Best Plumbing Services in Texas

Doug The Plumber Plumbing Service
We love Doug's Plumbing! We've owned our home for almost 4 years and had to (unfortunately) call Doug's a few times.
We had a water main break in our front yard before we were heading out of town for my brother's wedding. It was taken care of and we were able to enjoy the wedding weekend.
Our septic tank backed up after we had a large get together at our house. The culprit was likely flushable (which really aren't flushable) wipes, but they were out to our house the day we called and fixed the issue promptly.
About a year ago, we thought there was a gas leak with 1 of our water heaters. We got the inspection done and luckily there was no leak. We opted to have their annual maintenance plan and received a discount on the services. AND with the maintenance plan you get all things plumbing related serviced in your home. It was definitely worth it.
Doug came out today for the annual plumbing checkup and was a great guy. He helped tighten up things that needed to be tightened and drain things that needed to be drained with a smile on his face and some useful tips.
Highly recommend!

Me. Plumber did an outstanding job today for an extremely reasonable price.  I am very satisfied with the quality of their work and the care they took with my house.  Very highly recommend these guys.  Formerly Steve's Plumbing!  Rosendo and his helper are awesome for sure.

Lakeway Plumbing Plumbing Service
Lakeway Plumbing was fantastic to work with! I shopped around looking to replace my 50 gallon natural gas water heater. I had an old Rheem Powervent which had finally rusted and was leaking. I shopped around looking for quotes from a variety of sources including my home warranty company, Home Depot/ARS, and Reliant plumbing, and of course Lakeway Plumbing.

Erick, the owner at Lakeway Plumbing, was excellent to work with and very friendly. He was able to communicate with me via Yelp, text, phone and email to schedule an estimate.

After receiving extremely high estimates from the aforementioned businesses, he came in $2000 under the previous cheapest estimate.

Other companies were telling me I would have to replace a bunch of stuff to bring my water heater up to code and one company told me I had to either do roofing work and replace a bunch of piping in the walls or else go with an extremely expensive tankless water heater which it would be mounted on the outside of the house. Seemed a little bit far-fetched to me. Anyways, Lakeway Plumbing was able to do the job quickly in one day and now we no longer need to boil water to take a bath/shower!

Excellent customer service and the owner made you feel important and understood the necessity of getting the water heater replaced immediately.

One Call Plumbing Plumbing Service
Everyone I called was completely booked for weeks, Tony came out within 30 minutes of me calling him. I had a 45 degree plastic pipe under the ground in my front yard break and my front yard was completely soaked. He came out assessed the problem and had his son come out and fix it for me within an hour it was fixed, and for a very reasonable price. I will always recommend these guys! Awesome work, great price  who could ask for more?

Guys came out and troubleshot and fixed/replaced what they thought was the problem without tearing into a wall. The leak continued so I cut a hole in the wall. Reached back out to CPP and they came right back out and fixed the leak with no further charges. Thanks gentleman. Appreciate it.

Mighty Mike's Plumbing Plumbing Service
Mike has been my plumber for years except for a period when I lost his phone number and tried the number posted on Yelp.  His business is NOT closed.  It was just my good luck that I ran into him one day and got his number again.  As great a plumber as he is, he simply does not advertise beyond having a business card.  His phone number is 512-626-8036.  Do yourself a favor and hang onto that number.

Seriously! I have found my plumber for the rest of the time I live in Elgin (although I hope to never need him again). So it turns out I did not have a slab leak, instead the builder put the water line UNDER the driveway! It is about 1 1/2 feet in. My roommate dug and dug until he found the leak and cleaned the area all around it. I called Mike and let him know what was going on. He went staright out to my house, fixed the leak and called me to tell me it was $100 even and he would just leave me a bill. He also said if I leave him the paperwork from the city to try to recoup some of my super high bill, he would sign it and leave it on the front door.
After speaking to so many plumbers in the past few weeks it is refreshing to know I have a good, honest plumber I can count on from now on!

1st Home & Commercial Services Plumbing Service
My AC unit was going downhill and I decided to start shopping for a new one.  I had 13, yes 13, different AC/Heating companies come out and give me quotes for a complete AC/Heat system.  The very last bid was 1st Home and Commercial and I almost didn't call because I was tired of it by that point but I am so glad I did.  Tim Greene was the only one that was completely honest with me about the damper system I have that was not functioning properly.

