Best in Boston MA
Very happy with their responsiveness and work. They showed up right on time and got the work done quickly. Friendly and funny. Masked when needed. I've used them before and will again.

The Drain Guy of Cambridge, MA - will now be for us, after going thru a variety of plumbing and drain rooter services, our go to. Everyone, from the answering service, to the man who got right back to us, to Patrick - who came out within the hour to service our kitchen drain were courteous and professional and only charged a very reasonable flat rate which they quoted up front, with no additional service charges. Our drain was very clogged, and required extra time of examining from the basement, yet Patrick was careful to volunteer to check the washing machine, to make sure that the unclogging of the kitchen line did not back it up. And - bottom line, we saved $300 from the last service we had of a house drain. Totally awesome company!

Main sewer line failure due to a city tree. Kevin was there within an hour of the initial call. He had a very reasonable estimate. He pulled all the permits with the city that day. Was back the next day on schedule. Excavated, repaired, buttoned up within nine hours. Perfectly executed. Unconditional recommendation.

Called Dennis, needing my washer and gas dryer installed. He came the next morning, did a fantastic job, ran a few feet of extra pipe for the gas and charged less than I would have thought. Highly recommended.

Frank was awesome! I called him for a dripping bath tub and low water preasure in my kitchen sink. He came by the same day that I called to look at the issues and said he would be back the next day to fix both. He showed up on time with a helper and replaced my kitchen faucet in no time. My bathtub turned out to be more of a project than originally thought and it was getting late and would need another day to finish, but when Frank found out I would be out of town for the rest of the week he went to home depot, got the part I needed and stayed until 8:30 pm finishing the job. His prices that he quoted were what he charged, and they were very reasonable. I would call Frank again for any plumbing needs!

Who ya gonna call when your drain is clogged. Even my regular and Reliable plumber told me to call them for a clogged drain. With that said the prices are very expensive.

Absolute Prevision Plumbing repaired a hot water radiator in my home. They showed up on time, were professional, and cleaned up after they were finished. The process took shorter than they estimated. They also followed up with me later that evening and in the week to make sure the radiator was still working and to make sure I was happy with their work. I highly recommend their work.

Rude as f. Under stressful situations, this is my first time reaching out for heating issues ever. This dude yelled at me, bad customer service got mad when I didn't use them. Was considering saving this business number for future use but no thanks, before I could finish talking he yelled at me. Would rather pay more to go with someone else. Sorry it didn't work out, but no reason to be rude, especially to first time customers. I don't play games either.

After the third time of using their plumbing services, I learned my lesson.
In short, a review of my experiences:
1. We have a dripping bathtub faucet. My husband calls and schedules Allen Plumbing to come over. He asks on the phone how much it will cost to repair, and they cannot provide this information. I do understand that they are unaware of the exact problem, but couldn't they AT LEAST give an hourly rate? Apparently not. They come over and complete the job in about 2 hours time, and charge $350. I know absolutely nothing about plumbing, so I groan and hand over my credit card and pay the bill. The dripping in the bathtub has stopped, so I am pleased enough. At this point in time I would give them 4 stars.
2. A few months later (two weeks ago) we get a new dish washer. (We are redoing the kitchen so need several plumbing services in the next few weeks). Again, they cannot tell me on the phone how much it will cost to hook up the dish washer. Again, I tell them to come over and complete the work. (Stupid me). Plumber comes over and completes job to satisfaction in an hour's time. Charge this time is $375. I am shocked by price, but pay again. 3 stars now.
3. Two weeks later (last week). We are having new countertops installed, and so I call Allen again to disconnect (and one day later reconnect) the sink/disposal/dishwasher. I justify this in that their work has been solid so far. (But really, shame on me as I know their prices seem high, and have not yet looked elsewhere). Plumber comes over and charges $200 to disconnect the above items. This takes 30 minutes. Plumber THEN QUOTES THAT IT WILL BE $700 TO RECONNECT ABOVE ITEMS AFTER COUNTERTOPS ARE INSTALLED. (Sorry for caps, but that is just insane). Plumber leaves. 0 STARS if allowed. Disgusted and shocked. Another local plumber must charge less, right?
I call several plumbers around the area, and come into contact with Alewife Company. Reviews look solid. They charge $93/hour (upfront, how novel). He says it will take about 3 hours to complete project. It seems I will already save $300 from Allen Plumbing.
Alewife Co plumber (Donald?) comes the following day. It takes him one hour to hook up the dishwasher, new garbage disposal, and faucets. The price? $106. I just saved $600 (and probably could have saved much more with prior projects).
Now - Alewife Co - 5 stars, Allen Plumbing - 0 stars.
I feel robbed, and will never, ever use them again. This is my first review EVER, but I deemed it necessary to warn potential customers.
Go elsewhere, PLEASE.

If you are looking for a local plumbing and heating company, Kirkland and Shaw is the best. My manifold broke and was leaking. Tom Vaughn quickly assessed the situation and within a day sent Joe, a great technician and quickly fixed the problem.
Thank you Tom, Joe and Kirkland and Shaw.

Why hasn't anyone else reviewed these guys?
I called 3 other plumbers (all highly rated on Yelp); couldn't even get them to return my call. My upstairs neighbor uses Brennan for everything, so we gave them a call. Steven Brennan showed up on time and took care of a problem with the bathroom sink that was supposed to be unrepairable. On time, reasonably priced, friendly and polite ... and the work is great. Highly recommend.

I met Rusty when I bought my house in 97... Since then he has done all my work, from water heater, furnace to new BR and kitchen. Always punctual, professional and reasonable and throw in a great sense of humor. Never had a problem with ANYTHING he has done. He does not take new customers but if you do get in you are VERY fortunate. He is very busy but you can get in touch with him anytime... wish I could give him 10 stars... All tradesmen should be this good!

Called Dan to install 2 toilets and he was very prompt and informative scheduling an appointment in just a few days. Chris showed up and got both toilets installed pretty quickly, even bringing shims which were needed since my flange was a little high off the ground. The flange on one of my toilets was unsecured and he also did the work to reinforce it so it was secured to the floor. Would recommend to anyone with plumbing needs as these guys are both affordable and take great care with getting the job done.

There is nobody we trust more when dealing with our plumbing than the guys at Drain Flow. Great rates, knowledgeable, and courteous. What more do you need?

Furnace stopped working last night, and it's barely 20 degrees outside. Got Charlie's name from some folks on a local Arlington listserv, all with glowing reviews. They were right! He called us back right away, happened to be in our neighborhood and showed up within 5 mins. Problem identified and fixed, all for a very reasonable price on a Saturday morning.

A little confused. Made a service call on a week day, not a holiday and not a weekend. tech came out, looked at furnace and said you need filters but I don't have any on the truck gonna have to go to Home Depot. What? standard size filters not on truck? decided to get them myself.
Then he charged $200.00 for simple diagnostics (not even for replacing a filter). When asked why so expensive? He said yeah we're pretty expensive
Other furnace in same house not working. Called different company (second one on list with good reviews just under Jonasson).... $95.00 for visit and diagnostics.
I'm finishing a new house in a few months. I will need a service contract......who do you think I'm going to call?
