I called Doug's to install a new faucet/drain set (which my wife had already purchased) for the bathroom sink and also to repair a leaky kitchen faucet. Jason was the plumber sent to handle this call, and he handled those problems in an entirely professional manner. In particular: for the installation he explained the cost and then, upon our approval, took his time (though it was more than he had anticipated) to make sure that it was done not just properly but also optimally. He then examined the leaky faucet and pointed out that installing an entirely new unit would cost little more than repairing the old one; he recommended that we forgo the repair, get a new faucet set, and call back later to have it installed -- advice for which we were grateful and that we followed. Throughout, Jason was friendly and helpful; he also cleaned up the work area thoroughly upon completion and, while inside the house, even covered his shoes with protective booties to help preserve our floors.
Hence I do not hesitate to recommend Doug's for plumbing service. The only caveat is that, instead of charging by the hour for labor, that cost is set *in advance* by their book. This means the fee may end up being *more* than that with a plumber who simply charges an hourly rate; in that sense, a book-style pricing policy is to the vendor's advantage. At the same time, though, the resulting fixed prices are an advantage for the customer whenever (as happened with our bathroom faucet installation) the project takes *longer* than the book's pricing would predict.

I recently had the PRV replaced at the house. The price that Lakeway Plumbing charged was quite reasonable since the valve was already dug out and exposed. They were efficient and explained the different options. I was pleased with the work.

Unfortunately my review is not a positive one. I called Tony this morning after being referred to him by another plumber. He was supposed to show up between 11 and 1 but did not. I had to call him to find out why he never showed up. He said he was so busy he had lost track of time. He arrived at 2pm with equipment that did not work. (Electric snake, for which he apparently has to order a part.) So now, on a Friday afternoon, we have to find someone else. Guess we'll be making more than One Call. He did not charge us, which I appreciate, but we will not be calling him again.

Me. Plumber did an outstanding job today for an extremely reasonable price. I am very satisfied with the quality of their work and the care they took with my house. Very highly recommend these guys. Formerly Steve's Plumbing! Rosendo and his helper are awesome for sure.

MF-ing pros to the rescue.
After spending a week with no A/C, we finally broke down and called TACS. I'm so glad we did! Our technicians were professional and efficient, and the new system keeps the house at the appropriate meat locker frigidity on these 105 degree days. We decided to go with the dual temperature and humidity control system, and have seen a marked difference in how cool the air feels at a higher temperature than we kept our old system. I haven't had to set the gauge below 79 yet, and have been cool as a pickle pop all night. During the day, I leave it a few degrees higher, but the humidity control keeps it from feeling sweltering when I get home.
Overall, I am so glad I went with the Carrier dual control unit. It was a little more than the temperature control only model, but we did get a nice $1000 Cool Choices Rebate from the manufacturer. The rebate comes as a credit card, but you can opt to receive a check instead by going online and calling the number provided.
TACS are superstars in my book. They saved us from our dangerous acclimation to moderate discomfort, and for that. . . we salute you.

Mike has been my plumber for years except for a period when I lost his phone number and tried the number posted on Yelp. His business is NOT closed. It was just my good luck that I ran into him one day and got his number again. As great a plumber as he is, he simply does not advertise beyond having a business card. His phone number is 512-626-8036. Do yourself a favor and hang onto that number.

Richard and his crew have never let me down. Excellent work, great communication, always tells me exactly what is going on. He just replaced our ancient, crumbling water line to our house. Lots of problems to solve, and I know it will last for ages.

I had a great experience last weekend when I needed a plumber ASAP due to a household leak and I will never take for granted the ability to get an emergency plumber! My leak happened shortly after the Texas/OU football game and even in the best of times, plumbers are constantly busy. Anyways, the dispatch at 1st Home & Commercial were very professional and sent Chris my way who drove in over 50 miles from Seguin to my place in West Austin!!!!
Chris showed up in a well outfitted truck and was quick to diagnosis my issue which he worked on and solved pretty quickly. The rate was fair and waiting would've only cost me more in terms of water damage so I was grateful Chris applied his know how for my benefit.
Afterwards I had a decent amount of water damage that needed to be dealt with and Chris referred a water damage service who I had a great experience with and were dispatched immediately coming in from Bastrop.
All in all, it was great to work with Chris and I certainly suggest 1st Home and Commercial for everyday and particular short notice emergency service.

110% satisfied with the quality of my water softener, the no pressure sales, and the energy and professionalism of the installation team. I purchased my AW softener at the end of May 2015 and highly recommend AWS. If you are seriously considering buying a water softener and are considering AWS do not hesitate, you will not regret your investment.

We had a foundation leak. I called John because our kids played baseball together. He came out that day and completely over charged us for the work he did. What irritates me the most of that he lead me to believe insurance would cover most of the work done, which they do not and he knew that. They do not display pricing anywhere. The worst part of the whole experience is the restoration company that he tried to bring with him but I wanted to wait for insurance. I ended up using the company since I thought i thought I could trust John. They ended up being shady crooks!!

For the sake of clarity and to provide additional evidence:
Completed the opening of the attic door through another vendor -- the job was completed with the highest level of consideration/quality. The entire job took 5 hours -- started at 10 am, with a one hour lunch break, the job was completed by 4 pm. Cost: $800. Doing the math: $800/5 = $160 per hour sounds reasonable at least.
With GIS quote: $1800/5 = $360 per hour. I would leave this to the prospective clients to decide if this is reasonable and that the services offered by GIS is not for everyone.

We were having some hot water issues. Called Plumb Masters, got the apt scheduled. Gage called 25 min before arriving, they were on time, actually early. Both Gage and Steven were very friendly, knowledgeable and got right to work. They solved the problem and even helped me with one small handle issue on our tub.
I would highly recommend Plumb Masters for any of your plumbing needs. Top notch customer service from the scheduling of appt. to finished job.
Thanks

My disposal needed to be replaced. I called several plumbers, Lanier are the only ones that actually answered my call and set an appointment with me for the next day. They arrived on time and sent two plumbers! They were professional, friendly, and fast. I highly recommend them and will not hesitate to call them again when I need a plumber.

Claude and Nanci are the dynamic duo! After months of renovations (and really years of searching), I finally found a knowledgeable and caring plumbing expert. He caught problems and even more so were generous with their time to research options. I highly recommend them, and they will be my first call from here on out! They also just seem like a lovely people who do take the time to do things the right way, honestly. We need more Claude and Nancis in this world! Thank you!

This company did the plumbing install on our new house. We had problems from the start. We had out clean out clogged several times. Finally the city came out and ran a camera through the pipe. Their report was shocking and acurate.
The pipe had unnecessary bends, was crushed with a large rock and root, and had a blocked off y fitting in the section. What a joke. Totally Inane...