His bid for the top of the line American Standard unit came in slightly cheaper than any of the others for the same unit and he also saved me money on the damper system by telling me the entire thing did not need to be replaced as several of the others had said.  Some said just to leave it broken. Well, this house was designed to have the damper system for efficiency so it didn't make sense to me to leave it broken.

I scheduled the install and they not only showed up on time, they were friendly, polite and very informative about what they were doing.  Tyler was my main installer and he was fantastic. He had injured his hand earlier in the week but still showed up to install my new system with no complaints.  All of the poeple who I have interacted with and the folks in the office have been great. They went above and beyond with communications, calls, texts about arrival times, the removal of the old unit, and installation of the new one.

They made sure to clean up after themselves and even cleaned up stuff other repairmen had left behind.  They walked me through every step telling me what they were working on, the steps they were taking, about how long each step would take and they only took a short lunch break.  They showed me how to use the new wifi thermostats, set them up and made sure I knew how to operate everything before they left. The house is nice and cool, the new unit is quieter and much more efficient than the old one.  I can't thank them enough and have already recommended them to others.

Replaced a Kenmore unit which we had for 8 plus years.  The resin had disintegrated and we were having blockages in the aerators in the sinks and the screen in the feed line to the washer.

Visited Lowes to discuss buying a replacement unit and installing myself.  They indicated that AWS would call for an appointment to schedule a consultation on what options we had and was told they would call within 48 hours.  AWS called within two hours and scheduled the appointment for the following day.  We discussed and purchased a replacement.  They were able to schedule the installation three days later as it was a holiday weekend.  They showed up on schedule and did an excellent installation.

They also installed a pressure reducing valve on the incoming water line to prevent resin breakthrough on the new unit.  I also had them install a hose connection on the water softener outlet to facilitate rinsing of my vehicles with softened water when washing.

They did a much better installation than the outfit that did the Kenmore installation.  I am extremely happy with the entire process.  Thank you Lowes and AWS.  I highly recommend both organizations!

1, They gave an appointment  1 week out and confirmed on text that free estimate would be provided for repair when they came out
2. Talked on phone with tech 1 day before. He did not mention any extra fees. Then he texted saying we are coming out for free  but there may be a charge to identify what parts need to be replaced. What a joke
3. When i asked how much, texted back USUSALLY 190-259, cost of repair would be additional
4. I complained about the bait and switch 1 week after appointment, and mentioned Angies list reviews. Then their tune was slightly changed if we have to spend time troubleshooting the unit the fee will be in place

I would avoid. The fee should have been mentioned up front, instead of texting me free estimate when the issue with water heater had already been described. Then when homeowner is helpless, describing the fees last minute.
Go with plumbmasters or other that charge fixed 89$ fee and apply it to repairs and are clear about the fees upfront.

Texas AC & Plumbing Specialist Plumbing Service
Great for fixes. Mediocre? Worse? for replacement.

We had a terribly old system that we had various area A/C teams fix over a period of a couple years. The system had a small coil leak and some electronic breakdowns that were relatively inexpensive fixes ($300 or less). During those fixes TX AC Specialists were by far the most informative and reliable guys to call - we had others come and say we just needed to replace the whole thing without even looking around, etc. TX AC always agreed with the sentiment that it was time to replace it but would spend the 15 minutes to half hour to diagnose our problem and fortunately for several times in a row the fix was minimal or a not-too-bad refrigerant recharge.

That is how TX AC gets your business. They have A++ repair men, but install is not as good.

In late 2013 during one of the cold spells it was just time to replace the system. The sales guy who came out seemed fairly informative, quoted us XYZ system and said we'd get a number of discounts.

The XYZ system was a 3.5 ton carrier unit that by the sales guy estimation needed two intake vents where our house only has one. Adding the second intake vent would be included in the price he said and would be just such and such through this wall.

Turns out, sales guy not so good at math in various ways.

Math problem #1: One of the discounts he claimed I get, some $400 refund, didn't even exist - Fortunately one of the founders of the company sent us a check for $400 out of their own pocket after I complained about this.

Math problem #2: The second intake install was not as easy as they sales guy's first glance said it would be, the intake needed to go through a wall, yes, but there was a closet behind it with some open air before the next wall - which I guess was not how he wrote the quote.

