a keen sense for what people want.  His bid was transparent and we felt comfortable for what we were about to pay.  We knew exactly what we were paying for because he itemized everything in his bid.

We were very pleased with the quality of his work.  Everything met or exceeded our expectations. We knew we needed a new panel but we had no idea it was the answer to our tripped circuit nightmares.  His recommendation for the height and number of outlets in the kitchen saved us much time and frustration.  We are lucky we listened to him as we would be short on outlets if he had not been accurate in assessing our needs.  Sometimes you need the opinion of an expert to save yourself from yourself.  My flat screen TV's look like pictures on the wall because there are no wires to be found.  Excellent work!

I would definitely recommend Ken Perry to my friends and family for all their electrical needs.  We have small children in the house and we were worried about dust and particulates in the air.   Ken maintained a clean work space while working in our house.  He covered the hardwood floors and furniture with tarps while working and removed all his tools and swept the floors when he was finished for the day.  His rates are reasonable and you can sense that he has a high level of integrity because he details exactly what you are getting for your money.  Thank you Perry Electric for a job well done!

I could not rate Ken Perry and his team at Perry Electric more! My job involved replacing can light and dimmer switches that were no longer working. I also have a under cabinet lighting that Ken repaired the internal ballast to prevent a more costly solution. We also thought we had a simple job to replace under counter rope lighting that turned out to be installed by contractors in the most interesting ways! Ken was patient and provided excellent service and communication. One thing of note is that he and his team are very tidy with their work and treated our home with great respect. I can't think of working with anyone else now and appreciate that he is local to Sunnyvale. Thanks Ken!

I'm doing some remodeling on my townhouse that was built back in the 70's and needed some electrical work done.  Specifically, I needed my main panel to be replaced, two bathrooms completely rewired, about 20 can lights installed in my living room and hallways, 3 light fixtures replaced, a ceiling fan replaced, several outlets switched to GFI, some outlets moved to another wall, and I needed it all done to code.  A friend of mine recommended Perry Electric to me, so I called them and made an appointment.

Kenny, the owner, was great: friendly, always on time, prompt with estimates, and really took the time to listen, understand my needs, and lay out my options.  For example, I was planning on replacing my main service panel because it was full, but Kenny recommended a sub panel as an alternative that saved me a ton of money.  They also recommended some super-efficient, quiet bathroom fans/lights to more effectively remove moisture from the my bathrooms (something I hadn't even considered prior).  The fans are awesome.

They worked super efficiently (got it all done in 2 days!), were clean, I felt totally comfortable leaving them alone at my house while I was at work, and to top it all off, the Inspector even mentioned how well the cabling was done from the new panel.  Needless to say, I passed the inspection with flying colors.

Overall, my experience with Perry Electric was superb from start to finish, and I'd recommend them to anyone.  I just wish my experiences with all contractors could be this worry-free!

Ken and his team were fantastic, from start to finish!  I needed some fixture upgrades for my shower/tub, and his suggestions and guidance was spot on for the kind and brands that were installed.  He was always on time and just a model journeyman electrician.  I was very pleased to get him -- he is busy, understandably, and well worth the wait.   Get him for your next electrical job.

Had a situation in which a previous contractor didn't go through the proper permitting/inspection process for our upgraded electrical panel.  Decided to hire someone that we felt would be extremely responsible and go the job correctly this time.  We definitely found that person in Ken Perry.  We hiighly recommend him (especially if you live in the Sunnyvale area as we do) and will definitely be hiring him again if we need any more electrical work done in our house.

Ken was a big help in getting replacing our panel and upgrading it to 200 amp service.   Ken took care of doing the necessary prep work prior to the panel replacement to minimize our down time.   He coordinated with the city and PG&E beforehand, and had done the necessary stucco removal prior to panel replacement day.

When I got home from work that day we had a new panel and the power worked.  It seemed so simple, but I know a lot of work went on to smoothly change the panel in a day.      Since we have a two story house, the riser pipe which feeds into the panel also had to be replaced.   Ken took care of all aspects of the panel installation including stucco and drywall repair (for which he has good people on his team to rely on).

I had received a few other quotes on this project, one company advocating that I needed to replace the wiring to the pole and another company wanting to do the upgrade but to keep all the new wiring external, which would've made their job simpler but would've been quite an eyesore on our exterior.

Additionally we had Ken add a few new circuits.   He was always very professional, would let us know the cost of work up front, and was conscientious about being clean while in our house.  I always like it when contractors slip on booties without us having to ask them to.  We would definitely use him again for any future electrical needs we may have.  He has a good understanding of the older homes in Silicon Valley and the electrical practices over the last 50+ years, which is really a good thing to know given the make-up of Silicon Valley homes.

Really happy that we hired Ken.  We had him do a service upgrade and rewire all the outlets/switches/fixtures for half of our house.  It was a lot of work, but he was able to start pretty soon after he gave us the quote and worked straight until the job was complete.  He was very professional (as was his assistant) and very easy to work with.  I believe his rates are in line with what others are charging, but you know you'll get good work with him.  He maintained great communication during the job, letting us know how it was progressing, which was very reassuring.  We're going to need the other half of our house rewired and will definitely call him again.

