ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
Mike has been an electrician for 25 years. His father was a union electrician and he followed in his father's footsteps after college. He started working for non union shops that had very little structure and he was looking for something more. After 4 years of working in the non union trades he jumped at the change when the union came calling for his services. Mike went into the union apprenticeship program and never looked back. After 5 years he was a qualified journeyman working large commercial jobs for Cupertino, Rosendin, and Sprig electric. He has worked at Intel, Google, Applied Materials, Microsoft, Stanford, HP, and many other of the large commercial jobs for the union. In 1998 the Army core of engineers called Mike to work at Fort Ord changing panels for the army as a part of RP Richards construction. In 2001 Mike decided to start his own business. The dot com crash was the final reason and just what he needed to make a go of it. From here is where Tri-Phase was started

Mike came out and gave a quote for kitchen recessed lighting. He suggested a different plan than a previous quoter with smaller size lights that would give plenty of coverage.
He was definitely right and I love my lights. He also suggested a dry wall repair person who patched the hole in the ceiling where the light box had been.
Good work in a timely manner and good price. Definitely recommend.

Very friendly, reasonable cost. Mike did some work on a 220 EV charging outlet a couple years ago that ran into some trouble again last week. He stopped by the next day (a Sunday) and repaired the issue at no cost or materials, even when I offered. The service, availability, and cost were worth 5 stars, but standing by work from several years ago is why he's now the Electrician in my phone.
Mike was very friendly and gave useful suggestions when he initially came to visit for a quote. His quote for installing the EV charger was comparable to another quote I had gotten. I decided to go with Mike knowing that he wasn't trying to upsell anything. He did a great job and came by to do the work on a weekend since I needed the charger installed soon.
Mike came down as promised and helped resolved the issue. I spoke with a few and had a few come down but none of them were accurate in diagnosing the issue. They also have long list of things and big bills going to $$$$. Mike came down and pointed the root cause was on the breakers and gave a very fair estimate and said you can pay me after you observe for 1 week.. Man that's honesty to the core..5 stars because :

This company promised me 2 times to come to my house to look at the problem, but no body showed up at either times!!
Exceptional service. Mike installed Tesla chargers for me twice without a single glitch. Most importantly, Mike is a really nice guy - When he came, my washer hose in the laundry room had flooded the whole area and he promptly got me his wet vac from his van and helped me eliminate the water and fixed my washer hose as well for no extra charge!

Mike was supposed to be at my house to give me a quote the *first* time on 11/6 around 11am, didn't show, and didn't let me know he wouldn't be here until I got in touch with him. He rescheduled for today 11/8 between 11am and noon. I sent him a text a few minutes after noon saying to not bother as I'm not willing to waste more of my time. He replied saying he was here at 9:55am and there was no answer at the door. He then described a house that isn't mine (claiming there are apartments next to it - there are no apartments next to my house). I was here. My housemate was here. My dogs were here. Yet none of use heard the doorbell, which rings at both ends of the house, and is quite loud.
To recap:
- Incapable of being on time or letting you know he won't be on time
- Goes to the wrong house at the wrong time
Both of which could have been solved by a simple phone call.
I was looking for an electrician who could install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in our garage for EV charging.
Mike dropped by in person to provide a quick consultation and quotation.
His pricing was the most reasonable compared to other local electricians' quotations so I went ahead and scheduled an appointment with him.
Mike completed the installation in ~50 minutes as the new outlet's location was only 1 foot away from the breaker box.
The outlet was done professionally and the work area was courteously cleaned.
I highly recommend Mike for anyone needing electrical work done as he's knowledgeable and competent with his trade.
They only accept large jobs, but was able to give me some advice on my residential issue. Super appreciate that!

