Due to budgetary restraints, I spent the past several years putting Band-Aids over our overworked gas heating system. When it came time to finally bite the bullet and replace it, I interviewed lots of contractors, plumbers, and HVAC. I got an interesting range of quotes and some crazy ideas on how to fix my heater problem. Some contractor showed up, some did not. Mark was by far my favorite. His knowledge was extensive which was necessary given the fact that I needed to have two zones repaired as one was not working, ductwork installed correctly, piping rerouted and extended from one side of the house to the other, and a difficult ventilation issue. This was on top of having the new gas furnace installed. I now have an incredibly efficient system that was installed well before the cold weather set in. Mark was extremely knowledgeable about gas, plumbing and HVAC and great to work with. He was able to work around my crazy, busy schedule and get the work done quickly, cleanly and according to code. He installed a high-efficiency heater, pulled the permits, and did everything necessary to have me up and running in a short amount of time. Now I have a have a great heater installed with the proper zoning and new ductwork. It works perfectly, was done correctly and is much quieter than my previous unit. - I had to have some work done in my house with another contractor, and he took a look at the new heater installation and was impressed with the install and Mark's ability to work around a very small room in order to make the heat work as efficiently as possible. I would highly recommend Mark and Epic Plumbing for your future heating needs.

I've found it difficult to find a reliable and high quality plumber, but Jim (and Matt) did an excellent job re-plumbing the drain system in my basement. I needed to create more headroom with several 3-4 PVC lines running too low out of the bays. It was not a simple job to figure out how to run everything... several other plumbers told me it would be too tricky. Jim gave me a fair quote and said he could do it in between larger jobs over the next four weeks. He was in touch 2 weeks later to schedule a time for the following week. Showed up right on time (without me even confirming), did the entire job just as asked and was out by 3pm. Very happy and would highly recommend him.

Just worked with Travis to replace our electric hot water heater with a new gas fired model. Very fair price and good quality workmanship - highly recommend him!

These plumbers are nice, fair, and, do good work. They were really polite to us, even though I left a mess in the walkway outside with gardening stuff (nobody should have to step in my pile of dead slugs on the way to the basement) and my youngest kid wanted to watch some of the installation of our new water heater. They came on a Saturday and explained how some of the stuff in our basement works, as in where the big drain is for letting out water if the basement ever floods.

I'm immunodeficient during this pandemic. I really didn't want to call a plumber, but I needed one. I certainly chose a WINNER! This plumber accommodated my situation very well. He showed up on time, wearing all requested Personal Protective Equipment. It was also good to know that he used new drop cloths, he cleaned his tool bags nightly, and that I was his first appointment of the day. He maintained proper social distancing when it was feasible. Two weeks later, I've not shown any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
As for the job itself, everything is now running smoothly. After assessing the problems, he quoted a price with contingencies. The final price was quite reasonable and well within the quote.
I would use this company again in a heartbeat.
P.S. I love the Mario & Luigi costumes in their avatar.

LB was great! Put in a request for a non-urgent issue with my garbage disposal on a Monday at 12 pm at LB was here at 3:30 during our requested window. Professional and quick, our garbage disposal is all set. Was also happy to hear LB is the owner of the company as supporting locally owned and black owned businesses is important. Will recommend to friends and others in the Boston area!

Props to Greg who answered my desperate plea for a cost estimate on an untimely garbage disposal leak and unit replacement. While I did not use his actual services, it's clear from the positive reviews and from his highly responsive, thorough, and professional correspondence that this is someone who clearly knows his stuff and is detail oriented (all things you want in a good plumber).
As part of my request for cost estimate I sent him a photo of my issue and even though I wasn't able to afford his services he alerted me to some additional problems I wasn't even aware of. Basically, not only did I have a leaking disposal, the way the dishwasher was connected to the disposal was incorrect and had he not told me that, I would soon have to deal with a destroyed dishwasher too.
I owe extra thanks to Greg and hope I'm able to use his services for future work (God knows my house has a never-ending list of projects).