Update: Have now had Ken back to upgrade my old Zinsco panel to new 200-amp service (and move it to other side of house). And also to upgrade all my old knob-and-tube wiring (outlets, lights, switches, etc...) to modern grounded Romex. As before, he and his assistant Jesse did a great job. They were very good at overcoming obstacles to do all the extra things I wanted (like undercabinet and exterior lights). And also threw in extras I hadn't even thought of (like more garage outlets). The PG&E changeover happened seamlessly (they know him). His work passed Sunnyvale permit inspection on the first visit (they also know him). The inside wiring retrofit was done with minimal damage to my old plaster walls. And his total price was much more reasonable than the first electrician (a Yelp superstar) that I had quote it. Only downside is that more people seem to be discovering him, and he's getting harder to schedule with ;-)

I wish we had the ability to give 20 stars because this would be the one. I was searching high and low for an electrician that would do great work and not rip me off and let me tell you stop reading this and call Ken. I can't say enough about the professionalism courtesy and workmanship.  I had multiple issues in my home from rewiring to replacing outdoor motion lights and a hot tub uninstall and reinstall and he shined. I can see why he has all 5 stars. Kudos!

I'm not from the area, so I relied on proximity and Yelp to find an electrician for several small jobs around my father-in-law's home.  I called Ken's number and Justine answered the phone and took detailed notes.  On the day of our appointment, Ken was prompt and on time.  He had a list of our jobs, and also allowed me time to elaborate .  During the job, he took time to show me the ceiling light issues in the kitchen and suggested LED replacement for the burnt out fixtures.  My husband ran to home depot to purchase two affordable LED fixtures as Ken finished up the other jobs in our home.  When my husband returned, Ken installed them for us.  It was very important everything was all done in the same day, as my elderly father-in-law who lives in the home relies on us being in town to get things done.  We will use Ken again.  Big or small he knows what he's doing and is reliable and efficient.  Friendly too! :D

I was referred to Perry Electric through a family friend who has been using them for several years.  I contacted Ken who arrived at my house on time and was extremely professional.  At first, I needed minor work done throughout the house - take down old ceiling fan, install new lights throughout the house, and fix a faulty electric oven.  Ken provided a quote that was very competitive with other contractors.  I stood by while Ken completed the work and was amazed at how meticulous he was.  He completed the job(s) properly in a timely fashion.  Everything looked great and worked perfectly.

Several months passed and I needed more complex electrical work done at the house - wire a hot tub in our backyard, complete a service panel upgrade, and rewire the garage.  I knew exactly who to call and Ken arrived at the house again and provided an extremely fair quote.  He thoroughly explained what needed to be done and why.  I was extremely confident in giving him the job.

The job(s) were completed and again Ken exceeded my expectations.  The work was done in a short amount of time.  Their level of detail is second to none - from how they cleaned up at the end of the workday to how the city inspector commented on their fine workmanship.

I have dealt with several questionable contractors in the past and have become leery of them in general.  Perry Electric does not fall into that category.  They are professional, highly skilled and have the highest level of integrity.  I have complete confidence in them and know they will do the job right the first time.  If you need any type of electrical work done at your residence, I would call them first.

I had an electrical short in the house and the mini circuit breaker kept going off.  I called about half dozen electricians from Yelp and decided on Ken since he seemed to know how to troubleshoot, seemed like a nice guy and quoted a competitive estimate to come and troubleshoot.

He arrived on time, and within 10 minutes had narrowed down the issue to one light switch. He eliminated the switch itself as the problem and needed to bring a ladder (we have 13 foot high ceilings) to reach and examine the connection on the overhead house entry light.  Meanwhile he also fixed a plug point (unrelated to the short and minicircuit breaker going off).that wasn't working where the neutral and live wire were touching.

He fixed a good time per my convenience and showed up the next day with a ladder.  After identifying the issue as one of faulty internal wiring, he recommended I speak with our home association to see if they would cover it before he started work on it.  He even let me use his ladder to fix a couple of ceiling bulbs.

Overall, Ken exceeded my expectations.  He is honest, knows what he is doing, has excellent troubleshooting skills and charges fairly for the work he does.  I've saved his name and number with me and know who to call next time I need electrical work done in my house.

I asked Perry Electric to make a service call to help troubleshoot some electrical problems in my home. Ken Perry responded promptly and courteously to my request for service. When I autonomously discovered the source of the problem (a hidden upstream GFCI) 1 hour before the call, Ken Perry waived the service call fee without question despite the lack of notice, and simply asked to be considered for future business. Perry Electric came across as a professional, customer-focused business.

We can't say enough good things about Perry Electric!  Reasonable? Yes!  Professional? Yes!  Courteous?  Yes!  All-around great experience on our room remodel and service box upgrade.  We created an entertainment room and Ken was able to run all the new wiring in the walls for the speakers and components, creating a really clean look.  Our 65 year old house really needed the electrical panel upgrade, we feel a lot safer now that the previous owner's handywork has been cleaned up!

Don't hesitate to give Perry Electric a call!

