Reviews
Alley Electric and, in particular, Chris, of Alley Electric, are top notch - professional and reliable - just the best. In fact, when another Electrician (Formosa) could not make it - he said, Chris is good
I feel lucky to have found Alley.
I called to schedule to get an estimate for a dedicated circuit. Lady promptly answered, was nice/friendly when scheduling but I explicitly mentioned that I'm in a unit in a complex when giving my address. I waited a week and blocked out my afternoon to wait for them to come for the appointment. When they arrived, he immediately said, We don't work on apartments, only single family homes so can't do the appointment. I was naturally frustrated and asked why they didn't tell me that when I scheduled. He responded with no empathy or apology (which is the main reason that I'm writing this now), he only restated that they don't work on apartments. I understand mistakes happen but he made no effort to apologize for wasting my time (after I explicitly stated my frustration that my time had been wasted) and maybe even recommend someone else.

I was looking to get my Tesla charger installed on a fairly short notice and these guys delivered! Very responsive team and the price was good. The team also cleaned up the garage after installation and overall it was a great experience! Highly recommend if you need an EV charger installed.

Needed to wire proper plug for my EV. Reached out on Monday. Wesley came out on Tuesday and looked at what needs to be done. Sent me a proposal first thing Wednesday morning. I agreed and tech was out on Thursday. Couldn't be happier. Quick and easy. Quality work. Thank you!
Alley upgraded our electric panel for air conditioning and we couldn't be happier with the quality of the work as well as how well the experience was with Wes and his crew.
They did really clean work and have a good relationship with the city inspectors, it was all very fast, efficient, and painless. The team is also nice and we enjoyed their company for the couple of days they were on site.
Now that the AC company is here they complimented alleys work on securing the panel and how easy it was for them to work with.
Thank you so much!

I got my main panel and water main grounded from them. They are very honest company to work with. I am saving their contact for all my future electrical projects.

We are so happy with their work. They installed recessed lights in our living room, wall sconces, new switches with dimmer and replaced old ceiling fan in our guest room. They were so polite and easy to talk to. They got here on time and finished their work on time. I will definitely hire them again and will even recommend them to my relatives and friends.
Arrived on time and completed the work promptly. Great service. Highly recommend this company.

The folks from Alley Electric did a great job fixing a tripping GFCI receptacle problem I was having with all the rain this winter. Very prompt with quoting and following through to get the job done. Highly recommend!
Alina managed communication very well throughout the project of installing new electric connections in exteriors of our house.
I really liked the professionalism and promptness at all the steps:
- They sent a person to take a look around for an estimate.
- Received a quote on time. They are not extravagant, but a little on the higher side of the charges. But this reflects in the quality of the work and professionalism of their electricians.
- Special shoutout to Patrick and Corey who worked on our project. Very clean and respectful electricians. They finished the whole project in 6 hours when a lot of other bidders told us that they would take more than a day. They left the place immaculate after the work was done.

We hired Alley to move a 220v electric range receptacle down closer to the floor so we could push our range right against the wall. I can move a 120v outlet, but 220v scares me so I wanted an electrician to do it.
Alley responded promptly, asked a few questions, gave me a good bid, and we scheduled for next day. It was raining when Chris and Danny came. They explained their plan before cutting into our wall, and explained changes to their plan as the work progressed and they learned more, and answered my questions clearly. Each time they came in from their truck, they put on shoe covers or took of boots to keep our floor clean. After they finished the electrical work, they swept up the floor where they worked.
We would definitely hire them again.
Time to do a review for something I've been putting off for awhile....Figure while shelter-in-place it was a good time to get an inspection on my electrical, add some outlets and finally, get things up to code.
Decided on Alley Electric as my sister had used them upon referral from her neighbors. They all had a great experience (and of course, after checking Yelp!) knew i wouldn't need to worry.
1st visit: ESTIMATE
Wesley, the owner came over to give me an estimate: additional outlets, new LED lighting for the garage, and to correct some questionable switches/outlets. Arrived as promised, answered my questions, mentioned he would email the estimate and was out in 30mins. Estimate emailed, scheduled an appointment and agreed upon a date which was simple.
2nd visit: REQUESTED ITEMS
Chris came out to do the work along with Wilson his assistant ...both arrived when promised, efficient, friendly and started the all day job of installing outlets, replacing the garage fixtures, checked all outlets (to ensure they were grounded), did an inspection and made recommendations. Chris was extremely helpful and approachable with answering any questions.
3rd visit: FIXING RECOMMENDED ITEMS
This was for work that was recommended...not an inexpensive job but definitely items that needed to be done for peace of mind and to bring items up-to-code. This was another all day job with 3 people working this day...Chris lead this effort along with Wilson and Jordan to assist...all were very professional, and efficient.
Overall, happy that I used Alley Electric to do the job as coordinating and getting clarification on items (via email) was fairly easy. Down the road there may be a 4th visit of upgrading the panel in the garage but that can wait...I can't vouch if they were the most competitive in pricing but mainly went with them as they were highly recommended and the great reviews on Yelp! ;)
Thanks Wesley, Chris and crew
Note: Unfortunately, a small hole (size of a dime) was made by mistake on my wood floor which they patched...fortunately, it's along the wall and not too noticeable...mistakes do happen and appreciate they pointed it out vs trying to hide it.
Thankie S.

Short review, but we engaged Alley Electric with two electrical issues in our home, with an incorrect video-cam doorbell wiring, and replacement of older recessed halogen lighting. Both times Alley Electric were incredibly professional with their responses, estimated quotes, and timeliness with their scheduled jobs.
For those that care, the engaged electricians all wear masks to be respectful to the household owners, and staff wear booties coming into your house to make as little mess as possible. The cordial manners and professionalism go a long way in addition to the finer details.
This is the second time we went with Alley Electric so yelp is not letting do a new review. Not sure how this will show up on Yelp but I wanted to tell everyone that Alley Electric is the way to go for all of your electrical needs. This time we needed to install Tesla home charger. Wesley is knowledgeable, personable and clear on needs/expectations. The install team Chris and team were on time, courteous and explained everything in detail. We had an episode with city inspector and Alley electric willingly gave work around without charging additional fees. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Sorry for the late post! Alley Electric did a couple of electrical jobs for me installing an electrical outlet outside and adding recess lighting in my front room. They did an awesome job. Very professional and arrived on time and when they said they would.

Chris from Alley Electric came down.
Problem: light fixture not working
Quick diagnosis: bad switch at the wall
Quick fix: new switch installed that he had in his truck
Good job!
This is my second time using Alley Electric. Chris is absolutely awesome. He came in, got right to work and finished project within 30 minutes. I highly recommend Alley Electric. This is the second project Chris has worked on for me. He know when he is doing and the company very reasonably priced.

Our bathroom fan needed to be replaced, so we called Alley Electric and they sent someone out that same day. Chris was awesome; super knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He showed up on time and swiftly replaced the fan. We are extremely pleased with service. Thanks Chris and Alley Electric!
This was our second experience with Alley Electric and again we were very happy with them. Chris arrived right on time, very quickly sourced the problem to a breaker, had one of same type in the truck so he could replace it immediately, and afterwards proceeded to make sure that all the outlets were working. We asked him for a couple more quotes on putting a 240 volt line in the garage and installing some GFCI outlets. In a few minutes he had specced out the outlets for quotes, discovered the limiting factors in our infrastructure for the 240 circuit, suggested a potential workaround, along with pros, cons, and a ballpark quote. Chris was very professional, efficient, friendly, and happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for the great job!

This team is the best! Wesley has come to my house a few times, and his team to install a higher voltage outlet for my new electric vehicle, as well as updates and additional outlets for the home. The work was perfect! Wesley and his team (wife included) really went beyond! i highly recommend them :) Great people plus excellent work!

Wesley did an awesome job installing my Tesla wall charger. My main panel is directly behind it so installation was clean. He was able to install it at the perfect height and did the install without interrupting power to the house while I was working from home. I will definitely use Alley Electric for future electrical projects.
I hired Alley Electric for a straight-forward job (replace a burnt electric outlet) and it was done quickly and well.
A big factor in hiring Alley is that they provided an estimate when I requested it on Yelp. For such a straight-forward job, it was amazing how all of the other electricians I contacted on Yelp and Angie's List would not provide an estimate until after entering the home. By going with Alley, I saved a bit of time, hassle, and probably expense too.
Fantastic company! It's great to find reputable and professional contractors. I will most definitely engage Alley Electric again for more work. Chris performed excellent troubleshooting and repair work restoring power to a few troublesome outlets. Particularly the furnace so I had heat again, much appreciated!
Alley Electric is a wonderful, reliable and cost effective. I moved into the new house and needed a lot of work. Chris visited the place, took note of work needed. The back office provide a quote is 2 days. The scheduled date was confirmed at time of accepting the quote.
On scheduled date, they were right on time to come and completed the work within the estimated time that was provided earlier. They crew cleaned the area and was super friendly. I will be reaching out to them again in future for all my electrical repairs.

Set up an appointment with Alley, but no one showed up. The person I booked the appointment with sounded very unenthusiastic about a potential paying customer.
See ya...
i've had alley come out for two projects that included added new outlets, converting our light switches to dimmers and fixing some issues with our internal switch box. they were very communicative and did great thorough work. would recommend again for any of your electrical needs. 10/10
Electricity went out in one room, none of the ceiling lights were working and we tried flipping every breaker switch before giving up and looking on Yelp.
Wow, a true 5 star business, cannot recommend Alley and Wes enough. Communication was on point with very fast replies and a clear window for when Wes would arrive as well as a courtesy call when on the way.
Wes got right down to business with a very fair quote and once we agreed on his price he immediately got to work professionally and quickly. It was clear he had all the tools and equipment necessary to fix the majority of problems people and businesses would have in their home.
Thank you Wes for getting our electricity working again, it was a great experience and we wish more business were like yours!

Got a wall outlet installed. No complaints. Guys were friendly. Arrived on time. Quick response.
I hired Alley Electric to install an electric dryer outlet in my dad's garage. From the start, they were responsive by getting a guy out the day I called to inspect the job. Got the quote a couple of days later & the price was what I expected. They scheduled the job a week out, arrived on time & completed it in one day.

We had a number of serious electrical problems at our house and Alley Electric was able to give us good advice and prompt service. We feel that we have finally found a trustworthy and reliable electrical contractor that we can call again when needed. I happily recommend and thank Alley Electric (Wesley, Patrick and Daniel)!
Chris came by and did an excellent job helping us with our home! He installed some new lights and switches for us, in the process fixing several of the mistakes made by someone else we had previously hired. In the end, he made sure we understood what he had done and were comfortable with our new setup. He was friendly, professional, punctual, tidy -- all the good stuff! Thanks for the great work :) It was a pleasure working with Chris and Wesley.

Very responsive with great follow up would gladly hire again. Because electrical issue was intermittent it was difficult to solve.
We recently purchased an EV and needed a new electrical outlet installed in our garage to support Level 2 charging. We asked for a few quotes and Alley's quote was very competitive.
Once we agreed upon a date and time for the installation, they showed up on time, completed the job efficiently and with very high quality work. After installation, I had a few questions and they responded very quickly even during off-business hours.
Once we got the EV, the charger worked like a charm.
Had a great experience with them, would happily use them again and recommend to others.
My power in one room went out due to a fried wire behind an outlet. Chris and Daniel from Alley Electric came out the same day and fixed it quickly. Chris also provided information on electrical issues in an older house. I was very happy with the quick and expert service
Have an old house with some funky electrical. Alley fixed everything up so light switches finally make sense!! So easy to work with, from Alina on the phone to Wesley coming out for an estimate to the crew doing the job, everyone was a pleasure to work with. And reasonable!!

Great experience with Alley Electric. I had three rooms losing power and was about to plan for rewiring the circuit. Chris was excellent! He did a thorough investigation and was able to find the root cause and fixed that very quickly, and helped me to avoid a much bigger project! He also helped me to add an external plug for festival lighting, which was also quickly and nicely done. Definitely recommend him and this business.

Prompt and excellent service. Professional and reliable. Chris was very good and professional. Chris started in the morning on time and finished late night. Chris was very knowledgable about my electrical panel and today the City inspector passed the inspection. Chris also follow up to make sure all is went well with the City Inspector. I would high recommend Alley Electric. Chris did an outstanding work!! Awesome job Chris.

We had Alley Electric add new ceiling fans , switches , and install a new bathroom ceiling fan / heater . The electricians were professional and thorough in completing the project . Also appreciated the good house keeping upon completion of the their work. We asked Alley to take on a more difficult wiring issue on in our house , so they sent there journeyman Chris who was able to spearhead the problem . He was more then willing to take the time to explain how he had resolved the problem . It was obvious that Chris had acquired a lot of knowledge and experience in his field of work . Chris and his coworker displayed professionalism to the T . My wife and I are more than pleased with Alley Electric . They will definitely have more work at our residence in the near future.
Wesley and Alina run a wonderful business. I hired them to my place twice in the past two months. The first time was to have repairs done to my kitchen wiring. Jordan came out and diagnose the problem very quickly. The second time was to replace 3 bathroom exhaust fans and two sconce lights. Jordan had taken measurements for me when he came the first time, so I was able to buy the right size fans. Wesley, Jordan and Wesley's daughter came by today and replaced everything in 1.5 hours. They are so professional and efficient.
Alley always answers their phones promptly. Alina knows the business so she can tell you everything when you call - how much, what goes into the cost or how fast she can get someone by to give an estimate. They always arrive when they say they will and I don't have to follow up. That is a very rare thing in today's contractor industry. I had emailed three other electricians from YELP when I was looking for help, and two of them did not answer. The only one that got back to me did so after I sent two emails over 3 workings days. I never got an estimate from him.
Wesley and his team did a great job on fixing all my long neglected electrical repairs. What I greatly appreciated was his suggestions on improving upon what I had originally thought I had wanted. Everything works great now. Thank you.
I don't quite understand how Yelp does their search results but I sure got lucky finding Alley Electric.
While it wasn't exactly an emergency, I needed help fast because an electrical short was interfering with medical equipment. The problem was due to some not-so-proper hookups and I just wanted to fix it safely.
Can't say enough about Alley Electric. After being ghosted by more electricians than dates, I was thinking something must be wrong with me! Enter Alley Electric. They were responsive, professional, reasonably priced, and efficient. I can finally relax knowing that everything is up to code...and that I can finally do laundry.
Highly recommend and will definitely give them a call for future projects.
I had a 70 year old triplex that needed rewiring. I contacted about 6 companies without any luck. It was a HUGE job. My appraiser recommended Wesley and Alley Electric after having a lot of work done at his place. I didn't have much hope but Wesley came out and actually took photos, measurements. He checked in the crawl space. These are flat roof units so he had to figure underground work. Like I said, major work. Wesley delivered a REAL quote based on what was needed! I had 2 tenants. One was very accommodating, one wasn't. We worked a way to cause minimal disruption, but it became quite stressful. Chris, Enrique and Kato were very patient. This became a 2 week ordeal that I honestly can't imagine anyone handling it better than Wesley's crew. Oh, did I mention Wesley and his wife were in Europe celebrating their anniversary put off due to Covid. There was a daily check in! Alley is on my list when I'm ready to rewire another unit!

AWESOME TEAM WORK - is the first thing what comes to my mind when talking about Alley Electric!!
Both My husband and I are living here in Fremont, CA since a decade and first time ever impressed by such amazing service, prompt response and working with client's schedule and time frame.
Thanks Wesley and Alley electric team for helping us with the Recess lightings and great recommendation for the fittings.
Huge huge thanks to Chris, Alley electric team member, for managing my home project and making sure everything is done in a timely manner and extremely clean way. The entire team are subject matter experts and Chris helped us figure out the issue we had with one of our dimmers and connection while working on this project.
I love the new recess lights in our home and would definitely ask for Alley electric's help for anything electric work around my home in future.
Highly recommend this company to everyone!
They came to my home install some Led lights
Under my kitchen cabinets Jordan and Helper

Place (Enrique) but overall they complete the
Job i would recommend them and I hire them
Again for electrical work!!!waiting on my
Receipt great job !!!!!Thanks for Receipt delivered
On time as promise great !!!
What a find. I would give Alley Electric 10 stars if I could. Very professional work, a real pleasure to work with.
Alley electric is higher priced than others. Alena, who i spoke with, returned my call immediately. She asked me for pictures and she was so helpful. Her promptness to my question had me go with Alley. One other company i contacted was very slow to answer my question. He was $200 less but wasnt attentive to my questions.
Jordan was the electrician who came out to install my nema outlet for my Tesla charger. It took him about an hour. He was on time, wore a mask and very customer service friendly. He did a great job. The reason for 4 stars is due to pricing, otherwise i would have given 5 stars. The install was simple. Did not need to run any cables across the garage since it was placed right under my subpanel. 1 hr of work cost me $600. I think that is steep. Nonetheless i am happy to have my charger outlet i can plug in. What a convenience. Thank you alena and jordan.

Alley performed 2 separate electrical jobs for me. Installing 2 ceiling fans, canned lights and switches. They also ran a new 20 amp line to my attic for future hookups. Great response, great job. I found they were a little higher than others but the quality was worth it.
owners looked at the electrical junction box and wires, provided a quote. Chris arrived on time, diagnosed and fixed the problem. He cleaned up after the job, and he went to every outlet and switch twice, to make sure everything was working correctly after turning off the circuit breakers.
very happy we went with Alley Electric! Would highly recommend Chris and Alley Electric for your electrical needs.
What a wonderful experience it was to work with Alley Electric. Wesley made the bidding process quick and efficient while patiently answering all my questions. His work crew equally far exceeded my expectations. So courteous and flexible throughout, all the while clearly communicating their actions and getting the job done.
I love the outcome! Thank you.
I just completed two projects with Alley Electric, and I can't say enough good things about them. The first project was a small one, installing a nest doorbell and swapping a duplex outlet to a quad. Jordan came out, mask on, gave a quote, and was able to schedule the work for later that week. Jordan and Chris came back showed up on time, got the job done, in and out within an hour or two, no mess, no fuss.
The second project was a larger one, where we installed 10 recessed lights, 6 in our living room, 4 in our bedroom. Scheduling this job was a little more tricky since it would require them to be here for about 6 hours, but again, Jordan and Chris arrived on time, and got the job done. One thing to note, and they do mention this on their quote, as well as in person, that they will likely need to cut holes, and they do not do drywall patchwork. You'll need to get someone else to handle that, but thankfully Wes was able to provide us with a great recommendation.
Great customer service! I got a consultation over the phone and able to get appointment the same day or the choice to schedule. Wesley is very friendly, thorough and was able to explain my electrical situation that was easy to understand. He took care of it right away! Highly recommend!