Mike did a majority good work, and replied fast in the beginning, the reason to give 3 stars is because he didn't send me a final invoice after the job has finished for ~2 months and after many times reminders. Still waiting..
I called four electricians to install 220v, 110v, and a security camera in the house. These guys were the first to respond by getting Mike out to my house and take a look. They understood that each project was unique and made sure to completely evaluate the house and make sure I was getting the end result I wanted before making a quote.
Mike was extremely knowledgeable and always quick to respond to my questions. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Mike came to put in a charger for my new Tesla. He convinced me to go with a NEMA 14-50R outlet after we had a long talk about charging rates and current and my garage wiring. It was cheaper than installing the Tesla wall connector and the charge rate turned out great (30-31 mph).
I wasn't in too much of a rush, but he came back the day after he checked out my garage and gave me the estimate, even though it was a Sunday. I was impressed by his professionalism and his knowledge.
Mike and Ben just installed 4 recessed LEDs and 2 central lights for my 3 bedrooms.
I have a quite tight timeline, so I actually contacted a bunch of electricians searched from Yelp. Mike is the only one who did a field estimation.
My original plan is to install 4 recessed LEDs per bedroom, which would cost more. Mike pointed out due to two bedrooms have small size, central light with correct luminance should work. And it does, also add more design feel comparing to the original all recessed light plan.
Actually it's another review mentioning Mike did field investigation first before quote inspired me to contact him.
They finished the job four days after I contacted Mike (job itself took 2 days). All the cut down ceiling is kept (I don't have attic), room is clean, no trash.
The final price is in a reasonable range.
I won't name here, but some OTHER 5 star electrician quoted me outrageously expensive: $325 per recessed LED light! I don't know if they over-priced because I'm a single lady? But come on, I'm not stupid~~I have friends who are home owners, and one can always compare between quotes and do research online, right?
So far so good. I like the final performance of the lightenings. Will update with photos when I could capture it properly, and if anything comes up.
Right now I definitely would choose Tri-phase again for any potential electrical work.
Mike and big Ben are a great team! They communicate clearly and don't BS about the project. They came onsite spec'd out the job then come the day we had to make some last minute changes due to unforseen hack job electrical work previously done and they didn't rake me over the coals on price, stayed in my budget and didn't leave until the job was done. They are honest and trustworthy. Don't almost die trying to save money by watching YouTube videos and thinking you're an electrician, call these pros and get it done right.
Fantastic... honest, helpful, and friendly! We contacted Mike when we feared we were getting a runaround/up-sell from another contractor. Mike took time out of his day by phone to answer our questions, and even came to our house to review the situation in person and reassure us. He clearly knew what he was talking about and helped us to parse what the other contractor was telling us, giving us the peace of mind to move forward. I would not hesitate to contact Mike/Tri-Phase for any electrical services in the future.

As most consumers would do, I reached out to 8 different electricians all at the same time for a quote. Mike the owner of Tri-Phase Electric was the first to respond. He was prompt with our appointment and responded quickly every time I texted him with questions. He was very accommodating and was able to squeeze in my installation of the tesla charger with short notice. He is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me. His pricing is very reasonable, will definitely contact him for any future work that needs to be done.

While I did not contract with Tri-Phase Electric, I appreciate their responsiveness and being up-front with pricing.
Their estimate was in line with another whom I contacted and much lower than most other responses. It's taken me too long to purchase the hardware but once I'm ready I'll plan to contact Tri-Phase again.
I didn't actually go with Tri-Phase to install my NEMA outlet for a car charger, but Mike was awesome and timely when he came out to give me an estimate.
The only reason I didn't go with Tri-Phase was due to agreeing to another electrician's work before Tri-Phase was able to bid. I had too many electricians/quotes all within a short period of time so it was tough to remember coordinate all the estimates.
Mike was very understanding about me already agreeing to another electrician by the time he came to give me an estimate, and due to that, he deserves 5 stars. I have no doubt his customer service reflects on how well he does his work.

I first had Mike over to remove an ugly chandelier that came with the house and replace with recessed lighting. I had no idea what pattern to drill the lights in but Mike was patient with me and gave me his suggestion, as well as backups in case I didn't like his #1 pick (I went with his first suggestion and the lighting is perfect in my house). Mike was the only electrician that told me that we need to get the lights with higher lumens because of my high ceilings. Mike proved to me that he knew his stuff. Oh, and he charged less than the other guys.
Then I had him over to replace all the ugly light fixtures in the house, change out all the light switches, install an electric car charger in the garage, mount a chandelier from the 20 foot ceiling, and add a few GFI and regular outlets in various places around the house. After countless hours and thousands of dollars, I can confidently say that Mike is the best. He has a great personality and is super reasonable (lower than the rest).
He is awesome. Cleans up after himself. Beautiful work. Can't recommend enough.

Didn't want to take my project since they only want to take larger jobs. Apparantly residential jobs are only taken if they will make them a substantial amount of money.
I had some electricity problem at my house yesterday (some lights wouldn't turn on). I sent a few messages on yelp to some companies asking about rate and availability. Mike replied very fast. He was straight forward and mentioned he's booked for 2 weeks but offered some tips I could try myself, in details. After I tried them today, it worked.
Some other companies either didn't reply or quoted me really expensive to just come have a look (and took me 10 min to fix, and I'm sure much less time for experienced electricians to fix) .
Anyway, I really appreciate his effort. He gained nothing from taking time to message me back and forth and trying to help.

