We woke up to water pouring through our condo ceiling and called Apex as we'd used them before for plumbing. They were very busy and said they might not be able to make it out that day, but then moved things around to fit us in because it was an emergency! The plumber came quickly, called with a 30-minute heads up when he was on his way, and diagnosed the problem right away. The upstairs neighbor's plumbing was involved, so he had to communicate with her too, and wound up replacing her toilet. He did his due diligence of making sure the water stopped dripping in our place before confirming that was the problem, which we appreciate as we've had less diligent plumbers in the past. He got everything done quickly and wore a mask and gloves really appreciated too, as we are super paranoid right now. I will say I'm a bit on the crazy side about covid so I was disappointed that he didn't have shoe covers, and the mask was a basic surgical mask, not the N95 advertised on their site, but he was very careful and considerate the whole time, and I think his precautions were all reasonable and professional - plus I can understand they might not be able to access N95 masks right now.

Before Jan ran out to door to try to charge me, he troubleshot over there phone and helped me to understand that my tenant's shower was not a problem at all.  Who has that kind of integrity any more?  I will recommend Vanguard whenever possible, and if you have any plumbing problem, Jan is the man to trust.  It is worth everything to be able to trust someone on something the rest of us know nothing about.

I wish I could give him 100 stars. As numerous other reviews say, he's great.

He's a genuinely nice guy and loves helping people.

He fixed burst pipes caused by the severe cold weather last week and came back for follow-up visits to fix any remaining issues.

He spent a decent amount of time on the job.

His coworker is also a very nice guy.

We called another handyman site, punch list, and were told that it would take four days for someone to arrive just to give us an estimate and then we would have to wait longer for someone to do the repair.  We set the appointment for the estimate, but grew impatient.  The following day we called Fixer and they scheduled something for that afternoon.  They had to cancel because their previous job ran longer than expected and rescheduled for 9am.  The next morning, they arrived 15 minutes late, not a problem.  They gave us a quick estimate for the work and got started right away.  Our job was pretty big and it ran long as well, but they stayed and finished the work.  I am really happy we called them.  Our job was completed two days prior to the appointment for the other site's estimate.  Bottom line, these folks are fast and they stay until the work is done.  If they push back your appointment, it is because they are treating their current job with the care and attention that it deserves.  Even with the delay, they were 3 to 5 days faster than their competitor.  I will call them again for my next project.  Oh... and they were priced fairly too. Delightful.

These guys were fantastic.  They scheduled quickly and where there the next morning.  Eric walked me through the issue and all steps of the project. The problem with fixed and our basement is DRY...  Hire with confidence.

You could say it was the perfect storm...

1)  I went out of town for a week, during which time my husband decided his butt was too good for the thinner toilet paper we usually use (because we live in a very old house with old pipes).

2)  When I got back, my six-year old daughter decided to express her anger over me going on vacation by putting half a roll of this thicker toilet paper in the toilet and then taking a man-sized dump on top of it. And then she left it there for me to find.

3)  Which I did (thanks, sweetheart!), but when I tried to flush it all down...

4)  The toilet said nope.

Over the next two days, I tried to unclog the toilet many, many times, using everything I could think of. I tried three types of plungers, and even soap and boiling water, then baking soda and vinegar, when I got desperate. Finally, on Sunday morning, when I knew friends were coming over in just a few hours to watch the Super Bowl, I decided to call a plumber.

I messaged three companies, and All Rooter & Plumbing was the only one who responded to me. Bert messaged me back quickly through yelp and said he could be at my house in a couple hours--and he was. Bert was friendly and professional, worked quickly, and, most importantly, he unclogged the toilet. It cost us a small fortune, but he got the job done. I'm grateful, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend All Rooter & Plumbing to anyone in a similar situation.

Our bathtub handles and shower couplet were leaking and the pipes were very old.  Joe saved the day by replacing the pipes to the bathtub and shower and put a round dish with the on and off for the water and new shower couplet!  He also replaced the on and off valves in the laundry room.  Joe was quick and very knowledgable!  Joe and Lucas make a great team.  I would definitely use their service again!