They did great work and were reliable. PG&E was not as easy to deal with. Glad that my electrician was on top of things!
I meant to review this right after the work was done in May...but got sidetracked! I was looking to have an outlet put in the master bathroom. And what can I say, I am a yelper so I went to the resource! And Alley Electric got wonderful reviews.
So I called and set up an appt...Wesley came out and assessed the job and gave me a reasonable quote. I made the appt to have them come out and with an hour or so...they were in/out and even cleaned up the mess!
I really like their professionalism and timeliness! If you need a job done...do yourself a favor and consider Alley Electric! And no they didn't pay me to do this review! :=)
Very responsive, actually came onsite to provide a quote. was very detailed in the process and completed the job efficiently. and very flexible too.
Job came out perfect and exactly as presented.
I called yesterday and got a quote from Alina. Today, Wesley and Alina showed up and finished the job in an hour. They also did a minor task as well. They will now be my go to resource for future electrical needs
Great work gents! Had a few troubleshooting issues I needed worked on and a new outlet installed. The quote came back quickly. Scheduled it for a few weeks out. Instead they called me asking if I could get it done even sooner.
They arrived earlier than expected but fortunately my wife was home.
Work was quick and efficient. They tried their best to keep the place clean, even swept around their work areas afterwards - which is more than you can expect from most contractors. And even better, no added unexpected cost!
Everything about our transaction was quick and pleasant. I would recommend them for any electrical work you need done.

Wes and his team have helped me with a few projects over the years at my house as well as my parents. The work is high quality and the team was responsive and professional in the 3-4 times I've worked with them. I would highly recommend Alley Electric for any project- small or large.
This company is very professional and does a great job! Communication is very important to me. I want to know how things are going to be done and what are the options . They really listen to my questions and explain in detail what they would be doing. They cleaned up after the job was done. I had lights replaced, rings installed, smoke detectors and co2 detector. The crew worked together very well and got the job done No Issues, No stress thanks guys

Very professional. Came to check on a work that another electrician quoted $7K for. Explained the situation and let me know that I don't need to do the work right now. Thank you.
They did a great job previously with the charger installation, so I called them up again for help to install 2 outdoor outlets. They were quick to respond and the job was clean. They were also very cautious about COVID and always had their mask on when talking.
We asked many project in this place. They are always very reliable and quick work, clear explanation.

Wes Immediately responded to my email, came to do estimate and scheduled install of new fixtures. Crew was very professional, wore masks, booties and cleaned up well. I would highly recommend Alley Electric. They'll be my new go to for future jobs.
Charmaine
We did not move forward with the project we inquired about but they were very prompt worth their response, came out quickly to give us a free estimate and actually recommended an easier & cheaper solution. Thank you!

I have called him up twice now. The guy is very responsive. His pricing is more than fair. Arrives on time, wears his mask. Does great work. What more can you ask for. If you need something electric, call him up, email, yelp, he responds to all of them promptly.

This review has been long over due! I reached out to Alley Electric to get our doorbell replaced. He was super accommodating, professional, fast and COVID compliant. I was very happy with the results and I would recommend this company to everyone!
This is an overdue review for work done in 2017. The work involved installing a few ceiling fans (with fixtures, as there were none prior) and light fixtures. Starting from the initial quote stage, the service was extremely professional and polite. Wesley came in for an initial inspection, and then sent a detailed quote. He communicated clearly what their end of the work would not cover (such as patching the holes they needed to cut in the drywall). His staff arrived on time and promptly completed the job with good workmanship.
I will certainly use their services again.
Alley Electric helped us to upgrade our main electrical panel (property near WarmSpring Bart area). The entire crew from the Owners to the crew were very professional, thorough with excellent follow ups. We never have to guess what will be next as they informed us ahead of time.
They did not waste too much time while on-site. Job was performed with speed, quality and thorough clean-up with excellent communication.
Their rate for the scope of work was very reasonable. And we were very confident Wesley and Team would do an excellent job for us. Many Thanks.
We highly recommend AlleyElectric.
(Note : we suggest using PG&E's service for the trenching, if required. With this, No confusion whether trenching meeting City's spec).
Alley Electric was very easy to work with. They arrived on time for our scheduled estimate and explained all work required to get the job completed.
After agreeing with their estimate and scheduling an appointment, the two electricians (Chris and Azu) arrived on time installing my a Tesla Wall Connector. They cleaned up their surrounding areas and ensured all worked well prior to leaving. Great job Alley Electric! Will do business again with any future electrical work.

I've been working with Wesley for over ten years. There isn't any job too big or small that he hasn't been willing to work on. Always on time. Always honest and professional. Always fair pricing. You won't be disappointed.

Came on time, finished in 3 hours. Very easy communication, did a good job of installing recessed lighting, ceiling fan and other small things. They also cleaned up after doing the job.
Not sure if it something that could have been reduced or it's just the nature of the work, but they cut open many holes in dry wall, now I have to find somebody to fix those holes.

Wesley is a great professional.
Super easy communication by phone, Yelp and e-mail. Wesley gave suggestions on how to install Ethernet wall jacks and an outlet in our bathroom, and understood when we decided to only proceed with one part of the project. We also chatted a bit about pets during the free assessment and, let's be real, that was the biggest factor in what sold me--even before the bid, haha!
On the day of the work appointment, he was done quickly and with a smile. We would absolutely love working with Alley Electric again. Thank you!
I had contacted Alley Electric for light fixtures and ceiling fan installation. I had Wesley come in for a quote and Chris to do the installation for me. Chris was very professional - arrived on time, wore shoe covers , gloves and mask. He made sure the installation was the way I wanted. Will definitely go with them for future installations.

Alley Electric was able to come by for a quote and perform the service the same day we called. They were prompt with communication and reply quickly. We needed a breaker replaced and the service person was great about showing the problem and explaining what he was doing and was super friendly. He also fixed a few screws that were missing on a different part without having to ask. Alley is definitely our go-to option.

Quick and efficient, new exactly what he was doing...
We needed the exhaust fan replaced in our bathroom, as our 50-year-old fan was dying. They recommended a replacement brand, which was also recommended by Amazon users. They then came in and replaced it, quite smoothly, and cleaned up well after themselves. Very well done.
Wesley's guys made quite a big mistake when fixing my ceiling fan, but I let them know and they promptly came back to rectify it for free. I think the problem may have been that they're in such a hurry. Both times they've come, they've left trash behind them. This time they also left the living room circuit breaker tripped. But hey, maybe this speed is why their prices are good.
Fantastic. Super responsive and got the job done!! Definitely will recommend. Thank you!!

Excellent work by Chris. I will use Alley Electric for all my projects. Today Chris was able to troubleshoot outlets and label the electrical panel. Future work includes labeling the electrical panel, installing a ceiling fan/switch and upgrading lighting. All COVID-19 compliant. Very professional, polite and on time.
I used Alley Electric to install recessed lighting in my living room. I was impressed by their efficiency and professionalism. I thought the job might take all day, but they were done in about 4 hours leaving the place just as clean and tidy as when they started.
We were in the midst of recovering from a partial flooding of our house when we discovered that 3 of the 4 electrical outlets in the living room did not work. We were not sure if it was from the flooding that got to the wiring. We got a reference for an electrical company from the company who did the drying out of our house but they couldn't get to our house today and we wanted it checked out today. We didn't know if we had a fire hazard. That first electrical company recommended we try Alley Electric. Words can't express how grateful we are for Alley. Chris showed up this afternoon and proceeded to follow the current to see where the problem started. It happened to be the porch light of all places!!!! He was persistent, took his time, was thoughtful with putting covers on his shoes. Our house is still a disaster as we have furniture all over the place so flooring can be replaced so he had to make his way around the mess and was so careful. An extremely polite young man, very friendly. I asked him to check out an outlet upstairs and he didn't hesitate to do that and gave recommendations and then a problem outlet in our dining area. What a great asset Chris is to Alley. This is the first time we have used Alley Electric and it will be the first one we call on if we have any other electrical problems in the future. You won't regret one bit using them if you have problems. Thanks, Chris, it was a pleasure meeting you today
Some of our kitchen outlets went out so we called these guys. They were able to come by quickly, figure out the problem and fix it in no time, for a reasonable pre-quoted flat fee. Definitely my go-to electricians now.

Wesley and his wife are awesome. They did a 200 amp service upgrade at my home about 6 years ago now. I had an old Federal Pacific Stab-Lok electrical panel with 100 amp service that was super dangerous.
They had a really hard time working with the PG&E crew and engineers that were either late or a no-show throughout the job of upgrading to the 200 amp feeders to the new panel. Wes had the patience of a saint and I'm forever grateful for the professionalism and neat job that he did.

Very responsive and accommodating. Wesley was able to fix my breaker that kept tripping and affecting another breaker due to previous electrical installs (wasn't my fault...no pun intended) Anyways he was professional and left things in safe and clean conditions. Looks like I got a new electrician. Thanks for being able to service my area! Stay safe!!

This team is fast, on the ball.
Got appt same day, two people showed up. 30 minutes of work.
Replacing circuit breakers and check a few things, done! Gone!
No complaints, no bull, professional. Thanks.
Good service, reasonable price. A+ on communication and was respectful of the property. Would recommend
5 stars for excellent service from Chris. Chris gave me a courtesy call 10 mins prior and arrived on time. Very friendly and even offered to remove his shoes!!! Most of time I have to awkwardly ask service professionals to remove shoes, so I really appreciated that!
I told him my problem and he was able to resolve it in minutes. He located the GFCI reset in the garage and viola all the outlets in the bathrooms were working again!!! He explained how the outlets are all connected and can be reset.
Overall, happy with service. Chris is very professional, courteous and knowledgeable! Thanks Chris!

All I can say is, this is by far the greatest service I've ever experienced in any business!!!!!!
Alley electric was extremely prompt to arrive at my house as scheduled and Wesley was extremely knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and had an amazing sense of humor! But most of all, the job was done professionally and they cleaned up the mess after! WOW~
Now by adding an extra power outlet I have an option to install an electric bidet toilet seat (Woohoo!!)

Alley Electric did a terrific job replacing a manual dial thermostat with a programmable digital model at my mom's home for controlling some electric baseboard heaters.
I requested a quote through Yelp, and Wesley responded back in about twenty minutes. The earliest that he could come out to take a look at the job and quote it was in a week. It wasn't urgent, so that was fine.
He arrived on time, and had called to let me know he was on his way. He took a look at the old thermostat, heaters and surroundings to determine which thermostat would be the best fit.
The next morning I received an email proposal, including a link to the thermostat that he was planning to use. The quote was reasonable, so I accepted. Three days later Westley came out and installed, programmed and verified that the new thermostat functioned correctly.
I was very pleased, from start to finish with Alley Electric, and highly recommend them.

We had 2 issues. (1) We had a breaker tripping when we turned on all the stovetop burners and had the oven was on - think of Thanksgiving dinner cooking and (2) the breaker for the microwave would trip if a hair dryer was used in the bathroom. These are issues that didn't happen everyday but from a safety and resale value of the house (someday), they needed to be take care of.
They fixed both issues, by replacing the stove/oven breaker with the correct one and ran a new line and receptacle for the microwave.
It was very reasonably priced and they got it done quickly. Very professional and business like.
I would recommend these folks for any electrical work. In fact I'm having them give me a quote for some additional work to get a circuit in my gazebo in the backyard.

Alley did a very professional installation of 8 recessed LED ceiling lights in our master bedroom. Wesley came on the day and time scheduled and gave us an estimate w/in 2 days. We then scheduled the work. He and his crew of 2 showed up on time and were done the same morning w/ no damage to the ceiling or walls. Plus they were friendly and professional.
His electrician was careful to go over the layout w/ me. We made small adjustments before he cut holes to make sure the installation was just right. As an Architect, I am very particular and am happy to refer Alley to my peers, clients and friends.
I am a repeat customer with Alley. I needed a motion sensitive light installed in new location. I was able to get an appointment quickly, about 7 days from when I submitted the form. I exchanged emails, with photos, per their request so that they had an idea of what might be involved ahead of time.
This morning (22 October) I got a courtesy call as they were 15 minutes away from my house. They arrived right when they said, Jordan and Azu (sp?) . We talked about the placement. They discussed the installation, pipe versus UF wiring, with their boss - via text - before they proceeded.
I think it was done in about 30 minutes? I went out and Jordan walked me through the installation, placement and settings. UF wiring was the preferred choice, since it runs under a deck and into a basement.
As always Alley Electric provided reasonable, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
Thank you!
This review is long overdue - but we had them come out and install some electrical for our new hot tub. They were reasonably priced and got the job done ASAP.
Cut to a few months later - and our hot tub isn't working. Within 24 hrs of calling them, they came out to troubleshoot and help try to fix the problem. Fortunately the electrical they installed was all working great - it was just the hot tub that needs to be fixed.
Would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. Trustworthy, hardworking, and reasonably priced.

highly recommend Alley Electric for all of your electrical needs. the experienced team helped us move our existing dining room light over to a better, more suitable location. they did a great job, worked quickly, and were respectful with our property. look forward to saving Alley in my contact book so that i can work with them again in the future.
Needed my electrical checked out due to power brown outs. Came on time. Professional and knowledgeable. Discussed various options and costs. Turned out to be minor issue which he fixed. Reasonable visit charge. Others may have tried to sell me $$$$ of unnecessary work. Overall Honest Company honest people reasonable prices and knowledgeable. What more can you ask for. I have them on my contact list as a go to service. Don't need to shop around anymore
The work done is acceptable, the staff though is not concerned with your time or property.
Initial work was scheduled for two full days. The staff showed up hours late on the first day, and by the end of day two were unable to complete the work. During this period they dropped a power tool on the hardwood floor and left a sizable scar which they deigned not important to bring up or fill.
Finishing the work, as they were not able to complete it in the time estimated, would need to be scheduled at a later date. Which, because of their work load was months in the future. Leaving wires coming through holes in the walls for months.
Alley then missed the scheduled date and had to push off. Once they eventually arrived back they completed the work, while dropping another power tool on the hardwood, creating another scar -- this was at least brought to my attention and filled. When inspecting the work after they left I came across a sizable unpatched hole in a wall, which I'll need to patch and repair.
The work is functional but they are careless. You can do better.
Edit: They also managed to render a light fixture unmountable on the ceiling, by unintentionally snapping off support pieces, and left it up to me to replace the perfectly good light fixture they broke.

In and out in under 20 mins to fix my flickering light switch. Turns out my panel has some bad whatchacallit that were frying the circuit breaker. They noticed a few other breakers were also showing signs of distress/burning so replaced and move the circuit breakers to other parts of my panel. Fast and efficient!

Chris and Michael were my two electricians, for a collection of fixes (GFCI outlet conversions, a light switch replacement, and some re-wiring of the garbage disposal). They arrived when they said they would, answered all of my questions, and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Would definitely hire them again.
We had issues with one of our outlets as well as breaker box issues. We contacted Alley Electric and the quote was reasonable, they were responsive and professional. They fixed and troubleshooted our issues and were prompt and knowledgeable. Even went to the store to pick up a part for our breaker and quickly found where the issue was with the broken outlet. Thanks a ton, we highly recommend Alley Electric!
Wesley initially came out to diagnose an electrical issue in our house and completed the necessary fixes. He and his team replaced a subpanel in our garage; conducted some follow-up troubleshooting of the wiring job, pulled all the permits; and scheduled and attended the inspection. Wesley was very professional and promptly resolved any issues with the work that was done.
Alley Electric is a local business with good service at a reasonable price. I would hire them again.
I didn't even receive services from them yet, but I had to compliment the customer service. I was asking for a quote for mobile homes, which they don't do. But Alina provided me with extensive knowledge that helped ease my fears about aluminum wiring, and know with more clarity how to move forward realistically to keep my home electricity situation safe and efficient.
Did you get that? I didn't even get the service from them, but they were kind enough to talk to me for 30 minutes to educate me.
That's true humanitarian service.

I got 4 recess light installed for my living room. Great crew. They asked all the details before doing the work. Price is reasonable. Very trustworthy and accommodating
Please call few weeks in advance as they do get booked pretty fast
Another job well done by Alley Electric! This time, I asked Wes and his team to replace some outdoor light fixtures, add a couple of new indoor light fixtures, and add a few switches and outlets. Everything turned out perfect!
Thanks, Alley Electric!
Wesley is everything you would hope to find in an electrician. He's responsive, prompt, attentive and very capable.
When we realized that a light fixture replacement was going to be a bit more intensive and require cutting into the ceiling, repatching and repainting, he suggested an alternative route that was faster and far less expensive.
His rates are reasonable and he's the kind of guy that you don't mind if he spends a bit of extra time, because he's so nice.
Highly recommended.

I hired Alley Electric for 3 projects: Intall 3 outlets in my garage, install under cabinet lighting , and replace my electrical circuit breaker panel. I was very pleased with Alley Electric. Getting an estimate on the work was easy and quick. The crew was very professional, arrived to do the work on time, did a great job, and cleaned up the areas where they worked. Will definitely use Alley Electric again.

After consulting and getting quotes from a few electrical companies we hired Alley Electric to rewire and upgrade the entire electrical of our home. The owner of the company, Wesley, was very patient and answered all of our questions regarding the project. This was a large job that took two weeks to complete. It is important to note that the company workers followed strict PPE protocols while in our home. This was very much appreciated as we had children in home while they were working. Chris was our main contact on the project He was very professional and took the time to explain exactly what was planned day after day. He gave us constant updates on the status of the project. We really appreciated his strong work ethic and the pride that he took in his work. We were very happy with the final result. It's amazing how new outlets, light switches, ceiling lights and recessed lighting really improve the feel and look of a room. We would highly recommend Alley Electric's services to our friends and family.