Math problem #3: Possibly caused by math problem #2, the unit sounds like a jet engine in our house. Sure, it actually works fine compared to our 20 year old unit, but we have trouble sleeping at night when its on and our living room TV has to be turned up very loud to hear over this new unit.

Math problem #4: Typical sales BS about how much money we'd save in electricity each month replacing that old 20+ year old unit. The thing here is, when your old A/C doesnt work, you use it less to just get by. When the new unit is installed, you use it like a normal A/C, more often, running it at 75 in the summer rather than 80, etc, and even so, with 20 year newer technology our bill stayed the same.

---

Our install experience was the same as others have mentioned. Nobody on the team spoke english, or barely did. When they came out they noticed the airgap to bridge through the closet and just decided they couldn't do it for the second vent.

They also let one of our cats out by leaving the garage door open, despite me being in the house and having very explicit conversations with them about how we could manage not letting the cats out (lock the cats in the bedroom most of the time, then at a certain time I'll let them out to go eat and so on, but DONT open the garage during that 1 hour window). Naturally, cats being cats, one of them hid in the garage so we were careful to agree on the situation (DONT open the garage until I find it, just leave the garage shut). Apparently Don't open the garage doesn't translate to spanish because I came out in the garage looking for the cat fifteen minutes later and naturally the garage was wide open. Thanks guys. Cat survived, no thanks to these minor league technicians.

---

So, install not very smooth, but the unit worked! It was loud as hell, and its been perfectly operational for a year - so I would say these guys are technically proficient at minimum on install in that the unit actually works, but the polish you see when their A+ list all stars come to fix things is not there on install, and you'll likely be disappointed.

We did call their guys out of exasperation about the noise a few months after install, and their guy (again, one of the a+ all star knows his stuff fix guys, not the backup little league install team guys), and he says the way to fix the horrible jet engine sound problem is either get that second intake vent (no way?! you don't say?!) or have the install team move the unit further away from the vent into the house which was going to be $1K to $2K.

$2K to have that install team in my house again, probably screwing something else up further? No thanks.

At this point my wife and I are hoping the entire unit dies under the warranty period due to lack of air intake misconfiguration by their installers so they can do it the right way the second time. But, to our dismay, the jet engine keeps on working just fine - so, as I said, to their credit, the damn thing actually works at all, which is surprising given the math problems and miscommunication problems from sales guy to team.

Use these guys for minor fixes, don't let them install a unit in your house.

G.I.S Contracting Plumbing Service
My wife and I did a remodel on two of our bathrooms, which included all new tile, a new vanity, new fixtures and we also had some new lights installed in our kitchen. We had a very good experience working with GIS and our project was completed to our full satisfaction. Ann, Tony, Marc and the team were very responsive and even did a thorough walk through after the completion of the job to make sure everything was to our liking. I would definitely recommend GIS to anyone looking to do any home improvement.

Speed of response is fast. But service charge is very expensive. They will charge $178 if service is declined after quote. Otherwise, it's $89+actual cost. I had a leaking main water pipe in the front yard. Cost me $600. I know it involved some digging work but it is something that can be done in a hour or two. Yet, a couple of hours later, it starts to leak again. I had to call the guy back to finish the job properly.

It was a weekend and I wanted to fix the problem for the tenant on the same day. I called several companies and they are the only one I can get hold of for same day service. But I should have called more companies to get more reasonable price. This one definitely charges as much as they can. I know professional plumbers can be expensive and I was prepared to pay $300 for the job. But $600 simply reminded me spending more time shopping around always makes sense when it comes to plumbing jobs.

since when do you need to pay for work that was not accomplished?!
2 guys came over to replace a toilet, which they did, and to replace a flash assist unit in another toilet.  they could not do it because the new unit didn't fit.  i do not pay for your time mister!  i pay for work done and accomplished!  the only reason i paid them $165 for nothing,  is because i was in a good mood this morning.  i hired many plumbers and other people of the trade for many many years, this scammers need to learn more about integrity!  if you looking for a decent company to do your plumbing, please look elsewhere!  this c&k is not even worth looking into.

AND NO!!  i don't remember what we spoke about few weeks ago!  you should have sent to me your contract  before your crew showed up today!   i certainly don't appreciate your nasty attitude and low level of professionalism!  people like you don't deserve to be in business!  Go back and do your business in flugerville,  we in austin have lots of better plumbers than you will ever be!  WE DON'T NEED YOU HERE!!