Mike and Ben were knowledgeable and did a meticulous, professional job, installing recessed lights in several rooms, chandeliers, and changing outlets and switches all over my new house.
Mike was easy to reach to get a field visit, and quoted a reasonable price (compared to 2 other electricians I spoke to). He worked around my tight schedule and actually saved me a lot of money by making smart suggestions about extra work I was considering. Installed a junction box a while ago to accommodate our new hot tub. Very knowledgeable, fast, efficient, cheery and good price. Would never use anyone else for electric work.
Mike and Ben installed recessed lighting throughout the house, along with new switches, outlets, and a bathroom vent fan. They were also able to troubleshoot some line issues and rerouted/reapportioned load to other circuits. Professional with great communication and fair pricing (didn't nickle-and-dime for minor changes). Will definitely use them again for future projects.
Mike literally saved me hundreds today for a ballast wiring lol. He's super helpful and courtesy and even it was a very simple problem , he took the time to explain lol. No one else on yelp did. Will definitely hire him for more complicated electrical problem in the future

I had a malfunctioning switch. Tech showed up as scheduled on time and had it fixed in short order. I'm very please with the service provided.
Helpful and tried to solve the problem for me - free of charge as he cannot stop by our place. Serving customers on this yelp or digital era should be tough as you have to get 5 starts from every Tom, Harry and Arun and none of them leave a review - as an exception this Arun did :).
Mike and Ben are a great team: knowledgeable, responsive, communicative, and honest. We needed a NEMA 14-50 installed in our garage for EV charging and another breaker needed to also be added to our panel. Mike came in for a quick consult and he provided us with a reasonable quote. Ben came to perform the work and everything was done precisely, meticulously and cleanly. We will call on them again for any electrical work we may need in the future.
We needed a new Chargepoint 32-Amp EV charger system installed after our 16-Amp unit died. We requested quotes from four vendors and Mike was the only one that stopped by to look at what we needed. He determined that part of our old installation could be reused and so his quote was half of the next highest quote.
Mike installed the device on a Sunday morning and it works great. He was very pleasant to work with and kept us informed. I'm very glad we hired Tri-Phase.
Mike installed excess can lighting in my home. He was prompt to provide quote, meeting at my home after hours to meet my tight schedule. His pricing was very fair and he completed the job quickly and was super clean and conscientious, cleaning carefully as he worked. I plan to hire him again for future repairs and lighting needs.

I was stuck in a difficult place. Half the lights in my house didn't work. Major 220 watt appliances where not working either. Resetting the breakers did nothing. Nothing made sense. My house needed some professional attention immediately. Many other electricians on Yelp wouldn't touch the problem. Mike from Tri-phase came out right away. He was cool, calm and collected. He knew the issue right away. Within hours we had a solution in place. Mike's technical expertise and sense of customer service is second to none. I'd give this company 6 stars if possible. I'll definitely call Tri-phase again in the future.
We needed to upgrade all our recessed lights to LED and change up a few things and were looking for someone who could help us with this. Mike impressed us with his extensive knowledge on LED lighting, latest dimmer tech including remote controlled dimmers and what to look for when choosing the perfect light. We felt very comfortable moving forward with him.
On the first day he showed up with all the goodies - beautiful new Cree lights, remote dimmers and got to work. His employee Gino was also very nice and both were very easy to work with. They were respectful of our space as we are living in the house while the work was ongoing. The project took exactly as much time as he said it would and everything turned out great!
What I really really liked about working with Mike is that he is open and honest. He itemized everything in his estimate. He was upfront about what each part cost and what his labor charges were. Another electrician we were working with earlier just gave us a final price with no real breakdown.

Let me start by saying Mike was AWESOME! My upstairs power went out over the 4th of July holiday weekend. I researched electricians near me and called about four different places. Not only did Mike respond almost immediately, but he also came by the same day, which was a Sunday. The issue was minor and didn't require any repairs, but he didn't charge anything even for the service call or his time.
He even followed up the next day to make sure everything was still working ok. That said, the other three vendors never returned my call and I have yet to hear from them. I'm a firm believer in networking and word of mouth, so if another incident comes up or someone I know needs an electrician, I will definitely send them to Tri-Phase Electric. Mike runs a top notch shop and goes above and beyond for his clients....THANK YOU!!!