Mother in law had very good experience with Alley. Based on this we contacted them for an estimate. Very thorough and responsive.
Reached out to a few places to get 2 ceiling fans installed in Oakland. Wesley came by to take a look and provided a quote the next day. I called and scheduled and they came on time and finished in a timely manner. 1 ceiling fan with a preexisting light fixture and another without. They did have a recommendation for the patch repair in the walls / ceilings however I ended up choosing another company. Overall would highly recommend and would come back if I needed to get any other light fixtures installed.
I got nearly an immediate response to my message and they were able to fit my job in within hours of my call. The visit was made very efficient since they asked for photos of my burnt plug and socket issue that cause my dryer to fail. They picked up the right parts on the way to my house. All done at a reasonable price.
Update: We had another fan installed today by Chris. You will not find a more personable and professional young man than him. We love how easy going he is, and the great job he does. He makes sure to leave the area clean which is a bonus for neat freaks like me. We will definitely hire Chris/Alley Electric for more projects!
Pretty black and white on the shoes in the house, either it happened or it didn't and you were in such a rush to use the bathroom (again, because you were almost half an hour LATE) that you just walked right in like it's your own house. I managed a 22-unit apartment building for 3 years in Los Angeles and not one service call ever required me to tell the technician to take off their shoes in my tenant's units. I'd almost assume it's even standard customer service if the Comcast guys even do it.
Now let's Fast Forward into your excuses...
I didn't think this was possible, but agreed to come out to take a look - because YOU dont do the work, you sent a pair of beginners who couldn't even put a light switch back in correctly. I think that's fair for the public to know, you seem to play yourself up as this expert but when push comes to shove who is actually doing the work? If something was to go wrong, it is at the liability of your customers for you to actually make a service call?
While we did accidentally install a switch upside down - Was this not something that was at the fault of your employees? Shouldn't have happened to begin with. The work was done incorrectly, regardless of whether it was dropping a new wire or if it was something as simple as putting back a light switch.
I called prior to my arrival and left a voicemail with my eta. When I arrived, I found nobody to be home. I called again and left a message - Wife checked her voicemail, nothing.
I arrived at 7:40 (10 minutes after our appointment window) - how about you try another 10 minutes after that? Or if you want to get specific, how about specifically 22 minutes after our window at 7:52? Want the screenshot from my phone call history? Is that closer to 7:30 or 8?
I came out of the bathroom and removed my shoes - What happened to removing your shoes UPON ENTRY? Did you even think to ask once? Instead you stood around after you came out and I had to say something?
For a job that cost as much as ours did, some customer sensitivity training probably would have been nice when this entire situation could have been avoided if you knew what work as actually done, or even simply came to check on the job when your junior guys finished the work. If a light switch is put back upside down, then that was put back incorrectly.
I was worried that the junction box installation was too small of a job for most electricians to take seriously or really care about. To my surprise, Wesley responded to my quote request promptly, was able to provide an estimate with only a few photos of the job area from my cell phone and started the work in less than 48hrs after initial contact.
All communication with Wesley was prompt and courteous. He really couldn't have been nicer about completing this work.
I will definitely look to Alley Electric for any future electrical needs (large or small) for my home

Top notch. Wesley and Alina were friendly, professional, adaptable, and knew their business.
They replaced my sub-panel and then later upgraded my recessed lighting.
Of the electricians I got quotes from, these guys were the most professional and also had the most reasonable quote. Wesley took care of the permit with the City, and final total was exactly as expected; no surprises. Quality work was completed quickly.
The next time I need electrical work done, I am definitely sticking with Alley Electric. Highly recommend their services.

I contacted Wesley through Yelp for a quote. He responded within 10 minutes and was also priced reasonably. They were able to fit me in within the next couple days to replace my bath fan.
Chris came out and was very professional. He replaced my fan and cleaned up after he was done. I will go with Alley again for other electrical needs.
Thanks!

I called Alley Electric for installation of a 40 amp electric car level 2 charger. Chris and Francisco did a excellent, professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable job executing an very reasonably priced bid from Wesley, the owner. Chris and Francisco have a call ahead when arriving as requested, and arrived on time. Next best bid I received from another vendor was a few hundred dollars more than Alley Electric, for overselling what was a 15-20 minute rearranging of breakers.
I will definelty continue to request bids from Alley Electric. Assuming they continue this level of customer service and reasonable pricing, I will be requesting bids from them in future, both for small jobs and large. For example I have already asked Wes for a bid on a gfi outlet outside my house, and if that works out, will contact him whenever I get around to upgrading my electrical panel to 200 amp if I ever build an in law unit, city of Oakland building department permitting.
Thank you Wes, Chris, and Francisco!

Still very happy with Wesley and Alley Electric and have used him continuously for the last 10 years. He recently rewired two baths in a rental property I was gutting and updating and also made sure the knob and tube wiring in the rest of the house was safe. Another electrical contractor recommended by the general contractor on this house gave me an extremely high bid. I called Wesley and he gave me a much better estimate, started work earlier than promised due to a cancellation and all is well. Whenever I find a minor issue with the work all it takes is one call or text and Wesley has someone out to correct. Fair, honest, quality work.

My fiancé and I couldn't be more happy with the work we had done by Alley Electric. From the initial contact over email, to the end of the job, it was an absolutely awesome experience all the way through.
Wesley and his wife worked on the job here in San Jose on a Saturday morning, and got everything done before the afternoon. They were very professional, punctual for both the quote and the job itself, they helped to answer some additional questions I had, and also gave me some info about some future work we wanted to get done this year. From initial contact to the completion of the job was less than a week.
For this job, I had a bunch of work done in my garage ( new light fixture, new dedicated circuit for tools, and a line and plug for our new dryer ) and had an outlet replaced in the master bedroom and it was all done very professionally and looked fantastic in the end. They managed to leave the garage and all areas they worked looking very clean, even on a terribly rainy day.
I highly recommend Alley Electric for any electric work you want to get done. Just a great experience all around. We will definitely be hiring Wesley and team again in the future.
Wesley and his wife are prompt, experienced, fairly priced, and have great customer service. Highly recommend them.
I choose Alley Electric to upgrade my electric panel. They were professional and the job was done as expected.
Definitely I recommend them, and will hire them again if needed.
Their price was very competitive compared to two other bids.
Hi, I used Alley Electric for electric outlet problems. Their technician name Wesley showed up on time and got right to the issue. He was very knoweledgeable and professional throughout.
I was there with him and he even informed me what the root cause is. Their cost is very reasonable and I'd contact Alley Electric again anytime I meet any electrical issue moving forward.
They are our go to electricians. Just have a second job done by them: installing a power outlet for my car charger. Reasonable quote, came on time, get the job done and cleaned up well

A++ work! Wesley, Michael, and Chris have done excellent work at my home over the years. (This review is way overdue.) Alina is also very efficient in the office. They have a great team and its obvious they all take pride in their work. They have installed ceiling fans including rewired up to code, updated my electrical box, installed recessed lights, and changed my electrical outlets. Most recently Chris just replaced my bathroom fan and added ground wiring to an outlet. Michael updated an outlet for my electrical stove last year and I liked how clean and detailed he worked. I would recommend Alley Electric to anyone who is looking for excellent service. S. PENA
4.5 stars. Reasonably priced and professional. The work met our expectations. I will be contacting Alley for any future electrical work. (This review may be short and generic, but it's legitimate. I just don't feel like writing a memoir.)
Alley Electric (Wes and team) did a wonderful job to install LED lights for our Garage dance studio.
I wouldn't lie, I was a bit nervous about the whole project since it's a narrow Garage and Living room is just above our garage. Wes made sure that he came in and explained about the project plan and about general details (time taken to work on the project, Hardware models - LED lights...etc).
Wes was able to understand what I had in my mind for this project and was able to sincerely recommend his thoughts.
Wes is very responsive on his emails and took time to explain what type of lights are available and what he recommends.
He and his team came in on the day of installation and took care of the entire project including any nitty gritty details (eg: cleanup after installation...etc). I like the following qualities from Wes and his team
Punctual
Great work - took care to make minimum # of drills on the ceiling and not making a mess.
After work - cleanup dust and other items after installation
My wife is so happy about this great dance studio and all thanks goes to Wes and his team. Great job Alley Electric!
Ever try and reach these folks for a small job for a couple $100 worth they are not interested. I can see why but then again that's just bad business. Wonder if there are good folks that are certified.
I initially hired a different electrical company to do the work needed. I had two overhead light switches that weren't working and three outlets in the same area of my home that also weren't working. I paid him a consultant fee and was quoted a price for the job but became concerned when the electrician said nothing was wrong with one of the outlets even thou it couldn't draw enough power to turn on a small lamp. I decided I better call in someone else to complete the job. Glad I did! This first electricians assessment of what needed to do done was completely wrong!
I then called Alley Electric and Wesley the owner came out. He was professional, efficient, courteous, timely and completed the entire job quickly. Including the outlet that the first electrician was or couldn't fix.
I highly recommend Alley Electric, and Wesley especially to anyone that needs to have electrical work done. Wesley you did a great job! Also the price of the job became in lower and the first companies price.

We have used Alley Electric for 3 separate jobs and have been very impressed each time. Wesley and his team are professional, very skilled and so knowledgeable. Would recommend without hesitation!
We have used Alley Electric three times since purchasing our home in 2017. What I really appreciate about Wesley and his team is that they are responsive and fast. Contact them, they come out ASAP to do a free quote, and then can have you scheduled very soon. Their work is professional, clean and mess free. Excellent job! They are based in Fremont but we live in SJ and they do service our area.

I have gone through several electricians. I needed upgrading. These guys are the real deal. Good pricing, dead on with quote and end cost, professional, nice people, pleasant, and very knowledgeable and worked well with PGE. They get the job done and done right. Efficient and quick. Can't say enough. 10 stars!

Quick and easy Tesla charger install, thanks Alley Electric! Great service, great price.
Everybody I interacted with at Alley Electric was fantastic. After putting out a last-minute request for a wall outlet installation to nearly a dozen different electricians, Wesley at Alley was the first to respond and provide a reasonable and fair quote for service. He was prompt in communication, and even worked with me on scheduling when I had to delay the install by an hour.
Chris, who performed the work, was a rockstar. He was a consummate professional -- he knew what he was doing, was in and out in under an hour (!), and based on his skill, left the walls exactly as he found them -- with the addition of the new outlet and wall jack, of course. I couldn't be happier. And to boot, the price was very, very reasonable. I will absolutely use Alley in the future.
Wesley came to quote (was a little late to the appointment, but called at least). He was super polite and clear with advice and expectations. And was really responsive over email, which is my preferred way of communicating.
Chris and Francisco were right on time for day-of and did a pretty fantastic job installing recessed lights, running a new circuit, installing a level 2 car charger and fixing some recessed lights installed by a previous electrician.
My only complaint would be that there some was drywall dust on the floor after the job (bit hard to see because of our awful vinyl tiles) and the boxes for the charger were just left lying around, but otherwise I was super happy. We've been looking for a new electrician and we'll definitely hire Alley Electric again.
Emailed Alley Electric and spoke to Wesley. We made an appointment for him to come out and repair a broken light switch.
Arrived on time and was very professional. He found the problem right away and in about less than 20 minutes was done.
I also asked him if he could provide a estimate for additional electrical work in our home and he quickly wrote down all of the items and said he would provide a work proposal of cost within the next day.
We got the proposal in the time quoted and it was very competitive with other proposals we had. We are seriously considering moving forward with Ally Electric just from the first impressions and the fact they were on time for both the work done and the price proposal.
My Mom's house was built in 1962 and still had the type of fuses you need to screw in, so I wanted the whole house upgraded to current standard and codes. I contacted Wesley and he came out to give us a quote. Wesley wasn't the lowest bid, but I had a good feeling about him and thought we'd work well together. Everything I wanted done he was able to do! Wesley, his wife Alina and his crew upgraded the main panel to the house from 100 amp to 200 amp; removed and rewired faulty and highly dangerous Federal Pacific Breakers and changed it into a junction box; removed and rewired the fuses and changed it into a junction box; cleaned up the wiring and changed out every single outlet and light switch in and outside the house; upgraded the dryer outlet and installed an outlet behind the freezer in the garage.
Wesley, Alina, Chris and the other electrician (I can't remember his name) were all professional, courteous, helpful, friendly and definitely knew what they were doing! Best of all they started work shortly after I hired them...no long wait time and they showed up exactly at the time they said they would.
When I need an electrician either for my Mom in Dublin or for myself in Hayward, I will be contacting Alley Electric! I HIGHLY recommend them! And Wesley thank you for taking such good care of my Mom!
Wesley fixed my outdoor outlets right before I had to use my smoker for my family gathering. He was professional and provided clear details on what to expect every step of the way. Will definitely keep him in mind for all our electrical needs!

I sent out a quote request to multiple contractors and electricians.
This guy showed up at my door without an appointment. After confirming that he did not have an appointment, I said I'll show you what we need but this is not the way to do business. He said fine, asked for his business card back (which he gave me when I opened the door) and left.
What an ass!
Tesla Wall Charger installed in under 2hrs. Wesley's two man crew arrived a couple hours after the scheduled time, but they did a good clean job. Would happily hire Alley Electric again.

Wesley and the crew are good. Highly recommended.
the original request is to upgrade a 220V 20Amp to a proper 220V 50Amp circuit and breaker. The crew managed to get it done in the crowded switch box. After the 220V circuit upgrade, a breaker in the bathroom keeps tripping randomly. Called Wesley and he came over and replace with a new breaker and everything works for a couple of days.
Unfortunately, the GFCI circuit started tripping right away when the seat warmer plugs it in. Wesley came in the weekend to help identify the issue not on the circuit, the breaker or the GFCI outlet but the seat warmer itself not grounding properly.
After the root cause is identified, I was able to fix it right away. Wife is happy. Life is good now.

I don't write reviews very often but Alley Electric has been such a big help to me over the years (and did so again today) so I felt I should let others know. Whether it's a big job or small they are always knowledgeable, prompt, courteous and professional. Even during these stressful times, Alina and Wesley found a way to squeeze in a quick repair for me today on very short notice. Highly recommended!

I requested a quote on Yelp to get several electric issues in my house fixed and Wesley (owner) responded very fast to schedule the appointment. On the day of the appointment, he showed up on time, took a quick look and fixed all our issues in less than 30 mins. Overall, I am extremely satisfied and received excellent service at a reasonable price. Wesley is extremely professional and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend them.
Super friendly, professional and easy to talk to. I told them what I wanted and they recommended something even better without change in the estimate which was very affordable. Glad I picked Alley Electric from my many estimates. I will be using them again in the future.

Great electric company to work with. We were having some breaker issues and needed to fix the issue ASAP. Used Yelp message to ask for quote, and the owner, Wesley, replied and helped us make the appointment right away. The technician came the next day and quickly identified and fixed the issue. We felt lucky to have Alley Electric to fix the issue for us so efficient with reasonable price. We will definitely call Alley Electric again if we have any further electrical related needs. Thanks.

This review is a few months late but better late than never. My family had just moved into Union City a few months ago when we were experiencing a case of flickering lights. When PG&E came out, they found many loose connections which they tightened and also a more serious panel problem where a part was broken. Needless to say, we needed to get it fixed asap since PG&E told us that it could start a fire(in days or weeks). We called Alley electric the very next day, spoke to Alina and explained the problem. A few hours later Wesley called back and offered to drop in the very same day to check and give a free estimate(which he did ). He explained that the part had to be special ordered ...but somehow they were able to get the replacement part the very next day and had it installed by the evening!
We haven't had any more issues since the repair and was very happy with the service itself! Thanks again for the great work (and excellent communication)!
Great service! They responded immediately to my call. We had last minute fixes to close the sale on our home and Wesley and crew completed all inspection items. Great job!

In preparation for an upcoming kitchen remodel, I needed to upgrade the main and sub panels to my home. I called multiple electricians and had varying responses. Wesley came out, took a look at the scope of work, told me what to expect, and provided a quote a couple days later. When my work schedule prevented me from meeting up with him in person to sign the contract, Wesley suggested alternatives and held the work dates for me. The work was completed in two days, and when he saw a problem with an outlet that was outside the scope of work for this project, he fixed it free of charge.
The customer service was there throughout. Wesley and his workers were kind and respectful throughout. Work was completed according to the timeline. I'd definitely recommend Alley Electric for any residential electric needs.

Alley Electric does GREAT work at a reasonable price. They are very responsive, prompt, very knowledgeable and informative and willing to work with their customers to make sure the project outcomes are the best possible option. Highly recommend!
I contacted them because I needed an electric line run for a new bathroom fan. With their expertise and great customer service, they were able to explain that I actually needed a main service panel upgrade and walk me through all the steps and costs associated with the project. While a bummer to have to spend more than I originally hoped, Alley Electric made it easy and painless and helped me identify that the upgrade would also be an important safety update for my home as my old panel was a real fire risk. For context, I had 4 other contractors look at the bathroom fan project and give me unhelpful answers, super high quotes, and never once did I get a clear itemized quote and step-by-step project guidance. Alley Electric provided all that and more in a timely manner and with reasonable prices. In fact, because of the immediate trust they inspired, I also decided to add a few drop lights and a new outlet while they were out.
Wesley and his team spent two days at my house completing all the work and did a great job. They were efficient and nice, and were even good with my very over-excited dog. Following the project, Wesley diligently got both me and PG&E through the permit inspection process which, due to delays with the utility, was no small feat. I can't recommend them more highly - do yourself a favor and work with Alley Electric for your electrical project needs. They are experts with great customer service and, somehow, competitive to low prices for the industry.
One note of caution: they DO NOT do cosmetic clean up and don't necessarily think about aesthetics first. They are specialized electricians not general handy-men. I had to repair cracks in the very old dry-wall from where the new light switches were installed and also ended up with a slightly weird bend in my gutter down spout due to the conduit coming out of the new service panel. While the gutter bend is not beautiful, it is fully functional and they were happy to discuss with me as they worked on how to make it as aesthetically pleasing as possible, although I had to lead that conversation. Be prepared for that with any electrician so you can have your expectations correctly set.
When we contacted Alley Electric about the power outage in one area of our house, Wesley was very responsive from the get-go, and was able to accommodate us very quickly. He arrived on time, wore a mask while he worked, and was very respectful. We are relieved to have the issue resolved, and would absolutely hire Alley Electric again.
Reliable, honest and affordable. We were very happy with Wesley and the team at Alley Electric. Wesley even came back for a free follow-up visit to address a quirk caused by an appliance that we plugged into an outlet his team had worked on.
We had outdoor outlets that failed. I called Alley and within three hours Wes was at my door. He diagnosed and fixed a failing GFCI in about 30 minutes and taught me how to replace it so I could do it in the future. He even did some extra sealant to prevent future problems, something our contractor had missed. And he advised me on some other future projects. Very responsive, very friendly and professional.
I got a new fancy ceiling fan (LED dimming, remote) after the old one broke its pull chain. Since I bought it from Amazon, I originally chose amazon home services to install it. However, Amazon scheduled a provider which had bad reviews and was unlicensed to install it. Not wanting to take the risk I cancelled it and went looking for someone local to install it, hoping that it could be installed by christmas (which was only 3 days a way). Alley Electric responded promptly to my yelp estimate request, and had it installed the next day, at a price that was actually lower than amazon home services. Service was professional, quick, and thorough. Will use again for my electrical needs.
I'm very pleased with Alley Electric. Westly and his partner were very professional, kind, and were able to complete the work requested in one day. They installed conduit for a new chandelier on a vaulted ceiling with minimal crawl space, and were able to do it without the electrical box looking tacky and obtrusive, Westley also attached the chandelier to the ceiling. In addition, they also repaired six fluorescent light fixtures that stopped working in our garage with new balasts, replaced an electrical outlet for a new stove, and installed some recessed lighting in our dining area. I would without hesitation hire Alley Electric for any electrical needs because they seemed very trustworthy, respectful of our home, and completed everything in a timely manner. Thanks for everything Alley Electric!
Alley Electric continues to impress us. They have completed many, many electrical jobs for us, and they continue to do a great job, every time. They are SO good, that I've stopped getting estimates from other companies for electrical work! I trust their work. And, I trust they're not going to scalp me on price.
- They always put tarps on the floor and cover furniture with plastic, where necessary.
- They always do professional, to-code work.
- They charge a reasonable fee for doing so.
- They clean up when they're done!
- If there are any problems, they address them promptly.
Look no further! Alley Electric is the best!