I scheduled an appointment with Floros Plumbing for a Tuesday morning. I took the day off from work and waited for Petros to show up. I got 4 texts from him during the day saying he was delayed but he was coming. He shows up at my door at 4:30 to start a job that could take 3 - 4 hours. That won't work. So the job isn't done and I lost a vacation day. Beware he may be too busy for you. He was too busy for me. I ended up calling someone more dependable.

Called Alligators Rooter this morning as our kitchen sink disposal was making clanking noises and we had been putting off taking a look at it. About a month ago another plumber had come by to look and said we needed a new disposal. But when Tony came by, he took the original one apart and discovered a tiny screw had fallen in. All was good and Tony saved us the expense of a new disposal! Thank you Tony for your excellent service and prompt response, and we will call next time we have any plumbing issues.

Replaced a three way valve on my Navien burner for 2,500. Valve leaked 2 weeks later. They ordered a part and fixed it. Still leaked now they say I need a new unit for 11,000. They offered to put the 2,500 towards it but too overpriced. Had a new Navien tech come in to check it and lo and behold the three way valve way put in wrong. Blue Bear told me it was leaking from another spot. I don't have 2500 to throw away. The new company can replace the burner for 6k. Stay away from Blue Bear. Not honest and they don't take responsibility. His reply is not an accurate representation of what happened. His repair man encouraged us to replace the valve and said the unit had another 20 years. I believed him. He put the three way valve on wrong and that's what is leaking. No leaks in any other place. Take some responsibility for this Blue Bear!!
As far as the broken dryer, they hit the knob and broke it when they were servicing my boiler. It was on the floor when they left.

Run for the hills! I wouldn't use Patey if they were the only plumber in the city!
It took three calls (and leaving messages) to get them to call me back. Then, I made an appointment and they never showed. They didn't even call to reschedule. When I called the office back, they apologized but I was also told that they were very busy, and just couldn't make it. In hindsight: Really? This is how you do business? You're SOL lady?
I should have known then, but foolishly, I rescheduled the appointment.
For the next appointment, they showed up 40 minutes late. The worst part was, they didn't even fix my heating problem. They claimed they did, and happily charged me. But after a few weeks of nothing getting better, I ended up calling an second (much better and more efficient plumber) who came right out, fixed the problem, and sent me reasonable bill.
My advice is to Stay FAR AWAY from Patey.

My drain was backed up because of the garbage disposal. It took two trips for them to finally fix it. I overall appreciated the fact that they came quickly, responded swiftly, and communicated well. However, I don't feel like the issue was extreme enough to not fix everything in a timely manner. Price also seemed to be a bit high for them to just snake my pipes.

Use caution dealing with this business! I had requested services for a property and left VM asking that the owner return my call. Unknown to me, Donner came out to the property the very next day and replaced an instant hot water dispenser. Wonderful right? Not so! He charged $445 for a $298 Insinkerator hot water dispenser. His hourly rate was pretty high too $130 per hour. He charged 2 hours to do this job?? No other parts or problems reported, just replacing the dispenser. I am not a plumber but this sounded way off to me. After speaking to the owner directly there was no satisfaction even after explaining that the price of the dispenser at too local plumbing supply companies was $298. He was very defensive and I was suppose to be happy he came out so quickly! This wasn't an emergency and never expressed as one. Not calling me with a quote was actually clever on his part! The current resident allowed him into the property but it was unknown to me so I wasn't present.
My advice, get a quote from this business first and be present for the job!

Mike's father serviced all of the apartments we lived in when we were tenants in Allston, and all of the neighbors recommended the Torchio's when we bought our first house in 2004. Now we own and manage lots of rental units around the city, with oil, gas, and electric HVAC systems and Mike does them all. He comes on the coldest days for no heat calls, and on the hottest days for no A/C calls. He has fixed busted pipes, changed out steam radiators, unclogged drains and hooked up gas appliances for me. His bills are always a pleasant surprise - very reasonable. I have recommended Torchio & Son to countless others and I will keep calling.

We had a shutoff valve fail in our basement and water was leaking everywhere. Randy and Robert worked quickly and diligently to fix the problem! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend Sharp for any of your plumbing needs.

We had someone come over to give us a quote for a gas line extension and fireplace installation. 5 weeks later (and after calling them twice and emailing) we still haven't received a quote for the work. We took an afternoon off of work for nothing. Unprofessional.