Used Tri-Phase to replace some lights throughout my retail business. They were great to work with - helped me to select the exact bulbs for color temperature. Also helped me to see that there were several approaches to replacing the lights (going from fluorescent to LED) - with tradeoffs. Was very satisfied with the quality of the work and their fair price.
Mike is the absolute best. I needed a 240V electric charger installed at my house to be able to charge my new electric vehicle. Not knowing much about electricians nor electricity, I reached out to 10 different electricians on Yelp to see who could give me a quick quote. Mike was 1) extremely quick to respond and hand-held me through the process, 2) drove out to my house to personally inspect the situation to give me an accurate quote, and 3) was very affordable.
Mike came by with very little notice, and did the entire installation in about two hours. I'd go back to Mike in an instant; he was professional, dependable, and likeable. All these reviews about Mike being a 5-Star electrician are echo'ed in my review, one-hundred percent.

We made the best choice, going with Mike at Tri-Phase Electric! We had always said that one day, we will get recessed lighting in the kitchen but when our ballast started to fail and ugly plastic casing broke when trying to investigate, we knew it was time to get it done. We called around for quotes and ended up going with Mike, based on his responsiveness, great Yelp rating, and price. He was amazing! He was able to fit us in very quickly, had a great demeanor, great price, and best of all, did a beautiful job! We will recommend Mike to everyone that needs electrical work.
We needed to upgrade the lighting in our office from fluorescent bulbs to LEDs. After searching Yelp and calling numerous places to find that most electricians were not qualified to work on commercial properties, we found Mike. He was responsive and came in for an estimate quickly. Mike's estimate was half the price of the other we received so we decided to move forward.
There were some delays in obtaining the specific LED bulbs we wanted, but that was not Mike's fault. When the bulbs finally arrived, he installed them throughout our entire office in two days.
We are extremely happy with the results! LED bulbs are brighter and whiter, which is exactly what we wanted. And though the bulbs were costly initially, we will save in energy costs in the long run.
I would definitely recommend Mike of Tri-Phase Electric! The job was done well.

I was referred to Mike at Tri-phase by a lamp store for the commericial indoor lighting project in our facility which had about 1700 fluorescent light bulbs to be replaced by about 1000 LED bulbs at the end. Mike did an excellent job with very reasonable price. I highly recommend Mike without reservation.
I like Mike's experience and qualification shown during the on-site visit so I asked him to match one lowest bid I had. Mike didn't match exactly but lowered his quote that was accepted. During the course of the project, Mike patiently wholehearted met our different demands which were changing all the time, professionally unbiased advised us on the type of LED bulbs and emergency light rebuild kit for commercial building, installed new LED bulbs for different kinds of fixture/wiring some of which have emergency lighting (this demonstrated his electrician expertise), advised us and found a cheapest recycle shop for us--as you can imaging we could not simply dumped 1700 bulbs--, and took all those fluorescent light bulbs to the recycle which he didn't ask for but I voluntarily paid for his extra service.
About half-way in the project, it was obvious to Mike and me that Mike and his partner spent more time than his quote, Mike once mentioned he would loss money on this project but didn't ask for renegotiation and still took his time to finish the job professionally. I appreciated and tried to compensate some by adding two new smaller jobs which I think were still far less to compensate. I have read Yelp reviews for a long time but this is the first time I write a Yelp review--I think I owe Mike this review and it is overdue.
They helped me out with the circuit breaker issue over the phone. These guys are awesome!
Hurrah for Mike! He is a skilled, knowledgeable electrician who cares about his work and his clients. He's also straightforward, clear and very easy to work with.
Mike installed recessed lighting and a new ceiling lamp, as well as dimmers and a remote. It looks MARVELLOUS The work required some serious rewiring, but the bill came in under his initial estimate. He also fixed some of the crap and hazardous wiring in our attic, for free, even though the attic is a hot and dirty mess.
I will definitely be hiring Mike again, and you should, too.

Mike and Ben did a fantastic job installing several recessed lights, and troubleshooting problems we had with dead outlets in our kitchen. They were also able to fix a problem with the switches in our hallway. They arrived on time and had everything they needed with them. Our house is old, so things were not straightforward with the existing wiring. However, they stayed late to make sure the job was done that day. They also figured out some very creative ways to address some complicated switching requests we had for our living room. When they left, our house was clean, and there were no lose ends. They provided a very reasonable estimate up front, and there were no surprises at the end. I plan on using Tri Phase again in the near future.
I had a small electric work in my garage. I had contacted several folks on yelp. Most if not all scared us with how old my external panels are to getting me to shell out several thousands for an upgrade etc. Mike responded immediately, very analytically told me the simplest steps, showed up on the scheduled time, and finished the job in about one hour, without disconnecting any power lines. The work was professional and solid. I highly recommend his services.