I had to update my sub-panel in my garage because the panel I had was super old and was a fire hazard. Wesley was quick in responding to my questions and did a fantastic job installing and retrieving the permit for me. He was very accommodating and was extremely knowledgeable about what I needed and did not need. I will definitely contact him if I need anymore electrical work done on my house.
Alley Electric is one of the best experiences I had when I chose them to install recessed lighting at my Home.Alina gave me quote over the phone, guided be for the best results within budget and they finished the job next day. Wesley was a thorough professional and extremely efficient. I needed more dimmer after installation was done and they came over again (On Saturday) and fixed this for me.
There is a reason why everyone has glowing reviews for them. I would hire them for any Electric work in the future.
Thank you Alina and Wesley..!!
Wes, Alina and his guys took care of a wiring job incorrectly done years ago when we remodeled our bathroom. They did a professional job, quickly, in extremely tight quarters and cleaned up everything after they were done.
Wes also quickly responded before this job to an emergency request to fix a faulty range connection in the kitchen and got us back up and running again within an hour.
They are my go-to electrical service from now on. Wes knows his stuff and communicates clearly and professionally what needs to be done and how. Exceeded expectations both times. Thanks

After my experience dealing with Wesley and his team, I will never go to anyone else. They were on time , reasonably priced, and went above and beyond to ensure a perfect job was done. I am very satisfied with the work Chris and Fransisco who did the on-site work. They were very friendly and professional. I will recommend Alley Electric to all my friends and family . Thank you for the awesome job today!
Best

I was hoping they would be my new go-to since my electrician retired. But sometimes things just go wrong. I had a great quote meeting with Wesley and took his first available appointment two weeks out to do an outlet installation in the garage, a light installation in a closet, two hanging light installations, and to troubleshoot the problem with the wires from the furnace to the thermostat.
His people claimed there was nothing wrong with the wiring and reconnected the thermostat (incorrectly - two wires were wrong and the way they installed the thermostat meant my furnace wasn't running as a two-stage as designed). I had a second team from the HVAC company come and reconfirm it was working...it wasn't, the two wires really were dead so they put a more expensive workaround in place at their cost.
The outlet in the garage was just bizarre. Instead of punching a whole and running the wire from the electrical box, they took the light switch out of the wall, ran the electrical outside, and put the lightswitch and outlet on the outside of the wall. Crooked. And not sealed all the way around. When I asked the owner, he just said that was how they do it since they don't do patch work. It really looks like one of my DIY jobs.
One guy complained when they saw the height of one of the lights to hang (it shouldn't have been a surprise as Wesley saw it himself), rolled his eyes when I asked to have things moved one way or another, and just helped himself to the restroom without asking - my gosh you even ask or notify if you're visiting a friend's house! When I asked Wesley about his employee, he stated he was a great team member. And maybe he is. Maybe they're great, but the day before they shut down for two weeks is likely not their best example of that. I wish I had known I was the second-to-last appointment before the shut down, too.
I ordered the light Wesley recommended from Home Depot for the closet but it didn't come in time as I gave it less than two weeks which is totally on me - so I will eat that cost because I just really don't want them back in the house. It was largely a waste of money given that a couple of things redone. Boo hiss!
I wouldn't recommend them. Two stars because Wesley initially seemed like a good owner and two of the lights were installed well.
*** As to the owner's response:
I already had a Nest installed and it looked like it was OK from the Nest side, too. That wasn't the job, nor did they diagnose or solve the problem. The job was to diagnose why the wires were dead which meant the thermostat wasn't hooking up to the furnace side because it's a two stage. The job wasn't to install a thermometer since i can do that myself and there was already one in there. The job was to diagnose why 2/7 wires weren't working and rewire them, if possible, THEN reinstall the Nest. However, the HVAC team (AIS) came back and installed a wireless which is working fine. More money wasted with Alley.
I had a patch and paint person lined up to fill the wall holes since i specifically asked to punch the holes in the wall and run the wires up and over the door. That was the job, not sticking some jerry-rigged nonsense on the outside of the wall. The next electrician I hired fixed that, too.
OK, so the job is well done, for sure. Also, was done FAST and under the estimate. All great here. But you know why we think they are AWESOME and not just great? Because they actually communicate! We had major problems with all sorts of contractors who don't pick up the phone, don't do email and respond to messages a week later. These guys are instant! This is super-helpful and makes us trust them more. We WILL be using them again.
This was a great experience. They installed a fan in record time. Very clean, courteous and professional. Highly recommended.
Wesley and team helped us install an electric fireplace insert. They came on time, were very efficient, flexible to our suggestions and completed the job quickly. We are very happy with the outcome and will hire him again for other electrical needs.
Wesley and his guys did a great job at our house. This review is long overdue. Wesley and his team installed lights under our kitchen cabinets, and we couldn't be happier with the results. They have since come back for other small jobs (changing an outlet in our garage to be on its own dedicated breaker for our plug-in car, as well as other outlets we discovered weren't working).
He is definitely our go-to electrician!

I was having difficulty trying to install a light fixture myself. After business hours I called Alley Electric and left a message for service. Wesley came out the next day and within minutes got it installed. Well...I was not surprised. Alley Electric has repaired light switches and installed recessed lights for me before. They have always been on time and efficient. They are highly recommended.

Resubmitting my original review.
The job took Alley Electric 8 days to complete. The workers were here on time everyday. The owner, Wesley, showed up everyday to review what was happening and what was going to happen the next day. There were some additions and deletion to the plan as we went, and Wesley and the crew were very accommodating . They did a good job of not making to many holes in the walls. There were a couple of minor issues when the job was done, and Wesley was very prompt at coming to the house and fixing them.
Major issues getting my jacuzzi to turn back on after cleaning it out: Alley was out to look at it AND FIXED IT that same afternoon! Such great service, really great customer support, professional attitude, and reasonable price. Thanks!
The outlets in our kitchen have weird issues that I have no clue about (I have a electrical engineering degree from 20 years ago). Wesley found out it was a failing breaker within 5 minutes. Another quick 5 minutes and my kitchen is back online! The cost is on the higher side but definitely worth it!

Very responsive electrician. When I called in they were able to schedule for the next day and the electrician confirmed the appointment and arrived when they said they would. I've had other electricians/contractors do various work over the years and they have been unreliable & usually getting someone to show up is like pulling teeth - Not the case with Alley Electric. Great company with excellent service and reasonable rates. Highly recommended.

I got an estimate for the installation of fan boxes for ceiling fans as well as some electrical upgrades which I'm having done in phases. Alley was very responsive and flexible with scheduling around my work schedule- very impressed with their level of communication. Phase 1 is done- the crew arrived on time and completed the work in a few hours. Phase 2 is scheduled and I'm looking forward to continuing work with them.

I had Wes install 7 new dedicated circuits to rewire kitchen (for range/ stove, refrigerator, microwave, garbage disposal, kitchen a, kitchen b, under cabinet lights, hood vent stub out), add a GFCI bathroom plug, add two outlets in attic for future (attic solar fans) and one additional circuit for future use.
After careful research, looking at a number of bids (Hewlett electric, Anchor Electric, AAA Electric), asking installer questions, looking at code requirements, I selected Wes. He is easy to talk to, can answer all questions and is attentive to your questions or concerns.
Wes and his team (Joe, Manny, Tim) were all professional, knowledgeable, licensed and punctual. They had the 7 circuits and wiring installed in two days as agreed. The wiring was run in a two story house, and they did not damage any ceiling sheetrock. They also put down some tarp to cover stairs, floors and swept up each day. I still had power to refrigerator circuit for nearly the whole time, so food did not go bad.
Manny was kind enough to put on a bracket for a bathroom fan that had come loose. Joe later came back to put on some covers on some cancelled circuits, label the electrical panel and wire a 220V 4 prong outlet which they normally do at finish not a raw.
I will have Wes or Joe come back to finish the under cabinet lights the last week of June once the countertops and glass tile mosiac is done.
Of all the contractors I hired via Yelp, Wes was one of the friendliest to deal with along with his wife Alina. I highly recommend Wes for your electrical rewire or adding circuits. Wes gets it right first time, is licensed and his pricing is very competitive. Five stars all round for Alley Electric. Highly recommended.
We had Alley Electric give us a quote for replacing our kitchen ceiling fixtures with LED lights. They gave a great price, did it the next day and we love their work. I couldn't ask for more.

Chris and Michael did a terrific job on a series of electrical projects including: (i) installing outdoor nest cameras, (ii) replacing and installing wireless sprinkler controller, (iii) replacing and installing under cabinet lighting and (iv) installing a series of outdoor plugs. They worked hard all day, took the time and did an excellent job.
I have always wanted to replace my existing halogen lights with the energy saving lights in my sun room. Since I had hired Wesley to do some electrical work few years ago and was very satisfied with his work (worth 5 stars)so I've decided to hire him again this time.
I called the company, his wife Alina answered the phone. She asked me to email them the pictures of my existing lights and the ones I want to replace with so they can give me a quote. Everything went well.
The day of the appointment, when Alina called to tell me the technicians were going to be a little late, I was surprised to learn that Wesley was not the person who will actually do the work for me. However, Alina assured me that if I have any concerns for the job the technicians perform, I can call them and they will be at my house right away.
When the door bell rang, I was even more surprised to see 2 very young men standing at the door:-). To be very honest, my confidence level dropped:-).
Due to the nature of my sun room roof, and maybe lack of the experience, it took the technicians awhile to figure out what type of screws to use on my sun room ceiling to mount the new lights. Again, due to lack of confidence, I called Alina. She and Wesley arrived quickly as promised. At that time, my new lights were also up as well. Alina instructed one of the technicians (later on learned that was their son who was also an apprentice:-) how to properly dispose the box for the new lights and to clean up the area.
I would probably still hire Alley Electrical to do my electrical work in the future. However, I'd be more confident to either have Wesley to do the work or at lease have him around to supervise.

Let me start this review by giving a little background. I have been a homeowner for over 30 years and have employed many a contractor. That being said, in my experience, a high percentage of them have not been dependable or honored their commitment to my time. This was not the case with Alley electric.
I needed an electrical upgrade in order to install a new air conditioning unit. I called 6 electrical contractors. Each one got back to me and 4 made an appointment to come to my house. Alley Electric was the only one that showed up on time. Additionally, Alley was the least expensive.
We hired Alley and throughout the whole process their commitment to us was exemplary. No problem whatsoever. Thanks Wesley and crew for your quality work and for cleaning your work area without a trace.
Good services, reasonable price, and quick response.
Some of my room lighting was on and off for some time.
I contacted someone and when he came the light is on. So no way to find out why.
One day the lights is off and I called Alley electric and Wesley came. But the light is on again. Wesley did some check and left. I know it is hard to find out the issue when it works.
Friday afternoon the light is out again. I sent Wesley a message and 10 minutes later he is in my house. He checked everything and finally located the issue. Everything is back to business. I am very happy since I had been already in the dark for a few weeks.
They were very good with our recessed lighting and chandeliers installation work and recommend them.

Chris and Azu arrived promptly within the specified window. They promptly diagnosed the problem and completed the necessary repair within an hour. They each took the time to communicate with me. I would have no difficulty recommending them to anyone who needs electrical work. Their company maintains an impeccable work ethic and provides extraordinary service.
Honest business. Wesley came to give us an estimation within 24 hours. And I had a very good feeling on the way they communicate so I didn't bother getting any more bids. The price is very fair.
They were able to perform the job one week after, they are puncture and professional. They also helped me hook up the electronics free of charge, they are heavy.
Would do business with them again if there were chances, and would recommend them to anyone.

I hired Alley Electric to install 3 ceiling fans in my home. Ultimately I am happy with the result and would hire them again. The cost was not the lowest, but was reasonable and lower than some other bigger guys.
-I was given an simple estimate through over email.
-I found it was easy to reach the company via phone/email.
-Wesley and 2 other workers arrived at the arranged appointment and were on time.
-The crew did a great job protecting and masking all areas, especially in my child's room
-They were able to use most of the materials I had purchased, except for j-boxes, which weren't the right kind. Wesley traded me the correct kind at no additional cost!
-Some additional romex was required which slightly increased the cost above the estimate.
-The crew went above and beyond to completely assemble and test all 3 fans
-There was some chipping of the plaster around one of the fans, but I was able to get a medallion to cover it.
-The crew members were clean, did not smell like BO or smoke. They communicated each step and I felt comfortable with them working in my home and around my family.
Alley Electric gave us the most affordable quote for ceiling light installation for our living room and bedrooms whereas other companies gave us a much higher quote or told us that there was no way it could be properly done in a condo without an attic crawl space. Additionally, Wesley and Alina are very responsive to emails and questions. We love our new lights and dimmers and are very satisfied with the service from Alina, Wesley and their crew.
Love Y.

Very Nice Work,
worked with Wesley on all coordination and setup. His team was on time and accurate to figure out the work and deliver. I had lots of plugs changes to grounding as well as installing exhaust fans in the bathroom.I also had to rewire few circuits in my sub-panel.
All finished with no issues so far and I am happy with the prompt, clean services I got.
They are my go to guys for doing anything electrical from now on.
I searched Yelp and Angie's List for three highly rated electricians to install recessed lighting in our living room, and of the three, Alley Electric had the best price. They came on time, took great care to move furniture, lay dropcloths, and tape plastic sheets to the walls to keep the room clean, and did a wonderful job. They were professional and pleasant to work with. Now I'm kicking myself for not doing this sooner, and thinking about having them install more lighting in other rooms. I would certainly hire them again!
Alley Electric is our only choice for electrical work.
Wesley is fast and experienced, he has saved the day for us several times, the problems are fixed permanently and he explained why as well.
We will not go anywhere else!
What a fantastic experience with Wesley. I had power outage on my second floor as well as an outdoor outlet that was out. Wesley and his son came out at 7am before I went to work and took care of my outlets in no time. They also squeezed us in their schedule within 24 hours of my calling them for an appointment.
In a day when true craftsmanship seems to be lacking, this company is family run and trains the next generation (his son) in the trade. How awesome is that!
Very affordable and great customer service. Every time I called, someone answered and was both pleasant and helpful to speak with. Highly recommend these guys!
Very good service. Highly professional electricians, neat work. Gave good suggestions during recessed light installations. Also gave good tips to save money. Will always recommend them.
We contacted Alley Electric using the Request a Quote on Yelp. Wesley replied right away and we arranged for a service visit the same afternoon. His employee, Chris, is very professional and was great at explaining what happened and how he was going to fix the problem. He answered all my questions, including a few about other electrical work in the house. We look forward to doing business with Alley again.
I used Wesley and his crew to upgrade my residential electrical panel from 100 to 200 amps and from the start I was impressed with his upfront professional approach. He explained clearly the steps involved in my project along with accurate estimates on the costs involved. I was extremely satisfied with the results and would not hesitate to employ him again.
We ended up not needing any work done so this review is for the integrity shown. We called-in for an estimate to upgrade our panel per our HVAC technicians request, to make provision in the panel for a new AC to be installed. Wesley showed up not only pointed out that our current panel in-fact did already have the right stuff (by repurposing one of the unused 30A breakers), but patiently answered a bunch of questions even though he didn't expect any immediate business out of me. Next time for my electric needs they definitely are the first ones I'll think of.

Same day service on the installation of two ceiling fans, an outdoor light fixture and replacement of an outdoor outlet. They went beyond what I expected and what was needed, and cleaned up after themselves. Prices were reasonable and comparable to others, but response time and performance was superior. I highly recommend them.
Excellent service with Alley Electric. I emailed them pictures of my current lights and they gave me a reasonable quote online. They phoned to confirm the time earlier in the day and arrived early. Awesome customer service and speedy work. Would definitely use them again. They removed their shoes without asking and cleaned up after themselves.
Alley Electric is awesome!! Wesley was a pleasure to communicate with. He was very diligent about answering my questions via email, and I had a lot of questions. LoL!! Wesley always responded in a very timely manner, and was great about providing links to examples. In addition, Alina was great about picking up the phone when I initially called to schedule an estimate. She was at the DMV when I called, but still made sure to pick up my call. Talk about committed to the customer!
I was very impressed that for the amount of work done to my house, Wesley's guys completed the job in 1 day. They were really great to work with!! I had some very specific requests, and they were able to accommodate them. I had several recess lights installed, a few surface mounted lights, and an additional outlet for outside the house. They asked me each time to confirm where I wanted the lights before they actually cut into the ceiling. I was really disappointed that they had to cut some holes through the walls and ceiling in order to run wires to the switch, but that isn't their fault. In fact, when they told me about needing to cut the holes for the wires, they did the best they could to try to find other options to avoid cutting the holes, and even was able to hide a few of the holes inside a closet so that it wouldn't appear on the main wall. By the end of the day, our house looked amazing!! We finally had lights where there weren't. It's so much brighter now, and it makes us want to replace all the other existing lights in the house to match. I definitely recommend using Alley Electric for any lighting and electrical needs.
I had quite a bit of work done - all new outlets, installed overhead lights in all bedrooms, installed recessed lighting in the front room and installed an outdoor outlet. They responded immediately when I contacted them, came out for an estimate the next day, came in right at their price estimate, worked really quickly and left no mess! Chris and Michael did my work and they were great. I'm very happy with the work - will definitely hire them for all my electrical needs.
Wesley was great at diagnosising the problem of not getting power to an outlet which just went dead. He fixed the problem quickly and only charged the basic rate. I will use Wesley and alley again for any electrical need in the future.
3 of my outlets hadn't been working for about 6 months and the outside lighting did not work on one side either .I called this company and the 2 guys came 1st name was Michael and the other name was Chris they were terrific michael was very wonderful fixed everything and Chri too. so please use them to have any electrical problems I called 3 other companies and none of them could fix the outlets.the to go underneath our house. They repaired everything.HURRAY!!

