Ted and his crew were really great to work with. Ted is quite responsive over email and very helpful to explain the details of what was needed in order to complete the EV charger installation.

His crew is friendly, efficient and neat. The whole thing was completed in a surprisingly few number of hours, which is helpful when the power is out.

This is the second time I have used Apollo Electric and once again I was very impressed with Ted and his work.  
He was able to make an appointment for me within a few days of my call, he showed up a few minutes early and completed the job in less time than he estimated.  He explained how the new fixtures worked and could be adjusted and made sure I was satisfied with everything before he left.

Ted quickly responded my call. Scheduled the same day installation. Ted's crew came on time, inspected the house and garage, installed my Tesla charger fast with good quality. I have many questions about the installation process and the guy explained them with great patience and knowledge. In the end the guy also did a good cleanup before leaving. My living room lights stopped working, and despite his being totally slammed, Ted responded promptly to my queries and sent a crew out a couple of times in between other jobs to diagnose and fix the problem (dead transformer). Ted has done two jobs for me now - one planned Tesla charger installation, and another unplanned issue with my electrical panel. In both instances, Ted went above and beyond in his work. We had issues getting a permit due to an expired (and unrelated) permit on the house. Ted helped to get all the paperwork from the city to provide to me so that I could figure out which permit it was in order to get it resolved. He also did a quick and very clean installation of the Tesla charger and 2 years later, everything is working smoothly.

Recently, Ted managed to find time in his busy schedule right before the holidays to come out and help with an electrical panel problem resulting in no power to some kitchen outlets. Ted quickly found the problem, and worked his very busy schedule to come help me the next day. While he was there, he also kindly helped install a transformer for my ring doorbell.

I would highly recommend Ted for any electrical work and am very thankful to have found a great and trustworthy electrician!

I wanted to get 240V electric circuits for an ev charger and other european appliances.
Ted came out and scope the work while I dealt with him remotely from overseas.
Charged me 120 bucks for an estimate and coming out that was significantly higher than other contractors and the one I chose to do the work.
In todays world to be charged for an estimate seems out of line.
While Apollo appears to do good work from other reviews the policy of charging customers for estimates needs to change

Ted's techs Luis and Jordan came my home and installed Tesla Wall Connector this morning. It is an amazing job!! The job took 3.5 hrs (started 9AM and finished 12:30). For my case, they have to wrap surface mount conduit all the way from my deep backyard and then across the front to get to the charging location. It requires a pretty long and winding conduit. But Luis and Jordan laid it out beautiful and efficiency. I am impressed by their and job. Will definitely hire them again. BTW, Ted replied emails in a timely manner, easy to communicate!

Ted & his crew saved us from an unsafe electrical situation left by a solar company. They installed a new mast, new main panels, new subpanels, afci breakers, and fixed some illegal circuits left by the solar guys. They were on the job for about 7 days, so I really got to know them. They are professional, honest, and do excellent work. I actually crawled and went up in the attic to double check everything myself and found no issues. The city inspector gave Ted a very hard time, but Ted kept his cool and we passed all inspections the first time.

I have worked with Apollo TB Electric back in September 2017 w.r.t the EV charger installation for my electric BOLT along with San Jose City inspector permit process etc. This time Ted + crew has done an electrical work for our Hills Dental Group San Jose (Practice of Dr. Rachana Vyas, DDS) in regards to installation of New 20 amp / 208V dedicated circuit along with installation of brand new Quad-breaker followed by configuration of 2 - NEMA 6-20 receptacles which got serviced by the
2 - 20 amp / 240V circuits. This help us to now move on from single vacuum pump (for suction unit) and upgraded to Dual Head Vaccum unit to support all the 4 Dental Chair Operatories with adequate vacuum PSI in each of the chair unit!!!  Ted also helped to installed the 3 - 18/3 low voltage wires from equipment area to interior panel board switches to control the vacuum, water and compressor accessories. There's absolutely Ted is super-duper Eco-friendly, Technically Knowledgeable, A good thinker, listener and problem solving attitude type personality. Ted is very disciplined with his timeline, professional business work ethics, punctuality, communication etc. You name it, Ted has everything one could ask for more!! Plus, his quality of job is simply outstanding, fantastic and impeccable with no mess left out after complete wrap up. He will send a quote after you send pictures of your circuit breaker and electrical panel.

For those looking to install EV Chargers, the charge point home flex was recommended due to its quality. You have a couple options to choose from: hardwired or new electrical outlet with the charger being plugged in. There are pros and cons to both but we ended up going with the hardwire option.

The BEST ELECTRICIAN EVER!!!

We had an electrical fire in our house last night in our dining area. The FD came out and made sure everything was safe. I emailed Ted at 12:30am and he responded so quickly. I called him around 9am this morning and he was at our house by 10:30am. Found out later that he worked us in while doing another job, talk about AMAZING service! We also needed someone to repair drywall for us and I happen to ask Ted to see if he knew anyone and he was able to work another miracle for us and his amazing guy Lee from Specialty Textures (which I will also be doing a review for) was able to come out today and patch up everything! It looks as if nothing ever happened. I can't thank Ted enough for coming out to us as quickly as he did. Everyone else told me they were too busy until January 2018. Now we are able to have our Christmas party with our family tomorrow as scheduled all because of Ted.

I contacted Apollo about installing an outlet to charge my car - they showed up right on time, we're super friendly, explained a bit about how my house electrical system worked and installed the outlet in 15 minutes. I'll definitely have them out again for electrical work.

Ok, so I didn't hire Apollo Electric for what ended up being a minor electric problem with some outlets. I reached out for an estimate and Ted (the owner) suggested something to do before him and/or his team come out. That suggestion ended up working. That alone is worth this 5 star review and I won't hesitate to contact Apollo right away for when *knock on wood* other Electrical problems come up.

