Company is excellent.   They responded quickly and fixed the water valve behind the refrigerator for the ice maker before our new renter moved into the house.  I highly recommend their professionalism and thoroughness.

Gilbert is on time or early. An early plumber? Jesus may return any moment.

He did exactly what he said he would do, and cleaned up after himself. I am not lying.

The work was done to code and had no problems afterwards. He also alerted me to a problem (that another plumber missed last year), and saved me a future headache. Great job. (Ask him to tell you his story - pretty amazing dude.)

Was looking for a rough estimate for a basic toilet swap installation but the response is for a $79 estimate. I am afraid to see what the actual installation price is now. $$$$$

Abel To Plumb Plumbing Service
Abel installed a tankless water heater for me and repaired a leak.

He did an excellent job. The whole time, he came off as an honest person trying to go good, helpful work. He's in a class of few contractors.

The leak he repaired was something that started unexpectedly and when I text him, he dropped what he was doing and said he was on the way.

Thanks Abel!

Republic Pipeworks Plumbing Service
Another plumber told me that I needed to replace my water heater.  One of the thermostats and elements had gone bad.  Jim was able to replace the parts without costing me the expense of getting a new water heater.  I was so happy not to have to pay thousands of dollars.  Jim is truly a nice person and knows a lot about plumbing.  He's very easy to talk with and takes the time to diagnose the problem and make sure everything is in good shape.  At every step he explained what he was doing and why it was necessary.  You won't go wrong if you call Jim.

Stan's Heating, Air & Plumbing Plumbing Service
1 star
My experience with Stan's was awful. I would not recommend anybody call them for service. The technician that came to work on my heating spent the entire time he was here on the phone on numerous phone calls from other Stan's technicians who sounded like they had no idea what they were doing. He was completely distracted and interrupted our own conversations about my service call by answering other phone calls. I have 2 units. One upstairs and one downstairs. The technician was so distracted, he was diagnosing the upstairs system by looking at the outside unit for the DOWNSTAIRS system. SO what makes me think he has given me an accurate diagnosis of the problem with my system? I just got a call from a person named Matt with the quote for the repair of $410.00 dollars to replace a defrost board. When I asked for a breakdown of those charges, he refused to give me a breakdown. That's ridiculous. He asked if I wanted to schedule the service, I explained that I have had nothing but bad service from Stan's and he hung up on me. I will not ever call this company again. My mistake for not doing my homework - the only criteria I used for selecting Stan's was that they are local here in my Central Austin neighborhood. I stopped payment on the check I wrote them for wasting my time. ***** I am updating this review a few hours after the original review since I called another company to come and do the repair work.  *****    It only gets worse. Since Matt hung up on me, I was forced to call someone else to come complete the repair work. A friend referred me to Total Comfort. Their technician noticed right away that the thermostat upstairs was not compatible with a heat pump system. He replaced the thermostat and the system works perfect now. THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE DEFROST CIRCUIT BOARD! The Stan's technician missed the thermostat problem and incorrectly diagnosed the defrost circuit board problem. They were going to charge me $410 to replace a perfectly good part. Also, when I initially placed the repair call, I indicated that the downstairs unit was only heating intermittently. The technician completely failed to check/test/recommend repair of the unit. I think he was too busy coaching inexperienced technicians that were calling him every 2 minutes. When I asked the Stan's technician, Leron, what he had done to fix my downstairs unit, he hadn't even noticed that it was on the repair ticket. I explained that I had had a few Capacitors blow on that unit before. I don't think he listened to me because he was too distracted with phone calls. Total Comfort quickly tested the capacitor, found it was failed, replaced it and - like magic, it is working perfectly. That took a total of about 10 minutes. I plan to report Stan's Heating and Air Conditioning to the Better Business Bureau for falsifying repair work and attempting to overcharge me for unnecessary repair work. I had both systems repaired today by Total Comfort for $230. I had 2 trucks - the father (40 years of repair experience) and the son in two separate trucks within hours of my phone call. That included Diagnosing/testing both systems, replacing a thermostat, replacing a capacitor, blowing out all drain hoses, final testing of both systems. Stan's was going to charge me nerly double that amount to replace a perfectly good part on only ONE UNIT!