First of all I would like to thank Wes and Alina from Alley Electric for their prompt, honest and efficient response to my Family's electrical needs. I called Alina on Monday afternoon and informed her on the various electrical issues I had around the house. She informed me not to worry and that they could be there the next day trying to diagnose and even fix the problem even though they were on a very tight schedule. The next day, Alina and Wes came by and went right to work by diagnosing the issue and repairing it at a very reasonable rate! Alina even honored a coupon that really meant a lot because it showed that they put their clients need first.
Even though Alley's Electric can have a very tight schedule, their superior and meticulous work goes above and beyond professionalism. They are very diligent and attentive with the work that is completed and they are quite organized, clean, prompt and most of all respectful. I am quite disappointed and shocked that past clients have written some horrible reviews in regards to Alley's Electric. However, with them having almost 90 reviews, and with the majority being positive, I would extremely recommend them to you, and even to all my family and friends... Now I can proudly say that I have a true friend in the Electrician Business. Thank you again Alina and Wes for your time, patience, and expertise and will be contacting you soon to put in new fixtures in the newer edition of my home!! Please don't forget about me!!
Respectfully,
Shaun P.

Excellent service from the phone call with Alina to the professional and expert service from Michael and Chris. I'll be keeping their number for all future service. Thanks again. Much appreciated! David
High quality work and best of all very responsive to emails, quotes, phone calls, and shows up on time. We had 26 recessed lights installed in our condo including dimmers and timers. Wes came out to check out the condo and what we wanted to do. He was able to email a detailed quote the following day and I have to say it was a very competitive offer. After getting a few more quotes from other electricians it was pretty obvious that we were going with Alley. The install was a 2 day process which in my case required some holes to be cut into the drywall to feed the wires through. This is something that they let you know in advance and that they could refer some dry wall guys to patch it up. Wes was there both days with a couple of his guys. His wife who is also the person that you will correspond with showed up the second day to help out and make sure all was good. They did their best to keep the dust from cutting into the dry wall down to a minimum by carefully covering the place. Overall I would recommend them and I would use them again.
We needed help figuring out a short in our countertop electric range. They called when they said they would, showed up on time, diagnosed the situation super fast and had everything fixed in minutes! Very friendly and professional, I highly recommend!
Wesley replaced the main panel for me a couple of months ago. I got many quotes from different electricians, and Alley Electric was the only one who explained the process in detail for me. Other electricians told me PG&E May blabla, city may blabla. But I want to make sure they could finish the job at the same day. I have younger kids. I need heating at night. So I want to find some one who knows exactly what PG&E and city require.
On the day of replacing the main panel, Wesley's crew came at 8am and finished everything at 3pm. After the city inspection, PG&E came back to install my meter at around 4pm. The whole process was so smooth.
They are very professional, and they reply to every email and voicemail. They are highly recommended.

When I needed a floodlight installed over my garage in Sunnyvale, I turned to Yelp's new ask for a quote feature and spammed out my quote to 10 or so electricians in the Bay Area. Wesley responded *incredibly* promptly to my quote with a reasonable price and scheduled an appointment to come to my house for the install within a week! His electrician showed up at the scheduled time after calling me about 20min before arriving to let me know he was on his way. The work was completed efficiently and professionally and couldn't have been easier for me overall. Would highly recommend working with Wesley and Alley Electric.
I have hired Alley Electric several times. They are always clear about the bid, show up on time, do what they say they are going to do, clean up after themselves and all of his employees are courteous and professional.
Wesley is timely, thorough, cleanup, and professional. I will use his expertise on future projects.

Alley continues to impress. They added can lights to two bedrooms. Job was done in 1/2 day, on time and on budget with minimal mess and no extra cuts in the wall.
They were clean, professional and even without Wesley himself coming out the job was done well.

Wesley and his crew did a good job installing ceiling lights and some other minor electric work. On time and efficient. His crew was patient enough to answer all my questions regarding the connections.
Not sure if he is the cheapest option out there, but his quote was definitely less than another 5 star yelp rated electrician.
I'll be going back to him for further electric work in my home.
Alley Electric did a good job with updating plugs, a fuse box and running electricity into our garage. With an older home, we knew there were updates that needed to happen we appreciate the open and honest work that was proved. They even corrected an issue that wasn't seen in the initial quote. Everyone was on time each day and very professional even when dealing with an over zealous dog in the home! We'd totally use them again and recommend them!
On a late Friday afternoon, I had problem with the power outlets at the backyard for my fishpond. Wesley answered my call. She said it is won't be any schedule available until Tuesday. But she was graciously and very professionally taking her time to guide me through and found out the source of the problem. I cannot thank you enough, Wesley, for all your help. I will certainly keep your company in mind should I have any electrical needs in the future.
I recently purchased a new house in Fremont and needed recessed lighting, speaker wiring and some electric cleanup done before I moved in. My original electrician told me two weeks before move in that he would not be able to make it and I frantically looked online for a highly rated electrician in Fremont. Alley Electric was one of the first that popped up in my search so I gave them a call.
Alina was very helpful and was able to schedule Wesley to come out to my place within a day. Wesley patiently listened to everything that needed to be done and provided me with a competitive estimate in a short time.
After asking another company for a quote, Alley Electric was my choice due to their responsiveness and professionalism. They were able to schedule the work within a week and completed it on time. The results are great! Everyone who has seen the house has commented on the quality of the work and are very impressed.
Chris and Wesley were great and worked well together to get the job done. They installed thirty recessed lights, speaker wiring in two rooms and cleaned up the electrical work in my garage in 2.5 days.
I would definitely go back to them for my electrical needs!
We had Wesley come out twice with some minor electrical issues and also had him put in recessed lighting in the kitchen. He was so knowledgeable, efficient, and reasonable. He completed all the issues like changing the light switches, fixed a breaker that kept tripping, fixed an outlet that never worked and put in 6 recessed cams matching the existing ones as well. And, everything was cleaned up nicely.
In addition, Wesley explained everything he was going to do. There were no surprises.
Cris come over my house at 7:30 am on a Friday morning. Way too early for me but he did his trouble shooting to figure out what the problem was. He solved the problem and away he went 1/2 hour later. Cris was great, will do business again with Alley Electric.
The 7:30 am app was the only thing they had open for the next 6 weeks, thats how good they are..
Very quick response. Very professional. We were in emergency mode and he could not help us but the communication was excellent. Thanks again!!
I hired Alley Electric to add an additional cable outlet in my home. Long story short, Wesley accidentally drilled through the wrong place and damaged my new hard wood floor. He fixed it with wood putty, upon my request. I got my cable outlet at the end, when he drilled through the correct location upon 2nd attempt. Alina and the crew did a pretty good job at cleaning up afterwards.
The problem I have is that Wesley himself never apologized personally. Alina did apologize upon hearing the damage. But I would expect Wesley who was responsible for the damage to at least apologize to me directly. I understand that he is an electrician and there're also risks involved in any type of house remodeling work. I also understand that it's a bit hard for my home because of its design. But I think a sincere apology is not too much to ask for.
We had Wesley in to replace outlets throughout a rental until in our duplex, we coordinated through our tenant, he showed up on time and was very professional. We would defintely use him again. He called a half hour before arrival which was helpful.

Very professional and arrived on time. Took time to figure out which of my outlets having issues. Workmanship is good and my materials were included in service charges. Would recommend to friends and families.
We had to have the electrical connections to our backyard waterfall re-done. They weren't completed properly to begin with. Wesley came out and gave us an estimate and a few weeks later completed the work. Our system now works and meets code.
They were great to work with and we highly recommend.

Awesome service! They did subpanel and main panel upgrade for us. No headaches. They got the job done as promised. Wesley is very friendly and professional. Will definitely use again.
Hired Alley Electric to install recessed lighting and ceiling fans in my home. Was happy with their work; most of it was done correctly on the first try and any remaining problems (wobbly fan due to screw not tightened, wall mounts that weren't flush, etc.) were fixed in follow-up visits.
Would hire them again and recommend them to anyone looking for and electrician.

Dealing with Alley Electric and Wesley Sedain was the single worst experience we have ever had with a contractor. Not only were they rude, inconsiderate, and slovenly in their work habits, but they destroyed beautiful woodwork from the original 1922 build of the house. And their destructive tendencies appear to have been deliberate. We have no idea why. We have never met nor worked with these people before. They have a superior rating on Angie's List and now we believe most of those reviews have been fabricated. What else could explain this complete disconnect?
Our expectations are that this job is not a gut job but a finesse job. Which is why we chose Alley Electric. Their quote was meticulous, and the reviews were stellar. They charge a lot more than most other electricians, but we figured that was a sign of competence. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. For example, other contractors' quotes, as much as $5,000 less than Alley, included all patch repairs and even generator loans to keep the house functional overnight. Alley wanted nothing to do with fixing their own holes/messes. Nor would they offer us a generator, even though we would basically have no electricity in the house for nearly two weeks by their own estimation. That is ridiculous. And really unfair to our needs. As I stated, this is not a gut job. The house already has furniture and other personal effects in it. It is all in transition.
To start, they didn't contact us the day before work began just to confirm time and project scope. I had to contact them. I couldn't even get a response on their arrival time (8 AM) until 5:30 AM the day they were to start.
I had to all but beg them to put something down on our newly refinished floors. They put down craft paper. Later they actually put down a couple of crappy drop cloths, but not before getting the newly refinished floors all stained with plaster dust.
They proceeded to break plaster in unnecessary amounts around a couple of outlets before even trying to simply unscrew the housing, remove it, and seeing whether or not they could access the wiring.
Next, they drilled and chopped into the beautifully stained baseboards in the living room and dining room without masking off anything, nor marking or scoring the cut shape. When they cut through, they tore jagged chunks and strips of wood and finish around the holes and cracked some of the lengths of baseboard. We are still getting quotes on the repair of this work. It's as if they had never had to make a clean cut in wood their entire lives. Please see our supplied photos for the type of damages. You'll be horrified.
To look at the woodwork now is heartbreaking. We just purchased this house and are in love with its style, look, and feel. And now, after trusting our home to these idiots, we are punished just for trying to bring it up to date with current electric codes.
The insults to injury were simply that Wesley Sedain (the owner) wouldn't even acknowledge the damage nor did he offer to take responsibility for his team's destruction of our property. On top of it, he actually asked me is it going to be like this the entire job? When I started pointing out the damage and lack of care taken. The second insult was how he asked for the second installment, including the permit fee of $600. Being a good person, I was holding back and wrote a check for over two thousand dollars. With the initial deposit of one thousand dollars, he took well over three thousand dollars from us, damaged our property, and managed to insult us on top of it.
We fired them the next day. They have since sent us the permit but not the $600 fee we paid for it, nor any money for damages incurred, let alone work not done. And work that has to be redone.
This is nothing short of criminal. I sincerely hope that everyone looking for electricians comes across this review and runs as far away from Alley Electric and Wesley Sedain as possible. These guys have no sense of craft. No actual belief that their work is an extension of themselves and represents how they are viewed by the rest of the world. No pride in the work they leave behind for so many to view. And then the arrogance to actually ask for a check at the end of the day. It's all about the money. Get the money first... Wow. Now I sincerely believe all the glowing reviews they get are by their friends. Or people are bullied into it. Intimidated.
I would sincerely stay away. No. Run away! There aren't enough derogatory words out there that I could use to describe Alley Electric or Wesley Sedain. DO NOT USE! They will ruin your home.
* This comment is in reference to Alley Electric's response(s) to our review:
The simple fact that these people try and deflect any wrongdoing should be proof enough to any potential clients that Alley Electric is not interested in owning up to their poor work nor are they offering any compensation. Simply trying to make us look evil for saying anything negative about them.
We needed two dining room lights replaced with new LED can lights and an additional can light and switch put in. They got the job done quick (about an hour? would've taken me at least a half day!), the price was reasonable, and it looks great! Definitely calling them again for any other work we need done. Thanks, Alley Electric!

I had an overloaded circuit that needed to be replaced as well as a new receptacle to be installed. A previous contractor came out to do a bid and indicated it was an impossible job. Wesley and crew managed to get me up and running in no time.
My outlets in my kitchen stopped working. Alley electric first tried to help me fix the problem over the phone. Once it was confirmed that my GFCI was probably the problem, the scheduler had Jordan at my house within about an hour. He was professional, quick and efficient. He even used a leveler to make sure the outlet went back on perfectly straight. Their pricing was upfront. We will call them for any future electrical need.

Really appreciate how Wesley operates. I needed to have a 240v outlet installed in my garage so I could charge my EV and Wesley scheduled it in as soon as my schedule allowed. The install was quick and easy. But things got a bit interesting from there. When I went to charge, something just didn't seem right. The breaker felt warmer than it should. In an abundance of caution, I contacted Wesley again the next day and he came within hours to take a look. What he suspected to be a loose wire turned out to be a slightly bigger problem with my panel - in all likelihood unrelated to the work previously done. Nonetheless, he addressed the issue and explained everything he was doing along the way, and took ownership of getting this right. His urgency to resolve this as well as his demeanor was really refreshing and I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to him again for future needs.
We have used Alley Electric several times and are very pleased with their services. Their pricing is reasonable, great customer service and their technicians are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We would not even consider any other company. Alley Electric is our number one! Thank you.
I appreciated there fast turn around time, I needed a designated outlet for my dishwasher Wesley came and evaluated the outlet and 15 min later Chris came and fixed the outlet in record time. Nice to know there is people who know about customer service.
Wesley Sedain of Alley Electric arrived as scheduled to my rental unit. Evidently my tenant had fixed the electrical issue that was causing the problem via reseting the circuit breaker. Wesley was nice enough to check everything over, send me an email to let me know everything was great. Then told me there was no charge for the visit. Thank You so much. I will use them again. Many other places would have charged regardless.

The process was smooth and painless from getting estimate to getting the job scheduled and completed. I was happy with the wiring job in garage to add a new GFCI and install an outside Nest cam. The full experience was pleasant with the only exception that I was not informed of a couple fallen bricks during the job which the team attempted to fix (though not securely, and hence fell again after they left, and that's how I found out). I contacted owner Wesley and he very quickly came out the next day to fix the problem for me (and did a great job on it). Things do happen, and I am very grateful of how Wesley owned and handled issues when they arise. I feel safe doing business with Alley Electric and Wesley had earned my trust and future business.
Wesley is very good in analysis the issue. The quote is coming in on time and the price is reasonable. I recommend the service and will continue to use it in the future.

Highly recommended! Wesley and team did new installations for two Ring floodlight cameras, a Ring doorbell and replaced an existing floodlight at my house. They were one of the few electricians who responded to my initial requests for quotes and Wesley came out for a free quote a day later when he was in the area. During install day, they did a great job, made sure to tidy up afterwards, and everything works like it should. They hung around while I set up the app and devices on my phone too. Great guys and great service.

Wesley is a no nonsense guy who knows his stuff and tells it like it is. I asked Alley to have an evaluation / assessment done for the home. He arrived on time - communicated well via email to confirm the appointment. He was a quite thorough and took his time throughout the entire house, garage, and outside the house as well - took a little over an hour to complete the evaluation. I also asked him questions when he was done which he was happy to answer. While I did do my homework before he came to ask him about various things - he also found items I would not even know to ask - that's what I need. Had the assessment done on a Wednesday - the quote was given the following Monday. While I have not had any work done by Alley Electric yet (the quote appears reasonable) and he is already booked out over a month. Looking forward to seeing the next part of the process.
I had an issue with the discovery of an incorrect outlet used by prior owner for the range stove. Wes came out on the very same day to inspect and determine solutions even though he had a full schedule. Alley Electric was very professional and prompt with taking the call and coming out. I will call them for additional needs no question. Highly recommend them.
I reccommend Alley Electric. We had some recessed lights installed in our kitchen and living room, bathroom vents installed, and a fan switched out in the living room. Overall they did a good job at a competative price. I only have a few minor issues: some of the holes they cut we a bit large requiring cosmetic sheet rock repairs, and the fan that was switched out is a bit noisy indicating that it might not be completely level. Otherwise they were very good and I would use them again.
Working with Alley cannot get any easier. We looked around, got a couple of bids and decided on Alley. Their pricing is competitive and actually better. Wesley was incredibly professional, no frills, no pressure. He came in, noted our concerns, came back with a proposal, we approved the proposal, and a week and half later, our project was done. We thought that we needed a rewire of the house but Wesley advised that we did not need a whole house rewire - now that is honesty. On the day of the project, both Jordan and Ajou (I hope His name is spelled right) came in a little after 8:00 a.m. and simply finished the job. Everybody are truly great to work with at Alley Electric. I will work with them again in a heartbeat if we ever need to do anything electrical-related.
We had an electrical problem in our house. I contacted Alley on Wednesday afternoon and they had a crew there at 7 am Thursday. James and Azul (not sure of spelling) were polite, professional, and found and fixed the problem in an hour. They did the repair for the pre-quoted price and also replaced a couple of wall sockets at no additional cost. I would use them again and recommend them without reservation.
Courteous and prompt response but their pricing model doesn't make sense. I'm okay paying a higher price but they were quoting a minimum for each task.
Basically had three fairly simple tasks... Change a chandelier (small dining area one), troubleshoot a wall that had no power on both sides and check out a light bulb. Was surprised that they quoted me a minimum price for each task. I understand people charging a minimum for a job or to come over, but once you are over and the minimum is met, you go on a clock! Not minimum 85$ for chandelier, then 150$ to checkout the wall (and more if you go over an hour) and another 50$ to see why a light bulb isn't working.
I guess they are free to quote whatever they please but it didn't make sense to me. It's a rip off. Needless to say, I passed on them.
Wow, just wow--they came quickly to fix our 2 bathroom fans. 3 guys came and were neat, professional and quick. They had to add duct work to our existing system. Their price was what they quoted, and left the place very tidy. Will definitely use them again if we have further electrical needs

We brought in Alley Electric for a complete electrical overhaul of our 1927 bungalow. Everything was upgraded - the service from the street, the panel, every bit of wiring, every switch, every fixture.
Wes came in for the estimate, and it was obvious from the get-go that he was extremely knowledgeable about electrical codes and requirements, as well as what would be desirable for livability. We spoke to a number of other contractors, but Wes was really head and shoulders above the others.
And when it came time for the work to be done, Wes and Alina were complete professionals. Their staging area was kept immaculately organized, they cleaned up after themselves every day, and Wes was in communication with us regularly on the progress. He even educated us on how to use the ceiling fans we selected, and replaced the plug on our stove when we realized it wasn't grounded. (It was a really old stove!)
At the end of the day, Alley Electric turned in a complete electrical remodel of our home quickly and professionally. We don't doubt for a moment that we made the right choice!
Alley Electric (Wesley & Alina) is one of those rare finds! They were an absolute pleasure to work with and made the entire process easy and stress free. In the process of updating our recently purchased house, we've worked with a number of various contractors and Alley Electric was by far at the top of the list. I only wish that every contractor was as good to work with. I give them my highest recommendation!
I had Wesley do a variety of electrical jobs at my beautiful 1928 house. He upgraded the panel and added an additional panel to my garage (which I was converting to a photography studio). He added new circuits and new wiring to our house and also completely wired the garage.
First of all, Wesley is always extremely professional. He knows his stuff and always made sure things were done the right way. The job went easily with absolutely no issues and no stress.
The work was always clean and he did a great job of avoiding any damage to our old plaster walls. They always cleaned up after the job was done and were always very respectful of our home.
Wesley went above and beyond expectations. For instance, one day, when I was having the drywall installed in the garage, I realized I needed a last minute change to the wiring in the garage. The drywall guys were getting ready to drywall that area, so there was serious time pressure to get it done. When Wesley arrived, he got right on it and quickly got the change made. He scaled a wall, and ran down the top of a fence to do it. Most excellent service!!
Wesley is very straightforward to deal with. He has consistent pricing so you always know how much things are going to cost. And the final bill is exactly what the estimate was (unless, of course, you add things at the last minute).
I give Alley Electric my highest recommendation for both small and big jobs.