Mike recently did an LED can and LED pendant light installation for our condo.
Mike is very knowledgeable (especially about leading LED lighting products and considerations), he is extremely responsive, works very efficiently and is very easy to do business with.
The kitchen and family room did not have attic access and Mike used surgical precision when installing the recessed lighting with minimal invasiveness to the dry wall.
He also anticipated the potential for issues between the drivers for the two different LED products we were installing and designed the install with a Plan B up-front, if we needed to put the lights on two separate switches down the road.
We ran into an issue with the LED pendant lights after installation which was causing some electrical humming and light flickering, but Mike quickly figured out the need for a different dimmer switch, which solved the problem immediately.
In addition, we used Mike to run the wires needed for a wall mounted TV that we were putting into the family room. He did a great job on this as well. His experience suggested we were planning on installing the TV too high and he was right.
Mike has very high standards for the quality of products and services that he uses and it shows in the work he produces.
I highly recommend Mike and I intend to use Tri-Phase Electric for future electrical needs.
Mike at Tri-Phase Electric been my go-to electrician lately, and has helped make my long and painful renovation slightly less long and painful.
TPE installed recessed LED lights throughout our entire townhouse (completely changing the feel of the place), as well as tackled several obnoxious and unexpected electrical needs like installing dedicated line for a washer/dryer, and rerouting some troublesome lines to prep for demo. It's an old and cramped place, and everything is less accessible than it should be, but each time, Mike's been responsive, professional, very fairly priced, and very easy to work with. He's also highly dedicated to customer service, and after we changed our minds about some kitchen lighting that he had already done, he threw in a good amount of free service to make sure we were satisfied.
I'd highly recommend Tri-Phase Electric for any electrical task, big or small. Mike is honest and fair, and it's clear he takes pride in the quality of his work and service.
Sent out a few requests to local electricians on a Sunday for recessed lighting installation and Mike called me within the hour and came by to scope the project that afternoon. Mike was very responsive and great communications throughout the whole project.
Mike does know about LED lights and provided a competitive quote for install 6 new lights + replacing 13 incandescent lights with LED single units. When Mike arrive, he discovered the old cans were square instead of round and the CREE lights would not work. However, Mike knew right away some options and we went with another light option that could fit. With a couple of calls, Mike's light supplier personally drove the new lights to my house (thanks Tal @ Lite Line Illuminations!).
During installation, Mike was able install the new wiring without cutting any drywall, a big plus, no need to follow up with drywall fixing. Then it was on to replacing lights on a 19' ceiling. There were a couple of hard to get to lights and with some great acrobatic and balancing skills, Mike was able to replace the old lights.
Overall, a great job and satisfied with the lights; looks really clean and great lights.
Over this past Christmas weekend I received a call from one of my distressed tenants who had no light in their living room and hall-- and their alarm was beeping. After struggling to find someone who could help fix this issue I ran across Tri-Phase Electric's yelp page. I called Mike and left a message thinking that I'd never hear back since it was a holiday weekend. But just a little while later I got a call from Mike. He couldn't make me any promises because of course he had family plans that day (Christmas Eve). To my surprise he was able to get over there and get the issue resolved very quickly and make my Tenant's Christmas --(and mine too) a whole lot more comfortable. 5 Stars for Tri-Phase Electric and Mike!!

I wanted to install recessed lighting in my house and consulted Yelp. I contacted Mike via email and he quickly responded. His rates were far more reasonable than other estimates so we set up an appointment to meet at the house. During the appointment he educated us about the efficiency and longevity of LED lights and even demo-ed by converting one of our existing can lights to show us how bright they were.
We initially wanted recessed lighting in one room and center light fixtures in a few bedrooms but when we saw how beautiful and how updated our house looked after the installs, we immediately wanted more and ended up installing recessed lighting throughout our whole house! Mike installed LED cans in our main living room that has 20 foot ceilings and they significantly brighten the room! He even helped us convert our existing can lights to LEDs, changed our bathroom fans, installed dimmers, and installed a floodlight in our backyard. Unfortunately the install days landed on a 90+ degree heat wave week but Mike was very efficient and was still friendly and upbeat.

Mike from Tri-Phase Electric is one of the most responsive people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I hired him to do a wiring job we needed quickly in November 2016 when we bought a CNC machine. He found time to fit me in and did a great job. He also guarantees his work for 5 years. So, when the machine stopped working in April, and we found out it was that the breaker blew, he immediately came out, swapped the breakers, and didn't charge me a thing, and we were right back up and running. As we moved on to a new CNC machine and a second machine this past week, he again came in with a reasonable quote and found the time to fit me in quickly. The fact that he'll work with me via text in the evening, after normal working hours, to help quote a job I knew I needed done quickly, speaks volumes. Small business owners, and hardworking people in general, will do what it takes to get the job done, even outside of normal operating hours. He knew I had a business to run and I needed the services performed quickly. He'll always give you options too, so don't be afraid to discuss alternatives. Don't waste your time with other electricians. Whether it's a small house project, or a large business project, Mike will take care of you. He's always pleasant and professional. I decided to call Tri-phase electric because of all the good reviews here on Yelp. Called on a Saturday and arranged for a meeting time and place. He seemed to be honest but he never showed up. So I decided to give the company another try. I emailed him a message that he can call me to meet at anytime and at the same place as before. He emailed that he would call. He never called or emailed.

