A new Nest thermostat was installed  Only one option, the most expensive one, was provided. The thermostat was installed expeditiously and the installer also did $400 of additional adjustments to my 9 year old furnace and coil that I am not sure was actually needed.

It has taken me a full week to figure out how to use the new thermostat.  It was automatically turning off the hear at night into an eco mode, that I never wanted. I finally managed to get rid of the scheduled Eco mode that I never wanted, nor was explained to me.

I also had to figure out how to set up the Nest app on my iPhone, which was rather complex and confusing. I was forced to first set up both a Google account and email address, which I never wanted.
i would only recommend the Nest thermostats to people who are very tech savvy, and prefer a very smart oriented home. I am one who would have much preferred to just have a traditional and easy-to-use non-smart thermostat.

The Nest thermostat is also rather ugly and metallic-looking. Like most smart devices, I am only expecting it to last a few years.  All of my earlier thermostats lasted for decades. This is the first one that I ever had to replace. I am going to look for something to cover it up with on my wall, such as a small duvet, as none of its colors match my wall color or decor.

Needed an electrical outlet to be moved. It's required dry wall cutting and putting the outlet. The job was done very well. Caio was also very responsive and helped get the job done quickly.

Jack was the only person on Yelp, who agreed to get me out of trouble with a mess another contractor created. Hepled fix all the issues (basically redid project completely) and worked with San Jose Permit office to get everything properly inspected. Super fast in communication, always notified me upfront about next steps. We'd be lost without him. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend Velo Electric! Contacted Carlos to install a subpanel and he did a fantastic job. I contacted several other electricians but Carlos came across as someone who was very professional and honest. His price was very reasonable.
Velo Electric will be my go to electrician in the future.

Hormoz and Edwin from GES did an amazing job for us at our Bakery shop. I went on Yelp and submitted my request for a quote to change our existing kitchen lighting to LED. They contacted me right away and offered to come onsite during our business off hours so that they don't impact our kitchen's operation. After giving me full details of the job and explaining everything A to Z, they sent me the quote same day and offered to start the job next day. They did not only performed an amazing job but also a clean job.  There was no trash left behind and we were able to enjoy new lighting next day. We absolutely recommend GES. Albert is so nice and very professional. We needed a GFCI outlet added to our bathroom on its own circuit before we had scheduled retiling/paint work and Albert fit us in on short notice. Over the phone he walked me through many questions to make sure the work could be done right away and he was very helpful and respectful. Ultimately he got the outlet installed quickly, cleaned up after himself and charged us a fair rate. Thanks again!

This is for Nhan Khuu specifically. He had no idea what was wrong with our partial electrical outage and came up with some crazy theories of how our apartment was wired. Spent a full hour going nowhere. After he left we called One Touch Electric and their guy identified the problem and fixed it in less than 20 minutes. One Touch Electric showed us that it was kind of an easy fix too. $200 down the drain for one hour of conspiracy theory stories.

Let me start by saying Mike was AWESOME! My upstairs power went out over the 4th of July holiday weekend. I researched electricians near me and called about four different places. Not only did Mike respond almost immediately, but he also came by the same day, which was a Sunday. The issue was minor and didn't require any repairs, but he didn't charge anything even for the service call or his time.

He even followed up the next day to make sure everything was still working ok. That said, the other three vendors never returned my call and I have yet to hear from them. I'm a firm believer in networking and word of mouth, so if another incident comes up or someone I know needs an electrician, I will definitely send them to Tri-Phase Electric.  Mike runs a top notch shop and goes above and beyond for his clients....THANK YOU!!!

We have used James and JCM Electric many times for our new electrical circuits, panel upgrades, and lighting packages.  James and his team are not only responsive but very professional and honest.  We continue to use them for all of our electrical needs.

I contacted Gary via Yelp after submitting a request for an electrician to add two new high current circuits to my existing electrical panel.  Gary was very responsive and came by relatively quickly to quote the installation.  His pricing was very competitive and he did a great job with the installation, which was quite complex due to the long distance and many turns between the panel and the desired location of the outlets.  I've since gone back to Gary for additional electrical work and each time he has been responsive and professional, with excellent results.  Highly recommended.

Richard installed ceiling fans. He did  a great job and gave a great price.   He did not leave any mess.  He was very friendly and honest and gave us tips to save money.

The power went out to all the outlets in my living room and part of the master bedroom in the early evening. I had requested quotes through Yelp and Brayan was the quickest to respond and had a very reasonable estimate. He arrived on time the next day and was able to find the issue within the hour. Thankfully Brayan was able to fix the issue same day for a good price. If I have any other electrical issues I will definitely be contacting Brother Electric first!

Incredibly easy to contact and ask questions via Yelp messaging and iMessage texts. Set up an appointment that they were easily able to accommodate. Had 2 great electricians, Eric and Sal, who were on time with appropriate PPE and were finished installing a 220 V and 110 V outlet much faster than expected! My son and his wife live in my home in Silicon Valley. Their electric bills were over $300 so we decided to go solar. I called Coastwide for an electric service panel upgrade and solar quote last month. We are very impressed with Hewlett Electric.  Meigs got back to us within an hour to schedule an appointment for a quote.  He was here the next day and came up with a beautiful solution for installing our pool table fixture.  Two days later, Bryan, Alex and Luis came to install the fixture.  The quality of the installation was excellent and they were very professional and personable.  I would highly recommend them for any electrical work!

if you live in San Jose this is who you call for residential or commercial electrical work. been our go to crew for years.. just had new AV and home theatre installed,...perfect!

I also used Alley Electric and same rating as previous review.  He is very knowledgeable and with reasonable prices.  He had to buy some parts to fix my 1970 flourescent lights, but he did it all in a few hours.  Now I am good for another 30 years!  Wahoo!!  Thank you Wesley.  Dona

I am reviewing the HVAC department only.  I have been pleased with Juan's service.  He and his guys have been professional, responsive, and honest.  I appreciate how he has tried to fix what he can. Whatever he couldn't fix, the replacement cost was reasonable and good old fashioned quality service.  So far I have used them to replace my 40 year old HVAC at my business and one of my AC compressors at home.  I never felt pressured into anything.  I was given options to repair or replace.   I have always felt like a valued customer especially after giving them so much work.  They have given me priority service when i needed it.  I highly recommend them.
