The Drain Guy

I called the Drain Guy when my kitchen sink was backed up. The two people I interacted with were excellent - the person answering my phone call and Matt coming out for the service, both were friendly and professional.

Matt arrived within 45 minutes and in another 20 or less, my drain was fine. He was so nice. I watched the work being done and Matt was methodical and efficient. After the work was done he sanitized the area under my sink and cleaned up anything he had moved. I'd certainly call The Drain Guy Again!

Outstanding! Spoke to Matt in the evening and Pat came promptly in the morning. I was in great need to get a toilet issue resolved for my father in Wayland. Pat was excellent. I will highly recommend to friends, family, anyone. Thank you so much!

I called on a Saturday night about a clogged shower drain - Matt called me right back and scheduled an appointment the following morning. He was very friendly professional, even wearing booties to protect the floors, and got the job done quickly and for a reasonable price. I highly recommend The Drain Guy and would call again!

The technician came out because our toilet was clogged (there was a quantity of woodchips that had been flushed down). Even though we tried to flush it repeatedly for a few days, right when the tech arrived it flushed for the first time.

But it was still acting oddly so he snaked it, then removed it to make sure nothing was stuck inside. He replaced the toilet with a new wax ring.

The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because of something I noticed when he left; his snake tool left a big scratch on the inside of the toilet bowl. I noticed the tool looked like it was all-metal. The ones I see at Home Depot have plastic on the end. So maybe they need a new tool.

When our the pipe into which our washing machine drain stopped draining, we called The Drain Guy - left a message with the answering service, they called right back, set up a convenient time the next day. Pat arrived right on time, diagnosed the problem, got right to it with his snake, was friendly and informative throughout, cleaned up when done, and presto! No more blockage, all working great. And the charge ($175) was less than what I found online for the area average ($205)

Came out as scheduled . Performed the service but was impatient. The guy keeps rushing his work and wanted to leave. They did the work right but I give them a 3 stars for rushing his work.

Came the night before Thanksgiving to clear out our bathroom sink drain. Extremely professional, very personable and did a great job for a reasonable amount of money. Definitely recommend him!

Matt was great, showed up promptly, explained the problem and resolved it quickly.  i asked for him to come at a certain time on a Sunday and they called at that time and came by less than an hour later.  Price is completely reasonable, I'll use them again.

You know quarantine's getting to you when you're excited to have a conversation with someone you just met about strategies for keeping a clean toilet. Matt and Patrick are the best. We had a clogged toilet. Patrick was here within an hour. He didn't make me feel embarrassed that we had a dire and unglamorous poop situation going on. These guys are worth hiring just for their accents. It's like getting a visit from Mark Wahlberg!

Had a main pipe in the basement that was clogged. We tried to snake ourselves but the issue was further into the pipe and our snake couldn't reach it. I called Matt the next day and he was able to come down 1 hour after the call. He is friendly and professional. His approach to tackling the problem was very professional, systematic, and clean. A lot of contractors can probably do the same thing but will also charge you more and make a mess. I was impressed with his attitude and his pricing was very fair as well. He doesn't exploit you. we need more guys like him not just as a drain guy but his work ethic and attitude. No problem recommending him to friends and family.

Answered quick, came in a reasonable time, did their job, and priced it well.  I will definitely use them again and would be happy to recommend them.

The main sewer line of our house had backed up and clogged Saturday night to Sunday morning and all efforts to snake the issue ourselves were to no avail. I called the usual 24 hour big name service company that rhymes with Toto Pooper a little before noon and then proceeded to wait for 7 hours for service after being given a four hour service window and dealing with a very unfriendly dispatch center that didn't seem to care that we had no access to water or the toilet all day.

A neighbor friend when hearing about our predicament recommended Matt The Drain Guy and said that he was the best. I called Matt and got his call center and he returned my call within minutes. I told him about my issue and that i was also still waiting for service from the big name company. Matt told me he could definitely help me but that he was in the process of completing another service call and that if we didn't want to wait he could understand.

We decided to take whomever showed up first. The big name company finally showed after 7 hours, the estimate for the work was incredibly expensive but i figured that's what we get for trying to get service on a Sunday. I called Matt back to cancel my service call but also asked him if he could give me an estimate for the work that was just quoted. The Drain Guy quote was less than half of what was quoted by the big name company. I told Matt we would wait for him and he said that he had just finished his other call and be on his way. Within an hour Matt was at our door.