Mike was a pleasure to work with. I asked him to install LED recessed lighting in our living room, and he was very knowledgeable, communicative, and friendly. His work was very professional and clean (he recommended that we vacuum, but it was almost spotless when he left). We went with his recommendations on the placement with the lights, and we couldn't be happier.

We hired Mike to install recessed lights and 2 fans in our 2 story town home. Mike was extremely professional and did an excellent job. In one of the rooms Mike identified a problem with the wiring that would cost us a lot. He told us about it in advance without jumping right in. He completed the job on time and was very easy to work with. Highly recommended!
I really like working with Mike on all the jobs since 2004 I have other electricians as well that I have used in the past, but I call Mike first because I know he will be fair and honest. His prices are always fair and there are NEVER any call backs after he is done.

It took three phone calls to get him to come to the house to give us a quote. He arrived on-time and was very professional asking questions to come up with his estimate. Only problem was four days later he still hadn't provided the estimate. Finally when he returned my call he said his phone erased the data. I still need an electrician so I give him all the information over the phone and he thanks me for sticking with him and promises to get the quote to me that evening. Ten days later he still hasn't sent the estimate.
Now if you're so busy that you don't have time to support a new customer than just say so. But don't string me along.
I was so happy with this company's service. Mike is a very nice, smart man. He helped me with my range electrical problems in my kitchen. He was knowledgeable, and I felt confident with him making sure the electricity going to my stove was safe. He also talked with me about installation of a new range. On his way out, he talked to me about LED lighting, and I am now considering calling him back to change out my lights!
Mike from Tri-Phase just finished installing LED recess lights in our family and living rooms today and he did an exceptional job. Mike came out for two consultations to help us get our kitchen/great room setup with recessed lights and adding an electrical socket. Dan knows his stuff and was excellent to work with. We're very happy with the end result and will be calling him back for our next project. We highly recommend him!
We've used Mike now 3 times for 2 different houses. We first used him about 8 years ago and just recently had him come out again for a bigger job. Each time he has been reliable and fast, and the work has been top quality!
This last time I called him on a Friday and he was able to stop by the next day to review what we wanted done. Within 3 days he was here doing the work. I would definitely recommend him if you are in the market for better lighting. My husband was particularly excited because he knew he wanted LED's and the last guy we talked to had no idea how to deal with them. We just got about 30 installed and they are very pretty. We even had him do under counter LEDs in the kitchen.
We also had him here working while we were away (just gave him our secrete code), since we have used him so many times we trust him. But he is also not like a lot of contractors we have had, in that he seems very friendly, young, and down to earth.
He holds himself to high standards and won't hesitate to redo the work if need be.
I just bought a house in Santa Cruz and the people who I had bought it from thought it was a great idea to convert the garage to another bedroom. Not for me so i ripped it out and put it back into a garage. When I did it I had a lot of wiring that didn't work. I don't know anything about wiring or electricity at all so got on yelp and read some reviews. Tri-phase had great reviews and another electric co. I called them both out and Mike and I hit it off very well. The other co. would even quote me a ball park. Mike came in told me what he thought it would be. I thought the price was very fair and he seamed really honest. He went ahead and did the work. It looked very clean and well looked like he takes pride in what he does. I think he said he had been doing it for something like 20 years or so. When he was all done he was less than what he ball parked me. Who does that. He impressed me and I know he wasn't just doing it just this one time. Obviously you can tell I'm impressed. I need a lot more electrical done in my fixer upper of a house and I will be calling mike and his team again.

