Ridiculously EXPENSIVE!!! This plumber is a total rip off. He charged me $85 just for giving me an estimate after giving me a ridiculous price just to open the tank and tell me I needed to spend $450 on parts. I might as well buy a whole new toilet.

Mac is THE GUY to call if you need a new hot water heater. He's hardworking, extremely experienced, and gets the job done well. I called him after we discovered a very small leak in our tank, which could have turned into a big issue, and he was out the next morning to replace our hot water heater. I'm so grateful to the other Yelp reviewers for taking the time to recommend him. On top of everything he's a super nice guy. And his price was competitive. If you need a new hot water heater, give Mac a call. No need to look any further.

I hired Anthony at Rocket Plumbing to rod my sewer line.  He came to my house, charged me $900 to get 3/4ths of the way thru the job and told me that my sewer lines were disconnected.  And that I'd needed to break up the concrete in my sidewalk and replace the pipes.  As he delivers this news, a guy standing next to him (wearing a jacket from another company) hands me a $5,000 estimate.  

I found this to be suspect and dubious.  If there is a bigger problem, I want to know that the original company I hired doesn't have a link to the company getting the much more expensive job.

So I hired another sewer firm, Trenchless Innovations, that charged me $250 to complete the original job.  They saw no indication of any problems with the sewer lines.

Thomas was a pleasure to work with during our recent project on our main sewer line.  He responded quickly to our first call to visit our house and provided his recommendations.  He came with a more conservative and less expensive approach than another company which was refreshing.  Thomas and team were on-time, hard working and courteous. He also made us feel calm during what could have been a stressful project.  The work was very effective.  We will use them again.

If you need a plumber look no further and call Windy City Plumbing!!  Very responsive, fast working, professional and reasonable!!  We had sewage backing up in our basement and within 30 min the guys had it cleared and cleaned up!  Thank you Windy City!

On time. Got done what I needed done fast and everything looks great. I will certainly be hiring them again for any plumbing needs that arise.

During the cold weather we had a pipe burst. While they were very busy due to the high volume of pipe bursts in the city, they were extremely late in making our appointment. We weren't given an estimate to fix the issue and instead were sent a $400 bill to stop the leak. What we late learned was that the plumber didn't even re attach the pipes so that we could use our washer and dryer. Net net, we had a late plumber, a $400 charge to stop a leak and not even fix it.

Not recommended until your issue is not urgent and you receive a firm quote beforehand.

Honest and responsible professional. You can trust Jesus. He paid us a house call after we had a frozen pipe. I was out of town and my wife had to deal with it with two little kids.. He had advised us to run the dryer and put space heaters in the laundry room to thaw the washer line and it worked but only after he was on his way. He arrived when he said he would and found the pipe to have thawed. HE DIDNT CHARGE ANYTHING FOR THE HOUSE CALL!

I'm loving both Yelp and Green Tech right now. We have a valve installed under our utility sink in the basement that we close when there is heavy rain and flooding. Without the valve, water can back up into the sink and into the basement. Today Chicagoland was hit with the very heavy rain and flooding that I feared.... and of course, our valve broke. As our street started to fill with water I headed to Yelp to look for a plumber. The reviews of Green Tech were stellar, so I called and got an answering machine.  I left a message at 9:32am and was not all that hopeful for a response given that today may be one of the busiest days for plumbers this whole year. At 9:41am I got a call back from Kevin. He was super personable and helpful, quickly understood my needs and despite this being a day from hell, said this would be a quick fix and that he would try to fit me in after lunch. Sure enough, he called after lunch and said Tim was on his way. Tim was awesome... he took a look, discussed options with us and within less than half an hour I had a new valve at a reasonable price. Would have been easy to gouge customers on a day like today. We have a couple of other plumbing projects and we will definitely be calling Green Tech. I highly recommend them. And I'm thankful that others took the time to review them to make my decision easy. Thanks Kevin & Tim!

Adam and his colleague did an excellent job! They were quick to respond when we had a water leak coming down from the ceiling. Communication was clear and they were very transparent on what needed to be done. They went above and beyond and helped us even move an old car and then cleaned up afterward! Highly recommend

Darell did a really good job. We are trying to install a smart Toto toilet washlet cover, but wasn't sure where to get the power supply. Darell provided us a complete solution for installing this water proof outlet and showed us how to route the water supply. Excellent job. Highly recommended.

The project was not a simple plumbing repair; a cold water line beneath a small area of our garage floor had burst before we purchased our home and washing the car and watering a portion of our lawn was challenging.  Only two of the four contractors came-out to even look at the project.  
After a little emailing back and forth I had a cost estimate (reasonable) and scheduled date.  The two plumbers showed up on time and completed the project in half a day; their work was excellent.  They cleaned-up fairly well, but their shoe covers were a little dirty and have to hire someone else to repair the concrete floor.  That's why I rated them a four instead of a five.  While they didn't have as many reviews as others, I won't let that be the deciding factor.  I'd recommend them...

Ride the no-stress express.  Called them on a weekend eve (no emergency) for an upcoming install.  Surprised to get a call back same evening from Demitri (owner).  

He came out the next day for a quick estimate on installing a gas line for new gas stove. Set up a date and time quickly, even came early on the install day.  

Professional, personable, explained the process, clean and efficient. Done.  Thumbs up.

I am very happy that I called Mike the Plumber! I had a clogged bathtub, and Mike fixed my bathtub problem quickly with same-day service.  I moved into my vintage condo recently, and Mike answered my questions and explained how the plumbing in my older unit works.  He is coming back to fix a radiator next week. Mike is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly and takes a lot of care in his work. I highly recommend Mike and will hire him again!

Our water heater stopped working about two weeks ago.  Since that time, we've tried several of the different large plumbing services who were providing large estimates without even looking at my issues.  For me, the very last straw was when I called one of the services I used at the very start of my issues.  The new technician explained to me that the technician that the firm sent out the first time didn't do the work correctly but he (from the same exact company) would fix me right up for an additional $4,000.

It was at this point that I knew I needed to try a very different approach.  I opened Yelp and placed a query for a plumber.  Juan from A&Y plumbing and Sewer Services responded to my query.  Let me just say that if you are a homeowner in need for quality work by someone who not only explains to you what needs to be done but also treats you with respect - this is the  company for you.  I have noticed in previous projects at my home that some of this large plumbing services assume that if you are calling them, you are so desperate to end your problem you will pay any ridiculous cost.  I've owned my home over twenty years.  I have at least a couple of instances where I knew I overpaid for subpar work and I was determined that I would be treated fairly in the effort.  With Juan I felt in my gut that he would be trust worthy because he started out with let me see if this can be fixed and if not, we can discuss other options.  This was In stark contrast to the other service where the gentleman immediately told me, this isn't something you repair, it is something you replace!.  He hadn't even come to my home yet.

In short, Juan was able to fix it.  He then walked me through the process he followed to trouble shoot the issue and correct the problem.  I have an advanced degree in information technology so root cause analysis is something I truly appreciate!  It doesn't mean i expected to walk away knowing how to troubleshoot this issue myself but for someone to just give me the respect of fully explaining what was happening and why we needed to fix/replace things.

For me, during a time when I felt like other services were treating me horribly - it was absolutely refreshing to be treated with kindness and respect. The cherry on the cake was that Juan's cost was reasonable and his work was awesome!  This was one of those times where I very gladly paid his fee and I am already referring him to my friends and family.   This is company is definitely a keeper for me!!