Desperately needed to find someone to fix our sewer line blockage. Requested multiple quotes but no one was available. Previous guys who we contacted did a horrible job with lack of response/communication. Did a bit of Yelp searching and found the Plumbing Pros. Called Gary, got a response in less than 15 minutes, he was at my house 10 min after that, and was done in less than 25 min. The total time the entire thing took from phone call to working sewer line was probably an hour MAX. I have never seen someone be so punctual and so efficient. The quote was also very reasonable and I will be looking at the Plumbing Pros for my future help. Highly recommend. You will not find anyone more polite, efficient, punctual, and professional. Very, very satisfied!!

These guys went above and beyond. I bought a new unit in my building and there were a few items I'd planned (fixture changes, sconces, outlet tests) and a few I didn't (2 broken breakers, and a few other complications). Jose was professional, polite, and very helpful. I knew just enough electrical to get part way on some of the projects then got stuck. He made above and beyond trips for parts on short notice and was very easy to work with, both him and his assistance for the heavy lifting. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again, and in case you need them to be insured for your homeowners association, they quickly provided this as well.

We converted our 2 water heaters into a tankless water heater. We got 2 estimates and went with the slightly lower one. Arco came and did the work in less than a full day's shift. A few days later we noticed a lot of condensation in our 1 basement wall and called them stating there's something going on..
it also happened to be an extremely cold December night. They came out the next day to check out what was going on. Found out the problem was something completely unrelated with our furnace causing the problem. Long story short, they showed us the problem, did a quick temporary fix and told us who to contact for a long term solution. They honestly could have told us, not our problem, because it was something the previous owner messed up that we hadn't noticed yet since buying 2 years ago. Such excellent service and decent folk. Highly recommend

My project, which was to replace the rotted trim around the entry doors of a rental property proved more challenging than was initially anticipated. Tim came up with a solution, and executed the work to my complete satisfaction.
He arrived on time, and somehow survived a trip to Home Depot to pick up supplies, when half of Chicago had decided to spend their Memorial Day there!
I would definitely hire him again

I had a clogged underground downspout drain in La Grange area.  Just noticed it during installation of new gutters, replacing probably 40 year old gutters.  Rooter showed up within an hour for a free estimate.  He got hands on and showed me how extremely jam packed it was with dirt and roots.  It had probably been that way for years and years.

He offered a few solutions and was honest about the probability of it being a total loss anyway after trying those solutions, needing to dig up and replace the pipe.  In the end, I think I'm going to avoid it altogether and go with a normal above ground downspout solution.  

Rooter has fast, reliable, honest service.  I'm going to call them again the next time I need a plumber.

Chicago Sewer Experts came out to fix an issue we were having with our washer/sink draining. Not only were they late (arrived past the time window we were given and no call to let us know they were running late), but the worker then locked his keys in the car which took half an hour to resolve. He used OUR tools to get himself back into his car. Once he was finally able to get in the car and get his tools, he did NOT tell us that blowing out the hose of the dryer would cause our kitchen sink to be blown out too. This caused mud and debris from the pipes to be blown all over our kitchen and our ceiling, which led to a lengthy cleaning process on our end and trying to figure out how to scrub the ceiling. Absolutely do not use them.

Called to set up a time for plumber to come out- he said he would be at my place the next day between 9am-11am... Time goes by- it's 11:30am.. I text... no response!!! I called.. no answer!! I left a VM.. never got a call back!! Horrible responsiveness and customer Service!! Not sure how they have so many good reviews!  Maybe this was an off day but damn!!!
Very disappointed.

Completely dissatisfied and disgusted with two recent jobs by Goode Plumbing, especially considering that I am a repeat customer (3 jobs in 2020-2021) who had a good experience with this company in the past.  Not only did they not do the job as outlined in the estimate/proposal (rebuild a vintage shower... in fact they did not rebuild anything), but even worse, now the shower is not functioning at all.  So, I paid $1,700 to have damage to my vintage shower that will now cost me at least $1,200 to fix (according to another plumber).  Not to mention that they kept my credit card on file without my authorization and charged the final payments without my authorization.  Also the scheduling and follow up from the office staff was pathetic.  One person seemed to know what was going on and another, completely clueless.  Will not work with this company in the future.

Walter conducts his business with the upmost professionalism and responsiveness.  I called on a Friday evening with a plumbing problem that needed to be addressed ASAP and he was out there Saturday morning.  He stands by his work, is fairly priced, makes sure the job is done right, and to back it up is right by his phone should you ever need him.  I would highly recommend him to anyone.  He's a true professional.  Thanks again Walter!