Same-day call same-day service... Well beyond our expectations!! Had some trouble in a subpanel with and arcing (literally humming & buzzing) breaker, called and spoke with the owner (Mike)...he asked for a detailed description of the problem we were having. He then said that we had serious safety issue with this situation in our sub panel and said he would show up within the hour to take a look and diagnose but needed to call his current customer to make room for a quick service call to us us which was a huge relief. He was actually out in 25 minutes, shut off the main power and told us that he will be back to correct the problem when he was done with his pre-prescheduled appointment. Well, Mike was back just a couple hours later with parts in hand and had us back up and running and shipshape within the hour...even before my kids got home from school! Honest, fair, reliable, friendly are only a few words to describe the experience I had with this Co...beyond impressed and satisfied and thrilled that we now have a go to electrician for future needs and upgrades. I had Mike return and put more lights in my ceiling. He was again very pleasant to deal with, quick to respond, extremely knowledgable, and his prices are very good. His recommendations for where to place the lights the ceiling were spot on.. He considered the angle at which the light leaves the fixture to get them the correct distance from the walls to make the light fall evenly. It transformed my living room from a cave into an extremely pleasant place to be. The lengths to which Mike will go to minimize holes in drywall are heroic. Left my house clean and much, much nicer. Mike installed recessed lighting throughout our house last year. He provided good recommendations regarding placement and bulb selection. In the one case where we didn't take his advice, I now wish we had. He performed the work well and stuck to his original quote even when it became clear that the job was more than he bargained for. Can you give a company 0 stars? That would be my choice for Tri-Phase Electric
I hired them to install can lights in two rooms upgrade electrical/switch plates in my house and install GFI switches in the bathrooms and kitchen. I also hired them to install all of the new hallway light fixtures and ceiling fans with dimmer switches for 4 bedrooms.
I paid them 60%. They showed up when they said they would and installed the can lights, changed out the switch plates and ran the electrical for the new ceiling fans (or so I thought, read below). I believe I was at work at the time. But when I got home I discovered that they had only installed one GFI in the kitchen next to the sink, and not the other three I had asked for in my bathrooms.
I called to make sure that they would come and install the GFI's and also schedule for them to come back and install the ceiling fans and light fixtures. And then I called again, and again, and again, and again.....When I did finally get ahold of someone, Mike told me that he would send his guy over. .......still waiting.
Finally, because we really needed lights and I was 9 months pregnant at the time, I had to find a new electrician to come and finish the work. Now everyone knows that you can never hire a NEW person to finish a job for what you would have paid overall, so I believe I ended up out several hundred dollars. Also, when the new electrician came he notified me that they NEVER RAN THE ELECTRICAL FOR THE DIMMER SWITCHES ON MY 4 CEILING FANS, and that would basically run me the entire cost of running new electrical, so not only did I not get my dimming lights, I also had to eat most of the cost of the dimmer switches that I had ordered because the lighting store told me they would charge me close to a 50% restocking fee.
Bottom line, I would never, ever hire this company again and I certainly would never recommend it to anyone.
My wife and I were very impressed with Mike. As stated in other reviews, he returned my call within 5 minutes. Two other electricians we have used in the past never returned my calls. Mike solved an overloaded circuit breaker problem and replaced some old light fixtures with lower energy ones. He always kept us updated regarding his arrival time. He is knowledgable, friendly, and creative. If you want the best service possible, call Mike. You won't regret it
We needed to add an outdoor outlet and switch to power some outdoor hanging lights. Mike did an awesome job and was very helpful with advice and various options. He's also very responsive when you call or text him. I'd definitely use him again.
Had a breaker that would not reset. Called and talked Mike. He had me take a picture of the circuit and ask several questions about how the circuit was tripped. Was able to help me correct the problem on the phone. Actually made me feel good that I corrected the problem. What can I say, that is the kind of people and company that all should aspire to be. I would strongly recommend this company to all of my friends and associates.

Mike did an absolutely wonderful job. He was very timely, did the work in the time-frame that he gave us, came in as quoted and cleaned up after himself each step of the way. He put in recessed LED lights throughout our kitchen, dinette and family room. He also installed a couple pendant lights above the kitchen bar as well as did all the wiring for a new speaker system that we bought. He is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to laying out a design as well as getting it all installed beautifully. We HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who is in need of an electrician to do LED lighting.

Mike did a great job on the recessed lights he installed in my house. I found him easy to reach and communicate with, both by phone and by email. He arrived on time for every appointment/work day except one - and that day he had a good reason for being late, and called me when he knew he would be late. The work itself was clean, efficient, and well-done. So far, this would be a four-star Yelp rating from me.
What really made this a five-star job was that halfway through the work, my wife and I decided that we wanted to significantly change the job. Mike cheerfully went along with the change, and even declined my offer to compensate him for the change. Mike really knows how to make a customer happy.