As others have said Matt was incredibly friendly and professional, being careful moving furniture and other items that may be in the way of the work. He explained the issues he may encounter and what he was going to do. Quickly he was able to snake our sewer main and make sure that it was draining 100%. Matt cleaned up any and all dirt and debris caused from the work. Credit card payment was fast and easy (using square on his phone). If ever i need drain service again Matt The Drain Guy will be my first call, I wish that more service contractors were like The Drain Guy,  good honest people who don't try to gouge customers in a time of need.

I am not sure I can say enough wonderful things about this company, Matt and Patrick. I talked with Matt over the phone and by the way he spoke I knew I had called the right place.  He set an expectation of when someone would be there and sure enough as promised, Patrick rang our bell.  Patrick was extremely professional, polite, educational and thorough.  He was determined to get to the root of our drain issue, and he did!!!! Patrick also kept me in the loop of what he was doing to fix the potential problem, all while making sure not to make a mess or track in mud!  I would highly recommend this company!!! Just moved into a new place when I noticed a leak around my toilet. Yuck. I know plumbers can really exploit people in our times of desperation. Called a few places on yelp and was either told I had to wait until January or that it would $300 just for a diagnosis. Luckily got a hold of Matt who was available almost immediately (it was the weekend) and could also work with my unpredictable schedule.

Matt came over, was super nice, put on booties so he didn't get my floor dirty, cleaned up all the nastiness and protected my floors from toilet sketchiness. Fixed my toilet in about an hour. Didn't BS me. Charged me exactly what he quoted. Adamantly refused tip. Also, easy payment, cash check or credit card with electronic receipt. Etc etc etc. Great guy, highly recommend him. Hopefully I won't have to call him again but if I have any drain issues, am grateful that I found him on Yelp.

Called The Drain Guy looking for service for a cinema i GM in Cambridge. After a few plumbers bailed on us earlier in the week (and one this morning) I was mostly expecting a standard brush-off reply, or a voicemail.

Instead I got an answer, and a good one. My info was taken, and Matt called me himself within 5 minutes. Said he was finishing up a job in Somerville and would head over shortly.

Probably 90 minutes later Matt pulled up, asked for me by name and we went off. Showed him the trouble areas, he went to work, and checked back in with me to discuss his process before actually beginning any work. About another 90 minutes later, he was finished along with my trouble urinal and toilet's problems.

Clear communication, friendly demeanor, quality work, reasonable rate. I'm honestly not sure what else I could ask for.

The Drain Guy of Cambridge, MA - will now be for us, after going thru a variety of plumbing and drain rooter services, our go to.  Everyone, from the answering service, to the man who got right back to us, to Patrick - who came out within the hour to service our kitchen drain were courteous and professional and only charged a very reasonable flat rate which they quoted up front, with no additional service charges.  Our drain was very clogged, and required extra time of examining from the basement, yet Patrick was careful to volunteer to check the washing machine, to make sure that the unclogging of the kitchen line did not back it up.  And - bottom line, we saved $300 from the last service we had of a house drain.  Totally awesome company!

We called Matt when our garbage disposal blocked up and our kitchen sink drain was clogged.  After another plumber never called us back, we had found him on Yelp and realized he was just a few blocks away!  The answering service answered and Matt himself called us back in about 10 minutes - very fast.

Given our location he came over about an hour later.  No extra fee for coming on a Sunday night.  No BS.  Upfront with reasonable price.

He fixed it, even chatted with us the whole time as we asked a million questions.  Matt even cleaned everything up himself, which was unexpected.

I would recommend The Drain Guy to neighbors, friends, family, and fellow yelpers.  If you want the job done without the run around he's your man.

I called on Memorial Day to schedule an appointment to drain a bathtub; Matt responded to me within an hour and was able to come and help 2 days later. The condo association I live in requires insurance information from contractors, and Matt did not question this and provided the information within 12 hours. He was thorough in his work and even found issues with other pipes that were unrelated to my bathtub when he had to go down to the crawl space. He suggested solutions to myself and the management of the building, and was cautious not to do any fixes unless he had our permission. I would recommend him! Oh and of course the drain issue was fixed, and works like a charm now!

Fast response and visit. Matt sent someone to see us within minutes of our call. He was very thorough, professional, and friendly.
