I have found my plumber and I will never go back! I have tried many plumbers in Santa Cruz and never have I experienced such professional, kind, hard working, honest and skilled plumbers before. Their quote was plenty fair and the price even dropped as they did the work and discovered ways to make the job cheaper. They installed a new line from the meter to the first shut off, a big job, and they did it seamlessly. When they called me out to take a look the job was super clean, as if there had never been a leak. They even patched the concrete and raked the landscape so that it looked nice and tidy when they left. Our last plumbers left a mess in our kitchen that we had to clean up so this was a pleasant surprise. I give Garcia Plumbing my highest recommendation.

I had a very positive experience with Vince from VIP plumbing. Vince was very professional-- he was transparent from the beginning and made communication between us clear and easy. For instance, he called to keep me updated on his ETA, which might seem small but really helps when trying to manage my schedule. Once he arrived and inspected the water heater he explained what had happened and possible causes for the issue. His explanations were clear and detailed, yet simple. This makes it easier for me when dealing with my water heater. He fixed the issue and once again explained it to make things clear. He even ordered a spare part in case anything were to happen in the future.

TL;DR: Vince was transparent, professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend him.

How can I NOT write a 5 star!! I called with toilet problems...wouldn't flush, no tank water, etc. I have zero plumbing skills, etc. I called, she asked a few questions, suggested I do a few things while she waited on the phone with me...my toilet is fixed!  How often does that happen?  NOT! So they deserve 5 plus stars.

Mike was awesome! He was quick and efficient. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

It was a helpful to get a message before Mike was coming and I could even track where he was! The photo of him helped to know who was going to show up at our house.

I have used them for years. They are always looking out for their customers.  Last week, my garage disposal stopped working - they solved my problem over the phone! Saving me the expense and hassle of a service call.  Great guys!

My laundry machine had been backing up dirty water into the kitchen sink on the drain cycle for a while, and it got worse and worse until the sink practically overflowed. Mike was very quick to call back after I left a voicemail, and was able to come by within 20 minutes. He's local, shows skill and experience, and knows Eichlers. I'm a POC and a woman alone at home at the time, and Mike was courteous and answered all my questions, so I don't know what other Yelpers are saying about a bad attitude towards us. He was able to fix the issue, and even let me know of possible problems to be aware of and tips on up preventing pipe damage in the future. Overall I'm very happy with the results and the expertise Mike had shown.

I have used J B Rooter a few times now. Jerry is very responsive and provides a reasonable estimate of the amount of work to be done and goes out of the way to get it done well and on time. He is smart to diagnose the problem well and takes the time to explain it to us clearly.

After every interaction with JB, I have come away feeling good about the diagnosis and 100% satisfied with the work.

Have used Chico at Prestige plumbing a few times and he is a hard working guy and knows plumbing.  Not afraid to crawl under the house to inspect and work. (eeek).  He fixed the laundry drain and snaked the kitchen laundry from the roof.  (clean out is sealed shut and nothing could open it).  I had a leak in the gasket of a toilet (Pacific had just replaced it two years before) and it was leaking a while.  The subfloor and wood were rotted.  Chico gave me two crews who do that work.  The guys I chose were amazing and did a wonderful job at a good price.  I also used Prestige to unclog the shower, Had to resort to the hose and hydro Flush.  Lot of work but it fixed it.  Now I have clog in the bathrooms/ toilet.  Old houses-uggg.  Prestige will be here tomorrow afternoon to resolve that.  I Recommend Chico and Prestige.

I found that my water heater was leaking at 9pm the Thursday before a long holiday weekend. I called at 9:38 and was amazed when I got Jason on the phone instead of a machine. He offered to be here the next day at 10am and arrived promptly at 9:58. My 22 year old heater was swapped out and I was back in business.

Jason was prompt, knowledgeable and fun to chat with. Ask him about Japanese toilets . He's my top pick for any future needs!

Had a great experience having my water softener and RO system installed by these guys. They helped me decide on some options over email and came right on time for the job. We had a rough time making the connection, I think, because Jim does great work and is an honest man, and people who are both of those things are very much in demand, but once we got him in, he was quiet, clean, methodical, and very respectful. I will look forward to hiring him for future jobs. I'm thrilled with him, no joke, and he's a Real San Lorenzo Valley Character, which I consider to be a massive bonus.  Thrilled with his rate, his guarantee, and how pleasant he is to have around.

I'm writing this because of how honest Mike is. We had a couple of people out to do an estimate for our re-pipe and one was in our budget. I called Mike to let him know that we wouldn't need him to come out for his estimate (didn't want to waste his time) and when I told him what the other company quoted he let me know that:
1. It was a really good price
2. He'd probably be right around there, but to go with the other company if we already had something going with them.
I will call Mike in the future for other plumbing needs solely because of his honesty on that phone call. He also seems like a really nice guy :)

We had a plumbing emergency with a leaky shower that, after attempting to repair, ended up being a drippy hole in the wall.  We didn't call The Plumbing Company until Monday and they were the first ones to be able to come right out, in less than an hour. We could have called them Sunday as their prices are fixed so no double- or triple-time for weekend calls, now we know. Anyway, we got Phil to help us and he was awesome. Very knowledgeable and did great work. He was able to fix another small nagging item in the same shower and also gave us bids for future work we'll need. You could probably find cheaper service, but for us, the piece of mind that they know what they are doing and the prompt and courteous service is worth a few extra bucks. He even called us the next day to check in and provide some additional info. We'll absolutely use them again for our plumbing needs.

We had to get hammock chair fixed indoors on my ceiling for my kid. I reached out to Nikolai, he was very responsive. Showed up and was able to get the job done on time and professionally. I'm planning to call him back for some other work at home as well.

TL;DR summary :

I have spent more than $5,000 with Pacific Coast to replace my outdoor A/C unit and coil over last couple of years.  Recently, I called them again to check out a problem I was having with the new A/C unit.  After looking into the problem, the technician diagnosed it to be a broken capacitor that needed to be replaced (unrelated to the new A/C unit).

The problem is that they decided to charge me close to $350 for the replacement capacitor (see screenshot of invoice) on top of the $560 charge for the labor costs. I don't mind playing $560 for labor but $350 is extremely excessive for a new capacitor.

As it was getting late, I didn't want to make an issue of it with the technician as he had been working hard at it but he assured that they were charging a reasonable market rate for it.  So I settled the amount. But after the technician left, I decided to look up how the capacitor costs and it's a $10 part!!

So I called back the next day asking to speak to someone about this over-charging.  A reasonable markup is to be expected but how can anyone justify charging $350 for a $10 part?  

Over-charging was the just first step.  This was compounded by the fact that no one in position of authority to address my concern would call me back. This service was done in late August 2021 and the only reason why I'm writing this in January 2022 is that I've given this company ample time to address this issue.

I called repeatedly and after repeated assurances that someone would call me back, no one did.  And what's worse is that every single manager that I was passed on to would ultimately leave the company. I finally was put through to the GM (Jim) who seemed genuinely interested in addressing my complaint. He promised to refund me part of the cost and I was OK with that.

Well another two months passed and no refund materialized. I called back yet again and what do you know, that GM has also left the company.