My husband and I moved to a new house, and we had our outlets upgraded as needed (GFI). We upgraded our power from 100 amps to 200 amps; remove an old subpanel and replaced it was a junction box, and had a new main panel installed; we also had some light fixtures repaired. We got bids from a few different electricians and selected Wes because his proposal was the most sound and reasonable to us.
We will be using Wes from now on -- he's good people. We found this electrician to be honest, considerate, friendly, and professional.
Alley Electric showed up on time for their appointment, listened and asked questions about the issue I was having, and then fixed my electrical problem. I'm not getting shocked turning my back deck light on and off anymore, this is a good thing :)
It was a couple who showed up and thought they had to make two trips out to get the parts they wanted I'm happy with the results.

Wow!...great service and very professional!
I work in real estate and needed a licensed, bonded, & insured electrician quickly for a job...Alley Electric came through with flying colors. They had an opening same day, came out to the job site on right on scheduled time, reviewed the job & gave a quote...then did the job on the spot after I approved the bid! Wes and Alina were very professional. Wes did all the wiring work in under an hour & even pointed out a few items to bring to the buyer's attention.
You can't go wrong with Alley electric. I have an old 1960s house that had the original electrical system. No grounding, and an archaic 100 amp box. I signed up with Angie's List to find an electrical contractor in my area with good ratings. I read through a few reviews, then saw Alley electric. The reviews were stellar, and I read a few specific reviews about the company that applied directly to the work I wanted to have done. (Rewire of the whole house, plus a new panel install) I called to schedule a meeting with Wesley for an estimate. When he showed up he was very professional, has a clean truck, dressed in Alley electric shirt, and very courteous. I've had the experience in the past where contractors showed up smelling, dirty, unorganized etc. Wesley is the exact opposite of this. In the first 10 minutes I knew that Wesley was the right guy for the job.
Wesley promptly sent the first quote promptly after his first visit. I requested a few changes to the quote to which Wesley quickly responded with a revised quote. It's also a nice plus that Wesley sent the quotes via email so there was no need for faxing or meeting during this process. I appreciated the quick replies and professional demeanor.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Wesley's wife and business partner Alina. As you'd imagine she also is very courteous, and a pleasure to work with. She was responsible for pulling the permit for the job.
I was also impressed that since they are animal lovers such as myself, they were very nice to our two young cats, and did not have a problem with them. The cats are indoor only cats, and Wesley is the only contractor to work at my house so far that seemed to be aware of the fact that the cats would run out if the door was left wide open. Which brings me to the fact that he's very conscientious throughout the entire process. He cleaned up after any messes (such as cutting wood/sheetrock), and was overall very clean and tidy. Another rarity with residential contractors.
The materials Wesley used were top-notch. The new panel he installed looked immaculate, and passed inspection.
Wesley also went above and beyond the call of duty when PG + E didn't show up on time. (surprise PG+E not on time?) We had a window of time where PG + E was supposed to disconnect the main service, and reconnect the service. They showed up late to do the disconnect, Wesley then had to hustle to wire up the new box, however PG + E didn't show up until 8:45PM when they were supposed to be there at 5. Wesley patiently waited at the house until PG + E showed up to test the new panel, and make sure everything worked ok before he went home for the night. Definitely above and beyond.
I am going to recommend Wesley to all of my family, friends and co-workers. He's a straight shooter, easy to deal with, and you won't be disappointed.

Alley Electric installed a 240V 50amp charger port in my garage for our electric car. There were some technical issues with our main fuse box regarding load and capacity. I had spoken to several electricians, and each person had a different opinion on how to resolve. Wesley helped find the best solution at the right cost. I really appreciated his technical expertise. They updated our panel and installed the charger quickly and left our garage very clean.
I've used Alley Electric a couple of times. The first was a bigger job to install new outdoor light fixtures and upgrade the sub panel in the garage. The second time was a small job to troubleshoot and replace a bad breaker in the main panel. Both jobs went very smoothly. Wesley showed the same level of professionalism and caring in both jobs. Wesley and his team at Alley Electric are easy to work with and will definitely get all of my future electrical business.
My master bathroom light and exhaust were not working. I called Wesley seeing all the positive reviews. When he came he figured it was because one of the outlet was tripped. He was kind enough not to charge me for it. I needed some other work done on my house and I asked him for a quote. He noted down everything and sent me a quote the next day. I liked the quote and scheduled the work to be done. There were no surprises. All the work was done professionally. One of the lights I got installed was connected to the wrong circuit and it wasn't working as expected. I called them back and Wesley came and fixed the issue quickly. I will keep Alley in mind when I need any other work done on my house.
Alley electric responded to my quote request quickly, gave a very reasonable estimate and was able to squeeze me in on an early Saturday morning. Highly recommend this company
We are very happy with the work that Alley Electric did for us! The company, run by Wesley Sedain and his wife, Alina, is professional, competent, meticulous, and competitive!
We own a 1500 square foot house with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom that was built in 1925 with knob and tube wiring. We wanted to upgrade and bring up to code all the electrical (with the exception of the kitchen, which will be done as part of a future kitchen remodel). The work done by Alley Electric included upgrading the 100-amp main panel to 200 amps (also with a 100-amp subpanel), replacing and reconfiguring all the circuits (wiring, switches, and outlets), including adding GFCI and AFCI circuits as required by code), installing hard-wired smoke and CO alarms, and installing owner-supplied fixtures and ceiling fans. This was a big project which took 2-2 1/2 weeks, with 1-3 electricians present every day. Alley Electric also took care of the permitting.
Our first contact with Alley Electric was with Alina, who set up the appointment for the estimate. Alina was super professional, courteous and responsive. Wesley came out to do the estimate. He was very thorough, competent, knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly, and the resulting estimate which he sent to us via email was done on a spreadsheet and was very detailed - Wes provided a line item cost for each and every installation, that is, every switch, outlet, fixture, circuit, etc. Nothing was left unaccounted for! As a result, there were no surprises at the end of the job in terms of what was or was not included in the estimate.
As for the work itself, Wesley and his crew were very punctual, efficient, courteous, and very responsive. They were careful to minimize the mess and inconvenience - it was a pleasure having them around!
All in all, working with Wesley and Alina and their crew was a very positive experience. We feel much safer with the upgraded electrical in our home!
Highly Recommended!!

Wesley did a terrific job installing some new light fixtures and doing a small repair of a socket and switch box. He also arranged to come at a time that was most convenient for my schedule and completed the work very quickly.

Had a circuit breaker this morning when multiple heaters running simultaneously. Called Alley Electric and the representative walked me through the process of how to turn it back on again. In 3 minutes, it was fixed and everything is back on again. Thank you Alley Electric, now I know who to look for when an electric issue occurs.
I have been very happy with Alley Electric. This is a family owned business and they put Customer Satisfaction at the top of their priorities. The Owner, Wesley is very diligent about responding to your email and phone calls. I have used them for 3 small projects including ceiling fan installation, outdoor light timer and installation of LED can lights in ceilings with dimmers. They have always quoted a fair price, been on time, kept the work space clean and thoroughly tested and demonstrated operation. They are friendly to work with and, in my experience, dependable, fair and knowledgable. I recommend them!
We originally contacted Alley Electric and two more electricians earlier this year after moving to our current house. It is almost 30-year old house and the electric main box has been used since the original owner. Although it is still functioning OK, we wanted to upgrade 100 amp to 125/150 amp service.
Alley's quote was a little bit higher than another one, but the follow-up and response was much better, so we decided to try Alley since we were looking for a reliable electrician for other electrical work planned. We ended up with requesting several smaller-scale electrical work first before the main box upgrade. They were flexible to support our new requests in a timely manner with reasonable price.
Definitely, we'll contact them again for our other electrical work. And I've already recommended Alley Electric to our real estate agent friend.

Thanks to the reviews on Yelp, I decided to give them a try. I'm not sure why those reviews aren't here anymore, but I've heard it's because Yelp has a reputation for taking off reviews unless a business pays them for advertising.
Wesley came to my home back in October to see the work I needed to have done and gave me a bid. With my Dad being an electrical engineering consultant he had plenty of other electricians he could have referred me to. Upon reviewing my estimate, in short he said it's a very good bid, just go with it.
I finally saved enough to make it happen and had the fans in my bathrooms, kitchen light, and backyard light replaced...and finally got GFCI outlets replacements for both the kitchen and bathrooms. He did quite a bit more, but I won't get into that.
Wesley and Alina were extremely professional throughout the entire process. He said it would take 2 days, and he actually completed the work even faster than I could have imagined. After each day, they both cleaned up everything and to a point almost left the area cleaner than it had been to start with.
I know I have some other things to do, and know who I'm calling for electrical work.
They're licensed electricians. If you get a lower quote from a handyman there's a reason for that. You get what you pay for. I'm not saying all handymen are bad, but unless you want to risk an electrical fire go with a pro...I've had to learn the hard way.

Alley Electric is a stand up company. This review is WAY past due, so Wes I apologize. I called him as I was doing an addition to my house, and ran into an immediate need for an electrician. Wes came out and gave me a fair quote and even accommodated my needy request during a very busy time for him. They were honest, on time and did a great job.
Thank you Wes!

Again, I am very happy and impressed with the service and work by Wesley and his team. Wesley gave a quote and arranged his team to finish the work while he was vacationing. My big thanks to Alley!
Had Wesley and his crew out to do some misc. electrical work. Showed up on time, quality work, very professional, reasonable prices! Will definitely be using Alley for any future work needed.
I had a really bad experience with a different electrician a few years back with a faulty light switch that ended up never getting fix. So this time around, for the last minute renovations I was doing before the arrival of my baby, I decided to turn to Yelp to look for a reputable electrician. Based on their many excellent reviews, I decided to give Alley Electric a try, and I'm so glad I did. Wes and Alina really care about their reputation and are honest and very professional. They ended up installing 4 new recessed lights in the living room, two new lights in the master and family room and they fixed the faulty light in the nursery.
I should mention that I had another bid from a different electrician, and I was told I would not be able to have recessed lights in my living room due to the slope ceiling and beams. However, with Alley Electric, Wes had assured me that it would be a bit tricky, but definitely possible. And he was right! Danny spent a good few hours in our attic crawl space installing the four recessed lights and it ended up looking amazing.
Overall I couldn't be happier with the end result. I'm so glad I finally found a reliable, honest electrician. I will definitely be using Alley Electric when we update our kitchen.

We wanted to replace some recessed kitchen ceiling lights.
It went great. Wesley gave us two different options, depending on how many of the lights we decided to replace at this time. FYI this is a husband and wife team. They seem to work well together and clean up everything when they're done. Plus their prices seem very reasonable. I highly recommend Alley Electric and would not hesitate to use them again.
The work was completed on 7-19-16.
We needed some electric outlets put in and few other odd electrical work done. I called Wesley after reading all the great reviews. He came the next evening to give us an estimate. Then when he came to do all the work, it was done with care,.He and his coworker were very thorough. We are very happy with the work and the cost was also reasonable. I highly recommend Wesley and Alley electric.
Thanks Wesley.

Wesley's company came to our aid with a very difficult GFI issue. He found the problem and put in a new dedicated GFI line to our water feature pump that solved the problem and put us back on-track to enjoying our water feature again. I would highly recommend Alley Electric for all of your electric projects. Great group!

Wesley has been doing all electrical work at our house for years. He just installed an L2 evse charger which is working great. Punctual, no-fuss, working with Wesley is a no brainer.
It's been awhile since I've used Alley Electric, but they were the best. Maybe not the best price, but the best quality of service available. He is friendly, experienced and very trustworthy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alley Electric to anyone.
Fantastic team of electricians. Wesley and Chris were prompt and quick in their installation of the electrical for our hot tub. I gave them the wrong specs. and they were able to make adjustments to finish the job. I really appreciate how easy they made the process. Very fair pricing. I will definitely hire them again!
This is the second time I used Alley Electric and they continue to do a fantastic job. I never know how they are able to get the wires run to where they need to go, but they do it well. I had a few new outlets installed and cable for my TV installed and when they were finished, you could never tell they were even there.
Great job again Wesley. I will definitely hire Alley Electric the next time around!
Every time I had a problem with electrical issues, I would call Alley electric.
Wesley (the owner) has been really great, always on time and always provide the best lowest possible cost.
One time I had problems with a few electric outlets in my house, I called Wesley. He came over and looked at the circuit breaker, and told me it was the circuit breaker. He turned in back on and did not charge me a dime for the call....
I would definitely recommend Alley electric for any electrical problems.

I definitely recommend Alley Electric!
I did not know who to use when I needed an electrician and wanted to use a certified electrician to make sure the job was done properly. I looked at the top 40 yelp reviews for Electricians. There was only one company (even though it was listed in the 30s) I considered and it was Alley Electric, based on the reviews. Their reviews looked like they were from real people (not fake like some of the other reviews I looked at) and they were current.
(I had previously had #1 come to give me an estimate for another job and I was not impressed and did not hire him. Looking at reviews for other electricians, many of them did not seem to be written by actual customers but by friends of the electrician because they had similar writing style, were over a year old, etc.)
I emailed requesting Alley Electric to contact me on a Friday afternoon. They called me back Saturday morning and showed up when they said they would on Saturday afternoon to give me the estimate. Estimate was very fair and they gave 10% discount for finding them on yelp plus 10% Senior discount. Wes and Alina were professional, nice and very knowledgeable about codes, options, etc.
Joseph (an electrician who works for Wes and Alina) arrived at scheduled time and did an excellent job. I had outlet box changed, plugs replaced, proper wiring done to garbage disposal including wall outlet, waterproof GFI replaced, etc. I am extremely happy with work done. There was even a double switch garbage disposal/overhead light with outlet that I had not mentioned but it has bugged me for nearly 30 years, but someone previously told me it could not be changed. Wes gave me very reasonable estimate on the spot, Joseph changed it and t looks great. I couldn't be a more pleased customer.
I plan on using Alley Electric when I need further work (I would like some ceiling fans installed) and have already recommended them to my family.
Was a little hard to schedule, but now I know why their service is so much in demand. Extremely professional, courteous and fast. Chris and his partner were on time, finished the job promptly, and made sure to leave the place clean (it matters, especially when you have a restless little one!). I would definitely hire them again, and highly recommend them.
My circuit breaker tripped last Friday and caused one bedroom and two baths out of power. I called a few electricians near Fremont, only Alley can make it the same day. They showed up as promised, and the troubleshooting of finding where the short circuit is took more than 2 hours and including labor intensive moving furnitures around. At the end of it, they didn't charge me extra and stick to the bid they quote me over the phone, for standard $150. they are nice and friendly people, I am glad and will call them again next time.
Thanks to Wesley and Alena. Wesley was not able to come but Alena and Francisco came by. Took care of things on a timely manner. Was able to figure out issues and took care of it. Very pleased with the service. Highly recommended.
Alley Electric does GREAT work at a reasonable price. I have contracted with them 3 times within the past year for different projects. It is difficult to find reliable and knowledgeable contractors and after they completed the first project I knew I would hire them again because they did great work. They are very responsive and professional. They are highly recommended!
I made a call to the office and left my number. Wesley called me a few minutes later and arrived shortly thereafter. He opened up my electrical panel and discovered that the ground wire was disconnected. He reconnected it and all was back to normal. Great to be working with a thorough professional. I offer my highest recommendation!

Alley Electric were absolutely amazing at helping me with my electricity outage. Alina responded quickly to my phone message and she even spent time on the phone to walk me through my electrical issues so I don't have to overspend extra money to fix the problem. The electrician they sent out, Chris was absolutely fabulous. He was professional, courteous and took the time to tediously trouble shoot our electrical problem. Thank you again Chris for your excellent professional skill and service. My wife and I are very satisfied with the service provided by Alina and Chris with Alley Electric. Definitely highly recommended! Oh and one more thing, their cost for service was very reasonable and provided tremendous amount of value. Thank you so much Alley Electric.
Excellent experience. We needed to have 2 ceiling fans and a light installed in our kitchen in May. Wesley worked with our schedule to visit the house to write up the quote, and also worked with us to find a suitable day to do the job.
They arrived promptly at 8:30 AM on the day we scheduled and were courteous and professional. What was even more impressive was how quickly the work was completed: roughly 3 hours, including attic work and adding switches. Before they left, the areas where they worked were cleaner than when they started, and the boxes for the fans/lights were saved and set aside.
We highly recommend Wesley and Alley Electric and are looking forward to working with them again in the future for our small electrical jobs.

Alley Electric was recommended straight away by my realtor after I encountered a problem in my recently purchased home. Wesley did a thorough diagnosis of the repair needed for the updated 1920s property and returned the next day with the needed part and we were good to go. Wesley was on time, professional in all ways and charged a very fair fee, lower than I'd expected.