After buying our house, we contracted Ted to perform various upgrades to the electrical system including a panel replacement, 200A service upgrade, selective outlet grounding, and installation of new circuits for a treadmill and EV charger.

The project became larger when, after we had had some drywall opened to install a gas line to the stove, Ted noticed some dangerously out-of-code (and clearly unpermitted) electrical work that had been done during a kitchen remodel by the previous owners. This was in such bad shape that Ted inadvertently demonstrated its severity when he caused an arc flash by merely tapping a wire with a pencil when pointing out the problem area to us.

So we had Ted re-wire the kitchen to code as well, which he did, installing separate circuits for major appliances, and generally leaving us much more at ease that our kitchen was no longer an electrical fire hazard. On account of the unanticipated scope growth of the project, when Ted encountered smaller safety issues elsewhere during the course of the project, he fixed them for free or at a deep discount from what the normal price would have been.

Ted handled coordination with PG&E and pulling permits with the city. All of his work passed inspection on the first attempt. He was able to adjust his schedule to ensure that his work did not interfere with other work being done simultaneously (e.g. to the HVAC system and flooring).

During the entire project, he was extremely responsive by both phone and e-mail, and was willing and able to discuss our requirements at length and to clearly explain our options and their tradeoffs (e.g. for using GFCI breakers and a surge arrestor in the panel).

Overall, of all the work we have had done on our new house, Ted was by far the most pleasant contractor to work with, and I would recommend him to anyone.

Ted and his crew did some emergency electrical work at our residence a few weeks ago and came back for some exterior camera and electrical plug work at my house.   Ted showed up right on time and worked until completed.  I purchased the cameras and Ted had everything he need to run exterior power.  Fro the visit a few weeks earlier, I had a plug go out behind our refrigerator.  Ted came over within a few hours and once he determined that it wasn't a circuit breaker or the plug itself, he traced the wiring and junctions in the wall (no small feat) and found the where a wire had come loose in a box.  Always friendly and fully ready to explain everything he was doing.  I highly recommend Apollo Electric for any electrical residential project.

Apollo Electric (Ted Bakelis) installed a NEMA 14-50 Electric Vehicle charging circuit in my garage. Very reasonable price, on time and extremely pleasant business to work with! Neat and tidy job done as well.

I hired Ted at Apollo ran new electrical service  fr my house to my detached garage,/man cave. He wired the entire structure including, coax, cat 5, installed all outlets, in ceiling speakers, flat panel tv, inside/outside fixtures, electrical panel network panel and more. He also arranged for a team to dig a trench to code from house to garage to lay all cables underground on short notice.

Ted is completely trustworthy and a great guy. His bid was corruptive and there were no surprises.

Ted and his crew were prompt, professional and got the job done in the time estimated.  They understand how to deal with permitting, inspections and scheduling each step in the process.  Specifically, Ted is very familiar with local nuances in each city, related to inspections.  My house, being an older structure with older wiring and an oddly placed riser pole, was not a straight forward project, but it was no problem for the crew.  They completed the work as planned, kept a clean job site and were very courteous throughout the project.  I was very pleased with the work done by the Apollo and would hire them again and highly recommend them to others.

Had issue with my outlets not working, and was looking for electricians. Ted installed recessed lighting in our previous home and did a fantastic job.  He knew exactly where to install the cans so that the wiring would run in such a way that it minimized opening up of our drywall.  He even did a great job patching up the drywall afterward!  We were very happy with his work.

Ted did an excellent job installing a long 60A/240V line (6 gauge) from the house panel to our detached garage with a 60A disconnect ending in a Tesla Wall Connector. Communication through email worked perfectly, he was always on time, was thorough, worked efficiently, left the area clean, lined up the inspection, and charged a reasonable fee compared to two other bids. I give my highest recommendation.

After buying a house, I wanted to upgrade my 100A service to 200A and replace my 1950's era Zinsco Firestarter panel, and install a grounding rod while there.

Ted's estimate was the best, and I'm really glad I chose him.  It's a relatively straightforward job, but I was very pleased with the results.  He was very easy to get along with and answered all my questions.  As a life-long renter until that point, I had a lot of questions.

He took care of all the city permits and dealt with the inspector when he came by.

I may look into some wiring upgrades in the future and when I do, I'll be looking Ted up.

Ted from Apollo Electric installed a new circuit and NEMA 14-50 outlet for Tesla charging at my prior home as well as my new home.  He also installed a new electrical panel to replace one that was probably 50 years old.  I also had him provide a quote for recessed lighting which we ended up not doing because we ended up moving.  In every case, Ted was responsive, personable, and overall pleasant to work with.  In providing his quotes and estimates he didn't upsell anything and on the contrary advised against some things I asked about but didn't really need.  To top it off, he provided the lowest estimates among the formal bids I received.  I do plan on calling Ted for any future electrical needs.

Very satisfied with the service provided. He set up my garage wiring very quickly and also checked out my old fuse box and replaced some ugly wiring. I highly recommend their service.

Ted did a 200A panel upgrade, as well as a hot tub hookup and some other work at our house. We're very happy with the work he did. I appreciated his attention to detail and the effort he took to make things look nice. For example, taking a trickier path to route a conduit, and relocating a box inside a wall to get a clean finish. Also, he did a great job with the method and prep on the panel upgrade so that I was only a few hours without power, when other electricians had said it could be more than a day. His rate was higher than others, but it's worth it for the quality job.

We have to say Apollo was an excellent choice for us . . Chris at Apollo Electric called me back after making the call in less than 5 mins. . We told him our problem that our power has slowly been fading out and flickers lights and the TV power turning on and off by itself ...not good.  He came out within the hour and told us what needed to be done.