Mike B is an amazing electrician. We wanted to install recessed lights in our house. When Mike visited the house, he carried all the different recessed lights. He guided me through the LED lights and we decided to go with the 4 LED lights. His quote was also reasonable and we decided to go with him.
They say that a good electrician will do minimum cuts to the drywall. Mike fits the bill. He also carries a inspection camera which has a probe to survey the inside so that he does not have to cut the drywall.
Overall the work was amazing and we installed 28 LED recessed lights. We also moved the TV over the fireplace and did a bunch of other things like putting a new electrical circuit in the garage.
Mike responded back to yelp review and we resolved the pricing issue pretty quickly. Thanks for clearing it up Mike.

MIke put some recessed lights in our living room and entry way a few years back. He did a great job, but like others have said...MAKE SURE he or you put down drop cloths! We have hardwood floors and he's left some dents behind. I would even put large flattened card board boxes for protection next time. Learned the hard way! If you're prepared, he's a good guy!

I started to collect bids on installing recessed lights in my living room a couple of weeks ago. Called a couple of contractors for estimate and the first one is Mike. He came very on time. He was friendly, and immediately gave me a very reasonable quote on LED cree-6 lights with everything included. I got another two bids from another electrician company, and a general contractor. Both electricians sound professional and showed good knowledge about lights. I like Mike's detailed recommendations on lights since I had no idea about lights yet. Moreover, Mike's price is very attractive compared to the other electrician. The general contractor's bid is similar range but I am quite confident on his recommendation.
Meanwhile, I started to do some homework about the size and sources of lights. I visited a couple of friends' home and asked around. My living room is about 8'x14'. As I learned more, I leaned towards 4-inch recessed lights. I kept exchanging emails with Mike, asking his opinions. He showed great patience and really good knowledge not only on current technology but also near future trend. In the end, he came out with a very good plan and suggested installing 4 low-voltage recessed lights for my room for now. I can upgrade them to LED in the near future. He will install hardware compatible with LED. He also cares about details, telling me he would choose dimmers that are compatible, too. Also told me a remote will be available soon that works with both low-voltage and LED lights. ...
After 10-20 emails exchanges, we set the plan and he gave me a very reasonable price with everything included.
He came in on time, and installed 8 recessed lights within one day. I also asked him to replace my old shaky power sockets which he happily did without extra charge. He even waived the cost on the sockets as well as one old switch to pair with the new two free dimmers he installed.
The whole job was neatly done and the lights turn out to be so nice. I look forward to the future upgrade but even as it is now, I am very happy.
I wish I knew his service earlier. I had some lights installation done a year ago by a general contractor. I had no idea what kind of lights to choose. The general contractor wasn't able to provide many suggestions. The experience is not comparable to Mike's service at all. I would go with his service again and recommended to my friends.
Tri-Phase Electric did a great job in my home! They installed LED can lights in my kitchen, moved and replaced a ceiling fan with a chandelier light and replaced a broken outdoor light. I found Michael Bassi on Craigslist when I was looking for a good Electrician. He came out to my house and gave me a estimate and we set up a time for him to do the work. He came promptly at the time he said he would be there and completed can lights in my whole house for me in a timely and clean manner. You could not tell I even had an Electrician their as they were very clean. I am very pleased with his work and would refer him to anyone looking for a great Electrician. Thanks Tri-Phase.

We hired Mike to do our recessed lighting installation at the recommendation of local lighting company. He gave us a very reasonable quote and also made recommendations on the layout which we ended up using. I am very pleased with service offered by tri-phase. I had recessed lights done in living room. Mike showed up on time and did work very fast. Ceiling has blown-in insulation so I was worried about getting it everywhere but he actually cleaned up during installation without any mess. Very pleased with lights and overall settings.

Mike the owner gave me some complimentary electrical advice when I had an outlet go pop after the wifey dropped a bobby pin between a plug and the outlet. Don't ask me how it got there, that's another story. Bottom line, I'd call him first for electrical services.

I recently used Tri-Phase Electric to replace the fluorescent lights in my kitchen with LED canned lights and I couldn't be more satisfied. Within a few days of speaking to Mike the job was done. Mike was very patient with all of my questions. The work was completed quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption and I really appreciated his efforts to clean up the unavoidable dust created from the construction. We found Tri-Phase Electric after reading great reviews on Yelp. We had Mike installed 24 lights in our home and they turned out looking great. Mike was very helpful explaining the different light options and what works best for lighting our home. We are very glad to go with the lights Mike recommended to us (LED lights). They really make our home look nice and bright with professional installation, friendly service, great price, and overall, Mike is a great guy. He even came out to put the lights back up after our home contractor finished with the house painting (free of charge..just a friendly smile). Mike even came out to redo one of our kitchen lights for free (we put the kitchen cabinet too close to the existing light). He's awesome! We will definitely have Mike come back to put more LED lights in our master bedroom (and maybe the rest of the bedrooms later on).