Wesley's timely schedule and quick response with a reasonable quote made us feel very comfortable. Then the work crew , Chris and Alex ,came over and replaced our two bathroom fans in a very professional way, effective and clean. We will definitely recommend Alley to our friends.
We had Wesley ground half of the electric system in our house, he was on time and efficient, for a reasonable price. We are really happy with his services.
Great job done by Alley electric. Wesley has completed the work very quick. Very efficient and dependable.
I called them to change a plug for an EV charger. They were very professional on the phone and it was easy to set up an appointment. Wesley came to do the work and was very professional and polite, and answered all my questions. I have worked with other electricians and have found them to have an attitude, but not these guys, and the fees were very reasonable. I'll work with them again!!

We were looking for a local electrician for getting our porch lights, garage lights and some additional lights outside our front door all fixed up and ready to go. We contacted a few local outfits, but Alley Electric was the most prompt and the most responsive.
They were very easy to get in touch with, and very professional to work with. They are a couple who work together as a team. They had to make two trips out to our home, once to give us a quote and the second time to complete the work.
Overall, we were extremely satisfied by the quality of their work, the finishing touches and the professionalism.
we have a lot of electrical work we need to get done and will be contacting them!
Over the past month or so I've used Alley Electric twice. The first time was to wall mount a TV and the other time was to install an outdoor camera. Both times were great. I had a different person come out for each of the jobs and both times they were on time and they called saying they were on their way. The price quotes were reasonable and the quality of work was great. I really like this company and will gladly refer them to anyone needing electrical services.
We needed to install a 10-circuit transfer switch at our house in Alameda to manage standby power from a portable generator during extended power outages (just when, not if...). Wesley and his crew did a great job, on time and on budget, very professional and easy to work with. We had used them once before on a smaller job and were very happy with the results, and they came through for us on this one as well. We will definitely use them for all our electrical fixes/upgrades in the future, and we highly recommend them.

Wesley came out to replace a bedroom ceiling light fixture and to replace an old hardwired sprinkler controller with a new power outlet and new controller. They were very prompt in getting back after the initial contact inquiry from their website and with scheduling a quote visit. Arrival was within the 2 hour window agreed upon. I was very satisfied with the whole process and the finished work. Exactly how all vendors should operate. I highly recommend them for electrical projects.
Alley Electric was quick and professional. Wesley came out and gave us a quote to install a bathroom exhaust fan and an outlet in the crawl space. He was reasonably priced and included all materials and labor. The work crew that came out a couple days later was also efficient and professional. They took roughly two hours and every thing was done. Alley electric was great to work with and I would recommend them.
Chris was awesome. Showed up on time and completed the job as quoted. Would definitely recommend.
Wesley and Alina are a pleasure to work with. We could not be happier. His team was always on time, happy to answer any questions and did fantastic work. We ran into a few problems during the project (none of which were his fault) and each time he went out of his way to fix the issue for us. I highly recommend Alley for any electrical work you need done.
Wesley is great at what he does super polite and excellent at the quoting doing the work. We had a little issue on the day and Wesley recovered and lived up to the expectations that he presented.
Wesley replaced our hall light switch, a few wall outlets, upgraded our recessed kitchen light to LED and re-wired our kitchen track light transformer to make it work again! He was a genius, very resourceful and creative, a true professional...just absolutely excellent! We will definitely use him in the future and will refer him to our family and friends.
Superb job- Alina and Wesley are very professional, prompt responses over text and email. Electricians were punctual, knew their job (recessed lights installation) and did good work! Definitely recommend and will use again.
i had Alley Electric install recessed lights in my house. starting from the quotation process the team was very engaging and detailed. Wesley provided all the necessary info before starting the work. Two guys came in and completed the job in 5 hours. Highly recommended. Thanks Wesley!
My bathroom lights had gone out. Alley Electric was willing to come the same day for an appointment. Chris came perfectly on time. He charged me the same price that was quoted. It took a while to locate the loose connection in the house. He had even called Wesley to come over and help him out if need be. From the bazillion outlets in the house, Chris figured the outlet which was causing issues and fixed the problem. The house was empty, I didn't even have water to offer Chris. He got his own water too and didn't complain. He offered twice to clean up the place after even though I told him not to bother with it as the cleaners were scheduled to come the next day. Very professional. Satisfied with the job done. Will definitely hire them again.
I called Alley electric a 2nd time. The lights at the entrance went out. Both Wesley and Alina made time the same day, came after hours at 7pm, waited for me as I was running late and worked overtime until 8:30pm. Due to so many outlets in the house it was hard to figure out the outlet causing issues. Both Wesley and Alina came back again the next day and resolved the issue. They even cleaned up the place after, replaced one of the porch light bulbs that had gone out and left 2 extra light bulbs. Very nice, friendly and wonderful people. Thank you for fixing my electric problems twice in a row. Very happy with your service.
The crew showed up on time, 8:00 a.m.! They were very friendly, and professional. They went to work immediately and explained to us what was being done and why. They worked quickly and cleanly. I would suggest using them, I will definitely call them again.

Last week I had a wonderful experience with Wesley from Alley Electric.
I had a problem in which several outlets in my master bedroom and 1 switch in my master bathroom weren't working. Alley Electric was actually the 3rd electrical company I had come out to take a look at my problem.
The first company sent an electrician who spent a few hours searching for the root cause, but couldn't find it and recommended I find another contractor.
The second company sent an electrician who spent about an hour searching for the root cause, but also couldn't find it. However, he said that if we run a wire in the walls between one working outlet and another non-working outlet, that will fix the problem. He quoted us $675 for the job.
Because of the high cost estimate, we decided to get a second opinion from a more experienced electrician. This time we called Alley Electric, based on the strong Yelp reviews and a recommendation from someone we knew. Wesley came out to our house and -- in about half an hour -- identified the root cause and fixed it. It turned out that the problem was a loose connection with one of the wires. No need to run a new wire in the wall! As a result, the total cost of Wesley's service was much, much less than I would have paid for that second contractor to run the new wire.
On top of saving us a lot of money, Wesley was also very kind and friendly. I'm very thankful that we trusted the strong reviews here on Yelp and decided to give Alley Electric a try. Next time, Wesley is going to be the *first* person I contact with any other electrical issues I have in the future!

I hired Wesley's team for installation of 4 ceiling fans and recessed lights. From the initial estimate (which was in person), to the revisions based on changes requested by me later to the execution of the work, there were no surprises in the process which is a testimony to their professionalism. Post completion sheet rock repair for projects like recessed lights installation would be a nice add on to the good quality work done by the team. This was not a surprise as it was mentioned during the estimation step but it results in extra work for the home owner and hiring of two teams vs one to finish the whole project.

When I asked for quotes on Yelp for a GFCI replacement, Wesley from Alley Electric gave me a reasonable bid within minutes. On the next day he sent Chris, who did a great job! He was efficient and fast and fixed the problem nicely. I'm very pleased with their work and would definitely recommend the service!
Super! Owner Wesley is prompt, efficient and courteous. That goes for his crew who came out to do the work. I will call them again for any future electrical need. I used to ask around for an electrician. Now I don't have to do that because I found a great one!
Company installed a dedicated 110 VAC power line from my switchbox to the garage. Price was good, workers were prompt and professional. I'm *very* satisfied with the work.

Wesley was knowledgeable and efficient. I highly recommend Alley Electric.
We hired Alley Electric to replace a couple cable lines, install a new outdoor outlet, and install a landscape lighting system. They knew exactly what to do. They showed up with three people and got the job done quickly. I found them to be very easy to work with, and their price was fair. I highly recommend Alley Electric.
The Alley Electric has removed an outdoor power line that was posing safety hazard. I am pleased with the result, as well as with overall experience working with the Alley Electric.
FAIR UPFRONT PRICING. COMPETENT PROFESSIONAL
Wednesday 4:30PM I called Alley Electric. Quite a few lights and power outlets were without power. The woman who answered the phone said he could come by on his way down from Oakland at around 6:30PM and take a look. She quoted a fair price, right on the phone.
Wes came by and looked at the CFE outlet which we said normally was the problem. He also looked at several other switches before heading out to the circuit box in the Garage. He came back into the house in about 10 minutes and gave us the diagnoses. PG&E was supplying only half the necessary power to the house. (One phase instead of two is what he said.) He took me out to the the circuit breaker box and showed me with his electrical detecting device that only 1/2 the circuits were active.
He then took me out to the meter and showed me that only one of two wires was supplying power to the house. He said our roof connection seemed to look okay and he suspected the problem was on the power pole. He provided the number for PG&E and put the cover back on the box.
PG&E came out a few hours later and the problem was fixed.
I asked Wesley about rewiring the house and he said that he would quote
$XX per outlet or light switch
$XX per 20AMP circuit line.
$300 for pulling permits and attending the inspection.
Actual Permit Price from the City.
He also said that we would have to upgrade our PGE line coming in to current code and that would cost $QQQQ. He then provided a rough verbal quote and asked us to let him know when we were ready for a written quote.
I really like his professional skills, friendly manner, and straight forward honest pricing.
We needed the old fuse box service upgraded to a 200 amp service panel and old knob and tube wiring replaced and additional outlets iadded to our kitchen and bathroom. We had three bids and settled on Alley Electric.
We were absolutely delighted by the service that the owners, Wesley and Alina, and their two associates provided.. Concise detailed estimate and contract. All aspects of the job handled in the best professional manor. All communications were timely and We were always kept posted on progress as phases of the project occurred. Never had to deal with the City of Oakland or PG&E. The Alley team were neat, considerate, responsive and flexible. I was especially pleased that they managed to replace so much wiring and add so many outlets without putting any holes in the walls (we'd just painted and had been told by two bidders that hole patching was almost an inevitability. Could not be happier.
Got my electrical panel upgraded from 60amp to 200 amp recently. It took him only two days to finish the job as promised. Wisely did a very nice job. The work was done professionally and it passed the city code. I lbelieve their price is very competitive too based on serverial places I called. My neighbor wanted Wisely to upgrage his panel after he saw mine. :)
I will call Wisely again if I need any electricity related work to be done.

They were very sincere and knowledgable. The wife and husband tandem works. You feel that they know what they are talking about and real experts of their craft. I feel safe now knowing that they went around and tested every power plug in the house. The yelp coupon saved me $25 which is very useful nowadays.
I needed to re-wire 2 bathrooms and add a couple of dedicated, grounded circuits in my house and have the electric sub-panel cleaned up.
I hired Alley Electric after extensive research. I was not disappointed.
Wes and crew were professional, knowledgeable, and punctual. I requested them to either wear shoe covers or not wear shoes inside the house. Between the three of them, they must of entered/exited the front door 50+ times. Not once did they forget to take off their shoes. Very impressed! Wes made improvement recommendations but was not pushy. He even pointed out which ones might need professional installation and which ones could be done by me. I would definitely use Alley Electric again in the future. Highly recommend.
We hired Alley Electric to install recessed lights throughout our entire house last summer. I normally like to wait a few months to write these types of reviews in case anything goes wrong and we have NOT had any problems with their work since the installation 9 months ago. We LOVE our new lights! Wesley and Alina were very professional from the get-go. I could tell they were very knowledgeable and experienced after speaking with them about our needs. Our project took 3 days (as anticipated) and they always showed up on time everyday and they were very pleasant to work with. Alina even helped clean up all the debris each day before they left. Their pricing is very reasonable as well. I highly recommend Alley Electric for anyone looking for an experienced electrician with a high level of professionalism and competitive pricing.
Got two estimates for two outlets in the garage that kept tripping. An electrician with the fancy truck came first. He recommended the whole electrical panel to be replaced at a cost of ~$1700. We decided to call Alley Electric because of their high Yelp rating. Had to wait a few days but it was worth the wait. Wesley came out and looked at the problem. Fixed it in 5 minutes for $125. No need to change the electrical panel because the panel was in perfect condition. Call Alley Electric and you will be not be sorry.
We had problems with the GCI outlets in our bathrooms. Our call was responded to within less than ten minutes and Tim was on site in less than one hour. He quickly identified the problem and corrected it, as well as providing expert advice for any future problems. The total charge was $125...just the quoted diagnostic fee. The total experience with Alley Electric was very professional and friendly and they are now our 'go to' choice for all electrical work!!

I called Alley to fix two outlets that were non-functional, as well as to get a bid on having two overhead fans / lights installed in 2 bedrooms. Wes and one of his guys came out the next day and had the outlets working in no time. While writing the bid, Wes saved me money by suggesting that we skip the fans if our goal is to list the house, since must stagers recommend against that. I appreciated his honesty, despite Wes' recommendation being in contrast to his own business interests. That same day I had a bid in hand, the price was very fair and we had him out a few days later to install the lights. His guys showed up on time, were very courteous, verified that shoes in the house was OK, did the work quickly, cleanly and the result looks great. Couldn't recommend these guys enough.
Wesley came and fixed our problem with a circuit in our house the same day we called. He was pleasant and professional, honest and fair. Alley Electric's troubleshooting fee was far less than a few of the other companies I checked. We will use them again if we need to.

Wesley is always prompt, accurate, does quality work and went above and beyond for us in advocating at Home Depot to replace some faulty light fixtures. He's great
Alley installed power for an outdoor fountain. Project involved punching through from an inside outlet to the outside, burying conduit and then raising the conduit and attaching it to a fence, and finally providing a power outlet by the fountain.
The price was fair--$365--, work was very well done; nice clean-up after the job.
I'd certainly use them again for future work.

Awesome service! I heard of Alley Electric through a friend who had some work done by Wesley, so I called for an estimate to have a bathroom fan installed, a second switch installed in bathroom (so I'd have fan and lights on separate switches), and an outdoor outlet put in on my back patio. The estimate was extremely reasonable and I scheduled the work. Wes and Alina were on time, easily coped with some problems (I'd bought the wrong size fan, the second switch required a little cutting through some sheetrock, AND I'd bought the wrong type of outlet for outdoor use), they were careful about covering my floor and bathroom fixtures to prevent any damage, were really friendly and fun to talk to, and the charges were exactly as estimated. I highly recommend and will use them again if I ever need electrical work done.

Alley Electric was very professional and efficient. They were on time on the day they were scheduled for the work which consisted of changing out a ceiling light fan , replacing several light switches and fixing one of the ceiling lights. They were both thorough and quick and I would most definitely used them again.

I contacted Wesley about installing a level 2 electric vehicle charger for my home - this required adding a 40 A circuit to the house. Wesley was prompt in responding to me and the prices he charged seemed fair. They showed up on time and the installation went off without a hitch.
he is expensive but on time and quick. He fixed the issue but after a week I had the same problem. He came back as soon as I called him and fixed it again without any extra charge. Nice guy!
We needed several overhead lights wired and installed. Called Alley Electric and they scheduled promptly. They were on time. There were some concerns we had with the job, which Wes addressed to our satisfaction.
We had Wes come back for a second, and smaller job. We would use their services again.
I purchased a home and a lot of electrical setup was not correct. Wes came out and access everything and got everything working the way it should through the whole house. Great work, great rates! Thanks again Alley Electric!
We hired Wesley and his team to upgrade our main panel, install a 20-amp circuit to upgrade our bathroom power supply, and install 2 GRCIs in that same bathroom. Basically, the previous owners of our home remodeled the kitchen and bathrooms without upgrading the panel to properly handle the load. As we eventually discovered, wires were burning up in our light switches and fixtures, and we would blow circuits when the hairdryer went on. Overall it became a real safety issue.
Through positive Yelp and Angie's List reviews, we contacted Alley. Wesley came out for the diagnosis and estimate, and work began in early July. Tim & Daniel came out over the course of 2 (hot!) days, doing all necessary work in a timely, professional manner. Wesley stopped by often to touch base and keep us informed as to the progress. He was very easy to talk to and answered our questions with obvious experience and knowledge. Wesley arranged all necessary appointments and paperwork to ensure the correct city permit and inspection. He called our power company, contacted the city for final inspection, and filled out the permit. It couldn't have been easier.
Even with 2 additional minor problems we encountered once they finished, I emailed Wesley, and either he and Alina or his team promptly came out to fix the problem. We know we can trust Alley Electric for their work, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to everyone I know.
I would have given them no star but that is not an option on Yelp. Westlyn is extremely unprofessional. We had hired him to do some house work. Not only he broke our dry wall ceiling twice, but had a courage to tell me that I am a lier. He did pay to fix the dry wall but I had to hire another electrician to fix the problems Alley Electric created. The way Westlyn behaved over the phone, I had to file a police complain. The list of complaints can go on but who has time. Just so that unsuspecting person doesn't end up hiring like I did, I am putting this review up. My recommendation is that avoid these unprofessionals.

Our attic fan stopped working just before a heat wave; we weren't sure if the problem was the fan itself, a switch or the breaker. Just in case it was the fan, my husband had purchased a new one. Wesley and Alina were right on time, fast, efficient and very easy to work with. Wesley identified the problem as the fan within just a few minutes; he got the new one installed in very short order. Very professional and I would not hesitate to call them again.
I had them re-wire my garage lighting which was a hodgepodge affair. Alley got it right, super nice folks to work with; professional and great price!

Alley Electric came to my rescue in fitting me in their schedule and getting the job done in a professional manner at a reasonable price. It was a somewhat complicated job that non-electricians would not touch. Their attention to detail from planning to end was appreciated. The installation happened a number of months ago and everything is still working fine. I did have to hire someone else to do the sheetrock repair afterwards, which is typical for an electrician.

Great couple. Very professional, polite and worked as a team. I did not have a 10% off coupon from yelp but they gave me the discount anyway. Would recommend them!
I had a positive experience; we had recessed LED lighting installed in several rooms and some miscellaneous re-wiring in the house. Alley Electric came back to make sure we were fully satisfied with the work. They were very reliable -- from the first appointment for the estimate to the final appointment to do some finishing touches, they were on time, professional and communicative. I would recommend them highly!
I have used Wesley several times over the past 2 years, as our new home has many older ceiling recessed lights that continue to need replacing, as well as some installation work of new lights. His company and crew are always professional, prompt, and they do an excellent job.
Wesley and crew installed a number of ceiling fans and did some other electrical work a few months ago. They were very pleasant and made sure every detail was attended to. When the electricity went out in half our house this week I emailed Wesley. He responded in minutes and we made an appt for the next day.... Working within a very tight window that I could be at my house. Just like before Wesley arrived on time. He troubleshooted the problem and repaired it quickly. Thank you Wesley!