Plumb Doctors Plumbing Service
I'm very confused about my experience today.

The issue is my water heater won't turn on. The water heater is fine, with no leaks and no gas smell; it's the electric control box that won't work. We did make sure our breaker in the house works, and the electricity everywhere else works. Water heaters aren't like phones or computers, and you can't just plug them in somewhere else to test them.

I went to yelp! I had seen the yelp reviews were good; I went to the website and put in a web request. I didn't want the emergency plumbing appointment, and I did not call. But it was early in the morning when I put the web request in.

First positive, I got a great response back in an email. It was cheerful, had great information, gave me a number to call, and said, 'we only do onsite quotes' and 'let's schedule you for a quote. Perfect! This is great!

So I called. I was on hold for a long time. Then a woman answered, and I told her what was going on, I explained I put in a web request, and I got an email response to schedule for it, and I needed the quote and what was wrong with the water heater.

Now, it's very possible, and I'll contend this, that I said that quickly and she didn't understand me. That's why I'm giving this rating 3 stars and not 1 for the situation. This could be my fault for not speaking more carefully initially. Yet, whatever it was, I didn't get any probing questions, or What's your name, ma'am or anything to see if I put in a request.

Her response was, Ummmm, hmmm, let me see if we even do that, I was on hold a long time again. When she returned, she sounded more confused than I felt as I wrote this.

Well, we only go out to the property, and we would have to look at it, and then we would determine if we could even fix it or if it has to be replaced.

I know that. At the beginning of the call, I told her I had gotten the email. I was calling to schedule as the email said. Why is she confused? Why doesn't she know how it works if she works there?

I said, Yeah, I figured that's what you would do.

She says, again sounding completely confused, Well, um, let's schedule you, but um, I have to tell you something to make sure you understand.

Okay.

We can only come out during the emergency hours, so it's going to be more money.

I did explain that I didn't want the emergency hours; that's why I put in the request. She told me they might be able to maybe see me sometime next week.  She did it with the tone of someone about to tell you, no, we can't, the next second. Are they that busy, or is it me?

I don't get it. The reviews are great, the email was great, and the owner looks great, but if the person taking the orders isn't sure how to do an order or how the order works, how do I know it will be booked correctly?

I told her I'd call back, but I'm unsure if I will. I was left confused and unsure after that call. I thought I'd leave this review, at least. Maybe it's a weird day. Anyway, that's my experience.

Plumb & Order Plumbing Service
We had an aging water heater that we had serviced about a year ago. This spring it stopped working again. After a poor experience with another local company (they didn't even do diagnostics - just stood there and speculated about what might be wrong), we called Plumb & Order. They came out same day and did a quick and easy repair, basically the same thing we had done by someone else last year. We asked for a replacement estimate but thought we might get another 6 months before having to do anything. Nope - two months later it gave up the ghost. Plumb & Order came out next day to do the replacement and get our closet up to code. Both crews who came by were friendly, professional, quick, and informative, the work was excellent, and both jobs were affordable. We will definitely use them again!

Scott did an amazing job with my leaking pipe in my garage. I messaged him at 11pm on Friday night and he responded in real-time and was able to come out the next day. He also helped me with trying to get me maximum coverage with my insurance and even gave me a discount when they didn't cover the repairs. 5/5 would recommend Scott again!

Nick is indeed awesome.  Believe everything everyone is saying about him - he is a pleasure to work with.  We wanted to get a tankless water heater, but Nick talked us out of it - telling us that we'd have to get it cleaned every year for build-up, nullifying any savings we would have hoped for.  Having experienced the hard water build up already, we knew his advice was spot on.  We let Nick pick out our water heater.  This month's gas bill? $19!