Some 9 year old smoke alarms went off in my house, twice! in middle night! Some of them are on high ceilings so that I can't reach. I asked around by messaging/calling/emailing and Ken was the most responsive one. There may be some other electrician/handyman out there who can do the job but they are useless if they can't be reached or wouldn't do the job for you. So Ken came in two days later, he had to borrow a 20 ft ladder from a friend and replaced those smoke alarms quickly. I also had him replace a bath vent fan and upgraded some recessed lights. He and his friend did the job quite clean and professionally. I would definitely hire him again if I need an electrician.

Perry Electric did the wiring for a bathroom remodel in October 2011 .The work was professional, timely,  and clean. We had them back again for another bathroom in April 2012. Again a fantastic job. We had them survey the wiring in the house and fix faulty circuits., new lights installed and smoke /carbon monoxide detectors installed and wired. These people are true to their word, billing / quotes are transparent and well priced.
I highly recommend  you call Kenny ( owner) and get a quote from him.

I am very pleased with the friendly and professional service that Perry Electric provided. Back in October, they came into our home to add in a handful of cans for recessed lighting. We opted for LED recessed lighting as well as a dimmer switch, and it looks fantastic. They finished promptly in half a day's time and left no signs of construction in our household. I will gladly be using them for any light fixture modifications in the future.

The thought of major electrical repairs made the overwhelming task of a complete kitchen remodel seem impossibly complex and frustrating.  After speaking to five electricians and getting five different opinions on what needed to be done, ranging in cost from $3,000 to $25,000, a close friend suggested I contact Ken Kenny Perry.  Ken immediately broke down each stage of the project into clearly definable objectives and provided detailed solutions for the many challenges we faced, challenges that included a complete panel upgrade.  Also, Ken and his men were patient and courteous in accommodating my elderly mother-in-law.  They gave us plenty of warning before they had to turn off the power, and they usually were right on with their estimates on down time.  Unlike some of the other contractors we have encountered, Ken's work is neat and professional, and his rates are fair and reasonable.  He treats our family's home like it is his family's home.  We have had him back to complete smaller projects, and he has treated them with the same care and level of importance.  I now only have one number in my phonebook for electrical, and I strongly recommend him to anyone in the Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Cupertino, and Santa Clara areas needing electrical work.

I was referred to Kenny Perry of Perry Electric by a friend.  I found Kenny to be very professional, knowledgable and very reasonable.  He upgraded my 2 bathroom outlets because they were tripping my electrical panel. Kenny installed 8 recessed lights in my bedroom..  He suggested the placement of the lights and installed them accordingly.  After completing the projects, they left the house cleaner that it was. I highly recommend Perry Electric to all my family and friends!

Kenny performed an electrical service panel upgrade on my 1958 Eichler home, and I'm glad I picked him for the job.  He and his electrician father were very thorough in their investigation of how best to run the ground wire and what the requirements were from PG&E.  This was a challenge with my home because, with no attic atop the house and no crawl space beneath the house, an Eichler home presents challenges to many contractors.  The work was impeccable and both the PG&E guy and the inspector commented on how great a job was done. Kenny also is really good with answering emails, which I loved because I like the convenience and non-immediacy of email. I also wanted some re-wiring done (and this is a pain with an Eichler, again), and even though i decided to postpone this work for the time being, they still talked at length with me about the options which is helpful when trying to plan the best approach to remodel your house while living in it.  Definitely going to be calling Kenny back for future work.

Kenny came out and replaced the wonky breakers in the electrical panel in a timely  and professional manner. I will definitely call him again if I have any more electrical issues.

Ken Perry handled many large and small electrical projects in an older house we recently bought with professionalism, skill, care, and patience as plans changed.  Most significantly he handled many of the details of a 200 amp underground service upgrade, handling the city permits, PG&E visits and inspections, and finding quotes and subcontracting a trencher and stucco repair.  He was extremely patient as this project took months to complete due to various scheduling issues out of his control.  He replaced the main electrical panel with a 200A service that will allow an electric car charger or solar panel to be added.   He also replaced an old, dangerous full-capacity sub-panel with a new higher capacity sub-panel with safe modern breakers.  He fixed illegal, dangerous wiring in the garage and installed several new outlets in the garage including a new electric dryer circuit.  He also added several new dedicated circuits inside the house we needed for high amp appliances via the crawlspace, minimizing drywall incursion to only one location.  He also rewired the the old cable coax wiring from the Comcast box through the house, connecting them into clean wall outlets rather than sticking through holes in the floor, as well as running CAT6 ethernet jacks between multiple rooms via crawlspace as well.  When I found there was an intermittent problem with one of the ethernet jacks he quickly came back in the evening after work to address the problem and replace the faulty jack, standing by his work.  Ken took care to be tidy, clean up after his work, took off his shoes inside the house, made sure we were completely happy with the completed work, and worked around some scheduling issues and PG&E policy changes with patience and professionalism.  PG&E inspectors also commented to me that he did excellent work on the 200A upgrade and they were pleased to work with him.  I highly recommend Ken for any sized electrical needs, from a large 200A service upgrade to smaller jobs like a new circuit or cable rewiring.