I just called this company because of the great Yelp reviews and was shocked by the response I received. We need a kitchen light repaired for a clients house and I was told that they do not do commercial nor will they do any work for properties in escrow. I tried to explain that this is NOT in escrow- the seller would be paying for repairs upfront and I received nothing but attitude. Thank you but I will take our business elsewhere. Very disappointing!
We had Alley Electric convert fuse boxes and install new circuits in our old, four-unit rental property. All of the work was done with permits and inspectors. We selected Alley Electric because of their approach to converting the fuse boxes in the closets of each apartment, which was not a straight forward job. We were satisfied with the work and would recommend this group for electrical work in big old buildings.
Alley Electric did fantastic job on time , very neat, very professional from start to completion job. If you need a electrician I suggest you contact them.
Had to install new outdoor security lights. Gave us a reasonable estimate and set up a date. It was pouring rain on that day, and I was sure they'd reschedule. No, they came and did the job exactly as they said they would. Highly recommend.
Wesley and his team completed wiring work for the washer and replaced the exhaust fan in the bathroom. It was very professional. Wesley took a look and sent me an estimate. He could fit in the appointment just in time before the washer delivery. I would recommend them to other friends.
I contacted Alley Electric in December to have wall fishing done on my cable from the 3rd to the 2nd floor of my condo. Alley Electric, Wesley and Alina came out to do the job. I showed them some solid outlets behind my dresser. Alina was able to reach her arm in and pull out cable lines. The 2nd floor already had cable. They put a splitter and ran a line to my desk. I now have phone and Internet at my desk. It is working beautifully. They did not charge me the full price of the job.
If I have electrical needs in the future, I will not hesitate to call Alley Electric!
In the past when i needed electrical work done , i would just pull out phonebook and search for the closet electrician to my home , i would pay what they charged and not question it until i found Alley electric
there pricing was fantastic, i was being ripped off by those other companies.Wes came out and did a fantastic job and was very personable. He was prompt and took care of everything we needed to have done in a timely manner , i own my own business and for now on Alley electic will be my first and only call
I recently had Wesley and Alina out to repair a failed electrical branch circuit. Wesley quickly identified the issue as a failed quick-connect splice in a switch gang box and fixed it with a wire nut.
They were quick, clean, professional and overall a pleasure to work with.

Requested service to change out an unnecessarily loud bathroom ceiling fan with inconsistent electrics. Initially scheduled for a Thursday, but got a call to reschedule due to a double-booking. They were nice enough to reschedule on the weekend, even though it was not one of their regular working days. The team showed up on time, performed the work completely and explained how the previous contractor had not finished their installation properly - potentially causing damage to the house structure. Solid service.
We asked Alley Electric to help us diagnose and repair a disconnected wire in the attic, and also to replace some halogens with LEDs. They were friendly, responsive, and dedicated. They fit our small jobs in between larger jobs that they had, and fought traffic in rush hour to get to our place to install the lights. They also patiently answered our questions, and had very competitive pricing. I will definitely call them again if I ever have an electrical need.
I had alley electric do several upgrades in a house I just bought:
1. Install new interior lighting
2. install new exterior/security lighting
3. upgrade non GFI outlets to meet code
4. Deactivate an obsolete/unsafe circuit
5. Troubleshoot and chase several 'do nothing' switches
and a few other minor things.
Wes (who is the owner) came and gave a quote, and scheduled the job. He talked through options on how we wanted everything done so there wouldnt be surprises.
He showed up on time for both the quote and the job. Wes did the job himself, with an assistant. I added a few more items to the list at the last minute, and he handled them at fair prices.
Wes is very professional and does high quality work. Prices are fair (not cheap, but fair). Everything was done to my satisfaction, and he did a good job cleaning up after cutting into sheetrock, etc to install lighting fixtures.
Quality job done right the first time. I have no reservations recommending Wes/Alley electric.
Wes and his team did a great job upgrading my outlets and light switches, installing new outlets, and installing a new circuit board. They even arranged for the City of Fremont permit and and inspection. And they cleaned up their mess! Highly recommended for ease of communication, professional-grade work, attention to detail, responsiveness....
As a Fremont native of 57 yrs raised in Niles, I have seen the great advancements and changes my City of Fremont has gone through. It is totally refreshing to know that after so many years I have an honest, proficient, reliable, family owned Dales Hardware Store that is committed to stocking only quality materials! That being said, we hired Alley Electric: Owners Wesley & Alina Sedain to install 5 GFCI'S, a electrical fan rated ceiling support box, and a 24 space subpanel in our condo. Our experience was EXCELLENT! Alley Electric is a Family Owned Company that supports the same defining characteristics that I love about Dales Hardware! Wesley, Alina, and Chris are committed to be honest, proficient, and reliable to complete the job on time with quality work!!! I now have Alley Electric on my Iphone 6s plus contacts for future work, or to refer them to family & friends! A TRUSTFUL contractor is a KEEPER!
We brought in Alley Electric for installation of recessed lighting for our living room.
I first called and Alina was the person whom I interacted with first. The same day I called, she was able to have Wesley come and give me an estimate. After that, we interacted via email in terms of bids, etc. They were very prompt in responding to our emails, so the process just seemed very smooth overall.
On the day of the service, Wesley & Alina came with the team. They properly draped the area for us. As we have no attic above our living room, Wesley informed me that the sheetrock would be damaged. At first, I was afraid that there would be a big hole. However, his team really made minimal intrusion to the wall that I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, it took them about 2.5 hours to finish the entire job. After they were done, the place was also properly cleaned up, and I didn't have to do a thing. I will definitely recommend them.
I just completed a kitchen and family room remodel and hired Alley Electric to perform all the electrical work. They replaced an outdated overhead kitchen light box with nice modern LED recessed lights, added recessed LEDs in the family room, and replaced about 14 or so existing incandescent recessed lights to LEDs throughout the rest of my house. One area required an extension ladder since the ceiling is 20+ ft high. Most of the LEDs are now controlled by dimmer switches which they installed. They also added more kitchen counter GFCI outlets (per electrical code) and USB outlet. They also installed undercabinet lighting. Previous owners had those cheezy plug-in units under their cabinets, but since I gutted the entire kitchen, I had them run the wires behind the walls and install a new wall switch to control them. Lastly, I had them install an outdoor photocell flood to light my patio deck. Alley Electric did an OUTSTANDING job! They provided a comprehensive estimate with competitive pricing, were responsive to any questions that I had before and during the scheduled work dates. Wesley, Alina, and their crew were fantastic to work with ... knowledgeable, courteous, thorough, showed up on time, cleaned up and finished my electrical project to my utmost satisfaction. If you want quality electrical work, I highly recommend Alley Electric. You will not be disappointed! I look forward to doing business with them again for any future electrical work.
Excellent communication, work ethic and quality. I had an EVSE installed in my garage by Alley Electric. Wesley gave me accurate advice after seeing pictures from my panel and garage and gave a reasonable quote even without visiting. We scheduled work for Friday and he came on time with Daniel. They were very patient with my questions and took time to make sure the location of the EVSE was per our liking. Once we decided where to put the EVSE, they got busy. Installed a new 40A CB in my panel, drew a new wire to the garage & installed the EVSE. Wesley even put in an extra outlet for me rather than hard wiring the system. And all of this was done within the original quote he gave me, which was very competitive. Overall a very pleasant experience and I will do business with them again without any second thoughts.

I found this company on Yelp.
Several outlets in my kitchen have been on and off for weeks. Wesley came by today on time, very polite and found two issues and fixed them fairly quickly. The charge is exactly what he told me on the phone when I made the appointment.
Wesley is friendly, competent and easy to work with. He was able to squeeze me in earlier than originally scheduled and worked late to get the job done. I was most impressed with his integrity. I was prepared to pay the full estimated cost, but evidently it took less time than he had anticipated so the finished cost was $200 less than the $830 estimate. I wouldn't have known the difference; he didn't have to take off that amount. I appreciate that type of old fashioned honesty.

Wesley and Alina showed up on time, diagnosed the issue and were very fair in their pricing. They are terrific to work with, I'd hire again in an instant!
I asked Alley to do a safety inspection of my early 60's home and then followed up with a number of updates. The costs seemed reasonable, the work was done efficiently with tidy cleanup, and they were very easy to communicate with by email or phone for changes to plans (e.g. when I wanted to add a task, or we needed to reschedule). Very happy and would definitely hire them again (in fact, already did, when I decided to get one additional change made).
Alley Electric were amazing!!! We called several electric companies. We never even received a call back from any of them. The ones we did receive a call back from gave us vague quotes and didn't even offer to come out to take a look at what we needed. Not Alley Electric. They were professional, on time, gave us all the information needed and quote. They made things so easy for us on our upgrade of our electrical panel. They were thorough, answered all my questions, made things as easy on us as possible. Even the inspections ran smoothly with Alley Electrics by our side with the city. We think the bad reviews had a lot to do with the customers expecting them to do something they weren't supposed to do. We thought the contract was clear and concise. If we had questions, they answered us via email or phone quickly. We will recommend them to all of our friends. It's nice to have a company we can trust. Thanks Alley Electrics!!!!
Bottom line: unprofessional response to errors made on the job smacks of taking his good reviews and customers for granted; especially in this down economy. Also, they may be better for more 'behind-the-scenes' electrical work vs finish work like recessed lighting.
It almost feels strange to write this review in the face of such stellar marks for this company, but I feel that my experience may not be an aberration and that others should know that Alley Electric, while probably overall a good company, should be approached with some vigilance and caution.
Wesley came out and gave us a bid. He was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and submitted a reasonably priced bid. The main part of our project was recessed lighting for our living room. The written proposal called for six 5 canisters and I subsequently e-mailed Wesley with a URL of a particular trim I wanted. He replied back I'll find you something nice -- this failure on my part to insist on details turned out to be part of the problem. Expecting that he had taken the week or so interim time to pre-order the requisite supplies, he and Alina showed up on the morning of the job with what seemed like lights purchased from the local hardware superstore. And, of course, not with the trim I had requested. This was apparent later in the morning after Wesley belatedly realized that he had purchased 6 (larger) cans instead. By then, he had already made several 3 linear cuts and one 6 hole in my pristine white ceiling. They then went to the nearby Home Depot from which they called and said that 5 cans weren't available and suggested 4 cans instead. I approved the change but requested 2 additional cans to make up for the smaller beam coverage. As an aside, I subsequently found the 5 cans in stock at my nearby Home Depot.
Long story short, the job turned out below expectations. Wesley installed the now eight 4 cans, but two of them were off by three inches and the light coverage was uneven (shadow alleys) due to the smaller beams. Also, I now had several areas of the ceiling that I needed to repair, including a large chunk of the wayward 6 hole. (During the bid process I was assured that the ceiling holes would be just right and wouldn't need any patching.) Otherwise, Alina and Wesley did a fine job on the other parts of the project. Alina was very courteous in making sure everything was clean and tidy all along the way. But even given the significant errors, Wesley never apologized for the mistakes or offered to make me whole, as one might expect from a professional. In fact, when pointed out the erroneous cuts on my ceiling, he sharply reminded me about the no drywall patching part of his contract and sarcastically offered to smear some spackle on these minor defects when pressed further. I was absolutely flabbergasted by this lack of professionalism. I had offered what I thought was an extremely fair settlement of just paying the initial bid amount (i.e. not footing the bill for the extra two 4 cans that were made necessary by their error). The nonchalant and defensive attitude was astounding. I received neither an offer to help compensate me for the extra drywall repair I had to now do, much less a genuine apology. It wasn't until Alina stepped into the dispute that Wesley grudgingly took my payment. I was especially offended that an insinuation was made that I was trying to rip him off. I would much rather have perfectly installed recessed lights as was outlined to me in the proposal, then to argue over a couple hundred bucks of somebody's hard earned money and deal with the subsequent extra repair work in this case.
In summary, I will obviously not use this contractor again. I'm not sure if Wesley just had a bad day or he is taking his good reviews and customers for granted, but his behavior was clearly unacceptable. Despite e-mailing him after the fact, I have not received any response. Alley Electric may still be a worthwhile contractor to consider for your project, given their previous positive track record, but do yourself a favor and make sure to double-check everything so that you don't have the same results we unfortunately did. P.S. I do have pictures of various stages of this work to post if it would be helpful to anybody.

The bottom line: They were polite, prompt, reasonably priced and gave us a same-day (same evening!) appointment. They were also very friendly.
If you want more details: We seemed to have a blown fuse that, unfortunately, powered most of the appliances in our kitchen. I called around 5:30pm and asked if they could give us an appointment for the next day; Alina, the co-owner (they are a husband and wife team) said she was sorry, but they were booked for the next several days. However, she then asked what the problem was, and when I said I was pretty sure it was just a blown fuse, she said she'd call back between 7:00 and 7:30 to see if they could come out that night. She did call, a little after 7:00, and they came right at 7:45 as promised and did not charge extra for the late hour. Since the problem turned out to be embarrassingly easy to fix--at least embarrassing to me and my husband--they even offered us a 20% discount, which we greatly appreciated. While I don't think any electricians are cheap, I'd definitely say their price is fair, especially considering that they did not charge more for an evening appointment. I will certainly use them again if needed.
I had an issue with the GFI outlets in all the bathrooms. Alley gave me a good flat rate for the service call, which means one flat price no matter how long it takes, just until it gets fixed. That's excellent. They are friendly and professional. I called a few other electricians an one of them seemed so lazy he wasn't even sure he could come out and said he'd get back to me, and others charged high rates per hour with no estimate of how long it would take. So Alley Electric is my electrician from on.

They installed 4 fans throughout the house and can lighting in a bedroom. From the phone call experience to the actual work it was fabulous. Called on Monday the 1st and requested their earliest appointment. They said they could come out on the 4th and we took it. The heat wave was taking a toll on us. They said they would be here at 8:30. I have a 6 month old and put him down for a nap (in one of the rooms getting a fan) at 8am and figured like all contractors they would be late. For the first in my life a contractor was on time. They were super respectful of him sleeping and prepped everything in all other rooms first. They were quick, clean and delightful. And, of course we love their work. Highly recommend them!
These guys deserve their five stars! I found them to be responsible, fairly priced and easy to work with. The quality of the work was excellent. What more could you ask? I will definitely use them again.
They came on time, finished the work, and cleaned up after. We asked Wesley of Alley Electric to install new fans for our bathrooms and run 2 circuits for it. We are very happy with the work they have done for us. Thank you.
I was very happy with how Alley Electric went about and completed a small but somehow complex project at my house. Wesley and Alina were timely, professional, and accommodating, and delivered quality work. They are now my electricians of choice.
Could not have been better. They were incredibly reasonable compared to other organizations which gave me quotes, and they were very respectful, responsive, and did an outstanding job. Highly recomend them.
We've used Alley Electric numerous times for electrical upgrades for our mobile home - as have many of our friends here in Spanish Ranch 2 in Hayward. Wes & Alina have always offered knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and fairly priced service. We highly recommend them.
I had an electrical emergency at by condo unit, and after spending 2 hours working with PG&E and the on-site maintenance crew, I found out that the problem was inside the unit and that I needed an electrician. I called Alley Electric, and Wes & his wife were VERY, VERY HELPFUL. Within an hour of my phone call, Wes was at my unit checking out the problem. He quickly assessed it, worked with a member of the maintenance crew over the phone (because it was after normal business hours), and had my home up and running again with full power. Wes was very professional and cordial. I would use their services again and will be recommending them to others.

Very helpful and flexible - no problem adding another item to the list of things to be done. Completed the work on time and was clear about the costs and any changes.
Wes from Alley and his wife helped us out with an electrical emergency. They have since been over to bid some more work. They are professional, skilled and their pricing is honest. I would use them again and recommend them.
Wesley and his partner Alina hooked up my front yard lights to the porch switch. They came when they said they would, worked hard, got the job done, and were pleasant to have around. Wesley was under the house for a long time trying to get the wire up the wall to the switch. Alina was working from the inside, trying to guide him. There was a wood block below the switch box that prevented him from getting to the switch easily, and he ended up cutting a hole in the wall. But he had warned me when he originally quoted the job that he might have to do that, so instead of being annoyed about it, I was impressed with how long he stayed under the house trying to avoid making a hole in my wall. I would have been cursing and complaining if I were him. He covered the hole with net and spackle. I'll sand it and paint it. I'll be glad to call them again when I need an electrician.
We recently built a new custom home. Our builder lost his regular electrician and he found Alley Electronic for us. For such large project, I am always wondering what if something goes wrong, do we need to open up the wall to fix it? Even our builder recommended us to take lots of pictures before the walls were covered up. I will not be too surprised if mistake happens, nobody is perfect.
Westly and his wife are a truly professional team who did a great job. I did raise my concern with them and they reassured me that they will run tests along the way. They even tested the bathroom fans that I bought to make sure they would be still good to go before running out of warranty (construction got delayed all the time). After moving in the house for a few months now, no major mistakes found, never need to open up the wall to fix stuffs. There were only minor things need to be fixed - they would come to fix even after full payments were made. They even changed some kitchen wiring for us because we didn't think through our need before. It wasn't big deal. I thought if I needed to pay a fortune, I don't have to change it and I will just live with it. But they changed it for us as a favor.
Overall, I highly recommend them for your electrician need.
I called Alley Electric based on the great reviews on Yelp. They did not disappoint! Wes and Alina were wonderful people to work with. I called them on Tuesday and although their schedule was packed, they squeezed me in for a 6-6:30pm appointment the next day. Wes diagnosed my electrical problem over the phone and quoted me a surprisingly good price. When they came to do the work, they answered all my questions thoroughly and were very professional and friendly - downright likeable! The job was done in about 40 minutes without any problems. I wish all my experiences with contractors were this positive, I can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks, Alley Electric! And thanks to Yelp for helping me find them. This is my first post on Yelp - Wes and Alina's great service and work ethic inspired me to sign up and post a review.
This company is great! After receiving multiple bids from other electricians, I found Alley to be most reasonable. They did exactly what I asked them to do and didn't try to up-sell the project. Very good work! I highly recommend Alley Electric

Wesley did a 200 amp service upgrade at my home, removed the old and dangerous Federal Pacific panel and installed a new panel. He was prompt, professional and very reasonably priced. He makes sure that the final product is right and safe. Would not hesitate to hire him again for other projects around here.
Wesley, Alina and Omar are a class act. Unfailingly polite, professional and willing to accommodate my hectic schedule. They did a thorough job upgrading electrical outlets and working on a panel in an old home with its unique challenges. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who wants a fair, honest and experienced electrician.
I called because i didn't have any electricity in certain sockets/outlets and the helped me troubleshoot the issue over the phone. I just had to reset the breaker and the lady helped find it too. It was hidden behind a shelf in my house! So didn't even need to have someone come over. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
I also used Alley Electric and same rating as previous review. He is very knowledgeable and with reasonable prices. He had to buy some parts to fix my 1970 flourescent lights, but he did it all in a few hours. Now I am good for another 30 years! Wahoo!! Thank you Wesley. Dona
